im glad people are becoming aware of how fucked up it is that folks online have almost completely forgotten about trans, intersex and other identifying folks who have gotten bottom surgery. the only times it's brought up, it is to be cruel about the result of the surgery, always saying heinous things about it.

nobody seems to embrace or celebrate for folks who have gotten bottom surgery. we don't have to ignore or demonize these folks, they are still trans, unless they personally now identify as cis. most people who get these surgeries still identify as trans or intersex but even if they don't, we should still celebrate for them.

getting bottom surgery is not a gross thing or something to look down on. these folks are doing what they need to in order to feel like themselves. why are we more accepting about folks who get top surgeries, breast removal or augmentation or experience breast tissue growth, but completely outcast people who have gotten bottom surgeries?

why are we unnecessarily fixating on the genitals of strangers again? the status of their post-op genitals are none of your business. you are not entitled to know the status of their vagina or penis. that is for them and any potential partners to know about. people who have gotten bottom surgery are allowed to love that part of their body, no matter how their surgery affected them. it's none of your business. stop focusing on the genitals of strangers when it doesn't concern you. don't speculate on what post-op genitals are like if you don't have them, yourself.

Day 7 update. I feel pretty good considering last night was the worst pain I’ve felt this whole time. But I just woke up a bit ago and felt great. I actually got up and walked on my own for the first time. That’s a huge accomplishment for me. But yea, tomorrow I get my bandages off and I’ll get to see my scars for the first time.

I finally hit the launch button on GoFundMe for my surgery fund.

I... if you can donate, that's awesome, but really, the operations are in November (yeah, I have GCS and FFS just a week apart from each other and that recovery is going to suck). The biggest thing I'm asking for and need is help sharing right now. I don't do reddit, or twitch, or streams, or twitter anymore, or any of the media where a lot of folks manage to get their funds magically filled by big donors. If you do, mind putting the word out about mine over there? I just want to be able to make sure I can recover in peace without the rest of my family struggling to make up for what I can't do during that time.

A Step by Step Guide to Losing Your D**k

I recently wrote a series of messages to my aunt talking about all the steps I need to do to get bottom surgery, a penile inversion vaginoplasty at Mt. Sinai, in the next year or two. Its a long list. And everytime I added something she had a sort of “wow thats rough” reaction, but to me its just the to do list. So I decided to write them all out.

Start transition DONE

Most insurance companies and surgeons require you to have socially transitioned and have done HRT for at least 1 year at the time of operation

For social transition, this was March of 2024

For HRT it will be January of 2025

Get a referral to a surgeon (I am here)

In my case, Mt. Sinai in Manhattan

My Doctor referred me, but Mt. Sinai takes self referrals

Start laser hair removal

Book a consultation (I am here)

Go to laser frequently enough to satisfy surgeon

Convince Mom and Dad to help out DONE

Get 2 letters

Social Worker (1)

PCP's Office

Social Worker (2)

Mt. Sinai

Get a gender affirmation loan through the local credit union

Work two weeks so I can take in pay stubs

Get a letter from anybody (probably my HRT prescriber

Meet with representative and either open a line of credit or take out a loan

Consultation with Mt. Sinai’s team

Wait 3-6 months (I’m here)

Bring letters

My insurance only requires 2, less than Mt. Sinai thinks insurance will need, and Mt. Sinai provides 1 of them. Meaning the other is through IHS Behavioral

Schedule Social Work pre surgical consult appt

Schedule Mental Health and Medical Clearance with Registrar

Go to NYC for 1-2 nights, maybe for each, hopefully just once

Maybe also for Social Work thing

Consult with Surgeon

Wait until I’ve worked about 12 months to get short term disability

Probably summer (ASAP) and when Mom has time off

Do logistics

Book an airbnb, hotel, etc for recovery

Starting a few days after OR date and lasting a little over a month

Within a 90 minute drive of Mt. Sinai

Rural enough that Mom is comfortable to help and can go home if someone else shows up

Probably New Jersey, maybe Hudson Valley

Has at least 1, preferably 2, separate bedrooms

Has 2 beds

Has ADA accessible entry

Has a kitchen

Has a full bath, preferably and a half

Has internet and preferably a TV

Lodging for Mom + Dad/care team while I’m in OR

Probably 5-7 days

Preferably with a 1-2 day buffer period before OR date (included in the 7 day estimate) so I can enjoy the city

Either within a short walk from Mt. Sinai or on the same subway line as Mt. Sinai

RW, 1, or ACE

Someone to help me get from recovery location to Mt. Sinai while not in NYC

Develop and get list of items needed for recovery

Dilator

Pads

Gowns/loose clothing

Comfort food

Coordinate missing 8-9 weeks of work

Take care with who knows what before I leave

Inform HR, department manager, and work friends whats up

Get cleared for surgery and get an OR date

Probably a 6-12 month date from clearance

Get pre clearance testing through PCP or a lab in hometown

Go to NYC for that if need be

Week Before Surgery

No alcohol, no aspirin, NSAIDs, herbal supplements, or fish oil

Consult for other non aspirin blood thinners (which I am not on)

No alcohol for 3 weeks after as well

Tylenol/Acetaminophen is okay

Go downstate

See friends from NYC?

Bring Mom/Dad?

Do something fun in Manhattan

Get a COVID test

Take an anti-bacterial bath

Day before surgery

Breakfast before 9am

Last meal

Drink Golytely bowel solution around noon

Chemically induced diarrhea

Clear fluids only after golytely

(includes coffee, tea, water, broth, some juices)

Nothing goes in the stomach after midnight

Some medication okay with a sip of water

HRT???

Get surgery (a penile inversion vaginoplasty)

1 to 1+½ days

I’ve heard of as long as three

3-5 day hospital stay

Mom and Dad probably stay in Manhattan then

Go to recovery location

Drive with seat reclined

Stay for 4 weeks, pretty much bedridden

Go to follow ups

Dilate

Go home

Continue recovery for another 2-4 weeks at home

Follow up with PCP

Return to life

It's been three weeks since my orchi! The incision is healing up really well, and the area is starting to look normal again aside from a few bumpy spots. The small marble-sized knot of swelling at the end of one of the cords seems to be getting softer and smaller. It's totally comfortable to cross my legs now without feeling like anything is getting squeezed or pulled at inside. Wearing tight pants and even just regular pants feels so much more roomy now rather than everything being crushed together. I'm interested to see how much the remaining skin will shrink and tighten up over time.

Also, my hormones have been in flux post-surgery as my testosterone crashes through the floor, and this week my temperature sensitivity started to change from easily overheating to getting too cold even with the thermostat set to 78. This is the outcome we were aiming for. Altogether this was an excellent gender surgery, and I would recommend it for anyone who wants to substantially reduce the size of their genitals and nuke their testosterone for good - the path to the ballless life is an easy and rewarding passage 👍👍

Went out with this gem today. I had to hit up my favorite burrito spot before my surgery tomorrow morning. I won’t be able to eat solid food for a long time. So I wanted something good for my last meal.

**Little life update**

Some of you are probably like wtf surgery? What many of you probably don’t know is I’m sick. The really bad kind of sick. The sick you don’t come back from. I’ve made a few post about it in the past. I don’t really want to get into it right now tbh. My Doctors and I are doing everything we can to get me moderately healthy again but in all honesty it’s not going well. Initially it was but now it is not. 

We’ve encountered some serious complications and they need to be addressed asap. We found these out at the end of November during a MRI of my kidneys. I was very lucky a specialist was able to notice the anomalies in my scan. When I was told if I’m being honest it was a hard pill to swallow. Those of you that seen that post know how it went. All the work we had done before this was basically for nothing.

We’re hoping that this surgery will alleviate some of my current health issues. This could be the cause of some of them. It’s going to be a long process and multiple treatments/surgeries and recovery this year. But I’m hopeful that everything will work out ok.

So with all that said I probably won’t be posting much for the next few weeks. I’ll probably do a before surgery post and one after. But that’s probably it for a little while. I gotta focus on my health because it’s rapidly deteriorating.

In the event that something wild happens I just want to say I love all of you and thank you for everything. This platform has given me the courage and confidence to be myself. That’s all because of each and every one of you. The stories I get in my DMs inspire me to be the best I can be for you. I know a lot of people look up to me.. that’s still wild tbh. To be a role model for someone is the greatest honor and feeling ever. Nothing compares. So thank you.

I’m going to leave my blog up. If a trans person stumbles across it. Hopefully it will inspire them to be themselves unapologetically. Know it’s never too late to be your true identity.
