tip tuesday: the flyfish (and how to krill them!)
Tumblr media
an overview on the flyfish:
the flyfish is one of, if not, the most hated boss salmonids in the salmon run salmonpedia. this flying smallfry shoots out a total of eight tentamissiles across the map. their armor is impervious to ink and so, must be taken out by the use of bombs chucked into their missile launchers.
method one: the casual (bombs)
the usual method is to obviously chuck bombs at the launchers. be careful as to not get too close or too far away, and get to a high inkable area as to avoid the hordes of salmon by the shoreline. throw your first bomb into the right launcher first, as that launcher directs the person in front of it (or the person closest to it.) refuel and launch the other bomb at the remaining launcher. it can be soloed in one go, but it's better to do it with teammates.
method two: weaponry
certain weapons can help with taking out flyfish faster:
explosher: acts the same as bombs. fire the explosher at the launchers to instantly take them out. repeat the same steps of preparation as the first method for the best results.
grizzco splatana: charge up your weapon to cut through any type of surface. you have to aim upwards and move forward towards the flyfish in order to reach the salmonid inside. you need to fend off salmon and also avoid the sludge water, as the splatana isn't easy to stop.
grizzco slosher: the slosher can penetrate any surface with its slosh. fire at the pilot once to krill the flyfish, but save the other three for salmon population control.
method three: specials
the specials are efficient in krilling most bosses, however they are limited to two a round (excluding the one refill in the xtra rounds) and some don't penetrate the forces.
the specials that can krill flyfish: inkjet, crabtank (both need to be used as explosher), triple inkstrike, kraken (to an extent), triple splashdown(?), killer wail 5.1, booyah bomb
the specials that dont: wave breaker, reefslider
method four: cohock sweep*
cohock rounds are by far the easiest way to take out any type of salmonid, but be careful. you can't dodge missiles while within the cannon. if you aim in the middle of the launchers, you can take out both of them at the same time with one shot. if not, then just aim for one at a time. if you get targeted, run away from the launcher and maybe get some eggs in before going back and manning the launcher.
method five: salmonid treason
flyfish can be killed with other salmonids, although its very rare to do so. one method is to make a slamming lid crash on top of the flyfish by either baiting the slamming lid or splatting the slamming lid. another method is to use good ol' joe and make him eat the flyfish by baiting him near the flyfish. however, you also need to lure the slamming lid close to the flyfish and not get splat by the jets of the flyfish or any other salmonid.
extra tips:
to find a flyfish in the fog, follow where the arrows come from when you're targeted. if you're not targeted, follow the opposite of where the missiles launch are coming from.
to avoid flyfish missiles, hide under grates and other objects. if you can't find a place to hide, swim and dodge the missiles.
each missile reload takes five to seven seconds, depending on if they need to relocate the machine or not to get away from you. mostly they just hover in one place.
with multiple flyfish on the loose, it is recommended to use a killer wail 5.1 special to get rid of all the missiles. you need to get to at least the third round in order to not lose any points.

#TipTuesday we have three things I recommend doing before applying your own makeup at home 😉
• • • • •
1) WASH YOUR FACE
Removes any dirt and/or oil from your skin so it doesn't get trapped underneath the makeup. You always want a clean canvas to work on because the makeup will sit smoother, plus it will decrease the chances of having a breakout.
2) WASH YOUR HANDS
Removes any residue or particles so your makeup collection doesn't get contaminated with food, pet hair, etc. Makeup has an expiration date, and we don't want to make it spoil any faster.
3) WASH YOUR SPONGE
Removes the previous day's makeup and any particles it may have collected overnight. When properly and routinely cleaned, these are perfectly sanitary to reuse on yourself. And unlike a brush there's no dry time, since they are best used wet.

The biggest enemy of meeting deadlines isn't laziness. It's the false belief that badly drawn bits aren't allowed. Wanna draw everything perfectly? Then be a cover artist. Spend days on one image. Wanna tell a story? Then make friends with ERROR. The best comics storytellers aren't best because they always draw perfect, but because they get into a flow, and roll right along, face forward.

I wanted to do something a bit different this tgirl tummy Tuesday. So here's some sexy and informative stuff!
A lot of people tell me something like "how the fuck do you boymode?". My response is usually some combination of A, the parts of my face I hide are very masculine, and B, people are primed to see me as masc in day to day life so just don't think about it much.
And those are true, to an extent. But boymode vs girlmode is a bit more than clothes, and I wanted to do a video that can show that a bit. And hey, why not have a little fun and show off a little tummy with it?
There's a lot more I could be doing for the girlmode here. This is no makeup, still wearing a very compressive sports bra, and I didn't even adjust how I'm wearing my pants or the tightness. It's also not the most femme of outfits, just a woman's cut tank top. I could also do an actually femme looking ponytail that hides the hairline better- all ponytails in this post look pretty masculine, though. But I think this still shows the contrast pretty well.
The hairline does a lot of work here, but it's less than you think. Mostly, that's just a "primer" to get you to read the rest of me as more masc or femme overall.
If you're curious, here's some other pictures of each factor individually:

Hopefully this was fun, and gave a little insight into my boymoding! Hopefully I won't have to deal with this in a couple months.
@lilithtransrights @xenasaur @godless-of-the-hunt , how was my analysis here?

#8 Play With POV Like a Pro 👀
Point of View (POV) isn’t just a technical choice. It’s a storytelling weapon. We often default to 1st person or close 3rd, but POV can shape everything from tone to pacing to theme.
Here are some underrated and interesting ways to use it:
2nd Person POV: Perfect for emotional punches or surreal narratives. Try it for dream sequences, dissociation, or deeply personal reflections.
💬“You don’t remember when the fear started. You only know it lives in your bones now.”
Shifting 1st Person: Write multiple characters in 1st person, giving each a distinct voice. It's risky but can create intense contrast and reveal bias or misunderstanding. Think unreliable narrators in conversation.
💬 Chapter 1: Arya: I knew she was lying. Her smile was too perfect, too rehearsed. I’ve seen that look a hundred times.
💬Chapter 2: Sansa: She looked at me like I was some kind of villain. I was just trying to hold it together, to seem okay.
Distant 3rd Person (omniscient): A “god’s-eye” view can create irony, commentary, or storytelling playfulness. Useful in genre fiction (especially fantasy) or for generational sagas.
💬 Everyone in the village believed the storm was just a freak of nature, but only the old cat under the baker’s porch knew the truth. It was an omen.
Objective 3rd Person (camera lens): No internal thoughts, only what can be seen or heard. Forces you to show, not tell, and often results in powerful subtext.
💬 She opened the cupboard, hesitated, and closed it again. A plate slipped from the counter and shattered on the floor, but she didn’t flinch. In the next room, the clock ticked steadily. He sat on the couch, eyes fixed on the blank television screen. Neither of them spoke.
▶️ Next time you write a scene, ask: Would it feel different if another POV told this story? Try rewriting it. The results may surprise you.

Alt text: Witch Tip Tuesday: Stormwater is a powerful ingredient to add to a spell when you need a boost of strength and meaning. It should be used in small quantities, taking into consideration the strength of the storm it was taken from.
When determining the potency of the stormwater, you need to take into account a couple of things:
1) The season of the storm. Winter thunderstorms tend to have more strength and meaning in their waters while spring thunderstorms will bring more speed and positivity for example (from my own experience).
2) The type of storm. Hurricane water is very destructive and strong. Tornado water is very quick and has a more targeted effect. Thunderstorms help give boosts and melted blizzard water can give the spell a longer and more gradual effect.
Once you understand the properties of the specific storm and the water coming from it, that water becomes a powerful tool to add when needed. Use it in small amounts to avoid disastrous impacts that could come back on you too.

Rhiannon: *calling Ianto*
Ianto: Hi Rhiannon, are the kids ok?
Rhiannon: Yeah they're fine, I was just wondering-
*sounds of machinery in the background*
Rhiannon: ...what's going on? Is this a bad time?
Ianto: Oh that? No yeah its fine I'm just tossing my boyfriend off a cliff.
Rhiannon: You're...what? What's going on? Is everything alright?
Ianto: Oh yeah. It's just that he's currently fully encased in cement so I've gotta break him out.
Rhiannon: ...
Rhiannon: But wouldn't that kill him Ianto?? If this is a bad time I can-
Ianto: *laughs* Oh don't worry about him he'll be fine. So what's up?
