ur not even a system stay out of syscourse jfc
Correct, I’m not a system, but I was.
Two years ago, I was a system. Two years ago, I had a system, I had headmates, I had the tracker.
Two years ago I was WRONG.
It is okay to be wrong, it is okay to think you have something when you do not, but what isn’t okay is to insist that - again, read very carefully here - a disorder cause by severe and repetitive childhood trauma, is able to be willed into existence.
You literally, physically, medically, scientifically cannot make a system by pure will. It’s not possible. You have to have a break down of your psyche in your formative years, caused by severe and debilitating trauma.
How do I know this, you’re probably asking yourself while you think up a snotty little response.
Extensive - almost a decade long - research.
And I don’t mean those little quiz’s online either, I mean digging up multiple year long extensive studies, and cross referencing with the last 4 editions of the DSM-5, digging up control studies where self made systems are the control in said study, and cross referencing that. Reading textbooks on psychology and the way the psyche handles traumatic input, and how enough horrific trauma causes DID to develop. There was an entire independent 3 year long study I did myself, where I asked my own psychiatrist (s) some questions about DID and I then cross referenced that with everything else I’d dug up. I looked into the earliest known cases of DID, and cases that were tracked back when it was still referred to as MPD. I’ve looked into cases on DID in children, and what age groups are the most likely to be affected/hosts for the disorder to set up. I’ve looked into the different types and subtypes of traumatic input that causes DID to develop. I’ve cross referenced all of this, along with what I thought was DID (my own experience). And then I cross referenced all a of that again against endogenic phenomena theory using multiple of the same research methods with exactly 0 data cross linking.
And if that’s not enough, my best friend is a psychologist. She went to school for and got a degree in psychology. I ran everything I just mentioned by her, and cross referenced with her own textbooks and curriculum.
So I am - at the very least - 88% allowed to speak on syscourse issues.
Endos literally, physically, medically, and psychologically aren’t real, hope that helps ☺️☺️

Steph's Year of Recovery
So! Danny noticed that a new face had made it's way into town. Two new faces actually, an older lady known as Dr Leslie, and a girl about his age called Steph.
He first met them when he was at the hospital for one of his parents. They had stood too close to an explosion again, and he met them while he was in the waiting Area.
Dr Leslie was a strict but obviously caring older woman, who seemed to be the one taking care of Steph as a kind of maternal figure, or maybe more like an Aunt. She greeted him simply and then walked away to talk with the Secretary, leaving him to talk to Steph.
Steph was a blond girl in a Wheelchair, and he could see bandages piking out of her clothes as he talked to her. She explained that she had been in an Accident a few weeks ago that left her wheelchair bound for a while, and that she had come to Amity for their surprisingly good Medical Centers.
He and Steph got along really well, and by the end of it he asked her for her Number so they could continue talking later. They stayed in touch, and when she was finally permitted to leave the Hospital, he introduced her to his friends. They all got along like a House on Fire, both figuratively and in one memorable case very literally (Vlad had pissed them off okay!)
Eventually Steph recovered enough that she moved from a Wheelchair to Crutches, and their shenanigans got even more chaotic (Vlad hadn't even pissed them off, this time was just for fun)
The only thing Danny could complain about was the fact that Steph was hiding something from them.
She said that she had been in an Accident a while ago, which was why they had come to Amity in the first place. But Danny knew it was more than that.
He could sense lingering traces of Death coming from her after all.
...
Steph honestly loved her current life.
Sure she had lost everything, her home, her health, her friends, her life, but she had gained new things too! Like Danny and the Gang! They were honestly some of the best friends she had ever had, and for some reason they just clicked with her instantly.
Danny was interesting and funny, Sam was vegan and a badass, Tucker was smart and witty, they all fit with her personality perfectly! It almost felt like she bad been friends with them for years. (She ignored the way her heart skipped a beat when she saw them)
But she still couldn't shake the sense that they were hiding something from her.
She knew it had something to do with the Ghost Problem in the town. And wasn't that a kicker, there was a whole Supernatural Ghost Outbreak in this Town and nobody knew about it. Dr Leslie had said that Amity was off the map enough to hide from Bruce, but she hadn't mentioned it was hidden from the Justice League itself!
Danny, Sam, and Tucker definitely knew more about it than they let on however. Whenever a Ghost Attack would happen, at least one of them would rush off with some practiced excuse and return after the Ghost Attack was over all dirty. She could guess what was going on, and she really didn't like it.
(This had killed her, she had died doing what they were doing, she didn't want to lose them)
Eventually she had to confront them, coincidentally on the same day they decided to confront her.
"Are you Vigilantes?" / "Did you die?"
"..."
"What?" / "What?"

hey i just wanted to shout out my fellow endogenic multiples - whether it turns out you're traumagenic later or not, you're safe here.
i personally am not sure if there's forgotten trauma memories for myself, or if the trauma was too subtle for me to consciously acknowledge it, or if i just turned out plural all on my own, but at the end of the day the thing that matters most is that my system is real, respectful of others, and on the way to find mental stability

Okay guys so I know we all lightly tease Charles for seemingly never actually thinking through any of the emotions he ever has but it occurred to me, what if he has alexithymia?!? Between his very obvious ADHD and his apparent lack of ever addressing how he feels, alexithymia would explain a lot actually. I mean even in hell he's saying he needs more time to process how he feels and basically wants to NOT have to think about it in the moment on the stairs. Like that boy has alexithymia. He needs his reflective time Edwin, give him time.
Also also like he never wants to talk about himself, only address other's needs and feelings which is just so alexithymia?? I mean I know it's partly his trauma response but also it's such an alexithymia personality trait too. Alexithymia makes every choice he makes make sooooo much more sense. That and the adhd impulsivity, but it didn't really feel like it was the whole picture. Alexithymia was the missing key

reasons to breathe and keep going:
your friends WILL miss you
your pets won't understand why you left if you don't
you can't listen to your favorite song if you don't
you can't have your favorite food anymore if you don't
you'll never pet another dog if you don't
youll never hear a cat purr again if you don't
statistically humanity is getting kinder, what you hear is the loud minority because it's easier to list the bad stuff
you'll never get to see your favorite musician live if you don't
you'll never get to watch your favorite movie if you don't
you'll never get to play your favorite game if you don't
it's okay to struggle and I can't promise it will get better but you can do hard things. because you've done everything you thought you couldn't before. take a rest and keep going because your best isn't stagnant but you're best is enough

So funny when people make posts like "if you REALLY had [disability here] you wouldn't be ABLE to have a social media account" like god forbid disabled people do anything that isn't lament in total isolation until they are Fixed or until they die.

also can we just like acknowledge the absolutely cracked writing juice that went into 03 mustang's introduction. occurs presumably in the midst of some sort of mental breakdown driving him to visit the orphan child of the innocent doctors he murdered -> he proceeds to accidentally witness one of the greatest alchemical crimes known to man -> attempts to enlist the deeply traumatized eleven-year-old amputee who committed it -> by the way the military into which he is trying to enlist this child is also the source of his own deep trauma. what the hell dude. funny that he did that though

64.3% anti-endo.
These results make me incredibly happy.
Living with DID is fucking hard, and people who are trying to invade DID spaces, and dismiss or discount the way this disorder is made, makes it even harder.
The amount of trauma needed to cause DID is debilitating, DID is debilitating.
There are some days that I lock myself in my room because it's a bad PTSD day and bad PTSD days can worsen DID symptoms. To avoid being a dissociated mess, to avoid being silent all day, to avoid the possibility of switching around my sister or nephews or dad - who don't understand why I don't act like myself sometimes.
I would very much like to keep my space endogenic and endogenic supporter free, and I am succeeding so far.

"Splitting/forming introjects over really new interests/things you've only heard of is a real thing!!"
Sigh
Say it with me now. You cannot under any circumstances form or split alters unless you're going through high stress or trauma. Simply having an interest or hyperfixation in something does not cause you to form alters. Dissociation has to occur and so does high stress or trauma. - August

okay so now that i’ve officially finished watching leverage i just want to say that maybe i’m obsessed with this show on multiple levels and something about how it hits so many itches in that it’s about found family and it’s about fucking over bad, rich guys (no billionaire bootlicking in this show! and i fucking love it) and it’s also about how sometimes the bad guys are the only good guys you get and it’s also about how we are all stronger together it’s about how at the start of this show, we have all of these characters who are largely used to working alone and being alone and yet the show concludes that ultimately, we are better when we are together and by being together, we might be able to leave something behind that is bigger and brighter for the next people in our generation and no man is an island and no person is meant to beat goliath on their own or whatever

I find it almost funny the women who shame Alicent for being a victim of misogyny in a patriarchy she did in fact NOT create and had always existed. I find it funny because they think they’re better than Alicent, they think if they were in Alicent’s position that they would’ve instead been some feminist icon- no, if you dealt with the same trauma, the same manipulation, the same system that Alicent did, you would’ve ended up just like her. Not better, in fact maybe even worse.

We think over half our alters are introjects but still it’s so scary to develop one because people are so extremely weird about that kind of stuff. We’ve had old mutuals go around saying they downright didn’t respect introjects as people. Often in fake claiming campaigns introjects are a common reason to attack a system. Like people think introject = high kinning nd therefore isn’t actually valid when it’s like. An introject developing isn’t based around choice ! It just happens ! Nd they are in fact the most common alter type even among non online systems!! It’s common for older systems to have introjects of old tv characters, we’ve known younger system with exclusively pokemon alters, it’s common and understandable given media’s effect on folks yet people think it’s a valid reason to attack others!! It’s ridiculous, we often feel horrified being openly plural due to introjects because of all the implications people may assume of us. We’ve avoided fandom because saying “x character is in our head” feels like an instant okay for people to be weird to you and/or uncomfortable around you. It’s so mind boggling to us the audacity and cruelty of others for something so easily understood and explained.
