#i’ve been thinking abt that cringe post #i think the latent feelings behind ‘cringe’ are shame and sometimes envy/bitterness #same vibes as when six year olds say ‘those toys are for babies’ if they’ve been shamed for their age by older kids #anyway. i think part of the healing process is realizing that shame puts you at war with yourself bc part of yourself is a social being!#and that part of you wants community and acceptance (maybe love). shame is the absence of acceptance #unlearning shame means learning self-love and gaining the confidence to find your people #jerma #cw jerma #(someone asked me to tag lol)

Tim: Yeah, there's a reason why I brought this up. What I'm trying to tell you is that B told me to tell you that you can bring your boyfriend over for dinner whenever you want.

Jason just stares at Tim, wondering if he's experiencing a fever dream because what??

Jason: What boyfriend??

As far as he knows, there is no boyfriend. Why does Bruce think there is a boyfriend??

sometimes i randomly remember how insane maggie stiefvater was for making ronan lynch—a man that can create reality—a man of god, when he himself is a god of a man. then to take this man and have him be not only in love with, but a literal soulmate of a man named adam. parrish. adam parrish. who, mind you, lives above ronan's very own place of worship. and is the namesake of the first of mankind that the bible says god made from the literal dust of the ground (adam parrish: comes from nothing, hair "dusty" in color) and appoints him to care for the garden of eden (adam parrish: sacrifices himself to ronan's sentient forest). then has adam viewing ronan as a god and ronan saying "maybe he dreamt (created)" adam???? like who just fucking writes that and goes about their life?

thinking about the teen who spent a LOOOOONG time at our booth yesterday just trying on bracelets and telling me all about the jewelry she used to make and her friends at school and the craft projects she volunteers to help kids with at her church and how she was conflicted over which bracelets to buy because she liked the big bright ones but said her parents didn't approve and wouldn't let her wear them if they could tell they were pride bracelets.

I talked to her for a while and finally she decided to buy two subtle ones and later I saw her walking with her mom, who gave me the stink eye. girl your poor kid wouldn't have to have heart to hearts with random adults at the craft fair if she felt safe having those conversations with you. give your mirror at home the stink eye. 👎

#i hope that teen finds some safe adults she can talk to and trust to be in her life. man.#it's wild to me that parents like this do not realize that they are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.#you have single-handedly created a home environment that has resulted in your kid trusting random strangers more than they trust you #you did that! I didn't do that.
