Task failed

I was throwing dinner together in a bit of a hurry this evening, and needed a vegetable for my daughter, who doesn't like the sauerkraut everyone else was going to be having. I grabbed a half-ripe tomato out of a basket of green and slighty-less-green tomatoes on the counter, and sliced it to fry. I sliced it too thin. I tossed it in the skillet that I had fried the pork chops in, and salted them heavily. The pork chops had been seasoned with a complicated spice mix and soy sauce.

The tomato slices, laboring under the dual hardship of being slightly ripe and a bit too thin, promptly turned to mush. Salty, sour, orange mush. And my god was it delicious! Salty/sour/savory is not a flavor combo I use often, but DAMN.

I'm going to have to remember that one.
