As the two young men walked the streets of the city, Tomer glanced over to Wigbrand, hands still held nonchalantly behind his head. “Ya still sure about this, Brandy? Ya might get mistaken fer a student.”
“All the more fun, then, ey?” The Duke glanced back with a glimmer in his eye. Tomer simply shrugged in response as they got closer to the University campus.
Once arriving in the courtyard, the two took a moment to take in the sights and see if they could spot someone rather out of place among the locals. After a moment of silence, Tomer asked, “So what’ll ya do if ya don’t see ‘im out here?”
“... I was thinking I might enroll for a class or two...~”
“Ha! Yer havin’ a laugh. ... Ain’t ya?” Brandy simply smiled in reply. “... Yer bein’ serious. Bloody ‘ell....”
Most magic system use the energetic links between objects and concepts - these are called correspondences.
Using Charts
Create a cheat sheet for your magicians to refer to.
This can be a list of astronomical signs and the kind of power/energy it amplifies, list of herbs and corresonding elements, etc.

I remember when someone said Rhys and Nesta would work because they’re “both scholars”.
The scholars in question being one person who likes building 3D models of the solar system…and the other person being someone who is addicted to reading faerie smut…
I finally did it! I think this marks me designing all the spherical Moons of the Planets in our solar system unless I missed some.
Anyways, I tried basing my designs off of dark academia and English aesthetics since these Moons are named after faeries in Shakespeare's works. I gave everyone a "leading color" also based off of their names:
Titania is the queen of faeries or queen of light, and her name means "giant, great one". As the leading figure in her group of Moons, she acts as their big sister or mother, taking care of everyone and ensuring their safety.
Oberon is, unironically, Titania's husband and is depicted as the king of faeries in Shakespeare's play. He is said to rule over the moonlight, dreams and all fairy rites. Thus I gave him the somewhat opposite color of orange/gold - turquoise/silver.
Umbriel means "shadow" in Greek. The Moon's surface is also really dark, thus the name and color.
Ariel means "lion of God" in Hebrew. She is an adventurous and joyful character, so I gave her the color yellow!
And lastly, Miranda. Her name stands for "to be wondered at" in Latin (or "worthy of admiration"). She is a loving and light-hearted character - I kind of imagine her becoming a fashion designer, hehe. The color red should suit her.

April’s full Moon often corresponded with the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America: Phlox subulata—commonly called creeping phlox or moss phlox—which also went by the name “moss pink.” Thanks to this seasonal association, this full Moon came to be called the “Pink” Moon.
Other celebrations:
• Walpurgis Night - April 30th
Also known as: May Eve
The origins of the holiday date back to pagan celebrations of fertility rites & the coming of spring. After the Norse were Christianized, the pagan celebration became combined with the legend of St. Walburga, an English-born nun who lived at Heidenheim monastery in Germany & later became the abbess there. Saint Walpurga was hailed by the Christians of Germany for battling "pest, rabies, & whooping cough as well as against witchcraft". Christians prayed to God through the intercession of Saint Walpurga in order to protect themselves from witchcraft, as Saint Walpurga was successful in converting the local populace to Christianity. Although it is likely that the date of her canonization is purely coincidental to the date of the pagan celebrations of spring, people were able to celebrate both events under church law without fear of reprisal.
Walpurgis Night is still a traditional holiday celebrated on April 30th in northern Europe & Scandinavia. In Sweden typical holiday activities include the singing of traditional spring folk songs & the lighting of bonfires. In Germany the holiday is celebrated by dressing in costumes, playing pranks on people & creating loud noises meant to keep evil at bay. Many people also hang blessed sprigs of foliage from houses & barns to ward off evil spirits, or they leave pieces of bread spread with butter & honey, called ankenschnitt, as offerings for phantom hounds.

i actually love the theory from sam on tiktok that how powerful a high lord is, is connected to the size of their lands. i think this makes much more sense than rhysand’s half faerie ancestry thingy because the night court is much larger than the other courts. it also poses an interesting idea of who the mortal lands belonged to prior to the war? i think something is mentioned about it once being the “black lands,” but whether it belonged to spring or not isn’t something i remember. if it was though, this would make the rivalry between the spring and night courts so much more dramatic and tense because it means that the spring court used to be on par with the night court but stopped being so after the wall rose; and now that the wall’s gone, it very well could be again.
and like, the political ramifications of that? the seasonal vs. solar court divide. the rivalry of the two major powers in prythian. that’s interesting.
