The jeering and cruelly snickering bystanders were one of the worst parts about Amarantha‘s impossible tasks for Feyre. It was one thing for their oppressors to find joy and pleasure in seeing the human spirit splinter in front of their very eyes - it was to be expected after all.
But when the struggle became too great, when Feyre couldn’t decide on a lever and was about to be crushed by molten spikes alongside her lover‘s friend Lucien… that‘s when Lia had to avert her eyes, try and prepare for the anguished screams that would surely follow any second now.
She wanted to scream out the answer, wanted to aid in the survival of the one person that could free them all - but she‘d seen what Amarantha had done to the youngest Vanserra heir for interrupting her perverted games. Only the begging of the High Lord Tamlin had saved him then, and she was in no way important enough that her own High Lord would even lift a finger.
Burning with shame about her own cowardice, she let her eyes wander for a second. They latched onto a group of men standing directly opposite her, with only the pit separating them.
Their shockingly red hair would have been a dead giveaway, but even without it, there was no mistaking those fox-like features and the dark glimmer in all of their eyes. The Vanserra‘s were watching their brother getting killed with a mix of glee and sick fascination. Disgust roiled within her, as the tallest one shifted from one foot to the other.
He was quiet, arms crossed over a lean chest as his eyes remained fixed on Lucien.
Eris Vanserra was an exceptionally handsome man, with thick straight hair that hung into his eyes but was mostly tucked behind pointed ears. His amber eyes seemed to burn as the singingly hot metal spikes came closer and closer to crushing his youngest sibling.
Lucien started to beg and scream at Feyre. She had to step away from the crowd, elbowing her way through the other onlookers - if she stayed for only a second longer, she‘d vomit her guts up.
Hisses and shoves followed her hasty departure, and one of Amarantha‘s cronies grabbed her by the arm. The stench of decay and leather made the nausea worse, and sharp talons ripped the silky sleeve of her modest dress.
"Where do you think you‘re-" the creature started with a growl, but was interrupted by a cacophony of gasps and shouts, then cheers. It released her, disbelief causing them both to look around.
"She did it!" A tiny fairy shrieked, bouncing up and down. Faint glimmers of blue sparkles emanated from her alabaster skin. "The human beat the second task!"
Standing on her tiptoes, she tried to peer over all the heads she‘d just pushed through, but there was no way of catching a glimpse into the pit anymore. Red, flaming hair caught her eye instead. The Vanserra brothers looked disappointed, shaking their heads or hissing - all except Eris. He still stood in the same pose as before, simply staring at the spectacle with the corners of his mouth turned upwards.
Shaking her head, she gave that horrible creature the slip and rushed out of the Great Hall. Trying to breathe, trying to control the mad grin that was worming its way onto her lips.
The second task. That fragile little human had bested two out of three of Amarantha’s tasks already. They truly stood a chance of escaping now. For the first time in fifty years, she might be able to feel the cold sting of a northern breeze, see the sun set, smell anything other than dust and wet stone.
This time she did vomit, right onto the shiny marble floor.
The party that followed was raucous, with their captor putting on a good show of trying to look unfazed by Feyre‘s success and instead being happy about having one more opportunity to tear her to shreds and antagonize the High Lord Tamlin.
Music and wine flowed freely, and some people danced with such wild abandon that her own heart soared from watching. Whispering and giggling had spread among the Court, many in such high spirits that they decided to look for one or several partners for the night.
She sipped on her sixth glass of wine, feeling more than a little tipsy and tempted beyond measure to do the same.
But then she saw them. The Vanserra‘s stood in a small cluster, laughing drunkenly as one of them kissed a tall female from Dawn so passionately, that she seemed to forget her surroundings entirely as she lounged on his lap. The sight made goosebumps of disgust rise on her arms and legs.
How dare they be this frivolous, when it was their little brother that-
Before she could think twice, and despite the questioning shouts of her friends, she pushed her way through the crowd and straight towards Eris. He stood the closest, observing the dancers with such a haughty, arrogant expression that she wanted to bash his perfectly straight nose into his skull. Assholes, all of them.
He noticed her just as she came to a halt in front of him, and raised a hand when one of his brothers tried to step closer and intervene.
Amber eyes seemed to dissect her, one eyebrow raised as they trailed along her face and then body.
"Speak," he drawled, apparently deciding to indulge her. Probably expecting her to make a move on him, like every other available female seemed to consider doing in his vicinity.
The keyword here being consider.
Most valued their life too much to risk it, the Autumn Heir‘s violent reputation preceding him. But she didn‘t give a damn, not tonight, not bolstered by faerie wine and the quick drums that made her blood boil and heart sing.
"You," she seethed, and his attention snapped back to her eyes, mild surprise glimmering in his own now. "Disgust me."
Multiple gasps rang out, most of them from Autumn Ladies that mingled close to the Vanserra brothers.
"Some of us would do anything, anything, to keep their siblings alive. To get a second chance. But here you stand, in your endless arrogance," she spat the last word out. "Cheering for his demise. You-"
Eris‘ hand shot out so quickly, there was no way for her to avoid him getting a hold of her face. His long fingers curled along her jaw, dug into the fleshy parts of her cheeks. It hurt, and he pulled her closer like that, keeping her mouth effectively shut with the pressure.
Liquid amber stared at her with quiet fury. The belated trickle of realization of just who she was talking to did little to slow her jackhammering heart - quite the opposite. Eris looked ready to tear her throat out, anger and disbelief written all over his features.
"And who do you presume to be, to talk to me in such a way, hm?" He growled, looking more like a fox than ever. A rabid one, with the single-minded purpose of destroying and feeding. "I should rip your tongue out for your insolence."
Unable to respond, her eyes became slits. The wine in her system made her brave, foolish, herself times one hundred. She clamped her hand around his wrist, digging her sharp fingernails into the vulnerable skin there.
Eris looked surprised for a second, though she only noticed because their faces were mere inches apart.
"You are playing with fire," he warned her, voice low and sensual and full of promises for violence that would soon follow if she didn‘t back off. "But since I am in a very generous mood tonight, you may apologize to me and I will only punish you a little bit. You might even enjoy it, come to think of it."
His dark smirk and the arrogant gleam in his eyes made her swallow back saliva, even though she would have liked nothing more than to spit in his handsome face.
"Lord Eris!" A deep voice said, pleadingly. One of her friends had finally managed to push their way through, following after her. "Please, please forgive her! She had too much drink, and doesn’t know what she is saying!"
I know perfectly well what I said! And I‘d say it again! she wanted to yell, but the iron grip on her jaw and cheeks made it impossible. So she glowered up at Eris, and he stared back at her from behind lowered eyelashes.
Then the most devastating smirk tugged at his mouth, one that made her a little woozy despite the anger.
"Perhaps you should mind your drinking habits, in case you come across a less lenient High Lord next time."
No one corrected the title, not even his kin. Then Eris clicked his tongue, released her face and instead swept her up into his arms just as the next song begun.
"You will start apologizing as soon as the orchestra starts," he told her calmly, leaving the furiously whispering members of his Court behind. One of his brothers was laughing so hard that his face rivaled the color of his hair, clearly enjoying the prospect of the promised punishment.
"I will do no such thing," she replied, digging her own grave a little deeper with each twirl and push and pull of his strong hands on her waist. "I stand by everything I said, and also the things I didn’t have the opportunity to say, yet."
"Pity," he was smirking again. They parted for a heartbeat, switching partners for a turn and then coming back together.
She wondered why she was still dancing, why she hadn’t lifted up her skirts and ran like the hounds of hell were on her heels. If the stories were to be believed, the devil in front of her actually trained his own dogs in much the same manner.
Eris pulled her close again, warm breath fanning her cheek as he murmured into her ear now. His voice was detached, cold. So at odds with their proximity.
"Do enlighten me, what else has been weighing on your desperate little soul?"
The curse words she let out next made him chuckle and tighten his fingers on hers for a moment.
"Such foul language for a lady. Was that all then? How disappointing."
"No," she said quietly, so that the surrounding dancers would have a hard time listening in. "But I‘m not sure how much breath I want to waste, trying to make you understand how sick that last task, and your family’s reaction to it, was."
Eris hummed, swooshing her across the dance floor like it was as easy as breathing to him.
"You truly do have a death wish, don‘t you, little lamb?"
The eyes that had been scanning the debauchery around them zeroed in on her face once more, and she had to steel her spine so she wouldn’t bend as far away from him as physically possible. There was amusement and hunger and violence written all over his features, transforming them into something terrifying and intriguing all at once.
She just wished it wasn’t directed at herself, so that she might observe him from a safe distance instead.
"Your arrogance is truly astounding," she hissed back. "If, and that is a very big if, Feyre manages to beat these games- that might be the moment I will start being afraid of you or any of the other High families again. If she doesn’t, then we are all doomed anyway. What does it matter if you hurt or humiliate me? To her," she jerked her chin into the general direction of Amarantha. "You matter as much or as little as any of us. She‘d kill you if you step out of line, future High Lord or not."
Eris‘ hands tightened on her waist, thumbs digging into her hipbones painfully as he lifted her up into another graceful spin.
"Funny," he breathed as soon as she was safely back on the ground. "You must never have felt true pain or humiliation to shrug the possibility of either off this easily."
They rotated on the spot, other dancers giggling and shouting all around them as the beat of the drums and violins picked up once more, seamlessly transitioning into yet another dance. She hardly noticed. To her, the world had narrowed down to this conversation, to this arrogant fool.
"If have felt plenty of pain in my life, this conversation being one of the more excruciating examples," she pushed out through gritted teeth as some of Amarantha‘s creatures undulated their hips against one another, the scraps of fabric covering their bodies doing little to conceal much of anything. To her astonishment, she could feel Eris‘ shoulders shake with silent laughter, his face turned away for a moment.
"You are not wrong, I suppose," he eventually acknowledged. Her eyebrows rose, and she‘d already opened her mouth to retort, when a long-fingered hand found his way onto the back of her head lightning fast. Eris got a good grip on her white hair, and pulled.
It was easier to let him manipulate her than fight back and make a scene in case Amarantha was watching, but she snarled quietly - not from pain, just pure outrage over the fact that he was manhandling her once more.
He subtly turned her head towards the evil Queen, with High Lord Tamlin sitting right next to her. It was impossible to tell what expression he wore from this distance, Tamlin’s mask gleaming in the low light of the hall. But he sat rigidly, not touching any of the food or drink offered to him while Amarantha talked and played with her bone necklace.
Eris put his mouth close to her cheek, his body almost engulfing hers. To an outsider, it might have looked like the whispering between lovers.
But all he did was spew some more poison, wrapped in gentle, detached words.
"If that," he murmured. "Is what her affection looks like, then I‘d rather choose death. I‘m not a whore like Rhysand," he spat out the name. "Or one of her simpering fools. Let her attention lie elsewhere, I certainly don‘t want it."
"Careful, that almost sounds like treason," she mocked him, and could feel his hands heat up where he was still gripping her tightly to him. Suddenly, a tiny flicker of fear sparked in her chest - not of him, exactly. But what if Eris lost control and burned her right where she stood, if she pushed him too far? Despite both of their earlier words, she didn’t actually want to die.
As though sensing her thoughts, Eris released her and then stepped back a little. They were moving towards the edge of the dancing mob now, and he looked at a point over her shoulder before his jaw locked in annoyance.
"I am not a traitor," he replied, simply.
"Just a man that would cheer for his own brother‘s demise."
The words were out before she could bite her tongue, and molten amber filled with crackling hate glared back at her. His mood swings were a terrible thing to be subjected to, but she refused to try and play nice when nothing about this night had changed her opinion about him.
"You should be more careful, if you wish for that pretty face to stay intact." Eris tapped the small pin on her chest, ice shards that formed the shape of a wolf. In the next moment, he‘d ripped her Winter Court sigil off, clutching it in his fist. "Do not presume to understand anything about me or my family."
Turning away from her, he spoke to one of Amarantha‘s cronies. A great, furred beast with eyes like charcoal and protruding teeth.
"Escort the lady to her chambers, she‘s had too much to drink."
The look Eris threw her over his shoulder was enough to make her teeth click together again, the protest dying in her throat. The guard tugged her along none too gently, sniggering cruelly when she tripped over the hem of her long black silk gown.
And when she glanced back into the hall one last time before getting dragged through a side entrance, the Autumn Court heir was back with his brothers, face blank and not looking at her at all.

IN YOUR PAIN | Dramione Fanfiction
Prologue
Synopsis: After the death of Harry Potter and the rise of Voldemort, Hermione Granger finds herself despairing at the increasing oppression of the wizarding and Muggle worlds. Captured during a resistance mission, she is sent to a concentration camp where enemies of the Dark Lord and muggle-borns are brutally massacred and abused.
But after the Order organizes a mission to rescue Granger, Voldemort realizes that she is a dangerous witch, and she is sent to Malfoy Manor to serve as a slave to Draco Malfoy, who is now the most faithful and powerful Death Eater. Trapped in a cage, Hermione is confronted with the cruelty of the oppressive regime, but also with the presence of Draco, her old enemy from Hogwarts.
As the days pass at Malfoy Manor, the two begin to form an unlikely connection, overcoming the differences and prejudices that separated them in the past. A growing tension arises between them, a forbidden attraction that defies all conventions and expectations.
As they fight together for freedom and redemption, Granger and Malfoy discover that they are involved in a clandestine romance, hidden from the watchful eyes of the Dark Lord and his followers. But the love between a Muggle-born and a pureblood like Draco is bound to face countless difficulties and dangers, setting them on a journey of discovery, sacrifice, and redemption.

Harry Potter was dead. That was the news shouted by the Death Eaters, echoing through the heavy air of despair and anguish. Hermione felt her whole-body tremble at the terrifying revelation. Around her, only the ruins of her old school remained, the bodies of her friends, classmates, and teachers now silent, mute witnesses to the tragedy that had unfolded.
Mrs. Weasley threw herself to the ground when she saw Hagrid bringing the boy's pale, lifeless body. Granger couldn't bring herself to have any reaction, she was too scared for that, her heart clenched in a knot of pain and despair.
The half-giant carried the little friend, and constant tears bathed his face as he seemed to talk to Harry, even though he knew there would be no response.
Ginny Weasley, Potter's girlfriend, let out a cry of pure horror at the sight of the huge gash on the boy's neck, the blood running down his thin body and soiling the Care of Magical Creatures professor's old clothes, dyeing the freshly cut grass with a reddish puddle.
Hermione felt like she was about to have a panic attack. She had lost everything. Her boyfriend, her parents, and now her best friend. There was nothing left for her. She watched fearfully as her colleague, Neville Longbottom, picked up the Sorting Hat from the ground and thrust his bloody hand inside, pulling Godric Gryffindor's shining sword from inside. Granger sighed, seeing that he was going to try to confront Voldemort.
Under the thunderous laughter and cruel jokes of the Death Eaters, Neville staggered to close to Nagini, the Dark Lord's gigantic snake. The student raised his gun, ready to chop off the animal's head, when he suddenly stopped. He was paralyzed, with a look of surprise on his face.
The muggle-born took a step forward, trying to get a better sense of what had happened. That's when she saw it. Voldemort had his wand raised, an evil smile on his face, looking full of satisfaction. Gradually, she noticed that Neville's waist appeared to be bleeding, and after taking one last breath, the young man fell, his body split in half. Blood was expelled like a jet, hitting the faces of the students who were protecting the school, and he was there, dead, with his eyes open and an expression of pain, the sword remaining in his hand, clenching his fists tightly, as if he would not let go of it even after life was gone from his being.
Incessant screaming and sobbing began again. And Hagrid was forced to stop walking by one of the Dark Lord's servants. A red-haired man threw a jet of light at the teacher, causing him to stand still, tears still streaming down his face.
“Throw it on the ground.” Voldemort ordered, his voice fading and tired, but still smiling.
Hagrid complied, carefully placing Harry's body on the grass, as if to protect him in spite of everything. Such an attitude frustrated the wicked being, who, overcome with blind rage, raised his wand once more, casting a jinx that threw the half-giant away, causing him to hit his head on the castle staircase. To Hermione's relief, she noticed that the professor was still breathing, demonstrating that he was just unconscious.
“Look!” The Dark Lord shouted, his voice echoing through the devastated school. Some people looked away, others just sobbed more intensely.
Ginny was huddled on the floor next to her mother. Both were heartbroken, the Weasley family losing their patriarch and three of their sons. Hermione couldn't understand how Molly was still there, comforting her youngest daughter.
“The great Harry Potter is dead!” Voldemort shouted again. The man flicked his wand, sending the boy's body flying through the air, hurling the red liquid from his neck into the faces of the Order's allies as a final humiliation. “He's just a scam.” He laughed along with his Death Eaters. “The Chosen One.” Voldemort made quotation marks with his hand, laughing.
Harry fell to the ground and his enemy approached, standing with his feet close to the young man's face.
Hermione screamed so loudly that she felt her throat hurt. Her legs became weak, a severe headache hitting her. She had no choice but to curl up on the stairs, as thick tears fell from her eyes, her hair standing on end. She looked away, unable to face the suffering her best friend was going through, even though he was dead.
Voldemort used his wand, conjuring a dark spell to dismember what was left of Potter. First, he cut off the head, throwing it next to Neville's divided body, then he dismembered each part of the boy, throwing them to different sides. Luna Lovegood fainted as the Dark Lord threw Harry's right leg against her chest.
It was there that the Order's greatest fear was realized. Harry Potter had died. They lost the war. They lost everything. Evil won, and they were just children huddled next to the bodies of their loved ones.
Slughorn pulled Hermione up, lifting her up carefully, muttering words she couldn't comprehend. Granger was static, hearing no voice, no noise, just staring blankly into a corner. To Harry's head.
The teacher then grabbed the girl's arm and, in an instant, Apparated away. Most of the Order's allies did the same. Later, Hermione learned that more than three hundred children had died, unable to escape the Death Eaters.
The list of losses was extensive:
Harry Potter, Severus Snape, Lavender Brown, Cho Chang, Arthur Weasley, Fred Weasley, Ron Weasley, Charlie Weasley, Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks, Neville Longbottom, Filius Flitwick, Sibyl Trelawney, Madame Irma Pince, almost all first and second student's year at Hogwarts and all members of the Ministry of Magic who supported the Order.
The wizarding world was plunged into darkness, and Hermione Granger found herself enveloped in overwhelming pain, a pain that seemed to have no end.
As the Order's allies tried to regroup in one of the hideouts and look for a way to defeat the forces of darkness, the young witch felt lost in a sea of despair and hopelessness. She wondered how she could move on after all.
As the days dragged on, the sadness and emptiness inside Hermione seemed to grow even bigger, weighing her down like an anchor. She found herself constantly reliving the final moments of each of her friends, tortured by the memory of the loss and violence she had witnessed.
The devastation spread across the wizarding world, with bereaved families and communities torn apart by the conflict. Evil had triumphed, and those who dared to resist paid the highest price.
Granger remained alive to find a reason to keep fighting, a spark of hope to feed his broken spirit. She knew that she needed to honor the memory of each of her colleagues, that she needed to continue to fight for the freedom and justice they valued so much.
But the road ahead seemed dark and steep, and the burden of loss seemed almost unbearable. Yet even in the midst of darkness, Hermione found a quiet determination, a quiet promise that she would never forget those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom.
And so, with a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes, she was ready to face the challenge that lay before her. For she knew that even in the deepest darkness, the light of hope is never completely extinguished. And as long as there was life in her body, she would rejoin the resistance and not allow Voldemort to take over the wizarding world she loved so much. The muggle-born picked up her wand from the bedside table, stood up, and swore to herself that she would make the Dark Lord dread the day he defied Hermione Granger.

I think someone plagiarized the Damian x Batman imagine and posted it on Wattpad , but the "thief" changed the beginning and the end, so I'm not sure. But she said she was inspired by an imagine on Tumblr. I'm so confused.

I'm reposting most of my imagines and posting the ones that were in my drafts, because I created this Tumblr in 2019, and as you know, I'm Brazilian and I'm not fluent in English, and in 2019 I had started to learn this language, and my writing was horrible, not that it's perfect nowadays, but my writing got a lot better. So, that's why most of my old images were deleted. I hope you understand. ♡♡♡

The test in your hands had two blue lines and your face had a huge smile. You had some suspicions, but you never imagined that after eight years of marriage, you would have a baby in your womb.
You thought you must be sterile because you had never been pregnant before, and even though the doctors said you were healthy, you didn't believe them. The test in your hand was proof that you were going to have five babies now.
You left the bathroom, putting the test in your pants pocket. The first person you saw when you left the master suite was Alfred. He will just come out of one of the guest rooms.
You ran to the butler you considered your second father. Alfred looked at you, thinking you were going to ask for something.
“Alfred, I'm pregnant!” You said it quickly, not having the courage to repeat it. The old man in front of you looked at you with wide eyes. After five seconds, he smiled at you.
It was difficult to make Alfred smile. He always maintained his serious appearance.
“Congratulations, Mrs. Wayne. It’s great news.” Alfred said.
You showed the butler the pregnancy test. He congratulated her again and left, with the excuse that he had to clean Timothy's room. You could see a big smile on Alfred's face as he walked down the stairs to the second floor.
You remembered that Bruce was on the Wayne Enterprise, running some errands and that he wouldn't be back until after 8pm. Dick and Jason went to Wally West's house to play basketball. Timothy was at school.
Demian was the only one at home. He was probably in his room or in the garden with Titus.
You walked to the room that had the 'Do Not Enter' sign. You knocked on the door a few times, hearing your son's voice telling you that you could come in.
“Hi, my love.” You said to Damian, who was playing videogame. He was sitting on the bed. The boy smiled at you.
"Hi mommy. Did something happen?" He questioned, his eyes anxious.
You sat on the bed too, watching your son continue to play his game, but he was paying attention to you. .
“I have something new to tell you. I found out today, so only you and Alfred know about it.” You said, reaching into your pocket and pulling out the pregnancy test to show Damian.
The boy looked at the object curiously, until he realized what it really was. He looked at you in amazement, as if he thought it was just a joke.
"You are pregnant?" He questioned.
"Yes." After you nodded, you saw him give you a sad smile.
“I think this is amazing news, Mom,” Damian said. He no longer looked you in the eye, focusing his attention on the television while he played.
"Are you okay, darling?" You questioned, moving closer to Damian.
The boy just nodded, and didn't look at you anymore. Then, you realized that he didn't like the news, and preferred to leave him alone. You knew Damian didn't like expressing his feelings.
"If you need me, I'll be in the kitchen" You said, leaving your son's room and walking down the hallway.
As soon as Bruce arrived and you told him you were pregnant, he had the best reaction possible. Your husband was extremely happy and excited. And Dick, Jason and Tim also loved having a new little brother.
The weeks passed very quickly, and soon became months, and suddenly, you were seven months pregnant. You had already done all the ultrasounds and discovered that you were having your first daughter. You were excited to have a little princess, and Jason and Dick started teasing Bruce about how he really was a girl's daddy.
Everyone in your family seemed to be happy, except Damian. He never said out loud that he hated the baby, but you could see that he stopped wanting to spend time with you. The boy spent more time in his room or in the Batcave, avoiding being close to you. Bruce said the boy would accept that he would have a sister after the baby was born, but you knew you had to have a talk with Damian.
You walked slowly down to the clock that hid the entrance to the Batcave. It was difficult to walk with swollen feet. You knew that Bruce was on patrol, but that he left Damian on the Batcomputer. As soon as you got out of the elevator, you saw your son look at you, but quickly turn away. You walked over to Damian, giving him a gentle smile. The boy didn't look at you again.
"Hello, my dear." You said.
He didn't answer you, and started pretending to type on the keyboard.
"I wanted to talk to you a little."
Damian just grumbled.
"I know you're sad about my pregnancy." You said. "But you know that in two months there will be a baby here."
He continued ignoring you.
"If it's because of your father, you know Bruce loves all his children equally." You commented. "And that no baby in this world will make your father love you less."
Damian finally turned around, looking at you. He had red eyes, looking like he was going to cry.
"It's not about my father." He said. "Is you!" He exclaimed.
"What do you mean?" You asked.
"You know!" He roared. "You were the first person who liked me, even though you knew I was Bruce's biological son and that I was conceived when he was drugged by Talia." Damian continued speaking. "And now, you will have your own daughter. Who has your blood and Bruce's"
You looked at him, surprised.
"Are you afraid I'm going to leave you aside?" You wanted to know.
"My brothers don't seem to see what's going to happen. That you and Bruce are going to love the baby more than we do." He started to cry. "I love you and my dad, and I know that now you will have your own family."
You said, walking over to your son. You held him by the shoulders, making him face you.
"Damian, that will never happen!" You exclaimed. "You, Dick, Jason and Tim never stopped being my kids, my little birds."
He looked away, looking embarrassed.
"I thought you wouldn't treat me like your son anymore" He said.
"It's normal for you to be jealous and afraid of losing all the attention you receive, but I want you to know that our relationship will never change." You commented. "Now that the problem has been resolved, do you want to go upstairs so we can make some cupcakes together?"
Damian quickly got up from the chair he was in, and threw himself into your arms, hugging you tightly. He placed his head on your chest, and surprisingly, you felt him caressing your belly for the first time. You lowered your head to look at your son, smiling at him.
"Yes, I want to go make cupcakes, Mommy." He said, using the sleeve of his sweatshirt to wipe his tear-stained face.
You and Damian went up to the house, leaving the Batcave. He started talking to you again, saying that he had had a brief fight with Jon Kent, but that they had already made up. He also told you that he was doing a literature project for school in a group, and that it was very easy.
As soon as you arrived in the kitchen, you grabbed all the necessary ingredients from the fridge and started mixing the cupcake batter, while Damian mixed the frosting. He told you that he wanted to color the cupcakes green and red, so you grabbed the food coloring from the pantry, letting him make the frosting any color he wanted.
Once the more than twenty cupcakes were ready, you and Damian sat on the counter while eating, talking excitedly about how the last few months had been when Damian had avoided you.
"Mother?" He caught your attention. "It'll be good to be a big brother."
You gave him a huge smile, and then kissed your son's cheek.

I'm not sure how the one I expected to be the shortest became the longest one so far. like, seriously, I know I keep saying this but wtf? why can't I write a short fic?
Tumblr media
Dinner had already been served by the time you made it to the Grand Hall, the smells of roasted meats and seasoned potatoes filling the air, your mouth watering as you navigated between the throngs of people. Your seat had been saved, of course. A spot on the bench between Draco and Daphne, and as you neared, your friends noticed, smiles rising and waves in your direction.
Sinking into your seat, you pressed a kiss to the cheek of the blond boy beside you, his face tipping up to receive it and lips twisting into a smile, attention moving to you as you sat.
“Good day?”
“Better now that it’s over.” You smiled, a chuckle falling from him, and his hand came to rest upon your thigh, squeezing comfortingly while you helped yourself to a plate of whatever food was left. “What are we talking about, what did I miss?”
“Not much. Just Theo telling us all about Christmas in Italy.” Mattheo rolled his eyes, as though you all hadn't heard this exact same speech since that very first Christmas you’d become friends. Most of the group seemed to have simply tuned it out, laughing and nodding at the correct times as they whispered their own conversations.
A swipe of a thumb over your thigh as you finished filling your plate with food, and you shifted your attention to Draco. “So, what are your Christmas plans, Dray?”
Shuffling a little bit closer now that your plate was full, his arm moved to lay across your shoulders instead, letting you snuggle up into his side. “Oh, you know, the usual.”
He smiled, and your world seemed to get a little bit brighter, his lips brushing your hairline as he left a barely-present kiss there.
“Typical Malfoy-family Christmas. I get to do the tour with my parents, visiting every other rich-arsehole couple they know. Christmas Eve party. The pleasure of my father’s annual ‘you’re growing up now, son, it’s time to get serious about the world’ over the dinner table on Christmas Day. Open some presents I don’t want, on a schedule I don’t like.” He sighed, clearly used to it by now, but it didn’t make it sound any less awful.
“Well,” You smile, nudging him playfully with your elbow. “Maybe we could write to one another, or even get a little visit in?”
The hope in your voice was evident, and Pansy gave you an encouraging smile across the table. You’d been meaning to ask Draco this question for weeks now, and your last chance had been fast approaching. Since the summer, you and Draco had been hooking up. It was no secret among your friends, or even the students; your affections for one another were hardly contained, but it wasn't official.
You wanted the labels, the security, and the safety of knowing that he was yours and you were his, and nobody else could come between you. You wanted to be introduced to his parents, be his date at events, to have him be proud to call you his girl. But Draco had been hesitant, avoiding every conversation that might inch into the ‘so, what are we?’ territory, keeping a safe distance from any kind of real commitment.
It wasn’t enough for you anymore, not by a long shot, but trying to talk to Draco about it only ended up with him shutting it down, or skilfully diverting the conversation and you were growing tired of his games.
Draco only made a vague noise, neither an agreement nor disagreement, and looked away from you as he picked up his drink to take a sip. “I don’t know… maybe. I can get pretty busy over the holidays, I’d hate to let you down.”
Another skill of his, making it seem like cancelling or delaying or not doing something at all was your idea. He was clearly hoping you’d brush it off, and tell him not to worry about it, but instead, you kept quiet. Not giving him the satisfaction of any easy win, this time.
Pansy caught your eye across the table, shaking her head disapprovingly, and shooting a glare at an oblivious Draco. She had been your confidant these last few months, every update and development in your situationship, she’d been informed of. Every decision, she’d been a part of. She was practically as invested as you were, at this point, and she certainly did not approve of his nonchalant behaviour either.
“Speaking of parties,” Mattheo cut Theo off, clearly having had enough of the annual rehashing of ‘that one Christmas when Theo was eight’ for today, and changing the subject, “Who’s got their dates sorted for the Malfoy Christmas Eve Ball, and who’s daring to go solo and have Narcissa set them up like a matchmaker all night long?”
Chuckles rang out among the group, and Pansy smiled, leaning into Blaise’s side with a love-struck grin. “I think we’re safe this year.”
“I’m going solo, but, I did tell Aunty Cissa that I have my eye on a girl in one of my classes, and I’m seeing how it plays out. So, she’s not setting me up anytime soon, since she believes I’m already onto someone.” Enzo smirked, and Blaise congratulated him for his clever tactics.
You smirked through your mouthful of food, listening to Mattheo explain his complex excuse, to Reggie mournfully spill the story of how he’s already been set up by his parents witha ‘potential bride to meet’, and how he hopes she doesn’t show up. You laugh with the others as Tom simply raises an eyebrow, knowing that even Narcissa doesn’t attempt to set him up anymore, lest he scare away any more of her friends’ daughters. Theo, ever the player he is, is looking forward to dancing with every single lady he can find, and taking his pick at the end of the night.
“I suppose nobody needs to ask Draco who his date will be.” Mattheo grins, wiggling his brows at the pair of you as you smile, leaning a little further into the man at your side.
“Hey, who knows?” He chortles, and your eyes narrow a little, “I’ve had plenty of offers. I haven’t made up my mind yet.”
“Oooh.” Enzo’s eyes went wide, the other boys joining in, and Pansy fixed him with a glare. Daphne leaned around you with her jaw dropped at his statement, and you sat up from his embrace, lips pressed flat and a brow raised.
The boys snickered, ‘he’s in shit’ and ‘someone’s in the doghouse’, but he lived for the spotlight, a drama queen at heart, and he smirked down at you.
“Oh, c’mon. Don’t look at me like that, babe.” The playful nickname was one he only ever used when joking around. When he was sincere, he was much more romantic; darling, sweetheart, beautiful. “What am I supposed to say? ‘Hi mum, hello father, meet the girl I’m skipping class to shag! Thanks for paying my tuition!’, I don’t think so.”
The boys all laughed, Daphne scoffed in sync with her sister behind you, and Pansy looked like she’d lunge across the table at any moment, if it wasn’t for her chastising Blaise for laughing, instead. ‘You and Draco can share that couch you’ll both be sleeping on tonight’, she’d said. ‘See how funny you think it is then’.
The words stung as he spoke them, dismantling your relationship down to the bare minimum; to sex and physical connection and nothing else. Like the nights spent talking until the sun came up were nothing, the times you’d held him while he cried, or washed him in the bath when he was so exhausted he could barely keep his eyes open. Like he didn’t rub your stomach for hours every month when you got cramps, or had a stash of your favourite snacks in his bedside table for whenever you came over.
You knew that Draco Malfoy lived you, just as much as you loved him. It was evident in everything he did, every kiss and every word. But, he needed a little push.
“I suppose you’re right,” You sigh lightly, giggling along with the laughing boys around the table. “I’m not so sure Lucius wouldn't burst a blood vessel then and there.”
“Exactly.” Draco hummed, and you glanced back to Pansy. She was shocked, only for a second, before taking in the subtle signs of mischief on your face. Her own smirk stretched out in return, and her gaze flickered once to Draco, before back to you.
A new game was afoot, and Draco wasn’t going to stand a chance.
Tumblr media
Slipping your coat from your shoulders, the annual Malfoy Christmas Eve Ball was well underway. Your parents had disappeared into the crowds before you’d even stepped out of the carriage, uncaring of where you were as long as you weren’t causing trouble. They were here to mingle with the other importants, and you were just here to learn the ropes of proper socialising.
The garment was taken from you, your small bag clutched in hand as a ticket was given to you for it, and you brushed down the front of your dress delicately. Pearls moved under your touch, beading along the bodice flat and perfected, and you felt your confidence rise as you looked at yourself once more in the reflection of a dark window. Adjusting the small lace gloves on each hand, you took a step towards the dining room.
Elegant music was playing from a live band up on a stage, the room was decorated this year to look like a winter escape. Pale and frosty, like a palace of ice, twinkling lights and glittering decor, crisp white tablecloths and ice sculptures. A layer of goosebumps travelled along your skin at the sight of it all, despite the warming charms that took place for the guests.
Scanning the room, you quickly found your table. The designated kids table, despite you all being legal adults and far beyond such status. You’d all be the babies of the ball until the new generation emerged, no doubt. Moving through the bodies and crowds of people politely, Theo was the first to glance up and spot you, his mouth falling open, and a rush of confidence took over as he raised two fingers to his lips and whistled.
The sound caught the attention of the others’ chatter fading to quiet as they all turned to look for the object of his cat-calling, Enzo’s eyes widened, Pansy cheered loudly, and even Mattheo looked momentarily speechless. You’d had the same reaction when you’d seen yourself in the dress too, your stylist had truly outdone herself for this one.
You looked flawless, and you looked expensive, and utterly elegant. Doing a little spin as you approached, a smile broke free on your lips as you stopped before the chair with your name card before it.
“Merlin, babe,” Pansy started, drawing your attention straight her her, “You’ve got every eye on you tonight. If I was single, I’d be all over you.”
She winked when you laughed, and Blaise rolled his eyes but smiled, leaning in to kiss her cheek affectionately.
“Pretty necklace,” She commented, and your fingers rose to the pretty string of pearls and diamonds that you had.
“It was a gift,” You simply hummed, tugging at your gloves. Glancing at the others, you gave each a polite smile, eyes lingering on Draco as he stared. In any other style, this dress would be scandalous for an event like this. A low neckline, spaghetti straps, no sleeves. Tight and fitted to every curve of your body, and yet the classic designs and vintage nature elevated it to the kind of class Audrey Hepburn would be proud of.
He looked just as good, a dark suit, a fresh white shirt, a champagne-coloured tie that made the colour of his eyes and his hair stand out and your mouth dried out a little. Silver rings adorned his fingers, the Malfoy signet standing out, clenched so tightly around his whiskey glass that his knuckles were almost white.
You’d worn soft, golden makeup effects today, a dusting of glitter along your cheekbones and eyelids, a shade of pink on your cheeks and lips that you knew was his weakness.
“Someone really wanted your attention with that, huh?” Your best friend teased, and your eyes snapped away from Draco, back to her.
“I suppose so,” You muse, hand coming up to touch one of the beads on your ear, “Since they also got me this lovely pair of matching earrings.”
Pansy made a dramatic show of admiring them, and Blaise gave a funny look, glancing at the jewellery, and then back at Draco, who was frowning. Before you could reach for your chair after placing your clutch down, Enzo was shooting to his feet from beside you, tugging out the chair for you.
Draco scoffed as you gave him a thank you, settling into your seat, and he glared at the man beside you. Enzo didn’t flinch, however, smirking at Draco as he spoke;
“What? It’s called being a gentleman, cousin.”
Crossing your leg delicately, you’d hardly even removed your gloves, before a tray was coming down by your side, and a young waiter with a dazzling smile was looking right at you.
“Champagne, ma’am?” Not a planned pawn in your game, but a welcome addition, you smiled sweetly in return.
“Oh, I’d love some. Thank you.” Taking the single glass by the stem, you lifted it from the tray and the man’s smile stretched wider as you sipped the bubbly, holding his eye.
“Of course, miss. If you need anything, anything at all, I’ll be at the bar, happy to serve.” His flirting was heavy enough that normally you’d want to roll your eyes, but tonight, you suppressed that urge, playing into it as you bat your lashes.
“I’ll be sure to keep that in mind. Thank you.”
He took the dismissal, staring appreciatively as he walked away, another look over his shoulder to you as you watched him go.
“Stop eye-fucking the help.” Draco snapped, and your focus moved to him slowly, just to find his icy glare on you. He didn’t scare you, though, all that mean bravado, but you knew what was underneath.
“I was doing no such thing.” You tut, placing down your drink. “Don’t be jealous, Dray. You look even better in that suit. If you want compliments, just ask. No need to be mean.”
He seemed rather placated by this, his ego settling down, even if the others did laugh at him.
The conversation seemed to continue around you as you settled in, avoiding Draco’s heated stare and sipping at your champagne. The rush of warming alcohol through your veins settled every dancing nerve, and gave you the calm confidence to do what you had planned. Sitting forwards, just enough, you angled your body so that Draco might have the perfect view over your cleavage as you feigned interest in the chatter around you.
He took the bait, his gaze falling right where you wanted it, the gems of your necklace dangling just over the swell of your breasts, and he licked his lower lip, pulling it between his teeth.
Raising your hands and catching the swinging gem, you toyed with it carefully, letting it run over your fingers. Time melted away as Draco’s gaze flicked between your nimble touch, your lips, and your chest, shuffling in his seat every so often, and gulping at the bubbly in his glass.
He was on his third refill by the time food started to be taken around, and you took pity on him momentarily, sitting back in your chair and angling away from him, ready to receive your first course.
As the starters came around, you turned to thank your waiter, surprised to see it was the same man from the bar who had brought you your champagne. You’d given him little thought since he’d walked away, and you’d never spotted him again, but perhaps that was exactly why he was delivering your food now, as he beamed at you and set down the plate.
Men did love a little attention, after all.
Reaching for the bottle of champagne cooling in the centre of the table, the waiter never looked away from you as he refilled your glass without being asked. Draco finally seemed to notice as he finished adjusting his napkin, gaze narrowing on the man serving you. “You’ve got to be kidding me…” He muttered.
You pretended to take no notice, smiling at the man and waving your fingers flirtily as he walked away.
“I’m going to get another drink at the bar,” He announced, leaving without his glass and without asking if anyone else wanted one. You knew where he was truly going, if the lock of his jaw and the stamp in his step were any indication. You doubted you’d be seeing that waiter again.
As you poked at your food, Pansy excused herself too, only a few bites into her meal before she disappeared with a wicked grin and no explanation to anyone. Enzo just chuckled beside you, glancing around the room like he was watching all the cogs of a machine in motion, before turning his gaze on you. “You do look lovely tonight, do you know that?”
“Of course I do. I spent days on end trying on dress after dress to find this.” You sighed, admiring the gorgeous piece of art on your body as you set your cutlery down.
“And is it serving the purpose you need it to?” He teased, voice knowing, and you nodded. Flicking your gaze over the patrons and guests in the room, you searched for Draco, finding him talking politely to one of his mother’s friends at the bar.
“It is, I think.”
“Let’s hope it stays that way.” He whispered, your focus still on the man who truly held your heart, who was making his polite excuse and walking way, back towards you all. His gaze locked on yours, only for a second, before Pansy was calling your name and drawing your focus elsewhere.
When you looked up to her, she was grinning, a man by her side. “This is Elliot, he’s been wanting to meet you for some time. I promised him I’d introduce you both tonight.”
You offered the best smile you could as his cheeks reddened, and Pansy merely patted him on the shoulder, slinking away as you offered your hand to him. “Lovely to meet you, Elliot.”
“You too. As embarrassing as that introduction was, it’s true. I have wanted to meet you for some time.” He had a kind smile and pretty eyes, and he seemed far too nice to be dragged into your game tonight, but he seemed almost like a willing participant, and you weren’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth. As Draco took his seat, Elliot continued, “Pansy has told me so much about you. You know, if you’re free one day before you go back to that fancy boarding school of yours, I’d love to take you out.”
“Yeah? What have you got in mind?” You smile, twisting a little more to face him, and your encouragement only brightens his expression as Draco’s darkens in your peripheral.
“A night in London, perhaps. We could get dinner, and see the opera?”
“She doesn’t like the opera.” Draco sneered, openly staring at Elliot with enough contempt to scare away lesser men. Elliot tugged at his collar, glancing at Draco, and then back to you as you tried to hide your shock at his behaviour.
“The theatre, then?”
Draco looked ready to snap again, and before he could, you nodded, sparing your unwilling partner. “That sounds wonderful, I’ll see what my schedule says. I’ll get in touch with you through Pansy if I can find the time, is that okay?”
“Perfect.” He smiled, sneaking another wary glance at Draco who was not backing down from glaring at him unflinchingly, but Elliot shook it off, bravely. “It was a pleasure to meet you, truly.”
“And you, Elliot.”
Soon after he left, the plates were being cleared. You tried not to smirk as a different waiter, and one who very pointedly did not so much as even catch your gaze, cleared your dishes away at record speed.
You knew that Draco had something, everything, to do with that. He was jealous by nature, a spoilt single child who did not like to share his favourite toys, and that is exactly what you were betting on tonight.
You stood, taking a lap around the room with Pansy to settle your food before the next course, and to get another drink. She took the opportunity to fill you in on how her first Christmas event with Blaise’s family had gone, and when you returned, you made sure to surreptitiously place yourself behind Draco’s chair.
You placed a hand on his shoulder, a friendly gesture, squeezing and rubbing enough that your thumb swept over his collar and across his neck. His pulse jumped under your touch, and he tipped his head closer, into your touch.
As he did so, your heart leapt in your chest. To others, it might look like a friendly gesture but to you, it meant so much more. You were tempted to cave then and there, to live with this being enough, to settle, but you couldn't. You didn’t want this to be it, you wanted to follow this by leaning down to kiss him, to have him smile against your lips in public the way he did when you were alone.
To arrive at these events together, arms linked, and to stumble out tiredly together too. To sit by him, his hand on your thigh, to rest your head on his shoulder, to kiss him on the dance floor. The thought was enough to push you through.
He twisted his head, to kiss your hand like he often did when you did this. Carefully, you slipped your hand away just in time, knuckles brushing across the nape of his neck as you stepped away, and back to your seat.
His sights moved to you, but like a saving grace, the servers began to appear with more dishes, and dinner soon distracted you all. A delicious serving of salmon and potatoes, and the hall fell quiet enough for you to hear the beautiful music playing when chatter fell low.
Low conversation, drinks refilled, and that perfect mood set across the room, as people took to the tables and quieted down. Your favourite part of the night, usually. Good food, your friends, and a chance to catch up without the usual weight of it all sitting on you. Regulus was talking, telling the rare story that had him caught up in a long conversation where he usually just observed quietly, but your attention was fixed on your lover.
Until, Theo spoke up.
“Oh, merda,” He muttered across Reggie’s’ story, his gaze cutting to you alarmingly quickly. “I forgot to tell you.”
“Tell me what?” Your heart skipped a beat, a flash of panic.
“My cousin flew in last minute for the party, and he wants to speak to you.” Theo’s words soothed your panic, and you offered him a flat look for the dramatic way he’d put it. Taking a sip from your glass, you raised a brow.
“When?”
“Now.” He confirmed, sights lifting to sit just behind you, and before you could even turn, a chair was being pulled up beside your own from another table. Turning your head to the owner, a smile burst across your face at the man sitting before you.
“Dario!” Your arms were around his neck before you could stop yourself, and he was chuckling as he bundled you into an equally enthusiastic hug. He chuckled lightly, pulling back only far enough to press a friendly kiss to your cheek, and you cupped his face as you parted from him. “You’re growing a beard!”
“My mother hates it.” He chuckled, rubbing a hand over it. As you twisted a little more towards him, he reached down, practically manhandling you as he reached for the edge of your seat by your legs, tugging it sideways to face him. You squealed as the chair jolted, screeching on the floor, tugging you closer as he leaned in. “Sei incantevole.”
“Are you charming me in Italian?” You smirk, a boyish smile on his face as he lounged back in his seat. “What are you doing here, anyway? Theo said none of you were flying in this year! I thought you couldn't make it.”
“I couldn't,” He sighed, shrugging, “But, then I heard that you would be here, without a date, and I knew I just had to make it. So, here I am, la mia bella donna. You think a short flight from Italy would stop me rushing over here to you?”
Your giggle was against your control. Even if he was more like family than a romantic interest, the way his accent twisted around coyly spoken words, was enough to bring a blush to even the most unreceptive woman’s face. “Cut it out, you flirt.”
“You’ll save me a dance later, right?”
“We’ll see.” He rose his brow, and you lifted your glass, taking a sip of bubbly to hide your smile, leaving him hanging. “Depends on how much more of your cheesy flirting I can endure.”
“You mean my wonderful Italian charm?” He teased, pinching one of your cheeks, and deepening the flush he had already created. “Don’t think I don’t see the way I make you blush.
You could only scoff, mouth dry as you tried to think of a retort, and you didn’t miss Theo muttering in Italian behind you, curse words you’d picked up on tumbling from his mouth.
“Perhaps this can convince you,” Dario reaches for his inner pocket, producing a small, slim box. An excited squeak breaks from you as he hands it over, your fingers brushing the elegant leather, an Italian name embossed across the front. “Open it later, alright?”
You could only nod, admiring it happily, before slipping the box safely inside of your clutch. He took your hand, kissing your knuckles as he stood. A final wink as he offered you hid charming goodbyes, and a farewell to the rest of the table, before returning his borrowed chair to where he had taken it from.
You watched as your friend left, disappearing into the crowd, no doubt to mingle and socialise as he had always been so good at, before you swung back around in your chair.
“He taught you everything you know, huh, Nott?”
Theo only shrugged, a cheeky grin on his face. “What can I say, tesoro? We Nott men just have charm. We’ll woo your panties right off.” He winked, the cockiness not lasting long as Draco swung at him, a fist landing roughly on his arm as the Malfoy heir scowled, glaring at his best friend.
“Cut it out.” He growled the words through gritted teeth, and your hand shot up, rubbing at your lip to hide your grin as Draco made no effort to hide his own emotions. Theo only laughed, rubbing at the patch on his arm he’d taken the hit.
Dessert was served, a beautiful display of ice cream and winter berries that almost looked too good to eat. The key word being almost. You hadn't been able to resist, however, and the first small groan you’d let out as the sugar hit your tongue had Draco’s gaze snapping straight to you. I did not leave, once, after.
Instead, he watched, through a dark gaze, every curl of your lips around the spoon, every swipe of your tongue to catch the juice of burst berries. If you’d put on a little extra show, just for him, nobody else had to know.
It was like he was staring right into your soul, so intense, even after the meal was long since finished. Finally, you indulged him once again, turning to look at him and raising a brow. “Yes, Draco?”
“You look beautiful tonight, I am simply admiring.” He let his gaze move across you slowly, making his admiration apparent, and his gaze lingered a fraction of a second longer on your neck. He stared at you with open adoration, the kind of look that told you exactly how he felt, even if he was fighting it, but he was close to breaking. He was close to losing this game he didn’t know he was playing. Then, his gaze flickered over your shoulder, sweet observation morphing. His brows drew together, his open hand slamming down on the table hard enough to make the glass rattle. “Oh, fucking hell…”
Mattheo erupted with sudden laughter, loud and brash, and there was a tap on your shoulder before you could even ask him what had him in such hysterics. A young man you did not know, perhaps a few years younger than you, and glanced around the table to see which of your friends had put this one together. Each seemed to have caught on in their own time, and had a hand in adding to the fun, to watch Draco suffer more, but none of them were laying any claim to this one.
“I’ve been watching you all evening, and you are beautiful.” He smiled, stuttering over his words slightly, and Draco made no shy show of his disdain, rolling his eyes and making a disapproving sound. “I was wondering if you might grant me the pleasure of a dance?”
“She would dance with you,” Enzo interrupted, before you could speak at all, leaning forward toward the edge of your chair from his own, and you could have kissed him in gratitude for saving you. “But, she promised me her first dance. Isn’t that right, love? And I think now is the perfect time. Let’s go.”
Offering you his hand, you took it, letting him sweep you away without a second’s delay, navigating you both to the dance floor and twirling you expertly into his arms. One hand clasped your own, the other sitting at a respectable place on your waist, your own on his shoulder, and he fell into the well-rehearsed steps of a classical ballroom dance he’d been doing since he could walk.
You let out a shaky sigh, relief flooding your veins as you looked back to your seat, noticing that the boy had taken Enzo’s rejection well and disappeared, not hanging around and waiting for your return.
“You’re killing him slowly, like a predator playing with its prey,” Enzo smirked, neither of you needing to clarify who you were talking about, as he brought up his cousin.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Really?” He chuckled, spinning you out before pulling you back in, sharp actions that made you dizzy with their accuracy, and you grinned as he brought you tumbling right back into his arms, perfectly. If he’d been trying to win you over, his dancing alone would’ve had you swooning. “You just show up to a fancy event like this, dripping in diamonds and pearls and looking like a million bucks, supposedly single. You mean to tell me you didn’t know that all these rich London boys wouldn't descend on you like vultures?”
“Not my fault I’m single and hot, Enz.”
He just laughed, dipping you a little. “We do struggle, don’t we.” You wove between people, a happy silence falling between you both once again as he guided you over the floor, back and forth, “Are you, though? Single, I mean.”
“That is up to your cousin.”
“Touché.”
You continued to move, until your feet were sore from all the twirling, clinging to Enzo in fits of giggles as he spun and twirled and dipped you more, hands on your waist as he lifted you through the air, making a show of his dancing.
He may have seemed altruistic in his gestures, sweeping in to save you and Draco from your dance with the boy, but he was using you too. Enzo was taking every opportunity to show off his moves to every lady around the room watching, a flirty smile on his face between conversations and he glanced around, and you wouldn't be surprised if he received more offers than Theo or Dario by the end of the night.
As the third song came to an end, and the music fell for just a second, you panted slightly, arm around his neck now, looking up at him with flushed cheeks and a bright smile. “Can we take a break?”
“Tired, already? You only gave me three so far.” He smirked at the way your jaw dropped, your face going hot and you knew your cheeks were red. You untangled yourself from his body, barely making it a step away from his laughter before he wrapped an arm around your waist, tugging you into his side. “Oh, c’mon. I thought the aim was to flirt and make him mad?”
“He’s not even here to listen!”
“I’m practising,” Enzo murmured, steering you towards the bar, and leaning on the wood as he flagged down the bartender. You were quickly served, by a woman who fawned over Enzo as she passed by, and you had to snap your fingers in front of his face to snap his gaze away from her retreating form. “So, how long are you going to make him—”
A tap on Enzo’s shoulder cut him off, and he turned to look, straightening up instantly from his slumped position. As soon as he moved so you could see, your relaxation melted away too, as you found yourself face to face with Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy.
“Lorenzo, I’ve hardly had a chance to talk to you all evening. I want to ask you about your schoolwork.” The impressively formal and deep voice of Lucius Malfoy settled over your skin like fresh snow, cold but smooth, and you shuddered.
Narcissa only chuckled lightly at her husband’s words, her eyes on you. “You’ve been busy, though. Who is your lovely lady?”
“Uncle Lucius, Aunt Cissa. This is my friend, (Y/n).”
It wasn’t exactly the circumstances you’d wanted to meet them under, but you smiled nonetheless, nerves running wild as you offered your hand to them both, shaking politely just as your parents had taught you.
“Ah, (Y/n). Yes. I make a point of knowing all of Draco’s school friends, but I’m in business with your father, aren’t I?” Something like a small kernel of sweetness was buried in that statement, his interest in his son’s life, even if he tried to hide it behind formalities, but it wasn’t your place to comment.
“Yes, sir. That is correct.”
“They’re very proud of your schoolwork. They were telling me about your latest project. You synthesised a new potion to grow murkweed faster, is that true?”
You were surprised he knew so much, your small project submitted for Herbology was the last thing you’d expected Lucius Malfoy to know of, or take an interest in, and your mouth felt like sandpaper as you tried to form words. “Yes. Yes, sir. That’s right.”
“Interesting.” That calculating gaze scanned over you, analysing you from head to toe, like he could see right through you with a single glance. “That is impressive, for someone of your age. I’d be open to learning more. Are you considering making a future out of your alchemy talents? I have connections that I could contact for you.”
You were speechless, your stomach going wild with butterflies born of both excitement and anxiety. He smirked, a look that would set you on edge if you weren’t sure deep down that this was in your interests, not against them.
“Perhaps we can discuss it more soon, when we next see you. With Enzo?”
Enzo’s arm around your waist shifted, a reassuring weight that you were sure had been your only grounding presence for this surreal conversation. He patted your hip encouragingly. “Oh, no, we aren’t…”
Motioning between you both, Lucius’ brows furrowed, and Narcissa tried to hide her sigh.
“Sorry to disappoint you, Aunt Cissa. (Y/n) isn’t mine, though it is wonderful that you approve.” Before either could question him, or expand on their confusion, Enzo gave your waist a final rub, before removing his touch from you entirely, and stepping towards his family. “Shall we go and discuss schoolwork then, Uncle? You have questions, and I have answers. I hope the ones you want.”
“It was a pleasure to meet you, Miss (Y/l/n).” Lucius politely offered you his hand again, shaking it firmly, and that was about as friendly a dismissal as you’d ever get from him, you’d heard. This was only supported by the surprised look on Narcissa’s face, and the beam Enz gave you as he guided his uncle away.
“I hope to see you again soon, (Y/n). You look wonderful this evening, thank you for coming.” Narcissa murmured, before following her husband and nephew, glancing back at you only once over her shoulder. She knew. The woman was far more cunning than she let on, the true embodiment of a sneaky Slytherin, observing quietly and taking everything in. Her eyes glinted. She knew you knew she knew, too.
Your heart was pounding, cheeks warm as you lifted your fingers to them cautiously. The disappointed waitress placed down two drinks before you, Enzo long gone without his, but you smiled at her with appreciation, fingers shaking a little as you lifted the glass to your lips to take a sip.
You’d spoken to Draco’s parents.
They’d liked you. Lucius had offered to put you onto the career path, and Narcissa had complimented your dress. A soft laugh of disbelief slipped free, your eyes sliding closed for just a second as you revelled in the moment.
It hasn’t been what you’d set out for tonight, but it was far more than what you’d hoped for. Opening your eyes again, to head back to the table and find Draco, you were met by the sight of a stranger leaning before you on the bar, grinning down at you in amusement. “Hello.”
“Hi.” You gave a terse smile, and a single nod. “If you’ll excuse me—”
“I didn’t even get to ask you to dance yet. Saw you out on the floor with the Berkshire boy, earlier, and I thought—”
“I’m dancing with her next, mate. Piss off.”
Draco rarely sounded that mad, a chill went down your spine as you felt an arm slide around your waist, tugging you back into his chest. “Dray…”
The stranger only scoffed, glaring at Draco as he wandered away, and your hand reached for his forearm on your body. He snatched it away too soon, however, tugging on your hip to turn you around. His jaw was clenched tight, eyes more frozen than the coldest glacier. “Dance with me.”
Not a request, and he didn’t wait for an answer, before plucking your drink from your hand and slamming it down onto the bar, guiding you back to the swaying bodies. Standing before you, you offered him your hand, your hand sitting lightly on his shoulder. He didn’t take the respectable route, instead, his arm wrapped tight around your waist, sweeping you close to his body, and beginning to move you both in simple steps.
It was several minutes before he relaxed, your arm sliding further around his neck in a more intimate hold, bringing the two of you much closer, swaying slowly. The tension in his body gave way with every step, and with a resigned sigh, he finally spoke, “You met my parents.”
“I did. They were lovely. Very curious about Enzo and I’s relationship.”
His hand clenched on your waist, and you tipped your head at him as his piercing gaze drilled into you. One more move…
“Oh, don’t be so mad, Dray. We’re only shagging, after all. You’ll find a new girl if I get swept away by someone else.”
His eyes narrowed, jaw clenching, and a fire burned in those silver eyes now, melting the ice away with rage. Checkmate.
“You win, alright? I’m not playing this stupid game any longer.” He took a deep breath, and another, fingers twitching on your back as jealousy bubbled under the surface. “For fucks sake, how many pieces of jewellery from other guys are you wearing? Who bought you those earrings, that necklace? I should be the only one buying you gifts. I should be the one spoiling you. You want the Malfoy family ring? I’ll go yank it off my mother’s engagement ring from her finger right now, just take all this off.”
He studied you for a second, confusion growing at the smirk that grew on your lips. Victory was yours, and you leaned in, pressing a delicate kiss to his cheek. Letting the hand from his neck smooth down his chest, his gaze stayed locked on the jewels around your neck, glaring angrily. “No.”
“No?”
“No. It’s pretty. I’m going to keep wearing it all, let it remind you what you have. Next time you piss me off, forget a date, or use the last of my shampoo, I’m going to put it all back on so you can remember how many guys would jump at the chance.” His nostrils flared, but he stayed silent, wisely knowing when to keep his mouth shut. “I don’t want your family ring, Malfoy. Not yet. I just want a proper title, and the respect that comes with it. I’m not your booty call, or your side piece. You don’t want to play games anymore? Then don’t.”
“You already won.” He whispers, his head dropping down to let his forehead rest on your own. “You know how much you mean to me.”
“Yes, I do. But I want the whole world to know it, too, Dray.”
He didn’t respond verbally. Instead, he twisted his head, enough to press his mouth to your own, silencing any more arguments between you both as he kissed you. His lips claimed yours, a tender and loving kiss, showing everyone just how much you meant to him. There was no mistaking the emotions within it, not as his arms wrapped around your body, holding you to him as the pretence of dancing was given up, your hand on the back of his head, fingers in his hair, meeting every push and pull.
When he pulled away, your smile took over, bashful now under his openly adoring gaze, and he stole several more pecks from your lips. A happy sound escaped you as he tugged you in, tucking his face into your neck, and swaying you both to the music.
“Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?”
“You have, but I’d be open to hearing it again.” Your hand smoothed over his hair, and he chuckled against your skin, leaving a kiss on the crook of your neck before raising to meet your eye.
“You are breathtaking, darling. I’m in awe. This colour is my favourite, you know.”
“Why do you think I wore it?”
His fingers trailed down your spine, eyes sparkling even more at that revelation. “How about we get out of here? We’ll make our goodbyes to my parents, and head out.”
“Our goodbyes?” You repeated as he took your hand, lacing your fingers together.
“Yes. From their son and his girlfriend. I think you deserve a proper introduction, after all.”
Tugging you across the floor, he gave you no time to prepare, and certainly, none to disagree, as you smoothed your hair and attempted to control the blush he’d brought to your cheeks. Through the crowds he wove, until he was pulling to a stop just shy of his parents, and Enzo looked as though he could have cried with relief when Lucius’ intense focus was taken away from him. The boy quickly slipped away as both of Draco’s parents turned to face you.
“Miss (Y/l/n), when we said we hoped to see you again soon, I didn’t realise you’d take it quite this literally.” He murmured, voice as low and calm as always, and your lips parted, a different kind of heat flooding your features.
“Oh, behave now, Lucius,” Narcissa grinned, her gaze dropping to your clasped hands, before she reached up to her son’s face, pinching his cheek with a smile. “Draco, darling, I’ve hardly seen you all evening.”
“Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you Mother, but we’ll be leaving early.” She only gave him a knowing look, ignoring Lucius’ displeased huff, as if she wasn’t surprised at all.
“‘We’?”
“My girlfriend and I.” He said, proud and strong, before tugging you forward a little more to stand in front of him. His hand left your own, circling your waist instead, and she offered him a smile at the news.
“I see.” She smiled, patting her son’s cheek affectionately, before turning that knowing gaze on you. “Now Lorenzo’s evasiveness whenever I asked him about you makes sense.”
“You asked about me?” Your words were a rushed squeak, which only seemed to amuse Narcissa more.
“Of course, dear. I wanted to know more about you. I’d ask you to sit and chat with me for a spell, but I believe my son might combust if I did.”
“Mother!” He gasped, and Lucius only tutted.
“Draco.” His father growled softly, shaking his head, and the red on his son’s cheeks only grew.
“You both may go, for now. But I hope you’ll visit me soon, and we might talk?”
“You mean… just us?” Your words tapered off to a near whisper, and Lucius smirked to himself as Draco rolled his eyes.
“Yes, dear. We’ll have tea.”
You could only nod, bidding your final farewells to them both in a state of awe, before Draco was hurrying you along. Tight hands gripping your waist, lips on your neck as he loved you through the crowds, swiping up your bag and giving you barely a moment to say goodbye to your friends before sweeping you away again. It was only due to the snow falling outside, you were sure, that he allowed you to stop long enough to get your coats.
Helping you, he lifted the garment onto you from behind, kissing your cheek as he reached around your body to fasten it. His elegant coat was already on, and leather gloves were on his hands as he offered you one. Lacing your fingers through his own, he smiled, tugging you out into the freezing night, and ushering you around the side of the Manor, away from the stream of cars lined up for guests as they left.
“Where are we going, Dray?”
“To one of the gardens near the path.” He never turned back, leading you carefully around patches of ice and slippery snow as you moved, the light from the house fading. It was almost pitch black, before he mumbled a small spell, and the garden lights glowed to light, glittering on the fresh blanket of ice.
Sitting on the grass was an old-fashioned sleigh, enchanted to keep dry, even in the snow, and two reindeer sat happily in the snow snuffling at the grass and scattered food.
The landscape stretched out far before you both, trees and grass and walls all covered in snow like something from a Christmas card, and the sigh that left your lips clouded in the air before your face.
“Oh, Draco…” Taking a few steps closer, snow-tipped over the tops of your heels as you stepped off the pathway onto the grass, chilling your feet for only a second, before Draco was following. Scooping you up into his arms, you kicked the ice from your feet with a giggle, your arms looping around his neck. “What’s all this?”
“This is your Christmas present. I didn’t realise that was the kind of ice you wanted instead.” He muttered, eyes flicking down to your neck, as he carried you carefully through the snow and towards the ornate sleigh. As you leaned in to kiss his cheek, he smiled shyly, avoiding your gaze as he became embarrassed, “I wanted to do something romantic for you. We can take the sleigh back to the town, get a cab, and take the jet anywhere you want to go. Pansy already packed a bag for you.”
He placed you down on the edge of the sleigh, letting you shuffle across onto the warmed leather. With another kiss to your lips, he scoffed at your smile.
“Merry Christmas, my wicked little girlfriend.”
“I can’t believe you arranged all this.” You were practically bouncing in your seat, watching as Draco nervously tugged on the reins, prompting the lazy animals to stand back up, before settling into the sleigh himself. Like they knew just what to do, they took off in a slow trot, tugging the pair of you along through the snow.
“Maybe if you’d have waited, instead of making me fight for my life tonight, you’d have been surprised.”
His arm was splayed along the back of the seat, and you snuggled in a little closer to him. Curling his arm around you, he pressed a kiss to your forehead, shaking his head and burying his nose in your hair. “If I didn’t make you fight for me, Dray, you’d probably have introduced me to your mother as your study partner. I gave you a little push, that’s all.”
“Is that so?” He muttered, guiding your face up so he could peck your lips. “Who do you think helped me arrange all of this for my ‘lovely lady friend’, hm? I’ve been writing to my mother about having an interest in someone for months now. You underestimate me.”
“You never gave me any other indication!”
“Oh, please. You walk me like a damn dog, you knew how I felt.” His mouth closed over your own, stealing a kiss, and you couldn't help but smile into it. “I think tonight just proves it.”
The sleigh trotted on as Draco kissed you in the back, beyond thought and reason, your hands tucked into his coat for warmth as he kept you cuddled in close to his side.
Minutes melted away, the two of you lost in your own world as you jostled and trotted through the fields, back toward the town. Whatever he had planned, it had been in motion for days, and the thought only made you fall a little more in love with him. Perhaps you had underestimated him, but none of it mattered now, not when he was kissing you like you were his only way to breathe, and you had him in your arms, properly, at last.
“So, Pansy knew about your little plan?”
“Yes. I told her days ago.”
“Hm…” You loved her, and it was perhaps her knowledge of Draco’s actions that made this all the funnier. “So, she knew about your plan, and mine. And still, she made sure to introduce guys to me all night. She played us both just for her own amusement.”
As you thought of her, your fingers lifted to your neck, sitting on the delicate jewellery there, and Draco huffed. Looping his finger underneath it, he tugged lightly. “Can you take this off now, please?”
“Why would I do that?” His pout deepened, glaring at the offending item, and you gave in with an airy laugh. “Pansy, Daph and Tori picked it out personally.”
“What?” His head snapped up, pout gone as his jaw dropped, and he was not laughing like you were. “You let me believe another guy decked you out in diamonds all night! What about the matching earrings?”
“Blaise.”
“The bracelet?”
“Theo and the Notts.”
At that mention, his eyes narrowed again, searching for your clutch and finding it resting in your lap. “But Theo’s cousin Mario gave you a separate gift.”
“Dario.” You corrected, and he mimicked it childishly, scoffing afterwards. “Well, that part was real. He truly was flirting, and I have no idea what it is, I haven’t opened it yet.”
“Give it to me.” He reached for your bag, a second too slow as you swiped it away from him with a gasp. He didn’t give up, still trying to snatch it as he leaned over you, pressing you back into the seat through fits of laughter, the two of you fighting over the bag until it was pressed to your chest, your eyes wide as you stared up at him, shaking your head. “Give it to me! I’m chucking it, hand it over!”
“No, it’s mine!” He slumped back into his seat, panting for breath and smoothing his hair back down. He was pointedly staring away in the opposite direction, and when you leaned in closer with a chuckle, he leaned away. Grabbing his shoulder, you planted yourself firmly in his lap, kissing the underside of his jaw. “I’m keeping it, but your present is better, I just know it. Whatever it is, could never beat this.”
“Promise?”
“I promise, Dray.”
He gave in, wrapping his arms around your waist, tugging you in closer to his body and pressing a happy kiss to your cheek. “Fine, but I’m buying you a new necklace when we get off the damn plane. I don’t care who bought that one.”

Taehyung placed me on the bathroom counter, his hands firm on my thighs. My lips collided with his eagerly as my hands spidered the back of his neck. His hands pulled me closer, making me feel how eager he was. I grabbed the sleeve of his suit, not caring if it was going to rip.
Today was an awards night, and I managed to find a small bathroom so I could have a moment alone with him.
We weren't lovers, we didn't have any kind of romantic relationship. We were friends, or almost, who had sex whenever they wanted. It was simple.
Because we were idols, we had duties and rules to follow. No one could know that we are friends with benefits.
I'm part of a small girl group of just four girls. Our debut was three years ago, and despite being young, we had already sold a lot of albums and won some awards. Even so, we weren't as big as BTS.
I met him through another idol, who had already dated Hoseok, and decided to introduce me to Taehyung. We started to be friends, and after a night of drinking, we woke up at my house. We agreed to continue doing this without having to be in a relationship.
“I need you so much.” I moaned against his mouth. He grunted in response, his hands firmly squeezing my ass. I knew I should stay quiet, so that no staff would enter the bathroom we were in.
His body pressed me against the counter. I wrapped my legs around his hips, crossing my feet and pulling him closer. I felt like he was already ready for me, making me let out a long sigh.
“Take off your suit.” I ordered, breathless. He moved away to obey me. Tae took off his coat and started to unbutton his white blouse, throwing it on the bathroom floor. I prayed the floor wasn't wet, or we'd be in trouble. He turned to me, kissing me again. My hands began to caress Taehyung's soft body, enjoying the sensation of touching him.
I pushed him away, getting up from the counter. My heels hindered me a little but I didn't remove them. I approached him, pushing him against the room door. Taehyung sighed, seeing that I was unzipping the side zipper of my short dress.
After stripping down to my lingerie, I knelt on the floor, looking at him with a mischievous smile on my lips.
Taehyung looked at me, his eyes sweeping my body from top to bottom. Despite the situation we were in, he still had a kind and caring look.
I got up, going towards his lips to kiss him again, but he didn't reciprocate. I thought maybe he wanted something bolder than a kiss, and in response to that, I fell to my knees again, my hands reaching for the belt of his pants.
I started to open it, seeing him looking at me.
“Wait, Y/N.” He grumbled, and I stopped, looking at him.
“What happened?” I questioned, wondering if perhaps he had heard someone approaching.
Taehyung gently pushed me away, looking at me. He was silent for a few seconds, seeming to think about something. The man passed his hand over his face, looking tired.
“I can not do this anymore.” He murmured.
“What?” I asked, surprised. I didn't know what to say. He had really surprised me.
“I don't want to do this anymore.” He mumbled, sadly.
I stared at him, not knowing how to react. She was embarrassed, frustrated and a little angry. I felt used, like he had just played with me and now he was going to throw me away.
“You looked like you wanted it five minutes ago.” I said, looking at him furiously. “You know what? If you don't want me anymore, I don't want you either. I'm leaving.” I picked up my dress from the floor, putting it back on my body. As soon as the zipper was closed again, I stared at him.
I walked to the door, with my hand on the handle, waiting for the hallway to become quiet so I could open it and leave.
He grabbed my wrist, stopping me.
“No, that's not what I mean, Y/N.” He said, standing up.
“So, what do you mean?” I questioned.
He sighed and mumbled under his breath. I stared at him, waiting for him to finish explaining.
“I can't have sex with you anymore.” He declared. “Every time you send me a message saying you want to see me, I don't know what to feel or think.” Taehyung said.
“Do you have a girlfriend or are you in love with a girl?” I asked.
“No.” He said, hurriedly. “I just can't do this anymore.” The man gave me a sad smile. “Sorry, Y/N.”
“Don't you have a better explanation than that?” I questioned, angrily.
It was more than clear that he had lost interest in me. He must have been wanting to have something with another idol, or with some girl, and wanted to kick me. We had no relationship, but I deserved to know the truth.
“Fuck you, Taehyung!” I said, opening the bathroom door and leaving, thanking the heavens that the hallway was empty. The staff were busy with their own groups to see me coming out of a suspicious bathroom.
[...]
A few weeks had passed, and my group had a lot of events, which left me with little time to think about Taehyung.
He had been sending me millions of messages, and after I blocked him, he used his friends cell phone to try to reach me. I tried to ignore it, but it was getting difficult.
“You're so quiet, Y/N.” My groupmate, HyunYoung, said, sitting next to me.
“ Ihave a headache.” I smiled at her, embarrassed.
Even though we were friends, none of the girls in the group knew about me and Taehyung. I trusted them, but I was afraid of any of the staff listening.
“You know I don't believe that.” She argued. “It was some boy, right?” She smiled. “Men are always idiots, and most don't know how to express themselves well, give him a chance to explain himself.”
I looked at her, seeing that HyunYoung was really being sincere.
I thought about Taehyung, and how I hadn't let him tell me the truth, and how I hadn't read any of his messages. I was trying to ignore him, acting completely childish.
I smiled at her, hugging her.
“Thank you, unnie.” I said. “I'll follow your advice.”
She laughed.
“Just don't let Jia know about it.” She mentioned another member of our group. “She always says she gives better advice than mine.”
I took out my smartphone, unlocked Taehyung's number. I sighed as I thought of something.
In a hurry, I typed the message and sent it, without giving time for fear to make me give up.
“Tae, it’s Y/N, can you meet me so we can talk?”
Within seconds, I got an answer. I read the message carefully, already grabbing my bag and telling the staff that I was leaving.
“Meet me at my house in twenty minutes”
I ran to my car, driving to the address I already knew very well. He lived in a house in Gangnam, within a gated residential complex.
As soon as I parked the car, I got out of the car, sighing to gain courage. I was anxious and my heart was beating uncontrollably. I felt butterflies in my stomach, and I felt like I was going to faint.
I walked to the entrance, ringing the doorbell. The door opened, revealing Taehyung, who was wearing black jeans and a blue t’shirt.
I took off my high heels, leaving them at the entrance. We remained silent until we reached the living room. Taehyung sat in an armchair, while I preferred to remain standing.
“I know you must be confused.” He started to say.
“I am.” I grumbled. “You rejected me, I felt worse than trash.”
He nodded, looking sad.
“I never wanted you to feel this way.” He explained. “But I can't do this anymore.” Taehyung said, clearly referring to our strange friendship.
“Why?” I wanted to know.
He mumbled, his eyes watering, looking like he wanted to cry.
“I don't want to do this anymore, Y/N.” Tae said, looking at the floor, avoiding my face. “Every time we sleep together, every time you kiss me, I feel like an idiot.” Taehyung grumbled. “And my heart betrays me.” He whispered, but I could hear it.
“Your heart?” I asked. “Are you in love with someone?”
He nodded, still without looking at me.
I sighed, approaching him. The man seemed even sadder.
“It's okay, Taehyung.” I spoke. “We can just be friends, without anything else involved.”
“We can't be friends, Y/N.” Tae said, finally looking up. His eyes were swollen, and his face was red.
I tried to touch him, but he slowly pushed me away.
“Why, Tae?” I asked.
He stared at me, sighing and rubbing his eyes.
“I fell in love.” He said, in a low tone. “I fell in love with you, Y/N.”
I looked at him in amazement, not believing what I had heard. He looked at me, wanting to see my reaction.
“You love me?" I asked, still processing the information. I wasn't sure how I should react. Taehyung lowered his head, avoiding eye contact with me.
“Forget.” He said. “Forget I said that.” He stood up, walking away.
Without thinking much, I grabbed his arm, pulling him so I could face him. On impulse, I pressed my lips to his. Our kiss wasn't like the others.
It wasn't carnal, based on sex like the other times we slept together. He was sweet, kind and full of feelings.
I've never been good at showing what I feel or think, but I think the kiss was enough.
When our kiss ended, Taehyung couldn't wipe a sweet smile off his face, seeming to be happy with my reaction.
“What does that mean?” He wanted to know, caressing my face.
“It means you now have a girlfriend, Taehyung.” I smiled, kissing him again.

Barry Allen was running like lightning. Cisco decided to test Barry's speed by making him run as fast as he could.
The leaves of the trees swayed as he passed, leaving everything in disarray along the way. Barry didn't care if he was going too fast, until a crack opened in front of him and he couldn't stop.
The speedstet was thrown to the wet grass ground. He quickly stood up and looked around, wondering if it was to the past or the future. Everything was normal.
Barry noticed that there were some buildings in places that were once houses and assumed that he was in the future. He knew he couldn't risk changing the future, but he was curious.
He was surprised to see the name “Allen” engraved on the mailbox of a large house. The house was white and had three floors. He approached, seeing that on the porch of the house there was a swing and a dog house with the name “Grant” engraved on it.
Barry questioned whether he actually read the right name on the mailbox. He didn't have much time to think before a big, fat dog ran towards him, knocking Flash to the ground. The dog caught him off guard.
The animal began to lick his face, making him laugh. Barry carefully pushed the dog away, standing up.
“Sit down!” He said to the dog and to Barry's surprise, the animal obeyed and sat down on the grass. The dog wagged its tail and seemed very happy.
Flash heard laughter coming from the door. He looked up and let out an exclamation of surprise when he saw that Y/N was standing in front of the door, arms crossed.
“I thought you wouldn't be back until tomorrow. Cisco called saying you had an accident in Star City.” Y/N said, walking towards Barry.
The man tried to find words to respond to his friend, but was petrified when he received a kiss from his childhood friend.
The woman ran her hand through Barry's brown hair and looked at him tenderly. Flash noticed that she had a beautiful ring on her fingers. She got married.
Y/N kissed Barry again, leaving him in a state of panic. The brunette never thought about kissing his friend, since he was in love with Iris.
“Let's go. Benjamin and Anastasia are alone long enough to set the house on fire.” Y/N said, pulling the speedster's hand to force him into the house.
“Benjamin and Anastasia?” He asked, frowning. Who were these people?
“Are you going to say you forgot your children's names?” Y/N asked in a playful tone. Barry opened his mouth in shock.
Flash barely had time to say anything. Two small and cute bodies collided with Allen. They were children.
Benjamin and Anastasia they are kids. Barry and Y/N's children.
Flash opened his mouth but couldn't say a word. He looked at the kids who had Y/N's hair color and Barry's green eyes.
The boy looked a lot like Barry and had a very sweet smile. The girl looked like a beautiful princess.
“Daddy!” The girl said, extending her hand for Barry to take it. The speedster wondered if he should pick the girl up, but after Anastasia pouted at him, Barry grabbed the girl and gave her a big hug.
Barry had children. He started a family.
It wasn't with Iris as he imagined, but Y/N seemed to love him so intensely that it was clear there was a lot of love.
“Daddy. Ben, my mom and I made chocolate cake.” Anastasia said. Her voice was soft and sweet. Barry almost cried when the girl laid her head on his shoulder.
“Mom let me make the frosting with the mixer.” Benjamin, who looked to be two years older than Anastasia said, smiling proudly.
“It must be delicious.” Barry said smiling at the boy. The boy hugged Allen's leg.
The two children dragged Barry into the kitchen and made the speedster eat many pieces of cake and a pitcher of juice that Benjamin prepared. It was sour, but Barry enjoyed every drop to make the boy happy.
The house was big and warm. Barry couldn't tell if it was hot because of the heater or if it was because of the family that lived there. The kitchen of the house had a large blackboard glued to the counter where it indicated what needed to be bought at the market and who would wash the dishes that day.
Barry loved everything. It seemed strange at first, but now it was an incredible future. For the first time in his life, Barry felt that everything would work out in the end.
He thought the children were normal, that they weren't speedsters. But the moment Y/N dropped a glass, Benjamin ran like lightning and didn't let the object fall to the floor.
“Are you a speedster?” Barry asked with a face full of surprise.
“Of course my love.” Y/N said, emphasizing “my love”. In the present, she always called Barry ‘Allen’ or some stupid nickname. Barry liked to be called ‘my love’. “Our babies are just like you. Even though Anastasia hates running”
“I prefer to walk.” The girl said. It was the cutest sight Barry had ever seen. The little girl had a teddy bear on her lap and used a toy spoon to give the teddy bear some imaginary food.
“You look strange, dad.” Benjamin said. The boy was focused on a portable video game and barely looked at the people at the table.
“Seriously, Barry. Are you well? “ Y/N asked her husband. She noticed that the speedster was dazed and looked strange. “Children, can you keep the cake in the fridge and then go play in your bedrooms?”
“Yes mom.” The kids said at the same time. Benjamin used his super speed to put the cake in the refrigerator and went to his bedroom. Anastasia preferred to walk like a normal human being.
Y/N took Barry to the living room. The fireplace was lit for winter and some toys were lined up in the hallway. The dog that Barry assumed was family was lying on the couch with its belly up.
“What happened, Barry?” She asked as soon as Barry sat down in the room. She noticed that her husband seemed to have never set foot in the house and was looking at everything like a curious visitor.
“Anything. It's okay, honey.” Allen tried to sound convincing.
“Barry, I wanted to tell you something.” Y/N sat on Barry's lap, leaving him perplexed. The speedster stood as still as a statue as the woman placed a long kiss on his lips. “Do you like having two children?”
“Obviously. Ben and Ana are amazing kids.” Barry said, trying to sound like the father they know.
“Then I think you'll love having three children even more!” Y/N said, with watery eyes. She took a box out of her pocket and Barry recognized it as a pregnancy test box. “I found out two days ago, but I was going to wait for you to get back from Star City.”
“Are you pregnant?” Barry asked.
“Yes. Caitlin thinks I have five weeks. It's still the size of a bean, but I already love it so much.” Y/N said, rubbing her belly.
Y/N was surprised to receive a hug from her husband. Barry was shaking and seemed surprised, something strange since he already has two children.
Allen had tears in his eyes and Y/N returned the hug, laying her head on his shoulder.
“Thank you, Y/N.” Barry thanked him. “Thank you for being my family and for giving me three incredible children. You are perfect.”
“You gave it to me, Barry. You played an important role in creating them.” She said laughing. Flash was thinking about how weird it would be to have sex with his best friend. Barry had known Y/N since elementary school and had never thought of her in a romantic way.
Now, Barry envied future Barry, who had perfect children and a beautiful woman who loved him. The Flash hoped this was his future.
“How did we start dating?” The man asked, trying not to sound rude and irritate the woman.
“You were almost killed by a villain and I realized I loved you. But Iris also realized that she loved you. It took a long time for you to decide that you loved me and ask me to be your girlfriend.“ She explained laughing. “You're always quick, but you read a lot into some things.”
“Funny.” He said, squeezing Y/N's waist. Barry's cell phone rang and the woman got up from his lap, letting Flash pick up the phone and answer it.
“Dude, where are you? You were running and suddenly disappeared.” He heard Cisco say. Flash's friend was nervous.
“I'm coming, Cisco.” Barry said, then hung up without letting Cisco answer. “Y/N, I have to go. Cisco needs my help.”
“Sure honey.” Y/N said, giving her husband another kiss. “Come back early for dinner. Ben's notes arrived today and he wants you to see them at dinner time.”
“OK.” Barry looked closely at the woman and the house before heading to the door. This was a perfect future. “See you later, Y/N.”
“Save the world, Flash.” Y/N said, while stroking her own belly. Barry took one last look at Y/N before running to go back to the past.
Tears streamed down Barry's face as he ran. Barry always wanted to have a family and in the future he did, with a pet dog and warm hugs.
As soon as Barry returned to the present, he went straight to Star Labs. He knew that back then you were helping Caitlin take care of the imprisoned metahumans .
“Hey man, where were you?” Cisco asked as soon as Barry stopped in the middle of Star labs.
“I fainted during the race.” Flash lied, knowing he couldn't tell anyone about the future. “Where is Y/N?”
“She's giving lunch to the imprisoned metahumans. She always does this.”
Barry didn't respond to his friend. He ran straight towards Y/N.
She had a tray in her hand and was walking towards a prisoner's cell.
“Hello, Y/N.” Flash greeted the girl. She just looked at him and smiled, walking again. “I was thinking. We've been friends for a long time and we've never gone out to dinner just the two of us.”
“Why should you go out with Iris, your great unrequited love.” Y/N replied, making Barry grimace.
“Do you want to go out with me on Friday for dinner?” Barry invited his friend. She smiled, stopping walking and looking at the brunette.
“Since you insist so much, I agree to go out with you, Allen.” Y/N said, running her hand through Barry's hair. He smiled, thinking that it wouldn't be so bad to marry you in the future.

I ran towards JYP's door, knowing I was late. My alarm clock didn't go off, and I had to take a taxi to avoid being too late.
I wished good morning to the security guard, who let me through with a smile on his face. He was really nice, and even offered to help me carry my heavy backpacks when I needed to take makeup and brushes to the car.
She had been working for JYP for three years, being the makeup artist for a single group during that time. I was assigned to Stray Kids from the first day, and I was very well received by everyone.
The boys are always very kind, and include you in conversations, they don't treat you like a robot but like another human being. I also go on tour with them, so everyone's makeup looks perfect for any occasion.
It was during one of the trips that what no one expected happened. During one night of the show, it was very cold and I hadn't brought any coat. Furthermore, I really missed my family who lived in another country. When I least expected it, Hyunjin appeared, offering me his sweater.
He sat next to me, on the floor, and started talking to me. We had already had interactions together, but this was the first time I was alone with him.
After the show, I received a turkey breast sandwich from one of the staff, with his cell phone number. We started talking a lot.
It didn't take long for Hyunjin invited me on a date, and I thought a lot before accepting. That was four months ago, and we've been dating ever since.
It's extremely confusing to date an idol, especially when you work for their company. We cannot be together in public, nor show feelings around the staff.
If anyone found out, I would be fired, and if our relationship became public, Hyunjin could be kicked out of Stray Kids.
“How are you, Y/N?” Felix said, sitting in the high chair in the makeup room. He had clips in his hair, while Hani, my professional colleague, applied foundation to his face. “Did you wake up very late?”
“My alarm clock’s fault.” I said, throwing my bag on one of the dressers. I sanitized my hand with some alcohol gel and read my schedule for the day.
I should do makeup on Changbin and Lee MinHo, and then I should only be available in case one of them needs to touch up their foundation or powder.
“Good morning, Changbin.” I said, pulling out the chair for the man to sit down. He laughed, sitting down and starting to scroll through his smartphone. “What is today's event?” I asked.
“Let's take photos for our new album, and then we can leave.” He explained.
“So, I will apply more natural makeup on you , okay?” I said, and he nodded, agreeing. I did the makeup, and after that, I met with MinHo, who talked the whole time.
After that, I sat at one of the tables in the break room, waiting for someone to need me. I bought a coffee from one of the vending machines, so my tiredness would disappear.
“Unnie?” Hani called me, with her hands crossed behind her back and a grimace on her face. “Can you do me a favour?”
“Yes.” I said, throwing the disposable cup in the trash. “What do you need me to do?”
“Can you help one of the boys in my place?” She asked. “I have to leave early today, and EunHee told me that I could only go if I finished my work.”
“Who's the last boy you have to put makeup on?”
“Hyunjin.” She said.
“Of course, I can do his makeup for you.” I said, with a small smile on my face, almost imperceptible.
“Thank you, Y/N, you are an angel.” She thanked, bowing and leaving celebrating. “I'll take you to barbecue tomorrow, as thanks.” Hani shouted at me, making me laugh.
I went to the makeup room, seeing that most of the group members were no longer present. Hyunjin was already sitting in the chair, and Felix was waiting for the hairdresser to finish fixing his hair.
“Hi.” I whispered to my boyfriend, seeing him smile when he saw me.
“Hello, jagiya.” He said, also in a low tone. “I almost celebrated when Hani told me she would ask you to do my makeup instead of her.”
The brunette threw his head back, with a wide smile. He had his hair tied up and his face clean.
“Oppa, how do you want your makeup?” I wanted to know. It was bold to be so intimate with him, but Felix knew about our relationship, as did the rest of Stray Kids, and they kept it quiet.
“Do what you think is best, beautiful.” He murmured close to me, emphasizing the final sentence. “I trust you."
“You shouldn't trust me." I commented, taking a little of the foundation of his tone and depositing it on the acrylic plate. I chose one of the sponges, starting to apply the product to his soft skin. “I could do ridiculous makeup on you.”
“It would still be good, because you made it.” He argued, making me laugh.
“Oppa, you are so cheesy.” I spoke, a little louder than I should have , attracting Felix's attention, who looked at us, laughing.
He looked at his friend, seeing that Felix was making fun of us. Hyunjin rolled his eyes, looking back at me.
“When we finish the photos, we will have the day free.” He said. “I want you to go to my apartment.” Hyunjin suggested.
“I have to finish organizing the product counter.” I explained. “ can't go today.” I whispered, looking for concealer in the drawers.
“You do this every day, and the other makeup artists take advantage of it.” He said. “No one will die if you don't wash your brushes or store your foundations. Other makeup artists never do this, they leave all the work to you. This is not just your obligation.”
“Oppa, But what if my boss gives me a warning?”
“Stop worrying, Y/N. The other staff have to clean up their own mess, instead of waiting for you to clean it up.” Hyunjin raised his eyes, looking at the ceiling as I applied concealer to his dark circles, which were barely visible. “Let's go to my apartment, I have a surprise for you.”
“It's okay, Hyunjin.”I whispered, bringing my face closer to his. “I'll come to your apartment as soon as I can leave.”
He smiled broadly.
“You won't regret it, jagiya.”
I finished the makeup, applying small layers of lip tint to his lips. I forced myself not to give him a kiss, seeing him smile at me, almost guessing my thoughts.
“Thank you, Y/N.” He thanked me, getting up from the chair and looking at me. He walked past me and sat on the couch next to Felix, starting an animated conversation with his friend.
[...]
After saying goodbye to my colleagues, I requested a taxi through the app, entering the address of the building where Hyunjin lived. It wasn't too far from the company, but it would take a long time if I walked.
I didn't have time to touch up my makeup, so I took advantage of my time in the elevator to reapply my lipstick and blush.
His apartment was on the fifteenth floor, and had an electronic door lock. Even though we had only been dating for a few months, Hyunjin told me what the password was. After entering the code, I opened the door.
The light in the living room was on, and when I entered the room, I heard the sound of water coming from the master bedroom, indicating that he was taking a shower.
“My love?” I called him, closing the door and walking to the suite bathroom. “I already arrived.”
“Honey?” He asked, and as soon as I confirmed, I heard the sound of the shower turning off. After a few seconds, the door opened, revealing my boyfriend, with wet hair and underwear.
He had a white towel in his hands, and started to dry his hair, while I sat on his bed, watching him walk around the room. Hwang went to the closet, coming back with sweatpants and a white t”shirt.
“Come closer.” He pulled me by the hand, making me stand up. I was inches away from his body.
Hyunjin closed the distance between us, pressing his soft lips against mine. My hands went towards his neck. He was a little taller than me, meaning I had to stand on tiptoe to reach him.
His mouth was wet and sweet, with the minty breath of someone who had just taken a shower. My boyfriend's left hand reached my hip, while his right went towards my face, caressing me.
I started running my fingers through his soft hair, the soft, wonderful smell of the shampoo. Hyunjin's perfume had a woody tone, with the soft scent of roses and a slightly discreet refreshment. It looked like paradise.
Reluctantly, he turned away from me, with a wide smile that made his eyes close.
“I have something for you.” He announced, pulling me into the living room. Hyunjin told me to sit down, while he went to his small painting studio, returning with a painting in hand. “I did something, and I think it might please you.” The idol smiled, shyly, handing me the painting.
It was packaged, with grass green wrapping paper and a small bow. He waited anxiously, watching me open the package.
As soon as I took out the paper, I let out a surprised sigh.
It was me.
He had painted me. Made my portrait.
It was a prettier version of me, much more beautiful than I saw myself in the mirror. Hyunjin painted me with a smile on my face, and without lipstick or eye shadow. It was so beautiful I almost couldn't stop looking at it.
“Happy four month anniversary together.” He said, making a shy face, seeming to fear that I wouldn't like the gift.
“Hyunjin...” I tried to say, but I couldn't stop admiring the beautiful way my boyfriend saw me. “ It's so beautiful...” I said, in a whisper.
“Did you like it?” He wanted to know.
“I loved.” I confessed, smiling. I placed the painting carefully on the couch, and stood up, facing my boyfriend. “But I didn't buy you anything, sorry...”
I bit my lip, feeling ashamed that I had forgotten that today was our anniversary.
“I don't need any gifts, Y/N.” He said. “You are my greatest and best gift.”
I laughed, throwing my head back.
“I’? really sorry, love.” I said, running her hand over his face.
Hyunjin held my hand, leading me to the kitchen.
“Stop it, I told you I don’t need anything.” The rapper said. I sat in the chair, watching him take dishes from the fridge. I offered help, but he refused. “The surprise is not over yet.”
“Do you have one more surprise for me?” I asked when I smelled the tasty aroma coming from the dishes.
“I cooked for you.” He announced, taking the lid off the container and showing me the food he had prepared. “Tteokbokki!” He said, proudly.
“You did that?” I asked, surprised.
He smiled, grabbing clean dishes from the cupboard. Hwang also placed two glasses and glasses on the table.
“I wanted to do something special for you, darling.” He said. “I always go to your house and eat the food you make, so I wanted to give back.”
I smiled at him, helping myself to a portion of the meal. My boyfriend also bought bottles of Soju and some wine. Because he was the oldest, he insisted on serving me the drink.
“Thanks.” II thanked him. “Everything is perfect, Hyunjin.”
I ate the first spoonful, tasting the food. He also tasted it, making a small face, usual when he liked something.
“It's so good.” I spoke.
The rapper and I finished eating, and even though I offered to wash the dishes, he forbid me from going near the sink. The brunette invited me to see a horror movie.
I sat down on the soft sofa, right next to him. Hyunjin began the horror film, adjusting himself on the upholstery. I rested my head on his shoulder, feeling the idol's hand slide over my shoulder, caressing me.
We hugged for most of the movie, until he put his hand on my thigh. It was an innocent gesture, but the hair on my body stood up, and I bit my lip, deciding to stop the movie.
I pulled the rapper by the neck, making him turn towards me. I kissed him very cheerfully. He returned the gesture, taking his hand off my thigh and placing it on my face.
In a bold move, I lay down on the couch, pulling him on top of me. Hyunjin wasn't heavy, but he still stayed on his knees so he didn't put all his weight on me.
The kiss continued, and the man let his mouth roam my face, distributing kisses until he reached my neck. I wore a black tank top, which left him free to leave me with several hickeys.
I took my hand to the hem of his shirt, letting it penetrate the fabric, feeling his slim abdomen. I felt him get goosebumps from my touch, and I gave a cheeky smile when I saw that Hyunjin kissed my breasts.
Suddenly, he stopped, sitting on the sofa and taking off his t”shirt, leaving just his pants on. I smiled when I saw the red marks I had left on his skin, probably my neck was equally marked.
“We're going to miss the end of the movie.” He said, laughing.
“We can see it again tomorrow.” I spoke. “However, we would lose the ending the same way.”
The brunette came back on top of me, taking his hands to the hem of my blouse, asking permission with his eyes. I nodded, biting my lip and stretching my arms to help him with the task of getting me naked.
Hyunjin unbuttoned my dark wash jeans, and pulled them off, throwing them on the living room floor. The man looked at me, seeing that I was wearing a burgundy lingerie set.
“You are beautiful.” He said.
I smiled.
“You too, Hyun.” I said, pulling him again so that he was on top of me.
The idol's mouth went straight towards my breasts, which were still covered by the bra. I let out a low moan, caressing the back of his neck.
Hyunjin continued moving down with his lips, placing kisses down my abdomen, and stopping at my panties. He sent me a smile. To my surprise, he came towards my lips again, kissing me.
I reciprocated, letting the rapper's tongue enter my mouth.
My nails made small welts on the man's pale back, who sighed at the sensation.
“I love you.” He confessed, between the kiss.
“I love you.” I said, feeling his hand go down my body, stopping at my panties. The feeling was wonderful, and he looked at me, as if asking if he could continue with the touches. If I think, I kissed him again, authorizing Hyunjin to do whatever he wanted with my body.

You were sitting on the kitchen stool, reading a fashion magazine while you waited for your husband to return from patrol.
Bruce forbade you to stay in the Batcave, as he was afraid that someone would break in and find you, alone and unprotected.
As soon as you felt the ground shake, it meant that the Batcave had opened and that Batman had arrived with his Robin, Red Robin, Red Hood and Nightwing.
You ran to the clock that gave access to the secret entrance to Batcave. The elevator quickly took you to where your children and husband were.
“Hey, my love. You got back before 5am!” You said, running up to Bruce Wayne. He still wore black clothes and was without a mask. Your husband didn’t respond. He was serious and had a worried expression on his face.
“A man dropped Damian from a three-story building .” Bruce said looking at the boy who was sitting next to Alfred.
You finally noticed Damian, whose face was bruised and his leg was bandaged. You walked over to the boy and knelt in front of him.
“I’m fine, Y/N. I fell on top of a car and didn’t break any bones.”
“Damian, darling, are you hurt?” You asked, looking into Bruce’s son’s green eyes.
You smiled, in a motherly way. Damian didn’t consider you a mother, unlike the other three boys who called you ‘mother’ and ‘mommy’ all the time. Your husband’s son only considered you as a stepmother, but that didn’t stop you from taking care of him as if he were your son.
“I’m going to run you a hot bubble bath. After Alfred takes care of you, I think you’ll want to relax in the warm water.”
“Thank you, Y/N, but I’m not your baby.” He said rolling his eyes and turning his face to look at Alfred.
“Damian!” Bruce warned his son. But you smiled at your husband, showing that everything was okay. You left the Batcave, heading back to the mansion to prepare Dami’s bath.
(…)
Damian was already in his room. You were heading to the boy's room, with a tray in your hand.
The clock said 2:32 am, but you were sure the boy hadn't slept yet. The Waynes used to sleep only when the sun came up.
Yout left hand knocked lightly on the wooden door with the boy's initials engraved on it. Ypur ears picked up a “you can come in”, authorizing you to enter Damian’s room.
“I came to see if you were okay, Dami.” You said, entering and closing the door behind your body. Your arms came off the tray on the bed, seeing that the boy was sitting on the mattress. “I brought milk and cookies, this will definitely make you feel better.”
“Why do you do these things, Y/N?” He asked, with a questioning look.
“I didn't understand. Don't you like what I do for you?”
“At first I thought you had a plan to win me over and then you would hate me for being Bruce's biological son.” He said, seeing you take a cookie and offer it to him.
“I would never do that. I love you, Dami, even if you don't like me. These things I do for you are normal motherly actions.”
“My mother didn’t do any of that. She only got cookies when she did something good.” He said, his eyes shining like he was going to cry.
“Oh baby. I know you don't consider me your mother and I don't want to force you into anything, but I want you to know that these things I do are because I love you.” You explained, smiling widely at him and drinking some milk. “Do you know what my mother did for me when I was hurt?”
“No.” He said, while devouring several cookies. “She also gave you cookies and milk?”
“Yes, and she also told me a bedtime story.” You argued, running your hand through the boy's hair. “I'll tell you a story.”
“I’m not four years old, Y/N” He murmured.
“Damian, you’re not old enough to hear a good story before bed.”
“OK. Just don't tell stories about princesses or ponies.”
“Clear. I'm going to tell the story of a boy called Dami. He was so brave and beautiful, he was a strong and fearless boy.” His lips formed a smile as he said the words. Damian's eyes were bright and sweet. “One day, he went to the forest to play with the birds and found a portal to a magical world.”
“Like Narnia?: He asked, completely interested in your story.
“Yes, but without the closet. The magical portal led to a kingdom full of witches, fairies, vampires and any magical creature you can imagine.”
“Even elves?” He questioned you again. Now Damian was lying in bed and you covered him with the blanket.
“Of course, elves can't be missed.” You said. Your heart filled with love and you almost cried when you saw the image of the boy who hated you six months ago totally interested in a bedtime story. “In that kingdom there was a crystal that served as oxygen for all beings there, but a terrible villain broke this crystal and stole its essence, leaving the world without magic.” Damian still had complete fun with your narration. “Then, the queen called Martha went and asked the brave Dami to hunt down the villain and recover the essence of the crystal.”
“And he did this?”
“Yes! Dami took a sword and shield and went out to the magical kingdom in search of the villain. He went to an ancient village in the kingdom called Gothym and met three knights named Grayson, Todd and Drake. They sent Dami to the mountains where he would find the villain.”
“And he found it?”
“He found it, but it was difficult. The villain was hiding in a ruined castle north of Gothym. Dami fought bravely with the villain and defeated him. Dami recovered the essentials of the crystal and in exchange, Queen Martha gave him a personal portal to return to the kingdom as often as he wanted. Dami was a brave hero and defeated the evil villain.” You told the story while running your hand affectionately through the boy's hair. “Did you like the story?”
“Yes, it was the best story anyone told me.”
“I'm glad you liked it, my love. If you want, I can tell you a story every night.”
“Todd would make fun of me if he knew.” He said, looking at you so intently that you knew he was embarrassed for having liked the story.
“I'm gonna tell you a secret. I told Dick, Jason and Tim stories for three years, but they didn't want to.”
“Did you tell Todd bedtime stories?” He asked loudly, as if it were some blasphemy.
“Of course, and he loved them all.”
“So I want to hear stories before bed.”
“I'll love telling you, along with a glass of milk and cookies. Good evening, Dami.” You said getting up from the bed. Your lips found the boy's forehead.
“Good night, mom.” He said, making you look surprised at him. “I can call you mom? Since Dick, Jason, and Tim call you Mom, I thought you might as well.”
“Of course, my dear. You can call me mother and I will call you my son.” Your arms wrapped around the body of the boy, your son. Love seemed to explode in your heart. “Good evening, my dear son.”
“Good nigh, mom.”
You gave Damian one last kiss on his forehead, before picking up the tray and taking it to the kitchen. After washing the dishes, you went to the master suite, the room shared between you and Bruce.
Your husband was lying on the king size bed, waiting for you. After showering and putting on your pajama, you laid down on the bed.
“Damian called me mom.” You said to Bruce, earning a smile from him.
“With bedtime stories, milk and cookies.”
“How did this happen?” He asked, setting aside the iPad he was using to hug you.
