*The blanket shifted and Nico made an annoyed sort-of grunt, burying himself further in Will's arm, of course he did. Will squeezed his eyes shut- willing every muscle to be still* *Will was in a war-zone, and the gods were laughing*

*Trapped in a convoluted version of the tango, Will was so utterly fucked. Half his body hung out, tense, it was a sacrifice. Cold air brushed him mercilessly as his senses fought whether or not Will freezing his ass off was worth it for not waking Nico up. (it was). One arm was being held in an iron grip, shackled with Nico's sleeping face resting on it, shoulders trapped by the fear of awakening the Son of Hades. Was 17years of good deeds enough to release him from his predicament? He loved Nico, and Nico using him as a personal pillow/space heater was his favourite thing ever...*

*But by the Gods did it stop him from wishing and praying to every God ever that Nico would roll over- just like- A LITTLE BIT- PLEASE? Fuck no.* *Will steeled his heart. Now or never. He took a deep breath, his pure and fair Montague heart surging him on, there was a breakfast at stake. His darling Juliette needed him.* *Will took the chance and shifted his arm a little bit and Nico grumbled, scowling in sleep* *....*

*Will was a weak, weak man...*

Since I'm therapist-posting recently:

Legitimately self-compassion is the biggest mental health life hack of all time. I'm NOT talking about self-esteem. You do NOT have to like yourself one bit. You don't have to believe that you're a good person who deserves good things. You just have to believe that you're a person who deserves the things all people deserve.

You can't get from "I'm the Worst" to "I'm a worthy and lovable person" without passing through "I'm just a regular fuckup like everybody else."

Try it on. If you're really addicted to being mean to yourself, you can start by framing it as I'm Not Special. Embrace being a regular fuckup like everybody else.
