The students and the professors are so brave. They are protesting to stop a literal GENOCIDE to stop the killings of innocent civilians and are treated like this. I thought the US was like a free country, and there was freedom of speech? This is how they treat you when you speak against them.

And the electrified pool incident continues (ik electric eels are of fresh water and not the ocean, but I already drew it. So. I have no canonical explanation for that I did it for the joke)

Taking a second look I'm starting to think their outfits are too simple, but first and foremost I wanted to do something fun for the looks of their primary features. I took inspiration from Luca (probably one of my favorite movies ever so I couldn't help but reference it here too lol) for the eye catching merform designs! Considering they're canonically sea monsters anyway, I didn't want to just insert their og designs here, so in this au they're more like in between their og merforms and human forms, also with their color pallettes are more similar to what flotsam and jetsam looked like in the little mermaid movie imo I wanted them to essentially wear the same thing despite the contrasting personalities, and technically most of the time they're walking around the school they're simultaneously working for Azul, looking for students to make deals with happens in this universe too (fortunately for them and unfortunatelyfor others), so an outfit more inclined to formal would be ideal to cause a good impression on their business, or as good as they can make it anyway. Nobody can contain Floyd though, if he has to wear an uniform he is going to stylize it.

Keeping it short this time, I don't wanna keep it on my drafts to add more notes later and postpone this more than I already have 💀 if I remember more facts about the AU twins I'll share them later!

hcs explanations!:

Big hair has no explanation! But the paint does! He managed to convince Riddle for them to dye their hair together, being a way for them to look more alike and a mini revolution against Riddle's mother.

The heart hair clip would be because for me Ace likes hair clips, and this was also a gift from Riddle and they also match.

The lipstick and nails were Cater's ideas.

The little reddish piercing was a gift from JH (I like to call Ace's older brother that because of the joke about that Jack Hearts is his brother.)

additional: I don't know if it was visible but he has freckles, a gap between his teeth and heart shaped pupils.

RIDDLE

hcs explanations!:

like I said about the paint and the heart accessory, it matches w/ Ace.

The hair accessory was a gift from Floyd to Riddle.

He wears a slightly reddish lipstick, which was Cater's idea.

Due to the overblot he became half blind in one of his eyes, at first he hid it but with the support of the other students in the dorm (mainly Cater, Trey, Ace and Deuce), he stopped hiding it.

Additional: Heart-shaped pupils and freckles.

DEUCE

hcs explanations!:

His beta hair because I can't get over it being discarded. At the end of his hair there is a residue of the dye he used when he was part of that gang.

Scars from past fights. (also from the gang)

The spade earring was a gift from his mother.

the lipstick was Cater's idea.

CATER

Unfortunately, there aren't many explanations for Cater Σ(＞Д＜)... But his hair clip symbolizes the friendship between him and Trey. ( ´・∀・｀). And like the others, his pupil is diamond-shaped.

TREY

Like Cater, Trey doesn't have many explanations. But his pupils are shaped like shamrocks, and the earring was a gift from Riddle when they were younger.
