I think your art is pretty cool ! Do you have any tips for beginners? :D
I'm not sure how useful this advice will be, but I guess my main tip for beginners (I'm assuming you're talking about 3D modelling based on my recent posts) would be to not feel intimidated by 3D as a medium just because you're unfamiliar with it!
I think a lot of people, especially 2D artists, look at a 3D model and have their first thought be "I couldn't do that, 3D is super complicated" and never even attempt it based on an assumption that, imo, isn't really true.
I strongly encourage anyone who hasn't tried it but is curious to just download blender and make a very simple extrusion model (look up extrusion modelling tutorials on youtube, there's millions of them) of something they like.
Here's one of the very first 3D models I made that wasn't something like a crate or a chair, using extrusion starting with a cube:

You could make something like this in under an hour with 0 prior 3D experience, and it's honestly not even a bad basis for a more complex model.

Hey blender users! I REALLY need some help with baking a normal. So I made the tunic, uv unwrapped and did the texturesk, then copied it, turned it into a low poly version with descmate and made the normal map but no matter the settings I can not for the life of me figure out wtf is with those weird spots on the normal. Nor can I get them to go away. Please help!!!!

Anyone have any tips on avoiding cravings around times when you’re on your period??
PCOS really kicks my ass with carb cravings around my time of the month and its so hard to ignore. I stay away from the kitchen as much as possible but i have to cook for other people and clean the kitchen so i end up eating something

Your 3d models are beautiful! How did you manage to make the mouth of your wolf move? I'm new to blender and don't really understand how to articulate the jaw of the skull... 😅 Is it a rig? Thank you !
Hey there, thanks so much!
The jaw on my wolf (as well as all of the other facial animations, including the ears) is completely controlled by shapekeys! (different vertex positions that you can blend between basically)
The only bone I used in the head is a single bone to control the position of the entire head.
I've included a short recording of me messing around with the mouth shapekeys below so you can see how I control different aspects of the jaw:
I typically prefer to use shapekeys for facial animation for my simpler, more low poly rigs. I have used bones and shapekeys controlled by bones (drivers) for mouth rigs in some of my other models though, but that tends to get really complicated so I don't do it often unless I want a particularly flexible rig.
I'm not a tutorial guy so I suggest you look up "blender shapekeys tutorial" or "blender drivers tutorial" if you want specific advice on how they work!

How do you do your mouths? they always seem to be very tricky for me, especially moving the teeth with the jaw for viseme blendshapes
Ooh! So, I have 2 separate workflows I do for mouths but they're both kinda the same workflow. Something that may help more than anything I'd write is my second youtube channel where I have some timelapses uploaded
Visemes first though before I get into modeling

for lip sync, the first thing I do is make an AA / Jaw open shape key. I set up an empty where I want the jaw rotation to be, and i set my 3D cursor there + set my transform pivot point to 3D cursor. (Knowing where to put the jaw rotation spot is kinda tricky and takes some fiddling around) Once I get the mouth where I'd like it to be, I rotate the teeth and other mouth parts as well on their own AA shape keys
After that I use AA to make the OH viseme, and I make the EE viseme. Then, I combine those three and do extra adjustments to create OO, FF, TH, CH, and PP/MM. You can do all lip sync from just those. For VRChat, I generate visemes in the CATS blender addon and then I delete any of the visemes it generated for ones I've already made (OO,FF,TH,CH,PP) and replace them with mine, because they look better than the auto generated

I usually leave a bit of a gap between the lips. If the outlines don't fill that gap entirely, I make a mesh that fills in that spot

So for the actual modeling I have 2 methods:
The first and primary way I do things is I trace out the mouth outline from my refs with verts, and adjust it to match the front and side view

and i just start extruding and filling in until I get a head mesh

the second way i do things is i make a super rough sculpt, and I retopologize it! But I also combine the retopologized mesh with my first method for the eye area, because I've found that I can't really get a sculpt perfectly accurate to a 2D ref

🧋Mental diet is like a normal diet , the only difference is that instead of avoiding unhealthy food , we avoid unproductive thoughts aka thoughts which contradict our desires . We choose to think productive & healthy thoughts. Believe it or not , our thoughts create our reality.
🎀Master your mind to focus on what you want & persisting in the desired story. If you are focusing on what you don't want or if your mind keeps going back to the old story, then it's very important to maintain a strong mental diet. Our brain is used to wandering or be in auto pilot mode. We need to create a new pattern where we only focus on what we want. To create a new pattern , we need to put consistent attention and put mental effort to focus on what we want. The more effort we put to focus on what we want , the more we will train our mind. Gradually , the new pattern will become habitual. Choose to be a conscious creator and be consistent.
🧋Think from a perspective of a person who already has everything they want and keep persisting. Persist until it becomes your reality. You have control over your thoughts , you have the power to choose what you think about.
🎀In one of Kim Velez's videos , she said that said Mental diet is King and she is right. The more you think something , the more you believe it. Mental diet is so beneficial when you need to reprogram your mind or upgrade your self concept , or manifest your desires. In general , mental diet is very helpful.
🧋Sammy Ingram also said that Mental diet is forever because our thoughts are forever creating. We need to be on Mental diet to replace our limited or negative beliefs. When you let those negative thoughts settle , you are holding the undesired reality in place. To change things , we affirm the opposite , we focus on what we want.
🎀"It is the food which you furnish to your mind that determines the whole character of your life. It is the thoughts you allow yourself to think , the subjects that you allow your mind to dwell upon , which makes you and your surroundings what they are " - Emmet Fox.
🧋Incase, all this sounds very confusing to you , let me simplify it for you. You don't need to do anything but just focus on what you want . Think thoughts from a perspective where you have your desires. If you have your desires , you won't whine about not having them , right ? Keep persisting in your desired reality. If you get thoughts which contradict your desires , just take a deep breathe and know that they don't matter. Those thoughts don't matter so don't pay attention to them.

a lot of people strain themselves to not check the 3D for evidence of their manifestation, which is great and all cuz u shouldn't be checking the 3D ever anyways. but the concept of it can be distorted so i just wanna clear up some misconceptions about the unspoken "dont check the 3D rule" in manifesting.

the point is not to completely go out of ur way and ur daily routine to try and look for ways that ur 3D is being inconsistent with you. that puts the 3D on the pedestal instead of you, which is not hot ✨
what you need to learn to do when ur in the process of manifesting something is to learn indifference to the 3D. checking the 3D means that ur looking for validation in the 3D when the only validation that u do need is in the 4D.
being indifferent to the 3D looks like, when ur manifestation materializes your response would be "omg my manifestation materialized...ofc it, did im literally god." or if ur manifestation hasn't materialized you'd just check the 4D instead of the 3D.
the 4D equals the 3D, NOT the other way around. so in order for u to experience a change in ur 3D, u must first make that change in the 4D, this is where persistence and discipline play a huge part in manifestation.
if you absolutely MUST check the 3D you must do so in a way of indifference. not giving power to the 3D means that ur keeping the power to yourself which is what we wanna be doing.
the best way in my opinion to react to the 3D with indifference is to remember that you are always in total control and u can control ur thoughts and in turn ur reality. reverting to self concept is the best thing that u can do to react to the 3D with indifference.
my personal belief is that when ur manifestation materializes then u won't even have to look for it bcuz it'll be so blatantly obvious and in-your-face so u dont have to go out and look for it

Np, I actually haven't! It stands for non-photorealistic.
Basically any 3D rendering style that isn't attempting realistic lighting, such as cell shading or shadeless like mine.

If your still answering blender stuffs, I've been incredibly curious on how you do your outlines!!! Specifically the colors fading depending on the color part. Is it done manually? Or is it a fun color shader??

The method I use for outlines is called the inverted hull method! Basically, it duplicates the original mesh, thickens it a bit, and inverts the normals so it renders behind the base mesh.
soo.. what do inverted normals do? Normals are basically how the computer understands where a face of geometry is pointing! all faces have an inside and an outside, and typically the inner face (back face) is made invisible, which is called backface culling

So here's what the outlines look like with a little bit of shading!

I'm really careful with how I make my characters to where their shape is specifically curated to look good with outlines, I typically add outlines within the first hour or two of making a model 1: You can see here how the pink outlines blend in with some black parts that AREN'T outlines, but just meshes or part of the texture 2: This is what my outlines look like without any outline masking, they apply equally to everything. I use masking to change the thickness of the outline mesh! 3: This is what my outline mask looks like! I recently figured out how to bake this to a texture instead of just guesstimating it for Unity

These outlines aren't too hard to set up in Blender, they're just a solidify modifier with flipped normals and a black material. But I use the Outline Helper addon by Feline Entity to make adding them super quick
The way I have outlines in Unity is the exact same concept, but done in a shader (Poiyomi Toon) so it's more optimized than having a 2nd real mesh.. Don't ask me how its more optimized I'm not That smart 😔 Finally, I'm not really sure what you mean by colors fading? If this response didn't cover it, could you elaborate or link an example of my work where you see that effect so I could explain? :3

bit of an odd question but how do you fix bloating/constipation from heavy restriction??
i'm not 100% sure but here's some things i've heard work
Bloating:
peppermint, chamomile, ginger, or green tea
abdominal massage (following the large intestine)
walking/physical activity (squats, crunches, etc)
taking a warm bath
yoga poses (child's pose, happy baby pose, etc)
gas relief pills
slowly increasing fiber intake until you get to the suggested amount (25g for girls, 38g for boys)
cut back on salt, fizzy drinks, and gum
drink more water
heating pad/warm water bottle on stomach
Constipation:
laxatives or stool softeners (in moderation)
coffee or tea
increase water and fiber intake
limit high fat/low fiber foods (cheese and dairy products, meat, processed food, etc)
abdominal massages
suppositories
prebiotics (found in bananas and oatmeal) and probiotics (found in yogurt and other fermented foods)
eat prunes or drink prune juice
take a glucomannan supplement or get it from konjac noodles
using a foot stool while going to the bathroom
