One performance — that’s the deal. One single performance and then you’ll go back to normal life. You nearly fainted when he told you that you could do one dance, after months and months of begging, pleading and crying. You almost started threatening him when you became desperate enough. 

“Well … we’re here”, Silas sighs as his men stop the car. “You know the rules, don’t you? Do we have to go through them again?”

“No, I know them”, you smile. 

You take his hand while exiting the car. Silas smiles and squeezes your hand softly. It’s worth all the trouble, he tells himself. If you’re happy, then it’s all worth it.

When you enter the practice room, you’re met by a dozen other girls wearing the same clothes as you. It’s been such a long time ago that you’ve felt so … included. There’s a certain feeling about wearing the same thing that creates a unity you can’t explain. 

“Run along”, Silas tells you, giving you a small push towards the group. 

He walks over to the instructor. He can tell right away that she knows who he is. He braces himself. She can either call the police or let him go. If she decides to call the police, he’ll have to create a blood bath and snatch you back in the car. 

“Can I have a word with you?” Silas asks politely. 

“Sure”, the woman answers hesitantly. 

“I can tell by the look on your face that you know very well who I am, so I want to make a deal with you.”

“What type of deal?”

“If you don’t call the cops on me and give my girlfriend an honest chance — because I know that she’s magnificent — I will fund your entire club. All clothes, all expenses, all props, venue, is on me. Fair?”

The woman thinks for a moment. Silas know that the club is underfunded. He knows that she has to agree.

“Okay”, the woman says shortly. 

“Good”, Silas replies and waves at you to come over. 

You skip over with sparkling eyes. He pulls you in to kiss him, in front of everybody. His kisses are always controlled by him, but they always show extremely much love for you, a deep hunger nothing can satisfy. 

“My men will stay to supervise, to make sure nothing happens to you”, he says and gives you another kiss. “Have fun now, little thing. I’ll see you soon.”

You nod. Silas squeezes your shoulder, gives the group of ballerinas a warning stare and then leaves. 

You return to the group. The people who knows who Silas is give you nervous gazes and the ones who don’t look at you with jealousy. 

Well, this is starting off great, you’ll absolutely make many friends.

Time goes on. Silas enjoys seeing the wise smile on your face every time you exit the building after a practice. Every time you’re in practice, he takes the opportunity to do some errands. He always makes sure to come pick you up clean, never covered in blood. 

But one day, you’re crying when you meet him. His heart drops in an instant and he thinks that putting you in ballet was a mistake. It wasn’t worth it at all. 

“What happened, baby?” he asks worriedly and takes you in his arms. “What did they do to you?”

You struggle to talk through your violent sobs. He believes that you’re having a panic attack, but you can still move relatively well. Silas grabs your shoulders and waves at his men to come over. 

“Y/N, what did they do to you?” he asks and looks at his men. “Did any of the others hurt her?”

The men shake their heads. 

“Y/N!” Silas says sharply. 

“I-I didn’t … get … the ... lead role”, you manage to get out through your sobs. 

You know it’s silly, of course. Honestly. It’s childish to cry over not being the main character, but this was your only chance to be on stage before you’ll get pulled back into capture. You’ll never have this much freedom again. It’s embarrassing to cry about this, and you know that very well, but they don’t know how much you’ve suffered to even be in the practice room. 

“You didn’t?” Silas asks shortly. 

“No”, you cry. 

Silas turns to his men and hands you to one of them. 

“Bring her to the car”, he says. “I will be back soon.”

He disappears into the building. The practice room is empty, apart from the constructor who is cleaning up after today's class.

“Oh”, she says, noticing him. “Can I help you?”

“If you're smart, you can”, Silas says coldly. “I heard that Y/N didn't get the lead role. I'm just wondering why?”

“She wasn't exactly what I had in mind for this particular role … I mean, she's extremely good, but just not what I had in mind when I visualized the lead. She's a runner up, though.”

Not good enough, Silas thinks.

“Okay”, he says and nods. “I see.”

Without waiting for an answer, he turns around and leaves. Anger is burning through his chest. Seeing you so upset makes him see red. He would burn down the entire world for you to watch you smile. He walks back to the car where you sit in the backseat and the two men in the front. 

“Hey, baby”, he smiles and sits down beside you. “Are you feeling better? Should we get some food on the way home?”

You nod. Silas smiles and wipes your tears. His men are forced to hear how he sucks the air out of you in the backseat. He devours your lips, trying to comfort both you and himself. He holds you in his arms, letting you cry. The more you cry, the more embarrassed you feel. You’re ashamed because you can’t understand why you are so upset over it. It’s just a role, you’ll still be on stage, won’t you? Is it because you think that you’re better than the others? That you deserve the position of the lead? Do you deserve it because you’re so good or because this is your only chance? The others have many more opportunities to get the role you want, why can’t you just get one? You’ll never be seen again, why can’t you get it?

Why are you thinking like this? You’re not entitled to anything. Has Silas imprinted the narrative that you’re so special, so wonderful that deeply into your brain? Do you believe that you’re this special, one of a kind person that deserve everything because you’re so special? 

“Baby, what’s wrong?” Silas asks, caressing your cheek. “You look so thoughtful. Let me in.”

“I- … I- …”, you start, but can’t seem to talk — you can’t even formulate your own thoughts.

“Breathe, baby. It’s okay, you’re with me now.”

“I am breathing … I just …”

“Just …?”

You shake your head. 

“Just hungry”, you lie. “And tired.”

“It’s okay, you’ll get some food soon”, Silas promises and kisses your lips once again. “We’ll stop by McDonald’s.”

You get your food and you eat together with Silas in your bedroom, but you can’t stop thinking about the lump in your stomach. Why are you so upset? Why can’t you put words on your feelings? 

You lay awake the entire night in your empty bed (because Silas is out working) and think. Crying over not getting the lead role won’t make you enjoy the last few weeks in the club. Ballet is your true love, you should do everything you can to enjoy it — specifically because you’ll not get it back. You should be happy with your role — you’re even a runner up! That’s fantastic. You breathe out. Ease sets into your heart. It doesn’t matter what role you get, as long as you have fun. 

When you enter the practice room the next time, you can tell that something is wrong right away. The girl who got the lead part … has crutches. You feel a shiver run down your back. Mortified, you shake your head. Silas. He must have done something to give you the lead role, that you so desperately wanted. He never got to know that you became satisfied with your original role. Guilt washes over you, suddenly you feel extremely sick. You need to take a hold on the wall to not fall. One hand presses against your chest to not vomit. 

“Y/N, are you okay?” one of the body guards asks as they hurry over. 

You nod sloppily. 

Fuck, fuck, fuck, oh my god. This is all my fault. 

This is what you had been feeling bad about — finally you can put words on that weird feeling in your stomach. You were scared that Silas would do something to the girl that got the lead without even noticing it. If anything, that shows how close you know Silas.

“He … he did this … didn’t he?” you whisper, feeling distant. 

“The boss couldn’t stand to watch you be upset”, one of the body guards answers quietly, only for you to hear. “He made sure to get you the role he wanted.”

You’re freezing. That poor girl. Suddenly you don’t want that part anymore. The part is dirty, and your hands are covered in blood. 

Your mind is anywhere but in practice when you dance your stolen part, but your body works for you. 

Silas is standing out in the parking lot a wide smile when you walk out. He opens his arms for you, but you don’t walk into them. 

“Are you happy now?” he asks. 

“You shouldn’t have done that, Silas …”, you say quietly and shake your head. 

He tries to grab you, but you jerk back. Silas frowns. 

“But you wanted it”, he says. “You had a panic attack. I gave the part to you.”

“Silas, I feel extremely guilty. I stole her part. It’s not fair.”

He grabs your shoulders and force you to look at him. 

“The world isn’t fair, little thing”, he says. “If you have some power, use it. I want to use my power to make you happy, baby. You’ll do better than that girl ever could. You should have gotten that part from the very beginning.”

He gives you a kiss and brings you to the car. 

When the day for the performance arrive, you refuse to come out of the dressing room. The costume looks horrible on you. You can only see the other girl in the mirror. None of the other girls have talked to you after the lead girl ended up with crutches. They all know why you got the role. And how you got it. 

“We start in five minutes, get out!” the instructor tells you and basically pulls you out on stage. 

You see a lot of familiar faces in the crowd. Silas has brought as many of his men as he possibly could. Silas himself is sitting in the front row with his right hand man beside him, smiling at you. You look around. All his men are smiling at you. Weirdly enough, it’s somehow cute. They all look like they could kill anyone in any second, but the second you look their way, big, genuine smiles creeps up on their faces. Turning them from killer machines to teddy bears. 

You dance to the best of your ability. This is what you’ve been begging and pleading for. Better enjoy the spotlight while you can. You can’t help but feeling dirty throughout the performance. Silas, however, has never looked this proud before. 

The second the applauds roll in, you fall to your knees, crying. You fulfilled your childhood dream, but at what cost? A girl broke her leg because of your emotions, you stole her role … you’re covered in dirt that you can’t wash off. You don’t deserve these applauds. You don’t deserve any of this. 

“Y/N!” Silas gasps and runs up on the stage with his right hand man by his side. “Are you okay, baby?”

“I want to go home”, you sob. “Get me out of here.”

Silas nods and waves at his men to walk out. He picks you up and follows his men. 

“You did so well, baby”, Silas smiles while walking. “I’ma always proud of you, but this was something else. Everyone saw how absolutely fantastic you were. You’re an absolute badass, baby. I fucking love you so much.”

You smile slightly. It’s finally over. You’ve achieved your dream — although you wish that you never had done it — and now, you’re going back to your locked bedroom. You almost long for it.

↪dazai had a murky past that not many knew of. if they did, they knew of his extensive list of crimes ranging from simple shoplifting to murder. ending another person's life wasn't a foreign concept to him but he had made a change, he promised.

↪he knew it was an act of self defence on your end. you both were aware that you did have an ability but the only issue was the fact that neither of you knew how it actually activated. unfortunately it had activated when you were trying to protect yourself.

↪you hadn't meant to shoot, merely hold the gun up as an act of protection but unfortunately the person had gotten to close and you panicked. the very second dazai heard a gunshot he rushed to where you were, only sewing you shaking as a body lay infront of you in a puddle of scarlet.

↪as soon as you saw dazai, you broke down. fortunately dazai was there to rush and catch you before you hit the ground. he held you close and let you cry it all out. he wasn't exactly the best emotionally but he could only try.

↪taking someone's life was definitely guilt worthy especially if it was an accident. he wouldn't tell anyone and he'd get you to not tell anyone because that would cause more trouble and he knew all you needed was time to yourself to process and he'd be their to help his best.

↪the port mafia was ruthless, it was a fight to survive and work your way up the ranks. to prove your worth and stick around you had to be useful, unfortunately in the mafia that often meant committing crimes. more specifically murdering traitors and anyone who opposed to the mafia. akutagawa was no exception.

↪he would admit that he'd thought he'd be much more unfeeling to seeing someone get shot but maybe it was because his lover who had killed on accident that made him care. especially when you were practically frozen in shock.

↪he managed to catch you with rashomon before you collapsed due to your shock. he couldn't remember the first time he killed but his circumstances were definitely different and so he couldn't understand how you were feeling. but he wasn't an idiot. he could tell you were suffering.

↪again, he wasn't the most emotional or sympathetic person but he knew you needed comfort. as soon as you felt his arms awkwardly wrap around you, you started crying. he tried his hardest to comfort you but he wasn't the greatest.

↪he probably would have to enlist help from gin to ensure that you recovered from the shock but you knew he was trying his hardest. it was just that difficult for him.

↪nobody except himself really knew what he had lived through and experienced. although one thing was for certain and that was the fact that he had committed a wide variety of crimes with little remorse. it didn't trouble him to dispose of someone to achieve his goals.

↪but he had grown so unfeeling and used to the feeling of killing that it didn't matter, but then there was you. someone who had never killed before and hadn't meant to even claim your first kill. fyodor had almost forgot how taxing killing someone could be, he only remembered after seeing you in such a state.

↪for a third time, he wasn't the great with emotions and barely had a shred of sympathy, but something didn't sit right with him about seeing you crumble. he was almost in just as much shock as you about how to react.

↪he slowly moved closer to you as you fellto the ground, crying and shaking. he pulled you into a gentle embrace as he tried gently shushing you as a form of comfort but he was truly lost about how to comfort you.

↪for a final time, he isn't the most sympathetic nor is he the most emotional. he doesn't care for much and it takes a lot to get a genuine reaction from him but seeing his lover crying and shaking over a dead body would definitely worry him.

✩ however he does have his limits- and if he pushes himself too far he can risk folding in on himself (which has happened.)

✩ 2nd fact ! he can become flat and stick to surfaces or fit through super tight spaces with ease ✨

✩ 3rd fact ! He can make doubles of himself so he can observe situations without getting himself into harm’s way. only downside is,,

In which Jamil and Kalim are a couple of Demon Kings, but they felt that something was missing, or rather someone. And one day while walking through the forest, they find/meet MC, the Princess of Angels with her back bleeding, which leaves them both worried, so after using a spell to heal their wounds, they discover the truth about the Kingdom of Angels, that they pretend to be good just to have the adoration of humans and fight and kill demons for no reason and for power, and when MC protected and saved a demon who was going to be killed unjustly, her own parents ripped off her wings as "punishment for defending an evil demon", and before they could do anything else with her, MC fled to the forest, it turns out that this demon she saved was Najma, Jamil's sister who had been missing for a week, So as a thank you, Jamil and Kalim decided to welcome MC into their kingdom to help her hide from the angels, in addition to helping her expose the true face of angels to humans, but for the MC to be able to live and survive in the Demon Kingdom, she would have to drink a drop of blood from both kings of the kingdom and she did, and because of the blood, MC regained her wings, but now they were black. And during that time, the three began to fall in love with each other, and after exposing the truth to humans and the angels being banished, Jamil, MC and Kalim got married.

You were a freshly made angel. Made to guide innocent souls into the pearl gates of heaven! This isn't your first human and it wont be your last! You take pride in helping souls see the light and spreading that joy in the world until their last moments.

You learned to love the souls that you guide. Watching their growth and struggles, then watching them over come their struggles and become an amazing person that others can find strength in. doing your job is your heavenly pleasure.

This time, you were assigned a human named, Kalim Al-Asim. An innocent human that finds mayhem everywhere he goes. Assassins that try to kill him through food being poison to just being jumped in the streets.

Your heart broke watching this sweet boy being chased by thugs left and right. You knew you had to do something.

when you got to his home, with a little invisibility spell that makes you undetectable to mortal's eyes, you noticed that this boy's life, besides the murder attempts, was actually very nice. His family takes great care of him and they make lots of money.

"maybe that's why there's so many murder attempts made? why do humans care so much about these physical items..?"

"It's because human's need to sin."

You jumped at the mysterious voice and turn to find eyes piercing at you. It was a man! He was standing in the shadows so you couldn't make out his features. You stayed quiet and still. If this is a ordinary human, then he shouldn't have heard you, or even see you. But if he isn't an ordinary human, this could mean trouble.

Neither of you made a move, it was almost like either one of you were waiting for the other to jump...

Something finally happened as Kalim walked into the room you both were in to grab a cup of water. Kalim stayed for a bit until he went back upstairs to go back to sleep.

Once you heard Kalim's bedroom door clicked shut. The shadow jumped at you. you nearly dodged it but quickly ran to the balcony, opened your wings and took off.

even though you could cast a spell that made you invisible to mortals, it doesn't mean that the noise you make will be muted.

you were about to return to your home until something slams into you, grabbing you in mid air.

When you opened your eyes, you saw the same eyes that were looking at you before. this time with the help of the moonlight, you saw his features. dark skin and black hair, he had blacked out eyes with the pupils being grey. He wore black, red, and gold accents clothing. But the more important parts of him are his pointy ears, black wings and.. horns.

"Hello there~ I'm Jamil Viper. I'm the demon that was assigned... to you."

You tried your best at struggling but his grip on you was too strong. But what does he mean assigned to you? doesn't he mean, assign to the human..? you eventually stop your struggling to talk to him, maybe you could wait until he's distracted and fly off..?

"Youve got me. What are you gonna do now..? ...Cut off my wings? um..."

you drew a blank thinking of other torture methods. Then again, that is a demon's strong suit, it probably comes to them like second nature..

"Why in the realms would i do such a thing? You're wings are one of your greatest charms~"

Jamil pulls you close, speaking right to your face.

"I'll let you protect that HUMAN. But mind you, i will come back again-"

Black shadow-like clouds form, swallowing him up.

"- and when i do, i will collect."

You shut your eyes, still feeling his hands around you until the very end. when you open your eyes, he was gone and you were alone in the night sky...

The past few days, you've been on edge. both worried that the demon might come back to hurt Kalim or you. You tried your best to stay focused but you kept feeling the piercing eyes like someone is watching you.

The things that Jamil said is still stuck in your mind. the wording was strange. You weren't used to dealing with demons and you didn't have time to ask any other angels about it so you just have to go with your instincts... and what your instincts is telling you to do right now is to protect Kalim... as best as you can.

To say this was a hard mission, was an understatement. You loved your job, but with the paranoia about Jamil and protecting Kalim. you felt like you were on a fine line...

You were scared that if you weren't careful, someone might get hur-

"my my~ You look awful.."

You spun your head around and saw Jamil, standing by the door way. He had a knife in one hand and rope in the other. You grabbed the nearest weapon, a knife, and threw it at the demon!

Jamil smirked and faded into the mist, leaving the knife.. imbedded into one of Kalim's maid that was just passing by!

She stumbled a bit before leaning against a nearby wall for support.

Your body became ice cold as you rushed to the maid's side and inspected her wounds. She was coughing a lot of blood and she held her wound with one hand. Tears ran down her face as she looked around confused and scared. You tried your best at helping her but it was useless. she was gone in minutes and no one was around to help...

You felt cold, this has never happened before and you weren't prepared for this kind of event. the angels gave you advice about "things you should know about humans", but they never mentioned anything if you were to accidently take a life!!!

You heard Kalim yell. You turn to look at him as he runs to check the maid.

Hot tears started to fall from your face. what were you suppose to do..? What's gonna happen to this person? what's gonna happen to you?? all you could really do was hold the body in your arms and kept repeating "I'm sorry"s.

"My my~ what will the heavens think of this..? their sweet angel... murdering an innocent soul"

You slowly turns to see Jamil looking down at you, with a sickening smile. You felt so many feelings you've never felt before. Rage, hatred, disgusted, sadness, depression, and... fear.

Jamil walks towards you and kneels to your level.

"Heaven might not accept you now. But we will~"

"Don't worry, angel~ you're still a good angel to me~"

You slowly turn to look at Kalim. he was looking straight at you, giving you his bright smile.

Jamil tried to reach out for you but you quickly pushed him to the side and took flight. Maybe if you explain to them what happened, they'll forgive you. You open a portal and tried flying through. Not only did you fly through but the portal failed. Instead of going to your sweet home to feel the warmth of your angel comrades, you felt the burning feeling of your wings changing from white to black.

It felt horrible. felt like hot tar was being poured on your wings. you screamed in pain. the pain got so unbearable that you couldn't maintain altitude. you started to fall.

you watched as this was likely the last time you'll see the pretty blue sky and those comfy white clouds...

You watched as your tears fall in a different pace than you...

You watched as your halo disappears from your head...

You closed your eyes as you just felt numb to everything. allowing yourself to just fall.

you felt something strange, when you opened your eyes, you looked and saw Kalim with Jamil! Kalim with his horns and tail...

They were both looking at you, smiling. A smile that made your stomach turn.

Everything finally clicked.

They lure you in with the innocent human act!

Youve should have known from that first night, when you ran into Jamil. How Kalim conveniently joined both of you. The stares from Jamil, in the shadows, and Kalim, in the daylight, that stayed on you a little too long.

And that maid... that unfortunate maid. She wasn't suppose to be there... unless it was all planned.

Jamil made sure to were uneasy and paranoid and Kalim made it so that if your fight or flight kicks in, you'll fight to protect a "poor defenseless human"

i know i said i wouldnt be ranting about totk anymore, but i realized i didnt really count the sage dungeons as story (dont ask me why) so i thought im gonna write a better summarized version of my opinion about totk (i have around 60% of the game, all lightroots, not yet all shrines (missing like .. 20 or so, know the reward), not all krogs (dont know the reward), not all mayoi (half know the reward?) )

(in no particular order)

good stuff (in my opinion)

the. MUSIC! god the music is good, it was good in botw too but now with much more different bosses it really is probably one of my fav soundtracks of all time (most fav are all three phases of the end fight, the pre-fight to that, the build up one before all of those, Frosgeira (wind tempel boss) the glorious mASTER KOGA and more tbh)

the build up and end boss fight(s) are fantastic, i dont think im ever not gonna have my heart racing when approaching it (despite now skipping almost the entire way bc i set a teleport thing right before it) just bc the build up is so well made and the music(again) is such a banger and the fight(s) itself is so fun too, tbh i keep wanting to play it just bc its so fun

i LOVE how many themes play into the music (endfight alone had so many layers, fav probably is ganondorfs classic theme and calamity ganons both in the same piece among much more, and daruks theme in the fire temple)

bosses are very different from each other

main dungeons are not too short and not too long and mostly fun (mostly bc i personally didnt like the gerudo one), i love that you can still somewhat cheese them and do them your way

sages felt like they got a bit more involved

(edit) you gotta do more stuff before getting to the actual dungeons and i really like that, feels less like a fetch quest but that you are actually helping

(edit) each sage is actually there in the dungeon and is required for it, which is great!

each settlement saw a much bigger danger/change (tho that has more impact if you have played botw) and its problems felt much more real

shrines are well varied tho i think overall a little easy (only got stuck on two so far and later solved them easily bc when i first started them i was tired and exhausted, no brain left lol)

NPCs felt less flat + more bigger sidequests that felt like they had more impact

cool new monsters + designs

the underground was pretty appropiately creepy

the sages abilities are neat

you can refight bosses!!

stable points system is a neat way to encourage you using them

weapon fusing is neat

(edit) the forest of the krogs being corrupted like that is both creepy and a neat nod to oot

(edit) the vai gerudo outfit being gone!! (one) evil has been defeated

(edit) the health bar going so far off the middle in ganondorfs second phase is honestly just funny hnjdfdjk unfortunate that you only need the master sword and with a few perfect dodges his health melts like butter in the summer

(edit) the music when dragondorf transforms sounds so sad .. its probably meant as a oh no world is actually ending sad but i like to think of it as a oh god what did he do to himself sad

the scene where rauru seals ganondorf kinda fruity

(graphic, animations and the overall world is still fantastic)

bad stuff (in my opinion)

everything zonau they feel forced into every bit of the world and its history (i know them being somewhat alien is intentional but not like that) it feels crammed into places they werent before and shouldnt be and it makes it all feel very artificial

the glyphs/dragon tears/memories really ruined alot for me, while it gave you insight as to what happened, it felt like it showed you too much and too little at the same time and i think it would have worked better if it was all in text for once if even at all, so the past stil stayed a mystery and youd be left wondering

timetravel .. really wasnt necessary and felt more like an excuse to get rid of zelda + make her the poor little sacrificial girl again + and to make her turning into a dragon as tragic as possible, like nothing but a stepping stone to the big reveal tm

shiekah tech being not just fully irrelevant but practically erased, wiped off the world (i know about the literally last guardian parts in hateno, it feels more like an oversight tbh, purah technically using it ... tho i dont think she ever calls it that, the purah pad is jsut the sheikah stone but worse), there being no good explanation, no remains, nothing as to why it would suddendly stop working and why even the titans and ESPEICALLY the shrine of life would be destroyed, if anything why wouldnt you enshrine it as a memento to history it was such a focus in botw and so well integrated into the world that it being fully gone, not even old overgrown, or visibly reused to build homes etc., or remains of how they built the og shrines in the underground feels like a HUGE missed opportunity (seriously it would have been so easy to make the ancient shiekah base their tech on old zonau tech, without stealign the gocus but buildign a connection)

all of the continuity problems, totk feels like botw didnt happen and the excuse of 'they didnt want to confuse new players' doesnt make a lick of sense in my eyes bc; its supposed to be a sequel, if you want it to be a standalone game then dont call it a sequel- if you start to play a game with the sequel instead of the first part its your own damn fault if you get confused; if anything, it would have been a good opportuntiy to make people interested in botw so theyd buy and play that one too

ganondorfs character is very flat, you basically get to know nothing about him (yuno even calls that out midgame but its never elaborated upon nhgfrdfhkk)

the zonau and their kingdom of hyrule is presented as this so perfectly good thing to such a degree it turns creepy, the end cutscene with mineru going poof was kinda uncomfy to watch tbh

the reward for all shrines being essentially a reveal as to who the hero in the tapestry was and it being, of course, some weird half zonau is the lamest answer to a mystery i didnt want an anwser too, it doesnt feel like it came naturally either (again my point of the zonau being forced into everything)

the shrines (zonau) feel so much more unnatural than the shiekah shrines, alien in a bad way and not in a good way + really are like a bad reskin of them, their sudden appearance and use is so much less logical

back in botw i was doubtful of if the shiekah tech wasnt going to far too modern tech and cause it all to feel like a bad mix of modern tech and medival fantasy, but they balanced it perfectly (tho the eponator zero was very much the limit imo) but the zonau tech .... oversteps that line i think, it really does feel, more than anything else, that it was just bc they wanted the stuff to be in there bc it might be fun to play around with, im not against that kind of stuff mind you im all for fun, but it feels a little like they thought of a box with endless stuff to play with first and a zelda game second (if you get what i mean)

quite a few quests or things in the game seem like they are more and then end in a dead end (the worst of all is impa saying she wants to go research what could help zelda turn back, and i was excited and convinced that shed give me a quest to find some mcguffin that would do that after i beat ganon but there wasnt anything you could actually do; less bad one but disappointing nonetheless the dongos were mentioned and treated like this big awesome thing from alot of NPCs all around the map and then when you find them they are bascially just gem vending maschines)

the way zelda turns back and link gets his arm back is incredibly unsatisfying, none of them even have something like a scar, or mark from it all, zelda spent thousands of years as a dragon (a transformation that was said to cost your soul but i guess that wasnt true) and link had his arm bascially eaten by miasma and he gets it back like it was never lost, zelda returns all intact as if nothing happened, getting blasted by some magic tm by two ghosts that were supposed to be long gone is the solution to all problems!!

(edit) link losing an arm wouldnt just be super intersting but also lend itself well to lead up into the next game where his prothesis is the focus and source of abilities

(edit) zelda got done so dirty, instead of her actual interests and character to shine she just gets shoved into yet another crisis surrounded by strangers in a world that looks like hers but isnt, and all she does is beg the ancient sages to swear to help link and sacrifice herself again (can you call that fridging? bc she sure feels like she got fridged) i like zelda and i dont like how much i didnt care about her and tbh im angry at the game for that

(edit) both link and zelda not even slightly changing in the years btween botw and totk kinda boring, like a haircut can only do so much

(edit) sonia really is the wife that dies to make husband sad thing isnt she? i get that gan had to get his hands on an enigma stone but i feel like there had been better ways to do that, the fact that she dies that easily is almost funny honestly, why does ganondorf even have weapons when he can just one punch people to death (tho i find it funny to imagine he can literally just kill people in one punch but hes too prideful to do it most of the time so he always uses weapons to look more cool)

(edit) so many new characters that you barely get to see or interact with, i really ... couldnt get myself to care much

(edit) zonau tech being so irrelevant to the games story while its also the focus is .. weird, its really just play doh for the players and nothing else honestly

(edit) monsters mining sonanium feels strange bc ... they dont do anything with it? the best thing i can think of is that they were told to do that so link cant .. upgrade his battery thignies? but then again you could just destroy the mines and remaining constructs to stop it .... also you really dont need anything zonau tech related to beat gan?

(edit) ganondorf beign so utterly uninterested in their tech is weird considering how he dealt with shiekah tech (and we KNOW it can get corrupted) he should be a tech nerd tbh

i find it very strange that yuno seemingly lost daruk shield, despite him having inhereted it in botw

the sage powers are not .. very great integrated, while its fun to haven them run around and help you fight, to actually use their powers you have to chase after them, something that in the heat of a battle is very annoying to do, constantly activating the wrong on or them losing their charge up when they get knocked over is like trying to herd a wild pack of geese while a three headed dragon is shotting laserbeams at you

some widlife just disappearing all of the sudden is very strange (like the rhino in hebra)

some new houses or settlements would have been cool, that the material things at the sides of roads are really only for you to play around with and not to build anything that lasts

you cant fight ganondorf (non dragon, even the dragon is locked to that evening sky) in the sunlight, night or rain, i would have loved to fight him at various times of day

their refusal to show any kind of blood is honestly turnign serious scenes into very awkward ones, sonia just getting punched and she dies with not even like, losing some spit from the force or something, or the fact when you defeat ganondorfs second phase he acts mortally wounded but doesnt even look scratched is just :/

amiibo stuff while neat being included its really mostly just bloating your inventory, if i wanted 5 vaguely different link outfits then i would have gotten the amiibo for it

why hide the -now-totally-not-phantom-ganon-armor- behind such a long questline and then .. have that NOT be upgradable

they put in a house building thingy and then not let you have a roof or a tree or something :(

at some point stable points jsut get you more and more of those free staying over night tickets that i maybe used .. once at the very start and now its just accumulating in my inventory

only one new horse coat pattern :(

satori now only being a thingy that shows you caves is kinda boring, i loved the mystery around it in botw (additionally, that it shows you caves you have completed already kinda sucks)

the end of the shrines isnt that cool anymore, speaking to a mummified monk that gives you essentially his last remains of life energy is so much cooler than a statue of the oh so awesome god king and his wife

the many references and reuse of old names is neat but together with timetravel etc. it easily leads to confusing and fighting among fans for who is more 'right' and its just .. tiring

(edit) considering how much of the advertising was about the sky islands i wished there were more and bigger ones, the underground (that was a little one sided after a while, it all looking the same rly) could have been alot smaller if the sky was bigger instead

(edit) i wished there was more of a sense of .. lost life in the ruins you find, from all races, the ancient ruins are jsut some bridged and ceremonial stuff and i wished there were more like .. houses, like people actually lived there and it not being all around beign a platform for you

(edit) the fact that the half zonau hero exists mean either rauru and sonia had kids but those were clearly not important enough to ever show nor mention, or there were other mixing of them before they all mysteriously died out the fact that the ancient hero was half zonau means their genes survided till then but somehow it never came up? the tapestry still exists and impa and purah say like its a well known fact that the hero looked like that (not at all close to any modern species) when you talk to them while wearing it (the fact that the hero armor thingy is very reminiscemt of ganondorf is like some backtreading bc we were theorizing about the hero having been ganondorf once and they wanted to stop that .. but the more funny thing is the HC of its a descdendet of rauru and ganondorf nhjdfknhdgkfnhkfd) (edit to add to the HC; the game being a big battle about child support is funnier than it should be idk if nintendo knew what they were doing adding details like that)

all in all it just feels like missed opportunities, lost potential, and more a game build around some game mechanics they really wanted to get into than telling a neat story, espeically so bc they called it a sequel, most of my complaints wouldnt be there if it was some alternate thing instead

i probably forgot stuff but if i think of more i will add them later with a little note that it was added in an edit (sidenote, i find it funny how much more nuance that whole conflict would get if rauru and ganondorf were bitter exes bfdrjfbdfndk)

Flurry is Meau’s unexpected, but welcomed future kit despite all odds! Initially Meau thought they would never be able to have another kit without it being still born or a miscarriage due to the corrosion of a lot of internal DNA. So unlike Mew, Meau did not selectively create them, it was instead a “let’s wing it” and then it came out shiny X3 which, in general shiny Pokémon are a phenomenon to Meau in general.

They are mischief and malice incarnate as a baby, basically they will find trouble no matter what. Aka, they are a great attack projectile, instant carnage! They also have their signature tail of doom, there’s a-LOT of muscle in it in order to lift and use it with all that dense fur. However it’s contributed to them having an intense fear of water as their tails weight will drag them down and drown them in worst case scenario. In the future they end up with a mew turned mewtwo as a mate called Anemone, how is murky, as they belong to @blues-sues X3 it may be an out of universe things but it’s just two lil fellas having a good time together ;3

2023 was actually... 10 times better than last year THATS FOR SURE! Alot pop up that well... Lets just it was one of the best things that has happen for a while and other things slowly gotten way better~ Still looking a job but myeah TwT Besides that... 2023 was the start of a change in my life, even with still having struggles it went great~ >/w/<

The YouTubers don't want you know that MM&B is actually one of the best classic series games and is the better of the 2 snes games between it and 7. It's not really that hard of a hard game either. People who act like it's one of the most unforgiving games in the franchise are just bad at Mega Man games.

Each character has their pros and cons (although Bass is definitely easy mode overall), and you can buy upgrades over time to decrease the difficulty. Even a game over doesn't mean all is lost since you can spend the bolts you got in the level you died in to get upgrades. Playing as Mega Man makes bosses easier to defeat because his shots do more damage and the slide is a great and quick way to dodge attacks, but levels are more difficult because he can't double jump or skip entire sections with giant leaps. Bass can, which is why levels are piss easy when you play as him, but bosses are initially tough because his buster does shit damage until you get an upgrade for it. Bass also has Treble boost which lets him fly over entire screens. And people say this game is brutal?

The level design is actually pretty good I think, more fun than half the games in the classic series and far more stimulating than most X series levels. Bosses actually force you to use your brain, even when you have their weaknesses (excluding a few). For the longest time I thought Astro Man was unreasonable for a starter boss but now that I don't totally suck at Mega Man games it was actually possible for me to beat him buster-only within a few tries, and it was satisfying to learn how.

There's no e-tanks, but you do have:

-An ability to increase how much you gain from health and ammo pickups

-An ability to receive less damage

-An ability to increase damage output when you're low on health (very good against bosses)

-Rush search which digs up ammo and health

Which is quite frankly way more forgiving than Mega Man 1, while still not giving you the ability to bypass challenge with a stock of health refills. I think this is great.

The biggest problem with the game is that the King Mechs are very tedious, and sometimes enemy placement is cheap (which is not unique to this game at all lol).

The soundtrack is one of my favorite game osts, the graphics are in mm8's arstyle which is great cause I love how 8 looks, the special weapons are all pretty useful and fun to mess around with, and the robot master designs are totally sick.

I don't give a fuck about the gba version btw as there's literally no reason to play that version. If you use that port as a complaint against this game then you're stupid.

Anyway nobody gives a shit probably but I feel like this game has always been kinda overhated, and its difficulty is way overblown. I would choose this game over 1-3, 5-8, 10, all of the gameboy titles including V, X3, and X5-8. I haven't beaten 11 yet and I don't think it's fair to compare the ZX or Legends games here.

Rem as an NPC

Rem is an NPC in Elden Ring with a quest line that players can complete in order to gain some valuable items. Rem is a denizen of Caelid and former confidant of the Demigod, General Radahn, on a journey to say goodbye to the past and slay those responsible for the loss of his home. He wears a unique armor set and veil, has the silvery skin of a Nightfolk, silver hair and bright golden eyes. Progress through his quest line to unlock him as an NPC Summon Cooperator during specific boss battles.

Rem can also be encountered as an NPC Invader. He will invade the player near the Impassable Greatbridge in Caelid at any time of day. He wears light armor, wields a curved greatsword with a unique skill and uses the Staff of Loss to cast night sorceries.

LOCATIONS IN ELDEN RING

Rem can first be found near the Rotview Balcony site of grace, just past the Smoldering Church.

He can be found by the Chair-Crypt of Sellia site of grace, after the Nox Swordstress & Nox Priest boss fight.

When Redmane Castle is in Festival mode, Rem can be found in the courtyard. He can be summoned for the boss fight against Starscourge Radahn.

He will show up to the festival regardless of being interacted with previously, wherein he will then introduce himself if you speak with him.

His dialogue here is different depending on how well he knows the Tarnished at this point.

After the battle with Radahn, Rem can be found in the Wailing Dunes, near the Starscourge Radahn site of grace. Exhaust his dialogue here to attain his summon sign in the War-Dead Catacombs.

At the completion of the dungeon, Rem will be found standing by the entrance.

He can be found in the underground Uhl Palace Ruins, near the Ainsel River Sluice site of grace.

Sellia, Town of Sorcery.  Standing by an illusory tree, near the Sellia Backstreets site of grace. He will be at this location upon defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.

You do not have to summon him to proceed with his quest. He will have different dialogue for the player dependent on if he was summoned or not.

 Lastly, he can be found in Elphael, near the Roots of the Haligtree sight of grace.

This NPC moves.

This NPC can be fought.

If defeated as an NPC, drops: 6,000 runes & the Nox Descendant Set. You do not attain his great sword or special head gear if you fight him.

If defeated as an Invader, drops: Numen Rune, Preserving Bolous x3, & Redmane Earring Talisman.

NPC SUMMON BOSS FIGHTS

Nox Swordstress & Nox Priest: Rem’s summon sign can be found in Sellia, Town of Sorcery, just before the fog wall to face this boss.

Starscourge Radahn: His summon sign can be found within the boss arena.

Putrid Tree Spirit: Rem can be summoned for this boss within the War-Dead Catacombs after the defeat of Starscourge Radahn.

 Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella: Rem’s summon sign becomes available after the defeat of Starscourge Radahn.

Astel, Naturalborn of the Void: Rem’s summon sign can be found beside the Stake of Marika before the fog wall.

HOW TO COMPLETE REM'S QUEST

Questline Objectives:

Rem can be found lingering by the Rotting Shack, near the Rotview Balcony site of grace in Caelid. Exhaust all his dialog and rest at a site of grace to proceed with his quest.

Proceed along the Caelid Highway and head for Sellia, Town of Sorcery to the north. Light all 3 braziers located throughout the ghost town to access the boss: Nox Swordstress & Nox Priest. Upon lighting the 3rd brazier, Rem’s summon sign will be available for the duo boss. After the battle, speak with him before proceeding.

Rem will next be encountered in Redmane Castle, right before the boss fight with Starscourge Radahn. Speaking to him, he will reminisce and even speak of the castellan, Jaren. His dialogue here will differ depending on if you have previously met. If not, he will simply introduce himself.

If the player previously met Rem, they will receive a consumable item from him as a gift. [Boiled Crab]

After the boss battle with Starscourge Radahn, Rem will be found lingering by the Wailing Dunes site of grace. Speak to him, exhausting all of his dialogue before next heading north through the Wailing Dunes to the War-Dead Catacombs.

Rem will be available as an NPC Summon cooperator for the fight against the Putrid Tree Spirit.

After completing the War-Dead Catacombs, warp back to the entrance where you will find Rem standing by the entrance. Speak with him and you will attain the Mourner’s Veil, a unique headpiece. He will no longer be wearing this veil after gifting it to the player. Upon resting at a site of grace Rem will have moved on to his next location.

You will next find Rem underground, near Nokstella at the Ainsel River Sluice site of grace. Talking to Rem allows him to be an NPC Summon in two battles: Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella, & Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.

Players can reach Nokstella by traveling through the Ainsel River Main, or by using the waygate in Renna’s Rise (through Ranni’s quest).

Upon beating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void fast travel to the Sellia Backstreets site of grace to progress Rem’s quest. He will be here regardless of if you summoned him for the battle against Astel or not. His dialogue here will differ depending on if you did or didn’t summon him.

Before he departs, Rem will gift the player with the Ash of War: Mist Dance.

Rem will then move to Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. The player will encounter him in a room southeast of the Roots of the Haligtree site of grace. He will be found leaning against a wall, in poor shape. Exhaust all of his dialog. You will then be rewarded with Rem’s Greatsword & a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.

IMPORTANT: Should the player defeat Malenia before progressing Rem’s quest to the point of him reaching Elphael, his quest chain will stop at Sellia. It is important to progress Rem’s quest before facing Malenia if you wish to reach the end of his quest and receive the final rewards.

“Unusual. Most tarnished steer clear of this place. Watch your step; this land is sick with rot.”

“Call me Rem. Tarnished like you, though I no longer follow the guidance of grace. I’ve my own matters to resolve.”

“To the north lies a town called Sellia. A pair of Nox warriors are trapped in a hell of their own making, and I intend to put them to rest.”

(Combat) “You want to die so badly? Fine then!”

(When killed by Player) “This is it. I hope to see you again soon, General…”

(unprompted after the battle, to the Nox duo) “Your watch is over. Go now, into the embrace of the Night.”

“I see this place has your interest. Long ago, this was once a town of scholars, with the two Nox acting as wardens of this place. To see the sorry state of this town with my own eyes, and what they had become... It sickens me.”

“Thanks, for helping me free them. I’ve nothing to give to you, though maybe some information will suffice: To the south is Redmane Castle. A festival is to be held there soon, in honor of General Radahn. If you are eager for an opportunity to test your strength, go there when the time comes.”

Before Fighting Radahn at Redmane Castle

“I’m ashamed to admit, but I didn’t think you’d come. I’m pleased to be wrong, for once. Together, we will surely grant General Radahn the warrior’s death he deserves.”

“You wish to know why I’m here? I had once served in the Red Mane army; Radahn’s finest lieutenant and constant confidant. I wish to keep a promise to my General; to ensure his death is a just one. It pains me to see him so, wasting away in the wilds.”

“I’m surprised to see Jarren still alive and kicking, caring for the castle after all this time. Once all this is over, I’ll have to say hello to him.”

“Here. It is no good for a warrior to go into battle on an empty stomach. Although, it’s not good to fight on a full stomach either. Take small bites, I suppose.”  [Boiled Crab]

“I’ve not seen you before. I’m Rem, a Tarnished like yourself. You’ve come to Redmane Castle to challenge General Radahn I take it? Well, let us see your measure when the fighting starts.”

“It is done. Radahn, finally…you are at peace.”

“You fought well today. General Radahn would have been pleased. I only wish I could have done more for him in the end.”

“No doubt you saw that falling star, same as I. When the opportunity arises I wish to investigate. For now, I will say my goodbyes. To my General. To my comrades.”

Encounter at War-Dead Catacombs.

“Yet again, I must thank you. You are a sight to behold in battle! I came here to say goodbye to comrades I once knew. Admittedly, I don’t know what I expected, but perhaps with the death of something so foul, the souls within will at last find peace. I feel some relief knowing that.”

“I would ask a favor of you. Take this. Not only is it a token of my gratitude, but it will be a reminder to myself. The time for mourning is over.” [Mourner’s Veil]

“I must go now. With the stars again on the move, the calamity held back by General Radahn has been unshackled. I shall honor his memory by finishing what he started. Ensuring I snuff out the life of a malformed star.”

At the Ainsel River Sluice

“Hm, all these tunnels look the same, but I am certain of it. The calamity of the stars is closer now more than ever…”

“Ah, I had a feeling we’d meet again. The malformed star I spoke of before lies in wait somewhere beyond these old ruins. A contemptible creature not of this plane. It cannot be shackled in the sky as it once was, so it must instead be eliminated. Should you find this creature, I ask that you call on me. It would be a shame to miss out on such a fight.”

“Under more cheery circumstances, I would’ve liked to savor the opportunity to explore the Eternal Cities. To see the home of my ancestors. Perhaps you would like to see that too? For now, duty calls.”

After fighting Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. In Sellia, Town of Sorcery

“Hello again. Once more, I must thank you. That malformed star was like nothing I could have ever imagined. I feel at peace, knowing that we could bring to an end something that my General had been holding back for so long.”

“I would like to offer you this. Another token of gratitude, and of friendship. It is a technique I honed long ago, in this very town. May it serve you well.” [Ash of War: Mist Dance]

“There is something else I must tell you. I learned from a source that the One-Armed Valkyrie, Malenia, still lives. That she continues to draw breath while all of Caelid rots into the ground is something that I cannot forgive. What she did to my home. To my General…!  I will see to it that she is killed. I will take her head as recompense, and I will do so even if I, too, rot away in retaliation! It will be done! I will not ask you to follow me into this fool’s errand, but should we meet again in the Haligtree, I hope it shall be with us standing proud in the end. For now, this is goodbye, my friend.”

[Note: final dialogue in this chain does not take place if the quest sequence is broken & Player has already killed Malenia.]

ARMOR, WEAPONS & QUEST REWARDS

REM'S ARMOR SET

Rem’s armor is called the Nox Descendant Set, which is comprised of: Armor, Bracelets & Greaves. It shares stats very similar to the Nox Swordstress Set, but with a much higher immunity (190 total).  This armor set cannot be attained through his quest, and can only be attained fighting him as an NPC.

Description:

Silk and leather armor worn by Redmane Lieutenant Remiah. It is proudly designed to resemble the garb worn by those of the Eternal Cities and has been altered to better withstand the dangers of the Caelid wilds. When Remiah witnessed the Red Lion’s defense at Sellia he swore that day to become as a Swordstress to their Priestess– a staunch and unwavering defender.

QUEST REWARD: MOURNER’S VEIL

This piece of armor (head piece) is attained through Rem’s quest line, after completing the War-Dead Catacombs. It is a unique piece worn by Rem, and cannot be attained by fighting him as an NPC.

Description:

A headdress of thin silk adorned with an onyx visor that seems to obscure the wearer’s eyes. Worn by Redmane Lieutenant Remiah. “To shut out the horrors of my once beautiful home. May I remember it the way it once was. The way we once were…”  Raises Mind by 2.

QUEST REWARD:   ASH OF WAR: MIST DANCE

This Ash of War is a reward attained by the player upon meeting and speaking to Rem after beating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. Equipable on daggers, rapiers & longswords.

Description:

Defensive Ash of War invented by the Nox raised Remiah, which utilizes the flowing movement of the Nox Swordstresses to deftly avoid opponents while retaliating with a life-sapping mist that lingers for a short duration. 

QUEST REWARD: REM’S GREATSWORD

Rem’s sword is a curved greatsword that cannot be attained by fighting him as an NPC. It has a unique weapon skill and is a reward attained at the end of his quest. Can be upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones. It deals split damage of physical & magic, and scales best with dexterity & intelligence.

Description:

Curved greatsword of a man from Sellia, who devoted himself to the Red Lion of the battlefield; an act of fathomless gratitude and love. The blade is a gift from General Radahn. It shares the onyx blade and golden lion motif seen on the colossal blades of the red haired demigod, but is crafted for finesse and grace. It hums with the energy of gravitational magic. 

Unique Skill: Gravity Flow

Plunge blade point into the ground, emitting a gravitational pull that draws nearby enemies towards you. Follow up with a flurry of flowing strikes that ends in a blast of gravity magic, sending most foes flying backward. This Weapon skill was created by Remiah in dedication to the Red Lion.

Boiled Crab X1: Offered by Rem at Redmane Castle.

This is not offered if you have not met Rem before going to Redmane Castle.

Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone x1: received at the end of his quest.

Redmane Earring: Talisman dropped by Rem upon defeating him as an NPC Invader. Greatly raises Immunity. Its ruby and gold hues match closely to a certain General.

The talisman, when combined with the Nox Mourner’s Veil & Nox Descendant Armor Set, makes this set a great contender for passing through the Lake of Rot, mitigating the number of times the status will proc. On par with the mushroom armor set.

REM NOTES & TRIVIA

Rem’s name is short for Remiah, though at no point does he mention this to the player. His name is displayed in full on his Summon Cooperator sign, mentioned in relevant item descriptions, and displayed as an NPC Invader.  

Rem is a curt speaker, but as the player progresses through his quest, he warms up to the player and is more free with his words. By the end, he sees the player Tarnished as a friend, his own confidant.

Rem’s Armor Set and Talisman granting high immunity is reference to his end goal of finding Malenia and killing her.

The RedMane Earring is an accessory visible on Rem’s model; an earring with a long strand of red hair at the end. This is hinted (though without words) to be Radahn’s hair.

In Elphael, Rem will be found in the room with a large scarlet bloom, its owner a mystery. For his quest it can be implied that he fought and killed an offshoot similar to Millicent and her Sisters, the fight having drained him of the last of his strength.

You know, I find it to be truly fun to think about connections of various writers and wonder how those might play out in the story, however then I remember that Asagiri himself isn't particularly interested in doing this, aside from some exceptions. For better or for worse, which is a matter of preference, he truly creates an entirely new story with some references to the real people, despite using their names and alluding to their works. Usually I'm rather cool with that, "Let the man go wild, he's awesome! 🥰", however sometimes I can't help, but feel like it results in some missed opportunities for the story. If you name characters after real people, might as well play with the allusions to them a little more. Here are just some examples of the connections between the real writers, that I am aware of, yet they played no role in the BSD at all:

Akutagawa Ryunosuke was the student of Natsume Soseki and loved his teacher dearly - zero interactions between the two during the story

Q/Yumeno Kyusaku was quite a huge fan of Edogawa Ranpo and Edogawa later became the benefactor of the writer - zero interactions between the two during the story

Tayama Katai and Mori Ogai became acquaintances during the Russo-Japanese war and spent lots of time talking with one another while at it - zero interactions between the two during the story

Edogawa Ranpo was the first person to translate and introduce Lovecraft's writings in Japan - zero interactions between the two during the story

Akutagawa Ryunosuke loved Poe's works and translated them into Japanese - zero interactions between the two during the story

Nathaniel Hawthorne and Herman Melville were great friends and Melville adored Hawthorne so much, that it influenced the creation of "Moby-Dick" a lot and from what I have seen many people say he was actually in love (maybe the writer was indeed in love with him, but I am afraid, I'm not qualified enough to talk about this. Feel more than free to add info to the post) - zero interactions between the two during the story

H. P. Lovecraft was quite a fan of Edgar Allan Poe and his works were heavily influenced by him - zero interactions between the two during the story

Nikolai Gogol and Alexander Pushkin were great friends and influenced each other a lot - zero interactions between the two during the story

Fyodor Dostoevsky was one hell of a fanboy of Alexander Pushkin and even had the honor to give an official speech at the anniversary of the latter's death - zero interactions between the two during the story

And etc.

I mean, don't you guys think it would have been interesting to see Mori and Katai interact, given Katai's heavy dislike for the mafia? Hell, Mori might have even been made the main reason behind Katai's strong emotions! And then there's the situation with Akutagawa and Natsume. I find it to be truly surprising that Mori and Fukuzawa were made Natsume's students in the BSD, yet the person who was actually Natsume's student in real life hasn't even talked to him so far. Nathaniel and Melville are actually part of the same organization, yet there's nothing about it, though to be fair, the Guild members suffer from the lack of screentime in general. But just imagine if there was a tragic love story between the two instead of the one we got with Margaret arffufgbh. However, like I said in the beginning, it's a matter of preference. The story still works on its own and Asagiri still gives us from time to time such interesting references so in general I am very content and happy X3 I'm just saying here my thoughts on how fun it would have been, if he had gone even further

Just Like Old Times

It was another long night in Donnie’s lab. As per usual, Donnie, was working long and hard on another project. A hardware improvement to Shelldon was what he said. He promised it wouldn't take long, but he promised that every time. So when you woke up in the middle of the night and he was still working on it, you weren't surprised.

It was the norm by now. Every once in a while, you would come over to the lair, hang out for a while, and then stay the night. Donnie always had an extra bed for you to sleep on in his lab, so you could be close to him while you slept. He would lay with you until you would fall asleep, then he'd go back to working on whatever project until ungodly hours of the night.

"Donnie...you really gotta get some sleep sometime."

"Ah, but must I? It seems unnecessary when I could be much more productive. No one to bother me, complete silence...perfect working conditions."

"Listen, I have nothing against pulling an all nighter if need be. And although you may not feel it, your lack of sleep has certainly been affecting you."

After a bit more banter about his concerning sleep schedule, you finally convinced him to go to bed for the night. He said he might have trouble falling asleep, because he wasn't tired. He begrudgingly laid down on your chest, and let himself relax for once. As he laid there, he couldn't bring himself to try to fall asleep. His mind was filled with all the things he could be doing, too much work to be done. He thought he'd be up all night. But you knew how to fix that.

As you started to run your fingers softly across his shell, you could immediately feel his whole body loosen. All his muscles relaxed, and he closed his eyes. A minute later, you could hear a soft churring coming from inside his chest. It was one of his favorite feelings ever, the way you slowly caressed his gentle skin. His one and only weakness. Between his churrs, you could hear him mumbling a few words.

"Mmm...yes...ahh...thank you, love."

You chuckled at his attempt to thank you, and continued to run your fingers along his shell. Soon enough, he was fast asleep, cuddled up close to you. His arms wrapped around your torso, and his breathing slow and regular. As he slept, you kissed him good night and closed your eyes to fall asleep yourself. A small smile came to him while he slept, and shortly after you were both fast asleep.

That was the past. Nowadays, there was much more work to do for everyone. With the apocalypse, everyone had a job to do. You and Donnie were still together, thankfully. It wasn't easy, what with the apocalypse and everyone being so busy. Luckily, Leo had found a way for you and Donnie to work together in the same branch of the resistance so you still spent plenty of time together. Leo understood that you were very important to his brother, and he wanted to make sure that Donnie was in a good state of mind to help out.

Unfortunately, it didn't allow for much alone time with just the two of you. There were a few moments every once in a while, but not as much as either of you would have liked. It was just part of life now.

One day, as you were walking around the base to find anyone that needed help, you overheard someone arguing. The voices sounded very familiar...

"Donnie...please listen to me."

"Leo, I'm fine. I've done this before."

"Donnie, you were young. You weren't dealing with a literal apocalypse. You can't afford to do this now. You need your rest."

"It's not that bad, Leo."

"As one of the lead medics in this resistance, I can guarantee you it is that bad."

You stopped listening after that. Had Donnie not been sleeping? Why...? Donnie of all people should know that sleep is important to at least function, let alone fight Kraang. And he didn't even tell you? It was all so confusing...but what could you do?

You racked your brain for something to do to help. He needed to sleep. Anything to even help him rest. You couldn't just sit there and do nothing. Something, anything.

"Okay, um...ah, damn it. I gotta figure something out. Maybe...okay, what relaxes me? Music...not really. Reading? Possibly. Hugs? I do like hugs..."

Then it hit you. Of course, it was so simple. But would it still work? It had been so long since you and Donnie had the time to do that kind of thing. There was only one way to find out.

"Donnie? Do you have a minute? I need your help."

Donnie got up from where we was working, and walked over to you. He looked a little confused, as this was normally around the time you went to bed. He asked what you needed help with, and you lead him to the room you two shared. You sat on the bed in the middle of the room, then patted your lap.

"Come lay down, I want to try something."

Looking even more confused, he hesitantly laid across your lap, stomach down.

"Just sit still for a minute. Don't worry about anything."

As he laid down, you removed his battle shell. He started to turn over to object, but as soon as your fingers touched his shell, he gasped. He immediately laid back down, and his entire body was limp. He tried to speak, to say anything, but the feeling of comfort was so overwhelming that the only noises he could make were churrs and hums of joy. He was too weak to do anything else.

After a few minutes of stroking his shell, you lifted your hand to let him recover. When he finally spoke again, it was in a soft voice.

"Darling...that was..."

"Shh...it's okay. But we need to talk."

He turned to you with an inquisitive look on his face.

"I heard you and Leo arguing the other day. Donnie...are you not getting enough sleep?"

He winced. He didn't want you to know. The apocalypse, everything was a lot to deal with. He didn't want you worrying any more about him then you needed to. He sighed before finally answering.

"Yes...I'm sorry. There's so much work to be done. I thought I could just...pull a few all nighters and get it all done."

You looked at him, disappointed. You began to scold him, repeating back to him all the reasons Leo had given during the argument. As you went on, he slowly withdrew his face into his shell. After you were done, you paused and your expression changed from one of anger to one of concern.

"Donatello. I care about you. We all do. It hurts me to see you not taking care of yourself, especially in a time like this. Promise me you won't do this again."

Donnie was quiet for a minute. He was thinking hard. There was so much work to be done. It could all be done faster if he just skipped a little bit of sleep. But...then he look at you. Was it worth it? Was the pain he caused to you and everyone else worth a little of bit of extra work?

"...I suppose I can do that. But...can I ask one thing?"

You nodded and looked at him waiting for him to ask his question.

"...Can I have more shell rubs?"

You chuckled and agreed to his request. If it would stop him from staying up late, you would do anything.

"Now...come here. You're not leaving tonight, you're falling asleep here."

He snuggled up to you, letting himself relax once again. Through his churrs, he mumbled one more thing before closing his eyes and giving into the slumber.

"Just like...old times."
