I am getting visions…
First of all, I’m crying at the fact that Malleus’s Overblot markings LOOKS LIKE MELEANOR’S CROWN LIKE HELPPPP. Interesting how his scales are on both of his cheeks, shaped in the exact areas that Crowley’s mask would cover…
But Malleus’s hair really does look like a combo of Meleanor’s teal-ish hair and Crowley’s black hair…Abd the way his hair “curls” slightly at the ends reminds me of Crowley’s wavy hair compared to Meleanor’s straight hair….And the stupid glitter details on Crowley’s vest really gives the illusion of a corset shape. AND the shape of Malleus’ neckline is the exact shape of Crowley’s vest, with the downwards triangle. AND AND AND also Malleus’s corset seems to reference Meleanor’s in terms of intricacies, the corset is attached in the front, following a straight line for the silver hooks. CROWLEYS VEST LITERALLY BUTTONS UP IN THE SAME EXACT AREA
But what instantly drew my eyes was Malleus’ cape. Like it obviously resembles Maleficent’s, but the shape of the collar and the way it drapes over his shoulders really reminds me of Crowley’s…And Crowley’s coat lapels even has a small gradient to the SAME SHADE OF PURPLE THAT MALLEUS AND MELEANOR HAVE. Like it’s barely there, but ITS THERE
Crowley’s dark lips were already suspect, but now I’m raising my eyebrows even more 🤨 The blue-grey skin tone is intriguing, just because I don’t know what this could be a reference to? The Live action Maleficent’s skin tone? Diaval’s skin tone when he’s transforming from raven to human? Diablo being turned to stone in Sleeping Beauty?
Edit: Average Kallisto Moment means forgetting about Maleficent’s skin tone depending on the lighting in the OG movie 🤪 Thanks to everyone pointing this out! ✨
Tumblr media
The gloves are so interesting though. Meleanor has the gorgeous, intricate gloves, but the tips of all her fingers are covered, including her claws. Crowley’s gloves (or blot) covers his entire hand, and he has separate golden claws. He’s so dedicated to these gloves that he wears them in his vacation outfit lmao…Malleus’s gloves only cover his pinky and ring finger, which may be reference to Chinese nail guards that nobles used to wear? He also has long nails in this form.
I may just be getting desperate lmaoo, but Malleus’s cape also seems to have darker purple with a slight bluish tint compared to Meleanor’s. Reference to Crowley’s deep color scheme???!?! And Malleus has that weird belt tied around his corset, a la Final Fantasy haha. Crowley has…a belt. YEAH IM GETTING DESPERATE BUT DO YALL SEE MY VISIONS?!?!?!
please share if you see any more similarities I’m going insane 🙏🙏🙏🙏🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛
Edit: I forgot to add this but all three of them are hot and beautiful. Hope this helps!! 🤪💞

“red flowers”: fae, vargas camp 2, and glorious masquerade
Tumblr media
THERE’S SOMETHING IN VARGAS CAMP 2 THAT MADE ME DO A DOUBLE TAKE 👁️ 👄 👁️
So in 2-2, the pixies of the forest are trying to put out the campfires. The boys then talk about how there was a miner's campfire a while back that caused a forest fire, which naturally spooked the local fairies. AND THEN VIL GOES AND DROPS THIS DOOZIE OF A LINE:
Tumblr media
EXCUSE ME, VI L SIR??????? ?? ? ???? ? ? ?? ? ? ? Did you just say RED FLOWERS? Is that not similar to the CRIMSON FLOWERS/LOTUSES that ROLLO tried to use to establish a magicless Twisted Wonderland in Glorious Masquerade?!
ADDENDUM: I learned recently (very shortly after this post went live, actually!) that the “red flowers” may also be a reference to what the animals in the live action Jungle Book call fires. I’m not personally familiar with this film, so I’ll be running with the crimson lotus/Glorious Masquerade connection for the duration of this post!!
Looking at how the phrases are written in Japanese, they use the term 赤い花 ("akai no hana"/red flower) in Vargas Camp and 紅蓮の花 ("guren no hana"/crimson lotus flower) in Glorious Masquerade. Crimson is basically a specific kind of red, and lotus is just a certain type of flower. Even more damning is that fact that in 3-8 of Glorious Masquerade, Malleus EXPLICITLY describes the spreading crimson flowers as having "a brilliance like that of fire". You can see from images of the crimson lotus that they do, indeed, seem to glow like fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you look at the real life timeline of these events releasing, it also coincidentally lines up!! Like, the original release of Vargas Camp 2 (for JP server) was in mid to late SEPTEMBER 2022. Then Glorious Masquerade would come out mid to late OCTOBER 2022. Vargas Camp 2 was literally the new story event that came out RIGHT BEFORE Glorious Masquerade... WAS THIS FORESHADOWING??????????????? And even more importantly than that... What does this mean for fae??????
One could call "red flowers" just a poetic way for the pixies to label something they don't understand. But what's confusing is that there are clearly also fire pixies living in the forest; we see several of them in Vargas Camp attacking the students. It's not as though the fairies are unfamiliar with fire itself, so why not just call the campfires 'fires'?? What if... (and stick with me here) the pixies named the campfires thus because it's potentially a reference to something far deadlier (than even the forest fire) that they experienced or heard of in their history? In the time period of ~400 years ago shown to us in book 7, we learn that human invaders drove fae out of their homes and began mining their land for resources. This, more specifically, impacts the Briar Country up north, who are fighting against humans that arm themselves with iron (something which appears to repulse the fae). These humans are also known to use deceptive tactics, such as distracting the messenger team of Lilia and co. while they launch an assault on Mallenoa's castle, where she and her unborn son are. So... what's to say they wouldn't resort to other underhanded means as well? Mean such as... utilizing a flower known to suck out the magic from living beings :))) like maybe the... crimson lotus, perhaps?
In Glorious Masquerade, we learn that the crimson lotus has been extinct for a long time now. They were destroyed by humans centuries ago because of how dangerous they were to mages. We don't have an exact number of years, but "centuries" is enough to land it in the rough ballpark of the human-fae war. Malleus himself, who is canonically 178 years old, didn't even recognize the flowers at first (as very few records of them exist in modern times); this could imply that the crimson flowers were around before he was born, which further supports that they were present during the war era.
What's more, if we look at Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (ie the second live action Maleficent movie), we see a VERY strong parallel to the crimson lotus flower. In the film, we are introduced to the Tomb Bloom, a flower that just so happens to also be red and glows a little like fire.
UNCANNY RESEMBLANCE, NO? 🤡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tomb Blooms are said to grow on the graves of fairies, and, when mixed with iron, creates "red dust". This red dust is considered deadly to fairies upon contact--and in the film, a fairy-hating queen lures a bunch of fae into a wedding venue to eliminate them en masse with the stuff. The crimson lotus flowers of TWST, meanwhile, are deadly on their own, draining the magic out of any magical being they touch (and permanently depriving them of magic once all the magic has been taken out of someone). For fae, who rely on magic for basically everything (travel, cooking etc.), it would be a miserable existence symbolically synonymous with death.
(Side note: in hindsight, this somewhat explains why Malleus is part of the Glorious Masquerade SSR trio. If the crimson lotus flowers were, in actuality, inspired by the Tomb Blooms (something which was weaponized against Maleficent and her kind), then it just makes so much sense for the antagonist of the event, Rollo, to utilize similar plants against Malleus, who is twisted from the Mistress of Evil herself.)
OKAY, now knowing all of that, here's what I propose as a possible timeline of events if we consider all of what I just said: ~400 years ago, crimson lotuses were plentiful. When the human-fae conflict escalated, the human side decided to play dirty to eliminate those pesky fae--because even the great Draconias would be susceptible to the magic-leeching properties of the flower. However, they discovered, upon repeated experimentation, that the flower could also harm their own mages, so they had to reformulate. Maybe this was when they learned that they could combine iron with the powdered lotus (increased surface area, and therefore also increased potency) to create something even more deadly to fae (like in Maleficent 2). Alternatively, this could contribute for the reasoning for the iron armor they wear in battle; iron repulses fae, but it could also protect them from the crimson lotus flowers due to how much of the skin it covers. For example, the Dawn Knight is said to wear a helmet that completely cover the face, and many Silver Owl NPCs do the same. There is little skin visible, unlike the armor of the Briar Country fae. But anyway, the point is that, some way or another, the humans abused the crimson lotus during this time. Once the war concluded (or in the period of reconstruction that followed), fae and humans came to an agreement to destroy all the lotuses as a part of their peace treaty/negotiations, agreeing that it was mutually beneficial to all magical creatures and mages. Humans were mainly responsible for this extinction, as there was a larger population of them that were magicless and could therefore handle the flowers without consequences. Because of the war engulfing an entire continent, fae in other parts of Twisted Wonderland would have heard about the events, fae migrated out of Briar Country to get away from the conflict, OR the conflict itself was a Twisted Wonderland-wide issue, not just contained within Briar Country. Any one of these could explain why eventually pixies on Sage's Island, in the Silent Woods (where the boys went camping), would know of the calamity caused by the crimson lotuses of the past. When they come across wild campfires, the pixies may be frightened by them due to their resemblance to the crimson lotuses and the trauma associated with war because it's human outsiders that are invading their home and propagating these 'fires'... the same situation as the human-fae war. There was the literal manmade forest fire that was far more recent, yes--but again, this doesn't fully explain why the pixies, who should be familiar with fire, would call it a "red flower" instead of just 'fire'. The association with "red flowers" being dangerous may be a result of what they recall from the war--that crimson flower which sapped away their strength and robbed them of their magic. Then, in modern day, we have Rollo somehow stumbling across seeds and breeding crimson lotuses of his own in secret for his own nefarious purposes. History (mayhaps???) repeating itself??????? ?? ? ????? ??? ??
DKJNsfhbvoqef32ygtr69r137fbofasib IDK, MAYBE I'M JUST TALKING OUT OF MY ASS AND EXTRAPOLATING TOO MUCH FROM LITTLE DETAILS 🤡 I just think it's kind of a fun theory, even if the whole timeline ends up being thrown out the window in the next main story update... Don't mind me, I'm still on my "Rollo will come save us all in a cruel and ironic twist of fate" copium--

I saw some JP discourse this morning about Silver and Lilia that got me all worked up and I wanted to share it here (´∀`)
the OP was talking about the way Silver responded when Lilia took the hit for him at the end of chapter 4. Instead of being surprised that Lilia protected him like that, Silver was relieved. This whole chapter, Lilia hasn't been acting like the kind and goofy man that Silver grew up with. Silver himself said it's like he's an entirely different person. And when Lilia rushed over to save him, that was the Lilia that Silver knows and loves - someone who'd step in and protect him from danger, and who'd risk his life for him.
Lilia and Baul's past selves both comment on how Lilia would normally never do something like that, but the Lilia of today, the Lilia that Silver knows, he would.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based on Silver's reaction, and how it seems to imply that Lilia would probably often come rush over and protect Silver whenever he was in danger growing up, the OP muses that it almost feels like a reference to the live action Maleficent movies.
In the first movie, after cursing baby Aurora, Mal continues watching over her from the shadows, stepping in to protect her and help her whenever she was in trouble. Kind of like how Lilia said he stepped back and took a more hands off approach once he realized he was pushing Silver much to hard in his training, and he'd watch over him and Sebek from the shadows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In another part of the thread, OP talks about how when Silver and Malleus suddenly show up at Lilia's farewell party, Lilia is the the first one - and the only one - who notices that Silver had been crying. Everyone at that party should've been focusing on how strange Malleus was acting, but the first thing Lilia immediately honed in on was that his baby had been crying 😭
OP pointed out that in this small moment alone, you can tell how much Lilia cares about Silver and how much he worries about him - he just doesn't outright show it a lot of the time.

TWST – Villains are the heroes who have failed and fallen (spoilers)
Riddle is the Queen of Hearts, but also Alice. Both as children have faced a matriarch who imposes harsh and difficult rules to follow. The difference is that the latter fought back and the former did not and thus, had internalized all the unfair expectations of his mother and become like her.
Leona is like Simba during his self-imposed exile: putting a distance between their family and home to avoid confrontation due to some past “bad deed” supposedly done by their own hands (Leona’s unique magic -> Mufasa’s death) and contenting with lazing around. While Simba accepts to face the past and to carry the responsibilities entailed by kingly duties, Scar refuses to acknowledge his flaws and to become better.
Azul, while a twisted version of Ursula, shows similarities with Ariel. Both feel like they don’t fit in with other merfolks and possess a thirst for knowledge, notably concerning the surface world. Leona has destroyed all of the contracts he has spent years working on like King Triton has done with Ariel’s treasures which push both of them over the edge (overblot -> signing a contract with Ursula).
Jamil is Jafar, Genie, Aladdin AND Jasmine all in one. On the surface, Jamil appears to be similar to Jafar, but as the Scarabia arc progresses, the more we know that the core of his issue is his desire to be free (like Genie) and to rise from his low-class social status (like Aladdin). Kalim has a kind disposition, but some of his well-intentioned actions leave much to be desired when it concerns Jamil like the sultan (whom he is based after) who tries to set Jasmine up with a prince so that she can still be taken care of after his death even though it makes his daughter feel trapped in her own house. Jafar wants to be the strongest (freedom -> power) and, tricked by Aladdin, wishes to become a genie which ironically binds him to a space more restrictive than before (genie -> overblot; Jamil’s phantom might symbolize his true abilities which are limited by his country’s laws).
Vil’s problem is that he wants to be perceived as more than a villain (beautiful outside AND inside). The sad thing is that by trying so hard, he ironically appeared to be more and more villainous-looking (sabotage -> old woman disguise and attempted murder; it might explain his phantom). While taking charge during his stay in Ramshackle Dorm (a parallel to Snow White living with the dwarves), he lorded over the first years like how the Evil Queen did with Snow White at the beginning of the movie. (deeper analysis)
Idia is stuck in a position he doesn’t want. Hades, Hercules AND Meg also have the same problem. However, while the former tries to solve it by taking things from others, the latter two learn to see what really matters. In addition, Idia’s position is more like Hercules’s and Meg’s than Hades’. Like Hercules, he wanted to belong and believed being a hero would fulfill that wish; and just like Meg, he had developed a defeatist attitude due to a past loss that had deeply affected him (Ortho -> Meg’s ex-lover).
Malleus is isolated, sheltered and destined from birth to rule a kingdom like Aurora. His entourage at school consisted of only three people (Lilia, Silver and Sebek -> the three fairy godmothers) and his whole world changed after meeting a “stranger” (Yuu -> Phillip). If we follow the narrative of the movie, Malleus might become distraught at the idea of not seeing Yuu ever again which will leave him vulnerable to a fate others tried to protect him from (overblot -> spindle). I don’t know if they’ll put some references to Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent, but I can see the bitter resentment for taking away from them what they considered important to them (Yuu -> wing).
EDIT: one on Rollo Flamm

Today is not only Kansas Day - it's also the 65th anniversary of one of Disney's classic movies - Sleeping Beauty! Yes, Barbie isn't the only blonde beauty turning 65 this year lol. On Jan. 29, 1959, Sleeping Beauty was released. So I'll be sharing photos paying tribute to one of our classic Disney princesses. :)
Up first - the 65-year-old question: the pink dress or the blue dress? Which dress do you prefer? I like them both, so it's hard to pick a favorite lol
Tumblr media
Briar Rose on her sweet 16th:

Meeting Prince Phillip:
Tumblr media
"I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream."
Tumblr media
A crown to wear in grace and beauty:
Tumblr media
Aren't those little fairy dolls cute? I didn't realize they made them until about a year ago, and I found them in a big Sleeping Beauty gift set that included Aurora, Phillip, Maleficent, and Samson. I searched and found the fairies by themselves, but that price was almost as much as the entire gift set, so I got the latter lol. The fairies are vital characters in this movie!
From left: Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather:
Tumblr media
Did you have a favorite fairy? I loved Merriweather as a kid, and her chasing the crow always cracked me up!
"Touch the spindle. Touch it, I say!"
Tumblr media
Speaking of that spinning wheel, let's not forget that this movie gave us one of the most popular/iconic villains of all time - Maleficent. She has quite the fan base, even from before the live action version in 2014.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Happily ever after (dancing in the clouds with the dress changing colors):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fun Facts:
~ Aurora’s pink vs. blue dress debate in the movie was also a debate among the filmmakers. They decided to put their argument into the film.
~ Speaking of Aurora’s dress, despite the fact that she wears the blue dress the majority of the time, her doll form - along with promo images and other merchandise - is most often featured wearing the pink variant. This is speculated to be because when the storybook closes at the very end of the movie, the dress is pink (two of the three fairies are changing it from pink to blue during the final dance number), which made it “official.” There is also speculation that, since Cinderella had been released a few years prior, and she was also wearing a blue dress (and was blonde as well), Disney wanted Aurora to be different.
~ Aurora has the least lines of any Disney princess. She has a total of 18 in her entire movie. In fact, she speaks less than any other main character in a Disney film apart from the mute Dumbo.
~ Aurora’s prince, Phillip, was the first Disney prince to be given an official name (the two previous princes were both referred to as The Prince and/or Prince Charming).
~ Aurora was the last princess to be created before Walt Disney’s death. He passed away in 1966, 23 years before the next princess (which would be Ariel in 1989).

Interview with Composer Ozawa Takumi from the Twst Fanbook (pt 3/11)
Interviewer: Along with the main opening song, you are also in charge of the background music. Which did you create first?
Ozawa: I composed the background music first. The main theme that plays when the app is launched was the very first track I made. Since the song needs to invite the player to the magical world of villains, I kept the necessity of a dark atmosphere in mind. The track references both the live-action Disney movies 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Maleficent'.
Interviewer: It’s so exciting for Twst to have so many different songs as a part of its background music. How many are there in total?
Ozawa: I’m not exactly sure, but I know I have created about 95 different songs for the game. The number of rhythmic and event songs continues to grow. I don't know how many more I still need to make (laughs). I am happy to discover something new every time I work on a new song.

"What do you think?"
"...I think you're...very beautiful."
"I should hope so. And just who might you be? What are you doing here?"
x~x~x~x
Yay, Halloween is almost here! And my "movie character costume" for Carewyn and Jacob's aunt Pearl Cromwell is definitely a combo breaker. Although all of my other entries in this series have featured dressing my characters up as animated movie characters, I decided on a live action movie villain for Pearl -- specifically Mombi from one of my favorite underrated childhood movies, Return to Oz! (As a side, it was bloody impossible to find good quality still image references for this dress!! I had to simplify it quite a bit simply because I had so little to work with.)
Honestly, when it came to thinking of a costume for Pearl, I was kind of at a loss, in the beginning. Both Pearl and Claire are decidedly more subservient to Charles's will than even fellow Clan member Blaise is, considering that Claire is such a passive and ignorant character and Pearl follows him out of a misguided sense of honor -- so casting either of them as incredibly powerful, malevolent, self-focused Disney villains like Ursula or Maleficent seemed incredibly out-of-place. And yet even more "realistic" villains like Mother Gothel seemed more in-line with Blaise personality-wise, since Pearl's style of parenting tends to lean more on sternness and stoicism ("just suck it up and stop complaining," basically), rather than manipulation and feigned, cloying affection. Even Lady Tremaine, who I definitely eyed for a while, didn't come across as that great a match for Pearl, since she's never been the sort to want to social-climb through her children or otherwise, nor is she the sort to get any satisfaction from her subjugation and abuse of others, instead being much more the type to justify it as a necessary evil.
What really shifted gears in my head was finding a villain that looked more like Pearl, and Mombi immediately came to mind, since her original head has reddish curls just like how I imagine Pearl's, although quite a bit shorter and lighter in color. (Mombi's hair actually better resembles mine, funnily enough!!) And then yeah, I made the connection -- Mombi in Oz may be incredibly intimidating in her own way, but she's ultimately subservient to the real mastermind, the Nome King -- just as Pearl is subservient to the mastermind in her storyline, her father Charles. Mombi is perfectly willing to keep a child captive in a mirror on the Nome King's direction -- just as Pearl arguably keeps her own children, Arsen and Kain, inside the stifling Cromwell Manor because Charles is determined not to "lose" any other family members like he did Lane. And in the Real World, Mombi's non-magical counterpart -- Nurse Wilson -- is a very cold, stoic, oftentimes cruelly dutiful character who still betrays a tiny shred of humanity, since she does actually jump into a rushing river to try to rescue Dorothy at one point and looks genuinely distraught (maybe for the sake of her job, but also perhaps sincerely) when it looks like Dorothy is going to drown. This too is very "Pearl" to me: she can come across as heartless a lot of the time, but she isn't pure evil. Admittedly Pearl isn't as vain as Mombi by a long-shot, but hey, can't win 'em all.
I decided to base the head in Pearl's hands on her deceased mother Marilyn, just as a little shout-out to the rest of the Cromwell line. And well, that kind of macabre touch is very true to the film, that's for sure! Return to Oz overall is a movie I know a lot of people see as nightmare fuel, especially in comparison to MGM's The Wizard of Oz, which it tries to be a sequel to but doesn't match in tone at all. For me personally, though, I loved both films as a kid and I still do -- I like the MGM film for its music, dancing, and innocence, Return to Oz for its real sense of danger and darker, more book-accurate whimsy, and both for the unique and likable characters they created.
Coming very soon: our last two main Cromwell Clan members, Claire and Charles, to finish off these Halloween sketches for the year!

Ace is King Arthur Theory Part 2:
Okay with chapter 7 giving us new info and other things with the game. Know I would like to make this post before the year ends, as well as a predictions of what could happen in chapter seven, and put in more facts I noticed about Ace here. This isn’t spoiler free. So know that I am putting things in JP and that includes chapter 7 info. Not your cup of tea, then don’t read. For more info for part one if you see this post, then here is a link to the first part going into more detail of my theory of Ace being king Arthur: POST Not only that I am going to go in to details as well with Silver that could be telling as well, and so this might be a Ace/Silver combo theory.
Tumblr media
With that all said and done lets move on to the speculations and theory I have.
Ace’s brother: Annnnnnd here we go again with his brother. So in chapter 7 we find out about where the 4th years, are and it goes into Cater and Trey talking about what they want to do before they become 4 years themselves. Cater brings up, ‘‘Theme park management, and planning the shows and attractions.” To which Trey drops this, "Ace's brother also chose the same kind of company for his internship, and he got the job right away." and my mind went to this part in sword in the stone.
Tumblr media
Now that could be a huge stretch to connect Ace’s brother work to the training of Sir Key in the movie, but I wanted to share it none the less. Chapter Seven and the War: Okay I will admit I am shocked over this. But the fandom doesn’t really go into theories on the war in Twisted wonderland. Mostly because there isn’t a lot of facts about it. The go to ones that I see people think is, that is the humans and fea had a war, and that caused humans to fear the fea because of it. This is the main go to as well, due to people thinking it might be a reference to the the live action Maleficent movie as well, which fair. As well as in the star gazer event, where Lilia says this for his wish, “...For humans, fea, and other species to live in harmony.” Not only that but it seems twst makes some effort to referencing the life action movie, then any other life action movie. For proof there is no reference for, ‘Alice in wonderland 1-2, Aladdin, Lion King, and for a stretch. Not even one for the Cruella movie to connect to Crewel’. But the life action, Maleficent movie is another story. To my knowledge there is only one reference to the the movie, and people use this as the main reason as to why believe think this is solid evidence to being the case of this movie connecting to the war in Twst. In Lilia’s SSR Band club outfit you can see he has on the side of his shirt, ‘Mistress of all evil‘  which is connected to not only Maleficent, but is the full title of the life action movie. So people think this means something or something we should take note of. To try to see where they are coming from. I will submit and see where this takes me. So from here onward I will use the life action movie for some references to my own theory. So with that said I will say this. Since we know what we know about Lilia raising Silver, and being viewed as a family member. It dose relate to the life action movie as well, since that was not in the original at all. Maleficent was mad at baby and the family for not being invited to the baby’s party, cursed said baby, and the rest of the movie plays out. She never even interacts with the princess. The only time they are in the same room is when Aurora is asleep and that was only one time.
Tumblr media
Now on track with twst finally. If you take a step back you realize some things, that do not match up to the mind set of people believing, that the war happened, because of humans and fea not getting along. Lilia and Sebek are treated equal to everyone else, this fear is centered around mostly Malleus, because humans and most races other then fea fear him. Only on the soul fact of how strong he is and his grandmother. That’s it. So now let me ask these two questions that I think might be connected to each other. Why did the war started? and Who is the king/ruler of humans? Think about the second question for the moment. We know that in chapter 3 the merfolk have a king and a prince named, prince Rielle, who is twst version of Ariel, In chapter 2 we also know that the beastmen also have a future king named, Cheka, and a prince known as Leona, but what do the humans have? Now this is something we do not know or really asked in the fandom. Do not get me wrong I do see theories on it who it might be, but all of them point at Silver being the rightful heir to the humans, and to me it leaves into this question. If true, then what is the proof of that? Well with Silver we see moment in his vignettes and one SR card robe’s card that he is very Aurora like. With animals being around him easily, him sleeping beautifully, as well as him sleeping in odd times in both the game and manga, which funny and oddly enough connects to him having Narcolepsy. If you don’t know it’s just a rare condition that causes people to sleeping at in inappropriate times, which can not be controlled. There is also more connections to this in chapter 7 he had a ring as a baby that was of the design of Aurora’s crown. Not only that but he lived in the woods with Lilia, a fea/fairy who raised him for most of his life. Which people connect Silver being looked after Lilia, because of said war with the humans. So that is some solid info it’s Silver right? I mean it lines up, but now the question of. “Why the war started“ and, “Why did Lilia raise him?” Okay, remember me saying I am going to talk about more theories on Ace being king Arthur at the start of the post? Well I am doing it now and guess what? I believe the war is mostly in parallel to the sword and the stone. In the opening of the movie you are sung a song of what is going on in the movie: ‘A legend is sung of when England was young, and knights where brave and bold! The good king had died. And no one could decide. Who was rightful heir to the thrown. It seems that the land would be torn by war or saved by a miracle alone! and that miracle appeared in London town. The sword in the stone. It’s the only Disney movie I can recall, where a war is shared with you, that happened, and the movie wants you to take note of why why everyone is training to be king. Yet again you are also right with the Maleficent life action one as well, since there is a war with humans and fea, with the fea protecting there land from the humans. Not only that, but as I was looking at the live action movie again I found this. Well would you look at that! The same flags for battle shown in the sword and the stone are also in the life action Maleficent movie, which is also the thing I pointed to Ace’s birthday card being. Funny how that is something noticed.
Tumblr media
“No one could decide who was rightful heir to the thrown. It seems that the land would be torn by war.” Now I think is might mean something to connect to what really happened. What if the rightful ruler to the humans died with no heir, and the humans fought for who was rightful king? Which would explain why we are not told about the war fully, because of how complex those fighting for there own reasons, and the possibility of some of these factions of the people supporting these people are? Not only that what if Silver’s family fell in the war leaving only him, and Lilia took the role to watch him and raise him to be king, Which holy hell that’s a lot to unpack right there. Cause that could mean it wasn’t just fea and humans fighting it could be beastmen and merfolk to right for these two factions? Since that’s too much even for me. let’s take a step back, and go to the next point. Lilia’s Weapon: Now the other thing I want to bring up is what we found out about Lilia’s weapon. We are told it’s his war weapon, which during battle he was so fearless no one wanted to go near him. And honestly if I saw a guy cutting people up with a CLEAVER! I wouldn’t mess with that guy either. Now on Lilia’s weapon again we are also told, that depending on who is holding it, the weapon will change based on said person. Thing is I want to point out how odd that his weapon has rose thorns around it. Now you could say, “But it’s in line to sleeping beauty’s tower and Maleficent in theme“, which sure. But there is no famous weapon in disney that looks like a green Cleaver. Sure it could relate to Lilia’s connection to one of the gargoyles in the original sleeping beauty movie, but I think there is more to it then that.
Tumblr media
But let’s recap to what we know about the weapon. -It’s Lilia’s war weapon. -It changes it’s looks depending on who is holding it Let’s focus on the second one real quick. So that means it could look like anything to reflect that person, right? So if that is the case then it can look like a dagger, sword, hell maybe even a frying pan? It all depends on the person right? So it’s a endless thought of possibilities on what it could be. With this train of thought it lead me to remembering something else, but before I get into that let me share this fact with you. A sad fact at that. Lilia is shown and even tells you his memory is not as good as it used to be. He knows about 500 years or so, but adds a “More or less” meaning it’s spotty. Not only that but he misplaces or loses things a lot if you pay attention to some of his dialog. Now to my next point, if this can change into anything, then could it be really a sword, and it shows it true form by the thorns around it gone? Even the one who once fought with it has forgotten it’s true purpose, but knows maybe Silver should hold it. After all with Lilia getting help from Silver and Sebek packing his stuff he put it in a place they could easily find the weapon and Silver’s ring. So what if this a weapon that has been forgotten through time, and the real weapon is by the true welder? Then is it possible, that true welder is someone who is worthy of being king? We have such Disney sword. This one, Excalibur. A sword forgotten through time, and who ever pulls the sword from the stone is king. And Lilia’s weapon is a sword made out of emerald. Now what if the emerald is the stone trapping the true weapon is finally shown when the rightful king or welder is finally given to it? Also both Excalibur and Lilia’s weapons have plant life around it as well. With that out of the way the last thing we must talk about is Silver and how this weapon could relate to him or what it could mean in chapter 7.
Tumblr media
Silver Is royalty and what it could mean with the Ace Theory: With Silver’s connection to Aurora with the necklace looking like Aurora’s crown, and in one vignettes Silver tells Epel there are rules to making a good prince that he learned from Lilia. As well as other things I pointed out, that could connect to Silver being royalty, and him being the rightful ruler for the humans. Here is the thing I failed to mention. People have said that, since he is Aurora other people have also said he could be prince Philip. And the weapon could play into him maybe killing Malleus. Sorry to say I am not one of those people who believe in this mostly because Silver is not Maleficence weakness in the life action movie, It’s IRON. So I believe this is a red herring. But I do believe that this weapon is going to play out in a big way. Yes, I do think Silver is going to hold the weapon and it will be like the sword of truth, which we know Yuu/the player will have a dream about. Thing is it’s also going to connect to really it being the sword and the stone, and I bet you are wondering what I mean by that. Well...Let me bring up something very very crazy. I know there are people who do not believe my theory of Ace being twst King Arthur, and that has to do with this idea, “They already had the dorms in the game, and no way they are going to add a new one or any other reference’s to something that has not happened.” Well...No you are wrong or you forgot slash didn’t know this fact at the time. To remind you all, but remember chapter 5 where we see Royal Sword Academy after Epel and Deuce have that scream off? If you look at the center of the place you see a sword. A sword in a stone! Not only that, but the headmaster is Merlin. So there was always connections to the movie. So with these facts what could this mean?
Tumblr media
I think we are finally going to find out who Ace really is and him coming to NRC was to get the weapon to be king finally. Now what do I mean by that. Well let’s go over some things. -Looking back on Ace’s second birthday card you notice, that roses are around his name. The other dorm student’s do not have any roses, and Riddle’s card only has one rose and that’s for the I. Now this is very weird when you know Cater was the one who was painting roses, and I could be wrong, but Ace only talks about tending to the flamingos and hedgehogs, and never painting roses. To add to this we know that Ace only painted the roses just so Cater can do a solid for him to get Riddle’s lock off his neck. That’s it. Him painting the roses red was not a punishment given to him by Riddle. It was just Ace painting the roses to make Cater talk to Riddle on his behalf. Nothing more then that. So because of this I am wondering if it wasn’t to connect to ‘painting the roses red’ but was really a hint Ace trying to find the weapon. Roses being around his name, while rose thorns are around the weapon. - The war might have started by some human’s right to be king, then those families might have been connected to Silver and Maybe Ace’s family. (To clear this up not saying they are brothers.) -Silver is adopted by a fea after his family failed to win the war, as well as to protect him. He also grew up not knowing he is royalty while he lives with Lilia, and NRC not knowing of his past and silver happy being with his father, Lilia. -So where dose that leave Ace wanting to be king? Well...There is some prove to it, that I never brought up in my first post. Remember how odd it was in chapter 1, where Ace was so hyped to overthrow Riddle to be dorm Queen? I could be wrong, but I think he said he wanted to be king. Not only that, but in his SSR dorm card he says, “You think I can overthrow Riddle now? I am joking of course.” when you level him up. Even in the manga he wants to be dorm head to be Queen. Now I can understand when other thought it was just him wanting to rule over Riddle and get him to say sorry. As well as him wanting to get Riddle’s dorm title not being brought up again. It dose seem that way, but this could have been a early hint of his connection to a king in Disney. And the only one from the classic Disney era I can think of with it being the main character being really a king is Arthur. Which if true do you know what this means? I didn’t say this at the time, but there is so much more possibilities that could connect to what is to come or could happen. -If Ace is King Arthur dose that mean, “Ace“ is not his real name, because in sword in the stone Arthur was mostly called, Wort until he was crowned king. -Is he connected to RSA, and if so dose he know Merlin? -If that is the case, then could it be possible that Merlin is connected to him or might even be related to him? -If so then my theory about Madam Mim being his grandma means she could be Married to Merlin 63. (Ship is canon in twst if true) -Lastly as much as I don’t want to say this, but with all this could it really be that Ace really is the traitor, but we looked at it the wrong way? Ace...Could be the Traitor: Edit: I got rid of the original words here, since it’s too out there and I don’t believe it I want to clear it up on Ace being the Traitor theory. Now I do not believe him being a traitor is him being evil. I feel this more then likely happened. He was told to go to NRC by his family, since they have been working for years to find the king’s sword, which Lilia has. Ace gets in NRC, has to hide his Unique Magic/identity so Lilia or anyone in Malleus’s circle would not know who Ace really is, and try to get close to them to find weapon, and when there is a opening he takes weapon to be king. That’s what I believe. The other idea is that he is a traitor in a sense of really being a RSA student. Why? Well we are shown that everyone in RSA is nice. Like...SUPER NICE. Even when fans are like, “No they are really evil guys! Watch!“ Only for chapter 5-6 to be like, “No. They are sweet beans and don’t you feel silly for thinking that way?“ So with me pointing out in my Crowley post about how the school is low on funds, and Crowley has been doing a lot to make sure no knows, but it’s clear something is not right with how Crowley is with money. Now what if, as crazy as this sounds, what if RSA wants to combined the schools? To help them out? I know that’s very out there, but we know how well off that school is doing compared to NRC. And I can so see Merlin and some students from both sides not wanting NRC to shut down. So a merger needs to happen, and Ace was sent to see how Merlin could make this happen. Because you and I both know Crowley is so prideful he would never ever accept help from RSA no matter what. Yet again these are just ideas I believe in mostly rather then Ace being fully evil to try to kill Silver for the sword or to betray Yuu and Grim. Like I know Ace is shady as heck, but he is not evil. He is just a trickster, and good for him for thinking ahead. Edit: Now I am adding this in cause I have forgotten to, but I realized this. That being why would Ace’s family and Silver’s fight for the right to be king and be the main rulers of the humans? Well if Ace is King Arthur, then he is English in origins. As for Silver’s connection being Aurora and Sleeping Beauty as a whole, then fun fact that means he is French in origins. So a French family and a English one fighting for the right to rule said people, that just makes too much since with our own world’s history. I know it’s Twst and different a bit to our world, but once this thought went into my mind I had to share it. Listen, I will admit on the possibility that I could be very wrong in all this. There is still a lot we do not know and we do not know where the story is taking us, but if I am right....Then that means if Ace is King Arthur, then we have a character who hid there real identity with wind magic or has a wind theme to them. Now if I had a nickle for every time this happened, I’d have two nickles. Which isn’t a lot, but odd it happened twice. and so I am going to end this post with some lyrics from the video game, Sonic and the black knight. Song being Knight of the wind.
Tumblr media
Hey all (hey all) Welcome to the greatest storm I know (I know) You have waited much too long And I (and I) I will be your shining star I'm here (I'm here) Here to conquer near and far! Like a sword, I'm drawn Into the heat of day Like a knight, I'll fight Until the fight is won In the reign, I slay Each and every, each and every Each and every one Till this war is won And I live to rule By the sword Slashing through the every inch of the power The power in you As I sit and I stand By the table I command My kingdom I’m the knight of the wind  Edit: (Making this edit at 2/22/24) Spoilers from chapter 7 BTW. Future me here for a MEGA OUT THERE theory. So to go more into them fighting for king. You know what I find like super weird? How the RSA logo has two horses, and I was wondering what that could have to do with anything. If you look at the logo it’s two horses and one sword, and on top of the sword is a crown and we know it to mean Excalibur. I saw a lot of people using this as a reason for why RSA had such nice students. They help each other out by supporting each other. But...What if this logo has a future meaning? If Ace and Silver are going to fight for king like I theorized, then why do the horses look the same? Shouldn’t they look different to perfectly show that these two different people with different families are going to fight? Well...I have to swallow a HUGE hard pill that I never wanted to swallow...But I think Silver and Ace might be related. Due to future events in chapter 7 in Lilia’s memories.  We find out that Silver’s mom ran away once the castle was falling and had to leave Silver behind under the protection of some fairies, that will keep him as a baby for 100 years if need be to make sure he survives. And Lilia found Silver when going back to the castle all those years later, and the rest is history. We do not know what happened to Silver’s mom other then she ran away to safety, but what if she found love again and remarried, and her bloodline still lives on...In Ace. If true then that would explain why the horses look alike as if it was a mirror. Silver is Aces Idk how many greats family member, and both have no idea about this. The main reason i didn’t want to believe it was because Silver is mostly based on Aurora from a French tale, and Ace, if I am right, Ace is based on King Arthur a English tale. And saying a french man and a English man are related just seemed really out there for me, then yet again a french man and a English man fighting for right to be king makes TOO MUCH SENSE TO ME. Also I have seen people say Ace might be Alice form Alice in wonderland, and I failed to make a theory explaining a possibility of him being the true main character...And both Alice and Aurora have blonde hair...You  know what I am going to stop now. If I am going to do any more edits I will make a maga post about these two or Ace from here on out. Let’s see how wrong I am in the future or not. Until then. See you next chapter update in TWST.

ooh this is interesting, because the name leia reminds me of how aurora’s mother in the original sleeping beauty was given the name leah, but then in the live action maleficent movie her name was changed to leila... there was also a king henry who was invented exclusively for the maleficent movie, and leila was his daughter. i wonder if this is meant specifically as a reference to that, both because of the similarities in names and since in maleficent henry was a ruthless king who tried to take over the fairies’ land.

Sleeping Beauty AU for my birthday? Sleeping Beauty AU for my birthday.
RIGHT off the bat, I wanna say this set's a mess and it was supposed to have more sketches in it (I REALLY wanted to draw LeFou fighting a dragon) but uhhhh .....*vague hand gestures* Emotional Issues. Will they come one day? Yeah probably. Until then...please enjoy what I managed to pull together.
1-2.)
''She's your daughter. You can't do this to her.''
''Yes I can. I'm her mother.''
First up, we got a test sketcj of Abanny as Maleficent, and a spooky-wooky headshot. Abanny was almost entirely inspired by Angelina Jolie in the live action Maleficent movie, so I could think of NO better role for her to play in this AU than the one she was made for.
Nicole was supposed to be raised by Abanny as well as her two fathers in a sort of big joint adoption found family thing. But they couldn't really get past Abanny's whole Matriarchal forest demigod who eats people thing as something they wanted their daughter around. So they kind of...booted Abanny from the group chat, let's say. Abanny's fury at being banned from having a part in her daughter's life MIGHT'VE been understandable....until Abanny decided ''Fine if I can't be a part of her life then she can't be a part of anyone else's'' and doomed her daughter to a sinister prophecy out of anger. That's the fun thing about Abanny. I can imagine her doing horrible destructive stuff to Nicole out of spite and it's not even that out of character (Any Incredibles AU fans in the audience?)
3.) ''...And a few....carrots?''
Yeah HI if this one looks funky dunky it's because it isssss *checks dates* JUST about a year old now!! This was the first Sleeping Beauty AU sketch and it has seen everything (Fnaf reference) and then I just kept thinking about this concept and that's where the rest of this stuff came from. I MEANT to rewdraw this one but uhhhh .....*vague hand gestures* Emotional Issues.
LeFou's horse is named Pompeii btw!!!! She's been a character of mine for a while, but I haven't REALLY used her for much since about 2015. Figured she deserved to be re-homed for this AU. If she looks familiar it's because yes I came up with her after watching Frozen.
4.) ''Once Upon a Time Dream''
Yes yes, you've all seen me post this one before, and Im being a hack by reposting it here and deleting it from the original photoset, but in my defense it goes with the rest of the set.
''He's wearing a totally different outfit than in the previous sketch and that doesn't make sense-'' Whoa mama mia cunt
5.) ''...When true loves kiss...''
If LeFou looks a little rough, he DID just plow through a forest of thorns to fight a dragon who also happens to be his incredibly bitter mother in law. Also battle damage is hot fight me.
6.)
Now that you're lovin me
It's so heavenly
Based on that final frame from the movie, but with like....one or two very small personal touches (Sarcasm)
...Anyway I'm tired but hey it's my birthday I made it through another year and even better I drew a lot more stuff so it's not all bad.

Who would be best dad(or dads) in Descendants and why you'd think so?
First of all, belated Happy New Year. I know you sent the question back at the end of December but I needed time to answer because there are a lot of characters and things to take into account.
I’d start to say that I don’t consider the live-action movies too much, but there are things in those that could help us better understand/extend the perception of the characters. King Beast, for instance, could have fallen victim of his past when raising Ben, if his father was like depicted in the L-A movie, Adam had no good father figure to reference and inevitably fell into his own father’s patterns from time to time (but Descendants is still guilty of character assassination for both him and Belle, they are very much not how I’d imagine them being as parents). Kit, on the contrary, can’t possibly be how Chad’s father must be read of, because Kit had an excellent father of his own and I don’t think he’d stray too much from that line. Philip... well, Queen Ingrith was a terrible person in the Maleficent 2 movie while his father was pretty much a doormat but, really, the Maleficent movies have nothing to do with Descendants (aside from the obvious, Leah is very much dead in those, isn’t she?) so that surely doesn’t count. I can’t even remember the Mulan L-A so that doesn’t count either.
So I mostly stick to the canon from the cartoons.
That’s long.
That said, I’d start: none of the royals would win the “best dad” award. Not out of a malicious intent or character traits (I mean, what exactly do we know of Snow White’s prince? Not even his name! So how could I estabilish what kind of father could he be?) but simply because they would be too busy to be actively in their kids’ lives. Ruling is lousy, busy and a full time job with no real free time, I don’t think Philip, Henry-Christophe, Frederick (Cinderella and Snow’s princes respectively) and Eric would have much time to spend with their kids, although we can argue we saw Eric being a father in TLM2 and he isn’t too bad, save for a few understandable mistakes. In fact, I guess Eric may be the best father of this group.
Naveen, as he was disowned before the movie and ended up working with Tiana to make a living, could have had a better chance to be a parent and with all the growth he underwent, plus with Tiana telling him stories of her own father, he’d be a rather good one.
About the ones married into royalty like Aladdin and Eugene, they must have had to strive to keep a standard and aid their wives in their ruling, which would leave little chance to parent well, althought they, as orphans, would try a lot harder to be present for their kids than the born-royals would, but could also make more mistakes since they had no example to follow as they grew up. Yao, Ling and Chien Po would be in a similar predicament, but there are three of them married to sisters so it’s possible they would have time to be fathers by alternating duties so they’d handle it better. A case aside is Kristoff because we know Anna and Elsa’s parents did raise their daughters personally, so it’s possible Arendelle is low maintainance as a kingdom and/or Anna would and could handle things on her own with Elsa’s help, so Kristoff could be a dad as much as he’d like and I think he’d be the awkward, weird dad his kids love and are embarrassed of at the same time, a good kind anyway.
I think it’s pretty much estabilished Shang would be a good enough parent, both because he used to have a great relationship with his own dad, and because he’d have Mulan and her whole family with him, and simply because Lonnie and Li’l Shang (I hate those names, but that’s another matter) seem very good kids, as well-adjusted as AKs could be.
Phoebus is a good dad by canon, this is inconfutable. Quasimodo would try his best, especially because he’d try to be the opposite of his own father-figure, provided Madeleine wasn’t sent to the Isle for her past as a thief, otherwise I don’t think he’d have children at all, he’d be too heartbroken by losing love twice to try again (here, I made myself sad, sorry).
The Genie would be great too! Jordan seems pretty well-adjusted and if we also believe in the theory Coach Jenkins is actually the Genie, hey, we know he gives great life advice to kids. In fact, I think he’d win for Best Dad, hands down.
You know who’d be a fun dad? Lumière! Not sure if in the top 3, but a good one for sure. I think all the dwarves would be good fathers too, they are good people and would care a lot for sure.
Roger would be a rather normal father, super busy with all those dogs, sure, but he’d have plenty of bonding time with his kid/s, teaching them to sing and play different instruments, anything about dog care, he’s a funny man with lots of good traits, I see no reason for him not to be a good dad.
Hercules... oh, dear, here comes my mythology knowledge, and he was a dreadful father in the myths. Aside from the fact he killed his kids and his first wife (but that was because of a godly curse), he isn’t shown to ever interact with his other progeny, actively abandoning them when he ascended to Olympus and married Hebe. BUUUT! This is the Disney version we’re talking about, and this Hercules had two very great set of parents, the biological and adoptive, so he must have learned a lot from both Amphitryon and Zeus. Let’s just say a good enough one. (we do ignore the name Herkie for his son, yes? I have totally to put myself to finish writing that post about the real names of the Desc Kids).
Still about myths, Arthur is a wild card, either we ignore the arthurian lore in its entirety, say he married a regular girl and he balanced between being a king and a good enough dad, or we go down the rabbit hole so he’s a cheated-on bitter man who is unsure whose child he’s raising, his or Lancelot’s, or even pull in the whole Mordred affair, but that’s very much too dark for Disney. A balance could be he had an amicable divorce with Gwenevere, Artie (yes, a stupid name again) is far too similar to him to have doubts so he’s fine, but they have a bit of a strained relationship because Artie doesn’t really know why his parents split up and Arthur refuses to speak about it. In fact, due to the divorce, Artie was raised more by Merlin than by his own parents.
Uuuh, who’s left? There are so many characters! Well, let’s say for the good guys I’ve said enough.
About the Villains, though...
Facilier is canonically one very good dad, no one will be able to take that out of my head. In fact, I suspect he may be the best father of the Isle of the Lost.
Smee seems like a loving dad, at the very least. I also headcanon he helped a lot in raising Harriet, Harry and CJ and they see him as the good uncle who will help them as much as he can, with the only exception of putting himself against Captain Hook (but he’d still try to placate his rage fits, and the Hook children know this very well).
In this regard, I think all the ones who fall in the minions category (Le Fou, Smee, Jasper and Horace,...) could be decent enough dads. With this I mean: normal parents, with ups and downs, who try to provide for their kids and teach them stuff, although they may not be good enough to be defined excellent. About the same could be said of the “minor offenders“, so the ones who committed not incredibly nefarious crimes, usually that kind of people aren’t that bad with their own.
Okay, this was long enough.
To sum up, I’d say my top 3 is:
Genie
Facilier
Shang and Phoebus (on par)
Plus, honorable mentions for Roger, Smee and Eric.

Levan aka Papa Draconia: Dragon, Long, or Raven?
Tumblr media
So I rewatching from clips from the live-action Maleficent movie, and I was SHOOK at this scene. When Maleficent was trapped underneath the iron chains, Diaval (known as Diablo the Raven in the og Sleeping Beauty) was flying around in his Raven form to try and help her.
But Maleficent waves her hand, and says “turn into a dragon.” The dragon form in Sleeping Beauty was now given to Diaval, NOT Maleficent. Maleficent in the live-action film does have a habit of turning Diaval into different forms: first he was a raven, then a human, then a wolf, and then a dragon.
This is very interesting to me because the TWST fandom does seem to be a little divided on what type of Fae Levan is. Levan/Revan sounds a lot like “Raven,” and if he’s married to Meleanor, who represents Maleficent, it makes sense that Levan would represent “Diablo,” Maleficent’s loyal companion.
Tumblr media
However, the confusion lies in Levan’s official title: Ryūgan Duke Levan, or 竜眼公レヴァーン. It roughly translates to “Dragon-Eyed Duke,” or more specifically, “Long-eyed Duke.” If you remember from the first Halloween event, Malleus makes it rather clear that the Chinese Long is different from a dragon
Tumblr media
This title gave maybe people the impression that Levan is NOT a Raven Fae, but a Dragon Fae like the rest of the Draconia family. However, others say that it could just be a title representative of Levan’s connection to the Draconia family. Lilia even refers to Levan as “Meleanor’s eyes, limbs, and husband,” just like how Maleficent in the live action says she needs Diaval “to be her wings.”
Tumblr media
I personally lean towards the idea that Levan is a Raven Fae, but this Maleficent scene intrigued me. Shape-shifting magic seems to be very looked down upon in modern Twisted Wonderland society. Jack Howl has a very rare type of Unique Magic that can transform him into a wolf, implying that this is not a regular power of Beastman, Merfolk, or Humans.
Fae, however, do have some forms of shape shifting magic. Perhaps the negative views of shapeshifting magic in modern TWST society is another indicator of the prejudice society had against Fae.
Tumblr media
Y’all know I had to bring CROWLEY into this 💞💞💞💞💞🐦‍⬛ But remember in the prologue, Crowley literally just has a transformation potion on him, which transformed him into a ghost. It’s mentioned several times throughout the main story that shapeshifting potions are illegal under less prescribed under very specific circumstances, and Azul and Riddle went even more into detail about this in Book 6. It’s seems like no surprise that Crowley would be doing something illegal yet again, but why shapeshifting specifically?
Tumblr media
So what if Levan, a Raven Fae, found a way to shapeshift into different forms other than a raven in battle? Levan is one of the top generals in all of Briar Valley, after all. It would be even more interesting if he’s referred to as a “dragon” in his title this way…perhaps he was well known for shapeshifting and utilizing different forms to defeat enemies. Riddle mentions how potentially dangerous the major physiological changes can be…so if Levan really does shapeshift in battle…that’s incredibly impressive.
This seems like case closed, right?
Tumblr media
BUT THEN THIS ONE THROWAWAY LINE FROM MALLEUS CHANGES EVERYTHING
“Technically, longs wouldn’t be categorized as Fae.”
HM???
Again, Levan is referred to as the “Long-Eyed Duke.” The Chinese characters heavily imply that he has some type of relation to the long.
But the long can’t even be categorized as a Fae?? What are they categorized as then? Monsters????
It’s very interesting. Either this line supports the idea that Levan can shapeshift into a long (but isn’t a long himself) or, Levan isn’t even a Fae at all, and is merely blending in with Fae society.
ANXHXHHSS MALLEUS I THOUGHT I CRACKED THE CASE BUT NOW THERES MORE POSSIBILITIES 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

For the weirdly specific ask game! 7, 16 and 20. 🩵 Gotta ask the important questions.
Hi Steph! Thanks for the ask, love! 🤍
7. what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?
honestly, I don't go to the Aquarium a lot. Last time I went I took the kids I'm babysitting. They youngest is 4 and has a speech impediment, so he pronounces his "f"s as "s"s. so he just walked around the aquarium going "siiiiiiiish!!". Also after about 5 minutes the elevator was more interesting than the sish. so. that's all I can really tell you about that, my only memory of aquariums is tiny kids yelling while riding the elevator (but in the cute way)
16. thoughts on mint chocolate chip?
from TV Shows I've learned that this likely refers to ice cream. I'd like to inform you that that does not exist here, so I can't tell you. I can tell you that I despise After Eight (which is chocolate with mint).
20. favorite disney princess movie?
Okay, so I looked it up, and the live action Maleficent is (sorta) counted as a Disney Princess Movie, so the second live action Maleficent. It was incredible.
this was a lot of fun, friend! thanks again! 🤍🤍

Sorry, but Maleficent and Aurora is less incest and more so grooming. Maleficent raised Aurora her entire life, she’s the reason Aurora HAS that curse. I can somewhat understand the incest theme, but it’s far more related to grooming than it is mother and daughter incest.
LO was more refering to the live actions movies where Maleficent did raised aurora and she's treated like her actual mother in the sequel. i'm sure that alone was something that attracted LO a lot.
