Right off the bat, let’s start with Riddle. You and Riddle’s mother will never get along. She and her son have much to discuss anyway, and we know how Riddle even mentioned that the Queen of Hearts has a lovely relationship his parents could learn from. If Mrs. Rosehearts is strict with her own child, imagine how much more she’d be with you! She probably has a list of acceptable spouses for Riddle, so just imagine her shock when he brings you home—shock that quickly turns to rage when she realizes you’re magicless. She will be a horrible mother-in-law. Mr. Rosehearts, however, will most likely be courteous about your relationship with his son. In fact, I can see him helping you and Riddle move somewhere away from their house in the Queendom of Roses. He’ll probably attend your wedding, but Mrs. Rosehearts? Probably not. It will take a long time before Mrs. Rosehearts can accept you wholeheartedly, and when she does, tears will be shed.

The Diamond family is harder to gauge. Mr. and Mrs. Diamond would likely respect your relationship enough to make sure you’re comfortable. Cater’s sisters, on the other hand, might urge you to become their new doll—though not as extreme as they did with him. Overall, they will accept you as part of their family. And if Cater doesn’t want to attend family reunions, they’ll accept that, though they can’t help but feel a little hurt and neglected. Maybe they’ll even start to reflect on how they’ve treated their son.

The Clover family are lovely people! When Trey introduces you to his parents, they’ll erupt into cheers, baking you pastries and a personalized cake tailored to your tastes. They won’t care if you’re magicless; as long as you make their son happy, that’s all that matters. Mr. and Mrs. Clover will even offer you and Trey the chance to manage their bakery. It’ll be up to you both whether to accept. Overall, they’ll be great in-laws, and they might even make wonderful grandparents.

Deuce’s mom, Dylla, is such a girlboss! As a mother-in-law, she’ll be the cool type, letting you hang out with her at car races, driving trucks, or doing anything outdoorsy. She might even suggest that you, she, and Deuce get matching small tattoos. She’s very chill and will always welcome you with open arms. You’ll have no trouble getting along with Deuce’s mom—sometimes, Deuce even wonders if his mom loves you more than him.

Ace’s family will welcome you with open arms—and with a bunch of pranks! Mr. Trappola is a normal human, so he won’t hold your magicless status against you. Ace’s older brother, however, will endlessly tease him with some good old brotherly banter. Mr. and Mrs. Trappola will probably shed tears on your wedding day, making it a fun, sentimental, and most of all, enjoyable occasion.

The Kingscholars are royalty, so let’s be realistic: they’ll most likely not approve of Leona, their youngest son and second prince, marrying a normal human, especially a magicless one. They probably have plans to arrange a marriage with a fellow beastman from another noble or elite family, and your relationship could cause a scandal. But if Leona insists, then a wedding will happen. It will take a lot of convincing for the Kingscholars to accept you, especially since Mr. Kingscholar is ill. Falena will most likely be the first to accept you, either out of love for his brother or perhaps because he sees you as a key to fixing his strained relationship with Leona. Cheka, on the other hand, will love you! In fact, he might prefer your company over his lioness mother’s, though he won’t admit it.

Grandma Bucchi will shed tears of joy when Ruggie brings you home and introduces you as his lover. She’ll feel relieved that Ruggie has found someone who’ll take care of him—a lifelong companion, since she’s not as strong as she used to be. Prepare for a deep heart-to-heart with Grandma Bucchi, who will also show you pictures of baby Ruggie! She may even drop hints that she wants a grandchild from the two of you. Yes, she takes care of the other beast children in the neighborhood, but it wouldn’t hurt to give her a mini Ruggie.

The Howl family will accept you wholeheartedly. They believe that wolf beastmen like them have only one soulmate, and if Jack has found that in you, who are they to oppose? They’re not overly bearing, but they might occasionally ask whether you and Jack plan to have little Howl children. Jack’s siblings will adore you!

Mr. Ashengrotto will likely insist on having both a sea and land wedding, though Azul probably planned on that anyway. They won’t be toxic as in-laws and will likely dote on you, but they’ll definitely want to take care of any little Ashengrotto babies you have. Sometimes, you might wonder if they’re a bit too attached to their grandchildren…

The Leech family will also welcome you. If you decide to marry one of the Leech sons—or both of them (polygamy isn’t unheard of in the sea; hey, different customs)—they’ll make sure you feel at ease. Mr. Leech, who reminds you so much of Floyd, might ask if you know self-defense. When you say no, he’ll laugh and assure you that his sons will protect you anyway. He finds it amusing that Floyd calls you Shrimpy, though there’s a certain air of intimidation when he speaks... Mrs. Leech, who reminds you of Jade, is beautiful and speaks just like her other son. She’ll ask you questions like, “My dear, how can you protect yourself when you are magicless?” with a smile on her face. At one party dedicated to your arrival into the Leech family, you saw firsthand how Mr. Leech made everyone sign...something. When you asked the twins about it, they dismissed your concerns and assured you not to worry. They’ll be cool in-laws, but they won’t disclose any personal business with you—only with their sons. No matter how much you ask about their family business, because you want to help, you’ll get nowhere (it's for your safety, they say). The Leech family will dote on you, but there’s always an underlying sense that you’ve been inducted into something much larger and deeper than just a family of merfolk eels. Sometimes they have unexpected visits to your house in land, and you had a feeling that Mrs. Leech might dote on you only so she can spend time with her Leech grandbabies...

Thenn..... arrhrhhgh I thiiiink I went looking for eevees, but I found Anastasia(Shiny Kricketot) in the process and kept her. Then I picked one of the eevees I caught at random and kept him. Then lastly I found a Mareep(Bonnie) by surprise and kept her.

And yeah that's how I pictured her XDD its becuase I use her the most out of all my Pokémon-

Now she's not bossy and doesn't have a leader or "I'm better that you guys" complex, none of that! She's just very intelligent and usually very level headed and calm. I can imagine that she's gotten the team safely through a lot of complicated situations and her plans/advice have rarely led the group astray.

Plus since I use her so often, I like to think that she's one of the most powerful Pokémon on the team. If not the most powerful. So whenever the group was met with a great danger, Gloria was probably the one to rescue them <XD

So the whole group kind'a gravitates behind her and lets/wants her to take the lead most of the time. Especially when things get complicated or dangerous!

As for your question.. I'm afraid I don't understand/cant explain it--

Lets say I wanna draw Mario. I imagine what the drawing might end up looking like in my head, what pose I'll draw him in and what colors I'll use.. And then I just.. draw it. It might not look exactly like what I pictured but its probably close enough.

As for the Dry Bones thing, that's what I meant by "not sure how it fits into the AU yet" 😅 Who'd they fight? Why did they fight? When did this happen? No idea. Its all just a neat concept with no structure yet :// And beyond the awkward living situation with the Dry Bones today, I haven't really thought about how the Koopa culture has been changed by the war. That's just way too much thinking and I'm way too sick to bother trying to figure it out atm- 💀💔 But maybe someday I'll think it through!

Now Luigi, I had this idea that he had a bizarre encounter with a 1-UP and was later bitten by a Goomba. Over the span of say... 5 days or so..? Luigi slowly got weaker and weaker until eventually he became bedridden and actually died- He came back to life moments after but it still completely shook Mario and Luigi's worlds for a sec there-

I had intended to draw a comic about this, and I made a sketch about it in the past.. but around the time I thought of this idea my Mario phase was kind'a passing over so I didn't feel like making it- <XDD

As for a potential sequel, I would like to see Wario, Waluigi and Toadsworth. Not sure why Toadsworth wasn't in the first movie- he absolutely should have been. That deep voiced purple..? council..? toad guy?? Totally should have been Toadsworth :/

And my request for the Wario bros is that they are taken seriously. 😅🤣

Fanart of my own fanfiction (Chimera Teto x Android Miku)

Good news! When I woke up and looked at my art again today, I liked it, so here's the uncolored version! I trust you tumblr people, so here you go! You may view. This technically means I've drawn UTAU Teto (here) and SynthV Teto, but I really want to color this and take my time doing so, so here are the lines before it turns into something else hahaha 😂😂😂 Read More for the stuff I wanted to write last night but was too tired to (also the art time lapse)

I showed like two WIPs of different ideas on Twitter but none of them were this LOL (just goes to show how much I wanna draw and see of these two specifically) but the reason I decided to go with this is 'cuz that fanfic I wrote in like one day really got me excited and it made me really want to draw them as I was imagining more stuff about them. Here I'll talk about what I had in mind

I love chimera Teto, especially her majestic wings, and what I drew here is basically inspired by that! Teto's basically the only "living, sentient" thing around Miku so far (I dunno how to approach adding more creatures just yet), which makes Miku extra interested in her. But basically Miku likes Teto's wings and tail too and is very fascinated by them.

I had an idea where Miku is just holding or playing with Teto's tail out of nowhere and complimenting the heck out of her, and that was condensed into this piece. It was too crowded on Miku's side to have Teto's tail there as well, but the reason Teto's embarrassed (tsundere is nice, aint it xD) is 'cuz Miku is indeed praising the heck out of her. Calling her cute and saying how cool her wings are and whatnot.

The dialogue kinda goes like, "Your wings are so cool! And I really like how expressive your tail is! I wonder what I would do with a tail. It's so cute! Actually, now that I think about it, all of you is really cute!!" (Teto, embarrassed: "Stop talking now.") wwww

Miku does have a kinda tail actually! It's the chain on top of her skirt. As an android, I was thinking it works as sort of a battery plug or USB or something. I can show off more of that later (since it's really small here lol) but she can use it to receive electricity and recharge herself, I guess~. (Note to self: make it bigger?)

I haven't shown off much of my art style, but most (normal) characters usually don't have pupils. (See: this Teto, who's a living breathing creature.) As a result, I decided to give Miku pupils (kinda robot-like) to make her seem like more of a robot. She also wears the thing (headphones) over her ears, of course, which I can also use to make her seem more robot-like. There's no green flashing of code in her eyes right now but I might draw that sometime too, after my loads of other ideas...

Teto's wings aren't fragile. They're probably firm, hard, and could even be scaly/rough (up to my own whims or the reader's own preference). Her letting Miku touch her (wings) is probably a huge display of trust/confidence. Teto's wings are strong enough to carry her far distances and even allow her to fly in bad weather, I think. It's up to Teto herself how much energy/desire she has to do things like that though.

This is mentioned in the fic too, but Teto probably folds her wings a lot so they don't get in the way. She's kinda like a bird. I think her silhouette against the sun or moon, with full wingspan, is probably majestic (I'm imagining the Batman symbol for some reason lol). I know some people color Teto's wings as purple, but I specified black in my fic to match her tail. ^^

In order for her wings to breathe, there are probably holes in the back of her outfit to accommodate them, but they're only big enough for the wings (ellipses/ovals probably): she either tears/cuts holes into the shirts she wears for her wings or they already fit her wings so there's no problem. I wonder if Teto made her UTAU outfit herself in this setting. xD (A girl has to pass the time SOMEHOW plus she's probably at least a little bit handy when it comes to clothes and stuff (survival).)

If, while I'm coloring, I need to make adjustments to the seating and lineart and all that, I will, but I figured I'd show off what made me stay up 'til 5 AM last night and then get embarrassed to post 'cuz I thought I wasn't finished yet. I woke up and I liked it, so I'm just gonna put it in this here blog. c:

🌹 Who's the flirty one and who gets shy and flustered?

I think at the beginning of relationship, he was the flirtier one, and he sure knew just what sweet lines to say seeing everything for its true worth, including flaws! She used to get flustered a lot while romance was still new. Further into relationship though, this side of Nanaya truly blossomed and she became more confident and bold about it! Midra, on the other hand, became more exhausted and nervous. Constant harassment, often very dangerous, by Inquisitors. But even in the safety of his own manse he became the type to skip sleeps and be too focused on research, that made him very stressed and no longer initiating flirting. It was then up to Nanaya to flirt him into relaxing for once, and she was good at it!

🥣 Who is more skilled in the kitchen?

It feels to me like they are both equally good at cooking, and both love doing it! The catch is that they prefer different foods XD However, this is not the case of each cooking for themselves or one who cooks deciding everything; they compromise and accommodate! For example, Nanaya who likes spicy food that Midra doesn't will cook a less-spicy portion for him! Midra not wanting to burn his insides certainly has aged sfdjhfdhss

Midra would be the most responsible driver, letting Nanaya to just chill and stare in the window! Nanaya, on the other hand.....

Again, aside of funny hypothetical scenarios like the one above, they are both quite reasonable people. Midra IS the one more likely to let bad things truly get under his skin and start to think of drastic decisions where Nanaya would ground him, but he still needs prolonger exposure to the negative factor to start 'losing it'. Not just talking the Obvious Thing, it is just his personality in general! Him crossing his psychological limit begins with twitching a bit and rambling to himself, basically ignoring the other person present and spiralling into reflecting on the past through very negative lense and talking about what he will do. So yeah, the good thing about how he experiences losing temper is that there is enough time to figure out what he is going to do and take precautions or plan how to help him. He is like volcano that started to smoke and will only erupt in a while, not like sudden explosion! With Nanaya, though... Good luck making her lose temper. Even her anger will be cold.

🍊 Who likes sweet foods and who goes for salty snacks?

Neither of them likes sweets much! Having like a pair of cookies once a week is Midra's final form. Nanaya would appreciate salty snacks though! Do not let her anywhere modern AUs, it will be a LOT of chips and doritos everywhere x)

📙 Who would be the tutor and who would need the tutoring?

Midra is literally called sage and 90% of his Manse is just books, so I am pretty sure he would primarily be a tutor for anyone, not just Nanaya :p At the same time, I would not say he is that perfect wise man archetype; if the subject is not very interesting to him, he will struggle to give it proper focus and respect! Might even sulk a little and claim it 'pointless', even despite needing to be educated on any topics! Nanaya doesn't have this problem though, and had he "insulted" a certain field she would definitely find a right approach to get him invested. Don't let anyone know Midra can be biased with fields of learning too though, this is not an impression he wants to make and he is not proud of that trait!

☀️ Who is more outdoorsy and who prefers to stay inside?

Midra used to enjoy being outside and observe nature, from clouds and sunsets to tiniest insects on the flowers, until he didn't. Nanaya on the other hand was the one loving to stay inside more, and also the type to shield the room with curtains to make it dark even at the sunny day! x) Again, they switched habits when Midra became reclusive if not depressed, so Nanaya both felt like at least one of them should go outside and needed to go outside sometimes to escape the tension and think. Sometimes it did come off as passive aggression if Midra refused to go take a breathe with her, where she'd say that sure, she'll be the only one to still remember what the outside looks like..

🔒 Who's more guarded with their secrets and who is better at sharing them?

In my interpretation of the story, Midra certainly managed to do significant acting behind Nanaya's back until it was too late, so there is that... The story aside, he is not naturally a liar type at all, but he is guarded and needs some help opening up. Nanaya knew how to make him feel safe talking about what is bothering him or troublesome past. She is not that ideal therapist wife of course, but she could tell he'd benefit from venting at all, and she'd still try to help (practically more than with wise words. wise words are his thing. :p)

At the same time, her own secrets do not weight her down much but they are "uncovered" at her getting too into discussion and blurting out too much information. And her """dark secrets""" were innocent, like kinks she'd be shy about or really embarrassing memory, so Midra would get her to elaborate by teasing her XD Basically, both need a push to open up, and both know how to help each other with it.

🍋 Who is more likely to be in a sour mood on a bad day? (Bonus: how does the other one handle that?)

Midra IS the type to get really sour! He will not be outright toxic, except maybe very far late into his character arc, but he will be gloomy and say something bitter about things and people that didn't deserve this. Not about Nanaya though, bitter remarks towards her would just be auto-aggression about how she needed to do something better than to waste time on miserable old man. Again, depending on the severity of his reason to be upset she would either flirt him into cuddles or sex to help him to relax, or just hold him and make him feel safe enough to cry and thus, again, waste stress and feel better. (letting him fall sleep in her arms afterwards of course)

🦠 Who is messy and who says "damn you live like this?"

Midra is VERY messy! He doesn't clean his dishes, leaves his books everywhere, doesn't make the bed and usually his clothing either has a spot he never noticed or worn on the wrong side! He has many servants that would clean his own mess and not just wipe the dust or clean the floor etc, but very selfishly prefers Nanaya to handle the "personal" chores and not those servants. It is because she has a natural 'feeling' for how he'd like objects arranged... And if she is feeling tired or sick, he proves he is not that helpless; their rooms don't devolve into trash pile and he keeps them tidy. It is just both being unfocused and selfish.

✅️ Who cares more about being right and winning the argument?

They both care about figuring out the truth and not "winning"! If anything, whenever one beats another in the argument, another feels delighted with how smart their spouse is! I'd say they like losing these! But only with each other; losing an argument to someone else would make them feel frustrated and mentally punch themselves to get more insightful.

🍀 Who is luckier and who was born under a bad star? Do either of them believe in luck?

Midra typically believed himself to be unlucky for life since young age! Yeah he always felt like none of his efforts would avail him anything despite always struggling, that only either luck or turning to supernatural powers could eventually get him anywhere. Long history of having his efforts crashed by bad people or factors he had no control over......

You can see that culminating in him turning to seek Three Fingers to solve the problems with him and his allies being shunned from the start.. However, at some point in life, that mindset was seriously alleviated by meeting Nanaya to begin with! As far as he could tell, there was no luck or fate or magic at play in why she fell in love with him too, so!

Nanaya, on the other hand, was hopeful and the 'it too shall pass' person, but for the first time in her life she felt like she HAS been cursed... by having married him. It was after he did the Lord of Frenzied Flame attempt, that also cost them their baby. I would say it is a very justified point of breaking and being angry and heartbroken, yeah.

🗨 Who is chattier and who defaults to silence?

Midra is generally introverted, only getting more talkative about topics especially fascinating to him or with Nanaya in general! He likes to offer advice, but it is also exhausting. Nanaya does most of the talking with people! Well, she used to, before they stopped communicating with the outside world much due to Inquisitors getting worse. In a more happy, healthy, more social life, she'd be the social butterfly that can finally stay silent with Midra, whereas he'd generally keep mysterious and quiet but spill his heart out to her!

🦋 Who looks for magic in the everyday and ordinary and who needs it pointed out to them?

In the setting where magic IS real and everywhere, it is hard to say XD More vaguely speaking, both are stargazers and romantics, and same logic applies; first it was Midra who helped Nanaya to find joy and wonder in every leaf, later down the line she became the one to make him swim out of the depths of despair and appreciate the joys of nature and world for once. I am thinking about how their relationship developed in their entirety, and it makes me emotional how he once was helping her and then she started to help him in the similar ways ;-; Too bad in the end it availed to nothing because Miyazaki hates hope and good endings fdsjsfdhfgsd But:

🎇 Who is more impulsive and who is more careful? Does the careful one help keep the impulsive one grounded?

The answer from 🔥 ask applies here too; Midra doesn't 'explode', aside of the obvious succumbing to Frenzied Flame, but he can and will get a bad idea into his head when pushed past the limit of his patience and telegraph it for long enough so others take caution or plan how to stop him! Nanaya doesn't do impulsive decisions and is the more reasonable one, except for the obvious drastic reaction when he didn't listen about turning back on the Frenzied Flame research.

🎶 Who is more musical? (Bonus: can they play instruments or sing?)

Nanaya is drums and wind instrument type, she loves them and knows how to play them well! I do not remember whether key instruments are in Elden Ring setting, please remind me if there are because my memory is scattered! My point is, Midra gives me the vibe of someone who would try to study piano as tool of "intellectuals" to focus and relax but who didn't find much enjoyment in them after all. However, he'd be a natural at string instruments and enjoy them a lot!

Nanaya is very sweet and good at singing lullabies, but hopeless at singing just songs, especially on public! Her hearing evaporates when it is not a personal, intimate context XD She also hums melodies to herself often while doing anything. Midra is certainly not a singer himself, but enjoys listening to songs and writing down the lyrics and notes to stock at the library. He collects them!! While burning his library, Inquisitors had damaged quite a collection of folk songs.

🪀 Who's more playful and who is more serious? (Bonus: does the playful one ever get the serious one to join them?)

One is playful when another is sulking or embarrassed and vice-versa! They naturally react at their partner to cheer them up and/or get them to open up about something! Midra does this rarer of course, like I said before it mostly comes up if Nanaya accidentally exposed something awkward and it is far too late for her to take it back x) Nanaya though, has more energy and so to say "talent" at lightening up the mood, but that trait truly developed in this relationship. She always had this spark in her, just no people worthy of it before she met Midra.

😈 Who is naughtier? Either in the bedroom or by breaking the law, etc.

Nanaya is absolutely more naughty sexually, both with behaviour and with having more energy! She could catch him by surprise during him doing other stuff and he enjoys it. She takes initiative in sexual activities! However, from time to time, she happens to want to try something she is shy about.. and in these cases, Midra not only gets 'naughty' but has to get so to convince her to "elaborate" xD Besides, seeing her shy about these things is such a rare but adorable sight that he has a field day when it happens!

The for sure broke the law by researching Frenzied Flame for a while, although Nanaya was the one to understand when it was no longer a right risk to take. Midra would be the one having the idea to "break the law", they'd go through it together despite her doubts, but Nanaya would be the one to know where to stop or cancel the plan.

💕 Who is more romantic? (Bonus: how do they express it?)

Poetry and compliments and sweet dreamy plans and romantic gestures are Midra's element by default! He was no longer giving much of that attention down the line as dread, anxiety and depression were siphoning away his health even without any FF. Nanaya was less consistent about it and more on receiving side, but further in married life started to organise candlelit dinners or making sex more 'special'. Again: matter of finding a person worthy of showing this side to! She is also the type to have rare spurs of inspiration to write poems for him, but she doesn't like her writing and will probably eat the paper sheet if Midra points out she has something for him XDDD The main difference I guess is that Midra is consistently romantic as long as his mental health allows, whereas Nanaya makes 'surprises' when mood takes her!

🎀 Who has more talents/hobbies? Does the other ever feel insecure about this?

In a better and healthier setting, Nanaya would be the type to learn a new skill from time to time for sure! She likes trying out new things and keep the skill rather than ditching the interest in a week too. Could be learning how to paint, could be learning how to build a cabinet x) For now her specialities are sewing and embrodery (created her outfit by herself) + learning new recipes. But, again, given enough time and stability, she'd end up learning enough skills to barely need servants anymore XDDD

Midra is the bookish, educated man, with skills mostly connected to that! He WAS the flowers and garden man though, absolutely! Had they had a farm (and, again, been in a better setting), he would be hard to drag away from it. He would be THE cottagecore man x) Would observe insects and birds too + take pictures in modern AU. He admires how Nanaya's interests and aspirations are more varied but can't follow on 80% of them. She, at the same time, is absolutely not a kind of wife that feels the need to get her husband involved in every new interest, she understands and is content with him just listening!

🌸 Who is more likely to make the decisions in a high pressure situation? Does the other one like to follow their leadership?

Both! It pretty much depends who is faster at taking initiative for a decision under pressure! Midra's decisions under high pressure are more drastic, but if he is faster at commanding them, Nanaya will nervously swallow and listen instead of instantly arguing. She will soon get a grip and try to calm him down of course. But if she is faster at telling what to do, he will follow her lead. She is calmer and seems to plan ahead well even in highly stressful situations! Just needs to snatch the lead position first before Midra humbled her with his rare moment of assertiveness.

Okay that was fun!! I did not even realise how much of a clear mental image I had of them before answering this ask meme, so thank you for bringing out that part of my headcanons XD Honestly, their relationship feels very healthy... like if the one thing that ruined it WAS messing with Frenzied Flame. Nothing else would've ruined it otherwise, no conflicts and no Midra's descent into depression. They balance each other so well. No wonder this ship is so likeable, I felt like it was writing ITSELF this whole post!!

As she whispered her latest creation, the ferret diligently transcribed every word, his delicate claws scratching across the yellowed pages. Together, they brought to life tales of adventure, love, and mystery, each word a testament to their unwavering bond.

One evening, as the stars twinkled outside the attic window, they both decided to send one of their stories to a faraway land once more, where they hoped it would find its way into the hearts of readers. With a flicker of her translucent form, she dictated the letter while he scribbled furiously, his whiskers twitching with concentration.

With the letter complete, they entrusted it to the care of the night, watching as it vanished into the darkness, carried by an unseen breeze. And though they knew not if their words would ever be read, the ghost and the ferret found solace in the knowledge that they had shared a piece of their souls with the world.

For those unfamiliar with the Manananggal (and I will definitely misspell it in this post at least once), it’s a mythical creature of the night in Philippine folklore.

During the day, they’re normal looking people but, at night, their upper torso sprout bat wings and separates from the lower toros (some describe it with intestines dangling, some don’t). During this separated form, sunlight burns them so they have to fuse back before sunrise.

It made its debut as the first Filipino folklore related demon in Shin Megami Tensei V too.

When I was a kid, I watched this horror movie that has a Manananggal in it. Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

There was this scene where the Manananngal was on the roof and the roof was made of some kind of leaves so the Manananggal could slip her really long tongue inside while the people sleep to eat the unborn baby of this pregnant woman.

(Because unborn babies are like one of their favorite food or something)

That gave me nightmares for months (and made me stare into the ceiling unable to sleep at times XD)

And now that I’m no longer a child, all I can think of is…

The Manananggal’s greatest weakness is that finding their lower half and sprinkling it with salt would make it impossible for the two halves to combine and, apparently, Manananngal burn in sunlight IF they’re not ‘fused’ (so yeah, they’re sorta counted as a kind of vampire)

In other words, the best way to defeat a Manananggal is to find their lower half and drench it with salt XD

I absolutely got sidetracked so let’s focus back on Desmond.

For this one, the first time he transformed into a Manananggal, he freaked out because, holy shit, he separated from his lower body.

What the fuck. What the fuck.

And that’s the start of his problem.

First of all: he has no idea what a Manananggal is (unless we throw him a bone and either (1) make him read horror folklore of other countries as a hobby or (2) make his mother Filipino or Filipino descent who knows about Manananggal and used it to scare him as a kid so he’d sleep early) so he’s flying by the seat of his pants (hehe)

And now we have four difficulties:

Easy Mode: Desmond became a Manananggal in modern day (after the Solar Flare? His mother is actually a Manananggal and passed it on him? Shrug). This means he can just check the net to figure out what he can and cannot do.

Normal Mode: Desmond becomes a Manananggal after being transported to Ratonhnhaké:ton’s time. Why is this normal mode? Because Manila was under British occupation for like… a couple of months in 1760s so there is British presence in the Philippines (somewhat) during the long Spanish Colonial rule. By this point, we can make an argument that the Spanish Brotherhood and the British Brotherhood would have some-ish information about the Philippines so it’s possible that they could be able to find information (or have a Filipino Assassin that’s in Spain or something) that can help Desmond.

Hard Mode: Desmond becomes a Manananggal after being transported to Ezio’s time. Leonardo could help try and understand how this all work. But the most important thing is that they would have the Apple depending on when you put Desmond. If the Apple can give them information about Desmond’s current situation, this lowers the difficulty. (aka: hardest during the start of AC2, after the prologue of Brotherhood and, well, all of Revelations until they enter the library)

Hard-er Mode: Altaïr’s time would be a harder time for Desmond because the best time to kick him into that timeline is AC1 so the Apple is with Al Mualim. He’d have to spend months trying to figure shit out while Altaïr tries to help and is also distracted with his missions. Of course, if this is after AC1, then the Apple is there to help out and Altaïr wouldn’t mind using it. (aka: only hard in the beginning then smooth sailing from there)

(As for food, blood is a staple food supply for Manananggal as far as I know so he can drink that instead of you know…)

There were many strange and wonderful things he had seen over the course of delivering items from and for the alchemist.

But this…

“I’ll have to check if we can actually deliver this.” He said with a frown, staring at the pair of bat wings that the alchemist had given him.

Well…

Dropped on his poor battered wagon anyway.

“Why? It’s not alive.”

“Oh, that’s not the problem.” He said as he scratched his cheek, “We have a weight and length limit.”

The alchemist’s brows furrowed at that.

“Oh.”

They both stared at the bat wings, each wing as big as the alchemist themselves.

How tall were they anyway?

5’4 maybe? 5’3?

He wasn’t sure.

This might be too big for them to deliver.

Shame.

It looked so real.

“It’s not… like… what do cityfolks call it? Taxidermatology or something?”

“No, it’s purely made with alchemy.” The alchemist answered before walking inside.

He opened his mouth to call them back but they returned soon enough with a wicker basket that had some kind of lid. They pulled the lid open and placed it on the ground before grabbing the bat wings.

He took a step towards the alchemist when they wobbled under the weight of the bat wings and his eyes widened as his jaw dropped when the alchemist began to put the bat wing inside the basket.

Slowly, the large batwing disappeared into the basket. It didn’t change shape or showed any sign of ever receiving such an impossible load.

Once the rest of the bat wing was inside, the alchemist closed the lid and handed the basket to him.

“Here.”

“Uuuuhhh… Alchemy?” He asked as he took the basket from them, earning a nod.

“Yup.”

My first impression - Why is there only one female pup and why is she so much smaller than the boys-- Is she a Cocker Spaniel?? Could've been a bit bigger...

My impression now - "Thank you Mighty Movie for giving her some lore and anything at all other than what little the show gives us"

Favorite thing about that character - She's one of the only three characters who are girls in PINK that I think the color actually fits them really well, instead of just color coding girls with pink just because. She DOES look good in it, it fits with her actions and general behavior, just as well as all pink/violet shades she wears with other colors for highlights. It may sound of not much importance, but pink is a strong color, not a "feminine" color. It shouldn't ever be "lowly/lazily coded" for girls just because girls, it can and should be used by anyone, as long as they get it. Don't see pink as "feminine/gay" color, see it as "lighter red, passion, fire, love, care, nurturing, protecting". Someone who takes others under their wings and care for them, protect them, fight for them. Skye is persistent, she cares, she's passionate, she's always giving it her all and some more. She deserves the pink color.

Least favorite thing - Being the only girl in the main team when there's a demand for female rep makes it so she's exhaustively OVERUSED to the extent of shading out other pups who would be more suited for certain kinds of rescues, kicking them out of the scene only for being males and their need for showing more girl power. I've been missing Everest showing up more times, heck she lives just close to them, it's closer than Liberty, at least they wouldn't need to overuse Skye so ridiculously much...

Favorite line/scene - This scene lives rent free in my mind

Favorite interaction that character has with another - That moment in the first movie when she went to pick Chase from the rooftop and bring him back down to ground level. I think she could understand he was panicking and made sure he would hear her voice, state her intention and next moves "I'm coming to get you" so he wouldn't be caught by surprise, she asked what happened, made sure he would know people were safe now and he could let go and go with her, she was a total darling there. 10/10 emotional support pup.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more - Chase and Liberty. First I miss Skye and Chase being absolute dorks together, second I loved Skye's dynamic with Liberty in the Mighty Movie, with the two often talking and throwing shade at others or being generally sarcastic to make each other laugh

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character - Uran, from Tetsuwan Atom, specifically the 2003 anime version - you might know her as Zoran, Astro Boy. But the American dub for that anime literally changed EVERYTHING to the point if you watch the anime dubbed and subbed, you feel it's two entirely different stories. "Zoran" was nothing like "Uran", they managed to change and reshape her personality in such a way they're literally two completely different characters, so I'll be precise and say I'm talking specifically about the Japanese Uran character, not the dubbed Zoran character.

A headcanon about that character - The show gave me nothing to develop ideas about her, sadly. So I don't have any interesting headcanons to go about- just that I believe she loves strawberry bubblegum scented shampoo lol

A song that reminds of that character - "Defying Gravity"

An unpopular opinion about that character - I prefer her movie verse over the show verse. I can't feel a "personality" in the show... She's cool, but if it wasn't for the movie, I feel like we wouldn't ever have anything to work about her at all?? She's just-- always happy, likes to play Pup Pup Boogie, flies her 'copter, is afraid of eagles. Isn't it weird that I just listed four things about her and still feel like I don't have much to work with her at all??? The only friend I know who has her as his favorite pup told me it's because she's the flight rescue pup - he's hyperfixated on aircrafts. It's not for who she is, only for her being the one to fly 'copters/jets. It could be ANY pup instead of her. That's just freaking SAD. The Mighty Movie wasn't perfect but at least it gave her SOMETHING ELSE if you get what I mean now.

Favorite picture - I didn't get there in the show yet but this is my favorite outfit of hers already, hands down. She looks hella cool.

Hello! As promised to @rubberduckyrye, here are some of my notes I got about my social psychology class, about leadership! (And of course I thought of V3. Of course. So I'm sharing the ones that could be linked to it x)

(Please keep in mind that those datas were extracted from social experiments in real life, not a killing game tho xD)

There's four "main" types of leadership:

Authoritarian (like in the army)

Transactional (preferably one for a short period of time or objective; this one is quite literally, a transaction. You do this task, you get this reward. It's not a long-term option)

Transformative (This one is the most looked after in companies: it's one that focus on changing things for the better, helping employees too in the process, but also it's looking for long-terms solutions and practice. The one that can motivate others, and help employees with their problems)

And lastly the "let it be", a type of leadership that let the "employees" -keep in mind those experiments were done in companies' settings- do what they want and doing much about it.

First of all, it's good to know that the leadership authoritarian is less performant than the transactional, or the transformative. But it's still WAY BETTER than the "let it be"! To give a hierarchy:

"let it be" < authoritarian < transactional < transformative.

(Again, in a company's setting. But I think it would work best in a killing game too, since everyone have to collaborate for a long term objective, leaving, when there's one actual traitor in their group)

Kaede and Kokichi (because I am still talking about V3, of course!) both tried -Kaede... more or less- a transformative leadership. Which, good idea! The problem being that Kaede also took some major part of the "let it be" type as well. Asides from the Death Road of Despair, and when she asked Miu for help, she pretty much didn't let the others contribute.

Kokichi too; well he let Miu, Gonta and maybe a bit Shuichi contribute, but after the first trial there's not a lot of people willing to listen to him asides the first two I mentionned.

Angie in chapter 3, tried an authoritarian leadership. Which... works, until the authority figure isn't respected (or feared) and people start doing whatever they want again. (And the problem with her, is that she only was respected by half of the class to begin with. It was bond to fail)

And all three of them struggle with the notion to let others than their allies do the work for the group (which, in a killing game is understandable. There's a mastermind lurking around) but it doesn't help the overall cohesion, conflicts in the group happens because "it's always the same doing the things" (in a company setting anyway.)

An annoying thing too, is that once a leader is designated, all the others around are like "oh cool, they'll do all the work and I can chill" only doing things if the leader actually tell them to. In a company setting (or in a group project...) no problem. In a killing game on the other hand...

The followers have the tendency to take the values of their leader in mind when taking decisions; in a company, it's seen as a HR employee avoiding to recruit women because he knows his superior is mysogynist. In the killing game, it's seen when Kaede declare they're all friends, and despite the murders that happens, everyone claim this mentality. (Claim. Not necessary follow... *look at the murders*)

Because yes, having people with differents values/goals (i.e: the mastermind working against them) obviously doesn't help the group.

And then, interestings things are seen.

It has been shown in the experiments, that the one stepping up to be the leader, isn't always the most qualified for the job.

Not only that, but people that chose their leader doesn't necessary makes the right choice, and prefer to have someone they like in charge, they are biased.

Looks familiar to anyone?

And now the most fascinating thing:

If no real leader (recognized, followed by everyone or the biggest majority and most importantly: DOING A GOOD JOB) is there, that's when a scapegoat is "designed".

Titles For Azula

Red Viper - I just like the thought of Azula killing enemies with poison, like Ursa killed Azulon, AND I like giving her cool weapons, so a poisoned spear would be awesome.

And lets face it, Azula is just a character that DEMANDS a title that suggests she's two-faced and deadly.

The Red Woman/His Red Shadow - I love, love, love, love making Azula Zuko's mistress & advisor, much like Melisandre is to Stannis (through I prefer her giving him babies that are not murderous shadow), and she'd absolutely get labelled as the evil witch who seduced the king and is leading him down the wrong path, just like Mel.

Plus, Melisandre and Stannis canonically go for moonlight walks in the books, and fuck on top of a war table/map in the show, and that is just perfect aesthetics for Zucest.

Realm's Delight/Light Of The West - Little Azula, with all of her disturbing tendencies, being called "realms delight", like she's the cutest, most precious thing in the whole world is just funny to me. And I like Rhaenyra, so of course I'd give Azula one of her titles.

And she'd definitively take a page from Cersei's book of "Give yourself a new title while you help your baby boy usurp the throne", only in this case she's stealing Kuei's throne for herself (and Zuzu).

The Queen That Never Was - Azula is just made for politics and to be a ruler, so I would not be surprised if, before her relationship with Zuko is made public and they get married, some people are still not over the fact that she never got to truly rule over the Fire Nation. Even after the whole "you're all banished" thing, I can easily see at least half the Dai Li calling her "The Fire Lord that never was" as they are all sad their favorite 14-year-old child soldier didn't get to enjoy rulling over the world.

Titles For Zuko

The Rogue Prince - You look me in the eye and tell this title doesn't fit the banished prince that had to stay away from home for three years, came back, willingly left to stand against his father/Fire Lord, and then came back AGAIN to change everything. Do it. I dare you.

The King Who Cared - Again, my love for Stannis and Melisandre heavily influenced this one. I like Zuko being the grumpy, furious, highkey entitled king that has a change of heart and decides "You know what, I need to take care of my people if I want them to respect me as a ruler" - and his "evil" mistress just comes along for the ride because she's THE most devoted woman ever.

The Peaceful - Unlike with King Viserys, this won't be a polite way to call Zuko "the cowardly/incompetent king." Like I said before, Zuko has a kind, righteous side and he is at his strongest when he embraces said side, and considering he helped end a 100 year and intends to be a merciful ruler, this just feels like a good title for him - not to mention, it will make it easier for enemies to understimate him, thinking he'll be easy to defeat, and then be brutally reminded that Zuko is being kind BY CHOICE, not because he can't ever be one hell of powerful, dangerous enemy to go against.

Sea Snake - @timur-pannonicus had Zuko be given that title after a major victory in his fanfic, and I just thought it was cool as hell. Plus I just love any connection to the three years Zuko spent at sea.

Titles For Both

The Conqueror - Zuko and Azula going the evil route, invading all the other nations and forcing the world to submit might be morally abhorent... but it's one hell of a great aesthetic and definitively makes them worthy of Aegon's title.

The Unworthy - Come on. Azula is Ozai's favorite, a prodigy, scarily competent and never "betrayed" the Fire Nation. Zuko is the firstborn, Ozai's MALE heir, won the crown and managed to help end a 100 year war. No way one of them gets crowned without half the nation/world going "BUT HIS/HER SIBLING DESERVED IT WAY! HE/SHE IS THE TRUE HEIR, NOT THIS DISGRACE OF A PERSON!"

Protector Of The Realm, Lord/Lady Of The Four Nations - Needs no explanation (but I do think Azula would only use the title of "Fire LADY" if she's rulling as Zuko's wife. If he had to marry her to win the crown, they're both having the title of Fire Lord)

Stormborn - That is just a very cool title and a future king/queen being born during an insanely dangerous storm is some epic myth stuff.

The Unlikely - Both of them are kids of the Fire Lord's second son, their uncle (aka the rightful heir) is still alive, Azula is a girl and younger than Zuko, and Zuko was fucking banished and disgraced. Nobody was making bets on either of them being crowned for a long time.

The King/Queen In Chains - Humiliating title for the sibling that lost the Agni Kai for the crown AND a thinly veiled way people have of saying "These royals are VERY kinky." Perfect for Zucest.

Phoenix King/Queen - Ozai's title was just objectively cool, Azula would totally see it as a legitimate thing just because her dad was the one to come up with it, and Zuko would TOTALLY want to be the first actually get to use that title as one last "FUCK YOU, DAD!"

Bonus

Azula has ABSOLUTELY called Zuko "The royal dum-dum" at some point, you cannot change my mind.

I mean, what was HE doing during all the time the kids spent training to be underwater?? He wasn’t devising any defense tactics, he was just like absent from the plot??? He didn’t even really try to fight back too?

visuals were STUNNING, music was underperforming. It’s like they didn’t even bother to write a new score. that was disappointing...

SPIDER IS EVERYTHING. I know it looks like he’s not doing anything most of the time but that’s exactly the point! He’s a stray. He serves no purpose, no one wants him, yet he exists. He spends his time watching and observing how the circumstances he grew up in came to be. It happened before his time, so he’s trying to make sense of everyone’s point of view. And then he ACTS and it becomes clear that he was never going to betray the Sullys and I’m like aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Neteyam’s burial... I cried. I hate that Jake was waking up to his other kids’ existence only when they lost the eldest son. I’ll say it again, Jake was being way too hard on his boys and weirdly soft with the girls. Bleh. But that “I see you” he spoke to Lo’ak...that was the beginning of something awesome. One of the few emotionally powerful moments of the film.

I love that the battle against Quaritch’s clone happened rather spontaneously like “ok then let’s get this over with” lol. Also with knives only. So intimate. The one-on-one wrestling was so much more personal than a machine gun standoff could have been!!

The Sully kids saved both their parents’ sanity and Idk what to think about that. Yes they have been through a lot. No it should be the other way round - the parents taking care of and comforting the kids that were ripped from their home.

NEYTIRI’S WRATH IS A WHOLE AESTHETIC IN ITSELF TO ME. It was unexpected but so rewarding. It makes sense to me why she would choose this and it’s epic to watch. That moment where Spider hides from her - ,,, AUUUGHHHHH

Also the moment Spider fights back with a fire extinguisher lol. I love how he has both human and Na’vi characteristics. He’s a kid of both worlds and will use the environment around him accordingly.

The moment Lo’ak woke up on Payakan’s back. Also the moment where the tulkun shoots the water fountain and Lo’ak goes like “that’s disgusting” XD

I’m gonna be really, really honest about something and I hope I won’t track hate for it... look, the use of sign language underwater was obviously really smart. However. I would have much preferred more Na’vi being spoken instead. I felt the use of sign language was introduced too early and too prominently. Like, this could have been cool in the third movie. But I basically hoped for the entire movie to be spoken in Na’vi. I came for the Na’vi, not for sign language. Sure, it could be interpreted as naturally overwhelming to the viewer as it must have been overwhelming to the Sullys... but it should have been addressed as overwhelming then. They adapted more or less seamlessly, the audience didn’t. ...yeah.

It was so good seeing Grace again. Sosososososososo good. 

So many plot holes in the overall movie lol

Having a female officer/General whatever lead the RDA’s evil campaign this time was refreshing though.

The callback to Neytiri’s arrows and that fateful day where she shot Quaritch was really great. I love how he hunted HER, too. 

Leaving all the scrap metal and the corpses from the first battle to rot in the forest felt really insulting to the planet of Pandora and to the Na’vi lifestyle though. Like... would you really want your kids to randomly stumble upon skeletons??? Sure they possibly couldn’t find every dead body to bury, and their priority must have been the Omaticaya casualties, but it seems really disrespectful to the humans AND to the forest to just... leave everything an open battlefield. I’m sure the military base could have recycled the scrap metal, using it for repairs on their technology. Since they were kinda cut off from terran supply ships now, they must have kept their breathing, living and research equipment up to date somehow. And the forest deserved to be natural/untouched again. It shouldn’t have become a constant reminder of what went down. Anyway...

At first, I was a little bit confused by the long aesthetic, atmospheric sequences of the movie. Like, where’d all the action go? But somehow, it was relieving to not have constant battle disturb the visual feast and the relational developments. The Sullys got a little time to regroup. To breathe. Which is a main theme in this movie. I’m glad the action came just in time and didn’t disappoint. The director chose a different narrative structure this time and it confused the heck out of the audience. But the more I let it sink in, it was the perfect choice!!! It’s what we wanted and needed!!!

Thoughts on Doctor Who - Boom! Some negativity ahead, maybe a 6/10 overall.

Well that was about as subtle as a sledgehammer XD Yes yes the algorithm is bad, yes yes capitalism is bad, yes yes war industry is bad, yes yes religious extremism is bad. I agree with all that! And tbh there are people who do need that message to be about as subtle as a sledgehammer because they Do Not Get It!

But holy shit, this one made Orphan-55 look subtle XD

(That said, kind of adore the chutzpah of doing the Capitalism Is Bad story in the first season of the show as owned by fucking Disney.)

A… weird aesop at the end. "Blind faith is bad. Also, just because I don't like it, doesn't mean I don't need it, because apparently I need religious people to tell me what to do."

Splice was… odd. Grew up in a warzone, also launches herself into said warzone because Dad sent a weird message. Seems singularly unable to recognise what had happened despite, y'know, growing up in a warzone, but that's okay because Holodaddy mentioned seeing antelopes. I feel she was written to be much younger (like, five-ish), which is an issue with the casting, actually, because as it is she just kind of came across as dense as a sack of bricks. No, stupid child, you do not run into the minefield! I did see commentary about how chilling it was for her to be so easily placated by the AI, though, so that could be a deliberate choice, I guess?

Mundy is okay. Didn't make me go, "Yes, she absolutely needs to be the new companion!", which is a pity, and the whole romantic tension between her and the other dude felt whoppingly out of place. Yes, half the planet is going to blow up but that's okay, her crush likes her back! Hoping that either she's playing someone totally different as companion (like Freema Agyeman and Karen Gillan having smaller roles before being cast as companions, to say nothing of some of the actual Doctors!), or that Mundy actually develops some personality beyond 'romantic yearning', 'Christianity', and 'portents of doom'. That said, if she is playing Mundy again, I do enjoy the idea of Mundy Sunday XD

Last annoyance, promise - lmao god if Moffat's head was any further up his arse he'd be a mobius strip. Villengard (although setting the episode in the 51st century is at least consistent with its destruction), the Anglican Marines, preservation of dead people in incomplete digital formats, the president's wife poem/song thing, even fish fingers and custard. Dude. I know. You're still salty about being replaced as showrunner. Doesn't mean you have to yell about how great your era was by throwing in every single self-congratulatory reference you could think of XD

(That said: I much prefer him writing standalone/double episodes. Do Not let him write arcs or be showrunners, but he certainly can work a single narrative.)

Positive notes: Even if it was as subtle as a sledgehammer, I did enjoy the reveal - that there wasn't actually any war, and it was entirely a self-perpetuated conflict based on algorithm and profit. Like the writing could have handled it better, but the premise was really cool.

Ncuti Gatwa's acting was fantastic. Beautiful tension and stress. Loved him monologuing to Ruby's dead body because if he doesn't talk, he can't think right.

Susan Twist has appeared again, although I still have no idea what this could be building up to. Much bigger role than some of the earlier ones.

This is Ruby's first alien planet, but The Devil's Chord implies she's been travelling with the Doctor for six months? So this would have to be set before Devil's Chord, or else they've just spent six months in space stations and time travelling on Earth alone.

A lot of emphasis on the Doctor as a father, tying in with his mention of Susan last episode, which also dealt with the familial connection between the Toymaker and Maestro and the whole Pantheon thing, and brought up the stuff with Ruby and her lineage again (the AI glitching out when trying to work out her next of kin, although I feel Moffat forgot that… next of kin doesn't mean 'blood relative'… she has a Mum!). I feel there's definitely going to be something about the Doctor's family in this season as well as Ruby's. The TARDIS identified her as human, but could there be a connection?

I think he likes Gamer food and all that but I want a deeper dive then that. Like do you think he likes candy? Sour or sweet? What's his favorite soda? What he allergic to? Peanuts cause that's so basic but also a common food that everyone is probably surprised he cant eat and now that he mentioned it they never can remember him eatting whatever it is.

I think Shig is a briefs wearer, nothing else no undershirt but Dabu wears undershirts and so does Twice. Unfortunately Himiko wasn't raided correct enough to feel comfortable wearing stuff like that but she likes the look of pretty bras and panties but cant bring herself to wear them, she just wears a sports bra and boxers she wishes she could wear them tho.

Dabi and Twice are the only ones who'll sit around shirtless, moreso Dabi then Twice, Dabi sags, Shigaraki's trans ass admires their gender so hard, at first couldnt bring himself to be shirtless around them but when he got comfortable on a bit day he just fuck it, took his shirt off.

Whether or not he had top surgery at the time meant nothing cause the league accepts him for who he is but I would like to say he has had it.

I can't really think of his favorite things like this off the top of my head, but going of what you pointed here, let's try to think something. So about food first: thinking a favorite food for him is hard because of his upbringing and then poverty, but i like to think he would like sweet things (not extremely sweet, but yk), so maybe a cake? something that still is a good memory from his childhood. He likes candy, especially strawberry flavored ones, but that sounds lame so he lies and says he prefers sour stuff. I would just go with cola for him, cause yk he's a gamer and lowkey unhealthy, so a lot of ramen and cola when he pulls all night to play LOL. Not all greasy food, but mostly fries, he loves those, he would eat a bucket everyday if he could. For some reason my first thought for foods he doesn't like was seafood but he's japanese so that would limit his choices a lotkjkjdf but maybe he doesn't like extremely spicy stuff, it upsets his stomach. As for allergies, I'm gonna project here and say he has a corn allergy (idk how common corn is in japan, but where i live it's really everyday food so i have a lot of trouble with this).

And for the rest, i really don't have many additional thoughts on it, i can totally see the things you said here, especially with being shirtless around the league, i think he would be less shy bc of breast/chest and more bc he thinks he doesn't have a good fit body, but well dabi is half burned so he assumes nobody really cares about this

i find it strange -James alone called a bully yet people leave out - Sirius was there too! They did swm together, they both were entertainted by cruelty! We know little about the prank, but maybe that was (bad, out of hand) joined descision. Yet James is singled out as bully and max Sirius should do is grovel for the prank [which imo is not something he'd do]. tl;dr, broad fandom makes James darker and Sirius lighter while prongsfoot shippers often do opposite, and this amazes me XD

I am sorry for the late reply. I was a bit sick, so I was on and off on tumblr. 

If I want to be completely honest, I don't know much about how James is portrayed outside prongsfoot fandom because I usually don't go near other pairings when it comes to him, unless it is Jily or Jilypad. The way he is HCed as an stupid himbo in other fandoms bothers me, because in canon he is one of the brightest students along with Sirius. Same goes for Sirius, viewing him as a brainless bimbo in some fandoms makes my blood boil, so I prefer to stay in my small prongsfoot corner, thus I lack knowledge about the way James' darkness is portrayed in anything minus prongsfoot. But here are my thoughts on prongsfoot if you are interested. ♡ 

James and Sirius both are purebloods. One is spoiled with whatever his heart desires and the other is blessed with too much sass and class. Everyone thought that they were the height of cool ( in Lupin's exact words) in their school days. I find it strange to only call James a bully, because you are right anon, Sirius was involved in that scene as well. 

Personally, I think it is because there are three books for the reader to know Sirius and just a bunch of pages to know James. It is absolutely unfair to judge James by a single memory. But unfortunately, a lot of people just judge James based on that, only focusing on him being an arrogant bully. In Sirius' case there are other books, so we can see that he is arrogant and cruel, yet has many other positive characteristics as well. In James' case we either have the negative arrogant toerag picture frame or the positive hero worship unless one starts to read the whole seven books and just focus on small clues about him.

As for entertainment by cruelty, I think putting it this way would be better. 

James started it to entertain Sirius, Sirius joined in and then the whole crowd were entertained. ( not discussing the morality or cause and effect here. )

Students all around had turned to watch. Some of them had gotten to their feet and were edging nearer to watch. Some looked apprehensive, others entertained. ( HP and OOTP, page 643 )

Even Lily:

Lily, whose furious expression had twitched for an instant as though she was going to smile, said, "Let him down!" (HP and OOTP, page 648)

It doesn't mean that James started it for the crowd or Lily, it was started for Sirius and naturally it contained showing off for him and in front of the whole school, amusing Sirius by indulging him in bullying Snape. 

What I am saying isn't that Sirius and James were saints, I am saying that most of the crowd there were enablers. Even Lily was amused for an instant, so clearly she is no saint as well. 

There is also one other thing. When Harry asks Sirius about this, here is his answer.

"I'm not proud of it," said Sirius quickly. (HP and OOTP, page 670)

Sirius Black, the man who is described as haughty and arrogant more than N times in the books, says he is not proud of what he had done. Of course, he would rather go back to Azkaban than to say it into Snape's face but admitting it to Harry is something. Point is he has been given the chance to express this because he is older and alive, something that James didn't have the chance to, so people assume that he never grew out of it.

So, yes, I think only calling James a bully and leaving Sirius out is stealing his glory, they are quite a double act after all. 

The prank though, as you said, we don't know much about, at least not that much to be able to put the complete blame on either side. But I don't think it was a joint decision at all. James and Sirius tend to even each other out, so in situations when Sirius is rash James is not and vice versa, so here when Sirius was impulsive, James saving Snape is not odd to me. It was for protecting the marauders' secrets as well, sure, but believe me if it was a joint decision Snape would have been already dead, because Sirius and James planned their pranks with cruelty like you said. But there are different types of cruelty and planning to dump someone in front of a werewolf is different from public humiliation.

Prongsfoot fandom in general tends to sway to a darker Sirius and a lighter James mostly because Sirius belongs to the Black family with their famous ego and wrath and how it is explicitly mentioned in the books that James hated dark arts. But a lot of prongsfoot authors make them equally morally grey, not shying away from their faults which personally I find really intriguing. I think one of the reasons that prongsfoot is not everyone's cup of tea is precisely this. Neither character is portrayed as a saint or the sacrificial lamb or the other's keeper or a casanova. ( ok, Sirius is a casanova but that was not the point. ) The point is, they are what they are. Maybe a writer views one of them darker than the other but they usually try not to sway too far and create some alien out of JP or SB. 

I can rant about this for the whole day, I need to stop myself before this gets out of hand.

Leading and managing it at the highest level right under Miranda who ofc is the headmistress(might come up with a different title, still in development). Let's get into a few quick details about the other Lords though! Do note that not much worldbuilding has gone on so types of magic and what is taught at the school is still in the works. Quite literally everything is still in VERY early development so expect changes

Alcina Dimitrescu

Definitely a professor! Of what..? Well uh....i'm still working on it! XD Perhaps of a music related magic? (Resident Lover shows Alcina as the art professor and while I think it's a great choice for her, I don't want to just hop onto the same idea.) I don't really see much about Alcina's relationship with music so perhaps I can do something for it through this AU :) Either that or a "dark arts" type thing? Necromancy and shadow related things? I'll be honest i'm slightly leaning towards darker arts...especially for plot reasons...

A vampire- ofc she is PFFT, the Dimi Daughters are also vampires(whether they're her biological children or were willingly converted is still in development)

She's every teacher that complains about other teacher's methods and classrooms

Karl Heisenberg

In charge of school security! He's technically supposed to be teaching students about combat and taking in certain students for a guard internships but he has an assistant who does the actual teaching for him LOL He's just there to occasionally be the face and the muscle of the program XD Though he does do some actual teaching for that program, he's more about demonstrating and correcting students he observes(he also just mostly is interested in the security interns)

Now because his assistant handles most things related to the combat courses/guard internships he actually teaches a second class with a different assistant. It's metal/machine based and as it's more a deep passion of his he actually takes it more seriously and prefers to do more of the teaching himself. All his assistants and deputies just make it more manageable for him to be taking care of multiple things like this. He actually spends the most time and effort on this class.

Is a Lycan! They can't turn into wolves or convert others though (a good portion of the school's security is actually lycans)

His magic is also a work in progress, though in this AU in general I want to have some who mostly just focus on mastering one form of magic and those who are experienced in multiple. Obviously the more types you focus on (that aren't considered more basic/general stuff ex. lighting a candle with a snap, animating an object to do a simple task, ect.) the less you master each. I would like him to possible specialize in more than one but we'll see how things go!

Presenting the Mythic Expert (M.E.) from my Mythical How To Guides!

I found an old pose in my sketchbook from an earlier attempt to draw her, so I decided to fill it out with her adventuring garb. Then I did something I’ve literally NEVER done before: designing alternate outfits! Now let’s have some fun and break these down :D

On The Job

This is her super geared-up adventuring garb; she dresses like this for official gigs or when she knows she’ll be dealing with dangerous mythics. It tends to get a bit warm, but better warm than dead! (And an extra jacket tied around her waist for the even colder regions! Or in case she needs to throw it over somebody’s head.)

I wanted to give her a mix of modern clothes and classic adventuring gear to represent the mix of classic myths/folklore and the modern-day setting. She has a few magic tools, like some health potions, a few fae artifacts, etc. but mostly normal human gear. She carries misc. useful items in her backpack and pockets or just tied onto things.

Despite dealing with dangerous mythics, she dislikes fighting, preferring diplomacy and trickery. She’s not particularly violent regardless, but it’s also illegal (except in defense of self or others from imminent peril) to slay mythics. (You can do citizen’s arrests, though.) She is handy with a short sword and her staff, however! The wizard gem probably has a stun effect on contact. And she can run pretty dang fast.

Casual Warm

Here’s an everyday summer outfit! She typically wears normal-looking sneakers and clothes comfortable for moving quickly. However, an M.E. is always prepared, so she keeps misc. handy items on her in the fanny pack, and bracelets (paracord, magic detection, slingshot elastic, iron), a hidden necklace (emergency health potion), mirrored sunglasses, etc. When you gain a reputation as a Mythic Expert (even a good one), it can lead to awkward encounters. Or inserting yourself into awkward encounters because they’re less awkward for you than for other people.

Casual Cool

Here we see the adventurer actually wearing her jacket! I decided she tries to have eye protection on her at all times, particularly mirrored lenses because gorgons and basilisks and hypnotizing mythics. Her purse is based on a real satchel I have where the strap is a belt a convention artist decorated with real glass vials holding tiny flowers! :D So basically, she always has eye protection, close-toed shoes, and a carrying bag of some kind, plus a few handy doodads hidden about her person. :D

I’d probably also need to make a more civil uniform for her to wear in situations like the Dryad Guide. But yeah, there we go! Hope you enjoyed that foray into my Mythic Expert, who is definitely based on me in style if not in actual skillset XD (I WISH I were that athletic and quick-thinking IRL.)

Okay so, I think Laurence only condoned Logarius and Executioners to do Cainhurst massacre AFTER Maria's suic1de, because he knew darn well she'd cause a problem in his plan to eliminate Vilebloods (and get Umbilical Cord from Annalise). But what if!!!!!

What if Laurence COULD absolutely see Maria's suic1dal urges coming... and he LET that happen. He LET those feelings fester and bloom, he LET the doctors (Micolash maybe?????) go too hard on Adeline with experiments and cause her to give out, he LET Gehrman, the one person that could have helped to be oblivious about Maria's mental state..... pulling strings from the shadows - or not doing anything - in the ways that'd push her towards the edge, so the "problem" removes itself

Ok thanks for the ask, thanks to it I will take the occasion to finally share my headcanons about how I see their relationship across the years >:) (main headcanon, fic verse if you prefer).

So i already explain, (i think), but for me, Laurence is an extremely nuanced character. I mean by this that i don’t think he’s the ultimate devil yet but i don’t think he’s just an only poor mew mew misguided guy either, who was trap in smt out of his control. Nah for me he’s kinda a mixt/ more nuanced character who evolve a lot during his life.

So now i will share my headcanons with his relationship with Maria. Not many people talk about it and most of the takes i see are well not mine. But we don’t have much in canon so i can understand it’s tricky to imagined. But! Maria ended working at the research hall right ? (That she was in charge or under the doctors is another pb) but that mean that well there’s a connection. She joined and fight for the Healing church too! And worked with them! Hide the biggest secrets of them and Byrgenwerth! It’s not nothing! It’s s huge!

So i think at first their relationship was quite great at first! Then it spiraled down…

Let’s cut it with Byrgenwerth time, the hunter/early church era and post fishing hamlet so it’s simpler (respectively the 3fics i try to planned xD)

Byrgenwerth :

So Maria was a student here and Laurence basically one of her teachers. He’s a chill, cool and young teacher, Maria like him and think his classes are the most interesting.

Laurence had quite a harsh time on his first years studying at Byrgen so he try to be attentive to the need of his students. (He always check on Caryll, Rom etc or ask like Gehrman to check and tell him if he noticed smt weird)

Maria who don’t really have much friends at the beginning and is really often alone remind him a lot of himself at first.

But yeah funniest shit how Gehrman become close acquaintance with Maria almost the exact same way he become close acquaintance with Laurence all this years ago xD (i won’t say more about it but Laurence was quite surprised)

So anyway times pass it’s going smoothly and all the Byrgen gang hang around each other more and more (outside class too)

Maria and Caryll are still amazed that Laurence was the coolest bio and theology teacher because of what he could do when drunk xD that man was crazy (spoiler he got more serious but he become worse lol)

Also Laurence maybe accidentally save her life by giving her a free blood vial 💀(Willem don’t agree with that but he doesn’t need to know lol and hey it helped)

And later when blood was stolen from Cainhurst and Maria was completely clueless and confused he advocated for her with Gehrman. (+ advocate to cainhurst so she could stay with them + let’s be real it was first to get money to emancipate himself from Byrgen xD)

So a bit later when the first hunts begins? (Or a bit before idk).

Well before Laurence became a grand Vicar with tons of responsibility they all pass times as friends ! Like this yeah xD)

He gave her a freaking chalice for her exploit in the labyrinth and a blood transfusion wow!

Also i think he converted her to religion. (Or at least their religion)

Ok Let me explain. I don’t think Cainhurst are super religious? I think they’re closer to the 2.0 pthumerians. You know before the great ones were their leaders/ gods. Then they disappear and the pthumerians crown leader of their own : aka pthumerians queens and all. I think cainhurst is similar in that sense, at first. And i need to show how Laurence managed to got so many followers !

Maria’s a pyromancer and he learnt about it at some point. Quite funny how he found out even if he was suspicious of smt xD)

Maria hate that aspect of her bc she don’t want to be like the shadow of Yharnam and use her blood to hurt and kill people because smn told her to (aka royal family) she always resent that aspect of her.

Laurence think it’s incredible, that it’s a gift from the great ones! But That she could use how she want, if she want. She could used it to protect the great ones they’re looking for instead ! It’s way closer and prefer that.

That’s a big part on why she joined the healing church.

Also Laurence is this good religious figure that people follow and look for validation and the church was the guardian of the hunters after all.

So after the hamlet… when everything went down…

Laurence became to change even more after that. Even after he became vicar maybe he got a lil messiah complex + begin to dissociate with lot of things & people but it got worst.

Especially after our lil group loose smn quite important to them… Laurence loose it and instead of « oh maybe we should stop or be more careful so it won’t happen again » he’s like : « ok we need to make sacrifice to ascend. Let’s do it » he was one of most affected by it but… in a bad way he completely dissociated and was more and more antipathetic. He was already ok with sacrificing you know sick people, who are gonna turned into a beast anyway but a friend? Oh well… he decided he won’t go back.

While Maria spiraled more and more down…he always had reassuring words but at some points and didn’t work greatly. And her, who never question the church really begin to wonder if everything worth it. What if what they’re doing is bad and useless? + she begin to cause trouble and confront Laurence about it. He was really annoyed… at some points he even ask Gehrman to do smt about it. Anything he wanted so she would chilled out and calmed down… the hunter was really confused 💀(and freaking tired too)

So Maria and Laurence relationship become more complicated.

About the Vilebloods too… first they were allies and before Maria died they ended up fighting each others. She had to stop them in front of the grand cathedral from fighting 💀 so not good either… relations were really tense… but the massacre happened 10-20y later in my timeline so

Then what happened happened… Maria killed herself and reasearch hall was a huge mess in part bc of this. (Patients revolt and a part were already dead)

Laurence was quite shock… really. And confused. But other feel sadder of course. But he was still touched by it. A bit. It remind him that they might make the sacrifce to loose close ones. But then he needed to clean all this big messes and send a letter to cainhurst That was not a good time for him either. Still he move on. Not like one of his friends… (another story)

So there. Hope i don’t forget anything but it’s a good summary for now.
