I don't think it's talked about enough that Azul canonically has an eating disorder.

Just think about that for a minute: The guy is so obsessed with keeping his weight down so he'll never be made fun of for his weight ever again that he actively counts the calories of EVERY food item, refuses to eat the tasty food he wants to eat out of paranoia (even his own birthday cake), and is so skinny that he fits the smallest size of the ceremonial robes, A.K.A. Riddle and Epel's.

And he's only 17.

had to make a new account for it tho… so it is back to grinding again like crazy for those sweet sweet SSRs. luckily tho it the masquerade event is still in session and starting the game from scratch does have its own benefit of being able to get gems easier 😆

I know I joke that "if you liked Monster High and Ever after high, you now like Twst."

But looking back, especially with the new character reveals, it hits me how similar the naming conventions of the franchises are. Thats most likely because they are so similar in premise. These beloved and iconic characters reimagined as teenagers in a school setting and all their names reflect that.

But like Fellow Honest. Riddle Rosehearts. These are some Ever After High ass names. Meanwhile in Monster High you got some characters that are basically their parents name but broken up or slightly changed. Frankenstein- Frankie Stein. Dracula-Draculaura. Frollo-Rollo. Gideon- Giddel. Ariel- Rielle.

This isn't to make fun of it or anything, just thinking out loud. Especially since I'm no better. Belle-Isabelle. Lol

I’ve seen some short fic writers bummed out in the tags by the novel-length ao3 post, and to all short fic, oneshot, twoshot, or drabble masters out there, I want to shout very loudly that your stories are important and valuable too!!! A healthy fandom ecosystem depends on all types of writers thriving and doing what they do best. Many people don’t like to read longfic and your stories connect with them in meaningful and lasting ways! That post was not meant as a value judgement on short fic.

Malleus and Lilias relationship is so much more complicated than father son and honestly i don’t think they are father son or anything close to that

Lilia was probably still mean old war gen Lilia when Malleus hatched, I doubt he was doing any proper nuturing to Malleus as he dislikes kids. Knowing Lilia he saw it as repaying a favour to Mallenoire and Revaan. I personally interpret Malleus’s upbringing as Lilia treating him like an adult and therefore he and Lilia have more of an underclassman upperclassman relationship.

But I think it gets more complicated than that. Specifically when Silver came into the picture, being that Lilia seems to still be Malleus’s primary princesitter Mal would’ve been around. I’m gonna say that Lilia wasn’t his war general self but definitely wasn’t our current Lilia when he took Silver in. I do believe he was craddlenapped from a human royal family, specifically the one that was faught in the human-fae war. But that’s not this posts topic. Being that Malleus is around I think he’d get roped into babysitting Silver and that babysitting would soon turn into straight up parenting which ends up changing Malleus and Lilias relationship to more of that of a married couple.

In the point of the story where Yuu is iseksied I’d say they’re still in that “married non romantically bc we have a kid together lol” dynamic

I really wanna give thoughts on mals overblot snd how it affects my interpretation of their dynamic but I dont know enough of it :(. Will update this when I read it!

I love Malleus and Lilia and they’re so weird n complicated and please leave your thoughts below id love to hear other interpretations

Writing about an authoritarian theocracy did not make Margaret Atwood an authoritarian theocrat.

Writing about adultery did not make Leo Tolstoy an adulterer.

Writing about a ghost did not make Toni Morrison a ghost.

Writing about a murderer did not make Fyodor Dostoevsky a murderer.

Writing about a teenage addict did not make Isabel Allende a teenage addict.

Writing about dragons and ice zombies did not make George R.R. Martin either of those things.

Writing about rich heiresses, socially awkward bachelors, and cougar widows did not make Jane Austen any of those things.

Writing about people who can control earthquakes did not make N.K. Jemisin able to control earthquakes.

Writing about your favorite characters and/or ships in situations that you choose does not make you a bad person.

It’s a shame that in this day and age these things need to be said.
