Today is another year without my parents. I wanted to make a post about them, but couldn't think of how to do it.

Thomas and Martha Wayne were supporttive in every way. I couldn't have asked for more loving parents. Even though they left so soon, I was loved so much by them.

I want to use today to commemorate them, as well as thank the people in my life who stepped into the role of caregiver when I had felt like the world would swallow me whole.

@alfred--pennyworth Alfred, I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done. You taught me what it truly means to be a father, just the way my parents would have wanted. Without you, who knows who I would have become?

And to all of my children, who I will certainly attempt to list here, I need to say how proud I am of you. Without your bright smiles, and without the trust and faith you have in me even on your darkest days, I wouldn't be half the man I am today. There aren't enough words on Earth to express my love for each of you.

I love each and every one of you. And Tim, I'm so grateful that you agreed to shoulder the burden of the gala. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Damian froze as he got out of the elevator into the bat cave, finally looking up from what he was doing on his phone. He was looking up information on a case Batman and Robin were currently working on, he had been planning on using the batcomputer for more work. Instead now he was looking at a large image of what he knew was a photo of himself edited with blue eyes, but all he could see was what Aidan might have looked like if he was still alive.

"What are you doing!?" There was a clear hint of rage in his voice and he ignored when they tried to make explanations, frisbee throwing his phone at the image so they would have to worry about that and turning back into the elevator. He slammed the button for an emergency lift to make sure that it close before they could get to him and got to the top faster than it normally would, storming out and telling Alfred he was going to the barn when he asked what was wrong.

When he got there he grabbed one of the spare swords he kept in the loft and went to find a tree to take his feelings out on. They didn't know and he knew that, it was his own fault to. But that didn't mean that seeing that image hadn't hurt in a way he didn't think something like that would.
