I wanted to recommend ‘Eagle Eyes’ to the community.

It’s a Hogwarts rewrite with fascinating magic with great characters, friendships and Ravenclaw dramione. Book 5 has just been completed (a satisfactory pause imo) and the writer intends to publish book 6 soon.

Calling all Severus Snape fans. Allow me to pitch a headcanon or two... or more.

When sev started becoming the master of potions. He secretly sold his potions to every house except Gryffindor (for obvious reasons) and even tutored for a few gallions.

He would also brew whole packages full of potions for st.mungos that needed specific types of potions for a reasonable price and trade. (The idea was brought up by both McGonagall and Pomfrey)

When he was a child, he got a guitar from his father, which was the one and only decent thing he gave severus.

Severus taught himself how to play it and would mostly play for himself and his mom. But during his 4th or 5th year and the money was really low, he started playing on the streets and then started playing in bars for extra money (He's a good singer, and you can't tell me otherwise) and he was known as the Siren of Spinners End.

If he was a quidditch player, I have no doubt he would've created game plans so good, Slytherin would be victorious for a long time.

The only other people he gives private concerts to are Charity, Aurora, his mother Eileen, Lucius, and Narcissa (Draco included).

His animagus would have either been a raven or bat (my best bet would've been raven)

His patronus (if it wasn't a doe) would most likely be a bat or a raven

He loves gardening, and if he had his own flat, he would have his own little plants (TELL ME I'M WRONG)

Read tons of poetry and dark literature. He even made his own poems, but no one other than Narcissa and Draco has heard them

He would definitely be the godfather to Aurora Sinistra and Charity Burbage's child and will love it so much.

I feel like Narcissa Malfoy is rather overhyped(when she isn't being forgotten completely) as a character. She is the perfect example of 'the aristocratic wife' until the real world hits her in the face (and even then it takes a while).

Coz in the books she doesn't do shit. We have no indication that she has any sort of job(not that she'd need one). You could say she raised Draco but I don't count that because she did such a bad job at it; Draco turned out to be a spoilt, entitled bully (tho ofc Lucius equally shares the blame for this). She was pretty, came from money and a respectable family, and had no real valuable contribution of her own (unlike bellatrix who had the first 2 things too but was voldemort's right hand DE). Lucius has a constant presence in the books, we see different ways in which he subtly exercises his power and influence (ranging from donations to cozy up to fudge to threatening the other board governors that he'll curse their families if the don't remove dumbledore from the position of headmaster), plus his whole arc from one of voldemort's most trusted DEs (he was entrusted with a horcrux) to the pathetic situation we see him in in DH. Narcissa, however, has nothing of this sort. She's briefly introduced during the Qudditch world cup, not mentioned at all in book 5, and is an absolute dumbass in book 6.

Ik tht last one is controversial, but i was with bellatrix the whole time, coming to snape was fucking stupid. I get tht she thought he was on their side, especially considering he was with the DEs during the first war too, but y tf would u trust a double agent? Him convincingly answering all of bellatrix's questions means nothing, its obvious that he'll hv similarly tailored answers for dumbledore. I get that she was terrified and desperate, but it always struck me as odd that she never volunteered to take her 16 y/o son's place to get the task done (or at least we don't get any mention of this, and at any rate i don't think voldy wud hv oblidged considering this was punishment for lucius's failures), or if she already knew that this wasn't a viable option, she doesn't even try to help him out herself. Instead she runs straight to snape and weeps on his floor. This is so unlike, say, lily, who stood in btw her baby boy and voldemort. Mind u, the whole thing worked out only because dumbledore put on the ring and was going to die in a yr, she got lucky( imo this is lyk remus getting lucky with keeping sirius being an animagus as a secret coz he didn't turn out to be a mass murderer after all). U couldn't even say she was using snape too because she's clearly too distraught in tht scene to be doing any kind of manipulation. It all falls on the shoulder of her 16 y/o son to keep his family safe from voldemort.

She doesn't do anything throughout book 7 until the very end, where she lies to voldemort just to know if her son's alive or not, which inadvertently leads to voldemort being defeated by harry. This is only thing of substance she does in the entire series(and likewise i ll give her the credit, it was ballsy asf). As much as i appreciate her for what she did in the end, i think the fact that it took her roughly 40 years to do something of value is heavily ignored.

I don't know if it's just a ordinary working day in the ministry, or it's been a long time after the war and he trying to remember how his love looked like.

Also, children at school were not taught how to summon a patronus, so I think that it was Severus who could have taught him as an adult. And it would be a very awkward (but sweet) scene when his patronus turns out to be a cat. It's not as poetic as Severus and Lily's, because there was no third doe. but i still think it's cute.

Malfoy Manor was something else. While Potter Manor was warm and welcoming, the Malfoy residence screamed ancient money and proudness. It was almost gothic in appearance, a far cry from the idyllic oversized cottage the Potters owned. Regulus had been in it many times before and, just like Grimmauld Place, it was always cold. 

Regulus and Remus hadn’t been able to detangle the mirror’s magic, but they did manage to transform the silver into pewter, so at least the wolves could handle them. They didn’t have enough time for much more. 

“Right, so the plan is Regulus and Sirius go inside because they’ve been in the Manor before and the rest of us scout the perimeter.” Remus made sure they all understood the plan one final time. “Everybody needs to do their part, no going off script!” He pointed a finger at Sirius and James. “I mean it,” Sirius and James looked affronted but smartly didn’t say anything. “Alright, everyone?” 

“Right,” They all agreed. 

“Then good luck,” He shrugged, before pulling Sirius into a long, passionate embrace. Regulus screwed up his face at the smacking of his brother’s lips and was suddenly spun around himself, and dragged into James’s arms. 

“Don’t do anything stupid,” James warned once he’d pulled his face away from Regulus’s.

“Your concern is appreciated, but you are talking to the wrong Black brother,” Regulus smirked and kissed him one last time before extricating himself from James’s arms. “We’ll be in and out before you can say Quidditch,” He told him, and yanking his brother away from Remus’s grabby hands he flung the invisibility cloak over them and began to walk down the path towards the house. 

They got inside via a side door with no trouble but kept wary eyes open for any of the family skulking around and headed deeper into the manor. 

Sirius was sniffing the air with each step, it was loud and irritating, and if it wasn’t vitally important that Sirius did it, Regulus would have hexed him by now. 

“There’s definitely one here,” Sirius whispered. He sniffed again, angling his head to the side. “I think it’s higher up. Another floor at least.” They found the marble staircase and climbed it. 

Voices made them pause at the top of the stairs. Torches burst into life as someone walked towards them. 

“The Dark Lord has made it abundantly clear that we wait for his instructions. If we go attacking Aurors willy-nilly we will squander our upper hand.” Lucius’s bored drawl echoed slightly off the walls. He was walking with Patrick Parkinson. 

“It was Mad Eye though. He’s so far up Dumbledore’s arse I’m surprised he can even see us when he’s firing off curses. Those damn flaming chickens would crumble without that nutter watching out for them.” Parkinson laughed harshly. 

“Be that as it may, the Dark Lord has given specific instructions, and we must abide by them,” Lucius continued as they descended the stairs Regulus and Sirius had just climbed. 

They didn’t dare speak, even after they were sure they were gone. Sirius took Regulus’s hand and tugged gently, getting him to move from where they’d been plastered against the wall. Sirius started up his sniffing again, but gentler now. 

They’d just rounded the corner of the corridor when Sirius planted his feet and breathed in deeply. 

“It’s nearby,” Suddenly Sirius wasn’t standing next to him and a great black dog was in his place. Regulus had to cover his mouth with his hand to stop the yelp that nearly escaped him at the sight of the bear-like dog. He knew his brother was an animagus, but James had failed to mention just how big he was. He looked like a Grim. 

Padfoot made quick work of hunting down the Horcrux's location and transformed back into Sirius. “It’s in there,” Sirius whispered as Regulus caught up. Sirius pushed the door open and walked in. Regulus followed closely behind him, concealed by the invisibility cloak. 

The room was dark apart from one candle in the corner near a small bookcase. Sirius sniffed again and turned his head at the bookcase. He took one step towards it. 

“Sirius?” Narcissa spoke from the chair on the other side of the candle, a book resting on her lap. “What are you doing here, Sirius?” Regulus felt his blood run cold.

“Goodbye, James.”

That was the last time he’d heard Regulus’ voice.

As much as it shamed him to admit it, James was almost glad his parents weren’t around to see it; to see the deep black ink marring his forearm. He wasn’t sure he could’ve stomached seeing them realise that their son — the boy they’d cradled in their arms, the boy they’d raised to be kind and thoughtful and loving — had branded himself the same as murderous blood purists.

But that was just it, wasn’t it? James had been raised to love and to protect the people closest to him. And nobody had been as close to him as Regulus Black.

He could still feel the ghost of his touch, when he thought hard enough. It was all that kept him going when he’d thrown his first Avada Kedavra; it was all for Regulus. To protect him. To show him that no matter what he did, he was never ‘too cruel’ or ‘too monsterous’ for James. Because anything Regulus had done, James had too, now.

James was yet to see Regulus at any meetings, though. Or missions. Crouch Jr. said it was because James wasn’t very high in the ranks, yet.

So he rose.

He rose and he rose until even Bellatrix Lestrange was beneath him. She feared him, even. The Dark Lord was letting James lead missions; letting him plan them and decide who to bring and who to kill and who to curse until they forgot their own name. It pained him, at first. These were his friends, and he had to treat them like enemies. Marlene, Dorcas. Alice and Frank. Lily, Peter, Remus. Sirius.

For Regulus, James reminded himself, flinging a slicing hex at one of the Prewett brothers.

For Regulus, James thought, using his animagus form to spy on Order meetings.

For Regulus, James thought, facing down children on the battlefield.

He was slowly becoming more and more numb to it. Eventually, he wasn’t sure he felt anything at all.

But then.

It was a meeting like any other. The Dark Lord’s inner circle sat at the table, while lower ranking Death Eaters stood around the room. One seat eternally empty — Regulus’ — between The Dark Lord and Lucius Malfoy, and directly opposite James. James had resigned himself to another hour of missing his love when, moments before the meeting was to begin, the doors swung open.

There, moving across the large manor dining room with the grace and presence of royalty, was Regulus Black. Perfect black curls smoothed back from his face, showing his sharp cheekbones and icy cold eyes and pursed lips.

James couldn’t wait to feel them again.

Regulus didn’t seem to notice him, at first, but James could see it the moment he did. Those gorgeous eyes widened just a touch, his lips fell apart. It took all of James’ self control not to throw himself across the table and invade them with his tongue.

At a guess, James reckoned Regulus took in as little of the meeting as he did himself. Their eyes had locked across the table and it seemed like nothing at all could break their stares, not until The Dark Lord announced the meeting’s conclusion and Regulus all but ran from the room like it was on fire.

By the time James caught up to him, Regulus had hidden himself away in a small drawing room and was pacing, hands tugging at his hair. He turned abruptly when James shut the door behind himself.

”James,” he breathed, running into James’ arms. Everything James had done — the curses he’d thrown, the lives he’d ended — it all fell away into nothing. All that was left was the love cradled in his arms.

”Hello, love.”

I don't think I've covered that so far? Not all of them were made up by me tbf, most of them came from @literallysleepy but I'd be happy to explain them! I've not mentioned them all on here I think, but I'll cover what I've got. Obviously there are some we didn't come up with you I figured I'd just include them all

Cosmiccreation/Xenophilius x Pandora: A reference to their hippie-ish attitudes (a common headcanon for them in general but especially in aus) and the creation is based off of Pandora's occupation as an inventor. I have seen quillseer for this two as well, the quill from Xenophilius's occupation as an editor for The Quibbler and seer because it's a popular headcanon that Pandora is one, but since I don't follow that headcanon it doesn't make sense for me to use that shipname. If I see a shipname with seer in it, I'll likely think it's for Sybill

Crownest/Severus x Igor: It originally started as Crow's Nest but obviously it doesn't fit with the way a shipname is usually written. A crow is a dark bird (obviously) and then a crow's nest is also a structure in the upper part of the main cast of a ship, so there's the dark bird for Severus and then there's the bird in reference to Igor as well and then the ship is a reference to Igor and him being from Durmstrang and the fact that they travel by ship and all that

Flowerpot/James x Lily: Just a fun name for jily, really, I know it's not used as much but yeah,,, Lily=flower, James=Pot(ter)

Ratseer/Peter x Sybill: Peter's animagus is a rat, Sybill is a seer.

Rosekiller/Barty x Evan: Rose comes from Rosier and killer is just,, well it's Barty and he's a murderer so like,, yeah rosekiller

Seabunny/Charity x Igor: Similar like how a crow's nest is a thing on a ship, the sea comes from Igor's connection to Durmstrang and their chosen mode of transportation aka a ship sailing the sea. The bunny part comes from Igor calling Charity "Bunny" as a nickname because she's bunny-like in his head. She scrunches her nose when she smiles and laughs (like a bunny nose twitching), she's very bouncy in general, and during sex she'll thump her foot in the air like a bunny

Starchaser/Sunseeker/James x Regulus: Regulus is a star, James is the sun, chaser and seeker are common headcanons for their quidditch positions. James is chasing the star aka Regulus and Regulus is searching for the sun aka James

Starrynight/Aurora x Severus: It feels a little self-explanatory, but the starry comes from Aurora and her fascination with the stars and night comes from Severus and him generally

Whitecastle/Lucius x Narcissa: It's a reference to their light palettes and their high status

Wiseprince/Edmund Jr x Severus: The Avery family is represented by Barn Owls and owls commonly symbolize wisdom, hence the wise and Severus's mother's name is Prince and it's been used for his half of a ship name in other ships. These two were also called emofaggot for a while lmaoooo cause,,, Edmund's a faggot and have you looked at Severus?
