during a shaw pack meeting, sam glances at angel then down to their phone, noticing my little pony stickers covering their phone case. he clears his throat, slightly leaning towards them and says something like “say.. ain’t that where the orange pony’s from? you know, with the little apples an’ stuff?” he bluntly motions the case.

angel looks up, confused. then recollected the stickers, “oh, you mean applejack? :O”

“yeah yeah, applejack! that’s right,” he snaps his fingers lightly when he got the right idea, chuckling.

after the meeting, darlin’ notices a sticker on sam’s left breast pocket that shows an orange pony with a hat. they look up at him and sees his beaming smile, eyes sparkling and says “was gonna ask for that rainbow fella for you, but angel don’t got one on them yet.”

Infection Au

The results said the audience wants to hear my Infection Au so I shall deliver. (TW for blood, mentions of gore and su1cid3). I based this on the MLP Swamp Fever Au and the general Infection aus <3 Also this au includes a lot of ocs that belong to me and my friends

So the main plot is that a strange fungi was discovered on Sage Island that soon began to make people ill. At first everyone thought that it's just a regular magic fungi, however it quickly turned out to be an incorrect assumption. Those infected with the spores began to develop odd symptoms such as nosebleed, gums bleeding, bloodshot eyes, discoloration of fingers and soon the limbs as it spreads. By the ending stages of the infection, the patient will resemble more like a bleeding and decaying tree. The infection spreads through either bites or the spores of the fungi. Coming in contact with the infected without any safety gloves also results in infection. Those with high magic drive are able to remain sane for longer periods of time than those with lower or no magic drive at all.

It has been 4 weeks since the outbreak started. Idia and Ortho were able to leave Sage Island before STYX put the island on lockdown, sealing the dorm mirrors and the Dark Mirror so nobody can pass through. They're working on a cure. Meanwhile the ones stuck on Sage Island have started to adapt to the current situations, learning through several losses. Trein was one of the first victims of the outbreak, having been killed by the infected while trying to protect his students. Riddle, Vee, Marqu, Ellis, Mary, Fox and Jade have been terminated after they could no longer fight the infection and grew way too hostile. Cater, Dominico and Ace are injured from expeditions and attacks but uninfected. Azul and Leona are still under infection, Azul due to no access to any more human potions has returned to his merform and is now kept in a water tank until further notice. Leona is incredibly hostile and staff decided on termination. Trey, Lilia, Adamaris and Crowley are missing with no trace of where they could be. Malleus is infected but manages to maintain his sanity. Ruggie, Jack, Sebek, Alce, Thea, Allen, Deuce, Augustino, Chenfeng and Vargas are the ones on the expedition team who regularly leave campus (what has been turned into a main camp) to gather supplies, look for survivors, kill the wandering infected and clear areas. There are snipers (Thea and Allen), gatherers (Ruggie, Deuce, Augustino) and those who cover the team incase the infected are nearby (Sebek, Alce, Chenfeng). Jack and Vargas do most of the heavy lifting and Jack pulls the occasional carts with his UM. The ones in charge of terminating those who lose the battle with the infection inside NRC are Spider, Alce and Vargas. Vil is also infected but holds on, Rook wrote himself out of the expedition groups to stay with Vil while Epel along with Silver and Kalim are not allowed to join the expedition groups for their own reasons. Jamil stays with Kalim and Spider in NRC, Alto is in charge of the supplies that the expedition groups successfully gathered, Silver is distraught and anxious because of Lilia's absence which is why Sylas stay with him at all times. Floyd is his own person ever since Jade was put down and staff can't determine how much impact his brother's death had on him. He leaves a lot but never comes back infected. Ami and Crewel are the ones staying in NRC at all times to take care of the few children that were caught in the outbreak such as Karina and Eve. Sam is infected but resides in his shop while holding out.

As the story progresses, multiple of the canons and ocs fall. Cater dies to an infected wound, Leona is terminated, Thea asks to be put down by Sebek, Deuce is terminated by Alce due to the infection, Jamil is killed by the infected, Azul ends his own life by leaving the water tank in his merform, Alto is put down by Idia after infected severely, Vil is put down but he ends up killing Rook and Epel, Lilia is found dead, Spider is killed by the infected, Alce is killed by Allen who was infected, Allen ends his own life after realizing what he had done. Crowley is never found.

The last survivors end up being:

Ace, Trey (he is found), Ruggie, Jack, Floyd, Kalim, Idia, Ortho, Malleus, Silver, Sebek, Crewel, Sam, Vargas, Ami, Karina, Eve, Sylas and a couple more ocs.

It's a lot of angst and I know it's a bit jumbled right now but I'm in the making of the character files and I will post them one by one. If you have questions, you can ask away ^^

Megamind - Antihero au, Anti is Megamind and Jackie is Roxanne.

Werewolf - Antiaverage au, Chase is a human and Anti is the alpha of his pack. Anti protects Chase and his kids from dying after targeted by an enemy pack. Stacy died to a wolf from that pack when Anti first discovered Chase and his kids. Mostly Anti's perspective.

Mer - Schneeplebro and danti au. Dark is trying to wake up a god and Henrik is trying to stop him, Chase gets caught in the middle when Stacy makes and breaks a deal with Dark. Several perspectives.

Skyrim - Dark x Anti x Henrik x Chase au. Chase runs an inn, dealing with the hijinx of what eventually is his three boyfriends (mostly Dark and Anti). Chase's perspective.

Dragon - Marvin x Anti. Dragons have been hunted by humans for decades since the accidental murder of most of the royal family. Now it follows Anti, looking for his dad Chase who had been dragges off by humans. Too trusting, humans target him and almost hurt him until Marvin saves him. Marvin agrees to help. Anti's perspective.

Avian - Several ships. Several avians deal with the world they live with and the evil humans are capable of. Several perspectives.

Crossover - Still in concept. The mers and avians having a crossover where they could meet and what not. Probably won't have a real story or plot. Sub au of the mer and avian aus.

Bird Boys - Chase x Marvin x Henrik. Follows the story of the avian au except Chase doesn't end up dating Anti and Jackie. Chase's perspective.

Gods - The Iplier and Septic egos as gods. So far, no real story except gods go brr.

Undead - Anti x Henrik and Jackie x Chase. Set in the universe of the walking dead, main four boys handle a zombie apocalypse. Starts as Chase's perspective but follows Jackie, Henrik, and Anti.

Sparklecats - I have no explanations. Just the egos as sparklecats. There are two clans even. Septicclan and Iplierclan.

Five Nights at Sam's(FNaS) - Very early conception. Basically fnaf and ego crossover with Anti as William Afton.

IRIS Pokemon - Early concept. The JSE egos(+ Caretaker Nix) in the Pokemon universe.

Attack on Titan AUs

Bertholdt Survives - OC x canon au. Inspired by the song "I Know Those Eyes/This Man Is Dead" from The Count of Monte Cristo. Bertholdt survives the Battle of Shiganshina, switching sides. Chaos ensues when he sees the Warriors again in season 4.

Band - OC x canon. Inspired by the song "Guys Don't Like Me" by It Boys. The Warriors, minus Annie, make up a band. Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Zakai make up another band. Zakai is dating Armin but meets Bertholdt in a club. She ends up cheating on Armin with Bertholdt's help.

Traitor - OC x canon. Zakai makes a different choice, siding with Paradis instead of Marley when she is reunited with Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie. Her loyalty is grey until its revealed that Reiner and Bertholdt are the Armored and Colossal titans. She ends up running into Armin's arms specifically. Angst heavy.

Warring Pokemon - Early concept. AoT characters(+ ocs) in the Pokemon universe. I just want more pokemon brainrot to be shared.

My Hero Academia AUs

Hero - Where the LoV + ocs have different upbringings, resulting in many to be heroes instead. A "fix it" au of a sort. LoV and the Big Three aged down to fit into UA (with the Big Three being in 2A instead of 3A).

One Piece AUs

If You Died - An au where Lenna dies instead of Lila. Early concept.

actually hang on im still thinking about canon versus fanon and like. my very controversial dp opinion is like... wes is really good, as a concept. as a side character, as a background character, as a bit player - but not as a major character. not as a major protagonist, and not as a major antagonist either. like in a very specific way, for very specific reasons, you know?

like everyone looked at this random, nameless background character and thought it was interesting how he looked almost identical to danny phantom - and decided to do something with that. to see that if he looks identical to danny phantom, it would only make sense that maybe he’d see danny phantom for who he really is when his peers do not. see, i love that. tonally, i think that fits the setting and the narrative that already exists. it fleshes out the universe in a way that makes sense, and i’ve always loved looking at background characters and making them more than they are. that’s fun to me. that’s interesting to me. i don’t typically agree with the “core concept” of background characters who are picked up by a fandom and made bigger than they were, but wes has a core concept that actually delights me, and that’s a rarity. and making use of the sam-wes gag was pretty funny. big fan, big fan of that.

but to then to try to make him so... integral to a story who his existence is only a second thought to, and stealing various roles actual major characters serve in the process? i don’t like that one bit. wes is no replacement for jazz, he doesn’t need her arc or her role. wes is no replacement for dash, he doesn’t need to usurp his role especially given the context of dash’s inspiration which wes wouldn’t make a very good pastiche of anyways. and he’s sure as hell no replacement for valerie - he does not need to usurp the role of grudge-based rival slash antagonist with something to prove from valerie. and what the fuck is wrong with you, trying to take every plotline away from a major protagonist who happens to be a black girl?! seriously think that one through. he doesn’t need to have a serious grudge against danny. he doesn’t need to be a credible threat, sympathetic or not. wes doesn’t need to be a main character. 

wes is narratively perfect as the ditzy doo of mlp or the fred rechid of spongebob to danny phantom - a recurring gag with a name that is recognized, and beloved, for the comedy his existence provides. one that could have a starring episode or two, yes, but ultimately does not steal the spotlight or focus from more important characters. 

however, i will also say that while wes is no replacement for jazz, dash, or valerie - he would make an excellent replacement for elliot. elliot is so nothing, so less than worthless. he contributes nothing of value to the narrative, and by virtue of pretending to be someone hes not for the entirety of his episode and lying at every turn you don’t find out a single thing about him except that he’s an insecure liar, he is less substantial than any other side character with a name despite having almost an entire episode focusing on him. so you can easily replace elliot with wes and it would change nothing. so yeah instead of an annoying episode about sam’s fake goth boyfriend danny is jealous of who is confused for phantom, i’d be fine with it being replaced with something wes-centric

Alright, clicking the log to find my place as usual (while squinting so I don’t see too much), I see... one new page... THAT’s ominous.  Unless they’re doing the thing Andrew used to do and only showing the surface link so as not to spoil the update length/contents in the log, which would be nice given the new site format.  (Also I’ll be covering the commentary for the previous chapter here that went up on Patreon.)

...I kinda understand the need for inclusion of this, though.  Not the trigger warning, that’s genuinely appreciated, I mean the working-through of many of these characters’ probably suicidal-verging thoughts given the bullshit the Epilogues have put them through, and the leadup events thereof.  Or, from the looks of this page trying to lay out how to create these new alien races, clearly based in part on pages of her Zoologically Dubious grimoire...

Hah, poor Rose, just float-noping on out of there cause Dirk’s pushing his whole Cave-shadows-on-the-wall allusion.  Are you getting bored of this monstrous process, Rose?  Yes?  No??

Taking a floatwalk across the gorgeous alien landscape?  (Wait, your robot floats without rocket boosters? Neat. Is that technology or God-Tier flight? Did it need to be a fancy robot to integrate the latter or was that just yours for free?)

What will she run into to make sense of the title of this chapter-panel?

Did Terezi run back to the ship to snoop on that thing Dirk had been hiding while he and Rose were distracted?

I hope that’s what she did.

The whimsical wandering angle of this shot makes it unclear whether Rose is flying ahead while looking into the sky, or has suddenly flopped forward onto her face on a pale patch of ground.

Ooh, and now we have text! ...Which makes it unlikely that Terezi successfully snooped anything important unless Dirk would narratively let her.  Shit.

Wait, the command for this page might make sense if she was using the command terminal in the ship to mess with Dirk or someone else, possibly to give her the opportunity to pull something.  Right?

The soft whitenoise ringing of the extensive ventilation network sounds, if she closes her nose just right, like the rustle of wind through the leaves of a treehive universes away.

...closes her nose.  ¬___¬

but Terezi isn’t distracted from the main object of her focus — the unconscious body of Rose Lalonde, bathed in dim light, chest rising and falling in an artificially-induced slumber.

Good.  Her body had better fucking stay alive for a while.  They killed Davebot’s outright, since he was an “extra”, essentially -- Rose’s needs to stay alive if we’re to have fucking hope that Kanaya can snatch her up in a comfortable non-robotic embrace and get her out of this self-centered, brainwashed nightmare.

Wires and tubes run up from her plinth to the ceiling of the chamber, keeping her alive, yes, but too much just for that purpose. Something about the tangle of intravenous tubing and fiber optic cable makes Terezi think of the old stories about the Ψiioniic.

Mhmm.  She has to stay connected to and pilot her body.

ROSE: There you are. I haven’t seen much of you. TEREZI: IV3 B33N R1GHT H3R3 FOR HOURS TEREZI: BUT YOUR 3Y3S H4VE B33N CLOS3D TH3 WHOL3 T1M3 >:[

--Oh.  I’d misremembered the chapter name as “your eyes are NOW closed”.  So it probably wasn’t some sort of trick.  (Unless she’s lying here, and tricked Rose into THINKING her body wasn’t kind of half-awake for a moment, potentially rebelliously? .....nah.)

Why does Terezi care so much?

I can imagine the old Terezi getting attached enough to Rose (and Kanaya) to look at this and feel bad enough to stare, but...?  She used her emotional distance from most of her remaining friends to vamoose with these people a long while ago.  (Which was a pity.)  How did those feelings and that empathy get resurrected way out here?

Rosebot turns her head to look back at the frail, failing vessel that once housed her consciousness. She doesn't even dispatch a fake laugh to her behavioral display matrix in pity of this half-joke.

Fuck you.  Dirk is writing half of this.

ROSE: Your attachment to my comatose body is unexpectedly charming, as well as slightly sinister. ROSE: She isn’t going to do anything. ROSE: She isn’t coming back from where she’s gone. TEREZI: YOU N3V3R KNOW

Does Terezi really care about Rose that much now?

Also, fuck you, Dirk-manipulating-Rose’s-worldview.

I mean, I know she’s probably really deep into all her new power and foresight, even as herself, but she wouldn’t be nearly as dismissive and comfortable if Dirk hadn’t been shaping her with mind control for years.

ROSE: Yes, I suppose that’s true. ROSE: Anything can happen, you can’t see the future, etc. etc. ROSE: Except I can. I can see the trajectory the story needs to take, and thus I know the trajectory it will take. ROSE: And resurrecting my meat puppet would not only be difficult to the point of being worthless, it would also be extremely lame. ROSE: Not that it would be out of character for this story. We live and breathe on the stupefyingly mind-numbing, and the mind-numbingly stupid.

They’re REALLY pushing her as a full fucking villain here.  Benefits of transcending human flesh aside, she’s being WAY too dismissive of what she’s leaving behind, here.  What came with this body besides the body itself.  The attachments and Blood it means relinquishing and severing.

Rose has stared into the sun so hard that she is LITERALLY BLIND.  “It didn’t happen because it didn’t happen” is the worst, most basic and wrong level one Seer of Light thing she could possibly believe.  She has completely fucking FORGOTTEN that she played through an entire game session that was clearly trying to TELL her something.  TEACH her something.  And is dismissing everything at play back then, everything that MADE reality and the final timeline what it WAS, as something at worst meaningless or just plotpoints in a subpar story, and at best a failed moral tale that she thinks she would write better in her sleep.  She’s like... worse than inverted Rose right now.  Where’s all this new Lighty wisdom she’s supposed to have?  Jasprose is showing more foresight and prudence in the bonus chapters than she is as a PURE ultimate self, thanks to her own twisted ambitions and Dirk’s horse-blinders.

I didn’t expect the “Why would anyone read this crap?” line so early in the story.  Still, this sequel WAS designed to both ask and answer this question... I shouldn’t be so surprised.

TEREZI: YOU D1DN'T DO MUCH "WORLDBU1LD1NG" WH3N YOU FUCK3D OFF FOR 3ONS 4ND L3T CH3SS P3OPL3 BU1LD YOUR PL4N3T ROSE: That approach failed. ROSE: Without an organized antagonistic force, the planet became fundamentally unsuited to relevance.

THE GOAL OF MAKING A NEW UNIVERSE OUTSIDE OF CANON WAS TO ESCAPE RELEVANCE FOR PEACE!

Everything New Rose says makes me want to throttle her.  :(

ROSE: We only know of one way to perpetuate canon for sure. To play and defeat the game, and continue the life cycle of the genesis frog we cling to parasitically.

ROSE: As the sheer number of doomed universes our actions in the game spun off should show, we barely understood the design at the time. ROSE: Truly, we stumbled through the tape of the finish line ass-first, cheating all the way.

I suppose I can agree on a small sliver of this, a tangent -- one of the same reasons I was so surprised when Homestuck’s finale closed so few threads:

You all clearly didn’t have time to learn enough lessons.

ROSE: But there was no table of judges waiting to adjudicate our performance by holding up little placards with numbers on them. ROSE: We are the observers, and we are the judges. ROSE: We won, and to the victor go the spoils. ROSE: If you want a hand in making the rules of this new world, then don't storm off.

Terezi knows better than this.  The trolls “WON” with this attitude, and were hoisted on the resulting petard.  Ah, there we go, and she’s saying just that:

...but that crazy, ruled-over multiverse they ended up escaping is exactly what we think they’re going to end up CREATING in this story, right?  A contained loop of countless universes that follow the same rules they fought so hard to shrug off, many enslaved and miserable under Lord English’s rampaging thumbs?  In trying to do it “better” her own way, Rose is going to possibly end up creating the exact system she once tried to reject.

Congratulations!  You’ll have created a prison.  For your Ultimate Villain, AND yourselves.  I just hope you come to your senses and dodge getting trapped inside there again.

Rosebot looks over at the plinth where her body sits, kept alive, sure, but atrophied and weak, dependent on this machine to continue projecting consciousness to the abiotic enclosure keeping the realization of the Ultimate Self from tearing her apart.

Wouldn't it be better to just let it die? Terezi isn't asking new questions. Rose had first threatened suicide when she was eight.

Ah, damn.  That’s the route we’re going with this conversation, huh.

I was wondering whether keeping Rose’s body alive was “necessary” for the functioning of this particular level of robo-self tech, or whether it’s the last vestige of her vacillation, refusing to cut it off completely yet only because some NON-FUCKING-BRAINWASHED piece of her is wondering if she’ll eventually decide that all this isn’t “right” after all, that she can accept being “less” if it makes her happy.

Explaining things to someone not aided by the exponential increase in processing power Rosebot has is tedious. Terezi's hesitation won't be swayed by explaining more of the universe. There's another source at work.

Abruptly, Terezi is lifted from the ground with a glidingly-smooth effortless motion. Metal is so much stronger than flesh. Inspiring a reaction like this from Rose's robotic placidity has been like squeezing blood from a stone on this years-long journey.

Oh hell fucking yes.  Is THIS what you were after, you beautiful troll?  Terezi just proved that SOME deep level of Rose has recognized that she’s being manipulated, and refuses to accept it for the sake of her own ego.  She couldn’t possibly get so ANGRY otherwise.  :D

Yeah-- it’s pretty clear here now.

The heroes’ goal in the initial comic, and the reward they earned -- while unclear on paper and DEFINITELY not spelled out -- was to “stop being Homestuck”.  Was to escape the bounds of the comic, to almost KILL the comic.

But that was a little vaguely put, before.  HS^2 has done us the favor of making it an EXPLICIT GOAL of the heroes.

BONK. Rosebot's even metallic voice is interrupted by the bang of skull against metal, and Terezi's headbutt collapses the both of them into a crumpling heap of metal and flesh.

That was a step too far. Tensions that once simmered under the surface have found the catalyst for a boil.

Terezi’s barely holding on if she’s going to get so dramatic so fast.

Or Dirk’s writing this so dramatic, anyway.

Rosebot finally has Terezi pinned to the ground by the throat. A cool metallic knee is pressed hard between her legs, holding her down. A natural pause in the staccato squabble is found, and two pairs of red eyes are locked on each other.

Oh right, I should skip most of the fluff y’all would see if you paid and get just any plot important discussion, let’s skip past some ogling of Rose’s pretty well-designed robo-form and its first onscreen appearance...

A1: The imagery is, admittedly, a little heavy-handed. Terezi leaving the cave for the light, the other two remaining in the darkness to talk endless circles around each other.

--OH! I finally get to figure out why Dirk’s hand was glowing all weird when he slammed the “map”: ......nope, they just talk about how big his yaoi hand is.

A1: I guess this means we’ve sort of canonized Dirk’s Texas accent? a2: yeah, but i think this was a foregone conclusion. the dude lived in post-apocalyptic texas, and he's ABSOLUTELY the sort of person to adopt a long-dead accent for no reason other than historical accuracy.

That’s fair.  (Yes, I included that for plot relevance. Totally. ...I really need to be a lighter touch with how much I include of these things that isn’t helpful to actually understand what the fuck is going on with the actual plot/characterization, here, this was real borderline.)

we sort of go in drunken circles of Dirk and Rose trying to out-bullshit each other and convince themselves they’re doing the right thing.

--which was obvious to everyone, but.  Still appreciated to see it spelled out.  Seeing our points of view validated like this helps us stay sane through the bullshit, a golden promise of eventual reprieve and vindication.

a2: we tried something a little different for the writing process of this update, which is that for large sections of the dialog we just rp'd the characters a2: andrew copied large sections of early homestuck from personal chatlogs with friends, and i always thought that lent it a special kind of humor and rapport that can be hard to capture by yourself. i think this approach worked pretty well for us.

It REALLY is an effective way to write dialogue for these sorts characters in particular!  Heck, I’m kind of helping someone else do exactly that.  It’s pretty fun!  There are chapters and chapters out by my understanding, having diverged from such a focus on the central character I’m playing but using our logs as a guide... none of which I’m allowed to read, not even the FIRST chapter, so as not to spoil me with the surrounding narration and added revelations.

A1: Moving right along. We see more of Dirk’s casual manipulation of Rose’s mental state, that he rationalizes away. It’s not actually that bad if she was going to agree anyway, right? 

Mhmm.  Hard to watch.

a2: [...] but it's a large part of what this chapter is about. a2: what is the right thing to do when you're functionally omniscient? a2: or omni...whatever these kids are. A1: Yeah, the question of whether morality actually has anything to do with running a system like this. Can god be moral? a2: and of course, that's kind of the same question that i ask myself a lot when writing. authorship is a peculiar thing.

That last part is pretty key about the story this entire thing is trying to tell.  A story about the morality of how one goes about creating a story.  A just story.  And if what’s created even has value.

a2: i was responsible for the animation on the sprite panels, which was fun. it's obviously imitating andrew an awful lot, but i think that lends it an aura of homestucky authenticity. andrew is low-key really good at animation. 

Yeah, he really, really is.  His keyframing and the devices he used to communicate what was physically happening were really tight.  I always appreciated that.

a2: aaaaand one last gina panel to finish with. rose may have had her doubts about this contest at first, but as soon as dirk made a little creature with tentacles she's like, fuck it, this is all i've ever wanted actually.

A bit sparse on the detail I was looking for once shit started to get horrific, the implications and such... but I can understand that.

Maybe when we get to the second and third place draft aliens, we’ll actually see a hint of a moral crisis in them.  At least a tiny one.

Oh I’m sure I could go on and on about all the things I do and don’t dislike about the finale and everything they did with their characters and ships in the end.

Fortunately none of the shipping discourse is covered in my MLP Review video I’m currently working on, so I’m definitely free to go at them in length here!

Let’s just go in order as I think that’s the easiest way to handle this, and start with CheesePie.

CheesePie gets the 100% Sam Rose seal of approval! CheesePie is wholesome goodness that just makes absolute sense, and anyone who disagrees with these two making a happy couple honestly don’t really know what makes a good couple.

You can dislike it for several reasons, including having other ships you much prefer one or the other to be in, but to say anything along the lines of “They would be bad for each other” would just be straight up false and a gross misunderstanding of their characters.

I honestly don’t have much to say outside of that, they’re just absolutely solid. I’m glad Weird Al got to canonically steal a Waifu, its honestly perfect. If anyone deserved to get away with it, it was him for sure lol

Also Lil Cheese is adorable, though I wish she didn’t have Fluttershy’s colors straight up stolen. Like, just tweak the colors a bit and she’s honestly perfect. It wasn’t difficult lol

SugarMac.

I have mixed feelings about SugarMac. On one hand I think they’re mostly harmless? But at the same time the show never really did a good job of ‘selling’ them.

Like the only times we ever saw SugarMac was when they were having issues with their relationship, and they were really tropey relationship issues too. Love-Triangle battle to get the girl, and then miscommunication twice (I haven’t seen Big Mac Question but I was told it was awfully rehashy of Break Up, Break Down. Feel free to correct me if that’s not the case).

So not only did we never see them develop as a couple, see why they worked out aside from liking how each other looked, we never really had a reason to get invested in them. 

I would’ve loved more background appearances of them, or maybe at least a full on explanation of how they’re doing as a couple outside of their super awkward get together and their issues before just, jumping to getting married.

A harmless ship in my mind, but I always got the feeling people would’ve preferred Mac to get with any number of other more well suited choices. And I can at least agree with that. I like Sugar Belle, but I’m not sure if SugarMac was the best ship for either of them.

I legitimately know nothing about these characters rofl

I’m sitting here trying to think back to the interactions they had in the episodes I saw, and I barely remember them at all. I know Sandbar gets talked about a lot as the ‘boring’ member of the young six, and he’s essentially there to be the token ‘pony’ of the group and that’s it.

I’ve heard people like Yona, that she’s a sweetheart and all, but I never really saw any character defining moments for her.

For context, I didn’t watch every episode of Season 8, and only the Opener for 9, so I missed like 90% of the character episodes for the Young Six.

Judging ships for them is extremely difficult because I don’t have any kind of a grasp of who they are as characters or their importance in the show. I really, REALLY wish they had either been the solid focus of the show, or not been included at all.

So as far as SandbarYona goes, without any reason to truly say no, why not? From what I can tell it’s not toxic, no one has complained about it, but no one has really praised it either.

So I’m gonna assume it’s okay!

I know they made them re-appear talking about chores as a hint that they might be a couple now, and then leave the rest up to fan interpretation, but honestly I’m not a big fan of them as a couple.

Maybe early show it would’ve been fine, but even back then I was never a big fan of “Rivals who become love interests” plots, not unless you really, REALLY showed the chemistry and how their ‘shared passion’ truly became something that is a solid bond of their relationship.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash always kind of took things in the opposite direction, showing why their passions made them clash, instead of why it brought them together. And that only got worse and worse as the seasons went on, especially as Dash got boiled down into being nothing but a cocky, egotistical stereotype.

I’m afraid that CANON AppleDash does not get the Sam Rose seal of approval. The way they’re portrayed in canon just comes off far too toxic for me. It’s perfectly fine to ship it I suppose, since in AUs and headcanons you can strip away the toxicity the show kind of laced their friendship with, but keep in mind that it requires quite a bit of fixing or retconing to make work.

FlutterCord

FlutterCord is… Weird. I can see WHY people would like it, or WHY they would end up together? Fluttershy is practically the only person in Discord’s life that he ever actually cares about, and has a passion and dedication for her that rivals no other, and I can easily see that being interpreted into an actual relationship.

But this is also Discord we’re talking about.

I’m not sure he’s a character who was ever meant to be in any kind of relationship. Or at the very least, it’d be a relationship that would end up as chaotic as he is.

That one episode where Discord tries to change himself to fit Fluttershy was probably their best episode on why their relationship would work, because the things they like about each other is why they’re friends in the first place, and changing that isn’t what either of them wants.

But Discord is a prankster troll who whines for attention and demands to be given things and opportunities he hasn’t earned or deserves, and makes a fuss and mess about all of it if not gotten his way.

I just have a hard time not sitting down and seeing down the road so many small issues piling up until there was this big break because Discord is TERRIBLE about dealing with his emotions, and it’d practically always be on Fluttershy to fix HIS issues for them to be a couple.

Who knows. Maybe they’d work better then I’m giving them credit for? Because I’ve also stated I can totally see why they’d end up a couple, and it makes sense.

But Discord is just a specific type of character that I hesitate to pull the trigger on their relationship, or give it a seal of approval.

I suppose this is another mixed bag ship. Harmless at the end of the day with how its portrayed, but it leaves a lot of unpleasant possibilities lying in the air that make me wary of it.

I am justified in calling this related to the blog because there was a DP sticker on Salespitch’s computer in that one strip. But really I just wanted to draw some of the Danny Phantom cast as ponies REALLY BADLY. XD So here you have it, Danny Phantom/Danny Fetlock (see what I did there). Click below for my ramblings on this picture! I am definitely NOT the first person to do this particular ponification, but after looking around online, I think I may be the first to make both Danny’s normal and ghost forms earth ponies. My logic for this is that Danny Phantom is unusual specifically BECAUSE he looks like a normal kid but has ghostly powers. Plus ectoplasm isn’t unicorn magic so why WOULDN’T he still shoot it out of his hooves? And as cool as alicorn Danny would be, doesn’t really make sense for him to become an alicorn just because he got ghost powers; that would make the majority of ghosts alicorns, too. Vlad would totally be a Sombra-esque unicorn ghost, though (probably with alicorn envy). I’ve also seen versions where his fur itself is colored after his suit, but I like the idea of ponies still using hazmat suits. I made his ghost appearance still skin-toned because any other color made him look like one of the multicolored villain ghosts from the show, or even his own Ultimate Enemy form. Plus I wanted to make his normal pony form blue anyway, so the color inversion works. :Dd Tucker is also an earth pony because it just felt right - earth ponies feel synonymous with‘normal’, which is mostly the show’s fault for not better emphasizing their powers of strength/endurance and ability to infuse life (i.e. growth magic). He almost got to be a unicorn due to his techie powers, but I didn’t want there to be two unicorns and one earth pony on the team because I have illogical hangups about party balance. And Sam is definitely a unicorn because she is smart and rich, which reminds me of the unicorn stereotypes in the show. Plus I couldn’t make her a pegasus because, as my friend stated emphatically, “Don’t you dare take that adorable Sam-flying-with-Danny scene away from us.” Also Sam got the Specter Deflector. She wears that a lot in the third season, actually, and it looks cool. Still haven’t quite figured out her cutie mark but I’ve seen a few online I really liked, such as a rose. Honestly, I could see this becoming canon in my pony AU. We already have internet and other technologies. Ghosts are, according to show creator, “monsters from another dimension” rather than actually dead things, and we definitely have THOSE in MLP already. These kids just happen to live in a town where certain ponies (the Fetlocks) have been making advances in multidimensional bridging to study and fight the surreal monsters known collectively as “ghosts”, and they happen to mutate their kid. Also the ponies in this town really like wearing shirts. It’s a fashion thing.

Sunday was Mother’s Day, so I spent a little time sewing my fursuit paws to kill time before getting ready to go to her house. I wanted to be there a little after 2 and buy her a plant from my work, but we didn’t leave until after 2 because my sister was slow and lost her glasses. We got her a pink petunia, and I drove there kinda weird because I’m shit at directions. We talked and had a nice time and my uncle called and my cousins said they missed Indiana which was sweet :) eventually we left so emily could do homework and study for finals, and I sewed a little more and did unspeakable atrocities and multiple war crimes and spent too much time on TikTok and played Pokémon mystery dungeon until it was time for bed. 

Vaccine day!! Drank water and played a lot of Pokémon mystery dungeon until it was almost time to get ready to leave. My mom asked me to go to the gas station real quick to get her soda and chips, and I was worried that this trip would make me late for my appointment. They didn’t have the soda she wanted but I got her some chips and some Cheetos popcorn for myself. I rushed home, ran inside to give her her chips and blurt out I was running late, told Siri to take me to the Kroger on X road, and gunned it there as fast as I could. I was already late as I pulled up, but I didn’t recognize the parking lot or anything around it. Then I realized it was the wrong fucking Kroger >:( in my rush to get directions and go, I didn’t check the exact address and just tapped the first one apple maps gave me. The one I needed was half an hour down the road the opposite way I had came :( but it wasn’t all bad, as I sat in my car trying to call and ask if I could still get my shot even if I missed my appointment, a woman walked in front of me to her car and a pint of ice cream fell off her cart. I hung up the phone and got out to hand it to her. She was very grateful and said that was so nice of me and cracked a joke saying there would have been chaos in the house if she had forgotten it lol. I told her to have a nice day and went back to my car, called Kroger back, got no help other than an automated robot voice telling me to go to their website, gained my composure and typed in the exact address I had saved in a picture. I’m so mad because it would have been SUCH an easier drive if I went the right way first, it literally would have been a straight shot from my house there down one major road. But anyway I got there, they said i could still get my shot, I filled out a paper, sat down, the nurse shot me and I hardly felt it (very anticlimactic compared to last time where I worked myself up to tears. I think I already knew it wasn’t going to hurt, so I was already more relaxed so less muscle for the needle to fight), no reaction in the 15 minutes there, so I left and went to the Starbucks across the street for 2 cake pops, one for me and one for my sister. The drive home was uneventful, just a straight shot down X road pretty much. I took the opportunity to sing mlp songs in the car, both canon and fan made. Even tho I was alone and my windows were up it still felt embarrassing and wrong to sing at like a shouting volume lol. So I got home and turns out Starbucks lies about the 2 flavors they had available so my sister got cookie dough instead of birthday cake, and I got chocolate. It was really good tho, I’ll probably get one again some time. Then I hung out and played Pokémon mystery dungeon until my mom had me do a Walmart grocery pickup. I didn’t want to get out of my pajama pants so I wore them there since I didn’t have to get out of the car. Drove home, gave mom her stuff, played Pokémon mystery dungeon, slept. 

One of these night I had a dream about running into a friend* who I had ghosted on Snapchat. We were in a Menards or sams club, just a large store, and I had to run around and avoid him as he chased after me, wanting to know why I never opened his text. Some girls told me it was going to be a suicide note, others told me I was horrible for ignoring him. It didn’t leave me with lasting feelings as I woke up, but I know I’m guilty about it in the back of my head. I already KNOW if I open it it’s just going to say “hi,” and talking to him is annoying, and idk why I was friends with him for so long, and I don’t want to keep in contact with him, but he’s a sad shitty boy and I feel bad for him but I don’t want to take responsibility for him or try to make him feel better or whatever. But some good news is that Snapchat is no longer giving me a notification about it, since it’s been 4 weeks now. I just don’t want to think about it anymore. I’ve been asking Siri to flip a coin when I see the notification, waiting for her to flip 3 heads in a row before I open it. So far that hasn’t happened. I wish there was a way for me to open it without him seeing that I did and just not respond, but that’s not how Snapchat works :/ whatever. I had another dream the next night where I became severely depressed and daughter out things to make me feel worse, and when I woke up I just thought it was funny. As soon as I was conscious enough to realize I was asleep in my bed, I felt better, which is what made it so funny. Idk. 

And as for today! I was fully prepared for vaccine side effects to hit me like a train today, but I woke up feeling completely fine, even after sleeping on the shoulder I got shot in. Obviously there was a little residual upper arm soreness and stiffness, but other than that, nothing. I texted my friend how her side effects were, and she said it was bad when she woke up but after like 3 hours she was fine. I had asked my work for a day off so I could rest, but since I wasn’t feeling anything, I told the garden center boss I was available today to work. So I played Pokémon mystery dungeon until I had to get ready and leave, but the car I was supposed to take was doing it’s rumbly engine thing again, so my dad revved the engine really hard for a bit until it fixed itself. Work was pretty uneventful, just shuffling plants forever. I did get a new vest, tho. ACTUALLY ONE REALLY FUNNY THING DIS HAPPEN TODAY. My coworker and I were moving hanging planters when we saw 2 birds on the ground fucking each other. She thought they were fighting at first, and it was really damn funny. After work I went to Hardee’s to use my coupon, but apparently they discontinued their normal chicken sandwich?? So instead I got 2 chicken clubs for my sister and I and the drive through lady gave me 2 buy one get one free coupons for when their new breaded chicken sandwich comes out. I thought the club was just ok, but my sister took 3 bites and decided she didn’t want it. I had a couple bites of hers, but gave the rest to my dad when he got home. Oh also he deposited my paycheck into my bank account for me :) he also brought home sushi and these flavored pretzels that are really good but I always end up eating too many 😔 so I played Pokémon mystery dungeon for the rest of the night, eating my sushi and some pretzels somewhere in the middle of it. And now I’m typing this up, but my hips and elbows hurt :( I think my hip pain is from standing and walking back and forth and bending over so much at work, and the elbow pain from holding my arms in the same position playing Pokémon mystery dungeon so much in the past week. I think I’ll just pop an Advil and sleep it off.
