Using numerous historical records, they recreated the location, printed slightly lighter versions of the armor (well, helmets only for some) they wore, and dull weapons with embedded stun shockers that would create a kinetic "bump" upon contact to prevent actual injury by pushing the person back instead.

Once everyone was geared up the atmosphere changed, both visually as the holographic projectors did their thing, and from the Humans themselves - their demeanor became that of... wilderness. Ferocity. Deadly focus. It was quite fear inducing even from afar.

Then the defenders in red, the "Spartans", created a sort of spiky dome with their shields and spears. Then the attackers in blue, the "Persians" unleashed a terrifying volley of arrows, the sky hologram went darker, then a bright beam of light shone upon the defenders as they swept off arrows stuck to their shields in dramatic fashion before proceeding to charge towards their assaulting foes.

We noticed the "Spartans" were all much larger than the "Persians", and actually were equipped with subtle and very modern exoskeletons. Perplexed by this we asked if these Spartans had a very particular technological advantage for their time:

"Well, not as far as we can tell, but based on the materials we have, Spartans were, like, really buff and super strong compared to the average person of the time. Plus, according to the feats of strength they supposedly displayed, we suspect they became an extinct branch of Humanity at some point, so the exoskeletons are there to mimic what we think they were like. Anyway, look, this is the coolest part."

As they spoke, the artificial gravity was lowered slightly and there was a spike in the power output from the exoskeleton equipped Spartans. Now they were flinging the approaching Persians dozens of feet into the air, a single bare-chested man kicked three of them at once backwards at a whole group, knocking the wind out of them.

This sort of extreme violence continued for several minutes.

Suddenly, an incredibly large Persian man on a throne was carried to what was effectively the center stage. Him and a heavily bearded Spartan exchanged a dramatic dialogue, the Spartan threw his spear at the Persian, who dodged it with a single turn of his head, then proceeded to summon a massive horde of small Persians who quickly began to overrun the Spartans.

There were bodies and shields and spears and pieces of armor flying everywhere, but gradually all the red became engulfed by the blue, and only one remaining Spartan managed to wriggle his way out of the carnage and make a run for it back to their city in the distance.

Seemingly satisfied after plucking out the bearded Spartan from the pile, the giant Persian roared in triumph and this is when the reenactment ended and everyone gathered for a feast.

He had found you, laying in your room, empty bottles of pills around you, vomit all over the carpet, vomit all over you, your desperate pleas while you tried to make yourself throw up. Your voice breaking when you tried to undo the damage. It wasn’t a pretty sight.

He sat by your bed that night. He couldn't sleep. Every-time he closed his eyes, all he could see was panic in your eyes. Self-hatred, it flowed through your veins like the blood that had dripped out of your wrists on all those nights full of hurt.

You hated yourself, absolutely hated yourself for attempting and failing. You hated that John had found her in the room. You hated that things would never be the same, you hated that you had just exposed your biggest secret, your depression. You hated it.

You know he is there, but you refused to acknowledge it. After all, it is easier to pretend to sleep. You couldn't hear John speak or breathe. He never blinked, never shifted his head. He just sat, still, holding his own self-hatred. He couldn't understand why you would hurt yourself, when he has been your sole supporter all these years.

"If you left," John said, the tears in his eyes falling on your hair. "What do you think would happen to me?"

"Your depression isn't your fault. You are not a horrible person." John said forcefully. "You deserve to be happy, do you understand me? You deserve to be happy." John felt his heart break even more, hearing you speak that way about yourself. His own self-hatred was becoming unbearable.

"You'll live without me." You answered. "You'll be able to move on." You heard his words, but it felt like he was speaking a foreign language. It didn't feel like he was speaking to you, if those words would be for you. "No, I won't." John said firmly, holding your arms tightly in his grasp so you would look up to him. "I won't be able to move on, you know why? Because I love you."

“I can move the sun and the moon for you, just give me time. I'll make you happy, I promise. Just don't give up on me."

"It’s no use." You murmured. "I would have to make myself happy too, John. I can't rely forever on you."

"I just don’t know how to be happy. I don't feel the sun on my skin whenever I'm outside. I don't enjoy my favourite meals anymore. I can't be bothered to shower." You admit shamefully, which type of adult struggles with these type of problems? You had a house to live in, a loving partner, nothing to complain about, and yet life felt so, so, so incredibly empty.

"But what if I can just sit in the shower and not wash myself?" You whisper. "What if I can just eat plain spaghetti instead of cooking a full meal? What if I never turn into a functioning adult again."

His words made sense. No matter how much your mind tried to fight it. It couldn't.

"But what if I never get better?" You retort. "What if this is my life?" The thought alone send shivers down your spine, life like this wasn’t worth living, at least not to you. "I understand," he said softly, pulling you closer to him, his chest rising and falling with each breath. "I won't lie to you, and I don't know if it'll get better, but I'll be here for you, and I'll fight with you."

"I won't give up on you, no matter how many years we'll spend fighting, even if we'll never get to the end of it. I love you too much to let you go." John added. "We can make it happen. But you need to accept the help, you need to believe in a world where you can be happy, okay? No matter if it takes 1 year, 2 years or 10 years. We'll make it there." John said reassuringly.

"All you need to focus on is getting through today. I'll focus on the rest of your life."

“But it worries me, John.” You answer, and it is not like you really try to talk him out of it, your mind was just flooded with worry. "But I don't want to feel like last night ever again."

"I promise that you're not going to feel that way again," John assured you.

Your upset best friend, Park Sunghoon hangs up the phone for the third time this week. You called late at night to ramble, rant and cry about your boyfriend who has not been the best towards you these days. The other days of the week were spent face to face, you; running over to his house to ramble, rant, and cry about the same thing. With the messy emotions boiling within you, you fail to notice the same messy whirlpool of emotions swimming in Sunghoon; the man who remains stuck in the friendzone.

"Why don't you just break up with him?" He says as he hands you another box of tissues. "You don't understand, I love him."

"You'd know how it would feel if you loved someone the same way I love Jake." He looks at you as you wipe your tears, seeing you in this state for a past few weeks has given him another reminder why he wants to protect and care for you.

"I do love someone, maybe even more than the way you love Jake" Oh, how he wished he could cast a spell over you to stop crying over your boyfriend and wake up and see what was right next to you, him, Sunghoon.

"Who's that?" This time you actually stop and look at him for the first time again since you opened the door for him. He shakes his head indicating how he won't tell you. "I did not come here to discuss my love life while yours is in shambles." and with what he said, you start crying again, lightly shoving him "Then why did you say it, gosh I hate you." Not effected by your emotional and physical jab, he laughs it off and pulls you into a hug "I love you too."

Back at his house, he knew you were right. It doesn't matter if the odds are not in your favor, it doesn't matter if the other person is hurting you emotionally, if you love them...you stay because apparently love is blind.

Sunghoon lays in his bed as he tries to fall asleep, his head turns to the left to look at the picture frame with a photo of you and him during your vacation after high school graduation.

The two of you got permission from both of your parents to go to Switzerland together, you traveled for the first time, just you two. Luckily you did not get lost or had any bad experiences and made yourselves back home in one piece. The picture reminded him always of that core memory you two had but also reminded him of when the kind lady who took the picture for you calling you two a cute couple, you were about to correct her, but Sunghoon just said thank you and joked about how he can't wait to marry you when you both are older.

Sighing as he turned off the lamp, bitterly going to sleep as he realizes that that may never happen, as long as you're under Sim Jake's love spell.

He's sleeping alone with his weighted blanket while you were cuddled up with your boyfriend. Jake was always the cookie cutter, picture perfect, straight out of a rom com (written by a woman) type of man.

The past week just seemed like an off day for you both, a misunderstanding and conflict that caused you to keep running to your best friend. "I'm sorry for the past week baby, I did not mean to make you feel the way you did." Jake soothes you by caressing your back as you lay you head on his chest. "I'm sorry for projecting my work issues on you, I don't know why I let myself do that."

"It's okay, I totally understand. I mean I would get mad at anyone too if my boss was a complete asshole." You both share a chuckle and Jake kisses your forehead, falling asleep to each other's warmth and presence.

The next day after work, you made your way to the main exit of the building and you find both of the men waiting for you outside, leaning against their cars. "I didn't know you and douchebag made up" Sunghoon was never fond of Jake, he would tell you how he could see pass his "good boy" facade, Jake on the other hand never understood how Sunghoon could hate him when they barely exchanged a few hellos back then. "Dude, I-" you walk up to Jake quickly asking him to just leave it. "Baby, don't. It's okay, He didn't mean it."

"Yes, I did." Sunghoon says, not sparing a glance at the both of you. "Sunghoon, why are you here? and what's with the attitude?"

"I thought to pick you up since you and lover boy were not on good terms, but I guess you two made up." He tries to play off the jealousy by shrugging and having a nonchalant look on his face as he enters his car. "See you around, yeah?" Without waiting for a reply he drives away.

"That best friend of yours really hates me" Jake draws little circles on your back as he pulls you closer for a hug. "I guess after all the times you've made me cry the past week, it's safe to say, yes he does."

He laughs, looking unbothered by it "As long as you're always gonna be mine" he says as he opens the passenger side door for you. "Always."

The car ride home was better than the last time he picked you up, now there was less tension and back to normal. His free hand holding yours while stealing kisses from you during a red light or a stop sign. "Why don't we head to the store, pick up a few things and drive home to have a game night?" Jake suggested. "Let's make sure this game night, stays as game night, alright lover boy" teasing him with the nickname Sunghoon called him earlier. "You know the name Loverboy doesn't bother me, love." shaking your head, you just continue to watch Jake drive you both to the store safely.

Meanwhile back at the bar, Sunghoon is seated next to his friends Heeseung and Jay. "You know, Sunghoon...I hate to say this but-"

"Shut up, I know you're gonna tell me I don't have a shot with yn"

"Oh, so you do know but still decide to be an idiot?"

"We might as well record our same old advice and you could replay it every time you're back in this situation." He rolls his eyes and shoves Jay's face away from his. "You guys are such 'great' friends" the other men laugh and nudge Sunghoon. "We are only joking but also, it's the truth man, I know you like her a lot but she's happy with Jake."

"Also, he's not that bad of a guy, I used to work with him." Heeseung shares a short story on Jake. But this doesn't change Sunghoon's outlook on him. "Clearly jealousy is clouding your judgment" Jay takes away the drink from Sunghoon and reminding him he has work tomorrow.

"Wait, have you ever tried confessing to yn?" He shakes his head, telling them how it was clear that you never liked him. "Really? I remember her telling me in college that she had a crush on you when we were in-" not caring about the rest of Jay's story, he books it out of the bar and heads to your house. "Great, you made him delulu, thinking he can pull her now" Heeseung and Jay laugh seeing their friend stumble out the chair and run to his car.

Yes, he was still sober, but he was drunk on you. As he drives, he's thinking about all those times back in college, wondering if you really had a crush on him back then. But as he pulls into your driveway, he spots Jake's car in the garage, oh how lovely.

Nonetheless, he's at your door, ringing the doorbell. "Hello how-" Jake's sentence was cut short once he sees who's at the door. "I need to talk to yn" Sunghoon enters your house, not looking at Jake and just makes his way over to you. "Okay..." Jake awkwardly closes the door and goes over to you.

"Woah, Sunghoon what are you doing here?"

"He said he wanted to talk to you, So, I'll give you to some privacy. I'll be in the room, love." Kissing you and walking away. To this, Sunghoon looks away but rolls his eyes. Once he hears the bedroom door close, he jumps into action. Sitting next to you on the floor that was decorated with blankets, fairy lights, and snacks. The tv screen illuminated by the game you put on pause.

"Jay told me you had a crush on me back in college, that true?" You blink more than you usually do, bewildered on why that made him come over so suddenly. "Well, yeah but only for like a month?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" You think back to the time, and you remember the day you did see him in a different way. "I think it was just because I just got dump by that guy I was seeing, after that I kind of reminisced about how different you two would treat me." You looked at Sunghoon who was waiting for the direct explanation, so you continued. "You always treated me like a princess and reminded me how worthy I was, so I guess during that month I started developing feelings for you."

"And?"

"I didn't do anything about it because that same month, you started dating that one girl from your class." At this point, Sunghoon was now wishing he just stayed for the rest of Jay's story. "Why did you rush all the way here, also, were you drinking?"

"Maybe..I was with Jay and Heeseung."

"Answer my question.

"I did"

"The first question, Hoon"

"I don't remember what it was."

"Don't bs me, you're not drunk" He sighs and quickly thinks on an excuse to give you. "I was so curious, that's all, besides I was driving home, thought I stop by" you weren't convinced in the slightest, but you know there was no more budging this dude, so you nod and tell him whatever.

A little later Sunghoon goes back home, and Jake comes back into the living room. "What was that about?" Sitting back down in his spot and picking up his controller. "He found out I had a small crush on him back in college before you and I dated, he was curious..."

"Well, yeah the guy has a huge crush on you now, maybe he thought you were-"

"Wait what?"

"Oh, c'mon babe, it's so obvious." You pause the game again and face your boyfriend, waiting for more explanations. "I'm a dude, he's a dude, I basically know he likes you based off on how he acts, especially around me with you." Still not believing it, Jake suggests you call him, being direct and just ask him. So, you do, he hands you your phone and you dial his number.

When you call, Sunghoon has just entered his house and locked the door when he hears your ringtone. Picking up and he immediately wants to go run and hide. "Do you like me, Sunghoon?"

"Of course, you're my best friend. Of course-"

"Not platonically, Sunghoon. Do you have feelings for me?"

"What you gonna do if I do?"

As much as he wants you to drop that boyfriend of yours and be with him, he knows it too selfish to take you away from your happy relationship. But with the number of times where he put you first before his own self, was we wishing you would do so? "You know what, yn let's forget about it, I don't want to ruin what you have with Jake" then hangs up the phone. "So?" Jake looks at you with 'I told you so' look, making you glare at him. "He does..."

"You'll probably have to talk to him seriously next time you guys meet" this time when you pick up your controller, you don't have the same excitement you had before, now you're nervous and scared that you might have just lost your best friend. "I'm sorry I even brought that up, now you're in this predicament."

"No, babe. It's fine, it's better I find out than never."

"What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to help him move on?" confused with your own answer that it came out as a question. "That'll be awkward."

And for sure it was, because the next two days Sunghoon manage to dodge you and hide away, but those victories of avoiding you ends now. You stand at his front door. With the help of Jay and Heeseung, you three manage to plan something to get him to come out of his house. Sunghoon got ready to meet Jay but when he opened the door to leave, he saw you. "We need to talk."

"What is there to talk about? Yn, you know now that I like you but there's nothing you can do about it." Sunghoon tries to walk past you to get to his car but when he looks in the driveway, his car isn't there. "Jay took your car but don't worry, you're coming with me." Taking his arm and bringing him to your car. "I don't understand how you say I can't do anything about it when-"

"It's not like you're going to break up with Jake to be with me yn, you love him. You don't love me that way, I can't just force you to." You stop walking and face him again. "I can't get you to fall for me by making moves on you because that's not fair to Jake and you. So please, just forget about it."

He gently removes your hand off him and fixes his jacket. "Just go home yn" you try to walk close to him, but he just backs up, away from you. "Sunghoon, I don't want to lose you."

"But yn, I already lost you years ago." He takes your silence a chance to retrieve back into his house and locking the door behind him. The barrier keeping you two apart.

jotaro normally takes showers. will only take baths when his body really aches and he'll put epsom salt in the water and use the whirlpool. if you suggest to take a bath he will accept after a bit of mumbling. he'll be really fond of natural bath bombs in the shapes of starfish, especially if their foam makes the water a pretty purple. he won't tell you that immediately though. loves to hold you while you two soak in the tub, and when jotaro's feeling particularly soft he'll comb your hair and help you wash it

josuke prefers showers normally since they're fast and overall he enjoys the sensation better. he does also like bath bombs and bath decorations, so if you have those things he'd be easy to convince to take a bath instead. may take a quick shower after a bath if the water changed color due to the bath bomb. josuke plays in the bath sometimes. squirts you with water through the toy sharks for you to retaliate by squirting him with the set's octopus. it's silly and you often have to clean water off the floor when you're done

giorno is serious in his grooming habits. he likes to feel clean. he'll be partial to baths but, often because of time, giorno will settle with taking a shower. on days that he isn't heavily required to work he'll indulge his preference of baths and relish the time he spends with you. washes your hair and body, gentle and attentive to what products and tools you like him to use. he'll put epsom salts in the water, essential oils, and petals that should have positive effects on the body. he'd love it if you combed his hair, but he wouldn't be upset if you don't. just finds your hands running through his hair calming

MY GIRL AAHHH SHES BACK!! okay SO. inkopolis square. but dead. its a bleached coral forest basically. there seems to be this sorta of,, electricity thing going on throughout the trailer that we can see on the lobby tower. overall looks dope as hell

WE HAVE THE FULL FIT!! FOR BOTH GENDERS!! okay first of all what are those ink tanks? sorta looks like those IV bags. same with the outfit,, the shoes sorta look like casts and the clothes look like some sort of sensory deprivation tank suit. a lot of medical vibes going on from the white color and everything. i love it

PEARL BOT! no questions about it, marina definitely made this for her (the wives :D) its interesting that pearl isn't actually there (marina isn't either, ill talk more about my theory later) but she can still talk to us through this robot. also love how marina added the sliding eyebrows to make it more expressive LMAO

i love how we can ride pearl bot as well. i think this will be an important feature, wonder if we can control her when this happens :O

okay what are these? i think the first one on the left is a mem cake, not really sure what the others are though

okay im seeing a theme of electricity and we can see in the background it sort of glitching, so i think side order might a simulation or something. the huge orb in the middle is definitely some fucked up zapfish (where you end the level im assuming), but its glitching and then a ton of the skeleton creatures come out of it

it looks like a ton of dead fish (dedf1sh...?),, we havent seen any octolings that you need to fight yet so these seem like the new enemies replacing them for side order. though i do wonder if we'll ever encounter an evil octoling (or inkling or salmonid, who knows) also are these an entire new species? or just some simulation creature

i also love how instead of ink, its the same electricity we've been seeing used to summon the weapons. this whole realms creation definitely has something to do with marina since its side order and its super technologically advanced

okay WOA numbers. definitely something marina would implement. i don't have much to say about this but yea, im loving the tech-y themes going on. it also seems like pearlbot is helping you fight these guys since she is shooting lasers at them. if she's sorta like small fry, i wonder if we will ever get to use her as a bomb, or if she is automatic

also its confirmed that the octoling is indeed agent 8! i was like 90% sure but im glad its definite

"just another bystander who got sucked in." what sucked them in? my theory is that marina somehow trapped them in a simulation she made of a world thats orderly- maybe she made it after the final fest?or is this an already existing place? maybe some whirlpool was created after octo expansion and this place exists under inkopolis square?

her glasses are different! since she doesn't have the hypno shades anymore she prolly has much more awareness now since she isnt being brainwashed, though she is still sanitized- but i think the music is counteracting the effects of that since shes a dj and shes always wearing headphones

also why is her arm bandaged? what happened to her? also all this time i thought she was wearing a tshirt LMAO

i am a huge dedf1sh fan and i have quite a few theories about her, so i hope she is an important character in the story of side order and we get some backstory

the color chips seem to be like, stat boosts? and also 8 started to gain color once you add them! its sorta like deep cut's colored fingers. wonder if this will be a new feature after the dlc! i loveee customization options

welcome to a redacted soul eater au post! here, i try and discover what it'd be like if you merged the soul eater world and mechanics within the redactedverse. this is the seventh post in the series of posts i'll make regarding the individual characters and their listeners! we've got lasko & coworker/dear on the menu. enjoy!

lasko — soul type: weapon weapon type: bo staff compatible with: coworker (primarily), freelancer (secondarily)

lasko, as i've mentioned in gavin & freelancer's post, is both a weapon wielded by freelancer and coworker. this is because freelancer wields all of the D.A.M.N. crew + gavin. however, because coworker has a much more personal and intimate relationship, they've developed a closer bond in terms of their souls, and suit each other primarily.

being an air elemental, lasko's element often comes out during combat considering he's a weapon. (think avatar: the last airbender if you like). elementals also have souls that're much easier to match wavelengths with.

the reasoning for lasko's weapon is both heavily inspired by aang from atla, but also purely from the fact that i can imagine him also wielding a bo staff. he isn't necessarily the most confrontational sort, so it makes sense he wouldn't really have a blade or a gun, but something still quite defensive.

coworker —  soul type: meister strongest meister ability: equal level - each meister common ability is on an equal level with this meister. they hold no specific strongest ability from soul perception, soul resonance, or wavelength control. compatible with: lasko (co-wield)

coworker co-wields lasko alongside freelancer. at first, it's assumed that coworker's fine with freelancer being lasko's meister, but considering one's soul can match with several others, it didn't pose an issue for coworker and lasko to have the desire to be meister/weapon partners later on.

being a water elemental, coworker's element merges with lasko's element when in combat. this often creates a whirlpool effect (something that i'd delve into more if i wanted ... special attacks are my fav).

i almost forgot about coworker, unfortunately :,D after realising that co-wielding is a cool ass concept, though, i decided This Is What I Am Going To Do.

lite backstory: for every post i make for the characters, i'll add some au backstory to really fill in some details you may be curious about!

coworker, after getting to know lasko, assumed he wasn't wielded by anyone. this changed once he explained that his friend, freelancer, wielded several of their other friends- including him. because of this, coworker then assumed that was that, and they wouldn't have a partnership as meister/weapon- which was completely fine.

even so, eventually lasko came to them and proposed the concept of being partners in such a way, purely because he wondered if he could 'be of use to them'. after explaining to lasko that he didn't need to 'have a use' for them, lasko thanked them sentimentally and poked once more at the idea. coworker accepted more enthusiastically than they'd intended, and they soon got to training together.

BUT ANYWAY. WHO CARES IF THE SMP IS ENDING SOON THE WHIRLPOOL STREAM STILL LIVES RENT FREE IN MY BRAINNN!!! pKuervo is literally my favourite character i have rewatched it’s pov of the whirlpool stream so many times you would not believe. The way pKuervo is quick to reassure people and makes everyone is safe is soo dhsjkdgkjs. Holding pWater’s hand on the way down the whirlpool, the way he freaks out when he can’t find pWater. Then, when pGraecie is scared to jump down into the underground city, pKuervo once again offers to hold her hand THE PARALLELS AUGH! Also later on, when everyone’s running from the collapsing city, pKuervo STAYED BACK to make sure everyone else had gotten out before it. Even going back for pOwen when she stopped to grab the special lamp. pKuervo is literally the coolest character ever and you can not change my mind :))))

Also can i say. i am very proud of how this piece turned out, especially the drippy water effect on pWater and half of pKuervo to signify them standing in the spray of the whirlpool, and then the drying water on the other half of pKuervo and pGraecie, as they’ve had time to dry off a bit. Less proud of the background but eh let’s just ignore that dgsjkgdkjsgkj
