Song: Burning blue by Mariah the Scientist🧪💎
Tumblr media
Masterlist…ᖭི༏ᖫྀ
Prologue: …
Abby is in quite the pickle, she is trying to get back in the real world again after dealing with so many cross roads with life. Scared to make the the wrong move again, however a certain someone pushes her to get back out there with life again. And once she does take that step.. well. Let’s find that out together, shall we?
Chapter 1: Nursing you back to life.. (wip) 5/31/2025
This rose has thorns yet she still grew from the cracks of the earth, only you take the step to water her roots, and pluck her weeds. Pricked again and again, and.. again. Until she finally lets you in on one condition: keep an eye on him.
Chapter 2: Oh yeah? She’s the problem!
Abby’s is too independent for her own good, she just won’t let reader take care of her. It’s as if that vulnerability with that single panic attack has her trying to prove something. She wants it to be known she’s not weak. However reader can only see a child throwing a tantrum, a tantrum for pride. Will you help her or watch her struggle again?
Chapter 3: Beyond the boundary
To make up for such silly antics, Abby figures.. why not a dance? Maybe even a drink or two, and when drinks are making the sober mind fight for its life, all she can do is give in to her thoughts, she spills everything to you, and I mean everything. But will it last?
Chapter 4: Behind Enemy lines
Miranda- the chief of the village decides: it’s time for you and Abby to put petty squabbles aside and work with each other for once. A tower needs to be searched not only for infected but to make sure unwanted ones are not trespassing.
Chapter 5: Glaciers
Abby misunderstands your relationship with her and assumes you were never serious about her, she puts up a wall, refusing to speak to you, but when she does its curt and rushed.
Chapter 6: Shooting for my own hand
If Abby’s so high strung on the idea that you do what you want to do.. then so be it. Treacherous waters of the unknown, could drown you, but at this point you could give two shits about what drowns you. And so does Abby… If this is how it’s meant to be, then fuck it. Hello twins..
Chapter 7: Mend the bond
Maybe this little dove reached to high for the sun? And maybe your raven will Eclipse your wishes. A traitor is afoot in the village, and you find out the worst way possible of whom it is. Does Abby love you enough to save you? Or will she throw you away again?
Epilogue: Conflagration

synopsis: in which months of mocking jake online comes back to bite you, and he makes sure you regret every single word—on your knees.
genre: idol au
pairing: idol!jake x blogger!reader
warnings: dubcon? bratty!reader, petty!jake, mean!jake, big dick!jake, kidnapping (sort of kind of??), oral (m.rec), cum swallowing, reader grinds down on jake’s shoe, mention of daddy kink (but it’s not used), forced submission, manhandling, titty sucking, marking, begging, degrading. self degradation, rough and unprotected p in v, orgasm denial, overstimulation, light spanking slapping and chocking, creampie, spitting, recording for blackmail purposes. i think that’s it….
wc: 15.1k
a/n: this took a lot more time that i initially thought it would … but it’s here now! this draft has been sitting in my archives for years like literal years. back when i used to write on wattpad for bts i had this plot written for tae but scrapped it because i lacked creativity to make it happen. but here we r ! also side note this is not edited to the best of its abilities so if u c a mistake… im sorry :D hope you enjoy, notes, reblogs and comments are always appreciated. enjoy :)
✎﹏﹏
the dorm door slammed open, the sound of sneakers dragging across the floor echoing behind it. the 7 exhausted boys spilled into the living room, all drained and sweaty from the insane dance practice that had run two hours longer than scheduled. jake collapsed face-first onto the couch, groaning into a throw pillow as he stretches his limbs before he feels a cramp in his leg.
"i think my spine is permanently bent," he mumbled, not moving an inch.
sunghoon flopped onto the floor, using his hoodie as a pillow. "i think i disassociated during 'bite me.'"
"you always disassociate during 'bite me,'" heeseung shot back, tossing a towel at him making sunghoon scowl.
jay, meanwhile, had his phone out, thumb lazily scrolling through twitter as he half-listened to the chaos around him. he was about to put his phone down when a thread caught his eye.
"kpop idols who probably have the smallest dick (a very unserious thread)"
"...oh?" jay blinked, intrigued for all the wrong reasons. a grin formed on his lips as he clicked, the list started off wild.
1. jaehyun nct - idc what y'all say. he screams below average. 2. jeno nct - this is a hater post. cry about it. 3. jake from enhypen - golden retriever energy but gives micro vibes. sorry not sorry.
jay let out a loud, sudden laugh at the description given for jake—catching everyone's attention.
"yo, jake," he wheezed, turning the screen toward him. "look what someone said about you."
jake rolled over lazily, half hazy, "what?"
jay shoved the phone in front of his face. jake read the tweet once, then again. then a third time. his brows furrowed deeper with each pass, almost as if he couldn't believe what he was reading.
"...are you serious right now?"
he sat up, yanking the phone from jay's hand to read it himself. his eyes scanned the username, the post and then the likes. 10k likes for a bullshit post, jake scoffed in disbelief. he scrolled down to read the replies which were full of people either agreeing or arguing like their lives depended on it.
"no because she's right and she should say it louder" one of the comments read, jake furrowed his eyebrows before scowling.
"i love him but... yeah."
"nah he gives big dick energy actually"
"this is so mean LMFAOOO"
jake's mouth opened in shock. "why am i even on this list? what did i do to deserve this? how does someone look at me and go, 'yeah, micro dick.' what the hell?"
jay couldn't stop laughing. "it's so random, too. like. where did they get the data? did they run a poll?"
"this isn't funny!" jake snapped, slapping jay's shoulder with the back of his hand. "i'm being slandered in front of thousands of people. tens of thousands!"
sunoo peeked over jay's shoulder. "ooh. and someone made a follow-up post. wait—found their tumblr. they said he looks like he apologizes after missionary.'" sunoo cackles, "i can totally see that."
jake nearly choked on air, "what?!"
he snatched sunoo's phone this time, heart pounding as he scrolls violently across your twitter page. he followed the breadcrumb trail from twitter to a tumblr blog: @s0ftbrat666.
the header was a blurry photo of a cunty hello kitty, and the bio just said: "unserious about everything but dick size."
"who the hell is this? why do they hate me so bad?"
niki, who had been quietly sipping water from the kitchen, muttered, "maybe they're a fan of yours. like, weirdly obsessed. reverse psychology or something."
"no. this is personal. this feels targeted," jake muttered, already downloading and opening the tumblr app on his phone. "i'm not letting this slide."
he made a new account. he picked the most ironic, absurd username he could think of: @goldenjake420.
because that screams, 'i'm the real jake sim!!'
he messaged you immediately, his hands shaking in rage as he smashes his fingers into the screen.
@goldenjake420: hey just saw your post about me having a micro dick on twitter. not sure why you said that but i can assure you that it's not true kinda rude ngl maybe take it down?
"this is so stupid," he muttered, tossing his phone beside him.
jay raised a brow. "you really just dm'd a twitter troll on tumblr?"
"yes. because the truth matters, jay. i do not have a micro dick!" he exclaims, clearly frustrated from his group mates lack of empathy. he looks around the room in hopes of his members reassurance, only to receive looks of disturbance.
"cmon guys, you know i don't have a micro dick.." he trails off when he sees sunoo grimace at his words.
heeseung smirked from the other side of the couch suddenly sitting up right, ignoring his aching body. "you should send a pic to prove it."
jay cackles before agreeing, "yeah, downwards angles always make that shit look like a tower."
"SHUT UP!" jake shouted, face red in a mixture of embarrassment and anger.
the room erupted in laughter as jake sat there fuming, arms crossed, waiting for a response. he had no idea the person he messaged was already rolling their eyes and preparing to block him.
and this was only the beginning.
you were no stranger to the occasional deranged and delusional fan losing their mind over a post. it was social media, not a diplomatic summit. if you said someone's fave had bad fashion sense or gave off weak dick energy, it was bound to stir drama—but you thrived in it.
what you didn't expect, though, was to get a dm from an account called @goldenjake420 claiming to be jake himself. not just a fan defending him. not someone crying in your inbox about how you were "too mean."
no. this person had committed to the bit.
@goldenjake420: hey just saw your post about me having a micro dick on twitter. not sure why you said that but i can assure you that it's not true kinda rude ngl maybe take it down?
you blinked at the message, snorted, and sat back in your chair.
"okay..." you muttered under your breath. "we've reached new levels of delusion."
you clicked the profile. no posts. followed no one. default layout. pfp of a blurry golden retriever. and the username?
goldenjake420.
"oh my god," you wheezed. this was peak fandom brainrot.
you stared at the message for a minute, thumbs hovering over your keyboard before you decided, you know what? fine. you wanna play jake sim? let's play.
you typed:
@s0ftbrat666: omg jake??? THE jake sim??? i am so sorry... i didn't know you had a tumblr account i feel so bad now omg i'll take it down right away thank you for being so mature and respectful about it... ugh i feel terrible lol
you hit send. then burst out laughing, eyes watering as you cackle alone in your room.
and five minutes later, you posted a new post on your blog.
—— post by @s0ftbrat666
just got a dm from someone PRETENDING to be jake sim because they were mad i said he has a micro dick LMAOOO. like babes be serious... jake sim is not on tumblr dot com messaging me with a blurry pic of a golden retriever and the username @/goldenjake420. but since he's here reading my posts, hey jake! if u're mad now wait til u see what i post next
anyway updated my list: "kpop idols who give off submissive missionary micro dick energy: extended version" jake is now first on the list. i've added footnotes and gifs as evidence. enjoy :] ——
you tagged it: #jake sim #enhypen #pls don't take this seriously #except jake if ur reading this then yeah take it seriously
you sat back and refreshed the notes every few seconds. it was already blowing up. likes, reblogs, someone screaming in the tags: "NOT THE FOOTNOTES."
you were thriving, satisfaction filling you as the comments seemed to hype you up.
unbeknownst to you, somewhere in a dorm across the city, jake was screaming into a pillow.
jake was laying on his stomach, face shoved into a couch cushion, aggressively refreshing your tumblr page like a man on a mission. the first message he sent you hadn't gone exactly how he expected. he thought maybe—maybe—you'd feel a little guilty, take the post down, maybe even apologize. instead, he was met with:
"omg jake??? THE jake sim??? i am so sorry..."
at first, he blinked. then smiled. you were going to apologize and take it down..great!
okay, he thought, that was easier than expected.
but then he saw the post you had published just a few minute later.
—— "kpop idols who give off submissive missionary micro dick energy: extended version." jake is now first on the list. i've added footnotes. and gifs. enjoy :] ——
"NO I AM NOT," he yelled into the pillow, voice muffled but full of sheer disbelief.
he rolled over and shot upright, shoving his phone in jay's face. "do you SEE this? i was already called micro dick jake, but now i'm a submissive pillow princess? where is she even getting this from?"
jay looked over the post with a calm expression and said, "well... you did say 'ngl' in a tumblr dm. that's kinda submissive."
"jay."
"i'm just saying."
jake's blood pressure was actively rising. he was pacing the living room now, phone clenched in his fist. "this isn't a joke anymore. she's making footnotes. gifs, bro. there's like a whole academic paper on my dick energy. and worst of all, PEOPLE ARE AGREEING."
sunoo peeked around the corner. "maybe just let it go? like... it's tumblr. no one's gonna remember next week."
"it's twitter too! no. no, she wanted to make it personal. it's personal now."
he went back to tumblr, typing furiously in your dm's.
@goldenjake420: okay first of all?? i was acc being really nice u said some really rude stuff and i still tried to talk to u calmly but now ur doubling down with footnotes?? idk y ur so convinced i'm a submissive pillow princess but ur wrong like so wrong scientifically inaccurate levels of wrong
he hit send. then stared at the screen.
nothing. no response. refresh. refresh.
"error: message could not be delivered."
"...what?" jake frowned, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion as he desperately tried sending his messages again.
he clicked your profile.
"you've been blocked by this user."
the silence that followed was deafening.
"she blocked me," he whispered, staring at his phone like it had personally betrayed him. "she actually blocked me."
jay cackled from across the room. "maybe now you'll stop fighting the tumblr girl who thinks you're a bottom."
"i'm not a bottom!" jake snapped, defensive. "and i'm definitely not a pillow princess!"
jay peers over jake's shoulder, his face pulls into a grimace as he reads jake's messages. "maybe it's a good thing that those didn't deliver... you're proving her point." jake rolls his eyes in response, not wanting to deal with his friend.
he opened twitter, then paused. was he really about to tweet about this?
he closed the app.
instead, he opened his notes app and started typing:
"debunking tumblr slander: why i, jake sim, am not submissive nor do i have a micro dick."
this wasn't over.
if he had to write a dissertation, he would. he was reclaiming his name. one footnote at a time.
you were in bed, face smushed into your pillow, scrolling aimlessly when the tag notification came in. you were about to ignore it—probably another reblog of your cursed "submissive missionary micro dick energy" thread—but the caption caught your eye:
@s0ftbrat666 you need to see this LMAOOO he made a THREAD. a whole thread.
confused but curious, you tapped the post.
and there it was.
a full thread. by a tumblr user named @truthaboutjake, which already gave deranged energy, but it got better.
"debunking tumblr slander: why i, jake sim, am not submissive nor do i have a micro dick (a thread)."
you nearly dropped your phone, a giggle leaving you as you excitedly click on the thread.
the first slide was formatted like a presentation. bolded title, bullet points, and an unnecessary amount of spacing like someone had spent way too long formatting it.
—— slide 1: addressing the accusations • the tumblr user @s0ftbrat666 has made multiple posts claiming i am submissive • she has also accused me of having a micro dick • both of these are false, offensive, and based on no real evidence ——
no real evidence, he said. like you were in court.
"what in the deranged.." you muttered to yourself, re-reading the text a second time to make sure you were hallucinating.
you snorted, swiping to the next.
—— slide 2: rebuttal • i've been told i give off dominant energy • no one who owns a denim jacket collection that big can be submissive • as for the size... let's just say i've never received complaints ——
you had to pause there, hand over your mouth, wheezing. "denim jackets radiate peg me," you cackle to yourself.
this wasn't a thread written by a deranged fan. no, this was someone personally offended on a soul level. and the way it was written? the tone? the wording?
it was giving him. it was jake.
no one else would be this pressed.
you laughed so hard you had to sit up.
this man had been so insulted by your dumb, unserious thirst post that he created a whole alternate account, wrote a google-doc-tier thread, and was now trying to clear his name in the notes app format. you were obsessed.
you hit reblog.
—— @s0ftbrat666: i have never in my life witnessed a man fight for his dom rights this hard the denim jacket argument almost had me convinced ngl
jake sim if this is actually you: 1. calm down 2. you're literally proving my point 3. post the evidence since you're so confident ——
the comments came flooding in:
"NOT HIM MAKING A PRESENTATION" "'never received complaints' is CRAZY" "he could've just logged off but now he's in too deep" "@truthaboutjake is shaking"
you weren't done though. oh no.
you clicked the original post again and dm'd @truthaboutjake directly.
@s0ftbrat666: wow a thread? you really sat down and made a powerpoint about your dick this is the best thing that's happened to me all week but you still haven't proven anything so until i see hard (and i mean HARD) evidence you're staying in your submissive micro dick era i'll wait <33
you hit send with a shit-eating grin.
this was your roman empire now. you were going to be thinking about this thread forever.
jake stared at your message like it physically slapped him.
"so until i see hard (and i mean HARD) evidence you're staying in your submissive micro dick era"
his jaw dropped.
"e-evidence?!" he sputtered aloud, standing up in the middle of the dorm living room like he'd just been accused of murder.
jay, sitting across the room with earbuds in, pulled one out and glanced up. "what now?"
"she wants evidence."
jay blinked. "like...?"
jake gestured wildly at his phone. "like evidence evidence!"
jay raised both brows before grinning "...so what i said about the downward angle, i'm telling you jake that shit makes it look h—"
"NO!" jake practically yelled. "i'm not sending a picture of my dick to some random troll on tumblr!"
he fumed. typed. deleted. typed again. then, finally, sent:
@truthaboutjake: okay. listen. i'm not sending you a dick pic. i don't care how much you want "evidence" that's weird. this whole thing is weird. i'm literally just trying to correct a false narrative about myself
you saw the message and immediately rolled your eyes so hard you almost saw your brain. you were curled up on your couch, hoodie sleeves pulled over your hands, typing with vicious speed.
@s0ftbrat666: omg. are you serious right now?? NO ONE asked for actual dick pics. what the hell is wrong with you. you're literally so deep in this delusion you really think you're jake sim like?? be serious for once you are a grown man on tumblr dot com pretending to be an idol and defending your imaginary dick size this is next level behavior. you need to touch grass and maybe talk to a therapist jake sim would never you are EMBARRASSING yourself rn.
you hit send and sighed, rubbing your temples. it was funny at first but the more you interacted with this person the more brain cells you lost, it shocked you that people would go to such lengths to defend their favs.
this was beyond fandom drama now. this was a case study. and the worst part? you were kind of impressed with how committed he was to the bit. concerned of course, but impressed too.
like... he was spiraling. but passionately.
still. you weren't going to let up. because whoever this man was, he needed to be humbled.
you opened a new post draft and typed:
—— @s0ftbrat666: update: he dm'd me again and accused me of demanding dick pics because i said "evidence"
i rest my case. this is not jake sim. this is some 32-year-old man who unironically uses reddit and thinks being called "submissive" is a slur
log off, drink some water, and go outside before you get a nosebleed from rage
#jake sim #not the real one obviously #this is tumblr not onlyfans relax ——
✎﹏﹏
jake tried to move on.
he really did.
after the dick thread. after being labeled a submissive missionary pillow princess. after the fake fan accusations and being accused of roleplaying as himself—he made the conscious choice to stop checking your blog. he muted your username. closed tumblr for a solid 24 hours. he even turned off his notifs.
he was healing. growing. rebuilding his sanity.
until a member sent him a screenshot.
it was sunghoon.
of course it was sunghoon.
sunghoon: yo y tf she got sm time on her hands icl tho she funny asf
attached was a photo of your newest tumblr post.
jake opened it, eyes squinting. then he saw it.
—— @s0ftbrat666: watched enhypen's most recent stage and i just wanna know WHO chose those pants for jake like bffr. i can see his entire situation
the dick print? front and center. and it's not giving what he thinks it's giving
it's giving: he begged the stylist to let him wear those pants so he could prove me wrong and i'm here to tell you... babe... don't ever do that again.
i'm LAUGHING.
#enhypen #jake sim #pls don't wear tight pants if ur not ready for the scrutiny king #it's not looking good ——
jake froze.
his phone was literally vibrating with how hard he was gripping it.
"she's watching performances now?" he whispered to himself, horrified.
jay looked up from across the room, warily. "...oh god. again?"
"she's analyzing my crotch, jay. she made a post about my dick print."
jay blinked. "that's... new."
"and she said it's 'not giving'!" jake practically screamed, spinning his phone around to show him. "not giving what?! not giving big dick energy?!?!"
jay read it silently, lips twitching. "...it does kind of sound like she thinks you're trying to prove her wrong. which, to be fair, you kinda are." he pauses for a second, "but i thought she deemed you as a deranged fan, does she think that you're actually texting her?"
jake shrugs, "who knows what she's thinking, clearly way to much of this is the shit she posts. also i wasn't even thinking about her when i wore those pants!"
"you literally made a thread defending your dick size last week."
"NOT THE POINT."
jake felt like he was going to combust. it was like every time he clawed his way back to peace, you dropped another post from hell and dragged him back into the pit.
and this time?
this time you targeted his outfit. his styling choices. his crotch visibility. he couldn't even enjoy the stage anymore without wondering if you were out there in a hoodie, behind a screen, zooming in on freeze frames of his pants.
"this is psychological warfare," jake muttered.
sunghoon looked up from his phone, his face annoyed. he was tired of hearing about this, "just block her again."
jake clenched his jaw. "she'll post about it. she'll brag."
he scrolled back up, reading the caption again. and again. his fingers hovered over your username.
he didn't message you. not this time.
instead, he posted on his burner account:
—— @truthaboutjake: some people spend their lives spreading negativity online because they have nothing else going for them. if you spend your free time zooming in on people's bodies just to make fun of them, seek help.
also, the pants looked fire. ——
he hit post. and then, two minutes later he opened the group chat.
jayke: whoever styled me last week. never again. we're going back to loose pants. i'm not doing this with tumblr anymore
✎﹏﹏
jake tried to stay composed. he tried.
but every time he opened tumblr, there you were—lurking in his psyche like a demon with wi-fi.
at first it had been a few jabs, sprinkled here and there between your usual posts about other idols. someone's hair, another's dance move, one guy you kept thirsting over for his "evil smirk" and "long fingers." whatever. jake didn't care.
until suddenly—your entire blog became about him.
not in a cute, stan-like way.
no.
it was relentless.
"jake sim update: still looks like a man who apologizes during sex."
"new era, same micro dick energy."
"his pants looked like they were holding in a lie."
"i know he fumbles the aux every time. just look at him."
your followers ate it up. reblog after reblog. tags like "#he's just so bashable" and "#jake sim slander is self-care" filled the notes.
there were polls. there were graphics.
you made a tier list of idols based on who looked like they cried after sex, and jake was placed right at the top with the caption: "he looks like he'd say 'was that okay?' while tucking his soft dick back in his briefs."
jake was spiraling.
the worst part? you didn't even seem like a hater. you didn't hate him.
you just... targeted him like it was your job. your content was crafted with care. effort. borderline affection.
jay leaned over one afternoon while jake doomscrolled through another one of your polls—this one titled "which idol do you think would last the shortest in bed (no offense)", where jake was winning by 68%.
"you know," jay mused, "i think she actually likes you."
jake looked up, eyes wide with horror as he looks at jay disgusted. "what?"
jay shrugged. "she's obsessed. it's giving weirdly specific attention. enemies-to-lovers coded."
"jay. she made a gifset of my crotch."
"exactly."
jake nearly threw his phone across the room.
it wasn't just slander anymore—it was becoming personal. and the most infuriating part?
you were so sure. so smugly sure.
every post was laced with casual cruelty and the sharp confidence of someone who truly believed they knew him. his vibes. his music taste. his dick size. like you'd studied him and filed a damn report.
and the urge to prove you wrong? it was eating at him.
he'd see one of your posts and get this itch. this slow, simmering burn in his gut. like he had something to prove now. like he wanted to walk up to you and say—
"say that shit again. to my face."
he'd fantasized about it more than once.
cornering you at a fansign, maybe. or catching you backstage if he ever figured out who you were. you with that smug little expression, your arms crossed like you knew everything. and him, leaning in, low and sharp, and making damn sure you knew you were wrong about everything—especially that.
he wasn't even mad anymore. not just mad. he was determined.
this wasn't just tumblr slander. this was a challenge.
and jake sim? he didn't lose.
✎﹏﹏
jake laid in bed, phone hovering above his face, lit only by the blue glow of tumblr's godforsaken app. it was well past 2 a.m., and he'd already scrolled through your entire blog—again.
he told himself it was just to see if you'd posted anything new. which, of course, you had,
but really, he was spiraling.
another post. this one read:
—— @softbrat666: something about jake sim just screams whines when it doesn't slide in all the way like he'd pause mid-thrust to ask if you're okay because he came too fast
he'd definitely say 'but you just feel so good...' as an excuse ——
and the worst part?
jake read every single reply. studied them, even. like they held some kind of twisted insight into how you saw him. how you imagined him. you were building this whole persona of him in your mind and then broadcasting it to thousands of followers like it was gospel. and the most messed up part?
you had just enough accuracy to make it sting.
and yet—you remained anonymous.
faceless. untouchable.
he'd tried to find out who you were. he dug through old posts, clicked your tags, searched your url on twitter and insta.
all he found was:     •    you lived in seoul     •    you were 21     •    you drank too much iced americano     •    and you had audacity in excess
that was it. no selfies. no personal posts. no full name. you were just a sassy username and a collection of jake sim hate posts.
meanwhile, he was a public figure with his whole government face on blast while you dragged him through the mud constantly.
he hated how much he thought about what you looked like.
were you soft and bratty, like your tone suggested? did you smirk when you wrote those captions? were you the type to twirl your hair and say, "what? it's not that deep," while ruining a man's reputation?
he imagined you walking around seoul, laughing with your friends, ordering overpriced coffee with that smug, evil-little-gremlin energy.
he imagined running into you.
he'd play it cool at first—polite, casual, maybe even a little flirty.
watch you ramble. watch you squirm. and when he caught you slipping—maybe when you made some offhand comment about k-pop or tumblr—he'd hit you with it:
"so how's that blog going? still think i'm a submissive pillow princess with a micro dick?"
he rolled onto his side, fuming into his pillow. you lived in his head rent-free and you didn't even know what he looked like at night when he was losing sleep over your bullshit posts.
it was unfair.
you got to stay invisible while he was out here analyzing his own stage outfits to figure out what clip you were gonna slander next.
he scrolled back to that gif set you made of his recent performance. paused on the close-up. the zoom-in.
the goddamn caption: "not jake sim trying to start a dickprint redemption arc. spoiler: it's not working."
his eye twitched.
"this girl is the devil," he muttered.
and yet... he couldn't stop checking. he needed to know what you'd say next.
✎﹏﹏
you wake up to absolute chaos.
your phone is buzzing. not one or two notifications—hundreds. group chats. twitter and tumblr dms. unknown numbers. missed calls. it's like your phone caught fire overnight.
you blink against the morning light, groggy and confused, heart picking up speed. something's wrong. you can feel it. you squint at the screen, drag down your notifications, and the first notification you see makes your stomach drop.
"girl you're trending rn... what did you DO???"
then another.
"is that actually your name???"
your pulse is pounding before you even open twitter. your fingers shake as you type your own @ into the search bar, and the second you hit enter, your breath catches.
it's you.
your name. your photo. your phone number. everything.
someone—no, a group of people—had clearly gone full fbi. they'd taken all your casual, dumb little posts over the years and pieced them together like a fucked-up puzzle.
and now your full name was in a viral thread titled: "this the girl behind the jake sim micro dick blog?"
with a photo of you at a party two months ago, smile beaming.
people were quote-tweeting it with comments like: "she built like someone who'd have beef with jake sim for no reason." "oh she definitely owns a stan twitter burner too." "her blog is my roman empire i need her in therapy immediately."
your blood turned to ice. you were exposed.
fully.
not just as a shitposter but as the jake sim hater. your inbox was flooded—death threats, confessions, apologies, people asking if it was really you. tumblr dms screaming:
"TAKE THE POSTS DOWN BEFORE HE SEES THEM."
too late.
you scrambled to log into tumblr. your hands fumbled across the keys. it took three tries to get your password right.
the second you were in, you did the only thing you could do.
you hit deactivate.
the blog was gone. years of posts. thousands of notes. all of your followers, your drafts, your hate-poll templates.
deleted.
and then the panic really set in.
your hands were trembling. your ears were ringing. and all you could think about was @truthaboutjake, your mind racing. it was him, you realized that it was him.
"he knows. jake sim fucking knows who i am."
and the worst part?
you had no idea what he'd do with it.
✎﹏﹏
jake found out the same way everyone else did—waking up to a string of texts from jay and sunghoon absolutely losing their shit.
jay: bro. check twitter. sunghoon: she got exposed. jay: HER NAME IS OUT LMAOOO jay: bet she's sweating rn sunghoon: she's kinda cute tho
he blinked hard, still groggy, and tapped open the thread that seemed to be trending.
your face stared back at him.
his heart flipped.
you looked... nothing like what he expected. he'd imagined someone smug. cold. maybe with villain bangs and a cigarette habit.
but no—there you were, face flushed in a group photo, laughing mid-sip of iced americano. you looked normal. it almost hurt to admit, but you were pretty.
you looked real.
and now, you were reachable.
he did what anyone would do: searched your name on instagram. he found your linked facebook.
scrolled. scrolled.
paused.
you had your workplace tagged in an old comment.
"juniper bean café - seoul branch."
he stared at it for a long moment. then, very calmly, he stood up, threw on a hoodie, cap, and mask, and left the dorm.
✎﹏﹏
the café was a little tucked away spot with plants hanging from the ceiling and a chalkboard sign outside that said "kiss me, i'm caffeinated."
jake walked in, glancing around. he spotted you immediately, behind the counter, head down as you punched in an order.
he could tell that you had a rough morning, good. your posture was tense. your hair was pulled back messily. your voice was strained. you looked tired, your eyes that seemed so full of life in your leaked photos had disappeared.
he stepped up to the counter. waited. his eyes trailed down your figure, your frame was draped with a loose fitted sweater and some baggy light wash jeans. you wore a black apron, cinching at your waist—allowing his hungry eyes to capture your curves.
you were trying to look invisible. trying not to stand out. but to him—you were glowing with guilt.
he watched you fumble with a stack of napkins, pretending you didn't feel his eyes burning into you. finally you cleared your throat, still not looking up.
"hi, what can i get you?"
he smiled behind his mask, slow and wicked. he pulled it down just enough to speak—voice dripping low, sharp with mocking sweetness.
"you gonna spit in my drink too?" he asked. "or just keep running your mouth somewhere i can't see?"
you froze.
head snapping up. eyes locking with his. and there it was—that flash of horror, recognition, disbelief. it was him.
you had to admit, he was just as if not more handsome in person. your mouth dried up when you watched his lips curl into a smirk and his eye twitch.
your mouth opened. closed. no sound.
"hi," he said, almost sweetly. "miss me?"
you fumbled a reply—something, anything—but he leaned in, resting his elbows on the counter like he had all the time in the world.
"you disappeared fast. what happened? got leaked and lost all your guts or did you burn through all your micro dick material?"
your coworker looked between you both, utterly confused and in awe that jake was standing in front her. you took a breath. straightened your spine. tried to salvage your dignity.
"this is harassment," you muttered.
"this is karma," jake shot back, his smile dark. he twitched in anger, how dare you call this harassment—what about what you had been doing for the last couple of weeks? "i wanted a latte, by the way. no sugar. unless you're finally ready to be sweet to me."
you nearly dropped the milk jug.
he didn't care. he was so amused. you were the girl who wrote entire essays dragging his dickprint and his imagined bedroom habits? you, flushed and stammering behind a café register?
he wanted to laugh. he wanted to lean in closer. he wanted to ruin you back.
and this? this was just the beginning.
your hands were shaking. milk frother sputtering. heart pounding in your chest like it wanted to escape. and he—jake fucking sim—just stood there.
smiling.
smug.
head tilted slightly like he was thrilled by your discomfort. "you gonna make that latte, or you gonna keep fumbling around and glaring at me?" he drawled, voice low and casual.
you gritted your teeth, turned back to the machine, and fumbled through the motions of making the drink. you could feel his eyes on you the entire time—watching, drinking you in like you were the fucking joke.
you finally slid the drink across the counter, trying not to slam it.
"here. now leave."
he didn't move. just sipped slowly, then licked a bit of foam from his lip like it was the most dramatic thing anyone had ever done in a coffee shop.
and then—he leaned forward. elbow on the counter. voice quiet, words slow and deliberate:
"what time do you get off?"
you blinked, "excuse me?"
"your shift. when does it end?"
"why the fuck would i tell you that?"
his smile widened, all teeth now, sharp and smug. "because there's going to be a black car waiting for you outside." he continues, "when you clock out, you're going to get in. and then you're going to follow instructions."
you stared at him, genuinely floored. "are you insane? what the hell are you talking about?"
he tilted his head, mockingly sympathetic. "i get it. you're scared. probably embarrassed." he grins, "but see, that's the thing about defamation—once it's public, i can take legal action. and you've been very public."
your stomach dropped, "you're bluffing."
he shrugged. "wanna bet your savings account on that?"
you opened your mouth. closed it again. because—fuck. he wasn't bluffing. he didn't have to. you'd posted too much. said too much. and now he had your face, your name, your location.
"you can't just—kidnap me," you said, weaker than intended.
he laughed.
"it's not kidnapping if you get in willingly, sweetheart."
then he slid the latte off the counter, turned, and started to walk toward the door. before he left, he glanced back, over his shoulder.
"9 p.m., right?" he called out. "don't be late. i hate being stood up." he grinned, fuck him.
the bell jingled as he left. the door shut behind him.
and you stood there, in your apron and sneakers and sweaty palms, absolutely rattled. what the fuck did you just get yourself into?
✎﹏﹏
9:03 p.m.
you were pacing behind the café. your shift ended three minutes ago, but you hadn't stepped outside yet. you couldn't. your feet felt like bricks. your stomach twisted with anxiety, hands clenched in the pockets of your jeans.
what the fuck am i doing?
you shouldn't go. you know you shouldn't go. this was literally stranger danger 101, except instead of a stranger it was a kpop idol whose dick size you flamed online for weeks.
your brain was screaming at you. your nerves were a warzone. your inner monologue sounded like one long anxiety spiral:
"you're insane." "this is how people get murdered." "he's rich. he could make you disappear and blame it on anxiety meds." "but also... maybe he just wants to talk?" "or maybe he's gonna sue you in person with his scary legal team and laugh while you cry." "or—worse—what if he takes a picture with you and posts it with some shady ass caption like 'finally found her :)' and now you're really cooked?"
your fists clenched tighter.
this was your own fault. you were the one who made that blog. you were the one who said he looked like a pillow princess. you were the one who photoshopped a pacifier into that one fansite photo and captioned it "baby boy can't handle coochie."
and now?
now he knew your name. your face. your shift schedule.
and there it was, waiting on the curb like a horror movie prop—a sleek black car, windows tinted, headlights glowing like eyes.
you stared at it.
and then, finally, took a deep breath and walked towards it.
the back door opened before you could even touch it. you slid inside, hesitating, clutching your bag to your chest like a shield. you looked around the dimly lit interior. leather seats. no jake.
just a stone-faced driver in a black cap.
"um," you said cautiously. "where are we going?"
no response.
you leaned forward slightly. "hello? i just—can you at least tell me if jake is—"
silence.
he kept driving.
great.
you sat back, heart still racing. the lights of the city blurred past the windows. you couldn't even track the direction—you were too jittery to focus. every turn felt like it took you farther from safety.
and god, the silence was suffocating.
you hated it. you hated him.
jake sim and his smug face and his legal threats and the fact that this whole thing was so humiliating.
how the hell did he turn it around on you? curse those people who leaked you.
you were supposed to have the power. the upper hand. you were the one who had thousands of people laughing at his expense. you were the one whose posts got quoted like bible verses on stan twitter.
and now?
now you were alone, in his car, being driven to god knows where because he told you to.
you should've never fucking posted about his dick. you should've stayed anonymous. kept your mouth shut. deleted the pacifier post when it hit 10k notes.
the car slowed. you peeked out the window. it wasn't some mansion, like you feared. wasn't a dungeon either—at least you think so.
it was a private-looking building—modern, sleek, tucked down a quiet alley with a gated entrance. definitely expensive. definitely secluded.
you were dropped off at the curb. the driver didn't say anything—just nodded toward the front door.
you stepped out slowly, phone gripped tight in your hand, ready to fake an emergency call or scream if necessary.
a man, different from the driver, opened the front door. another silent guy in all black gestured for you to follow.
you hesitated, then followed him down a short hallway, up a narrow flight of stairs, until you reached a door with a single number carved into it: 17.
he knocked once, then opened it.
you stepped in—and stopped.
jake was inside.
he was leaning casually against a wall, dressed in all black—hoodie, chain, jeans, hair tousled, like he hadn't even tried and still looked like a good.
he was scrolling on his phone when you entered, then looked up.
and grinned, "hey." he stops, letting his gaze travel down your trembling form, "glad you could make it, hate blogger."
you wanted to punch him. you wanted to turn around and leave. but most of all—you wanted to know what the hell came next.
and by the look on his face?
he was very ready to show you.
room 17 is quiet. too quiet.
you stand near the door, gripping the strap of your bag like it's your last line of defense. jake hasn't moved from his place against the wall, but his eyes haven't left you for a second. he looks too calm. like this is just some casual meetup and not the most batshit confrontation of your entire life.
"you still haven't told me why i'm here," you say finally, voice tight, trying to sound unbothered even though your throat is dry.
he doesn't answer right away. he just studies you, eyes flicking from your clenched fists to your shifting posture to the tiny, almost-invisible tremble in your knees.
then he lets out a soft little chuckle, the kind that feels mean. smug and quiet and condescending.
"you really don't know?" he asks, stepping away from the wall at last. his strides are slow, deliberate, like he knows you won't run—but that you should.
you take a step back automatically, bumping into the door behind you.
"if this is about suing me," you mutter, chin lifting defensively, "you could've just emailed your legal team. this whole drama king act—" "i'm not suing you." he cuts you off, voice calm but sharp. he walks past you and locks the door with a soft click. your stomach flips.
"then what the hell is this?" he turns back to you, expression unreadable, "this is about correction."
you blink, "what?"
"you posted things that were... inaccurate." he steps closer. you press yourself further into the door. "about me. my body. my performance. my preferences." another step. you swear you stop breathing, "so now i'm giving you a chance to see the truth."
you stare up at him, wide-eyed, "you're joking."
"does it look like i'm joking?" he murmurs.
you're momentarily speechless. your brain is whirring, trying to process what's happening. jake sim—international idol, global heartthrob, the man you've memed within an inch of his digital life—has dragged you to a private room to debunk his dick size?
you should laugh, but you can't.
because he's standing too close. because he's looking at you like prey. because his voice is dipped in amusement but his eyes are furious.
"you're out of your mind," you whisper, eyes wide and your jaw slacked.
he shrugs, "maybe."
his hand lifts, knuckles brushing your chin—just enough to make your breath catch.
"but you made this personal. you dragged it out. you turned it into a running gag." he leans down slightly, until your noses are nearly brushing. "and now you're gonna watch what happens when you say shit you can't back up."
your throat works around a swallow. your persona starts to crack.
still—you can't not be a brat.
"so what, you're gonna just pull your dick out like some frat boy in a scandal?" you snort. "you're so mad over a joke, you're—"
"baby," his voice cuts you off again, soft but dangerous.
"a joke is calling me clingy or annoying. a joke is editing me into a pink onesie." he steps even closer, "but accusing me of being a submissive pillow princess with a dick that couldn't break a hymen?" he tilts his head, mocking, "that's slander."
you flush. deeply, "you saw that post?"
"i've seen every post," he says coolly. "and the reblogs. and the tags. and the memes."
you suddenly feel so small. not because he's taller—though he is—but because you'd spent months building this image of jake sim as a joke. a punchline. a target.
and now he's right here. and he's pissed.
"you're really that bothered?" you ask, but your voice is quieter now, unsure. "bothered?" he repeats, almost scoffing. "sweetheart, i was obsessed." his hand lifts again, brushes your hair away from your face, fingers dragging a little too slow behind your ear.
"you don't understand what it's like to be degraded by someone who's too cowardly to even show their face." he pauses, his eyes dropping to your lips, "but i'll show you."
you swallow hard. "so what?" you ask, trying not to waver. "you want me to apologize? to... take it all back? post a formal retraction about your dick?"
he grins. slow and sharp, "nah."
"i want you to see it," he pauses, lets the words sink in. "and then i want to see the look on your face when you realize you were dead fucking wrong."
your mouth opens. no sound comes out. your heart is pounding so fast you think you might throw up. because there's teasing and there's joking and there's flirting with danger—but this? this is crossing the line, and you don't know if you want him to stop.
you laugh, it comes out breathy and nervous and completely unconvincing. "okay," you say, holding your hands up a little, trying to cut the tension with sarcasm, "haha, very funny. you got me. you've officially scared the shit out of me, and if that was your goal, congratulations."
jake just stands there. watching you. expression unreadable, unreadable and dark. you shift on your feet, trying to find a way out of this, trying to reclaim some sense of control.
"look," you continue, "i'll take everything down, okay? every post. every meme. every stupid out-of-pocket caption." you swallow. "i'll issue an apology. hell, i'll write a thread. a whole google doc. whatever you want."
you inch away from the door, toward the side of the room, trying to put some space between you.
"i crossed a line. i get that now." you laugh again, weaker this time. "like—clearly."
jake still doesn't speak, he starts walking.
slow. silent. like a cat with its prey cornered.
your back hits the wall.
"i'll stop posting about you," you rush out, your heart beating frantically when you feel jake's breath fan against your cheek. "seriously. no more degrading content. no more jokes. you win, okay?" his palm hits the wall beside your head with a sharp thud.
you freeze.
he leans in.
"i don't want a fucking apology," he murmurs, voice thick and low, the sound of it making your legs weaken. you try to hold his gaze, but it's hard when he's this close. when you can smell his cologne—clean and warm, like cedar and skin. when you can see the heat in his eyes, the tension in his jaw.
"i want you to look at me," he says, "and admit you were wrong."
"i just did—" "no." his other hand comes up, fingers ghosting your chin, tilting it up. "not because you're scared. not because you think i'm gonna sue your ass. i want you to say it because you know."
you suck in a breath as his fingers graze your throat. not squeezing. not threatening. but claiming, staking a presence.
"you think i'm some submissive little pushover," he whispers, "who just lays there and takes it. soft. boring. harmless."
your heart pounds in your chest so loud you swear it echoes. "you think you own the narrative. that you get to decide who i am, what i'm like in bed, how big my fucking dick is."
you flinch at the way he says it, so vulgar and harsh it shoots straight to your core.
"but the second i show up—" his thumb brushes your bottom lip. "you're quiet. nervous. twitchy. like you already know you were talking out of your ass."
you suck in a shaky breath and try to bite back the heat that's crawling up your neck. "you're insane," you whisper, but there's no bite behind it.
his body is so close now, you can feel the heat radiating off him. he hasn't even touched you properly and you already feel like your knees are going to give.
"what do you want from me?" you ask, voice barely holding together. he leans down, lips brushing the shell of your ear.
"i want to fuck the lies out of your mouth." his voice is so low, it vibrates down your spine. "i want you to choke on everything you said about me and realize i was never the one being dominated."
you let out a small, shaky sound—and that's when he finally kisses you.
not soft.
not slow.
possessive. like he's claiming what he's owed.
like he's trying to shove every insult back down your throat, one filthy kiss at a time.
your mind blanks the second his mouth claims yours. his tongue pushes past your lips without hesitation, his hand gripping your jaw to keep you right where he wants you, and you feel it deep—too deep. like he's trying to crawl inside your ribcage and brand himself there.
his kiss isn't gentle. it's punishment. all teeth and tongue, your back shoved harder into the wall as he presses against you. his body completely, deliberately dominating yours.
"still think i'm soft?" he growls against your lips when he pulls back, breath ragged, thumb digging into the underside of your chin to keep you looking at him.
you don't answer. you can't.
your mouth is open, panting, lips wet and swollen from how violently he just kissed you. your knees barely hold.
his gaze drops to your mouth. then lower, and lower.
he smirks.
"you look scared," he says, tilting his head slightly. "thought you liked writing filthy shit about me. what happened to all that confidence?"
you swallow hard, still in absolute disbelief, "you're—you're actually insane."
"and you're actually still turned on." his hand drops to your hip, gripping hard, pulling you flush against him—and fuck. he's hard. painfully hard. pressing right against your lower stomach. and he knows you feel it.
your eyes widen. you try to squirm away but there's nowhere to go, your back hits the wall again and his thigh wedges between your legs.
"not so micro now, is it?" he breathes against your neck. you let out a broken sound—half gasp, half groan—and that's when jake loses it.
he grabs your wrists and pins them above your head with one hand, other hand sliding beneath your shirt, grazing skin and pulling a shocked noise out of you. he doesn't give you room to breathe.
"say it," he growls. "say you were wrong."
you shake your head. still stubborn. still you.
"no?" he scoffs. "fine." his thigh presses harder between your legs, rocking up once. your clit throbbed pathetically at the feeling, it was just enough friction to make your eyes roll back. you try to keep your composure, but he watches your face change—watches your pride falter.
"don't lie to me, baby." his voice drops lower—hungrier. "you're dripping. over the same guy you dragged for months."
you gasp, trying to turn your face away from him, but he leans in again, his nose brushing your cheek.
"you gonna blog about this too?" he whispers. "tell your little followers how jake sim manhandled you and made you eat your words with his cock halfway down your throat?"
you whimper and it disgusts you how fast your body betrays you. how wet you already are. how much you want him to ruin you just to prove you were wrong.
and he can tell.
he sees the shift in your expression. how your resistance is slowly, deliciously, falling apart.
your wrists are still pinned, your breathing uneven, chest rising and falling fast as jake leans in like he owns the air around you.
"i'm done hearing you talk," he mutters, dragging his mouth along your jaw. "i think it's time you showed me just how sorry you really are."
he releases your hands and steps back. you don't move. your legs are trembling, your pride hanging on by a thread.
"on your knees," he says simply.
you scoff, arms folding defensively across your chest, "you can't be serious—"
he tilts his head, "i'm not asking again."
there's no loud threat. no yelling. just the terrifying calm of someone who already knows he's won. you hold your ground—barely. but something about the way he looks down at you, already palming the bulge in his jeans, makes your body respond before your mind does.
you sink, slowly. knees hitting the floor like it's a confession. he watches you with quiet satisfaction, like he's waited for this exact moment.
he had been dreaming about the moment he would get you to himself, on your knees—right where he wanted you.
"look at me," he says, and you do—eyes meeting his as he unzips, the sound ridiculously loud in the silence.
he's already thick in his hand when he pulls it out, and your mouth goes dry. you don't want to admit it, but fuck. it's big. way bigger than you ever gave him credit for. your throat tightens at the sheer weight of it, thick and flushed and veined.
his smirk deepens when he sees the way your eyes drop.
"what was that again?" he mocks, giving himself a slow stroke. "micro?"
you glare up at him, heat crawling up your neck. "i was clearly misinformed."
"say it properly."
you hesitate, his free hand tangles in your hair—firm, but not painful. just enough to tilt your face up toward him.
"say. it."
you grit your teeth, "i was wrong."
"about what?"
you groan. "about your dick. okay? you don't have a micro dick."
he raises an eyebrow, "that all?"
"it's big," you mutter, cheeks burning. "you made your point." he laughs—low and satisfied—and guides your face closer, "not yet."
you gasp when you feel his tip touch your cheek, he grins at your expression—feeling satisfied with your shock. he does a few experimental taps, dragging his length over your lips. you hold in a whine when he smears his pre cum over your bottom lip, almost as if he was applying lipgloss on you.
and then he pushes in.
there's no easing into it—he gives you the thick weight of his cock all at once, making you choke. your hands scrambling to grip his thighs as he holds you there, watching with dark, satisfied eyes.
"look at that," he murmurs. "mouth so full of me you can't even talk shit now." you gag again, but his grip stays steady, fingers flexing against the back of your head as he rocks his hips in slow, controlled thrusts. just enough to make you feel how deep he is and prove how wrong you were.
he could feel how warm your mouth was around him, basking in the feeling of not only pleasure but the satisfaction of shutting you up.
"this what you wanted?" he groans. "to see what i've been hiding in those pants you loved to degrade?"
you can't respond. not when he's using your mouth like a cock sleeve, fucking every insult out of you with a punishing rhythm. spit drips from out of your mouth and onto your chin. tears prick at your eyes and yet—somewhere deep in your gut—you like it.
jake's grip on your hair gets stronger, the pain causing your jaw to slack as you continue to take his brutal pace. you could feel the head of his cock  rub against the back of your throat, the force not strong enough to make you gag but enough to cause a stream of tears to run down your face.
your nose touched his pelvis with every thrust, indicating how deep he was going. "fuck. look at you, __. who knew cock being in your mouth is the only way to shut you up."
you whine at his words, looking up at him with pleading eyes—yet you didn't know what exacting you were begging for. you rub your thighs together in hopes for some temporary relief, the scene so lewd that you could feel yourself gush in your panties—holding in the urge to let your hands wander down to touch yourself.
jake looked down at you with hungry eyes, his lip twitching as his grip in your hair grew tighter with each thrust. he let low moans slip from his mouth every time his dick grazed the back of your throat.
"aren't you a dirty little whore.." jake drawls out, his chest heaving with pleasure when he notices how tightly you have your thighs clenched. "getting all worked up for someone you've publicly shat on for having the least sex appeal."
you moaned around him when suddenly he pushed your thighs apart with his foot, wedging his sneaker between your legs—giving you something to ease up the tension in your core.
you mewl when he pushed against your clit, almost urging you to grind down against him while he used your mouth to his hearts content. slowly, but surely—you allowed yourself to ground yourself against him. it sickened you how desperate you had become in just a span of a few minutes.
jake almost cums when he sees you move your hips, desperate for any kind of friction to relieve you from your throbbing clit.
the familiar feeling in his stomach begins to tighten, his grip on you becoming unforgiving as he loses self control and allows himself to push himself into your mouth as much as he could. his tip hits the back of your throat repeatedly now, a mixture of his cum and your spit dribbling out of your mouth.
"f-fuck," he groans. "m'gonna cum.. you're gonna take it? yeah? take it in that bratty mouth, hm?" jake murmurs to what seems himself just before he combusts in your mouth. you swallowed a chocked moan when you feel his warm cum coat your mouth, gagging around him as he twitches.
jake felt as if he was on cloud 9, his head lulling to the side as he keeps your head planted where it is—ensuring that you swallow what he gave you fully.
when he finally pulls back, cock glistening with your spit and his cum, your jaw aches as you swallow the salty yet sweet taste of his release.  your chest heaving like you've just survived something.
"mouth open and tongue out," he demands. you hesitantly open your mouth, your tongue out as you show him that you swallowed everything.
you whine out desperately when he slides his foot away, leaving you aching again. jake tsk's, "desperate slut."
he crouches down to your level, thumb wiping the corner of your mouth.
"still think i'm a pillow princess?" his voice is a little breathless now. dark and smug. "or you finally ready to admit you don't know shit about me?"
your throat still burns. your lips are swollen, coated in spit and shame, and jake's leaning over you like he's just getting started.
"on your feet."
you hesitate, still panting, still dazed from the way he fucked your mouth like it was owed to him. but something in his voice—firm, expectant—makes you move. your knees tremble as you rise.
jake doesn't give you time to adjust. the second you're upright, he steps in close, hands on your waist, guiding you backward until your thighs hit the edge of the bed.
you're pressed back against the mattress, thighs parted under his hands, still catching your breath from how rough he'd just been with your mouth. but instead of backing down, you do what you do best—deflect.
"look—how about this," you say, voice shaking but holding onto some scrap of cocky defiance. "i'll just say the blog was satire. irony. you know, performance art or something. no one has to know i meant any of it."
jake's expression doesn't change.
"or better yet—i'll make a new post trashing someone else. redirect the attention. easy." you flash a grin that's all teeth. "maybe i'll even throw in a little praise for you. balance it out."
he just blinks at you. slowly.
"you think you're negotiating right now?" his voice is calm, but the grip on your thighs tightens.
you blink. "i mean, i'm trying to be reasonable—"
"reasonable?" he laughs, but there's no humor in it. "you publicly dragged me for weeks. humiliated me. and now that you're caught, you want to rewrite the narrative?"
"i'm offering solutions—" "you're offering bullshit," he snaps, and in a second he's climbing over you, his body slotting between your legs like it was made to be there. "and you think you still have leverage? cute."
your breath hitches. your hands push at his chest, but he grabs your wrists and pins them down again, harder this time—your body arching into him involuntarily.
"here's what's really gonna happen," he says, leaning in, nose brushing yours. "you're gonna try to flip this. act like you're still in control. try to turn the tables on me."
your throat tightens.
"but you won't. because the second you try, i'll remind you who made you beg. who had you gagging on the dick you said didn't exist." his voice drops lower, dangerous. "and then i'll ruin you all over again."
you glare up at him, cheeks flushed with embarrassment and defiance."you know what? fine." your voice is sharp, shaky. "you wanna play games? i'll play. let's see how fast you fold when i turn this around."
he raises an eyebrow. "is that right?" you reach down between your bodies—slow, deliberate—wrapping your hand around him. he's still hard. unfairly so. hot and heavy in your palm.
"maybe i was wrong about the size," you murmur, stroking him slow, his breath hitching. "but maybe you really are just a pillow princess. maybe you like being praised more than you like fucking."
his jaw ticks.
you press a kiss to his neck, voice a taunt against his skin. "what happens if i ride you instead? if i make you cum all over yourself."
he freezes.
"what if i write about that next?" you sit up dragging your tongue along the edge of his jaw. "'jake sim—big dick, zero stamina.' think the internet'll love that?"
you think you've got him.
until suddenly—he flips you.
you yelp, back hitting the mattress again as he rips your hand away from his cock and shoves your thighs up around his waist. the shift is fast, dominant, practiced.
"you really thought that'd work?" he's laughing now—mean, breathless, hungry. "thought you'd rile me up and get the upper hand? you forget who tracked you down and got you here in this room." his voice is pure venom now, thick with want. "who had you gagging and drooling on your knees while you fucked yourself on my shoes not even 5 minutes ago?"
his hands expertly yank off your jeans, his thumb hooked around the waistband of your baby pink cotton panties—teasing you. you writhe beneath him, but he doesn't budge—he presses into you, cock sliding between your clothed folds just to tease, just to show you what you don't get to control.
"you wanna test stamina?" he growls. "i'll fuck you 'til that smug little attitude disappears. 'til you're begging me to stop. 'til you're crying and calling me daddy."
you gasp—rage, arousal, panic blending in your gut—but you can't deny the throb between your legs. the way your body betrays your pride.
he feels it too.
his free hand runs up your sweater, your breath shaking as you feel him run his fingers up your stomach and make themselves comfortable on your tits. letting your hands go momentarily, he's yanking your sweater off and throwing it across the room.
"didn't know bratty girls like you wore baby pink. ruffles, lace trim—bows?" he grins, his hands playing with the frills of your bra as you twitch beneath him.
"fuck you," you spat out, voice coming out weaker than you wanted it to. jake only smirks, his hand reaching up to pull the straps of your bra down—letting your tits fall out. "oh i will," and with that he's taking one of your nipples hostage in his mouth. his grip on your wrists stays planted, not allowing you to move or struggle against him when he nips at the sensitive skin of your breasts.
he switches from left to right for a few minutes, basking in your whimpers and mewls before he kisses down your stomach. pulling away he's back to being face to face with you, a smug look on his face before he plants a kiss to your jaw. the kiss turns into bites, nipping at your neck and chest as he leaves behind purple splotches.
"maybe you can post the marks i left and then bash me," jake grins against your skin. you roll your eyes in response only for jake to shoot you a look that says: behave.
he moves your underwear to the side, exposing your cunt to his hungry eyes. he runs his thumb through your slit, gathering your slick.
"so wet," he mutters, dragging the head of his cock against your slit. "guess your body knows who's in charge, even if your mouth doesn't." he slams into you—deep, all at once—and you scream.
no teasing now. no easing in. no prepping.
just punishment. just proof. just him, ruining you from the inside out like it's the only way to shut you up.
"gonna make you forget every insult," he grits, hips snapping into yours over and over. "gonna fuck the hate right outta you."
he could feel your velvet walls convulse, sucking him in like a vacuum as he thrusts into you. you cry out, fingers digging into his shoulders, back arching, mind blurring. you hate how good it feels. how right.
"gonna ruin you," he whispers, lips at your neck. "and you're gonna thank me for it." his mouth traveling down to your tit to engulf one of your nipples once again.
your body jolts with every thrust, the sound of skin slapping and moans filling the room as you struggle to adjust to his girth.
you're still trembling when jake lifts your chin. his touch is deceptively gentle, but there's nothing soft in his expression. smug. commanding. dangerously patient.
"you still think you were right?" he asks lowly, voice scraping down your spine like velvet over steel. you blink up at him, lips parted, but your throat is dry. no sass now. not with the way your body's still recovering, knees weak, throat raw from every choked sound he pulled from you.
when you don't respond jake stops his movement, his hips go still as he simply stares down at you with a dark look in his eyes.
you were falling apart.
his cock was deep inside you, filling you so completely you couldn't even think straight— but jake wasn't moving. he just held you there, pinned beneath him, wrists trapped against the mattress, his hips grinding slow and mean against yours.
you whimpered, hips twitching up against him helplessly, desperate for more. he smirked down at you, cruel and smug, loving the way your body shook, the way your face twisted in frustration.
"what's wrong?" he murmured mockingly, leaning in so close his lips brushed your ear. "thought you'd be tougher than this."
you rationed with yourself for a moment, were you really going to beg? yes.
you tried to twist your wrists free but his grip only tightened. "please," you gasped out, tears welling in your eyes from how badly you needed to cum. "please, jake, i need it—"
he laughed, low and sharp, and snapped his hips forward once—deep and brutal—making you cry out. but then he stilled again, ignoring your desperate whines.
"you need it?" he repeated, pretending to think. "need my cock? need me to make you cum like the stupid little whore you are?"
your cheeks burned, shame rolling through you, but you nodded frantically.
"say it," he ordered, voice dropping, rough. you squeezed your eyes shut, humiliated, but the words still poured out.
"i need your cock," you sobbed. "please jake, please—i'll do anything, i'll be good, just let me cum—"
he laughed again, so fucking satisfied with himself.
"should've thought about being good before you started running your mouth online," he muttered, dragging his cock slow and deep inside you, making you arch and cry out.
you were shaking now—your whole body burning, every nerve stretched tight and ready to snap.
"you want it that bad?" he asked casually, grinding his hips just enough to make you sob.
"yes," you choked out. "please, jake—please, i need to cum, i can't—"
he grinned wickedly and finally, finally started fucking into you hard—deep, punishing thrusts that made you see stars. your walls clung onto how dick like a suction in attempt to milk him dry.
your moans spilled out loud and wrecked, your whole body bowing off the bed.
"good girl," he murmured darkly, "you're gonna cum when i say. not a second before." you nodded frantically, not trusting yourself to speak without crying. and when he finally, finally leaned down and growled, "cum for me, slut,"
you shattered.
you came so hard you were sobbing, spasming around him, your body giving out completely under his.
jake fucked you through it, laughing under his breath, dragging every last bit of pleasure and humiliation out of you until you were left shaking and gasping for air.
and even then, he wasn't done with you yet. he hadn't cum yet, and at the end of the day that's what you were here for—to be his little cum slut.  you barely had time to breathe—your body still spasming from the orgasm he tore out of you before jake grabbed your hips and pulled you back down onto him, grinding even deeper.
you yelped, broken noises spilling out of your mouth, trying to squirm away from the overwhelming sensation.
"no," he snapped, voice sharp and final, one hand locking tight around your waist to keep you from moving. "you don't get to run."
your head lolled back, tears slipping down your cheeks, your body a twitching mess.
"too much," you sobbed, trembling violently.
he laughed—laughed—at your misery.
"too bad," he muttered against your ear. "you're not done." he set a brutal rhythm, fucking into you hard, fast, merciless. your thighs shook, your nails dug into the sheets, your mouth fell open in helpless, gasping cries. you could feel yourself spiraling again—pain and pleasure tangled together until you couldn't tell where one ended and the other began.
"you think you're in control?" he grunted, slamming into you harder, making you scream. "you think you can say whatever you want about me and not pay for it?"
your whole body jolted with every thrust, the humiliation making your head spin.
"say it," he growled. "say you were wrong."
you whimpered, stubborn even now, biting down hard on your lip. he slowed down, grinding his cock against your sensitive walls in deep, deliberate circles that made you keen helplessly.
"say it," he repeated, cruel and low, "or i'll edge you until you're fucking crying."
your pride crumbled fast.
"i was wrong," you gasped out, voice cracking. he smirked, hips snapping forward again. "about what?"
you squeezed your eyes shut, shame flooding you. "about—about your dick," you choked out. "i lied, you're big—you're fucking huge—"
he chuckled darkly, like he already knew. "good girl," he breathed, voice dripping with mockery. "what else?"
you shook your head frantically, body jerking with overstimulation. he pulled almost all the way out—your cunt squeezing around nothing— before slamming back in so brutally you cried out.
"what else?" he hissed against your throat.
"i—i'm just a stupid bitch who doesn't know what she's talking about," you sobbed, face burning hot.
he laughed again, so fucking satisfied, so cruel.
"that's right," he murmured. "a stupid little whore who can't stop begging for the cock she said was too small."
you whimpered, broken, humiliated beyond repair. and still—your body clung to him, desperate for more. you realized with a sick twist in your gut that you would do anything—say anything—just to have him fuck you harder.
and jake knew it too.
he leaned down close, mouth brushing yours cruelly.
"beg," he whispered. "beg me to ruin you."
you could barely think. your body was burning, trembling, stretched tight around him— your mind a broken mess of shame and need. and still jake kept fucking you deep, rough, relentless.
his hands were everywhere—gripping your hips, your throat, your jaw—manhandling you like you were nothing more than a toy for him to use.
you whimpered when he grabbed your face, forcing you to look at him.
"beg," he ordered again, voice dark, breathless with lust. "beg me to ruin you, slut."
you shook your head at first, a broken little sob tearing from your throat. he growled low, slammed into you even harder—your back arching, a scream ripping from your lips.
"you don't get to say no," he hissed. "you wanted this." tears streamed down your cheeks, your body trembling violently.
"please," you gasped out, the word slipping before you could even think. "please jake..ruin me, use me. fuck me however you want—"
he laughed, so fucking smug, dragging his cock out slow just to make you whine. "good fucking girl," he murmured. "finally learning your place."
you babbled desperate nonsense, sobbing into the sheets, your pride shattered into dust.and jake fucked you through it all—using you like a fleshlight, pounding into you until your legs gave out, until your voice was wrecked and broken.
"this what you wanted, huh?" he sneered, slapping your ass hard enough to leave a sting. "to get fucked dumb? to get put in your place like the stupid little whore you are?"
you nodded frantically, gasping, sobbing, brain completely mush. "can't even speak anymore," he muttered, mocking. "just a cockdrunk mess." your nails clawed helplessly at the sheets, your cunt squeezing him so tight he groaned.
you felt another orgasm building—sharp, unbearable—but you were too gone to even ask permission. you just sobbed and gasped and let him take everything from you.
"yeah, that's right," he growled, voice thick with pleasure. "cum all over my cock, slut. make a fucking mess."
you shattered, your whole body convulsing around him, screaming his name like a prayer, a curse, a broken confession. and jake fucked you through it, dragging every last bit of your pride and resistance out of you, until there was nothing left but a crying, ruined mess on his cock.
you were shaking. your body was limp, wrecked, trembling under the weight of everything he made you feel.
and jake still wasn't satisfied.
he kept moving, grinding his cock deep inside your overstimulated cunt—mocking every broken sob that fell from your lips.
"what's wrong?" he said, voice dripping with fake sweetness. "too much?"
you could only whimper, drool slipping from the corner of your mouth. he grabbed your face again, rough, forcing your glassy eyes to meet his.
"you wanted to run your mouth so bad," he sneered. "now you can fucking thank me." your brain barely processed the words, too fogged with shame and pleasure. he slapped your cheek lightly—not enough to hurt, but enough to snap your attention back.
"say it," he barked. "say thank you."
you whimpered, tears spilling down your cheeks.
"th-thank you," you stammered, voice barely a whisper.
he smirked, cruel and satisfied.
"louder," he ordered, snapping his hips forward viciously, making you cry out. "thank you!" you sobbed, your voice hoarse and broken.
he chuckled darkly, his hand sliding down your throat, pressing lightly just enough to make your head spin.
"thank me for ruining you," he muttered, rolling his hips slow and deep, dragging another helpless moan from your lips.
your pride was turned into ash, your mind gone.
"thank you for ruining me," you gasped out, shaking uncontrollably, completely destroyed. he groaned, clearly getting off on how ruined you were—your body slack, twitching, drooling, your cunt spasming weakly around him.
"pathetic," he muttered against your ear. "look at you." you could feel how wet and messy everything was—your thighs sticky, the sheets underneath you soaked.
and still—still—he wasn't finished.
"gonna fill you up," he rasped, voice rough with the effort of holding back. "gonna fuck you so full you'll be leaking for days."
you sobbed, the humiliation sinking deeper into your bones.
"please," you whispered, because you didn't know what else to say anymore. he grunted low in his chest, thrusting faster, chasing his release. he could feel that familiar tinge in his stomach, he was close.
"such a good little cumdump," he growled. "just a hole for me to use." you broke again, another weak orgasm rolling through your abused body.
and jake finally spilled inside you—deep, hot, filling you up exactly like he promised.
he didn't pull out immediately. he stayed pressed deep, making sure you felt every drop. when he finally did pull out, you collapsed completely, a ruined, twitching, crying mess.
and jake just chuckled, so fucking smug. running his fingers down your slit before plugging your fluttering hole, making sure that his cum stays in you for as long as it could.
"maybe next time you'll think twice before running your mouth about me," he said, releasing your wrists before he gets off the bed. he left you there, spread open, dripping, humiliated beyond repair.
and you realized with a sick twist of your gut— you liked it.
you fucking loved every humiliating second of it.
✎﹏﹏
your body aches.
not in the romantic, soft-lit, post-orgasm kind of way.
no. it's raw. it's degrading. it's embarrassing.
your legs are trembling so badly you have to lean on the sink just to stay upright. your thighs sticky, sore. your throat dry and stretched thin from the pathetic, wrecked sounds he pulled out of you.
you yank your clothes back on as fast as your shaking hands allow, muttering curses under your breath. you can't even look at yourself in the mirror. because you know what you'll see: the ruined, wrecked version of yourself jake created.
and you hate him.
you hate how smug he looks when you finally stumble back into the room—hair mussed, shirt untucked, standing like he didn't just break you open with nothing but his cock and his fucking mouth. you hate how he leans against the wall, arms crossed, watching you with a look that says he's already won.
you hate that he was right.
and you really, really hate that you liked it.
you roll your shoulders back, force yourself to stand straight even if your body is begging you to drop.
"that what you wanted?" you rasp out, voice wrecked and scratchy. "you win. congrats. want a trophy or something?"
jake doesn't say a word. he just watches. calm. amused. smug.
and it pisses you off. burns you alive from the inside.
"you got what you wanted. you ruined my pride," you snarl, stepping closer even though your knees are ready to give. "so what now? supposed to kneel and thank you? beg you to keep ruining me?"
he cocks his head slightly, lips twitching.
you hate how unbothered he looks. you hate it so much it makes you reckless.
"you don't actually believe i meant all that, right?" you spit. "you really think i meant it when i said you're big? when i cried about how good you fucked me?"
you scoff, shaking your head with a cold, sharp laugh.
"you're pathetic. you got played because i moaned a little."
and that's when everything shifts.
because jake steps forward—smooth, controlled—grabbing your jaw so hard you gasp, slamming your back against the wall without even looking like he's trying. his face is inches from yours, breath warm, eyes dark and furious.
"still lying?" he murmurs.
your heart pounds wildly. you try to twist away but his grip on your jaw tightens, bruising.
"you begged for my cock," he hisses, thumb dragging across your trembling bottom lip. "you fucking cried for it. and you're gonna stand there and lie to my face?"
you choke on your words, humiliation pouring down your spine in cold waves.
he laughs bitterly, the sound vibrating low in his chest. "guess you really are as dumb as you look."
you flinch.
and jake leans in closer, voice dropping lower, meaner. "you wanna pretend you're still in control?" he taunts, dragging his fingers down your throat slow, almost tender. "you wanna act like you didn't cum so fucking hard you couldn't even say my name?"
you tremble.
but you don't back down—not yet. pride and fear tangled up, keeping you frozen.
he chuckles darkly.
"fine," he says, voice a low threat. "i'll remind you."
his hand snakes between your thighs, shoving your jeans down again, your underwear dragging with it, baring you completely in seconds. you gasp, struggling—but he's too strong, too fast. he grabs you by the hips, throws you onto the bed like you're weightless.
and then he's on you.
he presses your wrists to the mattress with one hand again, his weight pinning you down, his other hand roughly forcing your legs apart.
you barely have time to gasp before he's inside you again—deep, brutal, fucking the defiance out of you one savage thrust at a time.
you cry out, throat raw. he fucks you like he's furious, every slam of his hips meant to punish. "not so fucking smug now, huh?" he pants against your ear.
you whimper, broken sounds spilling out without permission.
"what happened to all that fake confidence, princess?" he mocks, rolling his hips harder, forcing your body to take every inch. "thought you said you could handle it."
you sob, writhing under him, but he doesn't let up. he leans down, dragging his teeth across your jaw, making you shudder helplessly.
"gonna make you beg again," he growls. "gonna make you say it like you fucking mean it."
you try to shake your head—but you're drowning. he's everywhere. he's everything. and no matter how much you try to cling to your pride, it crumbles between your shaking hands.
you're crying now—humiliated tears streaking down your flushed face—as he pounds into you mercilessly.
"please," you choke out, voice cracking.
he chuckles, cruel and satisfied.
"please what, baby?" he taunts, slowing his thrusts to a deep, punishing grind that makes your whole body twitch and seize.
"please," you sob again, shame burning you alive. "please let me cum."
he leans back slightly to look at you—hair a mess, eyes gleaming with dark satisfaction.
"you don't deserve to cum," he says, voice mocking. "whores who lie don't get rewards."
you whimper, hips stuttering against his, desperate, broken.
"but," he adds slowly, almost lazily, "if you beg real nice... maybe i'll consider it."
you sob harder, pride shattered into dust. and then—you beg.
you beg like a good little whore.
"please, jake," you cry, voice wrecked and hoarse. "i need it—i need to cum—please, please—"
he grins, dark and cruel, and finally—finally—lets you fall apart again, your body convulsing, cunt clenching around him helplessly as he fucks you through the brutal, soul-crushing orgasm. and you barely have a second to breathe before he's moving again—pulling out, grabbing your face in both hands, forcing your mouth open.
"open wide," he orders.
you're so wrecked you don't even think to disobey. you just open—lips trembling, eyes wide and glassy.
and jake leans over—spits straight into your mouth, thick and wet and humiliating.
you gag slightly, tears burning your eyes.
"swallow," he commands sharply.
you do.
you obey without even thinking.
and he smirks—grabbing his phone, flipping open the recording he just made of your pathetic begging, letting you hear it on loop while you lie there ruined, body trembling, throat raw.
he tucks his phone into his pocket, grabs your chin again, forcing you to look up at him. "remember this next time you wanna talk shit," he says, voice low and smug.
he kisses you—mocking and possessive—and leaves you there: used, wrecked, humiliated, and so thoroughly owned that you can't even pretend anymore.
jake sim ruined you and there's no taking it back.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~°~❦~°~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     “7-Adam-19, armed shoplifter, Radcliffe Complex, 718 Oscar Road. Respond.”
     The dispatcher’s voice filled the silence of the car.
     “7-Adam-19 responding.” Officer  Bradford set down the radio and replaced his hand on the steering wheel.
     “What’s the most important thing to remember when dealing with an armed shoplifter, Boot?” Tim asked you after a moment.
     “Why did I think that when I was in short-sleeves I would get a break from your Tim Tests?” you muttered.
     You’d been Bradford’s rookie for seven months now and some days he still treated you like it was your first day on the force. You appreciated him trying to teach you so thoroughly, but did he have to be so Tim all the time?
     “Is that your answer, Boot?”
     “No, um, I guess it would be that he’s armed. But no, that’s too obvious for you. Ok, what about what they’re stealing? Their physical state? Keeping their hands in sight at all times?”
     Tim sighed, looking bored. “Wrong. It’s—”
     “Suspect on the move, heading east on Apple Boulevard,” came the dispatcher’s update, interrupting your TO’s answer.
     “Looks like we’re headed east,” Tim said, turning sharply in the direction you’d just come from.
     “Saved by the suspect,” you joked.
     “Don’t think this is over,” Tim narrowed his eyes at the road. “Lessons don’t stop for crime.”
     “Ok, batman.”
     Tim glared at you.
     “I mean, Sir.”
     After you’d first been assigned to Officer Bradford, you’d been told stories of his ruthless training style. Your first thought was that you needed to impress him from day one.
     Well, technically your first thought was damn, because you’d have to be insane not to notice how objectively attractive he was. But you’d quickly quelled that thought—crushing on your TO was not how you wanted to start your career as an officer.
     So, impressing him was your second thought. And you had been more than a little terrified of not impressing him.
     You would be lying if you said that wasn’t how things still were between you two, to a degree—you trying to prove yourself and him making it as difficult as possible.
     But, at least after several months, you felt like your TO trusted you more.
     “There!” You pointed to a man running down the street, duffel bag in hand.
     Tim hit the gas, surpassing the suspect, and skidding to a stop in front of him, effectively cutting him off.
     You both hurried out of the car, weapons drawn on the man who was currently aiming his gun back and forth, between you and Bradford.
     “Police! Drop your weapon!” Tim shouted at the man.
     The man hesitated, seeming to be weighing his options—how easily he could take out two cops.
     “Set the weapon down, nice and easy,” Tim ordered, his own gun still pointed at the suspect.”
     The man, seeming to sense the inevitability of his capture, sighed and set his gun on the ground.
     “The answer was dialogue, by the way,” Tim addressed you, his eyes still on the suspect. “Dialogue is the most important  thing when dealing with an armed suspect.”
     “Good to know,” you acknowledged, before ordering the man in front of you. “Hands behind your head, interlace your fingers.”
     The man’s gaze shot to you as he obeyed your commands.
     “Hey, lady cop, you look familiar,” the criminal squinted at you.
     “You must have me mistaken for someone else,” you said. You’d never seen this man in your life.
     “I swear—”
     “Hands on the car!” You ordered
     The man reluctantly did what he was told, placing his palms on the side of the shop.
      “Wait a minute,” the man sized you up before smirking slowly. “Your Paul Cranston’s girl, ain’t ya?”
     You felt your blood instantly run cold at the name.
     “You must have me mistaken for someone else,” you said again, robotically, grabbing one of his arms.
     “No, no I’d recognize that pretty face anywhere,” the criminal whispered. “He told me all about you. Hey, why don’t you let me go and I’ll give you a friendly tip?”
     You responded by twisting his arm behind his back even harder.
     He winced. “So you didn’t hear then? Paul’s out.”
     No. That couldn’t be true. Paul wasn’t supposed to be out for—
     “Boot, you going to cuff him or not?” Tim called impatiently.
     “Right.” You shook off the stupor and began handcuffing the suspect. Your mind was still on that name, however, and your reflexes were slowed.
     Which is how the suspect was able to rip his arm from your grip and shove you to the ground as he tried to make a break for it.
     Tim tackled him almost immediately, wrestling him into the cuffs that were dangling on one of his wrists where you had started to restrain him, and pushing him towards the shop.
     “Wait, Paul’s got a message for you!” the man hurried out, looking only at you as Tim waked over and shoved him into the backseat. “He said you best watch yourself, because he has connections, and he still hasn’t gotten his revenge. He’s out—and he’s coming for you.”
     “That’s enough, get in the car.” Tim slammed the door shut, and the echo of it rang in your ears as the man’s words played over and over again.
     He’s out, and he’s coming for you.
     “What the hell was that?”
     You looked up to Bradford’s questioning—and furious—face. He offered you a hand and you took it, standing up to face him.
     “Sorry, I—”
     “‘Sorry’ doesn’t stop criminals from escaping,” Tim shouted. “Get your head in the game. You do want to be a cop, don’t you, Boot?”
     “Yes, sir.”
     So much for Tim trusting you. You couldn’t believe you’d almost just let a suspect get away. That had never happened to you before. But, that name—
     Your TO shook his head, walking to the drivers side and opening the door. “You know, I should write you up for that.”
     You noticed his wording. “But you’re not going to?”
     He waited for you to get into the passenger seat before saying,
     “I didn’t say that. First you’re going to tell me what just happened between you two.”
     You flinched. “It—nothing. It was nothing.”
     “Uh-huh. It didn’t sound like nothing. Who’s Paul Cranston?”
     You swallowed hard. “He’s just someone I used to know.”
      A million images flashed through your head. Paul’s face looming over you. The flashing lights and sirens. Waking up in the hospital.
     You shook yourself out of it. You didn’t want to talk about this now. You swore you’d never talk about it again. “Shouldn’t—shouldn’t we get back to the station. Don’t we have to book this guy?”
     Tim sighed, started the car, and re-entered traffic. You breathed a sigh of relief.
     “Control, this is 7-Adam-19. I need an ID on a Paul Cranston,” Tim spoke into his radio.
     And so much for not talking about this now.
     “Can you do that without suspicion of a crime?” You asked him.
     “You can when dispatch loves you.” He winked at you.
     You rolled your eyes at him as the radio began speaking.
     “Paul Cranston: caucasian male, date of birth 8/4/92, recently released on parole, history of theft and domestic violence.”
     Tim turned his gaze to you. “How do you know this man, Boot?”
     “It’s—a long story,” you told him.
     “Well then you better start talking if you want to finish before we reach the station,” Tim commanded, making a left turn.
     “Can’t you just let it go?” You asked him. “It’s really not that big of a deal.”
      He’s out, and he’s coming for you.
     You couldn’t fight the shiver that racked your body.
      Tim’s eyes flicked to you, before returning back to the road. Suddenly, he slammed on the brakes, shifting the car into park before turning to you.
     “If this is another one of your ‘I’m dying, where are we’ tests—”
     “Boot, focus,” Tim barked.
     “With all due respect, sir, I don’t think it’s really any of your concern if—”
     “Of course it’s my concern!” Tim shouted. His expression was so intense, you squirmed under his gaze and you felt your face heat.
     He looked torn for a moment, before sighing and saying, “It’s my job as your TO to train you to the best of my abilities, and I can’t do that if you’re withholding information that may affect your performance as an officer.”
     “Fine,” you breathed. “It was a long time ago. I was 18, Paul and I met freshman year of college. We started dating and things were fine, good even, for a while.”
     “Until?” Tim prompted.
     “Until he got pissed one night because I caught him coming home really late with a ski mask and a bag full of stolen cash. Cliche, right?”
     You looked to Tim, but his expression was as stony as ever and you continued.
     “Apparently, he’d been stealing since high school and turns out he’d lied to me about working in retail and a whole bunch of other stuff. I threatened to call the police if he didn’t stop and—”
     You took a deep breath, steeling yourself.
You watched the houses and trees and cars pass by as you drove towards the station.
     “—and he hit me. It didn't stop after that—once he knew he could get away with it. He said if I ever told anyone—about the robberies, the beatings—that he’d kill me. And I let him go on like that for months. I was so scared that if I called anyone, he’d make good on his promise.”
     Tim’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, his fingers turning white, but he didn’t speak.
     “But then, one night, it got so bad that I thought he might actually kill me anyway. So I waited until he left the room for a minute and I called 911. He was arrested and—and that’s all I remember before I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital the next morning.”
     You kept your voice even, trying not to let the emotion show through your story. You were just recounting facts. This was almost 10 years ago, and you’d moved on with your life.
     But reliving it all was hard, even after so much time had passed.
     “It’s actually why I joined the academy,” you finished. “I wanted to save people, the way the officers that night did for me.”
     You were both silent for a moment.
     A muscle in Tim’s jaw ticked. “Does the department know?”
     “Yeah,” you sighed. “It’s all part of my file.”
     “And the guy back there?”
     You shrugged, glancing back at the suspect and lowering your voice. “He must be one of Paul’s partners or goons or—I don’t know. I guess he’s been in contact with him since he was released, if he knows what I look like.”
     The thought made your skin crawl.
     “I don’t know what came over me,” you kept going. “It’s been years, I just—I didn’t expect to hear about him out of the blue from a criminal on the street, you know? But, I promise it won’t happen again.”
     Tim ignored that. “Do you think it was an empty threat?”
     “I don’t know,” you admitted. “But I sure as hell hope so.”
     Bradford was silent for a long moment, his expression tense.
     The radio crackled to life. “7-Adam-19, we have a 215 in progress near your area, 239 West Armston Street. Respond.”
     “Negative,” Bradford answered the dispatch call.
     You stared at him, shocked. “Why aren’t we taking that? We can drop this guy off afterwards.”
     “Yeah, I agree,” the suspect chimed in from the backseat. “I think you should take that first.”
      Tim payed him no attention. “They’ll have someone else over there in minutes. We have more important things to do.”
     “You’re not even going to ask me if I know what a 215 is?” You joked. Tim never passed up an opportunity to quiz you.
     “What’s a 215, Boot?”
     “Carjacking.”
     “Correct.” Tim nodded. “And we’re going to have a talk with Sergeant Grey.”
₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚
    “Paul Cranston, released on parole from a thirteen year sentence three days ago, currently believed to be residing in the Woodland Hills area.”
     You sat in the briefing room, surrounded by other officers, as Sergeant Grey read out your ex-boyfriend’s file. You stared into Paul’s face on the screen, his mugshot visible from all angles.
     Bradford stood near the front of the room, leaning against the wall.
      “The department is aware of Officer (Y/l/n)’s history with Mr. Cranston,” Grey continued. “And will take necessary action should the situation progress.”
      “So, what’s the course of action here?” Tim crossed his arms.
     “I’m afraid, as of now, there isn’t one,” Grey said. “Since there is no direct proof against Paul Cranston, we’d essentially be taking the word of a petty thief and wasting resources on what most likely was a desperate attempt to escape arrest. The department doesn’t exactly consider it a threat.”
    “Doesn’t consider it a threat?” Tim’s voice was low and dangerous. “How about a charge for threatening an officer?”
    “But Paul didn’t threaten an officer,” you sighed, thinking. “The armed robbery suspect did.”
     “Exactly, Officer (Y/l/n),” Grey agreed. “Basically, our hands are tied.”
     “Then untie them,” Bradford snapped, beginning to pace. “There’s gotta be some technicality we can get him on. Violation of parole, conspiring with a felon, failure to—”
     “That’s enough, Officer Bradford,” The sergeant fixed your TO with a firm look. “I appreciate your concern for (Y/l/n)’s safety, but we’ve done all we can do. And, for now, that’s nothing.”
      Tim’s concern for your safety. That thought had been in the back of your mind since the ride to the station. You couldn’t figure out why Tim was so determined about this. You supposed you were his rookie and was his job to look out for you. It was just, up until now, he hadn’t exactly done anything to make you believe he’d care so much.
     “Failure to take action could be endangering one of our officers,” Tim said, his jaw clenched. “Who’s to say this guy won’t make good on his threat? At least increase security at (Y/l/n)’s residence.”
     “Tim, its fine,” you said, your voice firm. “Let it go.”
     They were making a big enough deal about this already. It probably was just a case of a criminal trying anything to get free. You doubted Paul even cared about what happened to you anymore. He probably never wanted to see you again—and that was a good thing.
     But, then, you couldn’t get those words out of your head.
     He’s out and he’s coming for you.
     Bradford turned to you, his chest rising and falling. He looked so…resolved. Like he did when chasing down a suspect or that time when you’d walked in on him in the training rooms.
     Images of Tim shirtless, the muscles in his back tight as he pushed himself harder filled your head and you quickly shook them away. Definitely not the time.
   “We’ll send a surveillance team to Paul’s location in the morning,” Grey said, turning to address you. “But for now the best thing you can do is to go home, get some sleep, and not let this rattle you. Understood?”
     “Yes, Sergeant.”
     “Good. Because the last thing the L.A.P.D needs is a cop who lets their personal life get in the way of their ability to do their job in any way that’s less than exemplary. I trust that’s not the case?”
     You glanced to Bradford, certain he was going to mention your mistake with the suspect earlier.
     “No, Sir,” Tim said instead. “My rookies don’t do ‘less than exemplary’. Don’t worry about (Y/l/n)—she’s proved to me she has what it takes to be an officer.”
     “Glad to hear it. Shift over. Everybody else, back to work,” Sergeant Grey waved everyone away.
     You walked towards the front of the room, hearing grumbled complaints about midnight shift from the unlucky officers who still had to do patrol as you did so.
     You stopped in front of your TO. His eyes were on you, his brow drawn in something that looked like concern.
     “Thanks,” you said. You couldn’t believe he’d told Grey all that—it was the most complimentary thing he’d said about you in your whole time riding with him.
     “I didn’t say anything that wasn’t true,” Tim stated, shrugging. “I expect you to live up to any praise I’ve given you.”
     “Yes, sir,” you nodded, almost smiling.
     “Besides, you’re being trained by me. You’d have to be royally screwed up not to become one of the best on the force.”
     “And he’s humble too,” you teased. “But I’m going to take that as a compliment.”
     “Whatever, Boot.” Tim smiled, shaking his head.
     “Be nonchalant all you want,” you said, feeling brave. “I know you like me.”
     For a brief moment, Tim looked like you’d slapped him. But then, the flash of—whatever that was—was gone and his expression was replaced by one of cold indifference.
     “In your TO not your friend, (Y/l/n),” he stated. “It’s not about liking you. It’s about training you.”
      You sighed inwardly. Just when you thought you were making ground with Tim, he treated you like you’d just met. “Of course, how could I forget.”
     Tim stayed silent.
    “Well, I should head out,” you told him, “I’ve got a busy night ahead me. You know, trying not to get killed by my ex and all.”
     You’d meant it as a joke, to make light of the situation that left you feeling more uneasy than you’d care to admit. Tim, however, just shook his head and brushed past you, out of the briefing room.
     You stood there for a moment, trying to work through what had just happened, before turning around and taking a step in the other direction. Only to find Officers Lopez and Bishop standing in front of you, staring between you and Tim’s retreating figure.
     “So how’d you do it?” Bishop looked you up and down.
     “Do what?” You asked, confused.
     “Get Tim wrapped around your finger,” Lopez answered for her, smirking.
     You felt your eyes widen. “Tim’s not—”
     “Please,” Lopez put her hands on her hips. “I’ve watched him train dozens of rookies and he’s never stood up for any of them like that. So naturally I figured you’re either blackmailing him or sleeping with him.”
     You blanched, feeling the heat rush to your cheeks as you let what Angela said sink in. You knew she was just teasing you, but the statement caught you off guard. You imagined you and Tim—together. It wasn’t necessarily an unpleasant thought. And then you realized what you were thinking and you chided yourself, hurriedly un-imagining it.
     “No, that’s not—neither one of those things,” you answered quickly. “Trust me, Tim doesn’t give me any special treatment, if that’s what you’re implying. I actually can’t tell if he hates me half of the time.”
     “We’re not implying anything,” Bishop replied. “Only observing. And he doesn’t hate you.”
     “How can you possibly know that?” You were suddenly insecure. You still held on to a secret dread that you were going to wildly disappoint Tim—that you already had. Sure, there was all the stuff he had just said. But there was also months of him being hard on you and saying that you weren’t friends.
     “Because I’ve seen him hate plenty of people,” Bishop spoke. “And he definitely didn’t look at them the way he looks at you.”
      The way Tim looked at you? You weren’t aware he looked at you in a way that was different from the way he looked at anyone else at the station.
     “What are you guys trying to say?” You asked them.
     “I’m saying watch out,” Bishop raised an eyebrow. “Because Tim might like you more than he’s willing to let you—or himself—in on.”
     Could there be any truth to what the two officers were saying? Was it wrong for a small part of you to hope there was?
     “Um, ok,” you said, blinking. “I’ll keep that in mind, thanks.”
     “Don’t believe us if you want, it’s your call,” Bishop shrugged, backing up. “But I’m telling you, you mean something to Tim that the rest of us can only guess at.”
     And with that she walked out of the room.
    “Bishop can be intense,” Angela said when the woman was out of earshot. “She’s got that whole ‘anti-cops-dating’ thing going on—but I do think she’s right about this. Tim’s tough, and I’m sure he gives you hell—but it’s not because he doesn’t like you. I actually think it’s quite the opposite. ”
     Was there really something that everyone saw between you and Tim except for you? You still couldn’t even entertain the thought that Tim had feelings for you that were more than TO and rookie.
     “Well you’ve certainly left me with a lot to think about,” you said finally.
     “Then I’ll let you start thinking—you’re welcome for the peace of mind.”
     You wouldn’t have used the phrase peace of mind, yourself. Sure, it was nice to know that the officers who had known your TO for years were confident that he didn’t look down on you. But, this conversation also had left your head swimming with conflicting thoughts about Tim that you didn’t feel like dealing with right now.
     “And take care,” Lopez said knowingly. “We have your back if anything happens.”
      With that, your thoughts slammed back to the current situation.
    “Right, that. You—you think something’s going to happen?” You asked, trying to sound casual.
     “I think in this job we have to be prepared for the worst,” she corrected. “But I also think that bastard would have to be pretty stupid to mess with you.”
     She smiled at you and you smiled back. After watching her leave, you followed her path, heading towards the locker rooms.
     You thought about what she had said about you and Tim, about Paul.
     You hoped she was right—you just couldn’t say which you hoped she was more right about.
₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚
     Your thoughts bounced between your conversation with Talia and Angela and the message from your ex as you walked to your car minutes later.
     When you woke up this morning, you thought the most stressful part of your day would’ve been a police chase or a shootout.  You never would’ve expected it to be my ex-boyfriend is out of jail and could be hunting me down and my training officer might have feelings for me.
     Funny how things could change so fast.
     Suddenly, you heard a bang. You spun around quickly, your heart in your throat. But it was only a car door being slammed shut from across the parking lot.
     Get a grip, you told yourself.
     You rounded the corner, running a hand through your hair.
     You stopped. Tim was leaning against the side of your car, arms crossed in front of his chest. He looked you up and down.
     “What are you doing?” You asked.
     “Driving you home, Boot,” Tim said. “Get in the car.”
     “Tim, you don’t have to—”
     “That wasn’t a question, give me the keys.”
     There was no point in fighting him. Besides, there was a small part of you that didn’t really want to fight him.
     You tossed him the keys to your car and got in the passenger seat with a sigh.
     Tim started the engine.
     “If this is about Paul, this really isn’t necessary,” you said after you’d been driving for several minutes and the silence became too much. “I can handle myself. I am an officer, in case you forgot.”
     “You’re a rookie,” Tim corrected, eyes never leaving the road. “And if the department won’t do anything, then I will.”
     “What—we’re not going to go looking for him, are we?” You asked.
     “Of course not,” Tim scoffed. “I’m not a vigilante, Boot. Where do you live?”
     “Take a left at the light,” you guided.
     Neither of you talked for the remainder of the drive, save your occasional directions. When you pointed out your apartment building, Tim parked the car and handed you the keys.
     “Thanks,” you mumbled to him as you got out of the car, grabbing your bag and heading towards the building.
     You heard a door shut behind you and turned to find your TO standing on the sidewalk, an eyebrow raised.
     “You didn’t think I was just going to let you spend the night alone with a target on your head, did you, Boot?”
     “Tim—”
     “No more protests,” he said firmly. “As your TO, I—”
     “No, I was just going to say that if you were planning on staying here, why couldn’t I have just driven my own car?”
     “I don’t let my rookies drive,” Tim walked past you and to the front door. “Even off-duty.”
     You followed him quickly, getting out your key and letting you both in.
     When you reached your apartment you did a quick scan of the space—it wasn’t exactly like you’d been expecting company, much less your training officer. You cringed at the messiness.
      “How many entrances and exits are there?” Bradford asked.
     “Um, just the front door. And there’s windows in the kitchen and the bedroom,” you said.
     You skimmed past everything in the place, looking towards the window in your bedroom. Your eye caught on one of your bras hanging from your bedpost. You quickly ran over and shut the door, blushing and hoping Tim hadn’t noticed.
     “Please, Boot,” Tim made a face. “It’s nothing I haven’t already seen before.”
     “Ok no offense, but I usually don’t let guys see my bra the first time I bring them to my place,” you joked.
     “If that’s an offer, I’m going to have to politely decline.”
     “What—no,” you hurried out, worried your voice sounded wrong. “I just meant—”
    Tim interrupted. “I’m going to do a sweep of the place, make sure everything’s as it should be.”
     “Is that really needed?”
     “I’m not taking any chances.” He left the room and you sunk down onto the couch, letting your bag fall to the floor.
     Your TO returned a few minutes later. “All clear.”
     “See, everything’s fine,” you said, speaking just as much to yourself as you were to Tim.
     “Well,” Bradford started, amusement in his eyes. “I wouldn’t say everything is fine. Your storage closet’s a fire hazard.”
     Had Tim Bradford just made a joke?
     “I’ll be sure not to exit through the closet in the events of a fire,” you said sarcastically. “And if you keep insulting my living space, I’m going to be forced to kick you out.”
     “Bold for someone whose career I could end.”
     “You can’t end my career for that,” you shot back. Paused. “Can you?”
     Tim raised his eyebrows.
     “Only one way to find out,” you said enthusiastically, teasing him now. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Don’t let the closet trap you on the way out.
     “Nice try, Boot. But you’re still stuck with me for,” Tim checked his watch. “eight hours.”
     “Nine hours,” you corrected. You had to leave for work in nine hours.
     “You’re right, I should get us drinks,” Tim joked.
     You rolled you eyes and he shot you a look. “Help yourself to anything in the fridge.”
     Tim got up, disappearing into the kitchen.
     “Is all you own ginger ale, Boot?” He called.
     “There’s six year old tequila in the cupboard,” you suggested.
     “Ginger ale it is.”
      Tim joined you in the living room again, carrying two bottles. He handed one to you, sitting down on the opposite side of the couch.
     You noted the careful distance he put between you.
     “What’s this thing made of, Boot? Plywood?” Tim asked, inspecting the couch.
     You smothered a laugh.
     “Get comfortable. It’s where you’re sleeping,” you answered.
     “Won’t be necessary. If you’re not awake you’re not aware.”
     “So, what, we’re taking shifts on guard like this is a stakeout?” You asked.
     “Don’t be ridiculous. I didn’t come here to sleep.”
     “Tim I can’t let you stay up all night while I’m unconscious.” you sighed.
     “You can if it’s an order. Besides, no offense, but rookies are historically less vigilant and have a slower response time…”
     You tried not to take offense at that. “Right, Eagle Eye.”
     Tim glared at you.
     “Angela told me.”
     “Of course she did. And at least I didn’t leave valuable evidence on the street to chase after a dog wearing a top hat.”
     “Sparky could’ve been involved in the crime,” you said, indignant. “And that was one time!”
     “One time too many,” Tim mumbled, lifting the bottle to his lips, his eyes sparkling.
     “Ok, so when you were a rookie you were, what, perfect?” You shot back.
     “Damn straight.” Tim nodded.
     “You made no mistakes, at all?” You prompted.
     “Well,” Tim took a sip of his drink. “There was one thing.”
     “Aside from the graffiti incident?”
     “That wasn’t a mistake because it wasn’t my fault. I was following direct orders and—you know what, never mind. If you don’t want to hear it—”
     “No, no, I do!” you scooted towards the edge of your seat in anticipation. “And none of that ‘I worked too hard and too efficiently’ crap.”
     “Wouldn’t dream of it,” he said sarcastically. “My first week on the job I was put on paperwork duty, which was—”
     “Boring and tedious? I can imagine,” you deadpanned, having been put in charge of paperwork by Tim many times.
     “I was going to say necessary and a valuable skill to have,” Bradford corrected. “But anyways, we had just got done booking a couple suspects and I was working on the reports. A triple homicide and a prostitution case. It was a long day and I was tired and I guess I got sloppy—”
     “You? Sloppy?” You interrupted.
     “Do you want me to tell you this story or not?”
     “Right, sorry. Continue.”
     Tim did. “I’d just finished tagging the evidence for both cases and when I was filling everything out I somehow got the numbers mixed up. Long story short, according to my report, the homicide gun ended up being linked to the prostitution case and the weapon allegedly used in the triple homicide was…a pair of pink, fluffy handcuffs.”
      You couldn’t stop the laugh that escaped you now.
     “Forensics caught it before it was sent to the judge, thank god,” Bradford sighed. “But the next day when I was getting ready for my shift, I was greeted by dozens of similar handcuffs in my locker—apparently Smitty has a guy.”
     “Tell me you kept them,” you begged, pulling your knees up to your chest.
     “Of course not!”
     Tim blinked.
     “Well, not all of them—Isabel made me take a pair home. I found out later that she was the one who orchestrated the whole prank. She used to do stuff like that all the time before she, uh,—”
     “Tim—”
     You’d heard about Bradford’s ex-wife. How she’d become an addict, gotten herself mixed up with bad people. You knew how much it had affected Tim, even if he hadn’t said so.
     She was in rehab now, getting her life back together. You were glad she was finally getting the help she needed. Still, you knew how much she meant to Tim. How much it had hurt him to move on from her and let her start a new life without him.
     “I’m fine.” Tim said firmly, clearing his throat. “It’s good to talk about her…before. She’s on the right path now.”
     You stared at the ground in front of you, picking at your fingernails.
     “Are you still in love with her?” The question was out of your mouth before you could stop it. You didn’t know why you asked—didn’t know why you cared what the answer was. Ten minutes ago you wouldn’t have even dared to ask that question.
     But he was being so uncharacteristically open and you seemed to be getting along well. You reluctantly brought your eyes up to Tim.
     His eyes had gone wide. He looked like he wanted to leave or yell at you or both, and you immediately regretted it.
     But then his eyes softened and he opened his mouth. “No. I’ll always care about her and she’ll always be someone that I did love. But relationships change—people change.”
     You nodded. “I get it—I mean, I’m kind of rusty on relationships—but I get it. I actually haven’t dated anyone since Paul. I guess it was just hard to trust someone after that. I kind of sabotaged any relationship that had any chance of starting.”
     It was the first time you’d admitted that to anyone. You wouldn’t have pegged Tim as being so easy to talk to. You had almost forgotten about the whole Paul situation before you’d just brought him up. You had been enjoying hanging out with Tim, no matter the circumstances. He was actually pleasant to be around when he wasn’t on the clock.
     You imagined this happening more often—you and Tim, not just coworkers but friends. Maybe even more. Maybe this was one relationship you didn’t have to end before it started.
     You dared to let yourself think about it. You watched Tim process your words. Saw the emotion clearly written in his face as he looked at you intensely.
     “Hey, thanks again for not letting me be alone tonight,” you told him, you’re voice soft.
     “Don’t take it personally, Boot,” he said. “My house is being repainted and even your place beats breathing in paint fumes all night.”
     “I’m honored,” you laughed, rolling your eyes. “But you have to admit this has been fun—hanging out.”
     Your little impromptu sleepover. You smiled.
     Tim, however, looked like a switch had been flipped inside of him. You watched as he clenched his jaw, leaning almost imperceptibly away from you
     “Listen, Boot—”
     He was cut off by the sound of breaking glass and a loud thumping sound.
     You both shot up off the couch, abandoning your drinks. Tim’s hand went to his gun. You did the same.
     Tim turned to you. “Stay here.”
     “Like hell,” you shot back, following him as he started to do a sweep of the main room.
     If that sound was someone—Paul—breaking in, you weren’t going to sit here and let Bradford fight your battles for you.
     He signaled to let you know he was moving to the kitchen. You nodded, following.
     “Clear,” he muttered, and moved on towards the bathroom. You were right behind him when you heard another noise, like the muffled sound of scraping of furniture, and you spun around.
     The bedroom. It was the only room in that direction that you hadn’t checked yet.
     You glanced to Tim, but he hadn’t heard it. He was a few feet ahead of you, just now entering the bathroom.
     You slowly stepped away from him and made your way across the apartment, down the hall and over to the closed bedroom door.
     Holding your weapon in one hand, you opened the door with the other. But, you barely had time to see what was on the other side before you were grabbed and a cloth was shoved into your mouth.
     Your gun was ripped from your hand, and you were pushed hard onto the ground. Your wrist burned where you landed on shards of glass from the broken window
     Something smacked into the back of your head and you were dragged and thrown onto the bed on the corner. You heard the door shut.
     Squinting up into the light, rubbing your throbbing head, your heart dropped as you saw who was in front of you.
     “Did you miss me?” Paul sneered, spinning your gun in his hand.
     You froze. Everything crashed into you at once. The events of the last time you saw your ex-boyfriend sped through your mind. Suddenly, you were scared and 18 again, at the mercy of this man.
     “I guess you got my man’s message,” Paul continued. “Because you don’t exactly look shocked to see me. Scared, of course, but not shocked.”
     Coming back to yourself, you scrambled up onto your knees, ready to knock him out.
     Paul shook his head, laughing. “No, no. If you move even an inch I’ll shoot you right in the forehead.”
     You sat back down, your heart thumping in your chest as you scanned the room for a way out. Some way to get the upper hand on him. You had been trained for this.
     “Listen to me,” he continued, his hand coming to the gag in your mouth. You flinched away from him. “I know there’s someone in here with you. If you try to scream to alert them, I will also shoot you.  I’d like to play with you first before I put a bullet in your brain but, hey, I’m not picky. Is that clear?”
     You nodded, trying to measure how fast you could knock the weapon out of his hand before he could take a shot at you. Paul took the cloth out of you mouth.
     You gasped in air. “Backup’s going to be in here any second and then you’re going back to prison.”
     Tim would notice you were gone. He had to.
     “Oh, I don’t think so,” Paul smiled. “I’ll be long gone and you’ll be long dead before that happens.”
     You glanced towards the door. What was taking him so long?
     Suddenly, Paul reached forwards and gripped your face in his hand. “Just as beautiful as I remember. It was such a shame things had to end with us as they did. How did that happen again? Oh, that’s right. You betrayed me.”
     “And that was the best decision I ever made,” you spat.
     Paul backed up, shaking his head. “You’ve gotten feistier, baby. It’ll make this so much more fun for me.”
     He stepped back towards you, his face inches from yours, sneering. “This’ll be just like old times.”
     Bam! The door to your bedroom busted open. Bradford rushed in, taking in the situation. You breathed a sigh of relief.
     “Get down on the ground!” Tim growled.
     Paul froze for only a second, fear flashing across his face, but it was enough. You lunged, wrestling the gun out of his hands, your wrist protesting.
     You trained it on him. Paul was surrounded.
     “You have five seconds to get on the ground before I shoot you,” Tim bit out, his expression murderous.
     “Come on, baby, you’re not going to let Officer Buzzkill treat me like that, are you?” Paul appealed to you.
     You leveled your gaze on him, ignoring his words. “You heard him. Get on the ground.”
     Paul slowly knelt, never taking his eyes off of you. Tim charged him, pulling out handcuffs and locking them around his wrists.
    You took a moment to be amused—of course Tim had off-duty cuffs.
    “So this ends the way it starts, huh?” Paul shook his head. “You getting me locked up?”
     “Just like old times,” you echoed his earlier statement. You stayed stoic, putting your hands on your hips to hide the way they shook.
    Anger sparked in Paul’s eyes before he took on a smug expression. “You’re right. You’re the same girl you were when I met you. You haven’t changed a bit.”
     “Don’t listen to him, Boot,” Tim warned hauling the man up off the ground.
     “You know I’m right,” Paul’s manic eyes bore into yours. He was enjoying every moment of this, laughter in his tone. It took all that was in you to keep your expression blank, unaffected. “You’ll always be that person I knew—the person who loved me. Because you did—love me. You could’ve walked away. But you didn’t. You just took it all like the victim you are. You pathetic bitch—”
      He was cut off abruptly as Tim slammed him face-first against the wall. Paul cried out.
     “That’s enough!” Tim shouted. “If you ever threaten—no, if you even look at (Y/l/n) again, I will hunt you down and personally remove every external limb from your body, do you understand me? (Y/n) is a million times the person you will ever be and you don’t get to make her feel small. If I didn’t think sitting in a cell for the rest of your life was a worse fate, I’d kill you right now—screw the department.”
     Your ears were ringing, your head dizzy as you tried to ground yourself. Your voice came out tiny. “Tim, stop.”
     Bradford turned to you, almost as if he had forgotten you were in the room. He was breathing hard, his fists clenched around the man in custody.
     “And she’s not a victim,” Tim whispered, turning back to Paul, his voice right by his ear. “She’s a survivor.”
     With that, he shoved Paul back to the ground and moved over to you, his eyes roaming over your face. Your body. He took the gun out of your hands, setting it on the desk. Then, he gripped your injured wrist and you winced as he inspected it.
     “Probably hurts like hell, but you won’t need stitches. Any other injuries?”
     “Um, he hit me in the back of the head,” you felt your scalp, a lump already forming.
     Tim’s hands moved to your hair, his touch gentle, his breath on your cheek as he leaned to get a better look.
     Your own breath caught, your heart racing at the intimacy of your position.
     “What’s the damage?” You almost whispered.
     Tim’s eyes met yours, the heat of his stare spreading through your body. “You’ll have a nasty bruise, but there’s no external bleeding.”
     Tim stepped back, and you found yourself wishing he hadn’t.
     “Are you—are you ok, Boot?” He asked carefully.
     How did you even answer that question? You were still in shock, unable to process what had just happened.
     “I will be,” you settled on, breathing in slowly. Exhaling.
      Tim looked like he wanted to say more but he clenched his jaw, glancing in the direction of Paul, who had been uncharacteristically silent. Maybe he had finally accepted his defeat.
     “I’m going to call for back up, you go clean that up,” Tim gestured to the blood covering your wrist where you had landed in the broken glass. “You need help?”
     “No, I got it,” You nodded, walking towards the bathroom as you heard Tim make the call.
     “911, what’s your emergency?”
     “This is off-duty officer Tim Bradford, badge 34831. I need a unit to my location for a 126. Suspect in custody. Code 4.”
      Tim’s voice faded as you made your way down the hall, shutting the bathroom door after you to access the medicine cabinet behind it.
     You took out the necessary supplies and began cleaning the wound. You stopped in front of the sink, letting your burning eyes close for a moment, massaging your temples.
     Now that you were alone, you let yourself collapse, bracing your hands against the counter
     Images flooded your senses.
     The gag. Paul hitting you from behind. You, young and frightened, huddled on the ground. That gleam in his eyes.
     Your eyes snapped open, your breath coming out fast.
     He’s in custody. You told yourself. He can’t hurt you anymore.
     You looked at your reflection in the mirror staring wearily back at you, your hands still shaking as you brushed your hair back from your face. Was it hot in here or was it just you?
      Turning your attention back to your wrist, you took a deep breath and continued to dab at the wound.
      You reached for the bandages on the counter. A sheen of sweat broke out on your forehead as you wrapped your arm.
      You pictured Paul’s grip on you. His words rang in your ears.
     You’re the same girl you were when I met you. You haven’t changed a bit.
     The room tilted. You swayed on your feet so you sunk down to the ground, leaning your head against the cabinet, the cool wood pressing against your head.
     You tried to slow your erratic breathing but you couldn’t. You couldn’t—
     The sound of footsteps and voices carried through the door. You were vaguely aware that it was probably the backup here to take Paul away.
     You closed your eyes, your throat tight, you pulse thundering in your ears.
     I’m ok, you tried to tell yourself. I’m ok. I’m ok.
     You were unaware how long you sat like this. You had no concept of time. Your thoughts were wild, images flashing in and out, unable to form conscious ideas. Every breath sending a sharp pain through your body.
     “Boot?”
     The muffled voice was closer than the others had been.
     “Boot?” The voice was louder now. You registered Tim at the door. He knocked once. Twice.
     “Boot, I’m coming in,” he shouted, his voice laced with worry. The door was shoved open.
     “Dammit,” he cursed, seeing your state. You felt him getting closer to you, but you didn’t look up as he knelt by you, his concerned expression taking in yours.
     “Hey, look at me,” Tim coaxed. “(Y/l/n), breathe.”
     He seemed miles and miles away. There was a pause.
     “Hey, Boot, I got another test for you,” he spoke quickly, gently placing a hand on your shoulder. “I want you to tell me the most annoying person we work with.”
     “What?” You rasped, barely hearing him.
    “Bishop’s an easy target,” he said. “And Lopez is a slob, so you can’t go wrong there. West’s got the whole daddy issues thing. Don’t even get me started on Nolan—”
     You swallowed hard, your mouth feeling dry.
     “And then there’s me. I mean, I’m annoying right?”
     You breathed a shaky laugh, opening your eyes slowly.
     Tim smiled. “Oh so you agree? It’s ok, Boot, you can say me. Go ahead, I can take it.”
     When you didn’t say anything, Tim kept talking. “Personally I’d go for Detective Coleman. The man makes double what I do and I’m convinced he doesn’t own a decent looking tie.”
     “L-like the—the green one from last week,” you managed, trying to slow your breathing.
     “Leprechauns would call it tacky,” Tim agreed. “Now, since we’ve discussed this from all angles I’m going to need you to choose wisely. Because this is going to go on your evaluation for today.”
     You gulped. “Are—are you going to get me fired if I say you?”
     Tim let out a quiet, relieved laugh. “I knew it. Guess who’s going back to long-sleeves on Monday?”
     “In this heat wave? You—you wouldn’t dare,” you joked, sniffing.
     “I don’t know, I am the most annoying person you work with—sounds like something I might do.”
     You laughed again, this time the sound coming out less strained. You focused on taking deep breaths, feeling your heart rate return to normal.
     “There you go.” Tim stood up, offering his hand to you for the second time that day. You gripped his arm as he pulled you up onto shaky legs.
     “Thanks,” you mumbled, embarrassed to have had your TO see you like this now that your head was clearer.
     “For what, doing my job?”
     You smiled weakly at him, running a hand along your forehead. “Sorry for um—”
     “Having a normal reaction to a highly emotional situation? Don’t apologize for being human,” Tim said firmly, his forehead creased.
     “So, he’s gone?” You’re voice came out small.
     Tim’s expression softened. “He’s gone.”
     You nodded again, looking at the floor.  Tim sighed, reaching an arm out. “Come here.”
You took a step towards him and then you were in his arms, his embrace strengthening you as he rubbed your back. You stood there like that, not wanting this to end. Not wanting to put distance between you again. Finally, he pulled back and looked down at you, his gaze weighted, before taking a few steps towards the door. You looked over Tim’s shoulder.
     “Hey, (Y/n), look at me.” Tim said. You brought your gaze up to meet his. “He is never going to hurt you again, ok? I’ll make sure of that.”
      You let your eyes fall closed, feeling ashamed that you had been so affected. That Tim had to handle all of this for you. “I know. And I’ll understand if after…all this, you don’t see me fit to—to be a police officer anymore.”
     Tim’s eyes hardened, his voice hardening with them. “With all do respect, Boot, that’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever said. I meant every word of what I said back there—you’re a survivor. All I saw tonight is that you are a brave and intelligent woman who just so happens to have a scumbag of an ex-boyfriend. Don’t let it define you because then he wins. You’re a great cop, (Y/l/n). It’s rookies like you who make the force as strong as it is.”
     You listened to Tim speak. He sounded so…passionate. Bishop’s words came back to you.
     Tim might like you more than he’s willing to let you—or himself—in on.
     You desperately wanted that to be true, now more than ever. He’d been so kind to you in this past hour—staying with you, rescuing you, reassuring you, bringing you back from whatever dark place you had just been in.
     And then this. Talking about you like he…like he really cared about you. And maybe it was just because he felt like as your training officer he had to protect you. But in the moment, it felt like maybe it could be more than that.
    “So what I’m hearing is, I’m getting a promotion?” You teased finally, brushing your hair back from your damp face, breaking the silence.
     Bradford put up a hand. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, you still have a lot to learn from me.”
     You sighed. This was normal, this was comfortable. How you and Tim always acted with each other. You were both relieved and disappointed at the change back into familiar territory.
     You ran a hand through your hair, stifling a yawn. Saying today had been a long day would’ve been the understatement of the century.
     “Now come on,” Tim flicked his head in the direction of the door. “It’s way past my bedtime.”
     “Let me guess, nine p.m. sharp every night?” You teased.
     “That’s not true.”
     You raised an eyebrow at him.
     “Nine-thirty,” he admitted.
     You giggled, following Tim out of the bathroom and into the hallway which led to the living room.
     You glanced at your bedroom as you passed it, trying not to think about what had happened in there. It was over now, you told yourself.
     “Since my room is kind of a crime scene, I guess we’re both crashing out here,” you sighed, gesturing to the couch.
      Silence filled the room and you immediately realized your mistake, cheeks flaming.
     “Or, right, I guess you can go now. Danger’s over.”
     “Are you kidding?” Tim said. “And get to bed even later? I’m not going anywhere.”
     You stepped into the living room. You were glad Tim was staying. You felt safer with him here, even though you knew it was irrational.
     “I’ll get the blankets and stuff,” you said, turning back the way you’d came.
     “Let me go with you,” Tim offered.
     “I would but they’re in the closet and I don’t want it to trap you or something,” you said.
     “You think I can’t take a closet full of your crap? Bring it on,” Tim challenged and you led him down the hall.
     A few minutes later you returned to the living room, blankets and pillows in tow. Tim helped you pull out the couch bed—you were grateful you’d opted for this couch instead of a regular one—and you stood back, admiring your work.
     “Take the couch,” you told him. “It was your bed originally.”
     “Not gonna happen.” Tim crossed his arms. “It’s your house. And you’re injured.”
     “I’m fine. And where are you going to sleep? The floor?” You asked him.
     Tim scanned the room and then sat down on the chair across from the couch-turned-bed.
     “Are you sure you’re ok on that?” You asked. It didn’t exactly look comfortable for spending hours on.
     “Trust me, Boot, you got the short end of the stick. Have fun sleeping on plywood.”
      You smiled. “So, what, you’re just going to sit over there and watch me sleep?”
     “I can leave, if you’re—”
     “No,” you’re voice came out faster and more sharp than you’d intended. “I mean, you came all this way, I don’t want you to have to get an Uber home at this hour.”
     You climbed into bed, aware that you were still in your clothes, but not caring enough to change.
     “We should get some sleep, it’s been a long night,” Tim sighed. He got up and turned the lights off, darkness filling the room.
     “Damn, boot,” you heard Tim’s voice even though you couldn’t see him anymore. “It’s pitch black in here. You don’t sleep with a light or anything?”
     “Well I don’t usually sleep in my living room,” you pointed out. Then you stifled a laugh. “Wait a minute. Is Officer Tim Bradford afraid of the dark?”
     Tim scoffed. “I’m not afraid of the dark.”
     “Your secret’s safe with me,” you teased.
     “There is no secret,” Tim shot back.
     You winked. “Exactly.”
     “You’re impossible.”
     “Thank you.” You smiled.
     The room fell silent. You heard him sit back down.
     You laid back, staring up at the ceiling. The seconds ticked by.
    “Do you—do you think he really would’ve shot me?” You asked, finally.
     “I don’t know,” Tim admitted. “He clearly thought you guys had unfinished business. But guys like that get high on fear—on desperation. He couldn’t have that if you were dead. In his mind, he’d be losing his power over you.”
     He paused.
     “Besides, I don’t think he would’ve gotten the chance,” Tim said. “He clearly underestimated the badass-ness of his opponent.”
     You snorted. “Did you just say ‘badass-ness’?”
     “It’s a word!” Tim defended.
     You laughed, turning over on your side.
     “But seriously, if you ever need anything, you can always talk to me,” Tim said, sounding earnest. “I mean it.”
     “I may just take you up on that,” you responded. “Do you tell that to all your rookies?”
     You could barely make out Tim’s frame in the dark. “No, not all of them.”
     “I’m going to take that as I’m special,” you said.
     Your next words were out of your mouth before you could stop them.
    “You know, Lopez and Bishop had this crazy idea that you had feelings for me,” you said, staring up at the ceiling. “But I told them it was just that—crazy.”
     Tim didn’t speak.
     “It is crazy right?” You asked. You had to know. He still was silent. “Right?”
     “Boot, look—” Bradford started. His voice came out rough, as if he hadn’t talked in days. Your heartbeat was a deafening roar in your ears.
     “Tim?”
     You could hear more than see Tim’s movements. He stood, pacing the length of the room. Sat back down. Stood up again. Sat.
     “Dammit, Boot, I can’t do this,” he finished. “I can’t do this right now, (Y/n).”
     Your pulse quickened. He hadn’t denied it.
     You stood up.
     And maybe it was having to deny your attraction to your TO for seven months. Maybe it was the adrenaline still coursing through your veins from the attack earlier. Maybe it was because the darkness felt safe and secret—made you feel like you could do anything. Maybe you were just too eager after his small encouragement—or, lack of discouragement.
     But, whatever the reason, you walked over to where Tim sat, kneeled down, looked into his confused, strained eyes, and kissed him.
     Tim froze, his lips still against yours. And then, almost as if he was afraid you would vanish or startle, he placed his hand gingerly on your waist, and leaned into the kiss.
     And he was kissing you back. Tim Bradford was kissing you back.
     His free hand went to your hair, deepening the kiss as he gripped you closer. He kissed you like he had been waiting a lifetime.
     It was desperate and raw and passionate—it was perfect.
     You broke apart, both gasping for breath.
     “Listen, Boot,” Tim started. You watched his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed. “You’ve had a long and confusing day—”
     You interrupted him. “Yeah. Yeah, I have. But I’m not confused about this.”
     You brought your lips to his again. This time he didn’t hold back. He pulled you closer to him and you felt the warmth of him through his shirt.
     When you came apart again, he was smiling.
     “Well, I guess I can check thinking that you hate me off my daily checklist,” you whispered.
     “I don’t hate you, Boot,” Tim said. “I actually hate how much I don’t hate you.”
     You studied the planes of his face, the light from the hallway illuminating his eyes. His lips. His jawline.
     “Boot—”
     “If you’re going to say that this is a bad idea, I don’t want to hear it. Not tonight,” you said.
     “I thought that was obvious.” Tim stated matter-of-factly. “I was going to say actually I’d appreciate it if you did turn on a lamp or something, because—”
     You laughed, kissing him again.
     “But seriously,” Tim continued. “You know we can’t do this.”
     “Why not?” You pouted. “If it’s what we both want.”
     “It’s not about what we want—we could be putting both of our careers in jeopardy.”
     You knew he was right. Of course he was right.
     “But is it—what you want?”
     “God yes,” Tim blurted, standing up, his voice strained. “It’s what I’ve wanted from the moment I started training you. Do you know how hard it’s been trying to put distance between us and deny every damn thing when all I wanted to do was—”
     He broke off, running a hand along his hair.
     “Then do it.” Your heart pounded in your chest. “You’ll only be my TO for a few more months, we’ll just keep it a secret until then. No one has to know.”
     Tim looked at you.
     “Ok you’re right, Bishop and Lopez will totally know something’s up,” you admitted.
     “I guess I’ll just have to transfer,” Tim joked.
     “What happened to ‘Tim Bradford finished what he starts’?” You asked.
     “Oh I intend to do just that,” Tim whispered. “Are we really thinking about doing this?”
     You thought about the consequences you could face—Tim could face—if it got out that you and your training officer were romantically involved. You knew it would be a huge risk—one that could get you cut from the program.
     You looked at Tim. He was watching you like he never wanted to let you go again. You thought about how long you’d wanted this, even if you didn’t fully know it until tonight.
     And the decision seemed clear.
     “Yeah,” you beamed. “Yeah I think we are.”
     He cupped your face in his hand, his fingers warm against the back of your neck. Your eyes closed against his touch. You felt comfort for the first time in hours.
     “You need rest,” Tim whispered and your eyes fluttered open. “As much as I’d love to do this all night.”
     You nodded, backing up towards your bed. Tim ran a hand through his hair again and then sat back down in the armchair.
    “What’re you doing?” You asked him.
    “Going to bed,” Tim answered, as if it was obvious.
    “Get over here,” you gestured, rolling your eyes at him.
    “I was hoping you’d say that,” Tim smiled.
     You climbed into bed beside him, pulling the covers over both of you.
     You lay your head on Bradfords chest. You could feel his heartbeat in your ear as you closed your eyes.
    “You know, this will kind of be like doing undercover work—minus the threat of getting killed,” you said.
     “I don’t know about that—I wouldn’t put anything past an angry Sergeant Grey.”
     “We’ll just have to be so in-character that we never find out,” you said.
     “I’ll make sure to be extra tough on you next shift,” Tim agreed.
     “And that’s different from any other day how?” You shot back, sitting up.
     “Hey, training rookies is a sacred duty and I take that very seriously. If you think I’m going to throw your education out the window simply because—”
     You shut him up by pressing your lips to his. You echoed his earlier words. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
     Tim shook is head slightly, eyes roaming over your face.
     “What?” You asked.
     “You’re so beautiful, (Y/n),” Tim breathed. “I’m so glad I can finally tell you that.”
     “Me too,” you said. “Even if it took…this for it to happen.”
     “Speaking of which, maybe I’ll take a sick day tomorrow,” Tim said. “Since there’s no way Grey—or myself—is letting you go to work. What’d you say?”
     You wanted to fight him, say you were fine and you could make it to your shift the next day. But the promise of taking a sick day with Tim was to tempting to pass up.
     “I say I’m glad your house is being repainted,” you teased. “Because then you’ll have to stay with me.”
     Tim smiled knowingly. “My house isn’t being repainted, Boot. And I’m all yours.”
     You grinned, laying back down and resting your head back against Tim. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder.
     You felt safe, protected in his arms.
     The rest would come. Dealing with what had happened tonight. Starting your secret relationship with Tim. Eventually facing everyone at work who had heard the news and would want to ask if you were ok. And you would be ok.
     But for now, this was enough. He was enough.
     “Tim?” You whispered.
     “Hmm?”
     You struggled for words to fit the gravity of what you were feeling for him. “Thanks for…everything.”
     “What are TOs for,” Tim shrugged.
     “Apparently keeping the night light business afloat.” You giggled at the look on Bradford’s face.
     “Shut it, Boot.”
New Beginnings
Tumblr media
Summary - Having two mates was never easy, especially when you all had different homes.
Warnings - Readers boyfriends definitely are not boyfriends, references to smut, swearing, drinking
A/N - you all thought I wouldn't try to get my poop in a group for my beloved @polysjmweek? Wrong. I had drafts. I'm forcing myself to post them. @acourtofladydeath, forgive my lateness. And my dropping of many things late. Closed Vs are something we had talked a lot about, and I wanted to make sure to feature one this year! A closed v is a challenging dynamic that requires 3 very secure people, and it felt so right to start my late posting with this.
This fic was written for day 1 - who's court is it anyways?
“Mother, save me,” you murmured as Azriel and Eris started arguing again. Life would have been easier if Azriel and Eris were also mates, but the Cauldron decided this was much more entertaining. You sighed and got between them. They’d been arguing for several hours about which court you three would be settling into as a permanent home. Eris wanted to stay in Autumn, and rightfully so, with his chances of being High Lord so high. Azriel believed the Night Court was the best option and that he owed Rhysand his life, possibly even his first born with how loyal he was.
Your home had been immediately denied. “Why would we move to the coldest place in Prythian,” Eris had asked. Azriel immediately had agreed, stating his wings would freeze in the bitter winds of the Winter Court.
“Rhysand needs me,” Azriel growled at Eris. “My court needs me!”
“So does mine,” Eris shot back. “I will be High Lord some day, and I have to be in Autumn to heal Autumn!”
You sighed softly, hands on two strong chests as they glared. “Does anyone care what I think?” Both males seemed to relax at the sound of your voice. “Because I think this is ridiculous, and maybe we all aren’t actually ready to move into one home.” The silence that met that statement was deafening. You had spent the last 7 years having to bounce between Autumn and Night. a  week with Ers. A week with Azriel. A week at home, the Mountain House, a quiet comfort. Dating two males, being mated to two males, especially two males who were not interested in each other, was not for the faint of heart. You took a deep breath, eyes closing as you did. “I think we have a great thing,” you continued. “Our relationship and the dynamic we have is special to me, but I worry it isn’t special to you two. I worry that us moving in together will not be with you not-” You paused. “With you two.. Unable to cooperate and get along.”
Eris and Azriel looked at you, eyes so different. Eris was inquisitive, Azriel was stunned. You had never shown any signs of thinking there were issues within the relationship the 3 of you shared, at least, not issues you had acknowledged to them. You were such a relaxed fae and would go where the wind took you. Eris sat down, knowing this was a serious conversation time, not a fun one. He pointed to the chair across from the couch he was on, his rings sparkling on his long finger as you moved and sat. Azriel sat by Eris, leaned forward so his elbows rested on his knees. “How long have you felt this way,” Eris was fighting to keep his voice soft. “And why are the two of us just finding out?”
Azriel then added, “And how can we fix it?”
They had similarities, and this process was one of them. They allowed the comfortable silence to fall over the room as you thought and then took a deep breath. “I think I first started feeling this way at our first Starfall all together. I felt pulled and like spending too much time with Azriel disrespected you,” you said to Eris. “But too much time with Eris, and I was hurting you,” you directed at Azriel. “I felt.. Spread so thin.”
Eris nodded in clear thought. He was thinking over everything you had told them first before nodding, wanting you to continue. “I have tried to bring it up to both of you one on one since us in one place rarely happens, but my time with Azriel is spent-”
“Do not finish that sentence,” the Illyrian blushed.
“And my time with Eris is spent acting like the perfect future Lady of Autumn,” you smiled and held in a laugh to Azriel’s sudden shyness.
Eris chuckled, a laugh deep and full like his whiskey, “A shame, really. Sounds like your time with Azriel is much more productive than your time with me. Does she curl her -"
Azriel blushed harder, the faint pinkish-red hiding under his tan skin. “Shut up, Eris. She still has to tell us how to fix it.” They both turned back to you, “Keep talking, salvation.”
It was your turn to blush, the precious nickname Azriel had given you always enough to make your heart flutter and the bond grow warm. “I just would like you two to be friends. For you two to learn to be civil enough that we could spend time as the three of us. I don’t need you two to ever want to have sex, but knowing I could leave you two alone for 2 or 3 hours to head to market without one of you being dead when I came back would be nice.” Both males nodded.
Another deep breath relaxed the feeling of your heart beating in your chest.  The two of them were studying each other. “It starts with addressing the elephant in the room, Eris,” You said as gently as you could.
He leaned forward more, taking a moment to center, and he began. He told Azriel everything about his relationship with Mor, the illyrian nodding as Eris explained his choices to Azriel and explained everything he had done was to protect Mor, you, and himself. Azriel then had to explain himself as well, admitting the Night Court had a plan for killing Eris as soon as Morrigan said yes, but they had told Morrigan it would not happen now that Azriel was tied to Eris in a roundabout way. It was several hours of your mates talking, voices low and unhurried. They’d never gotten along this well and for this long.
The conversation switched at some point, the males going from discussing their issues to the things you had known for a while they shared in common. Dancing being the biggest one. From there it became showing their dagger collection. Discussions on the hounds. Hunting. You.
Beautiful, brilliant you.
You were the first to retire for the evening, standing in the hall between the guest room and Eris’s. Whenever the 3 of you were together, you had to make a choice on who you slept with each night, bouncing between beds sometimes like it should have been a profession. Soft hands led you by your hips, pushing you into Eris’s room. The warm scent of baked apple and fire was like a pull, drawing you in more and more. Your own hands found the ones holding you, scarred flesh, greeting them. “I think his bed is large enough for all three of us,” a voice like deep night whispered to you. “Think we can make that work? We know how happy it would make you, and it is time for us to try.” If Eris had a scent that pulled like a magnet, Azriel’s was the lock shutting you in. The two mixed, that chilled air and cedar in weaving into fire, felt like the safest combination you had ever wrapped yourself into.
“I think we’d all fit,” the softness of your voice had him smiling.
“Then lay down. We’ll come in once we finish our drinks.”
And that night, the three of you tucked into one bed together. It felt like something new was beginning. A new chapter. One you had been hoping to welcome for far too long now.
Can you do a Sophia x reader, where Sophia has been extremely busy over the past months and has been neglecting the reader. It leads to the reader taking her things from the dorm, she also stops contacting Sophia. It took Sophia a while to even notice, because she was so busy.
you didn’t notice— sophia laforteza
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
genre: ANGST😣
synopsis: after months of being overlooked, y/n quietly walks away. it takes sophia weeks to realize she’s gone—and even longer to face what that means
warnings: break up, emotional neglect, sophia is bad at communication 🙁
two months ago
y/n [7:13 pm]: good luck today!! i know you’re probably too busy to reply, but i’m thinking of you. always.
y/n [7:15 pm]: i left some soup in the fridge btw. please eat even if you’re tired. love you
seen two weeks later
it didn’t hurt all at once.
no, it was quieter than that. the kind of slow unraveling that happened in silences, in missed calls, in the way sophia’s replies went from paragraphs to one-word answers.
y/n didn’t take it personally.
she couldn’t afford to. because if she did, she’d fall apart.
she made excuses for her girlfriend — told herself, it’s just the comeback, she’s just tired, she loves you, even if she hasn’t said it in a while.
but love, when left alone too long, starts to feel like waiting for a train that’s already left.
and sophia had left.
not physically. but in all the ways that mattered.
three weeks ago
“you really don’t have to do this,” megan said softly, leaning in the doorway as y/n carefully folded the sweatshirt sophia gave her. the grey one with the soft sleeves and the tiny bleach stain on the cuff that she’d once joked looked like a heart.
“i do,” y/n whispered. “i can’t keep living in a place where she forgets i exist.”
megan’s expression twisted. “she doesn’t—”
“she hasn’t said i love you in over a month, megan.”
megan said nothing.
“i leave food. i text. i wait up. and she doesn’t even ask me if i’ve eaten anymore. not even that.”
y/n’s voice cracked on the last part, quiet and sharp. like something inside her had finally caved in.
“i don’t hate her,” she said. “i just… don’t think she sees me anymore.”
“are you going to tell her you’re leaving?”
y/n blinked down at the folded hoodie. her silence was answer enough.
one week ago
sophia sat in the van, eyelids heavy, makeup smudged under her eyes. the world was noise and flashbulbs and schedules and movement, always movement.
“where’s y/n?” she asked suddenly, half-asleep.
the other members blinked.
“what do you mean?” megan asked, voice cautious.
“she hasn’t answered my messages. did i do something wrong?”
megan glanced out the window. “you didn’t even notice she was gone?”
sophia sat up straighter. “what do you mean, gone?”
megan didn’t say anything for a moment. then: “she moved out. like, three weeks ago.”
the car filled with silence.
“why didn’t anyone tell me?”
“you didn’t ask.”
present day
when sophia knocked on the door of y/n’s new apartment, she wasn’t sure what she expected.
she hadn’t rehearsed anything. all she had was a half-finished drink she thought y/n still liked, and her heart sitting somewhere in her throat.
the door opened slowly.
and there she was.
y/n stood there in an old hoodie, hair pulled back, eyes guarded. beautiful. exhausted.
sophia couldn’t breathe.
“hey,” she said, voice barely audible.
y/n stared at her like she was seeing a ghost. “you remembered where i live.”
“megan told me. i… i know i shouldn’t have shown up. i just didn’t know what else to do.”
y/n said nothing. not yet. she didn’t close the door either.
sophia shifted on her feet. “you really left.”
“you really didn’t notice.”
it landed like a slap. not loud. just final.
sophia swallowed hard. “i was so deep in everything. rehearsals. promotions. meetings. i thought… i thought i could make it up to you after.”
y/n’s voice was flat. “there’s always an after with you. after the comeback. after the fanmeet. after the schedule. i kept waiting for us to matter again.”
“we did matter. we do.”
“then why did it take you three weeks to even realize i was gone?”
sophia opened her mouth. closed it. there was no excuse. only regret.
“i kept telling myself i was doing it for us,” she whispered. “all the work. all the sacrifices. but what’s the point if i lose you in the process?”
a flicker of something — pain, or maybe softness — passed through y/n’s expression. but her voice stayed steady. tired. “you didn’t lose me. not all at once. you let me drift.”
“i didn’t mean to.”
“but you did.”
sophia felt her throat tighten. “i still love you.”
y/n’s eyes welled, but she didn’t let them fall. “i loved you in silence. i waited and waited, sophia. i begged you in a hundred ways without saying a word. and you didn’t see me.”
“i see you now.”
“too late.”
those two words broke something in her.
“but if there’s even the smallest part of you,” sophia said quietly, “that wants to try again someday… i’ll wait. i’ll actually wait.”
“don’t wait,” y/n said. “don’t promise something you might forget again.”
sophia nodded slowly. “then just… let me earn the right to try.”
y/n didn’t answer. didn’t smile. but she didn’t close the door.
and before sophia turned to leave, y/n said, softer than anything she’d said all night:
“don’t text me unless you really mean it this time.”
sophia’s heart ached.
“i will,” she whispered. “when i do… you’ll know.”
later that night
sophia [unsent]: i can’t sleep. not without you.
sophia [unsent]: i wore your hoodie today. it still smells like you.
sophia [unsent]: i’m sorry i didn’t fight for you sooner.
sophia [unsent]: i love you. i miss you. i’ll wait.
she stared at the blinking cursor.
deleted all of it.
waited.
and meant it.
how do we feel about boynextdoor having cuteness aggression :ppp
oh i KNOW they’re hiding it fr. thank you so much for requesting! i love little chats with my anons :))
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warnings: none i believe!
Tumblr media
leehan really does try to keep it undercover, and i think he does the best job at it? he can be really calm in most public situations, but when you two are alone? ohhh that’s a whole different challenge, because now he has you all to himself. he’ll slowly start to break, giving you quick, snarky remarks so that hopefully you won’t notice the blush creeping up on his face. but if you place his face in your palms and straight up ask him what’s wrong, he’s a stuttering mess.
“you’re always puffing your cheeks like that y/n, do you only get like this for me?”
(he’s silently combusting inside.)
jaehyun is not your strongest soldier. anywhere and anytime he is with you he just erupts into this fit of coo’s and pouts. he really can’t control it. try walking past him and watch the way his eyes widen as they linger on you, then his fingers start to tremor, then he’s pursing his lips trying to keep in how cute you look wearing his clothes… before you can even ask why his head looks like it’s about to explode, there he goes!
“oh my god look at you. how could you do this to me??”
“im wearing your shirt? didnt you ask me to-”
“i can’t take it anymore!”
sungho is another one who tries veryyy hard to keep his cool. he’s actually super sensitive about his and your feelings, which makes him attentive to your every move, but he feels so embarrassed ogling at you 24/7, so he mainly tries to find any kind of distraction to keep himself off of you. It’s hardest for him to keep it in when he hasn’t seen you in a while though, he’ll do his best but trust his hugs will be tighter and his kisses just a bit more feverish.
he scoops you into his arms, entangling you in such a strong embrace that you find it hard to exhale when he finally lets you go.
“sungie did you miss me that much?”
“you have no idea.”
taesan is gonna try to be soo nonchalant about it, but his inner romantic is screaming and clawing at his skin. forget him maintaining his dignity during any kind of conflict with you. the way your eyebrows furrow, and how you pout your lip for only him to see, oh and if you put your hands on your hips? hes a goner. can’t even remember what the initial argument was for because now he’s enamored. absolutely has to squish your cheek or squeeze you physically to get the frustration out.
“baby, you can’t keep doing this to me.”
“doing what?”
“there you go again, i said stop it!”
riwoo is like, totally natural about it? i feel like cute things are just a regular part of his daily life, and he’s always appreciated those softer, cuter moments with you. rather than getting aggressive he just basks in the cuteness with you. is NOT afraid to tell you you’re cute, because how could he try to lie? when riwoo sees something cute he just HAS to have it. though he does say it so often that you have to question what exactly is so cute to him, do you ever get an answer? nope.
“aww look at you!”
“riwoo baby you’re doing it again.”
“i can’t help it, look at you!”
woonhak is like, the worst person to keep collected about this. he gets overly expressive and dramatic when he’s talking to anyone, so when he’s talking to you up close and your big doe eyes have his full attention, it’s 10x worse. as soon as the rage hits he’s already making a fool of himself. He’s fighting it so hard in hopes it’ll help the agression subside, but he doesn’t realize he’s practically yelling over his own thoughts and laughing ridiculously to try and cover the thumps of his heartbeat.
“woonhak is everything ok?”
“YEAH YEAH ITS SO GOOD, YOU JUST LOOK SO GREAT TODAY. IS IT HOT IN HERE OR IS IT JUST ME-“
“Oi! What’s this?”
You sit up from your stretch with a sheepish look on your face, legs spread out on either side of you on Sirius’ rug.
“You know there’s no practice during lounge time,” he scolds.
You roll your eyes but come out of your split, standing to take the drink Sirius holds out for you. “I just felt a little tight.”
“Probably because of how hard you’ve been working at not jumping.” He clinks his glass against yours, taking a hearty sip.
You copy him, and your face scrunches. “Oh, my god.” You sound like you’re fighting a gag. “What’s in this?”
“It’s sangria.” Sirius’ voice is a bit wounded. Which feels appropriate, because you’ve just reacted to his sangria like it’s petrol.
“You mean there’s a whole bowl of it?”
“That’s how it typically works.” He takes another sip, swishing it around his mouth a bit. It’s really not bad. “I make drinks, babe. Not juice.”
“I’m going to have to revoke your drink making privileges again after this,” you sigh, folding one leg under you as you sit down on the couch. You take another sip, tentative and with narrowed eyes like you’re suspicious of the liquid in your glass, but this time you swallow without complaint. “Do you really think I’m working hard at not jumping?”
Sirius grimaces. He should have known better than to think he could breeze by a comment like that.
“Listen,” he says, “he’s not wrong about everything. I mean, about most things, definitely—” you give a little smile, the reward he was seeking “—but he’s got a point on this one. I can feel you tensing right before the jumps. Before a lot of things, actually. You’re holding yourself back.”
You rub your lips together, a nervous tic of yours that torments Sirius like nothing else. He fights the urge to lick his own lips in response.
“Do you remember what Peter said about my jumps?” you ask him.
Sirius feels his mouth twist with a malice not meant for you. He tries to quell it. But fuck—why are you still thinking about that wanker?
Peter Pettigrew was a mistake in trust Sirius never should have made. His judgment has always been wonky where James is concerned; Peter was James’ friend, so he was Sirius’ by default, but Sirius still should have known better than to bring him around you.
Before, there would have been three of you here. Peter used to like to sit on the couch with Sirius, and you were more than happy to lounge around on the rug and stretch, no matter how many times Sirius told you to lay off yourself and relax for once. He was totally prepared to have to shoot you down if you suggested inviting Remus tonight, but despite how comfortable you seem to have become with your new coach over the last couple of weeks, you haven’t seemed inclined to bring your relationship outside the rink. Sirius is grateful. Now that it’s just the two of you, he intends to keep it that way. It had more than stung to learn that Peter sold the both of you out, but it was worse knowing that Sirius could have avoided it had he simply used the acumen he’d always prided himself on to sniff out the rat before it happened.
Fuck, the sangria is already going to Sirius’ head; he has half a mind to go to the pillock’s apartment and burn it down. If Peter’s half as smart as he thinks he is, he’ll have already moved.
“No,” Sirius says, already tired with this conversation. He takes another lengthy sip from his glass. “What did he say?”
You curl your feet a little closer to you, and—yep, if Peter’s ever stupid enough to come within Sirius’ sight again, he’s going to knock his fucking teeth out. “He told the other coach that I was one bad jump away from injuring myself into an early retirement.”
From your weary tone, Sirius can guess that you’ve memorized it verbatim.
“He didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about,” he tells you firmly.
Your voice gets smaller. “He usually did.”
Your defeat hits Sirius right in the center of his chest. It makes his wrath fizzle. He doesn’t like to think about Peter’s better qualities, but you’re not wrong. He wasn’t always a complete idiot when it came to coaching.
You lean your head on the couch cushion, and Sirius mirrors you unthinkingly.
“You think you’re going to get hurt.” His voice comes out even softer than he intends. It’s a question, and also not.
You nod anyway. “I can’t stop thinking about it. I know I’m messing us up, but I don’t want to fall and then not be able to compete.”
Sirius’ mind flashes to Remus, to his grimace when he stands from the bleachers, the limp he tries to hide. From your expression, you’re thinking about him too.
“You’re not messing us up, love.” The endearment slips out too easily, Sirius’ throat all buttered up by sympathy and booze. “Only yourself. You’re falling more now than you did before, you do realize that?”
Your expression creases slightly, which is answer enough.
“Every time you tense up or hold yourself back,” he says, “you’re more at risk for a bad fall than you would be if you committed. I’ve seen you fall more in the last couple of weeks than I think I ever have. Whatever Pete—Peter—was talking about, you’re only as much at risk of getting hurt as everyone else that’s as good a skater as you are—I mean, you have the skill to protect yourself, you’re just not using it. You trying to play it safe is less safe than when you didn’t worry about it.”
You sit with this for a minute, rubbing your lips together thoughtfully. Sirius notices that at some point, you’ve nearly drained your glass as well.
“Oh,” you say simply.
He can’t help the grin that splits his face. “Oh?”
“I hadn’t quite thought about it like that.” You take another sip, eyes stuck in the middle distance.
“You can just say I’m the wisest person you know. It’s all right.”
Your gaze cuts to him. “Would you like that engraved on a trophy?”
Sirius feels his smile grow. “Sure, I’ll add it to my collection.”
“Oh, you are insufferable,” you chuckle. “Don’t think it was your original idea, though, was it?” A grin spreads across your face, one Sirius doesn’t like very much. “In fact, I think you’ve just agreed with Remus. Quite heartily.”
Sirius feels his mouth pucker in distaste. “That was incidental.”
Your laughter is diabolical. He wonders whether you were quite so wicked before you met him; it’s impossible to say, now.
“Should I skip practice tomorrow?” you ask gleefully. “That way you two can spend the entire time waxing poetic about how right the other is.”
He levels you with a dead stare. “Don’t fool yourself, doll. You like me too much to condemn me to such a cruel fate.”
“You’re so full of it.” You roll your eyes with a smile, swirling your glass. “He is sort of your type, isn’t he?”
Sirius’ throat nearly hurts from the force of his scoff. “What—dull, stubborn, and pompous? Fuck off.”
You hum, your gaze playful. “But also quite fit, right?”
Sirius narrows his eyes at you, but that only makes yours twinkle more. He feels it like tiny little firecrackers in his gut. Even though you’re only teasing, he can see where you’d get the idea. When Sirius dates boys, he tends to go for ones taller than him, with Remus’ same lissom frame and enigmatic allure. But with Remus, there is no enigma; he’s a tosser, clear as day. And truly, Sirius hasn’t found anybody as lovely as you in some time.
“Sounds like you’re the one who fancies him,” he says, keeping his voice light. He makes his expression go impish and teasing. “We can both do better, don’t you think?”
You roll your eyes, but your expression is inscrutable as you take another sip from your glass. Until you take another sip, that is. Then, your lip curls. “Ugh, we can certainly do better than this. Do you have something I could add to it?”
“You want me to let you sully my creation,” Sirius deadpans.
“I want you to let me make your monstrosity potable.”
“I’ll make you a deal,” he says. “I’ll let you, but then no more shop talk for the night.”
You grin, sitting up. “I promise.”
“There’s orange juice in the fridge.”
entry 001: messages from your ancestors
            ྀི❀⋆.ೃྀི࿔*:・
author’s note — while tarot can be a tool, you are in control of your own life. life is NOT linear and there’s no black and white answers to anything. take what resonates and if it doesn’t make you feel good, then let it go.
one:
the sun + 7 of cups reversed + ace of wands rx
additionally: 8 of swords + the moon rx
song from the ancestors:
these ancestors may have used their hands to create or build. i feel like you come from a lineage that has creative abilities, maybe you tend to have a lot of inclinations towards creating art or even simply appreciating art. there's natural talents or gifts for creation present here for sure.
they're giving you the green light for something. there's a feeling that you must get started on something but you might not know how, in what direction, or what resources to use. there's a mental blockage or a creative blockage if you will. you know, it's said that the throat chakra (responsible for authenticity and expression) is connected to our sacral (responsible for our emotions and creativity). i mention this for a reason, stay with me now. it's almost like you want to get started on said thing but each time you want to begin, your brain starts to bring up unnecessary, negative chatter. you get stuck on the how's, the ifs, and the buts. in turn, you find yourself stuck right before a point of creating. keeping you paralyzed with a feeling of being so close yet so far. spoiler alert: these thoughts are distractions from something deeper. here is where that throat chakra and sacral chakra connection comes in.
you're not doing anything wrong, matter of fact this is apart of your creative process. not only that, your healing. a big part of these thoughts are a core belief that is wanting to be acknowledged and seen. it's not that you're missing the gift, talent, or resources because you possess everything you need to move forward and create. but rather the blockage is coming from emotional needs that have been suppressed. i feel like the individuals that chose this pile are big intellectualizers and have labelled themselves as "self-aware." i'm not saying you're not self-aware. you most likely are... but the problem in this is that you do not allow yourself to sit with your emotions. when you hold space with your emotions, you are allowing yourself to come as you are. there's no good or bad emotions when sitting with them, you simply acknowledge them as emotions that are valid and natural. no matter how complex they may seem, we humans are complex and yet there's normalcy in the fact that we are so complex... you see. nothing is black and white.
give yourself a break and let yourself feel the frustration, the boredom, the angst, the sadness, etc. it's trying to tell you something. it's only when you sit in stillness that you will conquer the chatter and eventually get to where you want to get to. don't force yourself to create. you will get their on your own.
the reason i feel like this was an ancestral message is because i feel like some of your ancestors did not allow themselves to feel and eventually gave up on their craft. leading to a lifetime of regret. the good news is you are aware of this. sit your ass down and ask yourself why you are feeling what you're feeling.
this message especially reigns true for those who have been having or started this year off emotionally turbulent.
thank you. sending you love.
    ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*    *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
two:
10 of cups + knight of wands + knight of pentacles
additionally: ace of swords rx + king of cups
song from the ancestors:
these ancestors feel like people that moved from the heart like genuine passion and love for the world and others. very generous. i also hear laughter so perhaps some of them were jokesters, pranksters, or just simply people who loved to make others smile. i'm hearing that song from tangled "when will my life begin?" despite the happiness exuding from the outside, theres a sadness i feel within. maybe some of the individuals in your lineage never truly got their "happy-ending." whatever that meant for them, it could be that they had a dream to get married and never met that person. or if they did get married, it ended in divorce or tragedy. or maybe their dream was to go to college and become a professional, but they didn't end up finishing or have the resources to go. this is a general reading so of course it varies but the jist of it is that their dreams were either short-lived or couldn't happen at all.
there's a dream that your heart is set on. my grandma told me once that if you desire something so much that it makes you cry just thinking about it, it's meant for you. your ancestors are acknowledging that you have everything you need to obtain this dream. it may not seem like it to you but they have a birds eye view and they're saying that it's in you. but goddamn, you gotta really believe in it.
perhaps you're just starting to realize that this is attainable or you're starting to take steps towards this dream but it feels like such a far journey. it could be overwhelming, sometimes you may have bad days, or you just feel like there's no support and it's lonely. honestly, you guys may catastrophize the situation a bit sometimes. like just cause you have one bad day, week, or even a month doesn't mean all of a sudden your dream is gone or you're not worthy of it anymore. this is called a journey! your journey to your dream is not a easy path, duh, then the dream itself wouldn't be rewarding.
little mini story (i promise it's relevant): when i first read someone for the first time and found out of my healing abilities, i read them for two hours straight and afterwards i just cried pure tears of joy for an hour saying thank you to my team and creator. out of everything, all I could do is bask in that gratitude because it felt like all my pain, my suffering, my joy, etc. lead me to that moment. it was worth it. i've been on my journey for years now and i often go back to that memory, especially when i feel like my heavier days and emotions have consumed me.
this is how it should feel for you. you want this so bad for a reason. sometimes you may go through upbeat and fast times, it may feel like you're working towards something or what you're doing is beneficial to your dream but other times it may feel slow, down, like every step you're taking may be directionless. this is normal! this is how it should feel! despite what those people who have what you want portray on socials, it's a journey. everyone wants results so quickly now without putting work in, without enjoying the journey. this causes faulty foundations and unaligned outcomes. not everything is meant to be fast moving, positive, or happy all the time. you don't have to be in that energy all the time to be worthy of it. embrace both of these moments in the journey and trust that the seeds you have planted are growing. you don't plant a seed and watch it grow right? you nurture it, give it love, care, and trust that it will grow.
when you're lacking clarity or are doubtful, remember to be like the king of cups. move with these emotions rather than stay stuck in them. the king of cups shows us that we can be patient with ourselves and our bigger emotions but not let them consume us or cloud us. having a bad day? take a walk, a bath, spend time with family, friends or a pet. soothe yourself and don't let one bad day dictate the rest of your journey, you won't always feel like this and your situation won't always look like this either.
this message reigns true for those who have a dream pertaining to building a family, community, getting married, etc. your dream will be prosperous, stable, and so emotionally-fullfilling. it's possible the individuals that picked this pile may have came from less fortunate circumstances or just didn't get dealt the best cards in life. just because you came from that, doesn't mean that is your fate. you will make your ancestors proud and all past versions of you proud.
thank you. sending you love.
    ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*    *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
three:
page of cups + 4 of swords + the empress + the hermit
additionally: the high priestess rx + 6 of swords rx
song from the ancestors:
these ancestors carry a heavy energy pertaining to surviving. they never gave themselves a break simply because they couldn't. they needed to work to survive. i feel like crying for this lineage because that's all they knew is how to work their ass off until they were so tired. solely because their life depended on it or their children's life depended on it. health complications may be significant. you may be more susceptible to feeling the effects of stress. you may have things like back pain, insomnia, weight fluctuation, etc.
sit your ass down and rest. the end. that's the message.
no but really, if you're wondering why you don't see progress in any area of your life, it's cause you're not listening to your body and resting. you don't know when to quit and just unwind. let your body rest. let your mind rest. everything is always go go go. and it seems like even when you do rest, it's like your spirit doesn't rest cause either your mind is still running 80 mph or you feel guilty about resting itself. there's a lack of playfulness in your life right now. it's dull and you're probably going through the same routine day by day. I'm here to tell you, nothing won't change, if you don't change.
you are worthy of rest! you are worthy of being kind and gentle to yourself! I know our capitalistic society (if you're in the states) likes us to equate a "productive" life to having your to do list with ten thousand things on it but what if I told you rest was also productive? no? not comprehendible? well, it's time to break down that belief.
let your inner child come out to play! what is one thing you always wanted to see or try? sign up for that pottery class or simply go visit a local park that you've never gone to. if you don't have resources or time to do so, then find ways to switch up your routine like drinking a new coffee or opening a window and smelling the fresh air. find a step in your old routine to kick out and break that loop.
the fact of the matter is you're tired. you have seemed to lost the spark in you. maybe you don't even recognize who you are anymore, where you're going, or why you're doing this for and it's not cause of the work you're doing but rather not listening to what your body needs. prioritize your sleep and take a warm bath. I like working with the spirit of lavender for this so sometimes i'll sit with her though tea, a spiritual bath, or even smoking her. tip: add chamomile for a more gentle, warm hug type of feeling. remember to pray, meditate, or set your intentions. gratitude is so important when working with our plant relatives and their spirit.
you will not move forward or see progress if you don't do this. point blank period. this pile's ancestors talk a very matter of factly. but it makes sense as it seems urgent in a way. you have done enough and the work you are doing whether it's actual physical work or even just emotional work is so important! they're so proud of you but understand that they have worked so hard to be able to give you the privilege of slowing down and resting. do what they could not do!
this message reigns true for those who seem to be workaholics, have mommy issues, or come from a one-parent household. whoever you are, you're someone that can't sit still and you're being asked to do this exact thing. smell the roses, look how far you've come, you deserve this! also, hot baths, hot tea, anything warm or hot is recommended!
thank you. sending you love.
Hello :D
I was wondering if you could write something were jinx and reader have a reunion after the time skip and jinx gives the reader claggors goggles because she saved them for the reader to get back knowing that they were close and they should have them
(I apologize if I explained it wrong(feel free to ignore this))
I loved this idea<3
arcane imagines- Jinx
watching you
Tumblr media
[arcane] [main page] prompt: in which jinx spots you, following you to make sure you weren't a hallucination.
“Fucking hell.” You mutter under your breath, climbing onto the roof of a building, scraping your knee as you do so. You were currently on the run from authorities for breaking into someone’s house. You thought it was abandoned, a place to take cover in until you could find another.
It’s been rough for the past 7 years after Benzo, your father figure passed away. Ekko offered you shelter but you would have had to join the fireflies. You declined. You weren’t a peacemaker, you weren’t a fighter. You just wanted to be alone. You weren't fighting for others.
You missed your life before everything went to shit. You missed your best friend, Claggor. You missed the only girl you ever fell in love with, Powder.
Who’s now going by the name Jinx, or so you heard. You haven’t gotten the chance to bump into her. And you didn’t know if that made you upset or relieved.
Upset because obviously you miss her. Or relieved because she changed. She’s not your Powder anymore. As Ekko has told you after the many a times of bumping into you. Pleading with you to just join the fireflies. That you look worse and worse every single time he sees you.
You declined. Clearly.
Eyes were set on you from another building, they’re been watching you for weeks. Swearing up and down that you were just another hallucination. The blue-haired girl follows you from each roof-top, always two behind you. And when you jumped down, finding a good alleyway where you wouldn’t be caught.
Jinx does the same, more swift and careful not to be heard.
As you walk in the dark alleyway you scan around, searching for a place to seek shelter for the night. Humming lowly just so you could comfort yourself.
You heard the steps behind you, you attempted to act as if you couldn’t tell. A pit filled in your stomach knowing you’re most likely about to be dragged into a fight. You needed to make the first move.
Running wasn’t a choice.
You slow down a bit, feeling the person get even closer to you. Sharply turning around you snatch the person by their collar. Pinning them against the brick wall. “Who the hell are you!?” You grit your teeth, the unknown person’s hands go up in defense.
“Is that any way to treat an old friend?” Their voice was raspy but familiar, their head going back to drop the hood. Your nostrils flared, eyes widening, keeping your hand tight against their collar bone. Not ceasing your hold.
“What the hell? You glare.
“It really is you.” Her eyes seemed to have softened with a slight tilt of the head. “Of course it’s really me, the hell are you doing following me like that, Jinx?” You spat out the name in distaste, like it was vomit.
“So you know my name? Still obsessed with me?” She giggles, not even struggling against you. Letting you pin her up against the wall without a complaint.
Your gaze was hard, not faltering. She grins at you.
You roll your eyes, dropping her. “What do you want?” You sigh.
“Why aren’t you with boy savior?” Jinx ignores your question, her arms crossing. “Ekko? Because I’m not a fucking fighter. I keep to myself and he can’t respect that.” You sit down on a wooden crate, manspreading and leaning forward. “Seems like you fight a little bit.” Jinx snorts, reminding you of what you did. “I fight to protect myself. No one else. I’m not anyone’s body guard but my own.”
“Mm, not even if I asked you to be mine for old times sake?” She says in a teasing tone, crouching down to look at your face. Expecting you to blush but instead your face is stone hard. “Not even yours, Jinx.” You divulge causing her to frown.
“I’m leaving.” You push past her, she loses balance.. Falling on her ass as you step away. “Wait!” She crawls back up to her feet, grabbing onto your arm. You glance down at her hands, flickering to her face. She didn’t seem like the type of person Ekko explained.
She was still similar to the Powder you remembered. “I have something to give to you. One thing and then we can go our separate ways.” Hers bored into yours, pleading with you.
“What is it?” Your body slumps, and she lets you go. “You have to come with me. It’s at my place.” She walks ahead of you, putting her hood back over her head. You stand there for a moment before joining her. You didn’t really have anything else to do. Or anywhere to go so what did it matter.
If this is a death-trap you’d still willingly go, you were getting tired of fighting to live.
You seemed numb to Jinx. Even as Jinx and not Powder anymore her love for you overpowered the anger that she wanted to feel for everything. It’s been a long time since she was Powder but yet she knew you like the back of her hand. Like she was back to being 11 years old and stuck at your hip. She didn’t like that you were so similar to her now. So mentally… fucked.
“Right around this corner.” Jinx tells, going down an even darker path. You nod your head even though she wasn’t looking. Hands in your pants pockets.
“Here.” She murmurs, the two of you climb to a lit up area. Filled with color and glitter.
You stood behind Jinx as she dug through her stuff. “Close your eyes.” She orders, you didn’t argue, doing as told. “Gonna kill me in a kinky way?” You joke lowly. She snickers. “You found out my master plan.”
“Found it.” You hear her whisper. She turns to you and takes in your features as you can’t see what she’s doing. She’s surprised you weren’t fighting with her, until she noticed your demeanor.
The same demeanor she finds herself falling into. You truly don't care whether you lived or died.
“Give me your hand.” She says, her voice almost breaking due to her realization. “Man, are you a freak or something?” You scoff, jerking your hand out.
“Hah! You wish.” She carefully places something in your hand. It was a hefty little object, you were confused on what this was. Her hand stayed hovered over yours. “I kept this… in hopes I’d see you again. After a while I didn’t think I was going to. But then I spotted you a few years ago. And then again this year. I’ve been watching you.” She admits and you scrunch your nose. “You really are a freak.”
She huffs out a small laugh. “Possibly. But I know you’re into it.” She nudges you. “You can open your eyes, you weirdo.”
You slowly do so, looking down at your hand. You let out a gasp, gripping onto the object. “I know how much he meant to you. You should have it.” She simply tells you. Tears brim your eyes. “I- Powder- you. Sorry.” You take in a deep breath, a tear quickly dripping down your cheek. “Thank you, Jinx.” You pull her into a tight embrace. Her arms stuck at her side as her shoulder grew wet.
Claggor’s goggles, a piece of your best friend that you lost 7 years ago.
“Heh, don’t get all sappy on me.” She pats your back and you take that as a sign to let her go. “Sorry,” you sniffle. “You don’t understand how much this means to me.” You wipe your tears away, clinging onto the goggles. “Don’t mention it.” She waves a hand.
“I don’t know how to thank you.”
“Like I said, don’t mention it.” She awkwardly holds herself, missing your warmth even though she’s the reason you let go. “Right.” You nod your head.
It grows quiet, you play with the glasses. Rubbing your thumbs over the grooves and crevices. “I’ll take my leave now. Thank you.” You give her a gentle smile, the first genuine one she’s seen from you this whole time.
Her mouth slacks open, going to stay something as you are walking away. “Nice to see you again, by the way.” You look back at her one last time.
congratulations on reaching 2k 🫶💕
For the event, I was wondering if you could do option one with reader being hit on right in front of them? With shanks, Sanji, zoro and if possible Nami <3
Hehe I love your writing so much!!
Hii thank you! And thank you for the request :)
Characters: gn reader x Shanks, Sanji, Zoro, Nami Cw: creepy bar guys who can't take a hint Total word count: 730
Take a Hint
Shanks
Shanks’s reaction really depends on the kind of mood he’s in.
Sometimes, you both go into a bar in a competitive mind, trying to see who can get more free drinks throughout the night.
He enjoys watching guys trying to flirt with you. Plus, free booze is free booze. It’s funny how they never seem to ask if you’re there with someone before they buy you a round.
But sometimes it really rubs him the wrong way (especially when he’s in the middle of a conversation with you and someone interrupts him to talk to you).
He usually says some snarky comment like “If you’re going to buy one for my friend here, you should probably buy one for me, considering we’re together.”
He doesn’t ever start a fight, but he will finish them. And he will always take up for you if someone says something rude to you or tries to put their hands on you.
Sanji
People rarely get the chance to try and flirt with you because Sanji is literally all over you 24/7. He wants everyone to know that he belongs to you.
However, there are some brave (and foolish) souls that sometimes try while he’s got his back turned or he steps away from a moment.
The moment he is back, he immediately steps between you and the man who’s trying to shoot his shot. “Is this guy bothering you?” he’ll ask.
He’ll turn back to the guy, his curly brows furrowed in anger. “Unless you want to get your ass kicked, buddy, you might want to move along.”
Afterward the flirter leaves, Sanji will fawn over you, asking if the man hurt you or did anything that made you uncomfortable. He won't relax until he knows for sure you’re okay.
Zoro
Zoro knows you can handle yourself. And besides, it’s amusing to watch.
He lets you handle the situation. Most of the guys take rejections pretty well, but there are a few stubborn ones who insist on buying you a drink even after you’ve turned them down. So you accept a drink.
When you accept, Zoro’s focus on you usually sharpens slightly. He watches carefully for any passes this guy might try to make on you. If you show even an ounce of discomfort, Zoro’s hand is resting on his blade, just in case.
Your eyes meet his, and he’ll mouth “You okay?”. If yes, he’ll leave you be. But if it’s no, he’ll take action.
He’ll position himself between you and the man, taking a nice long drink of the alcohol the guy bought you. Then he’ll plant a kiss firmly on your lips and smirk at you, ignoring the fussing happening from the other man.
“Listen man,” he’ll say, resting his hand on his blade as he turns to him. “I think you need to learn what rejection is. So why don’t you just buzz off, and leave us alone to enjoy this fine alcohol?”
If it leads to a fight, that’s fine. Zoro has never minded fighting for your honor before. And he’s never lost a bar fight.
Nami
Listen, Nami is no stranger to people flirting with her. And neither are you.
Plus, free things are always better. Which is why you two set up a system.
If a guy starts flirting with you and can’t take a hint, well, he’s basically just inviting in some unfortunate circumstances.
So you let him buy you a drink. Maybe two, if you’re feeling crazy. You keep him distracted, telling him stories about your life.
Of course he thinks you need saving by a big strong man or whatever he imagines he is. He has no clue you could knock him out in about 3 seconds flat. But you just smile and listen to his clearly made-up stories.
Meanwhile, Nami is absolutely robbing him blind. It’s actually hilarious to watch. She starts out with his wallet, but she slowly gets more confident as he gets more drunk. She steals his necklace, watch, even his rings. She’s truly amazing at thievery; you can’t help but be in awe at her skill.
At the end of the night, he goes to pay his tab, and you and Nami quietly slip out together hand-in-hand, serenaded by the screams of panic from that dreadful man.
Okaokay this is weird as hell but like BLLK boys with readers who read like downbad BL like hella downbad BL and they caught them reading it
“𝐡𝐞𝐲, 𝐢 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫”
Tumblr media
a/n: this is kinda reminding me of that one anime “kiss him, not me”
... did you pray today?
suggestive content inside!
ft. isagi yoichi, itoshi rin, itoshi sae, kaiser michael, nagi seishiro, mikage reo, shidou ryusei, karasu tabito
isagi yoichi
bro just wanted to cuddle and play mario kart but now he’s standing behind you like he just walked into a crime scene.
“why is he blushing while getting slammed into a locker?”
you go, “that’s just their love language.”
isagi: “THEIR LOVE LANGUAGE IS VIOLENCE???”
full-on existential crisis. like he’s rethinking your entire relationship.
“so… you’d rather have someone call you a filthy brat and collar you than hear me say ‘you look cute today’?”
you: “yes.”
he’s quiet the rest of the night and suddenly tries being meaner the next day. tells you “move faster” while opening the door and then IMMEDIATELY apologizes.
now thinks you’ll only find him hot if he scowls and calls you a peasant.
itoshi rin
you were reading it peacefully until you felt a cold stare from the doorway.
rin: “you’ve been rereading the same five panels for 20 minutes.”
you: “he just said ‘i’ll never love you’ while pushing him against a wall… it’s peak literature.”
rin blinks. “you need help.”
and yet… two days later he slides you a different BL manga and mumbles “this one has less dubcon.”
does NOT make eye contact.
will never admit it but he read a full one just to “see what the hype was.” he absolutely got invested.
“the writing was ass but the pining was kinda raw. 7/10.”
secretly furious when the top breaks the bottom’s heart. “what a manipulative loser. i hope he gets hit by a car.”
itoshi sae
he finds it on your ipad, opens it, and is hit with a panel of a guy crying during a kiss.
“is this supposed to be hot or are you mentally unwell?”
you: “both.”
stares at you like you just confessed to murder.
“this guy has commitment issues, the other one’s a masochist, and they’ve kissed five times in a public bathroom. i’m judging you so hard right now.”
continues reading.
eventually he starts live texting you commentary on your own manga.
“chapter 18: he cheated and the other guy forgave him. you like this???”
“chapter 21: now they’re crying and having shower sex. y’all really do need therapy.”
and then two hours later: “okay, but lowkey that last panel hit.”
he’s converted. unwillingly. but he is.
kaiser michael
sees the cover and snatches your phone like you’re watching porn in public.
“you’re reading this?!”
reads the title aloud: “‘he growled in my ear: you’re mine now, kitten’...”
wheezing with laughter.
“what the hell does that even mean?? are you okay??”
you just smile and go, “you’d look good saying it too, actually.”
that shuts him up for a solid three seconds.
then he’s like “say less” and tries imitating the line. except he does it in a fake german accent.
now he’s obsessed. he wants to cosplay the mean top.
“should i dye my hair black and wear a leather collar?”
you: “i will leave you.”
also starts quoting it randomly. “kitten, i’ll destroy your sanity” while brushing his teeth. help.
nagi seishiro
you thought you were safe because he never cares about anything.
you were wrong.
“yo, why is this guy crying with a handprint on his thigh?”
you: “he’s healing through pain.”
nagi: “he’s healing through getting railed.”
next thing you know he’s laying on your lap, scrolling through your reading list like it’s the sunday paper.
“this one’s plot is trash. but the art’s cool.”
asks if there’s a BL where the guy just naps and gets spoiled. you show him one. now he’s hooked.
goes “based” every time the bottom gets carried to bed.
unbothered king. will read it in the middle of practice if bored.
mikage reo
“WHAT are you READING??”
covers his eyes like he’s a victorian man seeing a woman’s ankle for the first time.
“wait is that a leash? WHY IS HE ON A LEASH?!”
you just say, “he lost a bet.”
reo.exe has stopped working.
refuses to touch your phone. “it’s tainted now.”
but then spends the next three hours grilling you like a concerned mom.
“do you like that? do you want me to talk like that?? should i start growling at you?”
you tease him and say “yes daddy~”
he goes pale. the most flustered he’s ever been.
next day he tries calling you “bunny” and ends up choking on his own tongue.
shidou ryusei
oh he’s into it IMMEDIATELY.
snatches it and starts flipping through like a pervert at a used bookstore.
“yo, this guy’s calling him his prey. that’s hot.”
he finds the filthiest line and yells it across the room.
“’rip me apart like the beast you are’ – YOU LIKE THIS SHIT?!”
you’re hiding under a pillow in shame.
shidou: “nah nah this is PEAK. 10/10. i’d do that too.”
probably acts out the scenes just to mess with you. full feral.
now he uses manga pickup lines on you in public.
“hey, princess. want me to ruin your innocence?”
sir, this is a costco.
karasu tabito
catches you mid-giggle and snatches your phone.
“what’s so funny– OH HELL NO.”
“did this dude just moan from getting his hair pulled?”
gives you a 10 minute roast session.
“bro’s getting railed and saying ‘thank you’ like it’s customer service.”
reads the whole thing anyway. gets unreasonably invested.
“why is this actually good though. that bastard cheated on him and he STILL forgave him? nah. couldn’t be me.”
sends you memes of your fave couple like “this you?”
pretends he hates it. secretly makes an alt account to read fanfics of it.
I hate how people talk about Mel and Jayce's relationship
Because every time someone comments about how Mel manipulated Jayce, someone else jumps to say "nooo, Mel couldn't have done something like that she's perfect and has never done anything wrong in her life, ever"
And I'm here like "You are making a good complex character into a bland, one dimensional character"
Because it's clear to me that Mel acts the way she does Because of her trauma. Like I can imagine conversations with her family probably felt like playing 3d chess with a metaphorical sword hanging over her head
No wonder that she kept her distance from Jayce for 7 years, and when she makes a move, her first move is manipulating him
She does it, because she doesn't feel safe to go and just open herself and be vulnerable with Jayce
She probably expected Jayce to be like her family, to play 3d chess with her and him to make his next move
That's why she was so surprised when instead of him being calculating and manipulative, he was earnest and kind. And then after that, after Mel confirmed that Jayce's feelings were honest, she started to open herself up to him
And you see, both Mel and Jayce started their relationship on opposite sides
Jayce gave her his trust 100%, he was vulnerable and showed his belly from the beginning, but that was because he was expecting the same from Mel
People can think whatever they want about Mel and Jayce's relationship, but that doesn't changes the fact that Jayce himself felt used by Mel
And I think everyone is way too eager to dismiss Jayce's feelings in the fight scene between him and Mel with Viktor. He probably had PTSD and didn't feel safe at all (You can tell by the way he clings to his hammer as a form of protection) and mind you, Mel also had gone through an extremely bad experience
But once again they found themselves at opposite sides
Jayce was angry and hurt, he probably played every interaction he had with Mel in his head again again while on that cave, and felt like an idiot for not realizing that she had been manipulating him
He also was in an extreme state of distress and was searching for someone to blame for what had happened. He was calculating what really went down during the bombing of the council and came to the conclusion that Mel could've saved Viktor, so he decided to blame her
Mind you, that wasn't a logical decision, Jayce was lashing out because he was in distress and Mel was just the unlucky one, but it could've been Cait, Vi, or his mom just as well
Now, Mel on the other hand, she was accustomed to the kind and soft Jayce, the one that earnestly listened to her, she went there searching comfort from him, just to find out that Jayce had changed and he was now attacking her
That's why she was so taken aback by him, you can hear how her voice trembles and her body language showed that she was nervous
Once again they found themselves in opposing sides because Mel didn't clarify what she did and that she no longer wanted to manipulate Jayce.
She did that to Jayce because of her trauma, that was how she was used to relationships to be, but then when she realized that Jayce was being honest, instead of clarify things, she let things stay how they were; maybe afraid of how Jayce would react
But it was because she's the daughter of her mother and that influences how she acts on her relationships
People are totally going to hate me for this, but let's compare Mel and Jayce's relationship to Viktor and Jayce's relationship since Viktor and Mel mirror each other
When Viktor and Jayce met, they didn't like each other at all lmao
But then the trial happened
Both Viktor and Mel looked interested in Jayce, but for two different reasons, Mel looked at Jayce and thought that Hextech was a good investment, meanwhile Viktor was interested in Jayce's dreams, in his values and the willingness to stand up for them
And I'm not saying that Mel was wrong and Viktor was right, I'm saying that Mel is a perfectly reasonable person while Viktor is insane lmao
Because then Viktor goes on and risk his entire life for Jayce, like I can't even say how much Viktor would've lost if things hadn't gone as planned
Yet, he did it for Jayce, he was honest since the beginning and put his life at risk for him. In turn Jayce also gave up everything for him like Viktor did, but in this case both him and Viktor were on the same page since the beginning
In the scene right before the fight when Viktor appears, Jayce is quite literally standing between Viktor and Mel with a choice to make
He takes a look at Mel, before turning around to face Viktor and giving his back to Mel
The camera lingers on his back, where we are shown a pattern that represents both Zaun and Viktor (as I've already talked about in this post)
Tumblr media
I really love the cinematic language of this scene and I want to do an analysis of it, but long story short, this is the visual language of arcane telling us that Jayce is choosing Viktor
This is where their romantic relationship is officially over
Not because he didn't care about her, or because he didn't love her. But because at that point in the story he couldn't trust her anymore, even if she was saying the truth, he wouldn't be able to trust her, so sadly the relationship between them had already ran it's course
I think it's interesting, because we rarely see this kind of relationship between a woman and a man in media, where the relationship simply isn't mean to be anymore, but both the man and the woman remain in good terms, and I appreciate that Arcane shows how sometimes, even if a relationship is extremely important and you love the other person, not everything is meant to last forever; but that doesn't make it any less important
GymRat!Miguel Part 7
content warning: mentions of blood, some violence, FINALLY 18+ so MDNI, dry humping 😁, like a smidge of fluff, some Spanish (as always, correct me if I'm wrong)
word count: 2.3k (we're back with some sense)
Tumblr media
Gabriel jumped as the grand doors slammed closed.
The room was quiet minus Kron groaning on the floor.
“I’m going to kill him!” he shouts, hand trying to cover his bloodied nose.
“If you try, you’ll be disowned,” Tyler frowned down at him. Gabriel had never seen him without a smile on his face. It was scary yet familiar. It was times like this that Gabriel was reminded that he and Miguel were different.
“Dad, are you fucking serious? He just assaulted me!” Kron cried in disbelief as Nancy tried her best to clean his face.
“It was nothing you didn’t deserve. Surely, you’re grateful that I pulled him away.”
“Tyler. Our son is hurt! And bleeding out on my expensive carpet,” Nancy bit back, snapping at a butler to bring her a health kit.
“My other son is also hurt,” Tyler replies with his voice even, looking at Nancy and Kron as if they’ve lost it.
Gabriel could see George tense up at Tyler’s acknowledgement of Miguel as his.
“All this time and effort spent on putting this whole thing together and for what? What did I gain?” Tyler said lowly as he took his glasses off.
“I’ve spent two decades raising you and the older you’ve gotten, the more you have disappointed me. Twenty years spending dollar after dollar on your schooling and wellbeing. Ten years of watching you grow. Ten more years of watching you drift and become someone I’m not sure I can even call mine. What happened to my boy? What have you done with him?”
Gabriel was outwardly wary of what would happen next. Internally though? He was bullet-pointing every dig.
His name wasn’t Gossip Gabriel for nothing.
He watched as Kron shook on the floor. A simple hangnail could probably make him breakdown.
“Almost two decades I’ve watched from the sidelines as my son grew up without me. I watched as another man took my place. I watched as my careless actions were formed into a son that I could not connect to, talk to, or even hold. So please, forgive me if the few times, no, the one time I have the opportunity to build that connection, I am furious that it is ruined by my eldest son and his entitlement.”
“Entitlement!? What entitlement? Every time I say something it’s wrong, but Miguel is all of a sudden this perfect son that you wish you had. I wasn’t the one that ran that girl away.”
“Watch it, boy,” Conchata hisses.
“No, you watch it!” Nancy snapped back.
“Silence!” Tyler’s voice boomed throughout the house. “What all of you fail to realize is that the special guests have been iced out of my home! Kron, I may not have been there for you at every moment, but I have never taught you to disrespect women like you’ve done tonight. You owe several apologies.”
“You cheated on mom to have a bastard baby.”
Gabriel only blinks as Tyler moves to hit Kron in the mouth. Just as fast as Miguel.
“And what your mother fails to tell you is that she cheated first. I am not perfect, but neither was she.”
“Escandaloso,” Gabriel leans over to whisper to Dana.
“It would be best for us to talk after you’ve gone to the hospital. Make haste, lest you make me angry, son,” Tyler says with venom-coated words.
Nancy, with help from one of the butlers, scrambled to get Kron up and out of the door.
Tyler took a deep breath and put his glasses back on. He turned to Conchata as started to unbutton his cufflinks.
“Conchata,” he said. “Level with me, what did you really not like about Miguel’s girlfriend tonight? I know you too well and her weight is not the problem. She’s beautiful, intelligent, talented, and we can both see that Miguel loves her.”
It was Conchata’s turn to look shocked. She looked around to everyone staring at her, waiting for a proper answer.
She stuttered trying to get her sentences out, “Why am I being held to the fire right now?”
“Ma, I’m not sure if you remember, but you quite literally criticized her body and expression,” Gabriel said. He was never afraid to step up to her when it came to Miguel, he just had to gauge how far he could go.
“I didn’t intend to do that,” Conchata starts.
“Honey, you stopped her from eating her food,” George chides. “It doesn’t get any worse than that.”
Conchata was silent as she sat back down, staring at the centerpiece, “I just-”
“No puedo creer que fueras tan grosera con ella, Conchata. Miguelito is right. You should be ashamed,” Gabriel’s abuela said. (I can’t believe you were so rude to her, Conchata.)
She got up and came to Conchata’s side, “You have fussed at him all his life. Nothing he did was ever good enough for you. You can not choose now to try and control him.”
“Tyler, can you have someone take me back home? Oh! And pack me one of those yummy cherries too,” she said as she gave him a hug and a pat on the cheek. She then proceeded to give everyone a goodbye but her daughter.
“I truly apologize for this hectic night,” Tyler announced to the room. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go see how I can make this up to Miguel. You all can use my home however you need.”
Gabriel cleared his throat now that he was left in a room with his parents and Dana, “Well. Did you guys like the meal?”
“I thought the filet mignon was fabulous,” Dana replied.
They leaned together and giggled.
Gabriel had a lot to spill to Miguel.
─ ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ ──── ♡ ─── ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ ──
You wake up unbelievably warm, the bed sheets piled on top of you. You lift your head from the thick pillow, and waited as the AC hit your face.
Sun was coming in through the cracks of the drapes. It was all quiet except for the light snore coming from Miguel’s side of the bed.
You turn to him and he’s out from under the covers, bare muscly back to the world. You swallow around nothing as you watch the ripples of his muscles move with his breath.
Who knew you were going to wake up to this delicious sight?
You move quietly, shuffling to the bathroom to pee and freshen up. You felt miles better than you did last night. You felt even better as the memories come back to you. Your boyfriend really took a stand for you.
When you walk out the bathroom, you don’t expect Miguel to be sitting up on the edge of the bed, bed head and sleepy eyes.
“Are you up? I didn’t mean to wake you,” you say, voice light and soft.
“I moved over and you weren’t there,” Miguel yawned. “Couldn’t go back to sleep ‘till I found out where you went.”
You shuffle to his side of the bad, “Just went to the bathroom.”
He opened his legs and pulled you in. He laid his head on your chest, kissing the skin through the fabric as placed his hands on your ass.
“G’morning,” he said, voice scratchy.
“Morning to you too,” you said while scratching his head.
“How are you feeling?” he asks, peering up at you.
You give him a small smile, “I’m feeling better.”
“Yeah?”
You nod your head, bringing your hands to the nape of his neck. You twirl your finger is his hair absentmindedly.
He puckers his lips, waiting expectantly. You giggle and lean down pecking his lips.
GymRat!Miguel who hurries and brushes his teeth, wanting to continue this mood. You were rocking one of his shirts and some panties. He still wanted to see if the offer from last night was still up.
GymRat!Miguel who crowds your space on the bed, hovering over you as he kisses your lips. He’s feeling particularly ravenous and all he wants is you. Your grip on his shoulders becomes tighter as he slots his tongue in your mouth.
GymRat!Miguel who is definitely a virgin. Sure, he spent his free time researching how to make you feel good. He even shyly asked Peter for advice. It still doesn’t negate the fact that he has put none of these things to use.
He pauses as things start to get even more heated, sharing this news with you. You’re a little shocked but you promise him it’s fine to take it slow. You have never done penetrative sex with anyone either. Feeling more relaxed, he dives right back in.
GymRat!Miguel who has you grinding above him. Your clothed sex slides against his, two layers of cotton separating you both. You’re whining against mouth as he moves your hips. He’s humming at every noise you make.
As much as he wants to go further, he has a need to fulfill your desire first.
Plus, he was dumb enough not to bring a condom.
He opens his mouth to take a nipple in through your sweater. It’s thick, but he sucks hard enough to get the job done. He watches as you tilt your head back and moan loader, hips stuttering.
Miguel watches you in awe. He’s never seen you like this before. So needy for him. It was a contrast to how you usually let him take, take, take.
He moves quick to lay you on top of him, finally getting his dream of you over him.
“Miguel?” you ask, wary of your weight.
“Nuh uh, baby keep going. Don’t stop,” Miguel says, swerving your hip along his.
You fall down from a sharp buck of Miguel’s hips, moaning from the friction and holding your hands against the headboard.
Miguel was in heaven watching you roll your hips faster and faster.
GymRat!Miguel who flips you over as soon as you come. He is grinding better against as you lay on your back. Your tits ate bouncing under his sweater with every jerk. He wanted to take it off, but you were still a bit self-conscious.
For now, it was fine because you looked so good in his clothes, nipples hard and ready just for him to devour. In the future, he hoped to have you see how beautiful you are in his eyes.
You’re sensitive, thighs tightening around his waist. He softly moves one of them, gaining better access for his bulge to slide against your clothed clit.
“Miguel!” you cry, voice high.
“Give me another one, come on,” he says, mouth moving to your ear. “You’re doing so good. Just need one more.”
He feels you nod your head, arms wrapping around his neck.
You yell his name as you come again, thighs shaking.
GymRat!Miguel who comes through his underwear on top of you. He pulls your sweater up a tad to watch some liquid pool on your stomach.
“Fuck,” he heaves, smearing it with his thumb. You were fluttering against him softly.
You were laid out under him coming down from your high. Your breaths were slowing down and you were looking at him, blissed out.
This was better than his dream.
He rubbed up and down your bare thighs, watching as they twitched when he grazed your inner thighs. He walked his fingers down to your panties, running his knuckles over your mound. The fabric was wet, evidence of what you two just did.
He starts to pull the fabric tight, watching as your folds imprint through the cotton.
What a pretty sight. Your body so open with his cum on your smooth skin.
Mine. All mine.
He’s about to press against your clit again until you say something.
“Huh?” Miguel asks, in a daze.
“I asked if you could go get a wet towel,” you say.
“Shit. I’m so sorry, baby,” he says, frantic movements as he hobbled out of the bed. He was acting like an idiot, gawking at you instead of talking.
GymRat!Miguel who realizes that he put you both in a sticky situation as he wipes your stomach off.
“It’s fine. ‘Was hot,” you whisper, completely flushed.
“Yeah? You liked it?” Miguel asked, giddy.
You nod your head, “You made me feel really good, so yes, I did like it.”
“Is that so?” Miguel mumbles, leaning close to your face. “Might have to do more next time.”
“More? Like what?”
“Like finally getting you to sit on my face,” he says in your ear. He finally got you to put your weight on him, all he needed was that final push.
“Oh my god,” you drone, covering your face dramatically.
“What? Baby, it’ll be so fun! I promise!”
GymRat!Miguel who finally checks his phone while you both wait on room service.
Abuela 💕:
On Writing Characters with Hyper-Specific Triggers (and a PSA)
*Trigger warning for this whole post
Once upon a time, I had a roommate. Nothing looked wrong from the outside and this narcissist probably thought nothing was wrong on the inside, but there was. I knew moving in with them was a mistake, but financial circumstances demanded I shut up and try to make the most of it. Enter the longest thirteen months of aPTSD-inducing psychological stalemate I hope to never repeat again. Seven of which were on overdrive.
The why doesn’t matter. The how doesn’t matter. What matters is that this roommate was so toxic, there was no point in attempting to talk things out because any little thing could be a land mine for starting an argument and it didn’t matter what casualties got caught in the crossfire, so long as this person “won”. Casualties including our friendship. So if any little thing, anything at all, could be a land mind, what do you do if not try to completely avoid them? For seven months.
This person’s work schedule was incredibly erratic, but they were gone more hours than not, and when they were home, they were usually asleep. In those few overlapping hours where we were both awake, I could not leave my room for fear of said verbal land mines. If I wanted to cook, leave the apartment, get anything from the living room or my desk that I had to abandon, get more water from the fridge, I had to do it before they got home, or after they went to bed, and I could never predict when they’d be home.
Luckily (or unluckily), my room faced the parking lot, and this roommate drove a car that made a very specific sound. From the moment I heard that car from my room, I had about 20 seconds to shut down whatever I was doing in the apartment, retreat to my room, and lock the door. Overreacting? Potentially, I wasn’t in any physical danger, but this was seven months of near complete isolation from any other friends, and the fear of making it worse kept me silent.
So, 20 seconds from the moment I hear the telltale whine of that engine. If I couldn’t hear the car, our front door had a lock that chimes and I had about 7 seconds from the first chime to the door opening to get the fuck out of the way. I lost weight that I couldn’t afford to lose from being unable to cook past a certain time in the evening and staying locked in my room on their days off.
Seven months of only having a door chime and an engine to tell me when it was safe and when I had to run.
These chime locks are the new normal and one year removed from that apartment, every time I hear it and I’m already stressed, it’s a trigger.
Every time I’m on the highway and I see a dark grey sedan of that make, that is the most important car on the road until I make sure it’s not their car.
Every time I see a dark grey sedan parked in reverse, as they habitually did, that is the most important car in the parking lot until I make sure it’s not theirs.
Every time I have to drive near a certain location where they work, I am watching for that car.
I could pick it out from 200 others. I know the license plate, I know the license plate frame, I know what sticks to the windshield, I know what hangs from the rearview mirror. I would know that car rusted and crushed in an impound lot.
So. Today I drive home and I pass a rear-parked car one turn before my unit, and I think to myself, “that’s not X’s car, but I noticed it, I’m never not going to notice it.” It wasn’t the same make, model, or color, it was just a sedan with its nose sticking out and that was enough.
Then I turn the corner. And there it is. My ex-roommate’s car.
I shit you not it was like I had a warning from the Universe before it hit.
I don’t need to check the windshield, I know it’s theirs. I’ve seen it in my complex once before. The last time I did, I’d parked my own car and waited, got out, and hid between two others in the dark, waiting for this person to leave.
Today, in broad daylight, that car is empty. They happened to arrive while I was gone for 30 minutes. So I park, and I wait. I watch that car from my side mirror. I scan the sidewalk for them and I don’t see anything. I have frozens that can’t wait.
I’m thinking to myself, of all the parking spots in all the parking lots, of all the apartments in this godforsaken town, you parked right behind my spot.
Nothing happened, and even if we crossed paths, nothing probably would have happened (that’s how they worked, pretending nothing was ever wrong and that I was the crazy one). But I still waited, and when I decided to leave, I moved as fast as possible without drawing attention. One whole year removed from that person.
It doesn’t take physical abuse, or yelling and screaming and death threats. It doesn’t need to be a parent or a sibling, a relative, or a romantic partner. This person never touched me, never screamed (though they did yell on occasion), never actually threatened anything. They never called me names, were never direct with any of their insults, were never explicitly petty. I had no proof. Ever.
I just had example after example of every time they cut me down to feel smart, picked on me to feel better about themselves and project their own insecurities and jealousy, or used me as their emotional punching bag because of choices they made.
So a year after completely cutting them out, there’s that fucking car parked outside my apartment.
Media portrays “triggers” usually only in characters who are veterans. Noises that sound like gunshots, or thunder, fireworks, because that’s what we think of when we see PTSD—people who fought in wars.
It’s not like I sit around fixating on that car or that door chime (and actually with exposure to that chime every day with no consequences it’s gotten better), but that’s the point. They come out of nowhere when you least expect it. They don’t prepare you for their arrival, they just happen.
I didn’t have anything close to a panic attack, but nothing in the universe was more important in that moment than making sure I didn’t run into this person, until I calmed down.
Trigger attacks don’t have to be this big flashy thing, born of big flashy movements. It can be something as subdued as going quiet, staring at the thing, and your brain dumping everything else except all the potential outcomes of not escaping this situation immediately. It’s just a car. It’s not like an evil Big Dick truck with smokestacks and truck nuts and a MAGA flag on the back. It’s just a nerdy sedan that could belong to anyone.
So. PSA.
What you think might be an overreaction by someone you care about, they probably think is an overreaction, too. Did I want to have fate shit on my day and spend extra minutes under the hot sun when I have chores to do? No. But it happened.
What you think a trigger is supposed to look like or what the symptoms are supposed to be are not just what’s dramatic and flashy for the TV. Here I am writing a whole blog post about it instead of just moving on and I can't go back and check for typos because I don't want to have to reread it.
Do you want to die on a hill of “get over it” when someone you care about would love nothing more? Just. Be there for them.
And to writers, artists, anyone—it doesn’t have to be dramatic to be the most upsetting part of someone’s day. Including such simple things as a door chime, or the sound of an engine, really helps with visibility so people like me don’t think “I’m not allowed to feel this way, I didn’t actually suffer like a shell-shocked veteran”.
Most of us never will. That doesn’t make any of our hardships any less valid. Please be kind.
Companion rambles: could they operate a vehicle + other random assortment of headcannons
Curie:
Knows every single part of a car. Knows every driving safety rule. Do not let her near a vehicle. Her driving style is mad-max levels of fear. She will giggle and comment about how much fun she’s having, and how she wishes she did this sooner. Danger level: 9/10. You won’t die but you’ll never look at a corvega the same.
Cait:
In trying to hotwire it, will either blow it up or will turn it on for just enough time that the alarm goes off. If she did find a functioning one, it would probably end up in a ditch. Danger level: 7/10
Deacon:
He can drive, but in the same way that a elderly person would: you don’t know if he should be behind the wheel, but goddamn it if he’s not going to Tokyo drift into the last parking spot in front of the super-duper mart. Danger level: 5/10
Danse:
Why concern himself with pre-war ruins that aren’t even technologically interesting? He *technically* can fly vertibirds, but also…heights get to him sometimes. If he did have a car, he would dive super safe and basically act like a midwestern dad. Do NOT try and merge without signaling in front of him. Danger level: 2/10
Mac:
Really good at taking cars apart. Only knows about driving from comics. TBH I think he would be the type to only learn how to ride a bike at 10+ years old. He can’t even start the car. Danger level: 0/10
Hancock:
Would try to drive but would get either lost or just confused after about a half hour. Would probably try to add a bunch of stuff on top, like a missile launcher or a turret. It would be so decked out that it wouldn’t even be functional anymore. Would take joy in doing demolition derbies with Mac. Danger level: 3/10
Piper:
She knows how a car works, but like, only from reading 4 pages of a really old manual when she was board. She claims to defunct know how they work, but has no idea what to do when she lifts the hood. Either causes an explosion or ends up breaking at least one part. Never gets it moving. 6/10
Gage:
He can probably figure it out after about a day or two of trying to compare it to a coaster. When he does start it, I think he would actually hate driving. He’s the sole one in control, with his foot on the gas the whole time, and there is no way in hell he is ready for that. Would probably make up some excuse about how raiders don’t need to use cars to make their points. 2/10
Preston:
The safest driver in the world at first, but then he starts going after bigger things. Trucks would help with transporting supplies to settlements, he argues. If we had a garrison of tanks, imagine how many people we could protect, etc. He’s not wrong, and not bad at driving, but he really needs to stop adopting every bubble-top he comes across. 3/10
Nick:
Can drive. Will drive. Then will have to confront the reality of his muscle memory being from a person he never really was. He’ll still take a spin now and then, especially if going long distances, but he prefers to walk. It’s more….him. 1/10
Longfellow:
Cars, no. Boats? Hell yeah. He’s taught just about every sailor far harbor has. But try to get him to drive on land and he will straight out refuse. It’s not who he is. 0/10
Strong:
No. Car for throwing. Inside small, only for weak human. No need metal shell to go fast. 0/10
Dogmeat:
Sticks his head out the window. Can honk the horn. 0/10
Codsworth:
Listen, somewhere in his programming is knowing how to drive a car. Also how to assemble one from 4 cans and a high powered magnet. Can drive it either completely normal and safe or in a way that would make vin diesel scared. 7/10
X6:
Danger level: 10/10. He would succeed in the way Hancock could not. He turns it into a weapon. Stuff of nightmares. Avoid at all costs.
