My pc is in a repair shop and I got nothing to do, so here's a list of fic ideas I'll probably never do anything with, in no particular order:

Ghost, SAS Lieutenant, needs to gather intel from a secret agent at a party. He doesn't know how the man looks, only the agreed upon signal. Cut to Soap, the secret agent, trying very hard to save Ghost from an enemy that somehow knew the signal and is now taking Ghost to a more "secure area".

Soap is a councilor at a prestigious summer camp, along with a few others. He doesn't really fit in with the rest, far too rich to relate to, so he spends most of his time taking care of a memorial for one Simon Riley, who died in the nearby lake 10 years ago. When Ghost, a local hunter, starts terrorizing the camp, Soap is somehow spared. Eventually Ghost goes on a murder spree, despite Soap's efforts to stop him, but when the other councilors tried to prank Soap, Ghost didn't really care to end their lives over it.

Ghost encounters an SAS soldier on the field, from a different squad. He soon finds out the soldier is non verbal. Which is a problem when they're in an active warzone, and he doesn't know sign language. Through a lot of pointing and miming, they somehow find a way to survive, and Ghost comes to like the company of 'Soap', as the man pointed to one when he asked for his name.

Soap is a famous actor, with a beautiful girlfriend, big movie on its way, and millions of fans across the world. His coworkers, Gaz, Price, and his bodyguard Ghost, are ones he considers close friends at this point. It all comes crashing down when he finds his girlfriend cheating on him. Not a day later, her room is trashed, threats and warnings to stay away from Soap carved into the walls. Soap and Ghost uncover the existence of a stalker, one that is slowly becoming more and more violent. All the while, Soap finds himself in his first romance movie, imagining his bodyguard in the place of his supposed love interest.

Ghost doesn't give attention to most soldiers on his base, and especially not to Soap MacTavish. The Scottish Sergeant is the most unserious, annoying bastard he ever had the misfortune of knowing. His view of him changes when they're assigned on a mission together, and Ghost witnesses just how skilled Soap really is. Over time, he finds out why Soap keeps on a mask of a bumbling idiot, and digs deeper into the strange behavior of his superiors. Namely, how they seem to almost sabotage Soap every step of the way.

Ghost and Gaz are sent on a mission in the Russian tundras, to salvage intel from an abandoned prison complex. Only, they soon find it's not abandoned at all - a single man is locked behind bars, surrounded by dozens of guards. After rescuing him, the 141 soon discovers he suffers from amnesia, and only remembers his callsign, Soap. As foreign forces continue to attempt to kidnap Soap back, and as his memory comes back, John MacTavish comes to a horrifying conclusion: he betrayed his old squad, and his capture was not accidental. His original mission? Infiltrate the 141, and bring it down.

Simon Riley, owner and butcher at his own small shop, suspiciously eyes the man that has been hanging around his shop for the last 15 minutes. He's going to kick him out if he doesn't buy anything, and he tells the man so, but the fear he recognizes in his eyes stalls him. Ghost catches a flash of a camera outside the window, and the man tells him he's actually hiding from 'them'. Ghost, built as he is, simply goes and scares them away. The man inside brightens, and introduces himself as John. From that day on, John comes back, bringing tea and breakfast at the early opening hours. Ghost finds it a little weird, but the company becomes comforting soon enough. Once, he let it slip to John that the shop isn't doing too well, and the very next day a slew of costumers arrived at his doorstep, muttering excitedly about a "Soap MacTavish". It's only when his old mates Price and Gaz come by the shop, that Ghost discovers his friend "John" is no other than the famous actor nicknamed "Soap". Simon doesn't understand the shock on Price and Gaz's face even after the name is revealed, and Soap loves him all the more for it.

ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels

there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.

anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

mmm thoughts of private executioner!blade, who is high priestess!kafka's bodyguard. well, more like her guard dog, as many fearfully seem to think.

he is aloof and gruff and rough around the edges, his name capturing it perfectly. when in the eyes of the public he either keeps to himself or stands ready by kafka's side, but when out he lurks in the shadows ready and waiting to carry out her death orders.

you, yourself, haven't had very many pleasant encounters with him... if you can even call them that. that being said, you haven't had many pleasant encounters with anyone. notorious for your... less than pleasant disposition, for a lack of better words, you have more people who'd rather see you run through than those you can call a friend.

in a dog-eat-dog world, you had no choice but to protect yourself. that, however, ultimately became your demise.

"oh? so you're the one sent to kill me. can't say i'm all that surprised."

standing before you is the feared executioner. his sword is tucked inside the sheath attached to his hip, that ever-present dark swirl of an aura stifling the air. he doesn't say anything, instead opting to silently stare down at your slumped and worn-out form. you find that his gaze doesn't bother you; rather, it's oddly comforting knowing someone will see you in your last moments.

"i've never asked you for a favour before, so this will be my first and last request for you." in all honesty, you're not sure where this chattiness stems from. considering you're currently in a holding cell under the crime of attempted murder towards kafka (a poisoned wine you were most definitely framed for, though you can't say you were surprised) and are awaiting for your turn to be under the guillotine for your public execution, you probably should be a little desperate towards the private executioner in front of you.

and yet, your mind is nothing if not peaceful.

with a huff, you relay your request, "can you make sure it's quick? painless, preferably, but i'd rather you just get it over and done with."

silence blankets the cold chambers. moisture accumulated along the cobble ceiling drip in a steady rhythm, like a clock ticking away the seconds. it's unnerving, almost, how there is not a single sound other than your impending countdown.

"why?" comes his low mutter, effectively causing a ripple within the stagnant air. you almost think you misheard him, but his following words cease the thought, "why won't you ask me for help?"

had it not been for the abrupt shuffle and clanging against the metal bars, you would have never looked up to see him in your last moments.

his scarred hands gripping the metal until his knuckles turn a ghastly white and blood dripping from his palms is what greets your sight. as your gaze slowly trails up, you almost let loose a laugh of disbelief; who would have thought blade, the infamous guard dog of the high priestess, could make such a desperate expression? one looking as though his whole world crumbled before him, in which he can do nothing but sit and watch.

(you will never know of the anger and desperation which coursed through his veins the moment he heard of your predicament. had it been anyone else, he wouldn't have cared. but you're not anyone else; you're you — unapologetically, wholeheartedly. it didn't take him long to hunt down those behind it, cutting them down without thought and putting an end to their miserable lives. he rushed as soon as he could when kafka gave him the order, no thoughts other than you, you, you, occupying his mind.

you will never know of the anguish which overcame him when he found you in such a state, your once healthy complexion and defiant gaze reduced to nothing but a tiredness which had always sat quietly behind your disposition. he's almost positive the muscle which unwillingly keeps him alive tore at the seems from your request, the acceptance in which you displayed causing his mind to go astray. even as he damn-near begs you to rely on him for help — to run away with him to some place no one knows of you and start anew there — you merely smile, resigned and peaceful.

you will never know of how much blade is willing to put on the line for you, for you never made it to see the complete and utter carnage he wrecked in your name.)

every time someone calls moirallegience just an alien qpr i wilt a lil like YEAH thats more or less the CLOSEST human thing but its also Literally Not That. like a qpr is fundanmentally not romantic and thats not even going into moirails whole Actual Purpose of calming ppl down. its just. aughhhhh pisses me off i see the confusion but, as aformentioned, aughhhhh

OH MY GOD THIS HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME TOO.... but i don't want to get petty at the people in my notes always saying "moirails are QPRs!" because in some ways that is the closest human thing so it's hard to be mad...

i think there's definitely some overlap in some ways. but NOT because moirallegiance and qprs are the same at all really, but INSTEAD because both relationships have unconventional boundaries defined by the people within them.

you know... like every relationship.

like the only reason the two have overlap is because they are both partnerships that emotionally care for each other but can choose to not bang (which is true for any romance anyway, even if it's considered abnormal). they're both just romances* that are unconventional to human norms, which makes people view them as the same thing when they're not.

i think the REAL issue here is that humans insist on using human words to understand things that are just, fundamentally, alien. can't we just appreciate alien romance for being... alien romance?

no, it's not platonic, it's romantic. it's just romantic in a way you aren't quite wired to understand, is all.

*in generalization, most QPRs are not romantic, because they are made up of aroaces who are life partners in a non-romantic way. however i want to disagree with you that none of them are romantic, because that is up to the partners in question.

finally finished my project of collecting voiceclaims that are as close as i can find for my hcs of the main HoO cast - just for funsies so it's not as perfect as I'd like but whatever, it was a neat exploration and exercise of me trying to think of literally any franchise for voice actors.

Leo got two cause I had trouble of finding good clips for the voiceclaim that's closers to my hcs for him (the second half of his section). Also got to play the fun game of digging through my art for decent doodles of each character.

Also fun fact, I am almost completely unfamiliar with 3 franchises in this video and was just digging for voice clips on youtube. Try to guess which ones.

okay nonny to be Perfectly frank I argue about this with myself (and fellow duke stans) all the time and im Sure this is not what you were thinking about when you sent this ask, i too have seen assholes saying that duke isn't part of the family for Reasons, i think he is part of the family full stop, HOWEVER

im a big "non nuclear family" found family batfam truther lmao, i have a chart that i made that is about half done about my relationship headcanons between bats

to make a long story short i Love Duke as Bruce's kid, do not get me wrong on that, i love to write it, i love to read it, but i think a better story would be what im calling "Uncle Bruce" in my head, Bruce is Duke's friend, and when his parents are better, their friends as well

Bruce is Duke's mentor, his friend, his foster father, etc. Duke's whole mission as a vigilante is driven by his relationship to his parents, he becomes a vigilante For Them, not to prevent this from happening again like Bruce, not to avenge them like Dick, not despite them like Cass and Tim and Steph, For Them to save Them

to me, its almost disrespectful for Duke to (within a year or so) of losing his parents turn around and call this (rich, white) man "dad"

Duke has a family, he doesn't need Bruce, he doesn't need the bats, but he Likes them so they become bonus family. As a kid, i had many "uncles" and "aunts" that were my parents friends and i love them like they are family, because they are

Another fun tidbit from Vegas:

A fan asked about the shirtless shot in that one episode. Apparently the call sheet said don't wear stripes and don't wear the same color and the boys didn't read the call sheet and showed up in shirts with stripes of the same color. (Lizzie: "this is the second time they had done this this season" ryan (yelling): "we have similar taste!"). Lizzie said well one of you has to change and shane joked he was gonna take off his shirt (shane at the show tried to say that was ryan but lizzie was like it was you) lizzie: "and ryan wasn't gonna let his friend get shirtless alone. He's a hero" so shane and ryan had joked about how they didn't have any backup shirts so they'd have to do the whole episode shirtless. Then they realized it would be funny to cut to them shirtless and then back to having shirts on to make people think they were going insane. Then ryan forgot they put that in the episode until he got a bunch of tweets. Then on stage they debated if ryan showed his nipples or not which ended with ryan saying he thinks you see half a nipple and shane going "you see half a nip in that? 'Grats" and ryan saying "thanks man".

Aka these guys are insane but them accidentally wearing similar shirts multiple times is so funny to me <3

It always makes me so sad when I see people complain about the lack of interesting tv shows these days like.... brother there is 4 decades worth of actually incredible and fun tv shows if you only dared open your eyes and look beyond the confinement of netflix...

I will add I totally understand it's also a Taste™ and Interest™ thing and that it may just boil down to a Special Interest™ thing but... just consider... The world is filled with SO many tv shows and they're all at your finger tips all you gotta do is dare reach out and touch the stars

i think discussions on how shipcourse has become very overblown are very important but i think just as important as discussions that shipcourse has become way bigger and more concerning than needed are discussions of why shipcourse has become the beast it is today, is there anything we can do to…not make shipcourse as big as it is, and is shipcourse a possible precursor to real world issues such as censorship of fictional media?

idk…i just don’t think saying “shipcourse is dumb and has hurt people” is really enough to unpack the actual damage shipcourse has and may continue to do.
