i want to meet and interact with and befriend more systems, but i think that a large issue that i have with most system-oriented communities online is that they're sooo... alter focused. specifically introject focused.

i'd like a discord server where instead of every channel being "i have 27 my hero academia introjects and 13 of them don't get along", we can all just play minecraft or something and it just so happens that we're systems.

don't get me wrong, this disorder impacts every aspect of my life, but can't there be any spaces where we talk about something else???

edit: this is primarily addressing minor systems!! any system can be put in danger by doing this, but minors are especially at risk.

this point has probably been made 700 times already but can we please stop normalizing putting every crumb of alter information into your intros/descriptions. i'm really tired of seeing people list their trauma holders & let their littles roam free online & minors listing their sexual protectors publicly, PLEASE stop putting targets on you. yeah your intro or pk description might look pretty but someone is going to take advantage of that information eventually and/or publicly blast you.

^ this also applies to triggers btw, even positive ones. you may think you're preventing something, but if you tell the internet not to do something then they're just gonna do it more, especially if your triggers are more obscure/"weird".

i say this as someone who used to do all of this too, i thought it was proving a point and showing the fakeclaimers that i really AM traumatized!! yeah no it doesn't work like that. don't try to prove yourself to people who will never listen to you, protect yourself please.

i am SO tired of constantly having to defend my existence to random people on the internet. i, for example, am *the host* of my system. i front 80% of the time. are you saying im not allowed to talk in your server 80% of the time?

syscord did serious damage to my perceival of things, discussions, and people's lives/identities. it forced me into condenscendingly correcting and brutally "educating" people who weren't aware of every little thing. it made me a much more abrasive and cold individual on the basis that i should always be correcting everyone on everything at all times and enforcing the same one-size-fits-all mold of "morality" onto them. it made me angry, aggressive, frustrated, isolated, scared, and it was absolutely not worth it.

with this post, i hope to help other people realize how a lot of syscord spaces manage to radicalize people into being aggressive, extremely demeaning and bitter people, by default. this doesn't apply to every system-based discord server, but the big ones where you get dogpiled and then shittalked for anything wrong you do — instead of, you know, being properly talked to like you're a person

it is a terrible place to be in for anyone, let alone people struggling with their mental health. do not force yourselves to stay in syscords for templates or decor, its genuinely not worth it. extremely harsh environment; namely the syscords where its filled with exclusionist 15 year olds who constantly pick at everything and anything to make you problematic. do not stay in these spaces, its not worth it. i promise you there are many resource servers where you won't feel like you're in a killing game with five hundred people at your neck

Hot take but I don’t think when a system is asked to take accountability it’s always the systems fault. First of alters are always there for a reason they form from when we are in a stressful situation or need care/protect/gatekeep etc etc. a lot of the times I’ve been called out for my system “acting out” was whenever my “interact with caution” alter would be fronting or the ones that you’re not allowed to talk to at all. But despite this boundary people would still provoke or try to talk to that specific alter despite us as a system recommending not to do that for that exact reason. Now I don’t say what my alter did www right (insulted my friends threatened and harassed people) but if our boundaries could’ve just been respected and you wouldn’t of have provoked such an aggressive alter this whole thing could’ve been avoided. See,now I don’t say it’s an excuse but it’s rare that alters act out for no reason. Most of the time it’s because they feel threatened or scared so they behave strangely or act out. For me personally our alters like that can be normal as long as you treat them normally or are very cautious with them. Whenever people tell me “x alter did —-“ my first question is on what happened. I doubt my avenger alter would’ve harassed someone for fun! I mean their whole role is being an avenger. Besides they are normal to people outside the system if they don’t feel scared so whenever I get reports like that I honestly can’t feel like I am in the wrong for it. You provoked, talked, scared and aggressive/sensitive alter and they responded badly. What did you expect honestly?

No matter what if my system caused serious damage for no reason (which has never happened there was always a reason as to why my alters did “bad stuff”) I will take accountability and even if they did bad stuff for good reasons I will take accountability but I won’t ever feel sympathy for you if you know alters like that act out and still enable them.then get mad that they react like they do. That’s your fault. Fuck around find out

for some reason most of our wildest syscord tales have to do with the closed culture stuff. i respect that some cultural practices and names may legitimately be closed, but the way people are acting and the things people are claiming are 'closed' is getting ridiculous.

had a syscord mod tell me the name john was from a closed culture and nobody should use it. had a DIFFERENT MOD from a DIFFERENT SERVER tell me the # symbol was closed. the. the fucking hashtag. im so serious.

This is someone who posts daily to Systems Cringe. Now, believe it or not, I'm not a system - so I don't have a dog in this fight. But what I am is a good human being. So naturally, someone who spends their time 24/7 bullying people online made me go "yuck"!

but.. who are you letting get under your skin? let's recap!

these people spend all day on reddit, discord, and god knows where else discussing and posting about people they look feverishly online for to post (hi, you found my post by accident, but I'm not a system)!

they think the world revolves around them and DID. they think that everybody has a grasp on syscourse and people you meet in real life will ask about your trauma to see if you pass the validity test or not. but no, because you guys have never been outside, here's how it usually goes talking to someone else IRL: "hi, nice weather today, isn't it?"

they're unhappy with their lives and themselves. let's take a look at the example we picked for today's lesson - they constantly post on Reddit, red flag, right? but what they post about shows how pathetic their life truly is

they're obsessed with my spouse, posting them daily, but sorry, we're monogamous! find another relationship to join and crash..

they talk about how the world sucks because nobody notices their art. I would feel bad but.. karma much?

they post yaoi hazbin art and discuss gay hazbin hotel ships. please, don't let a yaoi viziepop shipper ruin your day - they clearly don't have much going for them already. (no offense to viziepop fans.. smh)

they are OBSESSED with character.ai to the point of posting about it regularly as well. I mean, I knew they needed to touch grass, but wow.. make some real friends! your waifu robot doesn't really love you (or exist!)

they're an adult but browse minor-oriented spaces like teenager subreddits - WEIRD much?

they also just have very weird stances which doesn't sit right with me, especially given the above - like defending the option to romance a child in a video game (because she's actually 200000000, duh) and comparing dating someone with DID to dating an anime child.. wow..

and so much more.. horrible takes and sad cries for help...

So what's the point? I just want to remind everyone that the people on the other end of the screen are often super miserable and unhappy with their own lives, riddled with their own flaws, and use others as a punching bag to feel better about themself and project their insecurities on - like this dude! As someone who again is not a system, regardless of any takes on syscourse, bullying is just objectively pathetic. Do better. And if you're a victim of their bullying, don't let them get to you.

I'm gunna say it. "AAC" discord emojis are more inaccessible than accessible AND they're stupid. If you add them to your discord server for "non verbal" people to use, you are making things actively more difficult for blind/visually impaired people. Have you ever had a screen reader try to read that shit? It's a pain in the ass I'll tell you that.

If you can type using letter or word emojis, you can type using letters or words. Your refusal to do so makes things so much harder for blind people and shows just how little you actually care about "accessibility".
