It was finally the day of the prom and everyone was excited, well besides you. Like always, Crowley had piled all of the work onto you and the other responsible students of the school were too busy to help you out so the past couple of weeks have been planning for one, if not the biggest nights of the year.

This event was a bit strange though, with everyone on the island being invited and not just a school-only event. Even more on your plate! How fun for you. During the actual night, you were able to get some students to help you out with check in, food, etc...things that you didn't want to worry about.

Thankfully you had gone out and set up the whole night perfectly with just an hour to get ready before it actually started. The theme of "underneath the stars" might not have been the most original idea, being outside and all, but hey, it was a one student team.

"Do I have to go?" Grim muttered while you were searching for your outfit.

"Yes," you glanced at him before adjusting your hair and accessories. "There is no way that I have been working my ass off for the past few weeks for you not to come and admire the masterpiece that will be tonight."

"Okay fine, but just for the food!" He drooled a bit imagining the platter of tuna he knew you ordered just for him. "I get admiring your work but don't you need a date or something?"

"Well yeah, but I got to make sure that this night goes perfectly and that no problems arise. I might go crazier if I find out that something went wrong."

You finished getting ready and got a brush to start taming whatever was going on with Grim. Sitting on your bed, he crawled over and surprising was pretty calm about it, probably doing so out of pity at your current state.

A little ding went off from your phone, glancing over it and looking at the picture that your friends had sent you with their dates. Ace and Deuce were doing the iconic "prom-train" poses with their dates. Jack and Epel were trying to ruin the picture by making funny faces and Sebek was the one who took the picture.

There was a little heart pang felt when you looked at Ace and his date. They looked cute together! Can't blame him though, you were the one who encouraged him to ask someone out.

Ace: cute aren't we :3

Y/N: Very. How is everyone so far?

Deuce: pretty good! Jack and Epel are taking their pictures now so we are almost done.

Sebek: WE HOPE TO CATCH YOU THERE HUMAN!!! :D

Y/N: Mhm. See ya in a few! :) <3

You sighed and put your phone down finishing your business with Grim. Once done, you gently put him down and looked in the mirror inspecting your appearance. To be completely honest, you were feeling yourself, twirling around and gushing internally about how good you looked. Grim yelled out from downstairs and told you that it was time to go. How Responsible of him <3

The ghosts came out, scaring you a bit but they were quick to apologize and compliment you.

"You look amazing!"

"Oh they grow up so fast don't they!"

"Oh c'here real quick we have to take a photo before you go!"

You playfully rolled your eyes and posed for a picture. They quickly took photos of you and Grim and a few selfies before sending you out. Your pace had started to quicken, almost forgetting the walk from Ramshackle to the venue you had picked. It was truly beautiful, a nice area away from the main city of the island but not too far out from the school. The main venue was nice and roomy, with an elegant dance floor and lighting. Outside was nice and cool with many photo-ops and food lined up yards beyond yards.

Before you even knew it, you had arrived, and just on time. People had just started to come in and you walked up to the entrance, Azul and the Leech twins greeting you.

"Why hello perfect, you look quite stunning," Azul greeted and you smiled back reciprocating the compliment.

"You too look quite attractive yourself Ashengrotto-"

"What about me Shimpy!!!" Floyd had begun whining before clinging onto you.

You had smiled and hugged him. "You're very handsome Floyd, you too Jade!"

"Get off the perfect Floyd, I'm sure that they have a lot to attend to," Jade had explained.

You let go of Floyd and quietly thanked Jade before going in, looking for wherever Grim had snuck off to. Once you spotted him gnawing on the tuna you had placed, you grinned and went to walk around a bit more.

Thunk!

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry!!" You exclaimed looking up at a familiar green haired 1st year. "Sebek! You guys are here already?"

"Hello Human!! It is quite alright do not worry about bumping into me!! I actually just came here alone! I did not want to leave you alone here since I knew that the others would take quite some time to take photos!" He exclaimed. You couldn't help but smile at the nickname "human" that he had given you. Yeah it seemed a bit degrading in the beginning, but the more you hung out with him, the more it became a name of endearment.

"You are quite the gentleman! Could you help me move those boxes over there?"

Without a word he had put the boxes just where you had wanted them. If he were here while you were planning the prom, life would've been so much easier.

"Right here?"

"Yes, thank you Seb."

More people had started to come in and you could hear the music from the ballroom playing and how wonderful it was to hear. Sebek had noticed you humming and took your hand while walking over to the ballroom.

"Human! Will you have this dance with me?" Sebek smiled in a sort of dorkish way and you had grinned back.

"Of course Seb."

You had put you hands around his neck and he put his hands around your waist and together you two followed the rhythm of the music and danced harmoniously. It was nice. After the stress that you've been through the past few weeks, it was nice to relax and dance. Other couples had started to dance as well giving you a signal that the night was starting off well.

What more could you ask for right now? Here you were with your best friend without a care in the world-

"Y/N!!" You heard your name and whipped your head around to look at Azul.

You quickly apologized for the interruption but Sebek quickly brushed off and pushed you away, understanding you still had work to do for the night. A familiar group had started to come in and a certain red-head had been staring at you and Sebek for a bit while you two were dancing. Azul had grabbed your arm and quickly dragged you outside.

"Where do you have the extra wristbands? The line outside is getting longer and there isn't anymore at the front table."

"Oh geez, um, I think they're over here-" Despite trying to act calm, you were starting to panic but its okay! Is what you told yourself. You began to walk over the the storage closet, hoping there had been extras. You quickly looked through the room and grabbed a small boxed filled with the wrist bands. Sighing in relief you quickly retrieve them and hand them to Azul. He responds with a quick thank you before running out to give them out.

Your knees had almost begun to give out and the night had barely even started. Maybe you just needed something to eat. Walking out of the closet, you stepped outside with the hair and all the food, looking delicious as ever. You took a deep breathe before continuing to walk before a few of the hanging lights had gone out. Perfect.

You grumbled before going to the closet and grabbing a box of the extra light bulbs you had and started to replace the few dead ones.

"How's it going Y/N?"

You finished screwing in the last bulb before looking down at Ace, Deuce and his date.

"It's going great!" You were trying to keep your cool, if not in public you probably would've ended up balling your eyes out.

"Need any help there-?" Ace had asked, before you had started to walk away, making sure there were no other bulbs needed to be replaced. It sounded so backhanded, like Ace couldn't believe that like somehow you wouldn't be able to handle everything yourself.

Maybe you were just being dramatic and overwhelmed but either way, you would continue to brush him off throughout the night. Everytime he would try and spark some kind of conversation, you were dealing with something or were being called to deal with something. You were always saying,

"Enjoy the night!"

"I got this! Don't worry!"

"Go out and dance with your date!"

Totally ignoring the lack of a date that Ace appeared to have.

The night went more smooth than you had expected and next thing you knew it was almost the end of the night and time for you announce prom royalty. As you stepped up onto the stage, you looked out to the audience and noticed that everyone was together except for Ace. You two had locked eyes but he quickly broke it, stuffing his hands in his pockets and walking out.

You frowned. Why was he alone? Where was his date? Is he okay-?

Forgetting you were on stage, you quickly announced royalty, gave them their crown and walked down, heading out to find your best friend.

Prom night was almost over, and people were starting to leave. You were hoping that Ace hadn't left yet. As more people started to leave, it became harderto move around to try and find him. You ended up just standing there near the entrance greeting everyone a safe walk home. Many compliments were given to you during this moment about your job and your appearance.

Once the majority of the student body had left, you continued to walk around going outside if you could try and spot your red-headed friend. You approached a slumped figure, on the grass and leaning against the large tree overseeing the venue.

"Hey there stranger. You look quite handsome."

Smiling, you sat next to him admiring his suit. It was a deep red with black accents around the hems. Through the starlight and faint lighting from the venue, you could spot a faint blush on his cheeks.

"Hello to ya too stranger. Do you come here often?"

You hummed "Hm, no but I couldn't pass the chance to talk to someone so handsome."

He began to laugh and threw his head back. "The feeling is mutual," he grabbed your hand and kissed it lightly.

"You are a charmer that's for sure."

The night was quiet and relaxing, and with everyone now gone it really did feel like you two were the only people in the whole world. Not a care in the world anymore.

"You okay there? I saw you walk out," you questioned, "Didn't look too happy."

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be fine? Tonight has been amazing all thanks to you."

"What about your date? What happened?"

There was a pause. The environment filled with silence like if one of you spoke, something terrible would happen. It was tense and despite being outside, you felt like you were suffocating. It wasn't until Ace spoke until you could breathe again.

"It's stupid. If I say it out loud you're gonna make fun of me I know that for sure."

"Oh please, you've seen me at my worst there is so judgment here."

You looked at him and held his hands, the moonlight lighting both of your faces. And you were sincere, there would be no judgement for whatever he did. If he did something dumb to offend them, yes you would be a little ticked off but overall, no judgement.

"I lied. They weren't really a date. It was just one of Epels' friends that wanted to come. I wanted to ask someone out but they were just so busy, I couldn't find the time to talk to them."

You were a little shocked. He had wanted to ask someone out and hadn't told you? That bothered you a little since you two were best friends but then again, you had been busy planning the prom.

"Hello? Who did you want to ask? I could've totally help you out!"

"No, it's okay, I'm sure they don't even think of me that way. Honestly, I try and flirt with them but they just think I'm being friendly. But when Sebek does it-"

"Bek?"

"Yes!" He had suddenly raised his voice and you flinched a bit, not expecting such a tone coming from him. Ace stared at you before getting up towering above you.

"I tried to find the time to ask you. But you were always so busy and never had the time to even really say hi. A-And even today! When I kept trying to find a way to talk to you or get you to dance with me, it was like you were avoiding me. You had the time to talk to Zigvolt and dance with him so why not me! What's the difference between us? What makes him so much more worthy of your attention-"

You had flicked him hard in the forehead almost bursting out into tears.

"Y/N! What the hell was that for!" He had started rubbing the spot where you had flicked him.

"Y'know, you really are an idiot, but I won't hold it against you."

Ace had stared at you confused before you had took his hand and walked inside the venue. You had ended up leading him to the middle of the ballroom and quickly dimmed the lights and turned on a song going back to him. You had bowed and held you hand out to him.

"May I have this dance?"

Starting to take the lead, you had interlocked your hands together and started to dance.

"I'm sorry if I've been busy, but I would've made time for you if I had known you were going to ask me out."

You sent him a grin laughing at his confused expression

"What?" He tilted his head looking as if he were in his own world.

"I like you too dumbass."

"Oh okay. Thanks."

"Thanks?"

Ace had groaned and tried to hide his face, nervously laughing.

"So you don't like Sebek?"

"Love him as a little brother like figure but I can't see him as a romantic partner."

"Hm..."

Ace had lightly kissed the top of your head and you two continued to dance. The soft jazz was filling up the room with light blues and purples, and you had never felt more in place than you did now. Here you were dancing with your long time crush, alone, without a care in the world. Few other words were spoken throughout the night because what else was needed besides two awkward teens in love dancing while the night was young.

“And that’s a wrap,” Jamil exclaimed. “Good work today everyone. We weren’t able to finish every question but it’s fine. I hadn’t accounted for how popular we’ve gotten over the past few days.”  “Uptop Grim!” y/n smiled, putting their hands up and waiting for their feline friend to return the gesture. And without hesitation Grim puts his hands paws up against y/n’s. “Did you see how many questions I got? I’m becoming quite popular!” Grim jumps up on the table, almost knocking over his microphone. Y/n leaps and grabs the mic before it shatters on the ground. “This is the first step to world domination! I will soon be the most powerful and most popular sorcerer in the whole world! Nay! The whole universe!” Grim smiles looking down at his henchman and everyone in the studio staring at him. The studio broke out in laughter as y/n put the mic back where it was. “How about you think about passing that alchemy test before anything else. Okay bud?” Grim grumbles and jumps off the table. Ace peeks his head in the studio followed by Deuce. “Hey would you guys want to eat dinner with us? Everyone’s going to the cafeteria and Jamil is gonna make us some food! Celebration for our growth or whatever,” Ace pondered. Deuce, though not saying, anything pled along with Ace. “Absolutely yes! Food made by Jamil? Count me in!” Grim snickered.

 “I’m okay, a little tired,” y/n grumbled and massaged their temples. “You guys go along and have fun! I’ll be in my dorm if you need me. And don’t bring Grim home too late! We still have school tomorrow.” 

“Yes of course y/n don’t worry! Rest well okay? See ya later nerd!” Ace beamed and ran out trying to catch up to everyone else, Deuce and Grim following right behind. y/n slumped in their chair for a bit and pulled out their phone, checking any messages that they might’ve missed. After about a couple of minutes, they walk out of the studio, turning off all the lights and locking the door. The school was quiet besides the faint bickering in the cafeteria. Probably from Ace and Deuce. 

y/n walks down the halls, inching towards the exit while taking their time. The clack of their loafers echoing throughout the halls. They started humming a tune, one that was popular back in their world. y/n paused as soon as they got outside, examining their surroundings. Would they ever be able to go back to their world? Would they be able to come back to Twisted Wonderland? Who knows. “No need to get all sad y/n...” they muttered. “I’ll just take a walk to get my mind off it all.”

Straying off their normal path, y/n wandered, taking a much more long route to their dorm. It wasn’t too dark, the sun was still setting and the birds were still chirping. The kiss of the sun was warm and home-like, like a hug just to the face. 

It had only felt like twenty minutes since they’d left the school but the sun waving goodbye had said otherwise. The moon soon said hello and lit the woods with its light. “Shit,” y/n muttered. It was then that they realized they’d been out for almost two hours and they are now lost. “Damn it. Damn it. Damn it,” they repeated, trying to find a way either to the dorm or back to the school. They took a deep breath in and spun in a circle before opening their eyes randomly and started walking in that direction. What was going through their mind when they thought to just pick a random direction and just go with it? They’d surely get hurt someway or another. 

After walking in the same direction for about two minutes, they had bumped into a tree of some sort. Of course they did. “Ouch.” y/n fell back and landed on the not so soft dirt. Looking up, they saw a tall figure, looking down at them with piercing green eyes. y/n let out a little scream and leaped up from their original spot. 

“Are you lost?”

Introducing our Juniors!

Cater: An outgoing person who never fails to make you feel welcomed! Can be seen hanging out with Trey and Riddle, though it always seems as if he’s behind them at times, not walking next to them. Could there be a reason for that or is that just nick picking?

Trey: Quite popular amongst the underclassmen specifically because of the sweets he makes. His tarts are to die for! What could his secret to making them be?

Leona: Known for being lazy, Leona doesn’t appear to social events often. He’s not seen in the public very often and if he is, he always seems to be napping in the botanical gardens. 

Vil: A stunning actor and model, Vil always exceeds others expectations of him. Probably the IT guy of NRC and there's no doubt about his never-ending beauty! He’s the most beautiful in NRC! What more could he want?

Rook: The dedicated best friend of Vil. Rook has quite a strange accent, always seeming to slip in some French words here and there. Despite appearing very put together, Rook is a sucker for parties. He also has a hobby of hunting!

Idia: Heir to the STYX empire, Idia is quite popular in the gaming and tech world. Though he doesn’t exist his room very much, he is still, quite surprisingly, ontop of all of his assignments, from classwork to quests from his favorite games.

Lilia: The self-proclaimed father of many of the students of NRC. His kind and wise nature makes it easy for any student to come and ask for his help. But don’t be fool, although he maybe much older than everyone else, he acts very youthful and never turns down an invitation to go out

Malleus: Prince of Briar Valley, it’s no wonder why he is so popular, yet why won’t anyone create a conversation with him? Is he that unapproachable? Nevertheless, the very exclusive prince enjoys his time with his dorm mates. Though would it be too much to ask for more?

The Sophomores:

Introducing our Sophomores!

Riddle: The strict and intimidating housewarden of Hearslabyul, broken rules never slide pass him! He has a sweet tooth and despite his reputation, he really does care for his peers.

Ruggie: Quite the mischievous fella! Known as Leona’s “bell boy” though he also goes by many other nicknames. Pay him enough and he’ll give you some juicy details about some drama going around.

Jamil: He doesn’t hang out with many people, mainly hanging with Kalim and his basketball mates. Jamil really does hate parties, but being in relation to Kalim and NRC’s student council, he’ll always be there standing with a slight frown on his face

Kalim: The extrovert of extroverts! Loves hanging out with everyone at anytime which is why is constantly comes up with spontaneous parties. Quite popular amongst his schoolmates. Drags his dear childhood best friend everywhere. He knows Jamil doesn’t socialize much, so maybe if he’s there, Jamil can befriend someone?

Azul: Known for his stoic and hardworking personality, Azul is also quite popular amongst his classmates. Many say that if you pay the right price, he’ll grant you any wish! There are consequences if you don’t pay though and because of that most of the student body shivers a little when he walks by. Azul is accompanied by the Leech twins, and if looks could kill, you get it.

Jade: Known to be the more calm and approachable of the leech twins. His calm vibe makes every situation feel much relaxed. Though if you somehow piss him off, you won’t be able to see light again. Jade is strangely infatuated with many land plants, despite being an eel. Mushrooms are his favorite! Ask him to allow you to tag along on his mountain journeys and you’ll be his new favorite person.

Floyd: The energetic twin, his aura seems much more spiky than his brothers and because of that, he’s not the most approachable person. You’ll usually see him with Azul and Jade, though if he’s feeling a little bored, you’ll see him nagging Riddle or Ramshackle’s Perfect. His moodswings are unpredictable, but just give him a little time and he’ll go back to his cheery and clingy personality.

Silver: Not much is known about Silver, not because he isn’t social, no no! It’s simply because he naps frequently! You’ll usually see him sleeping under a tree, or doing a little bit of night training. Although he loves the young master, his father and Sebek, he can’t help but want something more out of his youth.

The Freshmen:

Introducing our lovely freshman! 

y/n: Outgoing yet sarcastic character! Isn't from Twisted Wonderland hence the many "out of this world" jokes they make! Talkative and helpful, no matter the situation.

Grim: Grim. "Bullies" his dear y/n but loves them dearly. Will do anything if offered a can of tuna or a couple of thaumarks.

 Ace: Blunt and straightforward, Ace doesn't think much about what he says. He's working on it don't worry though! Talkative and hangs out mostly with Deuce, y/n and Grim

Deuce: Says he's an honor student but we all know the truth. He's trying his best though band that's all that matters! Making his page look aesthetic though is quite the easy task!

Sebek: Quite the reputation for being loud! Though, he doesn’t care much about rumors. Not quite close with the freshmen, but enjoys their company. Dedicates his life to protect Malleus.

Jack: The jock of the freshman! He's outside quite often, usually doing a quick jog. Often hangs out with Epel, who he calls his workout buddy!

Epel: The beauty of the freshmen! Looks can be deceiving! Though he appears very polite and proper, one wrong word out of your mouth and you'll rip the politeness from him. Hangs out with Jack and tags along on his runs! Albeit, a couple meters behind

Ortho: Not much is known about the bot boy! He comes off as very friendly but not many people get to know him. He only talks to his big brother and the rest of the freshmen. Maybe he'll start socializing more!
