i saw ur post that u write for paige… maybe a teammate fic? i don’t really have a plot in mind but i trust that beautiful brain of yours 😁
Friendly Banter . PB
pairing: paige bueckers x reader
synopsis: you and paige may be teammates, but it’s hard to get anything done if you also happen to be dating
A/N: iiiiii kind of hate this :(
Tumblr media
“your defending could use a bit of work, baby” you heard a familiar voice from the sidelines “don’t you think?”
you held back a smile, kissing your teeth as you turned on your heels. there was no one else in the gym except you and paige, the two of you deciding to get some extra drills in before practice tomorrow morning. you had just been practicing some shots and different dribbling drills while paige sat back to stretch for a while. there wasn’t anyone to defend, rather paige just wanted an excuse to tease you.
“i think my defense is actually quite good i’ll have you know,” you scoffed, bouncing the ball slowly as she walked towards you “what exactly could use the work, hm?”
“well for starters,” she said, matter of factly, cocking her head to the side. she rubbed her hands together and shrugged in your direction “you’re not being physical enough”
that made you chuckle, throwing your head back lightly in amusement. you nodded your head and rolled your eyes, “oh really?”
“really, i’d never lie to you, babe”
“care to enlighten me then?” you asked, her tall figure now standing over yours “i mean, you’re kinda obligated to help your girlfriend out, right?”
“oh i’d be more than happy to” she snickered, licking her lips as she looked you up and down. she got lost in you for a moment, you could tell, her eyelashes fluttered against the smooth skin under her eye as she surveyed your every move.
“well then show me, smarty pants,” you shoved her chest slightly, feeling yourself growing flustered by her intimate glances. you’d never get tired of the way she looked at you “what do i need to do?”
she slid past you, hands gripping your waist to hold you in your place as she came up behind you. it was silent in the empty gymnasium apart from the sounds of paige’s shoes squeaking against the varnished floors as she assumed her position. you were now facing the same direction, your back to paige’s chest as she leaned against you.
“you gotta be more assertive, you know?” she all but enticed, talking seductively into your ear. she was so close to you that you could feel her warm breathe on your neck “don’t be afraid to push your opponent around a little bit”
“i’m gonna defend you while you try to drive it in,” she continued “and i’ll show you how it’s really done”
you snorted, blowing a nervous breathe from your nose. she always knew how to get you riled up. her hands were hovering over you as you thought of a strategy to get the ball past paige. you began dribbling the ball, backing into her slowly which caused you to collide with her. the curve of your backside fit comfortably against her pelvic bone. instantly, you could sense paige’s breathe hitch at the contact, making you smirk. knowing its effect, you backed up even more, pushing against her harder to push your way closer to the net. she defended you to the best of her ability as she tried to keep you away, but the way your hips moved against her made it difficult for her to focus. while she was caught off guard, you faked her out and sprinted around her to drive it up and into the net. you cheered for yourself as paige shook her head in defeat, rubbing her hand across her jaw in disbelief.
“that’s how it’s supposed to be done?” you laughed, scrunching your nose “and you say my defense needs work?”
“that’s not fair,” she said “you were distracting me and you know it”
“i was just playin’ the game, paige! you’re the one who can’t get her mind out of the gutter long enough to defend me!” you came up to her, hands finding their way up to her shoulders, giving them a gentle rub.
“can you blame me?” she furrowed her brows “i don’t know anyone can even play at all when you’re out there on the court”
“maybe that’s my method of defense” you beckoned, teasing her harmlessly. you nodded your head behind you, motioning to your ass “don’t have to do much if everyone’s looking elsewhere”
she looked at you offended, raising her eyebrows as she widened her eyes “oh it better not be, nobody should be looking at my girl like that except for me”
“whatever,” you smiled, protective paige was your favorite “you have nothing to worry about, baby, nobody’s looking at anybody”
“you better hope so” she said, leaning down to place a chaste kiss to your lips “or you’re gonna be in trouble”
the tone of her voice made your knees weak, this was her way of getting back at you for your little comment. you kissed her once more before she pulled away from you, starting to make her way back to where both of your belongs sat on the sidelines.
“oh how so?” you prodded, already knowing the answer. you followed her as you chased her down, watching as she packed up her things. she handed you your duffel bag and draped her own over her shoulder.
“i could tell you,” she began as you both started to make your way out of the gym, heading for your car. she placed a strong hand on the small of your back, fingers snaking under your shirt, tugging you into her side with force “but id much rather show you instead”

Adult Entertainment Werewolf BF Part 2
Tumblr media
A/N: I am so angry. Tumblr deleted the draft of my seventh Part of my Older human Alpha x Waitress series. I wanted to make this longer but now have to rewrite it...
However: I love writing this and will continue after doing the seventh part. It may be a lil fast here but...its okay (hopefully). I named him Orion and I hope you'll love him.
Also Part One you'll find here
Tumblr media
You tried not to look at your phone every five seconds. However, it was hard; you were so....excited about what he had promised you.
Suddenly, your phone beeped:
Orion: Hey there. Hope you had a nice day. I'm in my hotel room right now and have ordered some food.
You: Hi! My day was good. How about yours? I hope your dinner was tasty.
Orion: Yes, it was quite nice, actually. Have you been thinking about me? I bet you did.
You: Someone is confident about themselves. XD
Orion: Oh, come on, I'm a hottie, aren't I?
You: Maybe.
Orion: Wait until you see the content people pay for. You'll love it.
You: Let me be the judge of that!
Orion: Eager. Your account name, pretty please?
You: MorningSun23
Orion: How original... Okay, give me five minutes.
Orion: Okay, you should now be free to watch my paid content.
You: It actually worked. Thank you. Also, do you want to meet up tomorrow? I have the day off until next week.
Orion: Gladly, let's meet in the City and have breakfast together.
You: Sounds like a perfect idea.
Orion: See you tomorrow then. Enjoy your night.
As soon as you two stooped texting, you went onto the Internet to watch the content people normally paid for. Good thing was that you were in bed, so you didn't need to move much. You took out a vibrating toy from your nightstand, placed it on your clit and scrolled through all the content available.
And gods, was there a lot of it. This man was kinky and open minded. In one video he rutted his pillow until he came, in another he unboxed and tried out buttplugs, there were chastity cages, vibrating cockrings, self-bondage, roleplays where he played sometimes dom sometimes sub...Your new favourite was the one where he milked his cock with a maschine. His cock and his knot were impressive, big and perfectly curled...you whimpered at the sight.
Orion even did regular streams where his followers could control toys he had on or in himself with donations...there were even stream highlights...
It is safe to say you had a short but pleasurable night.
-The next day-
You were nervous. You stood up earlier, showered, and put on your favorite outfit. Your makeup was impeccable. Everything was good.
But your bus didn't come on time, and you were late. Half an hour too late, you arrived at the café, near tears. Orion, however, was in the best of spirits. "Hey there! Finally, I was getting lonely," he joked, and you sat down across from him.
"I am so sorry again," you apologized, but he smiled and answered, "No worries. Let's order; I am starving." You looked at the menu, and you both ordered a hearty breakfast.
He grinned at you. "Aaaand?" Orion asked, putting away the card. "What do you think? I know I may be annoying, but no one talks to me about what I do..." You gave him a soft smile. "Don't worry, your content is...so hot," you admitted. His openness made it easier for you to talk about it.
"Really? I am so glad you like it. What your favourite vid?" He asks and gives you such puppy eyes. You smiled:"I think the Video where you did the roleplay of chasing and breeding." His eyes widened and he grinned harder:"Always the quiet ones, you are kinky....I love that." You laughed and gave him a cheeky smile:"You have no Idea, Orion." You purred. You saw him visibly shiver. "Your boyfriend is so lucky."
"I don't have one," you reply as your food arrives. "Girlfriend, then?" You shake your head. "Hookup? Friend with benefits?" "No and nope," you answer. "I've been single since Alek." His eyebrows raise quickly. "Damn, he really broke your heart..." You nod. "He did....And how about you?"
Orion scoffed:"As if anyone would date a porn star. All three partners I had, broke up soon." You were astounded:"Really? Like I would have no Problem with that." Orion smiled sadly:"Yeah, they got jealous of either my followers or success." You frowned:"Why? You don't sleep with your followers....and a the success thing I understand even less...Like shouldn't they be happy?" His eyes found yours:" You're such a sweetheart."
You blushed and bit into your pancake instead of answering. Some caramel sauce ran down the corner of your mouth. Orion quickly leaned forward and wiped it off. You licked it off his thumb. His eyes met yours and he gave you a mischievous smile. "Does it taste good?" You decided to play along and ignore the heat that built between your legs. "Divine. So...thick with a hint of salty."
He groaned and shifted in his seat:"Dirty girl..." You both errupted in laughter. It took a moment for you to calm down. You continued to eat and talk. It was loveley, it was wholesome and so open. Orion insisted on paying for the breakfast, not taking any complaints from you. You two decided to take a stroll through the City and get a dress together for you.
"What's the wedding theme?" you asked as you looked through the dresses. "Something along the lines of casual, floral, and blue. I wanted to wear a black suit but wasn't allowed, so now I've opted for a light blue one. It looks a little like I want to sell you a vacuum cleaner." You giggled and answered, "I can't wait to see you in it, silly." You teased, and he actually blushed. Quickly, he hid it with a chuckle and asked why it was so warm in here.
You found a few dresses and tried them on, giving him a little show. It was lovely to shop with him; he was patient and helped you look for clothes. Right now, you had the third dress on. It was just over your knee, almost to your ankles, with little blue flowers on it. It was casual, with just the right amount of modesty and elegance.
"What do we think?" You asked as you stepped out of the changing room. "That you have a beautiful Butt." You turned arournd to him and scolded him:"Orion! Be serious you lewd little Wolf..." you played being mad and he laughed. "Okay okay...do a spin for me please." You did that for him and he came over to look at the fabric. "I love it on you, what do you say?" "Its the one." You answer and you go to change to buy the dress.
When you were dressed again, the two of you walked to the register. Just when you took your card out, he had his ready and paid for the dress. You looked at him and said, "Stop buying me stuff..." He chuckled. "Oh, let me spoil you a little. Also, I make enough money." You blushed and smiled at him.
After that, the two of you couldn't really separate since you enjoyed being together too much. "Do you want to come over to my place?" you asked, and he nodded, carrying your bag for you. "That would be cool. We could do a movie marathon," he suggested. You were absolutely up for that: "Hell yes!" You were so excited that you wanted to immediately take the bus home. He stopped you since he was there with his car. The two of you walked to his car, a dark, larger car, and drove home.
There he suddenly grinned:"Did you have a pleasurable night?" He asked and look down at you. Suddelny you were very aware that he was a werewolf. "Stop that..." You hoped he couldn't smell hownwer you were down there...
The next few hours, you sat on the couch and watched movies. You both laughed and commented, made fun of characters, and had a great time. As the hours passed, you two crept closer until you were cuddled up together. "Can I say something?" he whispered into your ear. You looked up. "Sure." He suddenly reached out for your cheek and brushed over it. "I...think I've got the fastest and hardest crush on you I've ever developed..." You blushed deeply:"I...feel similar...feels so easy to talk to you and you are so fun to be around." He blushed:"So...what we gonna do now? Do...do we want to try dating?" He asked. "You are so forward." You said and giggled. This was fast, spending a day together and thinking about dating. But who the fuck Set wuch rules? So you wanted to try it. More than everything not working out couldn't happen...
"Let's try it out," you said, and he smiled. Immediately, he leaned forward and kissed you softly. "There. Now you're my girlfriend." You giggled, and you two went back to cuddling. It felt like he needed this—someone holding him and spending time with him.

sleep it off | Ace x Reader
Fandom: One Piece
Pairing: Portgas D. Ace x GN! Reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Genre/Tags: Fluff, Light Angst, Slight NSFW at the start and end, Suggestive, Established Relationship, kinda crack/silly
Summary: Ace falls asleep in the middle of your first time having sex together.
A/n: I have had this idea for a while but, there were multiple factors I had to consider before I wrote it. So, fair warning, I have no clue how actual narcolepsy works. It would be best if you read this as a silly fic based on his gag. Secondly, I have never written sex or sex adjacent scenes so, really sorry if this is awkward ;-; Other than that, I hope you enjoy reading this !!
also available on ao3!

"You better fuck me hard, commander," you whispered into Ace's ear. His grip under your thighs tightened at the words and he lightly growled, holding you even closer against him. You tightened your arms around his neck when he started walking back to his room with you in his arms. "Fuck, Ace, that's…"
You trailed off, cheeks burning at how hot it was that Ace could pick you up like you weighed nothing. Like yes, you knew he had to be crazy strong considering he's the second division commander, but having him actually pick you up was enough to give you butterflies in the stomach. Even the wolf whistles and jeers behind you only fuelled to make you flush harder, the arousal pooling in your gut.
Ace slammed the door shut with his foot when you finally reached and up close, you could make out his pupils dilated with lust as he gently placed you on the bed. You crawled backwards to give him space and Ace immediately hovered over you on all fours, trapping you underneath him.
"You don't know how long I've waited to have you underneath me like this," he looked equally flushed. In fact, Ace's eyes seemed to have a quality to them that said that he couldn't quite believe he actually had you.
"Mm, I think I have an idea," you teased him, hand reaching up to card through the bottom most hair.
"You will be the death of me," he groaned and sat up, straddling your waist just so that his weight wasn't on you. "Don't you think it's unfair that I'm the only one who's half naked here?"
"You're always half naked, though?" You laughed even as you removed the form fitting top you had worn solely for the purpose of enticing Ace into having sex with you. "Not that I'm complaining. It's just my luck that I get blessed by the sight of your abs every day without having to do anything for it."
"Returning the favour every now and then seems like a fair deal," Ace's eyes were trained on your body intensely. It made you squirm and blush harder but you focused on throwing your shirt over to the chair a distance away. (You missed but that was a problem for later, right?) "God, you are beautiful."
Without waiting for a response (not that you had one other than to feel pleased at his words), Ace dived right at your neck, pressing open, wet kisses at the juncture of your neck and shoulders. Every part of him was so much warmer and hotter than you expected and it felt like his lips were leaving a trail of fire. You keened at the feeling, back arching as he marked the way down to your chest and over the nipples.
"Ace–" you exhaled shakily, fingers automatically tightening in his hair. He went lower and lower, down your stomach and then suddenly, you felt him drop on top of you. His weight trapped your legs, his face poking into your stomach. The sudden sensation startled you and you propped yourself up on your elbows to look at Ace. "Ace?"
To your surprise, he had fallen asleep. Of course, you were aware of Ace's sudden bouts of sleep and found them endearing at times, but right now, you could only stare at his calm, sleeping face for all of two seconds before you burst into giggles.
He really fell asleep in the middle of your first time. You smiled softly at him as you scrambled to pull him up and settled him beside you in his bed. Although someone else might have been upset, you were too in love with this fiery idiot to not find it cute and hilarious. You gently pressed a kiss on top of his forehead and leaned over to turn off the light after you put on your shirt.
Curling up next to Ace's warm body, you fell asleep.
When you woke up, the bed was empty. It was just you and the crumpled up sheets that you had thrown off yourself after Ace made you sweat all night with his insanely high body heat. You sleepily sat up and looked around but it looked like Ace had already left.
He was a division commander, so he was busy a lot of the time. You didn't think too much about it and trudged back to your room and freshened up with a nice bath. It was normal to even miss him at breakfasts sometimes so you didn't realise until half the day had passed that Ace was avoiding you.
Unbeknownst to you, Ace had woken up and remembered what happened last night. He was mortified and embarrassed and didn't know how to face you after that. He fell asleep in the middle of sex?!! How could he have fallen asleep in the middle of the one thing he had wanted to do so desperately for months now? And you had even gone all out yesterday, dressing to seduce him (not that you needed it, but it sure had helped speed things up) so for him to fall asleep like that… You must be so upset with him!
Ace just ran out and started on his work, avoiding everyone else as much as he could. The other commanders were giving him suggestive looks or asking him how it was and all Ace could stammer out were nervous lies. There was no way he could let anyone find out what had actually happened. They would never let him live it down.
Of course, he already knew that he couldn't hide it forever. After all, you were definitely upset with him and might even break-up with him and then everyone would know what had happened the night before. And then Ace would have to jump off the Moby Dick in mortification and also as an apology to you.
"You're not being very subtle," Marco's comment made Ace freeze. The two of them were currently going through some data compiled by the recent investigation team. Outside, the sun was starting to dip beneath the horizon. "Did something happen with (y/n)?"
"Uh, no, why would you think that?" Ace didn't think he was this bad at lying. Maybe he was just terrible when it came to things related to you. Even he knew that his nervous smile at Marco wasn't convincing anyone, not even himself.
"Avoiding your lover after you finally have sex with them, for one," Marco said pointedly without looking up, "is a sure sign that something's not right. What is it? Was it bad? Did you have a fight?"
"I kinda wish it was that," Ace admitted, giving up on the papers in front of him and also on trying to hide what happened. Marco could see through him a bit too much.
"That bad?" Marco finally looked up with a raised eyebrow. "I'm curious what could make you say that but, regardless of whether you want to tell me or not, I'd say you better figure it out soon. (Y/n) is looking really upset, you know."
"I…" Ace sighed and buried his face in his hands. You were the best thing to happen to him. He had liked you for so, so long and when you accepted his confession (that had been a complete disaster too, what with a bar set on fire, his bloody knuckles and the bloody tooth you had found in your hair), it had felt a lot like a dream. You liked him back too and said yes even though he fucked up the confession. But now he had gone and fucked up again. You deserved better than all this, right? "I need to fix this. But I don't know if I can, or how to even."
"You could start by apologising for whatever you did wrong," Marco suggested.
"How do you know it was my mistake?" Ace pouted. Marco just smiled in amusement as he looked back to his papers again.
"Doesn't take a genius to figure out it wasn't (y/n)," he answered. "An apology and your honest feelings would help. I don't know anyone who would accept and forgive you as easily and quickly as (y/n) does."
Ace sat there in silence for a few seconds, thinking over the words. You deserved better, yes, but all that meant was that he had to better himself. It's not like he would just give you up. After all that time he had spent on trying to get you to like him back, he sure as hell wasn't giving you up without fighting for it. He would beg on his knees if that's what you needed, but he would get you to stay.
"Um, Marco?" Your voice startled Ace and his head snapped towards the door where you were standing nervously. "Could I borrow Ace for a few minutes?"
"Of course," the first division commander flashed you an easy smile. "Just make sure he comes back. He still has quite a bit to finish."
"I'll do it," Ace grumbled as he got up. You had come to him. You had made the first move. A part of him was sure that you were going to suggest a break-up but he told himself that he was jumping to conclusions. You wouldn't do that… right? "Let's go to my room to talk?"
"I was going to suggest that," you smiled weakly at Ace. The two of you walked in awkward silence; it was so unnatural and Ace hated it. Your relationship stood on the basis of your friendship and the ease with which you treated each other.
Once inside the room, Ace closed the door behind him and gestured for you to sit on his bed. You did so and Ace settled down next to you. Silence rang in the room for a few more seconds.
"Did–"
"Are–"
The two of you abruptly cut-off.
"You go first," Ace said hurriedly. You worried your lower lip between your teeth before you spoke again.
"Did I do something wrong?" Your voice was small. Ace had never heard you speak in such an unsure manner. You were fidgeting, playing with your fingers nervously. "You've been avoiding me all day, Ace…"
"I'm…!" Ace reddened in embarrassment. Rubbing the back of his neck, he turned to face you properly before he spoke. "I'm the one who made a mistake. I have been avoiding you out of embarrassment but, you deserve better than that. You deserve a proper apology for last night–"
"Apology?" You were confused. "For last night?"
"Yeah, I," Ace was confused by your confusion. Weren't you upset with him?
"There's nothing you need to apologise for last night, though?" You tilted your head in question. "An apology for avoiding me today would make sense but… why are you apologising for yesterday?"
"Aren't… you upset?" Ace flushed, looking down at his own lap. "That I fell asleep in the middle of our… y'know."
There was silence for a few seconds before you burst out laughing. Ace looked up in surprise, finding you laughing through watery eyes.
"You thought I was upset about that?" You were giggling and Ace didn't really understand it but it didn't look like you were upset about it. "Here I was, worried that I did something wrong and that you didn't want me anymore and you were avoiding me because you thought I was upset you fell asleep?"
"So, you aren't upset?" Ace asked, bewildered at your reaction. You beamed at him and shook your head then folded up your legs to inch closer to him. You straddled him and sat yourself on his lap and Ace automatically wrapped his arms around you so that you wouldn't fall.
"Why would I be upset, silly?" You smiled at him, eyes soft and full of love. "I admit that it was shocking but it honestly just made me laugh. It was unexpected but it's nothing so bad that you need to hide from me, Portgas D. Ace. I knew what I was signing up for when we started dating. Honestly, I'm just glad you fall asleep in moments like these instead of on the battlefield."
"Hey!" Ace weakly protested but it died down the moment you cupped his cheeks in your palms and kissed the tip of his nose. You were smiling so happily at him and suddenly, all his embarrassment and mortification from before felt silly. "Does this mean I get a second chance to prove myself?"
"I wouldn't be against a redo of last night," you trailed a finger down his chest as you spoke, "but don't you have some work to finish, commander–oof!"
Ace didn't wait to hear you finish speaking before he toppled you onto your back, his frame hovering over yours just like last night. You didn't resist and pulled him in for a kiss. Only after a few minutes of making out did you look up at him slyly, flush and with spit-slicked cherry red lips.
"I guess it can wait for later, hm?"

WHY? | natasha romanoff
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: You said the wrong thing, and suffered the consequences.
WARNINGS: Angst.. 🥳
a/n - i wrote this at 2 am.. so.. sorry if it doesn’t make much sense and that it’s short lmfao ‼️
Tumblr media
A sour expression spread across her face as the words slipped out your mouth, you froze, why wasn’t she reacting?
“What?” She asked flatly, her tone of voice had changed. Her hands fell from your waist. You started to panic, your chest tightening.
“I love you.” You repeated weakly, you watched her visibly become tense as tears blurred your vision. She stuttered, but no words came out. She didn’t love you back. After everything you’d been through together, all the ups and downs, all the breathless nights and sunny afternoons, she felt nothing.
You stepped back, your hand coming up to your mouth to stop yourself from speaking, or puking, you weren’t sure. You scrambled backwards, quickly gathering your bag and keys before leaving her apartment faster than water cascading into a sink.
You expected to hear her voice behind you, calling you back, telling you she was just shocked and that she loved you too. And then she’d cradle you in her arms and you’d feel like an idiot for thinking she didn’t love you back. But you heard nothing, nothing but the tapping of your shoes against the hard floor in the hallway and your ragged breath.
Rain immediately started soaking your hair as you stammered out of the building, what had you done wrong, why did she not love you back? You had done everything to be perfect for her, bringing her coffee in the morning or taking care of her when she was sick, why?
Your soft sniffles mixed with the rain as you hauled for a cab under the pouring rain, god this felt like a movie. Except in the movies, she would come running out into the rain and kiss you. You looked around hoping that maybe, just maybe, this really was like the movies, but the redhead was nowhere to be seen.
A cab finally pulled over, and you slipped your soggy, weak body into the back seat. You felt like disappearing when you noticed the look the driver gave you in the rearview mirror. He looked so annoyed by your sadness, Natasha would’ve cared, she would’ve held you until you felt better. Was it all fake? Did she not actually care when she cradled your face and wiped your tears away, did it all mean nothing to her?
You stared at the rain trickling down the car window, it being far too fast for you to focus on a single drop. But luckily it wasn’t long till you were home, weakly trudging into your apartment. It felt so cold now that she wasn’t here, god, you just wanted to be in her arms.
Maybe if you hadn’t told her you loved her, you wouldn’t be in this situation. You would still be in her warm embrace, cuddling up on the couch. Because believing she loved you was much less painful than knowing she didn’t.
Maybe if you hadn’t been so stupid as to think could she could love you back, you wouldn’t be here right now. You slumped down onto your couch, not caring about your wet clothes.
Your sobs echoed the now eerily quiet, dark room. No longer filled with her contagious laughs or lustful moans, you’d give anything just to hear the sound of her soft breaths near your ear as she fell asleep on your shoulder.
Why didn’t she love you?
You went three weeks without hearing a word from her, not even a text. You expected at least an explanation, or a sorry, but you got nothing. Until you ran into her in a store, immediately recognising the hum of her voice as she spoke on the phone. You froze as you heard the voice get closer, until it was right next to you.
You felt her eyes on you, but you refused to turn to her. Your eyes dragged along the shelf, acting as if you were looking for something, when in reality you were trying your hardest not to cry.
You finally turned when you heard her call your name, your breath hitched as your eyes met hers and you felt as if you were going to puke again. She looked unfazed, like you running out of her apartment after telling her you loved her didn’t affect her at all.
“Hi.” She said hesitantly, you tried to stop the words from leaving your mouth, but they were out before you could take them back. “Why didn’t you go after me?” You asked, your voice was weak and slightly shaky, she winced.
“I.. i don’t know.” She answered, this felt so stupid, you’ve never wanted to disappear so badly. You watched as her eyes changed, as if she regretted it. You felt a tinge of hope, maybe she did love you, maybe she was just scared. But it was gone almost as fast as it came, and so was your hope.
“I do care about you.” She affirmed, your shoulders dropped slightly. You didn’t believe it, and you didn’t think Natasha did either. “Then why haven’t i heard from you for three weeks?” Your eyes were heavy, you were so tired of this. She shuffled uncomfortably, her fingers toying with her rings. You sighed, “Forget it.” You turned, hoping to hear her voice, but it wasn’t any different than it was three weeks ago, she watched you walk away, she let you walk away.
You left the store, no longer caring about the things you went in there for in the first place. You didn’t understand why she didn’t love you, you couldn’t wrap your head around it. Everything you had done together pointed to love, the way she would look at you, the way her fingers danced gently and innocently over your body as you drifted off to sleep, everything.
You just wanted to understand why, but by the looks of it, you never would.

How You Get the Girl
Supergirl. Lena Luthor x Reader!, Kara Danvers.
Word Count: 2500.
Notes: I really love this fic, and part 2 (my favorite ever written) is coming soon :)
"Hey, remember my friend Barry?" Kara asks as you settle onto her couch, balancing containers of takeout food. The late hour has granted Kara a break from her Supergirl duties, allowing for a rare moment of tranquility.
"Barry Allen?" You confirm, and she nods. "The one from another Earth?"
"Yeah." She hands you your food and takes a seat beside you, facing you. "Sometimes we meet just to talk, instead of dealing with end-of-the-multiverse situations."
"Nice. I didn't know that." You start eating, but Kara hesitates, an uncommon occurrence as she's typically the one speaking with her mouth full. "Have you seen him recently?"
"Yeah, and he told me something amusing." Kara tilts her head, uncertain. "He ended up in the wrong universe, thinking he was coming here. He was very confused because everything was oddly similar. You know, there was me, you, Alex, Lena, J'onn…"
"Isn't that normal for different universes?" You furrow your brows. "I might not know much about it, but Lena explained once that when a diversion event occurs, a new Earth is created, so—"
"Yeah, yeah." Kara interrupts, contemplating her words as you watch curiously. "The weird part was that you and Lena were..." She pauses, choosing her words carefully. "Together."
"Okay?" You return your attention to your food, losing interest. "We do spend a lot of time together."
"No, I mean, romantically together. Dating." Kara's revelation makes you snap your head up, heart racing. "More than that, actually. You guys were married! And had a kid!"
"A kid?" You laugh nervously. "Now that's absurd."
"Really? The kid part is absurd?" Kara sets aside her untouched food. "So you and Lena being married didn't strike you as absurd enough?"
You swallow hard, avoiding Kara's gaze as your cheeks flush. Is any of what Kara's saying absurd? Not entirely. Have you thought about you and Lena together before? Definitely. Have you secretly hoped for the day Lena will stop pining over Kara so you can do something about your love for her? Absolutely. Will you ever confess this to Kara? Not a chance.
"I mean," You take a deep breath, raising your head and trying to compose yourself. "Perhaps that's why the new Earth was created, right? A wild new scenario? Me and Lena."
Kara blinks, then chuckles. "I guess you're right." She finally picks up her food and begins eating. "I'm not sure if that's how a new Earth is created, but it's certainly wild enough."
Yeah. Wild enough.
Lena steps off the elevator, and you lift your head to admire her before she notices. Her hair is in perfect dark waves down her shoulders. She looks so tiny in her white sneakers, but you love them so dearly because you know how much more comfortable she's been ever since she stopped wearing those awful heels for work. Her lips, just a splash of red in them, as she's recently been dabbing with wearing less makeup than usual. You don't think she's ever looked this pretty.
The headquarters is unusually quiet; J'onn is in another room, Kara and Nia are at work, Alex is out with her girlfriend, and Winn is occupied in one of the computers. For now, it's just you and Lena, which means pining is almost allowed.
"Hey, Y/N." Lena approaches, carrying a gigantic book and sporting a playful grin. "I know you're gearing up to tease me about my book, so go ahead."
"Honestly, Lena. You think too little of me." She raises one eyebrow at you and you hold back your smile. You manage your best British accent. "Have you gone mad, Hermione? Are you a witch or not?"
"Ah. There it is—the Harry Potter quote I've been waiting for." Lena drops the book onto the table with a thud, and you glance at the cover. "Ironically, it's actually about magic." You offer her a smirk, earning an eye roll in return. "So, has Kara mentioned anything about her last encounter with The Flash?"
"Uh." Your mouth drops, why is Lena bringing this up? "She – She might've mentioned seeing him."
"Right. So apparently she told him about my theory on elseworlds and he doesn't agree with it." Lena opens her book, looking for a page. And you breathe out, relieved you won't need to have that fun conversation with someone else. "So, you know, obviously I have to prove him wrong."
"Obviously."
You stare at her lips, curving into a smile. So red and perfect. So close and yet so far away. She might be beside you, but the gap between you feels insurmountable.
"Oh, and he also said something about us being married!" She says and you choke on your own saliva and starts coughing violently. Lena's hand goes to your back and she soothes you, in a protective manner. "I mean, I know it's a little far-fetched, but that's an odd reaction."
"I just –" You try to breathe again, ignoring Lena's hands on your back and the way it makes your body shiver under her touch. "I wasn't expecting that. Sorry."
Lena chooses to ignore your awkwardness, which is very much appreciated, and you fall silent thinking about things you will not have, body parts you will not hold, and the reciprocated love that you won't feel. Thoughts etched in the inside of your mind, so addicted to the illusion of a love that never was and never will be.
"How –" You look back at her and she raises her head, previously nose buried in the book, and you swallow your nervousness. "How does a diversion event occur in order to create a new Earth? Is it something big and worldwide, or is it something small and insignificant?"
"Well, it is commonly thought to be big events. The small insignificant things that follow are usually in response to them."
"I see." You breathe deep one more time, mastering your best courage. "So, what would happen if I were to meet the other me or you from another universe? Would it be a paradox or something?"
"No. We're all different people." You bite the inside of your mouth thinking about it. Lena's voice brings you back from your trance. "Why the sudden interest?"
"Hm? Oh, I'm just trying to understand more." You smile getting up from your place. "Thanks for explaining it to me." She looks at you curiously and you over explain things with your arms, like a lunatic. "Things are slow today. I'm just gonna head home. If there's an emergency, just hit me up."
"Oh, sure." Lena has barely noticed you're gone, nose buried in the book once again. "Yeah, we'll let you know."
Is it madness? You pace the apartment floor, wrestling with your thoughts. Is it crazy to entertain the idea of venturing into another Earth just to witness a scenario where you and Lena are together? Is it reckless and irresponsible? Is it even fair?
But this love you feel for her has been eating you from the inside. You don't believe there's ever been a space quite as big as the one she wished into existence between your heart and hers. So how can you not? How can you not go on an excursion to find out how to summon this love into being?
"Hey!" Kara taps on your window and you turn around to look at her. "What's the emergency?"
"I need to go on a trip." You say. Packed bags at the edge of the couch, forced smile on your face. She flies in, landing close to it.
"Whe –"
"Can't tell you where. Just wanted to give you a heads-up so you won't worry."
Kara studies you, suspicion evident in her eyes. "Did something happen? Are you going on a mission?"
"No!" You rush to assure her, preventing any further questions. "No, no. Nothing happened, really. It's not a –" But it is a mission of sorts. "Not a real mission, maybe one just to answer a question that keeps me fast awake at night."
Kara squints her eyes looking at you, clearly finding your act extremely suspicious, and you curse yourself for your breath stuck in your lungs and the heart beating almost out of your body.
"Kara, you don't need to worry, I promise."
"Too late! Am worried!" She breathes out, sitting on your couch, right next to your bag. "What's going on? You've been acting weird these days. And DON'T –" She points at you accusingly, because she knows you were about to open your mouth and defend yourself. "say you're not, because I know you and you can't fool me, no matter how much you want to."
She's right. Kara knows you inside out. But there's one thing she's mistaken about: you've been successfully fooling her for months.
This pining over Lena, this ridiculous huge crush you've been nurturing for Lena Luthor has been going for far too long. You crave the way she smells and how she talks. You dream about green eyes and perfect arched eyebrows directed at you. You're consistently going out of your way just to see her. You jump on cases, and suggest team pairings. It's crazy the fact that no one noticed yet, because honestly? You don't think you're doing a far too good of a job when your mouth literally drops at the sight of her.
And yet, your best friends haven't figured it out. None of them. Not even the Kryptonian with super hearing and x-ray vision.
"You have nothing to worry about, really. But I can't tell you where I'm going, so you're just gonna have to trust me on this one." You try your best puppy eyes and sweet smile. "You do, right? You trust me?"
Kara's eyes soften immediately as she stands and comes closer to you, "Of course I do, Y/N. You're a strong, powerful woman and you can take care of yourself." She reaches for your arm and winks at you. "Plus, you have me on speed dial."
She means the watch.
You agree with your head and hug her goodbye.
You've never been to another Earth. Have heard enough about it, though, to not look completely lost and out of place. So you do your research, does Supergirl exist? Is Lena running some kind of business empire? Where do all the heroes meet up?
You're quick to find out, LuthorCorp is still very much a thing here, and it's run by yours truly, your so-called wife, Lena. So you make your way there first thing.
"Hi," You try, while talking to the receptionist. "I'm here to see Lena, I'm –"
"Mrs. Luthor!"
Startled, you glance behind, finding no one. "Where?" Then the realization dawns. "Oh. Oh! You mean me. Yeah, I never quite got used to it. Can I go up?"
"Of course, ma'am."
You step into the elevator, musing over how Lena's last name sounds rather fitting when associated with you. In fact, you might prefer it to your own.
"Mrs. Luthor," you overhear Lena's assistant on the phone as soon as she spots you. "Your wife is here."
You make a gesture to correct her, but she's already running to the door. "Mrs. Luthor, please." she nods at you.
"Oh, you don't have – it's ok. I can –" You finally smile back at her. "I'll take it from here, thanks."
As soon as the door closes behind you, Lena makes her way towards you.
Holy shit, she's a mirror image of your Lena. Not a single strand of hair out of place. She even wears the same style of heels your Lena used to, with a high ponytail and those perfect red lips curved into a smile.
"Darling, I didn't know you were dropping by." Before you can say anything, she's planting a kiss on you—a short, sweet peck that catches you off guard. It takes a few moments for you to close your eyes and reciprocate, only to find Lena pulling away. "Is everything all right?"
"I'm not your wife!" The words burst out before she can lean in again, the realization hitting you hard. It hurts to say, especially when all you want is to kiss Lena once more, even though she's not truly your Lena.
"What?" Lena's eyebrows knit together in confusion.
"I'm a different Y/N. From another Earth." You point to yourself, trying to convey the truth. She stares at you in disbelief, so you rack your brain for ways to convince her. "Call your wife, and you'll see."
Lena blinks, then reaches for her phone on her desk. After a brief conversation, she hangs up. "You're not my wife," she confirms, setting her phone down. "Sorry for the unexpected kiss. You look exactly like her. Well, you are her."
"It's okay. I can't say I hated it." You admit, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks at her amused smirk. Maybe you shouldn't have said that.
"Let me guess, your own world is in danger, and you need our help, or something equally insane?" Lena guesses with a sigh.
"My world is fine. But I do need your help with something insane."
Lena gestures toward the couch, and you follow suit. "Do tell, not-my-wife."
"How did we end up together in this universe? How did I win you over?" You're not even half seated yet and are blurting out questions.
"Win me over?" Lena chuckles at your choice of words. "Oh, darling. You fell in love with a Lena?"
"I'm afraid I did. Except mine is in love with Kara, so –"
"Oh, ok." This Lena shakes her head like that thought is insane. "Can't help you in that area. I was always in love with you – your version from here. In fact, you didn't win me over. I was the one who had to win you."
"Oh yeah, that was probably so hard. Flash those green eyes and a knowing smirk at me, and I'm already head over heels for you."
Lena nods in agreement, a smile playing on her lips. "To be honest, that was pretty much it."
Great, this entire excursion to another universe was useless. This Y/N finally got the girl, and you can't be helped.
"I'm sorry," Lena is quick to say. "I know I was of no help, but don't lose hope!"
"How do you know–"
"Please, Y/N. I am your wife." She reaches for your hand, smiling warmly. "If you fell in love with me here and in your universe, there's likely others where we end up together. I'm not saying you can visit them all—"
"I will visit them all!" You declare, rising from the couch, and you can practically feel Lena rolling her eyes. As you stand, she does too, and you share a goodbye hug. "Thanks for your help, not-my-wife! A pity kiss goodbye in case I never get the girl?"
She chuckles at your jest and plants a kiss on your cheek. "I'm certain you'll get her."
With renewed determination, you prepare for another journey to another Earth.

training with tf141
tw: dubcon-ish?, everyone is nasty but gaz
(nsfw under the cut!)
GHOST barks orders and expects you to follow and when you don't follow them fast enough he makes you -- kicking your feet further apart so your stance is more solid, breathing down your neck while his big gloved hands cover yours to adjust how you're holding the gun. he can hear the hitch of your breath, feel the tremble of your body when his body comes into contact with yours and you can't see the wolfish grin under his mask. you can't see all the downright filthy thoughts he has about the curve of your ass when you bend down.
but you'll know soon enough, after your training ends and you excuse yourself to go shower, he follows watching you take off your clothes showcasing his willpower not to jump you right there but that all vanishes as soon as he hears you groan after the water hits your sore muscles, manhandling you into a corner.
"spread y'r legs just like I taught ya. practice makes perfect, luv."
JOHNNY was waiting to get you on the mat for ages now. finally he can have his hands all over you without worrying about boundaries (not like he ever really does). you could swear he groped your ass few times when you were rolling around on the mat trying to get the upper-hand over the Scot who is thoroughly enjoying your struggles, who let's you push him over few times just to grab your thighs and roll his hips up into yours to see your eyes widen. after he's riled up enough he ends up pushing you down onto the mat from behind holding on your hands down, his other arm is wrapped around your throat not really putting any pressure on simply pushing you back into him where his hard-on is straining against your ass.
"ye put up a good fight, bonnie, lemme treat ye a bit, aye?"
PRICE can hold his own really well, wouldn't be alive for so long if he couldn't but his expertise has always been tactics so he drills the basics into you. sitting you down at a table to give you some possible scenarios and see how you deal with them, making you sweat when he stands behind you hands crossed over his barrel chest with his sleeves rolled up over his forearms. your heart almost jumps out of your chest when he leans over you, hand resting on the back of your neck the other on the table next to you to see your marks on the map and suddenly you can't think about anything else but the woodsy smell that washes over you. after he's satisfied with the lesson, he looks into your eyes with the irises blown out from the need building up in you and he let's out a soft almost mocking laugh before he pushes the map and other documents off the table to make space for you.
"good thing the walls are soundproof, innit? let it all out, that's a good girl."
GAZ is pretty much a tech whiz, he knows his way around and he is a really good teacher. he can explain even the most complicated issues with easy, making it actually make sense so you can feel the progress you're making by working with him. but when he scoots the chair closer to yours with the excuse of not seeing the code well and his thigh is touching his own and he throws you a charming smile your concentration vanishes. you can feel his stare on your face instead of your computer screen but when you turn your head you can never catch him looking but you can still feel the stare almost as a touch caressing all the way to your exposed collarbones. it gets worse when you absentmindedly chew on your pen and Gaz ends up resting his hand on your thigh high enough that your heart rate spikes.
"let's take a break? little distraction might be nice, no thinking involved."

party in the city where the heat is on
all night, on the beach till the break of dawn
“welcome to miami”
“bienvenidos a miami"

will smith’s infamous track fills your ears as you stroll in through the main gate of the track, fans clustered in thick waves. your name is called more times than you can count. posters, caps, shirts, you name it, wave about, begging to be signed.
the sun shines overhead, casting bright, fiery light all around. although it was only around eight in the morning, humidity clung to the air, creating a sticky, dewy sensation on your exposed skin. fluffy clouds drift along, carried by a breeze as it rolls through.
god, the weather was perfect.
hopefully it would be like this on race day.
“welcome to miamiiii,” alex bobs his head, singing along to the music, “are you excited? it is your home turf, after all.”
“if we were in phoenix, i think i would feel a little closer to home,” you suppress a giggle, “but yes, i am really fucking excited. everyone loves a race in their home country.”
“we’ll be in austin soon enough in october,,” alex shrugs, “when we’re in austin, i need you to show me how to ride a bull and teach me how to perfect that smooth texas drawl. i want to be like one of those little aunties who always say, ‘y’all come back now!’ like dolly parton! ”
“you’re ridiculous,” the giggles blossom into a full-on laugh, “you don’t just start speaking with a southern accent. that’s not how that works.”
“sure it is,” alex nods, “hey, your parents are coming out for the race, right?”
“yes sir! they will finally get to see their baby girl in action!”
“they didn’t come out for a single grand prix last year?” alex raises a brow.
“i wasn’t winning races last year,” you counter, “i told them not to worry about spending that money during my rookie year. not everyone’s parents are loaded, you know.”
which, was a true statement.
your parents had invested their time, hard-earned cash, weekends off, and a portion of their lives to get you here. you didn’t expect them to fly out for every single grand prix, make every event, or pay another dime towards your expenses.
unlike many of the drivers, you were not born into an extremely lavish lifestyle. your parents were modest people, who happened to have a child later in life. ever since you were born, they lived in the same house, drove the same vehicles, and got by adequately. since they both worked full-time, getting you into the racing world was no simple feat.
yet, they were determined to make your dreams become a reality. after years of careful coordination to the karting tracks, weekends devoted to races, and thousands upon thousands of dollars spent, you were offered a contract with williams racing. of course, you accepted that offer graciously.
now, you were steadily paying your parents back for their dedication. once you signed your contract and those zeroes hit your bank account, you went out to the nearest dealership, purchasing a suburu wrx. with the premium package, at that.
you would never forget your dad’s face the moment you pulled into the driveway, beaming as you placed the keys in his hand.
that was one of the only moments you had ever watched him cry, wrapping you up in a tight, loving embrace.
“you didn’t have to do this. being your father is a gift in itself.”
“but you deserve it. you’ve sacrificed so much so that i could be in this position.”
“and you deserve nothing but the best, baby girl. you are going to be one of the greatest drivers formula one has ever seen. you make us so proud. keep making us proud. keep defying those odds. keep making history, baby girl.”
keep making history, baby girl.
as you stroll into the paddock, greeting the engineers, pit crew, and other team members, you can’t shake that feeling brewing deep within.
it’s is a fiery desire, setting you ablaze with determination.
you were going to keep making history.
you were going to be the first american to win the miami grand prix.
you were going to be the first woman to win two consecutive grand prixes.
you were going to be the first woman to earn that title of world champion.
you were going to chase that high. by any means possible.
and nothing was going to stop you now.

“look at him,” lewis hamilton shakes his head, “he looks absolutely pitiful.”
“you think his little relationship is on the rocks?”
“quite the contrary mate,” lewis remarks, folding his arms across his chest, “i think it’s more like the poor man is depraved. obviously the euphoria has worn off. he’s come down from that high. the man is craving more. plain and simple. a hand can only do–”
“i don’t need the mental image of my team principal wanking off,” george russell scoffs, rubbing his temple, “fuck, that is disgusting, lewis.”
toto wolff stood a few meters away from the drivers, engaged in deep conversation with bono and members of the crew. now that lewis knew the truth, he couldn’t help but notice how much power that american girl held over the team principal. it was almost as if he were deep in a trance, under some sort of spell.
it was pitiful, really. just the sight of her was enough to send the team principal spiraling, intoxicated off her alluring aura. not like lewis could blame toto, though. there was no denying that the woman was extremely breathtaking.
with her stunning features, witty mouth, unapologetic personality, and angelic presence, she was practically miss america.
well, not practically.
she was miss america.
everyone adored her. lewis could barely go throughout his morning without hearing her name being mentioned. whether it was fans, journalists, social media, even members of the mercedes crew, she was the hot topic of formula one, taking the world by storm.
toto was a lucky man. an extremely lucky man.
if only she was into men her age.
“my apologies mate,” lewis nudges george with his elbow playfully, “did we have anything going on today? any obligations?”
george’s brow furrow, sunglasses perched on the bridge of his nose, “if we’re being honest, i can’t really remember. i think something to do with monster energy, maybe.”
“perfect,” lewis licks his lower lip, fishing his phone out of his pocket.
time to text that little assistant.
in all seriousness, he felt horrible for taking advantage of that young girl. she was only nineteen for fuck’s sakes, a fresh face to mercedes at the start of the 2024 season. that made her the perfect target to do his bidding.
well, it wasn’t really bidding.
more like investigative journalism.
at least, that’s what lewis told himself to feel a little less guilty for what he was about to do.
hey, do you by chance know toto’s schedule today?
seconds later, little text bubbles appear.
he was meeting with you guys this morning, then he has an interview with the press around two-thirty p.m. it’s nothing super serious, just a brief session entailing his thoughts for the weekend. at four, he has a zoom call with a few of the mercedes execs. after that, he told me he was going to be out for the remainder of the evening. why?
hmmm. how convenient.
i was just curious. thanks for letting me know! i appreciate you, natila.
of course, mr. hamilton! let me know if you need anything else! :)))
it was now or never. go time.
after the meeting with the mercedes executives, lewis hamilton was going to knock on toto wolff’s door. he was going to stroll into that office, settling into one of those plush leather chairs. and before toto had the opportunity to speak, lewis was going to confront him about that american girl.
how he was going to start that conversation, he had no idea. that would come to him in time as he went about his day, meeting with sponsors, flashing that lovely lewis smile, flirting with the reporters just a little. not too much so that it was obvious, but enough to make them blush a tad, giggling as they scrambled to stick to their script.
but for now, it was time to focus on the matters at hand.
across the track, a dutch driver strolls through the crowds, a jersey in one hand, phone in the other. glancing down at his screen, he curses under his breath at the throng of people. why were there so many people? where did they all come from?
pausing for a moment, he taps his screen, thumb gliding through his contacts.
“hey, where are you again?”
“we’re in the williams paddock!” her voice is an octave higher than usual, more than likely from anticipation, “we’ll see you soon!”
“sounds good,” max verstappen stifles a chuckle as he hears a voice on the other end, the words firm, demanding almost.
“honey, who are you talking to? who’s coming over here?”
“mom, please, just let me be on the phone for two seconds,” she exhales, “okay, i have to go. i’ll see you soon!”
the walk to the williams paddock was excruciating, as max had to bob and weave through the masses to avoid reporters, potential sponsors, and any individual who called his name. it’s not like he didn’t like the fame that came with his success, it’s just that he didn’t like the constant cameras in his face. the prying questions. the intrusive comments.
sometimes he wished he could just blend in, be like any other face in the crowd. yet, how could he when he was max verstappen?
yet, as he steps into the paddock, he makes out the williams driver, her parents hovering around her as she introduces them to various members of the crew. at the sight, max can’t help but feel the corners of his lips curl into a smile as he notices the sheer and utter pride plastered across their faces.
and they had every right to be proud of you.
you earned it.
“goedemorgen,” max clears his throat, raising his hand for a small wave, “i just came to stop by.”
the instant your mom realizes who is standing before her in the paddock, her eyes widen, lips parting, “oh my gosh – honey. look who it is!”
“good morning max,” your laughter rings like bells as you cross over to the dutch driver, “how are you?”
“pretty good,” he nods, sticking out his right hand, “hallo, i’m max.”
your dad shakes his hand, squeezing it firmly, “nice to meet ya, max. i’m tony. this is my wife, heather.”
“pleased to meet you,” max beams, turning to your mom, “i brought something for you today. your daughter mentioned that you were a big fan of mine. so, i brought this jersey for you. she let me know your shirt size, so it should fit perfectly. my signature is on there somewhere, but i just can’t quite remember where.”
graciously, heather accepts the jersey, her eyes glossy, shifting to you as she wipes a tear, “oh, honey, you planned this?”
“of course i did,” wrapping an arm around her shoulders, you pull her in for a hug, “i couldn’t bear the thought of you guys attending the race without meeting any of my friends. besides, you deserve an all-inclusive experience at your first grand prix.”
“besides,” max shoots you a wink, “i wanted to meet the woman who crafted such a talented driver.”
at max’s compliment, your mom’s face flushes, “oh please! i can barely make it on the freeway without having a nervous breakdown. i don’t know how she can drive these things. it amazes me how confident she is and–.”
“i could show you,” max offers, “i have some free time tomorrow. i’m sure we could all meet up somewhere and i could take you for a spin, show you the ropes. how does that sound?”
“oh max,” your mom waves a hand, “you do not–”
“but i want to. it’s no issue. no issue at all.”
“then it’s a plan,” you can’t help but grin as your moms’ eyes light up, “what time works for you, max? since it’s only thursday, we’ll have some time in the morning before the practice laps. or, we could go after. whatever works for you.”
“let’s go in the morning,” max suggests, checking his phone, “i think i can make a few calls. have someone bring in a car. we’ll take it out on the track.”
“is that allowed?” your mom arches a brow, “i just don’t want you two to get in any sort of trouble.
“oh mom,” you roll your eyes playfully, gesturing to max, “that is max verstappen. whatever max verstappen wants, max verstappen gets.”
“she’s not wrong.”
“okay fine,” your mom nods, and you feel a giggle forming at her overprotective nature.
“just don’t give me a heart attack out there, max. i have a very important race to watch on sunday.”
as your parents talk to max, alex making his way into the conversation, you feel the buzz of your phone in your pocket. carefully, you fish it out, ensuring to shield your screen from your mom’s wandering gaze.
this is unbearable. i need to see you tonight. are you going to have any free time? i vaguely recall you mentioning that your parents were going to be here. i will take no offense if you would like to spend time with them. i know you do not get to see them often.
i need to be inside you, schatzi. i can’t think straight right now because the only thing i can think about is fucking that perfect pussy of yours.
i miss my golden girl. more than anything.
˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖
“lewis? this is a pleasant surprise.”
“how’s it going mate?” lewis hamilton bears a quaint smile as he settles into a chair, face-to-face with the team principal, “things going well?”
“eh,” toto shrugs, his head bowed as he types away on his phone, “same old shit, you know.”
“things going well with the horseback rider?”
oh, so he wasn’t going to drop it. silently, toto curses the attentive nature of his british driver, “they’re fine.”
“so,” lewis leans back, folding his arms across his chest, “when were you going to fess up and admit that your little girlfriend doesn’t ride horses?”
“i don’t understand what you–”
lewis scoffs, clicking his tongue, “i know exactly who your little girlfriend is because she’s a few spaces ahead of me on the grid.”
shit.
the expression painting lewis’ features is brimmed with satisfaction, his gaze piercing right through the team principal as he shifts uneasily in his desk chair, running a hand through his hair.
toto was well aware that lewis had completely blindsided him, pinning him in a corner. it was quite literally perfect timing, as the team principal was merely minutes away from organizing his things, shutting down his computer, and heading out the door, well on his way to his golden girl.
well played, lewis. well played.
yet, he had to maintain his composure. he had to maintain that poker face as lewis cocks his head, prompting him to formulate some sort of witty retort.
“i’m not sure what you’re talking about.”
“bullshit,” lewis shakes his head, “you’re not a very good liar, toto. you of all people should know that i can read you like a bloody book. how long has this been going on?”
well, he had to fess up now. lewis would continue to call him out on his shit if he kept up with the lies. letting out a shaky breath, the team principal hangs his head in defeat, his heart thumping against his rib-cage, wiping his damp palms on his slacks.
no going back now. time to come clean.
“since she won in jeddah. but if we’re being technical, it started in bahrain.”
“wait,” lewis sticks his hands up, squeezing his eyes shut, “pause. this has been going on since the start of the season? for weeks you’ve been sneaking around, meeting up with her in secret or something? was she the one who came to brackley between melbourne and suzuka?”
with all of the questions pouring from lewis’ mouth, toto’s mind reeled, a swirling torrent of anxiety, fear, and disappointment. his cheeks burn with shame, tinged pink.
“yes, she was.”
tilting his head, lewis’ lips purse, “you like her?”
“well isn’t that blatantly fucking obvious,” propping his elbows on the desk, he massages his temples with his fingers, “how did you find out?”
“it wasn’t hard,” lewis shrugs, “i mean, i see the way you look at her.”
toto’s eyes narrow at lewis’ vague response, “how. did. you. find. out?”
“natila texted me about it,” lewis coughs, averting the team principal’s beady stare, “she may have heard a conversation or two.”
“regarding?” toto presses, satisfaction pumping in his veins as lewis starts to crack, shifting in the chair, “come on, lewis. you can’t just march in here and demand answers from me without sharing your sources. what did natila hear?”
“she heard the entire conversation you had with the drive to survive crew while we were in suzuka. they mentioned that they had footage of you walking over to her motorhome. that’s all natila heard. don’t fire the poor girl,” the words were rushed, breathy, “it was my fault. i asked her what she heard. i told her i would pay her if she told me what she knew.”
“well,” toto blinks, swallowing thickly, “did you end up paying her?”
“only like five thousand.”
“that’s quite a large sum over something you could have just asked me about personally,” clasping his hands together, toto raises a brow, “why didn’t you just come to me instead?”
“because you got so fucking defensive the first time i asked about it!”
lewis did have a point.
a good point, at that.
it was not like the team principal would have withheld information regarding his developing relationship with the williams driver. it was more like he feared what would ensue if he did share what had transpired. he trusted lewis, he really did. additionally, it wasn’t like this was just some average woman. his career, her future, and so much more were at stake. the benefits of keeping it all under wraps greatly outweighed the risk of discovery.
more importantly, he was protective of his golden girl.
she was his little escape from it all. a breath of fresh air after excruciatingly long nights in the paddock or disappointing days on the track. she was his sun, shining her vivid, warm, golden rays into his dreary and dull life.
sure, toto was a billionaire. but money was not everything.
nearly every day, toto’s mind wandered to their time spent together in brackley. the way she felt against his skin. the way her shy smile was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. the way her fingers felt intertwined with his. the way her lashes fluttered as she slept, lips parted ever so slightly. the way his hands roamed her curves, relishing the softness of her.
that memory alone was worth far more than the number of zeroes in his bank account.
“you’re falling in love, aren’t you?”
lewis’ voice is low, dangerously quiet. yet, there’s a curious glint in his eyes, the bitterness and anger no longer present. his body language is more relaxed, legs crossed, the driver fiddling with his thumbs.
“i –” toto stutters, scrambling to find the right words, “yes, i am.”
“does she know?”
“no,” he inhales sharply, “she doesn’t.”
“you want to tell her though, don’t you?”
“it would just feel rushed,” the team principal dismisses lewis’ inquiry, his voice hardening, “i have to be realistic here. no one falls in love that quickly. that’s just petulant.”
“well look at it this way,” lewis offers, “if you’ve had your eye on her for some time, then it’s really not that rushed. clearly, if you’re feeling those emotions so deeply, then it’s accumulated over time. i don’t want to pry, but how long have you been attracted to her?”
“you don’t want to know,” a chuckle rumbles in the team principal’s chest, “it’s embarrassing, really.”
“no, no, no,” lewis tuts, “tell me, toto. how long?”
“december 2022, when she signed her contract with williams. when i saw that photo of her, i knew i had to have her. last summer, in monaco, i may have slipped up and approached her at the afterparty. i flirted with her, but she dismissed me. so, i kept my distance. however, it was just growing harder and harder to stay away. it was impulsive, that night in bahrain. but i wanted to make a move before anyone else got to her.”
as toto finishes, he can’t help but notice lewis’ smirk, “holy shit, toto. you’ve been wrapped around her finger for quite some time then, yeah?”
“i wouldn’t say that–” toto begins, clicking his tongue, yet, he’s swiftly cut off as a new figure cracks open the door.
george russell leans against the doorframe, arms folded across his chest. his lips are pressed together, forming a tightly wound frown.
“way to include me in the gossip session, guys. what did i miss? clearly, quite a lot. if you don’t mind, i would like to join the conversation. toto, would you start from the top? even though i’ve already heard most of it, when were you going to bring it to my attention that you were fucking that bloody williams driver?”

I’m sure you could pt. 1
Masterlist
Pairings: Natasha romanoff x reader
Prompt: y/n follows Natasha to Norway. What happens when they go out? (Loosely based off of black widow events)
Warnings: fights, mentions of cuts and injuries, no smut but almost, mentions of death. No actual death though.
A/N: I’m working really hard on this one but it’s taking a bit out of me. I decided to create two parts to it. Because I’m basically going with the black widow movie. But including r. So have fun. Tell me if you think I should add something to part two!
Tumblr media
Y/n’s pov
“NATALIA ALIANOVNA ROMANOVA OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR RIGHT NOW!”
I am pounding on the door of the trailer and Natasha opens it with a gun in her hand and she quickly covers my mouth and pulls me inside.
“Shut the fuck up you’re gonna get me caught!”
I storm past her and say
“No you shut the fuck up! What were you thinking?!”
She sighs and says
“Detka please-”
“No! Don’t baby me! I am so pissed with you.”
“Please let me explain”
I huff and say
“Go on then. Explain to me why you left with no note not even a call! You could have been dead for all I know and I was just at home waiting for you!”
I start pacing back and forth in the little space there is.
“I know I’m not an avenger and I’m not all special like you are, but as your wife I deserve the decency to hear when you’re running away!”
“It wasn’t safe!”
I shake my head in frustration she keeps explaining
“It never is safe right nat?”
“They are after me. Everyone is after me right now. I felt horrible but I had to get rid of my everything because of it. I double crossed tony and the government.”
I let out a frustrated groan and she finally realizes how bad my breathing is. She knows it’s gonna be bad if I don’t calm down soon so she says
“Baby. I need you to breathe with me. In. And out. In. And out.”
I take a few more breaths and then I look back up at her
“I thought you were dead”
My eyes fill with tears and she says
“Oh dorogoy. Im so sorry.”
I start to sob and she wraps her arms around me and I grab onto her shirt as if she’s going to disappear if I let go. I start to rant into her chest.
“I thought I’d never see you again and you just were going to run off. You always do this Natalia I am always so scared. I wish you’d have come home and taken me with you.”
“You know it’s not that simple”
I nod my head and keep crying.
After a long while I finally am able to calm down and we get up and go to the bedroom to talk. Natasha starts with a question naturally
“How did you know where I was?”
I sigh and say
“This guy named mason broke into the compound somehow and told me after I almost shot him.”
She laughs and says
“He’s always been like that. Stupid”
I nod my head in agreement and Natasha asks another
“How did you get here? Do you think anybody followed you?”
I shake my head and say
“Mason made sure to get me here with nobody on my trail.”
I decide it’s my turn for a question
“Are you hurt anywhere?”
She shakes her head and says
“Clint threw me on the ground pretty hard but not bad. I think I got a few bruises but not much more”
I nod my head and say
“Let me see you”
She sighs knowing I need confirmation that she is not damaged too badly. I’ve always been like that.
So she stands up and takes off her shirt and does a slow 360 for me. Before she can turn back around I wrap my arms around her waist from behind and move her hair to the side so I can kiss her neck.
I trail my hands under her breasts and then move to the back and say
“Is this okay?”
She nods her head and whispers
“Yes”
I unhook her bra and let it slide down. I immediately start kneading her boobs softly making her let out some soft moans.
Her head rolls back and she turns around eventually to do the same for me. She kisses me softly and says
“Let me make you feel good”
I sigh and say
“Natty I don’t want to make you tired”
She chuckles and shakes her head
“You give me life baby. You could never make me tired.”
I raise my eyebrow and say
“I don’t know about that. I’m sure I could if I tried”
She smiles and kisses me tenderly
“I’m sure you could detka”
Before we actually get anywhere the generator goes out and everything turns off.
I groan and say
“Why now?”
She chuckles and says
“We don’t need lights”
I smile and say
“No. But I think we should figure it out before we fall asleep and then freeze.”
She sighs and says
“You’re right”
And as she is getting off of me I mumble
“As always”
Nat turns to me
“What was that?”
I look away innocently and say
“Nothing!”
She slaps my arm and throws on her bra and shirt again. We both go outside to investigate. Well. I investigate and she stands guard.
You can never be too safe.
Unfortunately the generator has run out of gas. So we need to go into town to fill up the little gas can we have.
We load up and go on our way. I smile at her from the passenger seat until we cross a bridge and a bomb goes off throwing us around.
I black out for a few minutes and once I am fully conscious again I look around and find nat next to me unharmed. But I look around for the perpetrator and see this person in a suit. It looks weird. But Natasha already is in action.
She unbuckles and falls making the car move. I finally realize that we’re hanging over the bridge. I shakily say
“Nat?”
She turns to me and says
“Get out and get as far away as possible through the backseat okay?”
“I’m not gonna leave you here with that maniac!”
“He’s here for me. Not you. Go!”
I know she’s telling the truth. It’d be no good if I’m hurt and she’d have to handle me too so I slip out the door and she starts shooting at him.
They start fighting and I see a brief case that looks like it has important vials in it. Honestly these things look like magic. So I grab them swiftly and sneak off.
I hide in some bushes and Natasha and the robot person fight more. From the looks of it they are copying her exact moves. Like they know exactly what she’s doing.
This is terrifying since she is never predictable.
Suddenly. They end up staring right at each other and as Natasha analyzes this things armor, it turns towards me. I know I’m hiding in a bush but I think it can see me.
She says
“You’re not here for me”
And she looks around for something. I widen my eyes and realize he’s here for the briefcase that I have in my hands.
Natasha knows it too so she runs at the armored person and they fight a bit more.
Natasha clearly knows what she’s doing so she yells
“Throw the case y/n!”
I don’t think and just listen to her so I throw it on the bridge and they fight to get to it. But Natasha gets there first.
They fight again and Natasha uses the persons shield that oddly looks like caps shield. But before she can win he kicks her off the bridge and I almost scream out but I remember they might come for me too so I stay silent as tears run down my face constantly.
They end up with the briefcase and I look and see that there is nothing in it. Clearly nat took it out before they kicked her off. But there’s no fucking point.
Once they leave and I see the way is clear I run down the side of the bank to the water. It’s a little steep and I slip making me fall a lot but I don’t even care. I don’t stop running.
I get to the water and start looking around.
Nobody’s pov
“My baby! No. No no no no. No no. You can’t be gone. Please Natasha nat please. I need you.”
Words start to roll out of y/n’s throat uncontrollably, but nobody can hear.
Y/n is on her knees at the river bank with cuts and scrapes all over them.
They look around and then start crawling to the water. Somehow their brain isn’t functioning properly and they just start looking for Natasha while repeating the same things over and over like a crazy person.
Until a gasp comes from the water and y/n looks up to see Natasha coming out on the other side.
She immediately scrambles up and says
“Nat?!”
They can’t hear her speak and they just lie down. Suddenly they pull some red glowing ball out of their jacket.
Y/n’s pov
That red shit is the stuff that was in Natasha’s briefcase! It’s her!
I almost yell her name when she gets up and starts looking around. I find my phone which somehow didn’t break in the crash or my fall and I turn the flashlight on and wave it at her.
I realize that if I yell at her it might alert that person again. I don’t want that.
She sees the light and knows it’s me. So I make my way over the hill and cross the burning bridge and climb back down much slower this time.
“Nat?”
“Y/n?”
We both sigh in relief when we recognize each other.
I run to nat and say
“Are you okay?!”
She nods her head still a bit winded from being under water
I tear up and say
“I swear to god if I ever find that person I’m gonna kill them.”
She shakes her head thinking and says
“You shouldn’t be here. You need to go home”
I look at her like she’s crazy and say
“And leave you for that thing?! No fuckjng way!”
I can tell she’s in black widow mode right now
“Y/n… you don’t know what we’re dealing with right now. I need you to go home. I need you to be safe”
I huff and say
“I’m not going anywhere.”
“Why won’t you listen to me!”
“Because! I am only safe with you. If you send me home nobody can protect me as well as you can. You are the only one that can help me sleep at night. You are my safety.”
She sighs and shakes her head knowing it’s a losing battle.
Suddenly I look down into her hands and in one, she is holding the red stuff, but in the other, is a little paper.
“What is that?”
She looks up at me and says
“What is what”
I look her in the eyes to be a bit confrontational and say
“What’s in your hand?”
She holds up the red vials and says
“Uh- I actually don’t know. But I’m going to figure it out”
“No no. Not that hand. That hand”
I point to the other hand.
“What? Oh- nothing.”
“Cut the act Natasha. Tell me what is in your hand.”
She hesitates but hands it to me
“Who are these kids?”
“Me. And…”
My eyes widen and I say
“Yelena…”
She nods her head and I say
“She got out?!”
Nat shrugs her shoulders and says
“We can talk about this in a bit. We need to get somewhere safe. Where they can’t get to us”
I nod my head and we walk back to the trailer making sure nobody is on our trail.
We sit down and Natasha and I take a second to look at each other and take each other in.
Only now does she realize the cut I got on my forehead because of my fall.
“I’m so sorry”
I shrug and say
“Not your fault. I went too fast down the hill looking for you and fell”
She laughs a bit at my clumsiness.
“I’m glad someone’s getting a kick out of this”
She tends to my wounds and I tend to hers as she tells me everything.
“If you’re coming with me you have to understand the dangers of this. We’re dealing with the red room here”
I nod my head and say
“I might not know much but I at least train with you for hand to hand. And I can shoot.”
She nods her head and says
“I don’t know if Yelena is truly out. She could have just been on a mission.”
“On a mission where?”
“Budapest”
I smile and say
“You’re one of the only people I know who say Budapest correctly.”
She nods her head and continues
“I’m hoping she’s still there. If not I don’t know what I’ll do. But mason brought these to me from my hideout there. So she might be laying low if she actually escaped.”
I nod my head and kiss the last wound I just cleaned up for her. Now I move on to brushing and re-braiding her hair.
“Who was that robot person?”
“I don’t know. But from the looks of it, they’re from the red room. So it’s probably not a guy. The red room utilizes women and their weaknesses. That person has been training to fight me since they were a girl.”
I nod my head and say
“Why don’t they look like any other widows?”
“I’m not sure”
I keep braiding my hair and just say what pops into my head.
“Do you think this girl is special to the red room? Like. Maybe she’s dreykovs daughter”
She shakes her head.
“Impossible. She died when I bombed the both of them. I didn’t mean to get her, but I had to get him and that was my only time slot.”
I nod my head in understanding and say
“Okay.”
She stands up when I finish the braid and says
“We’re going to Budapest. Grab your things.”
I look around and say
“I don’t have any things. For some reason I just left.”
She sighs and grabs some extra clothes for me.
Before we leave she grabs my hands and says
“Before we go, I can’t in good conscience let you come with me without telling you the dangers of this. We could very likely both die”
I nod my head and say
“I know. But there’s no one I’d rather die with than you. I’m not worried though. I know you’ll keep me safe.”
She smiles and kisses me and says.
“I could always kick your ass and make you stay here”
I smile and use her words from earlier.
“I’m sure you could baby”

Heyy happy 2k followers man! Well deserved 🎉🎉
Can I request Asmodeus with prompt number 7? Thank you and congratulations on 2k once again!
thank you! of course i can!
you guys obviously haven't seen the rest of the requests yet but this event is telling me you guys really love asmo. i did not anticipate him being the most requested, but i don't mind writing more for him outside of this event if that's what the people want :)
enjoy <3
prompt 7 w/ Asmo
"Mc? Where are you? It's almost time to go! You know the party doesn't start until we get there." Asmo yelled out, searching the halls of the HoL looking for you. He'd checked your room and didn't find you, so instead, he decided to check the bathroom. He'd told you you could get ready in his bathroom, but you'd insisted you wanted your outfit to be a surprise.
"Asmo. I'm in here!" He was surprised to hear your voice coming from Mammon's room. That disheartened him a little, but he entered nonetheless. Mammon was actually nowhere to be found, but you were seated at his vanity, all your things scattered around on the table.
"What're you doing in here, you cutie? You look fabulous." He gave you a side hug, scanning your face.
"Thank you! I thought really hard about how to match this necklace." You placed a hand on your neck, showing off the centerpiece of your outfit. "Mammon wanted to go shower, so I just offered we swap places since all I needed was a mirror to do my hair." You resumed what you were doing before he walked in.
Asmo studied your outfit, admiring the color coordination and the way you used what you had available, but he eventually just started admiring you. You were more focused on what you were doing, but he was enthralled with you. The way you squinted a little when you focused and the way you unconsciously furrowed your eyebrows was endearing to him. He enjoyed these moments of peace with you before going out. While he lovingly stared at you, he realized the odd familiarity your outfit brough him.
"Is that my shirt?" He had given you free access to his closet, but this would be the first time you'd actually taken him up on that offer.
"It is! It was the last piece to my perfect outfit. Hope you don't mind." You beamed at him. He couldn't have been more happy.
"Do I! Of course I don't. You look absolutely darling in that shirt. In fact, I'm tempted to let you keep it, because you wear it better," he squealed. He plopped down in your lap and set his head on your shoulder. You looped one arm around him as best as you could to hold him in place. He loved the way you looked when you laughed.
"No, you should keep it so I always have an excuse to slip into your room." You continued fixing your hair as the two of you chatted.
"You're always welcome in my room silly." He wouldn't lie, he wanted you in his room every chance he got so he got all the time he wanted with you for himself.
"That's true. Still, keep the shirt. I think it looks cuter on you. Nobody can wear anything better than you." The way you smiled at him made him feel like he was the only demon in the Devildom.
"You know the way right to my heart! As long as you promise to come borrow it frequently." He conceded to you. He always caved to your demands.
"Cross my heart and hope to die." He knew that that was a human saying. He still didn't full understand it, but he recognized the emotion infused within in it. The way you said the words was more than enough for him to know what you wanted to convey to him.
"Ah, I just adore you. We're late to that party by now, but that's fine. We're fashionably late, and besides, I'd skip any party to spend time with you." He began to play with the baby hairs at the back of your neck, sighing contently. He hoped you understood the meaning behind his words. He was far too scared to say the L word, afraid of scaring you off, but he always tried his best in his actions to help you understand his words unspoken.
As if you heard what he was thinking, you said, "I feel the same. If you wouldn't mind, do you think we could just sit like this for a little bit longer? I love us time." Asmo felt his heart catch in this throat at the mention of the very word he was petrified of using.
"Yes, but not too long. I don't want Mammon to ruin this moment. We can canoodle at the party too, you know." He remembered at some point that they were in Mammon's room, and that he could be back at any moment. He'd for sure break up the fun they were having.
"I have an idea, then. Hang on tight." The last thing he was expecting was for you to get a tighter grip on him and stand up with him in your arms. He playfully shrieked and used that excuse to huddle closer to you. He loved you, in a way he'd never knew he could love before. He just never anticipated it would be a human that made him feel the way he did. It didn't matter to him though. Perhaps someday he could muster up the courage to utter those three simple words to you.

WHAT YOU WON'T DO FOR LOVE (WYWDFL) — TWO
Tumblr media
YOU couldn't be having a worse halloween night. choose your fate with your fellow readers and see if it gets better!
chapter one
soulmate!wanderer x gn!reader
Yeah, let’s do it. At least the debt collectors won’t call anymore. That's only if you do actually die, though.
"I love you, mom," You muttered to yourself begrudgingly, the oppressive tons of the night and your earlier agitation whisked away in the wind by a sudden anxiety. You found yourself moving to the alleyway.
It was a narrow area, littered with debris from front to back. There were discarded newspaper, broken bottles, the occasional piece of unidentifiable trash and...syringes you were too apprehensive to even walk near. You walked through the cracked and uneven pavement to follow the sound of two people speaking from a distance.
You carefully made your way, and as you did, the voice you were hearing became clearer. It wasn’t a dying dog, or a man who was suffering the severe after effects of meth and paying for it. No…it sounded like just a regular guy who was panicking (which admittedly, pissed you off. this was clearly a waste of time). The muffled voices of the conversation were partnered by the irrefutable rustling of movement.
The alley’s walls loomed high above you, making long and distorted outlines in the shadows. They were mingling with the dim light. The steps you took were tentative, each one seeming louder with how quiet the night was.
There was a bend in the alley— the voices becoming clearer. You strained to hear them still, catching snippets of what they were saying that made your heart race even stronger
"You said…this would be easy," a voice hissed with a thicker sound to it, sharp and tense. It was a man's voice. “You said I’d gain a lot doing this.”
"Yeaaah," another voice replied, smoother and more evasive. “That was until I heard you were thinking of ratting me to the cops. Now I have no choice. Makes me look bad.” This voice carried an air of authority, as if its owner was accustomed to being in charge.
“Huh?” You sounded in brief confusion, pressing yourself against the gritty brick texture, trying to steady your breaths. The low glow of a flickering streetlight barely illuminated them as they spoke in the crevice carved out. You peeked expectantly.
“I would never! I swear, I swear.” The man spluttered out, groveling on the floor pathetically. The panic he felt was clearly highlighted by the street lights, his throat sounded completely dry. He wasn’t able to salivate from how high the stress he felt. “Finding out that guy was my soulmate…it clouded my judgement. I’m sorry!”
The silence that followed was long and arduous. The tension thick enough that it lingered around them until the other lips curled a little bit. “I’m kidding.” His smooth voice admitted.
“Wh…what?”
“Yeah. Just wanted to josh you. Happy Pride.” He snickered, shaking his own head in a personal amusement. His lips curved in a leer before he began to laugh softly, some huffs, some chuckles.
“Uh…yeah, thanks.” The other man tensed, looking uneasy as he forced himself to laugh along for the time that he was. You found this encounter really odd, amongst everything, but you couldn’t help but sit there and watch.
“Oh, but seriously,” The chuckles died down in an instant, as he straightened out. The atmosphere plummeted so hard that even you could feel how ominous it was. “You really only have one use to me as of now, and well… you don’t need to be alive for that.”
Without warning, he grabbed the hilt before it fell and plunged his knife deep into his chest. He reeled his arm back at such a high speed that the other couldn’t whine, cry out for help, or protest in time. The blade, a steely glint still remained despite it bloodied.
Your stomach dropped immediately, mouth opened wide. You’re listening to a man gargle blood, struggling to even keep himself alive right now. With each stab he did pierce into the man, you flinched harder every time as the sound reverberated. You were watching someone die, and couldn’t feel your legs.
It was like you couldn’t do anything to keep yourself from watching, either. If that guy was capable of killing a man, then he was capable of killing you too once he figured out that you were watching him like you were watching the fucking Garfield movie.
His eyes were still shielded by the cap he wore, but you knew that his hair was dark from the unruly way it stuck out in the back. He cocked his head to the side, a simple and effortless jolt of his arm twisted the blade in his hand. A last high pitched wheeze escaped his lips before he truly fell limp.
You finally realized the severity of the situation. This wasn’t no Garfield shit, and with that, you slapped a hand to your mouth once the fight or flight kicked in. Oh my god.
You cringed at the slight thump that came afterward, the sight of the man lying on the floor, the other man retching at the sight of the blood after a few seconds. He looked like he had done it multiple times, but even so, the gagging came around like whiplash.
It echoed through the empty streets, an ugly recoil as his gloved hands covered his mouth. He gingerly tried to pull the knife out of the man, simultaneously keeping his food content in his stomach.
Your heart was beating like drums in your ears; you knew you had to do something before he decided to put you on his hit-list next. Taking in deep, juttered breaths you glanced around the small alcove you were in.
Maybe if you hide here, he wouldn’t really notice anything—?
“Enjoy the show?” A piercing, stiff and chilling voice called out. “I know you’re there. Protip; if you don’t want to be heard, maybe don’t gasp on command when you see a little blood.”
You wanted to point him out on his hypocrisy, considering he was the one who almost blew out chunks over it, but you were too scared to even say anything back. Nor did you want to. Your best bet was making it seem like you left, but the longer time you waited, the nearer his footsteps got.
“Come out.”

this absolutely would not leave me alone, in reference to this post. @fushigurro thank u for supporting/enabling me. divider by cafekitsune. this is omegaverse, mentions of heat cycles/sex but nothing explicit. minors dni.
Tumblr media
it had been a few days since your synced heat with satoru had ended, and though it hadn't actually lasted longer than normal, it had felt like it, neither of you able to get the kind of relief you really needed. you'd given yourselves a day to sober up and recover, and then you'd had a much dreaded conversation.
you'd been everything to each other since you'd gotten together straight out of school. in all that time, you'd never needed anyone else for anything, even able to get each other through your heats with a little help from some toys. but this had been a brutal wake up call, a reminder that there were some things you'd never be able to do for each other, no matter how hard you tried.
it was unsettling to realize, though, and the following realization that you would have to find someone else to trust in your most vulnerable moments was downright scary. a new partner couldn't be just anyone, especially not if they were going to help both of you when you needed it. in fact, there was only one person either of you could imagine trusting with that.
and so you set up a coffee date.
"you feelin' okay, baby?" satoru's gentle voice pulled you from your mental spiral, and you offered him a weak smile.
"what makes you ask?" you set your drink down on the table, unable to stomach anything because of your anxiety.
"your leg has been bouncing nonstop since we sat down." he peered at you over the tops of his sunglasses, leaning in to rest his forehead against your temple. "it's all gonna be fine, you know that, right?"
"unless he hates us for asking this of him and decides he never wants to speak to us again." you weren't expecting the laugh your words drew from him, and you pinched his side harshly. "don't laugh at me! it's not impossible..."
you could practically feel him roll his eyes at you. "he's not gonna hate us," he soothes, the faintest hint of a purr rumbling beneath his words, easing some of the tension in your shoulders. "i doubt he'll say no, either. he's had a thing for you for years."
"he has not!" you turned and looked up at him, wide-eyed.
satoru cocked his head slightly, seeming genuinely surprised. "he has too! he told me once when we were drunk, before we all graduated and you and i got together. you didn't know?"
"of course i didn't know! he never said anything to me. i knew he was in love with you, though."
it was satoru's turn to look shocked. "you're lying to me."
"i am not! we all saw the way he looked at you. it was obvious."
your boyfriend seemed to pale at your words, as impossible as it was. "for how long?"
"from the very first day i met you guys. he still looks at you like that, y'know."
"who looks at satoru like what?"
suguru's voice startled both of you, and you looked up at him with burning faces. the alpha's brows pinched with concern as he sat across the table from the two of you. satoru pushed a black coffee towards him, but it went untouched as he spoke again.
"are you guys okay? you said you needed to ask me something important. is something wrong?"
you and satoru exchange a look, your omega offering you an encouraging nod.
"sort of," you sighed after a moment. "we, uh. well. our heats synced last week, and it sucked. like it was really bad."
suguru nodded, worry still painted across his features. "even with each other and..." he trailed off, glancing around as if remembering you were in a public place, and that it was probably not a great idea to talk openly about sex toys.
"yeah, even with that," you confirmed. "it was really, really miserable, and we really don't want to be caught off guard if our cycles ever sync like that again. which is why we asked you here."
now he really looked confused. "i don't think i understand."
"we need an alpha," satoru replied, his blunt nature a true blessing in that moment. "and you're the only one we trust to help us – to take care of us."
there was a beat of silence, then another. your heart began to pound, and you felt a bit sick all of a sudden. because this was it, wasn't it? your best friend outside of your partner was about to tell you both that you were disgusting simply for asking, and that he never wanted to hear from you ever again. he was—
"oh, uh... really?" there was no mistaking the flustered look on your friend's face, and that surprised you; he was usually so confident. "yeah, of course. i'm honored you trust me like that. anything you need, just let me know. i'll be there for you."
the relief that washed over you was so intense it nearly made you dizzy, and you were certain you would've collapsed if you weren't already sitting down. "you don't wanna take some time to think about it?"
he shook his head. "don't need to. if it means helping you guys, the answer's always going to be yes."
"whipped for us already, huh?" satoru teased, attempting to maintain his composure despite his face being the prettiest shade of pink.
the smile that tugged at suguru's lips was affectionate, his gaze warm as he took in the two of you across from him. "yeah," he agreed softly. "something like that."

Chapter 10- Barracuda Mike
Series masterlist
Warnings: small mention of vomit, mentions of alcohol, pretty much it. Not a whole lotta rafe
Tumblr media
“Jesus- why’d we even take her with us?” John B asked JJ as they watched you down yet another drink.
“That- that was my last one, okay?!” You defended, crushing the can and rolling your eyes.“And let’s face it, I’m smarter than you two idiots.” You pointed at them.
“You dropped out.” JJ retorted.
“Okay, I never said I was book smart. Street smart.” You shrugged. “You might know calculus but what use is that if you don’t know how to get out of a 2000 dollar debt with a drug dealer? Or how to tell which one of your friends is talking shit behind your back? I’m extremely smart.”
“Wh- you know what, nevermind.” John b mumbled to himself. “Can we please get back on topic?” He asked you, you nodding and sitting up now with a sigh.
⋆˚✿˖° 𐙚 ₊ ⊹ ♡
“You actually think he’s gonna get arrested?” Kiara asked Sarah.
“He can’t get arrested. Not now. If he’s locked up, he can’t help his dad. I have to fix this. Can you give me a ride to Toppers? Please?”
“You don’t think this plan could make things worse?”
“I don’t know. And I don’t know what’s gonna happen with me and John B, but what I do know is I can’t just sit by and watch him get arrested while his dad’s abducted. I have to try.”
⋆˚✿˖° 𐙚 ₊ ⊹ ♡
The next morning, JB rung the bell on the yard, you and jj stirring at the sound. You groaned, covering your face from the light that came through.
“Shit.” You mumbled, feeling a massive hangover. Your head pounded.
John B sighed, listening to nothing but the seagulls squawking.
“It’s something about the dudes face, you know? Like the whole no hard feelings, bro, you know what I’m saying?” John B spoke to you both, coming across on a skateboard.
“No hard feelings. It’s kinda hard not to have hard feelings about that.”
“He’s a dick, we all know this.” You mumbled to him. “Is there like some Tylenol or something? I’m dying here.”
“Yeah, in the medicine cabinet.” JB nodded over to it. You stood up, stumbling inside and to the bathroom. They watched you go inside, John b turning back to JJ.
“What’s her deal?” John B asked
JJ shrugged. “Hell if I know. She’s been a fucking wreck recently.” He paused.
“Well, I mean she’s taken care of Luke for like her whole life, now he’s gone. I’m sure that’s probably most of it.” John B shrugged.
“Nah, something seems off.” JJ mumbled. “Like she’s hiding something. She doesn’t drink like that unless she is.”
“Well, do you really think she can help us when she’s like that?” John B asked him.
“Yeah. I mean, you don’t have to like her but you gotta admit, she is one hell of a problem solver. And a fighter.” JJ paused.
“Like.. oh, oh, remember how she got you outta that detention?” Jj snapped his fingers. “And how she beat up those kids who pulled out their switchblade on you?”
John B laughed at the memory. “Dude, I had the biggest crush on her then.”
“Oh, we know. You would invite her over to the Chateau all red faced, stuttering and shit.” He laughed along.
Once the laughter died down, John B spoke up again. “Is she dead or something in there?”
“Nah, she’s probably puking her brains out right now.”
“Should we.. check?”
“Alright.” JJ stood up, opening the door and leaning in as he shouted into the Chateau.
“Are you dead?!”
“No I’m not fucking d-“ you shouted back, before being cut off with a groan and putting your face back by the toilet bowl.
“Yeah. Puking.” JJ spoke, going into the chateau, John B following.
“Well.. anyways, I was thinking… passports. We don’t have ‘em.” John B switched up the topic, both boys walking to the kitchen.
You got out of the bathroom.
“Therefore we can’t fly commercial. We need other ideas.”
“Fake passports?” You suggested. “I know a guy.”
“It’s a good idea but we don’t have the time for that.” John B told you, opening the fridge.
“Okay, well, don’t you got the money that you took from Portis?”
“I have that to my dad.”
“So then what about a boat?” JJ suggested. John B sniffed some milk, coughing and putting it back in the fridge, most definitely expired.
“If we get a boat, maybe we could get down there ‘cause the HMS… yeah. You know about the HMS.” JJ went into the fridge now, “Oh! Limbrey, Limbrey has a boat! What if we took that one?”
“Yeah, no. She took that back, and the HMS is not gonna make it down to the Port of Spain, so out on the boats.”
You sat on top of the counter, grabbing a glass and using the faucet.
“So..” you paused, taking a sip of water. “We don’t got any money, and we also don’t have a boat that can make it down to South America.”
“Great.”
“Actually, I might know a guy. I’m onto something…” JJ mumbled.
You furrowed your eyebrows hearing the sound of a truck pull up. You looked outside.
“Uh-oh.” John B spoke, you looking at him as you both crouched behind the cabinets.
“You don’t start with uh oh, dude. You’re so negative-“ JJ spoke, still standing. You grabbed his arm, yanking him down.
“Get down, shoupe is right out front!” You whisper yelled to him.
“All right, John B.” He said from outside, all of you crawling and whisper yelling at each other
“Yoo-hoo! Anybody home? John B!”
“Go under there! Under there, right now.” You told them both, pointing to a small table.
They managed to hide themselves by uncomfortably managing to fit under. You couldn’t fit.
You panicked, jj motioning for you to hurry.
“I can’t fit with you two fatasses under there!” You whispered, desperately trying to find anything else. Shoupe began to walk closer and you were running out of time.
You glanced outside, making sure you weren’t in view as you stood up and ran as quickly as possible to the nearest room, hiding yourself under the bed.
“I know you’re in there!” Shoupe spoke, now in front of the door.
He knocked on the door, looking inside through the window.
“If he sees you, it’s game over.”
“I know, okay, J?”
“Don’t get that.”
“I know you can hear me in there.” He banged. “You need to come out and talk to me. It’ll be a whole lot worse if you don’t.” He sighed, finally walking away from the door.
“Okey-doke, have it your way! You know where you can find me.” He called out, getting in his car and starting the engine.
“All right, let’s peel.” John B spoke, both of them grunting and getting up from the table.
“Shit, JJ?” You shouted, coming from outside the bedroom.
“You guys alright?” You asked them,
“Yeah.” They both said in unison.
“All right, I got a plan, all right? Think it might work.” JJ said. “It’s a little sketchy, might not like it. But I think it’ll work.”
“No, no, no, no, wait, wait, what plan?” John B stopped him.
“If I tell you now when the plan is half baked, you’ll get all negative.”
“Look, I’d settle for a quarter baked plan.”
JJ mumbled over him, using a mocking voice. “Come on!”
“Don’t you dare make that noise at me.” John B rolled his eyes, both of you following JJ anyways.
⋆˚✿˖° 𐙚 ₊ ⊹ ♡
“Hey.” Rafe spoke, a small smile on his face as Sofia woke up.
“So, is this place really all yours?” She asked him.
“More like lord of the manor shit.”
She laughed at him, as he stepped outside, looking at the mess the party had left.
He looked over, his mind being flooded with the memory of you storming over there yesterday. A part of him hoped it had ended differently and you would give in.
But he knew you weren’t like that, he knew you were stubborn when it came to these things.
What’s worse is that his suspicions about the pogues knowing he had melted the cross down was confirmed when you came over.
Rafe stormed over to where he knew his dad was, his mind also going to a conversation he had with Barry. “It’s you or your dad.”
“I’m taking care of business. I’m laying groundwork, I’m making connections, I’m trying to plant my flag here, okay? So you just need to go back to your island where it’s safe, and you need to stop jamming me up, okay?”
Ward stood up, sighing at his son.
“If you get caught here, it ruins everything.”
“I’d figured you’d know where to find me, of all people.” He chuckled. “I’m glad you did. I think it’s clear from what happened yesterday… I was right. You’re on a very bad path, Rafe.”
“Your opinion, not mine. Okay? I’m good.”
“You’re making the same mistakes again and again, the same ones I did, okay?”
“Right..”
“So I’m gonna help you, son. I decided to make some changes.”
“What are those..?” Rafe asked him.
“I’m taking control of the company away from you.”
Rafe paused. “What?”
“You’re not in charge anymore, Rafe.”
“What are you saying?”
“My attorneys found a more recent document that left control to Rose.”
Rafe exhaled, nodding. “Rose?”
“Yeah. You didn’t think I was gonna give up complete control, did you, Rafe? Not be able to tap the rudder a little bit? I’m very generous with my children.”
Rafes fists clenched, itching to punch his father at the moment. “Oh, are you?”
“But I’m not a complete fool.”
⋆˚✿˖° 𐙚 ₊ ⊹ ♡
“Oh, perfect, Rockfish.”
“Hey, I remember bashing a beer bottle over some dude here.” You reminisced, smile on your face.
“There’s a guy here, that’s always here, moves a lot of weight. My dad worked for him.”
“No, you don’t mean Barracuda Mike? That asshat?!” You exclaimed, jumping out the car with JJ.
“Come on, there’s gotta be a better option than this.” John B said, knowing Barracuda Mike.
“Oh, you know what? There is a better option, except there’s not. All right, dude? Seriously, we don’t have a whole lot of time and your dad needs help right now and this guy is gonna be the key to getting down to South America ASAP.”
“Let me do the talking, okay?”
You and John B exchanged looks, watching Jj walk up to him. You both followed him.
“Yo, Mike!” Mike turned around at Jjs voice. “Yo! You remember me, right? You know it, it’s on the tip of your tongue.. J-“
“Luke’s son!” He put the knife in the board. “And daughter.” He nodded to you.
“Uh, also go by JJ, but uhm, that’s y/n, and this is our good friend John B.”
“Routledge.”
“In the flesh. Yep.”
“Heard stories about you three, especially you.” He pointed at you. You gave him a small salute and smile.
“Sounds about right.” You shrugged.
“I mean, he’s a stone cold cop k… killer..”JJ paused, you looking over to your side to see a very tall and large man standing menacingly beside you.
“No, I’m not.”
“Mike, I’m gonna be honest about why we’re here, okay? Since my darling little brother can’t seem to speak, we are in a little bit of trouble, and we need to get down to South America, if that’s uh-“ you spoke, before he cut you off.
“I’m sorry, slick, but I done sold the travel agency.”
You laughed, looking down and back at him.
“I mean, we’re not looking for some free handout here, alright? Name- name a price, you got it.” You shrugged. “We just need to parley, in um, private, if that’s cool with you.”
John B looked over, before you and JJ could even more.
“Just stay here, just stay here.” JJ mumbled to him.
“No you’re not gonna do this.” He whispered, “you’re not gonna leave me he-“
JJ walked into the large man. “Excuse you! All right.” He walked out.
You followed, looking at the man and saying “sorry for him. He’s a bit slow.” And walking outside with them.
You and JJ walked onto the dock, with Mike.
“Look, I know you got planes comin’ in with bales of weed from South America, they need to be unloaded, right? That’s what my dad did for you, and I’ve done it quite a few times, I can do it for you, Mike,” you pointed to yourself and to him.
“He would come home and brag about how much he made one night, which was 10k right? That’s a shit ton of money, we’re willing to do it for free.” You told him.
He scoffed, “nothings free, kid.”
“I live by that one too, all right? So, I’ll be honest, all we want is just some space in the cargo hold when you make your next trip down there. That’s all I want.”
“You just want a ride.”
“Just want a ride in that cargo hold. And then in exchange you get three sets of free hands, and another 20k in your pocket, sounds like a win to me.” You laughed. “What do you say?”
“5:30.” He called out.
“5:30, tonight, yes sir! We’ll see you!” You told him, walking back to JB.
“Fuck, I’m back. Missed this shit.” You said with a smile, JJ and you doing a handshake you made up as kids as you walked.
“Yeah, you are.” He exclaimed.
“Nice to meet you guys!” You waved bye to them as JJ grabbed John B, you guys leaving to the Twinkie.
“So I convinced him to get us a ride, but we have to do something.”
“Okay, what do we gotta do?” John B asked.
“Just a lil’ something.” JJ shrugged.
“A little something?”
“Yeah..”
“Every time you say a little something it’s never a little something.”
“John B, it’s literally the easiest job in the world, bro.” JJ told him, stopping in his tracks.
John B groaned.
“We just unload it. You know what they do on planes? You know on delta and united when they take the bags off of the-“
“Yes- yes.”
“That’s what we’re doing, okay? Once we do that we punch our tickets, go on to South America, sipping on piña coladas.”
“Shit, that sounds good right about now.” You murmured.
“Except you, no more alcohol for you.” JJ pointed to you.
“Oh, cmon! That’s not fair, you’re not my dad.”
“Yeah, well, you’re driving.” He threw the keys at you, you groaned and got into the drivers seat.

Fanatic Intervention Part 16!!!
My friends! I have heard your cries! You are worried about Muriel and yearn to know what has become of them! Rest assured, they are in this installment.
Let's do this.
Beginning || Previous || Next
*****************************************
After a moment of commiserative silence, Sardis gets up to go to the bar for another round of drinks. He says sometimes magic just isn’t as good as a properly mixed drink, and leaves. You’ve barely had a sip of your fishbowl.
Jesus is a 13 year-old boy who is white and rich and lives in Los Angeles with his rich parents. The world is doomed.
Your brain is still simmering in the sauce of despair when Anathema suddenly leans in close, pushing glasses to the side as she does. She gets as close to the middle of the table as she can, and you look her up and down because you’re pretty sure the table is sticky (and you’re too scared of the answer to wonder why).
“Okay, listen,” she says urgently, “I need to tell you before Sardis gets back. I got a call from Newt. Muriel’s missing.”
Whatever you were expecting to hear, it wasn’t that. You feel like you’ve suddenly been dropped into ice water. Muriel’s….missing.
“Missing how exactly?” asks Crowley.
“Like missing missing,” Anathema says. How is it that something so vague can clarify her meaning so well? “They went to see a movie, and Muriel just disappeared. He hasn’t been able to find them anywhere.” You don’t have the words to speak yet, but the expression you turn towards Anathema seems to be enough for her. “Listen,” she says to you, “They had every reason to think that it would be okay. The Metatron was after us, remember? He wants us.” You turn your eyes back to the table, wishing that Anathema hadn’t moved your drink away. You could really use something to hold on to right now.
“Right,” Aziraphale begins in a take-charge kind of way, “Tell him that there’s a summoning circle on the floor in my bookshop--”
“-- He tried that already. He says he just got voicemail, and...uh...dial-up.” You’re not looking but you can feel Anathema’s expression without seeing it. Who in the universe still uses dial-up??
“Oh,” Aziraphale sounds deflated.
“Maybe they just popped out to the shop?” Crowley suggests. The question sounds ridiculous and even sarcastic, but what he means is maybe they’re okay and not actually in any trouble at all, and maybe they’ll come back safe and sound and everyone will have a good laugh about it later.
“I mean, it’s possible,” Anathema answers, apparently also understanding what Crowley meant, “But honestly, I don’t think it’s likely.”
“Well regardless,” says Aziraphale, “I highly doubt the Metatron would do anything to harm Muriel. Heaven doesn’t work that way, least of all him.”
“No,” agrees Crowley, “They usually outsource that sort of thing to Hell. Might be able to twist an arm and find out if they...ah...mmm…know anything.” You haven’t looked up yet, but you’re pretty sure Crowley noticed that you haven’t said anything halfway through that suggestion.
Muriel is missing. Your friend. Your wholesome, lovely friend, who came to earth dressed like a lighthouse and who you persuaded to adopt argyle. Your friend who spun around to music with you even though they don’t dance. Your friend who watched the first time you had to calm yourself down from a panic attack and gave you a button to help you with the next one. It’s still in your pocket, you remember. You pull it out and stare at it in your palm. A good large-but-not-too-large plain green button. A good thing to fiddle with whenever you’re anxious. Suddenly you feel tears around your eyes, and maybe it’s the alcohol, but you can’t exactly fight them back. The most you can do is keep yourself from sobbing with worry. Everyone else is still discussing what to do.
“Listen,” Anathema is saying, “I know it’s hard, but we can’t stop saving the world to go back and look for them. The Metatron could be using Muriel as bait for all we know, and we’d be playing right into his hands.”
“Well surely we can’t just leave poor Muriel either,” Aziraphale replies.
“No,” Anathema responds, “I suggested he call Adam. If anyone can help him, Adam can.”
“Do you think” You finally say, “that Muriel knows? That they know we’re coming to find them?”
“I don’t know,” Anathema sighs, “I like to think that they know us well enough to have hope. Wherever they are.”
“Perhaps we could send them a message,” Aziraphale suggests.
“Mmnn,” Crowley seems to agree, “We need to make sure it’s something the Metatron wouldn’t pick up on. Like a secret code or something.”
The three of them start to discuss what kind of message or code you could all send Muriel. Meanwhile, the only thing you find yourself able to do is fidget with the button. The debate has gotten the other three nowhere when a lightbulb goes off. The button.
In dramatic fashion that only Crowley could match, you slam the button on the table. Everyone stops their discussion to watch as you grab the miracle enabler out of your pocket and tear off the number 2 with your teeth. As you spit it to the side, you watch and notice that it stays gone. The miracle went through. Anathema blinks.
“Okay,” she starts, “First of all, I get that you’re upset and that’s perfectly reasonable. But this stuff is important so next time can we please forgo the dramatics and discuss with the group first?”
“Sorry,” You say, even though you’re not.
“What message did you send them?” Crowley asks. In response, you hold up the button.
“You see this? Muriel gave this to me before we left. To help me with my panic attacks. As...as comfort.”
“Okay...” Crowley says. You see Anathema and Aziraphale exchange a look.
“So I sent them an exact copy,” You finish.
“That’s rather clever,” Aziraphale sounds impressed.
“Yeah, not bad.” Anathema agrees. “But next time please tell us first.” You nod in agreement and take a sip of your drink just as Sardis returns with more for everyone else.
Hang tight Muriel, you think to yourself, or Muriel if they can somehow hear you, We’ll find you. We won’t leave you on your own.
********************
Muriel scrivened away at their desk. It was hard to come back to scrivening after having such a lovely time on Earth, but they had been told it was an emergency and that they would be able to come back later once everything had been sorted out. Muriel hadn’t realized that what they’d meant was paperwork. They looked around their office and sighed. Every square foot of it was covered with teetering towers of file folders, leaving no way to see anything else. Not that there was anything else to see ever, it was Heaven after all. They had so much to catch up on.
“How are you doing in here, Muriel?” came a voice from among the towers of folders. Muriel jumped in surprise.
“Oh! Ah, I’m doing alright Metatron,” they answered, “It’s a lot to get through, but I’m starting to make some headway I think!”
“That’s excellent!” The Metatron replied. He wound his way through the stacks until he could see Muriel’s face. He smiled kindly. “I really am so grateful that you were able to return and lend us your help. As you can see, things have gotten a little out of hand in your absence.”
“Yes,” Muriel said, “Of course, Metatron! I didn’t realize that I was leaving everyone with so much. Please pass along my apologies to them.” The Metatron nodded with a thoughtful hum.
“It is the nature of our work, Muriel,” he said, “That we do now know or understand our own importance or place in the workings of things while we are doing them. It is not for us to know, after all! But when someone strays from their role, when they leave for a time and their absence is felt, then we often find out just how vital we are. Not one of us is a ‘nobody,’ we are all incredibly important in the workings of God.”
Muriel nodded. “Yes, Metatron, of course!”
“Ah Muriel,” Metatron said fondly, “You are a most diligent and dedicated soul. Be well assured that the Almighty knows just how grateful we are for you and your continued contributions.”
“Oh! The Almighty?! Really?? Wow! Thank you Metatron!” Muriel sat in awe. They had always thought that they were nobody really. But this whole time they had been so important that even God knew! Muriel looked around at the endless towers of files with new inspiration and purpose. If God knew that they were valuable, then they must do their very best to live up to it! “Don’t worry, Metatron, I’ll get all this sorted out!”
Only…
“I have utmost faith in your abilities, my dear,” Metatron began, “And yet I do sense a small seed of doubt. Is it perhaps something I can help you with?”
Muriel nearly jumped again. Could he read minds? How had he known?
“It’s nothing really,” Muriel said sheepishly, “It’s only...I wish I could have said goodbye. Newt must have been so worried for me to just leave so suddenly. My friends might all be very worried about me.”
“Well why would they be worried?” The Metatron asked jovially, “You’ve come back home! You’re much safer and happier in Heaven than you could be anywhere on Earth.” He looked at Muriel’s unconvinced expression, and relented to a thoughtful smile. “Although I suppose we could send them a message for you. Let them know that you are perfectly alright, and have returned at our request to save us from all of this,” he waved his hands to gesture at the mountains of paperwork. Muriel brightened.
“Oh that would be wonderful! Very kind of you, really Metatron. Thank you ever so much.”
“My pleasure, my dear Muriel,” Metatron cooed, “I shall be back to check on you later, shall I?”
With that, he left and closed the door.
“Ah! Metatron!” Saraquel called to him, speeding over, “Your Grace,” she nodded her head in deference, “Is there anything you would like for the Scriveners to...well...scriven? All of our paperwork has been redirected elsewhere and now I have scores of angels with nothing to do.”
“There is always something to do, Saraquel,” the Metatron smiled kindly, “I have the utmost faith in your abilities to lead. As always.” And he left.
Back inside the office, Muriel was beginning to feel much less...enthused. Now that Metatron was gone, the fatigue of tedious work was returning. There was just so much to do. And to think they had left all the other scriveners with all of this. They felt terrible for that. This was…horrible. This was...just so overwhelming. Muriel took a selfish moment to drop their head into their arms. This felt endless. For a short time, Muriel focused on breathing, before a small clatter made them look up. There was a green button on their desk. Carefully, Muriel poked at it. It was definitely a material object. How strange! They picked it up and examined it for a moment before recognition hit them. Oh! They knew what this was! They had given a button just like this to their new friend! The one that God had sent to help save the world with Aziraphale and Mr. Crowley! A smile of relief spread across Muriel’s face, and despite themselves they hugged the button close like it was the most precious thing in all of Heaven. Thank God. The Metatron had sent them a message, and now they knew everything was alright. For a minute there, Muriel had been worried that he wouldn’t.

Sabine leaned against the wall, arms crossed, taking in the ambience of her surroundings. The sights and sounds of Capital City were still a soothing sound to her after all these years. Closing her eyes, she soaked in the sounds of children laughing, the banter and light teasing of a young couple nearby, the quiet murmur of officials, senators, and other heads of state from planets whose name she couldn't remember - all of them had come to attend the memorial.
Once upon a time, she would have avoided a crowd just like this. It would have rankled at her senses, even without being attuned to the Force.
But not anymore, however. She had come to the realization long ago that it wasn't the crowds she was avoiding - it was the vibrance contained within them, the sense of life that beat fiercely inside all the individuals encircling her now.
Life was not meant to be avoided. It was meant to be experienced. All of it: from the highest of joys, to the deepest of sorrows.
A tap on her shoulder broke the reverie. She turned to find her oldest daughter, Mira. She was dressed in Jedi robes of sea blue and midnight black, her favorite color pairing. The younger woman brushed a stray curl of dark blue hair from her forehead - a gift from her father - and gave her mother an amused look.
"Thinking deep thoughts?" Mira asked.
Sabine enveloped her in a fierce hug. "Not at all. Just feeling a little bored, waiting for you to show up."
Mira snorted. "I'm sure Dad would love to hear that."
Sabine released her from the hug and gave Mira a stern look. "Your father knew better than to keep me waiting. Anyway, where are your siblings?"
"They'll be here any moment. Traffic is intense, as you know. A lot of people are coming for . . . coming to see Dad."
Sabine caught the quick pause in her daughter's words but didn't say anything.
Pivoting away from the subject of her husband, Sabine asked, "I see you dressed up."
Mira blinked and glanced down at her robes. "These? Not really."
Sabine grinned. "Grabbed the first outfit that wasn't dirty?"
Her daughter flushed. "The Academy's been really busy lately. I haven't had time . . . anyway, I see you didn't dress up at all! What's with that?"
Sabine arched an eyebrow at her. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"You're not wearing your armor! These are your regular civilian clothes."
She shrugged. "I'm not on Mandalore, or doing any official Mand'alor business. I can dress however I want."
Mira waved a hand at the assembled crowd around them. "This is kind of important, Mom."
"I'm seeing your father," Sabine countered. "I don't think he'll mind. He actually liked this outfit, you know. Said it accentuated my figure."
Mira rolled her eyes. "Dad would say that if you were wearing a pile of rags."
She poked her daughter sharply in the chest, annoyed. "And he'd still be right."
"Duchess Wren?"
Sabine turned to find her old friend, Governor Jai Kell, coming towards her. He was dressed in somber tones of gray and green, the colors of his office.
Sabine shushed him. "I'm trying to be discreet here, Jai. No need to use my official title. Don't need the press gawking at the Mand'alor, hogging all the air."
Jai blinked at her, then eased into a familiar, easy-going smile. "Of course, Sabine. My mistake."
He turned to Mira and gave a bow. She returned it in kind. "You keep growing up on me, Mira," he teased. "You'll be taller than your mother soon."
"That was never a hard task to achieve, Governor Kell," the younger Wren replied smugly. "I mean, look at her."
Sabine narrowed her eyes at Mira. "I could sweep the feet out from under you in a heartbeat, kid. Then we'll see who's taller."
Jai chuckled, looking at each of them with an amused expression. "Hard to see who she takes after the most, Sabine."
Mira stuck out a tongue at her mother. Sabine glared at her for a moment, then let it go with a snort. "What brings you over here, Kai? Shouldn't you be rubbing shoulders with the important people?"
The Governor gave her a patient look. "You are one of those important people, Sabine. As a personal friend, and as a head of state."
"Oh. Right."
Mira grinned. "It's the old age, Governor. It's getting to her."
Sabine felt her eye twitch, but held in her annoyance. Something approximating a smile twitched on Jai's face, but his face remained serious as he said, "He's ready for you now."
Mira went silent beside her. Sabine glanced at her daughter, but the younger Wren's face had smoothed into an expressionless mask.
Sabine smoothed down the front of her outfit in a nervous gesture. "How do I look?"
Jai gave her a puzzled expression. "That's what you're wearing? You're not going to get changed?"
Rolling her eyes, Sabine muttered, "Everyone's a critic."
The turbolift ride up to the viewing area was quiet, Sabine noted. Whatever vestiges of humor Mira had shown up with had evaporated quickly.
They reached the top level and stepped out of the turbolift doors. Jai waited silently, standing off to the side, giving the two of them privacy.
Lothal's Wall of Heroes. Sabine's eyes traced the familiar lines and colors, remembering the long days and nights of work that had gone into crafting them. The figures on the mural gazed back at her solemnly, their faces filled with a thousand memories from a time long, long ago. To this day, she still made the yearly trek out here, incognito, to oversee maintenance on the mural. She wanted to ensure that the work never faded from the public eye.
She found the center most face; handsome, strong, with serious blue eyes that, if you looked at from the right angle when the sun was at the perfect height in the sky, seemed to sparkle with a sense of humor.
Sabine stood in front of the image of her late husband, Ezra Bridger.
"Hey, goober," she said. "Long time, no see."
Sabine mentally ran down the list of things she wanted to say.
"Kids are doing fine. Mira's helping out at the new Academy, along with Jonah and Rona. This new girl, Rey, has some interesting ideas for the New Jedi Order. I think you would have really liked her."
"Jacen's doing great. Brand new Jedi Knight. He looks so much like Kanan now, it's crazy. He's out and about, still flying the Ghost, doing solo missions with some of the older Jedi padawans for training. You'd be so proud of him."
"Mandalore's boring now, since no one's trying to kill each other anymore. I guess that's a good thing. I almost miss the old days of how it used to be. Bo would kick me if she heard that though, so that stays between us, cyar'ika."
Sabine blinked away tears. Even after all this time . . . Ezra was one of the few people who could make her cry. He had promised to do his best not to.
You broke your promise, goober, Sabine thought. I forgive you, always, but it still hurts.
There was no body. Nothing to recover. The fire had seen to that. The enemy had come in the dead of night, in an attempt to snuff out the growing light of Luke's new Jedi Order. They almost succeeded - if it were not for the actions of Ezra.
The call had gone out. He had answered, as always. Stood and made his stand against a never-ending army of troopers, until the final evacuation ship had fled to safety.
Sabine closed her eyes, remembering the terrible memories of that night. Ezra's last words to her . . .
She felt her daughter come stand beside her. Opening her eyes, she turned to find tears streaming down the younger Wren's cheeks.
"I don't know how you do it," Mira confessed.
"Do what?"
Mira sniffed. "Not hate the people who did this."
Sabine gently grabbed Mira by the shoulders and turned her so that they were facing each other. She looked into her daughter's eyes: one bright blue and one warm hazel.
"It's not what your father would have wanted," Sabine said gently.
"He would have wanted to stay alive," Mira countered. "He would have wanted to be with us!"
Sabine tightened her grip. "It's not easy, I know. I have my moments. I know what it feels like to let the anger and despair get to you."
Mira looked down at her feet, taking a deep breath. "I know you do. I'm sorry. I just . . . I miss him, so much."
"Hating the people who did this won't bring him back."
"I know."
She hugged her daughter. "I miss him, too," she whispered. "Every day."
"When does it stop? The grief? When does it begin to heal?" Mira asked, voice trembling.
"I'll let you know," Sabine replied. "But, for me, it gets easier when I see you and your siblings. I see your father in all of you."
"Sometimes . . . sometimes, I reach out to the Force and - and look for him. Ask for him. I try so hard, Mom. I never hear anything."
Oh, my little girl, Sabine thought. Her heart was shattering, hearing her oldest in so much pain.
"I try some nights, and he never answers back, and it hits me again that he's really gone. Dad's never coming back."
Sabine said quietly, "No one's ever really gone, Mira. Your father's still around, I promise. You're just looking for him in all the wrong places."
"Where is he, then?"
Gently, Sabine led her daughter to the balcony and swept an arm towards the Lothal skyline.
"Listen to the wind and the life of the people below. Listen the scurrying of the loth-cats, and the howling of loth-wolves in the twilight. That's your father, Mira. He's there, if you listen."
Mira cocked her head, listening to the sounds of Lothal. "What's he saying now?"
"He's saying you need to be more respectful towards your mother and to stop making fun of her height," Sabine replied.
That elicited a laugh from the younger Wren. Sabine's heart lifted at the sound. "Okay, sure. Whatever you say, Mom."
Sabine frowned. "What's so funny? You should listen to your father."
"Uh-huh. Of course." Mira looked at her then, and said quietly, "Thanks."
Jai came up behind him. "Sabine, it's time. The guests are waiting below."
She sighed. "Time to go make an appearance, I guess."
"You're really not going to get changed?" asked Mira.
Sabine poked her daughter in the cheek. "What did your father just say?"
"Right. Sorry, Dad."
Heading to the turbolift together, Mira asked, "You never really answered my question, though."
"About the hate?"
"You said that Dad wouldn't want that. What did he say that convinced you to . . ." Mira trailed off, unable to find the words.
"To be better?" Sabine suggested. Her daughter nodded.
Smiling, Sabine reached into her jacket pocket and took out a neatly folded note. She gestured for Mira to take it.
Unfolding it carefully, Mira read the words scribbled there. Her eyes widened with recognition at the handwriting.
Dear Sabine,
Love always
- Ezra
Mira looked up at her mother, eyes wet. Sabine smiled back.
"Love always," Sabine said. "It's a choice, Mira. Never an easy one. But your father did it every day, for all his life."
"He loved you so much," Mira said in awe.
"And you as well, kid," Sabine replied. "Along with your siblings. He knew that all of you were the answer to the hate."
The turbolift doors began to close. Sabine looked out at the mural one last time and waved good-bye to the image of Ezra. Mira followed suit.
A cool breeze suddenly swept through the mural room, filling the turbolift with the bright scents of Lothal. Sabine could feel it brush against her, almost feeling like an invisible hand affectionately running through her hair.
Mira stared at her. "Was that what I think it was?"
Sabine looked at Mira. "Listen to your heart, Mira. What does it say?"
Mira looked down at the folded note. "Love always," she murmured.
She nodded at her daughter. "Love always," she agreed.
Jai coughed politely behind them. "You know, Sabine, it's supposed to be getting colder tonight. There's still time for you to - "
"Jai. I will cause an interplanetary incident in front of everyone if you bring up my choice of attire one more time."
Mira laughed, a lovely twinkling sound that reminded her so much of Ezra. Sabine grinned and reached out to take her eldest daughter's hand.
I see you, goober.
Love you always.
