DCXDP Neubauer twin experiment

Tw: description of blood, mention of gore

It wasn't unusual for grandfather to ask the twins to battle before him, usually that meant he wanted to see their skills and techniques more than the actual winner of those little sparring matches

And so the twins quickly learned to make a show of those performances doing combos of the newest techniques they learned in hope of impressing Ra's.

But usually these duels took place every three months. For their grandfather to ask for them on such a random day was strange but the twins never backed down from a chance to fight against each other and show off in front of their grandfather.

And so, here were the two boys, Damian and Danyal facing each other sword in hand in a bare sparring field, a smirk on their face and brotherly rivalry roaring in their eyes.

Damian made the first move leaping toward his brother swinging his sword at him in one powerful strike, Danyal easily parries it. Damian, using the momentum lunge up raising his sword way above his head and and bring it down on Danyal who swiftly got out of way. Damian immediately follow up with a swing that Danyal avoid as well, crouching down and leaping sword first at his brother's chest, Damian quickly turn on his heels and strike for his brother's feet in hope of destabilizing him but Danyal was quicker, jumping to avoid the blade while bringing down the butt of his katana on Damian's shoulder making the other jump back to put space between the two of them.

The battle continues with clashes of swords in a dangerous dance, Damian uses strong, powerful stark moves putting strength behind every blow while Danyal prefers more graceful moves using his opponent's movement against themselves using less of his own strength but making his guard easier to pierce.

The twins know each other's way of fighting inside and out that is why when Damian saw Danyal prepare for a new move he had just started to get the hang on, he knew he could destabilize his brother by striking his supporting leg mid spin

He did so barely missing the sword of his twin but managing to make Danyal fall and quickly cutting his brow in the same motion to draw the first blood and win

It's over before either could realize it. Danyal is on the floor panting looking up in disbelief as a line of blood drizzles from the shallow cut on his face before he starts giggling, quickly followed by Damian.

They always liked fighting against each other, it was so much fun and no one else could match the thrill of fighting someone who understood you as much as your twin

Grandfather walked over to Damian solemnly congratulating him as two of his men took Danyal's shoulders to help him up

Something felt off...Ra's congratulations felt heavier than it should be, an unsettling feeling growing in Damian's gut as he looked over his brother being dragged away by the two men who helped him up in confusion

"... Grandfather?" He asked only for Ra's to follow after them.

Damian stood there confused and feeling uneasy, he turned on his heels going to his mother's quarter. Surely Grandfather was just reprimanding Danyal for losing? Or maybe asking him to show him the new move he was trying to make before being cut off? Surely nothing bad…

"رئتي...where is your brother?"

His mother inquired as he walked up to her

"Grandfather took him away after our duel, I'm not sure why"

His mother's face turned into a frown in confusion before realization and horror quickly settled in, she got to her feet without a word, dread slowly creeping on her face as she dashed out of the room.

Seeing her face the uneasy feeling quickly grew into worry, consuming Damian as he followed after his mother as she rushed to the Lazarus pit.

The doors were per usual closed but it didn't stop his mother from banging on them.

"Father ! Father open!"

And the doors did open Ra's walking out unbothered by his daughter's emotional face or Damian's weariness followed by two dog-like creatures, looking like something taken out of a nightmare being well over 6'6.

Talia threw a glance in the room they’ve just exited, a shake taking over her.

"Father...what did you do... father...?"

She asked in a broken voice and Damian dared a glance in the room and felt sick in his stomach, a sharp pain feeling like a dagger had been planted in his heart as the breath was suck right out of his lungs.

The room was its usual vile green but it was now stained in red, red on the tiles red splattered on the wall and red dripping in the water...Danyal nowhere to be seen

Damian doesn't know how long he stood staring at this green room violently covered in red. When he came to himself his mother and grandfather were long gone

He dared to step inside. At the edge of the Lazarus pool, a rune circle was sketched on the floor.The runes like everything else in the room were covered in blood.

Damian was bred and raised to not be squeamish at the sight of blood, and he never looked away when taking down his enemies resulted in their gore painting the floor

But right now Damian felt sick,his heartbeat drumming in his ears painfully. As he turned to leave he saw his twin's katana planted on the floor and took it.

Damian doesn't remember how he came back to his room, the room he shared with his brother, his other half, his twin.

His twin that he'll never share a space with ever again.

The reality slowly sunk in.

Danyal,his blood,his brother, his other half,

Was dead.

And it was his fault for not letting him win.

You know I just thought about the fact that the rogues don't know who Batman is (obviously)

And it's a well accepted fact in the fandom that Bruce and Harvey had some kind of romance in college

And so I think that after Harvey's accident and his fall in semi madness he tried numerous times to kidnap Bruce to marry him and Bruce goes along with it because 1: he has to play helpless himbo 2: he likes spending time with his ex best friend/fling 3: he always end up being rescued by his kids or coworkers/ current flings

I just liked the idea of Harvey setting up little candle lights dinner to propose to Bruce over and over again because he keeps getting interupted

Oh wow you guys really didn't need to let my last post flop so hard 😒 I'm almost offended

Anyway have this random thought I had:

The scene is set on a rooftop at night, Gotham's skies crying down heavy rain.The streets so far bellow echoing the sounds of car passing by, the light of the streets barely reaching the pitch black rooftop where batman is standing because of the polluted fog covering the city

And Batman, Bruce Wayne the ever serious hero,the unshakeable always strong hero,in the moment feels weak, it's too hard he cannot fight anymore....

"B..." Dick's voice call out from behind him, it's soft and desperate, Bruce knows he's trying to stop him but at this moment, when he looks down he gets reminded of how weak he is,he cannot fight it.

"B please, don't do anything stupid" his son plead trying to slowly advance towards him

"I can't Nightwing. You know I love you and your siblings...but I can't stay strong anymore..."

"B..no. Dad, please, we can talk about it! There are other options! Please don't do it!"

But Batman close his ears, he won't listen to his son, he's too weak to fight.

"..."

"....."

"Damnit B you can't have more kids give me the baby!"

Dick finally snap launching at his dad who is desperately holding a baby against his chest

"No! You don't get it Wing! He's an orphan! He just saw his mother tumble to her death!" Batman plead trying to run away from his son he's too weak when it comes to children! He can't fight the need to adopt!

"oh I think I get it pretty well but you already have too many kids! Now drop it! Come on B drop it! Give it here!"

"Noooo!"

Roy: *see Bruce walking out of Oliver's room one day* "oh my god robin was right! Bruce Wayne will sleep with your mentor if you reveal your identity!"

Oliver: *thinks it's kinda funny and repeat it to the league cause wtf are those kids saying?*

The league: "no acctually I did sleep with Bruce Wayne now that you mention it"

The league: *turns to Batman who stayed quiet as always*
