Task Force Z #8 Preview: All-new team! Same old problems! After losing everything, Task Force Z has finally discovered who their real enemy is. Jason and his team are on the run, underpowered, and outgunned. But everyone knew this was really just a Suicide Squad when they signed up, right? One way or another, they are going to finish this. Only one thing stands in their way…but that one thing…

"Does [Dick] seem pissed?"
No, Jason, he just knocked your helmet straight off your head for no reason. He likes getting pushed in front of moving trains actually. /s

being manipulative is basically a requirement for being a bat and I do love that for them. Bats that lie together fly together <3. Whole family is gaslighting gatekeeping and girlbossing

You know, I think there's something so interesting and fucked up in the way Rosenberg writes Jason's current status and relationship with the rest of the batfamily in Task Force Z. Something about the way that it's made abundantly clear that all the normal things you'd expect from a 'reconciliation,' like forgiveness and trust, are completely absent from this dynamic.
If anything it kind of just makes it seem like it's built pretty much entirely off acceptance. Not even like mutual acceptance of each other's flaws and different values, but Jason's complete acceptance of his family's values versus his family's "acceptance" of the fact that he's an unstable mess. It completely reframes Jason's rejoining of the family from something mutual to an unconditional surrender on Jason's end. Which, honestly, is always how it came off in the first place, but I didn't expect an author to actually be honest about it.

Jason in a suit on that one cover by Cullen Hamner and on that one panel he cheered to provoke Bruce lives in my mind rent free so I’m drawing him in a suit. Contrary to popular belief that he’s rebellious and everything and that he won’t wear a suit to the gala, I think he’s fine with wearing luxury stuff, cuz he takes it off as soon as he puts it on lmao (i swear idk how he managed to take off the damn suit in the middle of a damn rampage with everyone in the lounge running and shit, but tbh I could be wrong cuz I passed on the comic pretty quickly at that part lmao, but the idea that he’s ok with suits stays!)

Homecoming by Mountainfall
He's tired. He's tired of proving himself to people who will never be satisfied. With that in mind there's only one place he can think to go.
