I’m probably just yelling into the void at this point because I don’t actually have many followers, but nonetheless I feel compelled to say something after the announcement for the new Avatar series.
STOP JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS!
I was not always a Korra fan, it took me a long time to appreciate her for the good Avatar she was. When I first watched the series, I could not stand Korra—at all. She aggravated me beyond all reason and as such I didn’t judge her or treat her fairly.
But I am a fairly judgmental person and as such, sometimes I have to force myself to be more reasonable and realistic in my expectations of a person and giving them grace. So I did. And once I did, I really came to love Korra. She made many mistakes, just as Aang did, Roku, Kyoshi, Yangchen, and every Avatar before her. She learned and the world changed because of it, both for the better and the worse. But just as the world changed, so did she, and she grew as a person into a much better person and Avatar. Not only does the series show that, but so do the comics.
Although I used to be one of Korea’s biggest haters, I am now one of her fiercest defenders. I still have a couple of qualms with certain plot points in the series *cough* Aang would’ve been an amazing dad *cough* but none of them link back directly to Korra’s value as a person and/or an Avatar.
This announcement was meant to spark discourse and discussion, mainly to incite curiosity and excitement about the series! That much is obvious and there is no doubt in my mind the writers intended that with the announcement. I’m also certain they knew by how they were framing it that some discussion would link back to Korra and the state of the world at her passing. However, I do not believe the writers intended to start a hailstorm of hatred all directed at Korra, restarting the years old and tired discussion of her value as a person and/or an Avatar. Do I think they could’ve framed it differently to not restart that discussion while still inciting curiosity and excitement? I’m genuinely not certain. That said, it is still the responsibility of fans to use critical thinking skills when discussing and analyzing a series. To dislike a character is understandable, to completely dismiss one as useless and awful because of your own bias is not.
All this in mind, WE DO NOT KNOW THAT KORRA CAUSED THIS GREAT CATACLYSM DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. Let us use our critical thinking skills and NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. Something happened, assumedly towards the end of Korra’s lifetime, though possibly even after her passing. Obviously there would probably have been some lead up during her lifetime to the cataclysm that left the world in the state it is in at the beginning of Seven Havens, but there’s no way to say it happened during or after her lifetime, at least not at this time. Either way though, I must repeat, WE DO NOT KNOW THAT KORRA CAUSED THIS GREAT CATACLYSM DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY. She is a good Avatar, in spite of the many mistakes she’s made, and I have full confidence that she did a great wonderful, albeit imperfect, job of balancing the world in every way she could. And I believe that that rings true throughout her entire life, even the life we have not seen thus far.
Even with all this, whatever state the world was in at her passing, disrepair because crises insurmountable to her abilities arose, or a tentative peace with problems creeping along the edges, Korra cannot be entirely blamed for whatever happens when she dies. Just as Kuruk’s time in the spirit world left the earthly realm imbalanced for Yangchen to deal with, Roku’s failure to take down Sozin left Aang to take down the Fire Lord and end a hundred-year-long war, and Aang letting Yakone remain unfound for Korra to deal with his son, Korra may have left some issues unresolved, due to her own mistakes and her own inability to resolve every single problem the world throws at her. Wan was the first Avatar, using the powers for good, but even he died unable to leave the world completely at peace, beginning the cycle so each Avatar could do their best to maintain balance.
Korra shouldn’t need such fierce defending because, just as every Avatar before her, she made mistakes, but she also accomplished a lot of good. People are far too quick to unfairly dismiss and hate on her when she did exactly what every good Avatar before her did: use her powers to help guide the world, albeit imperfectly.
We know practically nothing about Seven Havens from the small synopsis blurb, let alone what part Korra may have had in it. Stop jumping to conclusions and stop unfairly hating on Korra, she deserves better.

Sam Wilson IS Captain America
I saw Captain America: Brave New World and I personally think it was great. I get that I cannot change people's minds, but I think it was a great movie, I think Sam Wilson is a good Captain America and I like that this film had continuity that fit into the Marvel Universe. I also like that serious moments were not ruined by perpetual silliness.
I get it. Sam Wilson is not Steve Rogers, but then again Tim Drake is not Dick Grayson, Wally West is not Barry Allen and John Steward is not Hal Jordan. We really, really, really have to stop focusing on what the character is not and give a chance to what they are.
Hating on the new guy and always looking for something to fault them with is not an act of loyalty to the original character. I mean, Steve Rogers himself gave the shield to Sam. He chose him himself. Steve would be sad if people hated on Sam for just not being him, so don't do that. It's mean spirited.
PS: No, it was not an anti-white movie either. There were a lot of good white characters and from what I see, the next Falchion is going to be white which in itself is progressive, so it's all good. Cool it.

Gotham has always been weird, so when the groundskeeper at the cemetery noticed the Wayne kid’s plot was disturbed, he just chalked it up to more of the same ol’. Alright, so ‘disturbed’ may be a tad too light of a word, but what’s an empty grave in the grand scheme of Gotham? God knows in a city like this one, they could use all the burial room they could get. He figured he’d just jot it down on the website and hope nobody noticed for a while.
Too bad he didn’t account for the 13 year old boy in Bristol who periodically checks the cemetery’s website when he’s feeling particularly lonely.
Plot Removed.
Tim Drake stared at the two words under the heading for Jason Todd’s plot number. Removed? What do they mean ‘removed’? They can’t just remove a plot? That’s a person down there! That’s Robin down there! You can’t Remove Robin!
Calm down. Deep breaths. Assess the situation.
Robin has been dead for 5 months and 14 days. There is no reason for a grave to be removed that early, especially one of a member of such an affluential family. Chances are likely it’s a simple clerical issue. He can call first thing in the morning and make them aware of the mistake. He can have it all fixed in 5 hours.
Just a phone call.
In 5 hours.
Tim hates talking on the phone almost as much as he hates waiting.
Well it won’t be the first time he’s snuck out to head to Gotham proper at 1am. It can’t even really be considered sneaking out if there’s no one home to catch you.
Buses stop running at 2, so he layers a couple sweaters under his coat and grabs his best running sneakers so he can comfortably make the trek back.
Just a quick trip to settle his nerves. Maybe get a few shots in if he spots Batman, but really he just wants to see with his own two eyes that things are okay and Jason can rest.
It’s 1:37 by the time he gets to the headstone reading ‘Here Lies Jason Todd’ and the gaping, muddy pit in front of it.
This- This doesn’t make any sense. This is not removal. This is destruction. Desecration. Somebody did this. Somebody-
Assess the situation.
A hole in the ground, approximately 1.5 feet in diameter.
Mud and grass flung outward but with little force.
Large chunks of earth turned over and shoved away.
No signs of tool marks or clean lines of entry into the dirt.
Dragging claw marks.
Staggering, shuffled pairs of foot prints in the mud.
A trail of dirt.
Something… Something large clawed its way out of the ground here. Something large and bipedal and- and humanoid.
Tim refuses to jump to any conclusions he can see all the facts laid in front of him. He’s going to cautiously follow the trail and simply hope to any god listening that he isn’t the world’s first line of defense against the zombie apocalypse.
He’s been walking for 23 minutes and there’s good news and undecided news. Good news: he’s closing in on the target and the trail isn’t taking him out of the way so his trip home won’t be prolonged. Undecided news: The potential Zombie Robin is heading directly for Wayne Manor.
As zombie apocalypse news, this is very bad. From Tim’s collected observational evidence, his not-so-professional opinion is that Batman, faced with a horror movie level zombie of his dead son, would not respond well, and would likely not fight back.
In Batman and Robin news? Tim’s unsure. If Jason is simply back? What could that mean for them? Batman can have his Robin. He wouldn’t have to continue nearly killing others and himself every night in his grief. Jason could-
No. Stop. Do not jump to conclusions.
Hope only brings heartbreak.
What would Batman do? Get close and see if the target is a threat.
Target is male. Mid-teens. Dark hair. Pale skin. Leaning against surfaces as he walks. Appears injured and disoriented.
Minimal risk assessed. Approaching and attempting contact.
Target identity confirmed: Jason Todd.
“J-Jason?” It comes out as a croaked whisper. Jason shows no sign of acknowledgment.
Tim clears his throat, steps right in front of his path, and tries again.
“Jason. Jason, stop I want to help you.” Still nothing.
“Please, Jason. I can help, I promise I can help!”
Why isn’t this working?! Why can’t he just do something right for once?! He wants this to work, he wants to help Bruce, he wants to fix Batman, he wants to not be alone, he wants-
“Robin!”
Robin jerks to a stop.
Tim reached out his hand.
“Robin. Robin please, I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s really scary, I’m really scared. But I just want to help you. Help you find Batman. Help you get home.”
Jason just stares at him. Of course he does. Of course it’s not going to work. Why did he even bother hoping he could help?
Hope only brings heartbreak.
His sight blurs as his eyes fill with tears and he starts to lower his outstretched hand.
His arm is slowed as a cold hand weakly grasps his own.
“Don’t… scared… Bat… help… Dad… help.”
A relieved sob tears out from Tim’s chest and he gathers himself together. He yanks his extra sweater off and gently pulls it over Jason’s cold shoulders. Jason lets Tim drag his arm over his shoulders to try and carry some of his weight.
“Okay, Robin. Yeah. Your dad will help us.”
Batman will solve everything once Tim gets Robin home.

Okay, I read what I can from the epilogue and I just want to put out that I'm not saying I'm right about anything I say here because it's not an official release and I read from fan translations.
『Also refer to this post and this one!』
So, again, I was right about Ozawa meeting Yuji again and they have a little heart to heart.
Talking about snow, what they're doing in the same place, bit about Shibuya, it was cute.
But the ending of it was more open ended (which isn't something I hate to be honest).
Before anyone goes "Oh, they pulled a MHA 431, it's so homophobic", I get that it might feel that way but... in no way did Yuji express anything romantic to Ozawa, let alone any kind of feelings for her. Like, let's take a step back FOR ONCE and analyze what's up here. Here, take my hand. Come on and follow along with me.
If anything, from his side, he thinks she is a cool girl. However, he still barely knows her and I doubt him if confessed to he would be like "Oh, I like you like that, too, Ozawa! Let's date!" She's, at best, an acquaintance. Someone in passing, someone he did go to middle school with.
So, her epilogue isn't even homophobic. At best, it's once again just Ozawa being all starry eyed over Yuji who doesn't know how she feels.
It's actually sad when you think about it.
In no way is her feelings are mutual. If Yuko was looking for love, Yuji may not be that person for it. I get it, sometimes you'll have feelings for the one person who was nice to you, but that doesn't mean it will be the only person.
Yuko being too busy hung up on Yuji may have missed a person who likes in the way she likes Yuji. What if there was someone else who did pay attention to the way she writes? Who did meet her at some point and got to know her and liked her for who she was?
And if not that, Yuko should have took Yuji's words to heart and realized how great she is and learn to love herself a little more.
The thing about the middle school flashback I feel, isn't just a flashback about her, but also to show the kind of person he is.
It shows that he's attentive and thoughtful. But also that his actions tend to be swayed by other people, even forcefully. Which happens often for Yuji. He told those boys he didn't like anybody and when asked again if he had to choose, he choose someone who he thought was a neat person. Those boys forced Yuji to give another answer despite him saying he didn't like anybody the first time.
If anything, that flashback serves as a more gentle example of who Yuji is contrasting to Rin, another person who knew Yuji when he was a middle schooler (Rin is actually older than Yuji). In Rin's flashback, we see Yuji defend a kid that was being picked on.
Yuji was being attentive, he didn't ignore a kid being bullied. He stepped up and told them to leave him alone and when they didn't and decided to charge at Yuji, he was then forced to act violently. In turn, Rin was left with the impression he had of Yuji, just as Yuko was.
Bringing up the snow bit, it was cute. I liked it! Yuji being compared to snow. But this is not the first time someone has came across Yuji and thought of snow.
What was the incident they bring up this chapter? The Shibuya Incident, right. And who did Yuji have to fight and had cowering by the end of it? Mahito, yes, him. And other than a wolf, what else did Mahito imagine when he became fearful of Yuji? SNOW!
So like with Rin, Mahito's perception of Yuji is opposite of Yuko's. She got to experience a gentle side which she admires. Rin and Mahito got his violent side, which they feared.
With all that being said, even with this epilogue ending the way it did, it doesn't smell "canon" to me. Especially, on Yuji's end of things.
Yuji may have a type of girl he likes, but he is also someone who doesn't express romantic interest in anybody.
While this is Yuko's epilogue, I do feel like she is also just another character to showcase the kind of person Yuji can be. She being present shows a gentle side of him while characters like Rin and Mahito shows his violent side.
And no, again, I don't think this means they're canon. So I beg, certain shippers who like the same ship I do, don't jump on Yuko, Yuji or Akutami for thinking this is some homophobic chapter when the romance between a girl and a boy here once again went nowhere.
It really didn't feel like Akutami-sensei was really trying to make them canon. And given the track record of F/M ships in this series? Yeah... no...

So rewatching "The Fires of Idirsholes", I realized the reason why it seems Merlin was out of character in killing Morgana was that when I first watched it I assumed Merlin felt he had no choice and had done the deed reluctantly justifying it as the greater good while still caring about Morgana.
Rewatching it the second time, I realized that in Merlin's point of view based on what the Dragon had said, Morgana had willingly been involved in the sleeping curse, at least according to the Dragon. Merlin does not have the knowledge that we, the audience, have that Morgana is ignorant and innocent in what is happening to those around her, but you can tell based on her expressions she seems to have an inkling that it might have to do with her. Much of her expressions throughout the sleeping crisis when she is with Arthur and Merlin is not only full of fear and horror, but also guilt. Horror that she might have unwittingly agreed to be part of a plot to help destroy her home due to her admission to Morgause that she would do anything to take Uther down, and guilt because this was her fault.
Whether Merlin recognizes her expressions or not, I'm unsure, but the moment the Dragon reveals Morgana's part, he automatically believes her guilty. The next scene has him looking at her with both anger, disdain, and suspicion. He responds to Morgana's genuine words of gratefulness for his friendship with coldness. I think she can feel his coldness, hence why she opens up to him in order to win back his trust that she must have sensed she lost without recognizing why. Perhaps due to the belief that her magic is protecting her or the fact that she's the magical person in the room in her own eyes, she felt Merlin was blaming her? Idk. Though deep down Morgana probably agrees since it seems to me she was having suspicions that the reason she wasn't affected like the others was due to Morgause and the fact she agreed to help Morgause take down Uther which she seemed to be regretting.
Merlin also notably abandons her when a knight almost tries to kill her, possibly hoping the knight would do the deed instead of he.
All of this points out that Merlin killing Morgana wasn't out of character. The moment he heard she was the source of the sleeping curse, that she was involved, was the moment he decided she was his enemy and that she had to die. And he was willing to let that happen. Their prior friendship didn't matter anymore. She was now the deceitful wicked and dangerous witch Kilgarrah claimed her to be and a danger to his destiny.
The only thing about Morgana he seems to feel is regret. In the end, when he was holding her as she was choking, he looked grief-stricken but also angry. I think he felt betrayed by Morgana for her actions and what she forced him to do but also sad and regretful that he had to kill someone he felt was similar to him. Someone who was once his friend.
Anyway, I guess that's why he never apologizes. In his mind, it was never his fault. She forced him to do it. He had no choice.

loved this episode for many reasons, but the thing i loved about it most perhaps, is that the episode didn't try to prove isabella wrong. she said that it's not all good and evil, that for her the divide is beautiful and ugly, that it's art for art's sake. she's doing something the church definitely doesn't approve of, and yet by the end of the episode, she isn't portrayed as being particularly in the wrong. in fact, the suspicion on her was misplaced the entire time.
that link above goes to the wikipedia page for aestheticism (rather than the page for the phrase itself, though you'll find the link for that there) because it feels most applicable in this context. in an age where a concerning number of people decry 'immoral' art and feel that all art should be didactic, that it should always make clear who is bad and who is good, lest the easily confused audience think that the morally bad things being shown to them are okay, it becomes defiant to say no, my art will exist for the sake of art. i will explore whatever themes i choose to and i will find the beauty in them, regardless of their 'value' to society.
evil as a series has a lot to say about society. it also has very morally complex characters and it doesn't punish them for that. kristen in particular has murdered and cheated, and she has remained as compelling and interesting since the very first episode of the show. we get to explore all her desires and shame and guilt and are never told to condemn her for any of them.

Something that will always get me about this fandom is the lengths they will go to protect Talia for no reason. Like no fucking reason.
They'll complain and cry when she's written villainously even though she's been portrayed as a straight up villain since Death of the Maidens (Which gave reason to their shift).
They'll complain and cry when she's written as morally gray like her how she's been portrayed since her conception. (This means complicit with genocide of 90% of the human race and eco-terrorism along with destroying countless cultures and meddling with affairs that don't concern them. Which is a bad thing.)
Talia is not and has never been nor will ever, if she is STILL working with the league, be portrayed as MORTALLY GOOD and get in a relationship with Bruce by DC.
And the thing that will get me is that they just want Talia to be with Bruce! It's like they don't care about their characters as individuals as long as they end up together or DC makes their relationship more important that it really is/was. Not that it was a just a blip, but since like after the early 2000's, it's clear that there isn't romance in their relationship anymore. (Unless DC comes and fucks me over.)
Just read the shit that they're in and stop complaining! And stop spreading it in the main tags too!
Talia Al Ghul is a villain. From her conception as a character she has always been Bruce's adversary. Is there romantic/sexual tension, sure. Is that the same with villains like Poison Ivy, yes again.
If Talia Al Ghul stays a villain (which does mean if she still works with the LoA) she can't get with Bruce or they have to have a short, sexual, tragic FAILED relationship.

I have thoughts about Able and Tron
Okay so. Able *cannot* be from the first grid, the ENCOM grid, right? Like, idk he just can’t be. Why would Flynn port over some random mechanic.
And yet. In the second episode Able reveals he has a FIRST GEN LIGHT BIKE. Y’KNOW. FROM THE ENCOM GRID.
Tumblr media
(Interesting to note is that Mara distinctly says it’s “one of a kind” when she observes it)
And then notice how Tron *never* rides a first gen light bike in the show, even in the flashbacks, despite being the most likely to own one considering he comes from the ENCOM grid.
Tumblr media
DID. DID TRON GIVE ABLE HIS “one of a kind” LIGHT BIKE??
Take into account that Able really likes that bike. Sure it’s an old thing so ofc he would, but still. Able calls it his favorite bike.
Tumblr media
Remember that Tron isn’t one to show his affection through words, rather in actions (Beck has to be on the brink of losing his memories for him to finally call him his friend).
Able also has a Bit. Again, something from the ENCOM grid, and while it seems the Bit belongs to everyone in the garage, it’s often seen in Able’s office. It even has its own stand.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where does he get these things? Is it another thing Tron gave him? There’s no currency to speak of in the Grid (I can only imagine the black market for stolen disks is to get in favor with the Occupation by providing the disks of wanted programs. Energy is simply a resource, not a currency), he couldn’t have ‘bought’ it anywhere.
Tangentially related, I know that people have noticed the Yori suit Easter egg, but I haven’t seen many think about the implications of Able having it in his office.
Tumblr media
Why would he? Tron has enough space at his place to store the suit if he wanted to. Why put it in Able’s office? Does it imply Able had some sort of relationship with Yori? Does it imply he’s thinking about her at the start of episode 12? Why does Tron keep giving Able things and why does he trust him to such an immense degree to keep the suit of his former lover in his office? That seems like a huge thing to trust Able to keep, especially considering how Able and Tron’s relationship is shown to be strained at best.
Pair this with the fact they’re often portrayed as a bickering couple talking about a program who fills a surrogate son role, and you got me smelling queerness imma be real.
Either this is a kinda unusual way to imply a history between Tron and Able before the reveal, or they’re queer as fuck (maybe even both).

Been saying it on twitter but for everyone on here terrified panicking Robin Buckley is going to die in s5 because she wasn't specifically named as being in the big group filming that epilogue scene, may I remind you that the paparazzi failed to spot her in THESE photos:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like... my girl is RIGHT THERE but not a single person who took or shared these pics named her. I was the one having to convince people that was her.
If they couldn't even spot her THERE, then god knows what other times they haven't spotted her, or ANY other cast member. They're dumb as fuck. Don't trust their word.
