as someone who got CONSTANTLY slurred with “dyke” (and many more) in middle school bc I was a gnc presumed-girl who was relatively open about thinking girls are attractive, I just look at all the people telling me that now, as an adult, I can’t self-identify with/as a dyke and reclaim the label for myself just bc I’ve found myself to be a transandrogynous multigender genderqueer exclusively-t4t partnering aroace — aka, not a cut-and-dry, fresh-from-the-mold, exclusively wlw lesbian — I just look at them, and I say: fuck you, I am who I am, and that’s a dyke
yeah!!!!!! good for you, i'm so glad you feel that way! people are so fucked up in their gatekeeping for this slur, they try to leave out a good 85% of the people who are affected by it, but you have every right to use it, and good for you for loudly, proudly being a dyke! genderqueer, transandrogynous, multigender, aroace, t4t dykes forever!

Share your piercings!
I really want to get a piercing, and I would love it if it were gender affirming.
So, please share your piercings! Especially if some aspect of them is gender affirming in some way. Share anything you want about them, the more details the better.
Pictures are welcome, please keep them sfw, and describe them if possible.
I also want to encourage people of different genders and gender expressions to participate, that way many of us can get ideas.
(this post is geared twords the trans, non-binary, genderqueer, and adjacent community but everyone is welcome to participate, and help give ideas)

it's amazing to me how much the label transandrogynous relaxes me. i started hormones with androgyny in mind but the sharp uptick in popularity of transmasc/transfem made me think i Had to call myself by singular binary terms and they Had to directly "oppose" my assigned sex.
but now i'm just me, remaking my body into an androgyne i recognize in the mirror, and thank god for that.

“Nonbinary people don’t owe you androgyny” ok sure but I’d still like representation for and to see other androgynous trans people thanks!

on the subject of transphobia
can we stop fucking assuming that every nonbinary person is transmasc or transfemme?
this is the biggest peeve I have with this whole transmisogyny vs transandrophobia debate -- y'all are so busy arguing about transmasc vs transfemme and the nonbinary or intersex people who don't identify with either of those terms are completely left in the dirt
let's not create yet another binary, yeah?

'binary' isnt a slur, it isnt a mean word, it isnt a bad word. there are differences between how binary trans people are treated by others both within and outside of the trans community, between how you move through Cisiety and are harmed within it, and how nonbinary trans people are. there are things binary trans people are benefited by that actively hurt nonbinary trans people, and ime, whenever i bring those things up as being harmful to me, binary trans people wave them away because they are beneficial to them as binary people.
i dont need to coddle or comfort you and say things like "ohhh yes of course your gender is just as multifaceted and complex as minee!!". i don't need to justify myself when i point out that being or passing as a binary gender brings can give you certain situational advantages that being nonbinary bars from me. i dont need to continuously capitulate, i dont need to be constantly scared over whether or not im hurting your feelings by asking you to acknowledge my experiences as a nonbinary trans person.

Transmasc/Transfem, AFAB/AMAB, TME/TMA, Feminine/Masculine... All rebinarisation, and other enben engage in it. What happened to transneutrality, transxenity and transandrogyny? They must exist alongside transmasculinity and transfemininity, most enben do not find themselves aligned with just one binary gender. Do not rebinarise us into transmasc and transfem.
What happened to our AGABs not mattering? Yet wherever we go, people are itching to know what is in our trousers, what we had at birth, what we have now. What about intersex people who were not given an assigned gender, or had theirs revoked time and time again? What about bottom surgery? Binary bottom surgery, duosexual bottom surgery or nullosexual bottom surgery? What happened to disregarding the assigned sex? What happened to the lack of binary?
TMA/TME binary needs its own post, but many other enben have covered it beautifully on this site and others and I encourage you to seek them out.
I understand as a human who is programmed to binarise, it's hard to actually call everyone by they/them until proven otherwise, it is hard to stop categorising people as one or the other. But please, stop reinventing the binary. Stop forcing us to comply with binaries as genderqueers, as enben, as the multigendered, as the agendered. We are all not binary, it's in the name.

i am just. so mad. about the transmisogyny/transandrogyny talk
like. okay. "transmisandry doesn't exist because 1) transmisogyny is the intersection between transphobia and misogyny and 2) misandry doesn't exist so 3) transphobia can't intersect with misandry"
okay. so.
transmisandry is not the intersection between transphobia and misandry. transmisandry is the term used by transmasc people of all genders to discuss our oppression. yes, transmisogyny is the most common way transphobia rears its ugly head, but there are issues that affect a lot of transmasc people and not a lot of transfemme people.
definition of transmisogyny is the intersection of transphobia and misogyny which affects trans women and transfemme people.
transmisandry is the intersection of transphobia and misogyny which affects trans men and transmasc people. (i can't find a term which would correlate to trans nonbinary people, sorry. discrimination against nb people is definitely real though.)
if you don't like the word, come up with a better one. "transmisogyny exempt" and "transmisogyny affected" does not work in this case. yeah i'm exempt from the intersection of transphobia and misogyny as it affects transfemme people. but that's not an appropriate word to use when i'm talking about me being questioned for doing anything that isn't masculine enough for other people. it's not appropriate when i talk about my past s.assault. it's not appropriate when i talk about how i have difficulty trusting cis mspec men when they tell me that they toootally see me as a man. when it's embarrassing to be rejected from ""the brotherhood"" when trying so hard to fit in with them. when i simply am not allowed to do things men do, because in the eyes of others, maleness is inherent and more powerful, so i'm basically "lying to try to make myself look male better." when i'm denied gynecology appointments. when i'm forced to be in the female ward and ridiculed for it at the same time. when i am completely invisible or just ignored, because i'm not a scary enough target for people who target trans women. like those are things that are transphobic, yeah, but it is specifically because i'm transmasculine, aka "trying to be a man," because as someone seen as a woman, i'm infantilized and laughed at for thinking i can achieve something in a sexist world, especially something so big as maleness itself.
okay. when i am infantilized to the point of not deserving something so inherent as maleness, then i really don't think it's just "both sexism and transphobia" man. when a guy at work looks at me, his eyes see, yes, an insane girl, but also a weak boy on the bench in gym class who was not picked into the boys' team because he was too weak to be a real boy.
there's also something to be said about trans men and transmasculine people being all thrown in the same bag with nonbinary people who don't present masculine nor transfeminine, cis lesbians, regular ol' stereotypical feminists and also just women who aren't girly/womanly enough, as like, these weirdo snowflakes thinking that "girly whining will get them anywhere". yes, it is clearly misogyny, but also the crossing over into "masculine territory" is like, a specific kind of misogyny. is there any talk of that? genuine question btw if you have recs, i would love to hear about them.

♅ Uranus Transandrogynous Flag
A transandrogynous flag centred around a theme of the planet Uranus. Can be used for either aesthetic purposes or if your transandrogyny has a connection to Uranus in some way.
(Requested by @versandrogyne, flag made by Damien.)

frank what does the transgender artificial intelligence trans flag look like and what do the stripes represent?
It doesn't really have a flag. At first I made one where all six colors were represented by different combinations of hexadecimal numbers, and I felt like I had to draw something like that if I were going to put it on my computer screen.
So then I realized, "okay, it's a computer screen, if I want to use all six colors that's not going to happen, but if I want to use only two colors then I can just choose one of the ones on the color wheel," and then I realized that that was the "purple" option.
Then I made the stripes vertical because I had to draw the "blue" option, which is the first one on the color wheel
ETA: the colors represent
transfeminine
transmasc
transneutral
transsiggender
transandrogyny
and
transagender.

Like, I genuinely am transgender in other ways (transepicenity, transandrogyny, transneutroisity(?), transmaverinity) but not necessarily trans in a MASCULINE sense
Like I very much am my own customized weird nepeta gender, not really most of the time male or female

do u know of a term for someone who medically or socially transitions in a way that "adds" another gender to their assigned gender? for example, an amab bigender person who is male & female and is on E so they can have feminine traits, but still presents as masculine in some ways. i know there's transandrogynous, but what im looking for is closer to (continuing with my example here) someone who is a cis man and a trans woman, separately, at the same time, if that makes sense. thanks in advance!
integragender. however that doesn't specify the genders outside ones assigned gender (cis). transandrogynous sounds closer, however it doesn't specify cisness. circumgender sounds similar.
utrinque(gender), fulgurmasc and lapisfem are some possible options for plurals/system members.
now I think specifically there doesn't seem to be a term for that. I really wish someone could coin. "cistrans" could be enough, but just as integragender, trans isn't just the other binary gender. ambinary could be complementary on that, as it means possessing both binary genders

Transmascfem Flag
Tumblr media
Transfemasc/Transmascfem/Transfemmasc (transfemasline/transfemmasline, transfemimasculinity, transfemmasculinity/transfemasculinity or transmascufemininity): transgender individuals identifying with gender femininity & masculinity to a greater extent than with neutrality; or being transfeminine & transmasculine at once.
Transfemimasculine/transfemmasculine/transfemasculine/transmascfeminine individuals may or may not identify as sensgender (sensmascfem), adgender (admascfem), transambiguous (transambigue) or transdrogynous (transandrogynous). Combining transneufem with transneumasc flags’ nonneutral parts to not look so much with BTB flag.

the reason i tend to use transmisandry instead of transandrophobia is because transandrogyny is a thing that exists distinct from transmasculinity and transfemininity, and like, i don't like confusing the matter any more than it already is.
i recognize the terms are etymologically distinct, but it's difficult to tell from the pov of a layperson who isn't terminally embedded in twitblr discourse, whereas transmisandry isn't likely to be misidentified at a glance--most people are familiar with the term misandry ime.
i've already dealt with a lot of exorsexism and erasure of the transandro experience to begin with--often in the form of explicitly conflating it with transmasculinity! so like. yeah. that's my preference.

gonna be honest I see anyone talking about this "my gender is more complicated than yours" shit as someone who genuinely cannot comprehend that other people that don't share certain traits with them can still in fact have rich interior lives. as an agender trans woman who uses she/her I've never had anyone say it to me who wasn't (usually unknowingly) transmisogynistic
see but im not talking about "rich interior lives" and the assumption that i am is exactly what im talking about. i am talking about the actual physical way that reality treats and percieves me in comparison to the way it treats and percieves you. saying my gender is "more complex" means to me that i am physically incapable of existing in a strictly binary world and that there is no thing i can pass as bc "binary man" and "binary woman" are both incorrect for me. and the Cisiety in question does not allow androgyny to exist - it is exclusively the timeframe people have to decide whether they think you are a cisman or a ciswoman, or a failure and a freak. i dont subscribe to that "binary privilege" shit, thats not how privilege works. but there are differences in the ways both you and i can navigate this strictly binary Cisiety!!! and those differences deserve to be named, imo
like. again. i dont have to comfort you about your own internal sense of gender before youll listen to me about my experiences in the real world as genderqueer. as a different sort of transsexual than you.
(and bc i Know what binary ppl love to say: i know not everyone is 'capable of passing'. what i am talking about specifically is the difference between being unable to pass as a cis woman or a cis man vs being unable to pass bc what i am does not exist AT ALL in a binary society, and both of those things are incorrect ans unattainable.)
(anyways if that language is too imperfect for you thats like fine but. its just confusing to me, i dont get why its hard to understand what we are talking about here. our experiences w our nonbinary genders are completely different! why do i have to discuss them like theyre the same?)
#do you consider yourself transfem first or agender first on an internal level?#do you feel like you are predominantly treated as a trans woman in your day to day? does that hurt the part of you that is agender?#< not trying to grill u or anything im genuinely curious#ive had similar convos w my transmasc and transfem nonbinary friends as well as like. my gnc binary trans friends#i am just curious bc. like i said 'binary' isnt a bad thing to be and frankly since u identify urself as agender ur not really the target a#dience here anyways?#the idea that theres no such thing as a binary trans person just#fundamentally misunderstands the extremely broad swathe of nonbinary experiences and treatments#my passing transmasc enby friends dont particularly feel touched by transphobia unless theyre clocked or unless our areas laws changed#but some DO feel like they r effected by exorsexism on a day to day by being assumed to be binary men and having the other parts of their i#entities erased#while others are completely comfortable being percieved as strictly men and moving through life strictly as men#which is sounds like. i would guess youd have a similar position since u exclusively use she/her?#like.. it sounds to me like your 'rich interior life' doesnt really have an outward effect on the way people percieve and treat you and the#way you react to it which is very different from my experience#binary doesnt mean your gender is 'simple' it just means that you are comfortable within a binary system even of you dont personally identi#y with it. and maybe this is a case of 'political identity vs personal identity'??#and all of this is FINE its just. literally every time i talk about my own unique positioning my transandrogyny or whatever gives me#people crawl out of the woodwork to tell me my experiences are not actually unique#do u see what my issue is? my own trans experiences are erased bc other people 'disagree' with . what. my perspective as an 'unaligned' enb#? when its like. literally none of us are gonna have the same needs or experiences as trans people#and if 'binary' works to show that you are fine and comfortable being percieved exclusively as a woman#and 'nonbinary' works to show i am not#i dont really see what the issue w using the word 'binary' is#like i said. its not a slur. its not a bad thing to be.#and tbh i think this insistence that 'unaligned' nonbinary ppls perspectives arent actually unique to binary or 'aligned' nonbinary ppls is#directly contributing to like. lateral bigotry coming from said 'unaligned' enbies. like if u put urself in my shoes for a second and u gre#up being constantly told you were either a cis invader who didnt actually have any trans experiences and that only people who want to 'full#transition' were REAL transsexuals then. youd be kinda jaded too right? and im sure you ARE kinda jaded lol.#anyways. sorry for rambling at you i dont have any more tags left lol
