Irregular orbits by rocketmermaid: a safety scout on an outpost long abandoned by the accord is rescued from a killer solar flare by the affini. what first appears to be gentle help may be more manpulative than it seems. depraved kink and a heartfelt story of reconciliation ensues.

Knock upper bend over by sapphicsounds: a pregnancy kink mob-boss-to-housewife story. I have beta read the full thing, and it's one of the hottest things I have ever read.

Freedom's ember by kanagen: the ramifications of No gods no masters are explored in this sequel story set 60 years later.

Golden Ladder by ashinbloom: a depressed egg is rescued from a solar flare by a strangely human affini, and must navigate life in the compact.

Alder's Prize (M/f) /Adelira's prize (F/f) by Sheepwave and 4WheelSword- Hard noncon forcefem that plays out a lot like the original HDG but with the horny turned up to 11. Has both M/f and F/f versions. it's still my list and I'm still allowed to Include one of mine, plus I cowrote it so it's only half mine.

Sol is Short for Solace by witch_freya and Fluxom: a Terran rebel on the run goes on a hitchhiking space road trip and is constantly getting fucked along the way while her future owners stalks her prey from afar. this one is depraved and i fucking love it.

Angels on her shoulder by pyxxiestyxx: One of the setting's only drone fics, a rebel is given a mysterious latex suit that connects her to an affini from afar, and has to try to get out without being caught by her insane crewmates. yeah I'm including two by my girlfriend and nobody can stop me

Oh how I can I narrow it down to just 7?? Great question though!!

1. Towards the end of The Hunger Games when the capitol doctors are operating on Peeta and Katniss is on the other side of the glass, watching helplessly. I'm picturing a straight behind shot, lots of blinking lights and the doctors working furiously, but with all the noise reduced as we focus in on Katniss's narration that now she understands why people don't leave when their loved ones are dying (they have no choice!!!!)

2. Working on the plant book, with Katniss sitting on her bed with her foot up, resting, and Peeta sitting on a chair he's pulled up next to the bed, sketching. There's sunlight coming in through the window, hitting his face (and eyelashes!!) as she watches him. Close up of her face, close up of what she's focused on (his hand, his eyelashes) until he speaks and startles her out of her reverie

3. The rooftop picnic. It's just, ughhhhh so cozy, so fun, the entire scene bathed in orange sunlight as the sun goes down. We were robbed I tell ya

4. Pivot to Ballad: their goodbyes before Lucy Gray enters the arena. The peach, the compact with implications that she should poison people, the kiss, the guards tearing them apart.

5. Lucy Gray's reaping. Far too hinged in the movie imo. She should be dancing around, singing, and just out of reach of the peacekeepers trying to restore order. There should be chaos.

6. The Sunrise on the Reaping epilogue. Perfection

7. The berries!!! "They have to have a victor, trust me, hold them out; I want them to see, stop stop!" Rushing to the river to wash their mouths out, collapsing against each other, sharing a ladder because there's no way they're letting go of each other. I just love it all

At first, it was a drop of water on the car's windshield as you and Olivia advanced towards the suspect's address that was currently pinging on the GPS to swerve away from high-traffic areas.

 

In the passenger seat, you craned your neck so you could gauge the incoming weather. "I hope you're not getting your hopes up expecting rain in mid-July." Olivia said from the driver's seat nonchalantly.

 

You cast her a side eye, flopping back into your seat. "To live without hope is to cease to live. Stop being such a party popper Liv, it's been in the 80s°F since last week. A girl should hope for some rain before we all faint from heatstroke."

 

Olivia sputtered out a laugh. "Did you just quote me on Jürgen Moltmann? I can't believe I've been working with a nerd all this while."

 

Her verbal blow made you smack her on the arm as you made a face of faux offence. "You're calling me the nerd? I'm not the one who knew the quote was Yurgen's or whomever you said it was."

 

However, she knew from your perfect pronunciation of the theologian's name that you had begun to rage a banter. "Says you, I bet you even looked up the pronunciation. Any normal person would've said Yargen instead of Yurgen." She clocked on the blinkers, maneuvering the car into a neighbourhood as a few drops of rain splattered against the windshield.

 

"And the fact that you have that information makes you more of a nerd than I am." Your laugh barked out, luring hers out as well. "Touché." And the both of you were trying your best to contain the unending waves of laughter pouring out of your throats, knowing the debate was over at your catch.

 

Your eyes trailed out the window when the car pulled up at the sidewalk closest to the building, skimming for your suspect in case he wanted to get a headstart while Olivia double-checked the GPS for the right address. "You ready?" Her tone turned grave and you nodded, sliding out of the vehicle in tandem with her.

 

The rain was more compact now, hitting your face every few seconds and making you hope you'd have luck by your side to stay relatively dry until you got back to the unit.

 

It took a while to reach his apartment, but when you did, your suspect's fight-or-flight instincts took over as soon as you flashed your badge. He leapt out from the fire escape, forcing you to follow this trail as Olivia rounded the apartment building.

 

She skidded around the corner into the alleyway, just in time to witness your tumbling down the suspended ladder after the suspect, simultaneously dragging him down onto the rough concrete ground with your body weight.

 

It seemed to take a whole thousand raindrops bursting against your skin and soaking your clothes as you cuffed the innocent-screaming suspect before handing the guy over to Olivia who shoved him into the backseat by the top of his head.

 

"80s°F and raining; it looks like Jürgen is the winner here." You sent her a smug smile despite the shiver that crawled up your spine. "Whatever helps you sleep at night." She rolled her eyes in defeat, not trusting her teeth to not chatter and subsequently further your teasing.

 

She caught your winner's grin as she reared the car to life and you switched off the AC when you saw her fingers tremble as they gripped the steering, taking no consideration into the suspect more than pissed off objection.

 

Then it was all easy-going back to the unit when you and Olivia were sent back home due to a good job, late hours, and wet hair.

 

You two clocked out without a complaint, knowing Fin could finish off the interrogation better than two shivering wet detectives, one drier than the other but still on the same level of 'drenched to the core'.

 

It wasn't until you winded down for bed that you realised the trouble you both were in. "Don't tell me it is what I think it is." You slapped your hands on your face in bed when you sneezed for the third time that night, your back aching from the previous fall. It made you regret all the choices you made that morning.

 

"Looks like Jürgen doesn't have your back." Olivia laughed before succumbing to a fit of coughs, leaving you wheezing at her sickness's timely attack and puns.

 

"Yeah I'll bet he doesn't have yours either." You made an aggressive inhale, shifting up your pillow for a better angle of breath.

 

"And don't you even think about going to work tomorrow. I'm taking care of you." You continued, voice going snotty.

 

"Haven't you heard of survival of the fittest? We'll see who takes care of who tomorrow." Her flaunt made you smile wordlessly because despite her tough exterior, you already knew you'd be the one taking care of her tomorrow. She only proved you right when she let out another round of wet coughs.

So i’ve been thinking (shocking, really) about the world building for my reverse robins wingfic.

ike, sure, it’s a little fic and ppl prolly won’t notice, but i just cant help but speculate.

in this au, everyone is born with wings unless afflicted with a certain illness, disease, or genetic defect that leaves you with no avian traits (which is the excuse the kents use).

but how would having wings influence the infrastructure? well, i’m glad you asked! cities are more compact because there isn’t really as big a need for transportation unless you’re an aves that’s just not built for long-distance travels like various passeriformes birds.

planes still exist, but they’re utilized by the avians who aren’t able to fly long distances. avians who have wings like albatrosses or terns or other soaring birds would probably require licenses to do their annual migrations and travels- same applies to regualr migritory species like ducks and geese- where the instinct remains despite not needing to migrate.

of course, with the constant migration through countries, i think there would be more mixing of races and ethnicities especially within the migratory bird communities, so there would probably be less overall hostilities.

now, there will still be discriminatory and hateful ideals, and some are shown in my fics. For example, Gotham’s elites are mostly made up of raptors and birds of prey like eagles, kites, kestrels, hawks, falcons, ospreys, owls, etc- birds who actively hunt down mammalian or lizards for prey (in the real world i mean), that is because of displays of powers. Scavengers like condors, vultures, buzzards, are regarded lower on the social ladder but not as low as perching birds and song birds simply because of their ability to have sustained flight.

like i mentioned briefly, songbirds and perching birds (passerines) are regarded lowly in general due to their “weak demeanor” and overall flashiness, which gives them the reputation of being only suitable to work in brothels and such regardless of gender (but especially dudes where the aves species exhibits sexual dimorphism, eg. cardinals, peacocks, golden pheasants, etc.)

there are definitely some exceptions, being corvids. some cultures have corvids as villans, whereas others may portray corvids as intelligent and charming.

now, we arrive to genetics. im still not 100% sure how i want the phenotype of an avian to be passed down. so far, it’s mainly just sons are the same aves as their fathers (like thomas wayne, bruce, and damian are all harpy eagles, but martha wayne was a kingfisher and talia is an imperial eagle), but im not sure abt daughters. genetics is messy, but i think i’ve managed to sertle on a 50/50 chance of being born either the same aves as their mother, or their paternal grandmother. like if damian had been born with xx instead of xy chromosomes, then he’d either have been an imperial eagle like talia, or a kingfisher like martha wayne. intersex people exist too, and i think their wings would be a blend between both their mother and father’s.

now for the the supers and the other metas:

as mentioned previously, the kents claim that their adopted son had a genetic disorder that basically prevented him from growing wings (or just left him in a state similar to humans before they were all “cursed” by a diety to have wings, or whatever. in the dcu, that probably woulnd’t even be too far fetched), so clark lacked a major social component to his childhood. without wings and a tail, others would have a harder time reading his emotions, seeing as these appendages are crucial in nonverbal communication between avians, and that gives clark a leg up in reading other people, but having them not understanding what he’s thinking.

now with jon and kon, they have two VERY different situations. for jon, since his paternal side is wings-free, i just gave him lois’s ave- western kingbird- instead of making him no-winged. kon, on the other hand was a test-tube baby, so it was a toss-up on whether he’d get lex luthor’s purple martin wings, or clark’s no-wings since they’re both guys. I think kon would’ve enjoyed wings, so i gave him the purple martin wings. Plus, they’re pretty much invulnerable, and their wings are no different.

diana and the other ppl from themyscira wouldn’t have wings since they aren’t human, and same applies to the other jl members who aren’t humans.

on a wholly separate note: the lazarus pits. here, not only does it give you white streaks in your hair, it’ll bleach out your feathers. so liek if a peacock was thrown into the pit, not only would they die and come back manic, their feathers would make them look like piebald, or have different markings or white ticking.

LILITHIAN ROSARY updated

The Lilithian Rosary I constructed was based off a design during the period from about 1537 – 1714, persecution of Catholics in Ireland as well as in Great Britain, became government policy.  Catholic clergy in Ireland were expelled, and those who did not leave were forced into hiding.

If found, they were subject to instant execution. As a result, the priests were hidden in private homes, sometimes in a, “Priest hole,” and mass had to be held in secret. Often in the countryside on, “Mass rocks,” as well as privately in homes.
 All Catholic items were forbidden including statues, stained glass windows and even the possession of a rosary was illegal.

Unfortunately the faith was kept alive, and many were able to practice private devotions without any penalties. For those wishing to have a rosary — a “Tenner Rosary,” was the perfect choice — it was easy to hide so that if someone unknown to you were to approach, it could be quickly tucked away.

Tenner rosaries have a crucifix, the Our Father and ten rosary beads. Lilith Tenner Rosary (LTR). To partake in the centuries old tradition of black mass, I created my own Tenner Rosary. As we often find ourselves persecuted and not understood in the workplace or socially, the rosary is small and easy to use. I used thirteen beads, of which five were Tiger Eye to honor Lilith, six stone, and two metal.

I also fastened an owl to one end, to signify the beginning of the prayer and end with a stone etched with Sigils of Lilith. 
Based off the compact size, and crafting the rosary of thirteen beads was due to many occultist assigning, “Six,” to represent the number of man, and the number, “Seven,” to represent the number of divine perfection. Thus, as a person climbs “Jacob’s Ladder” toward self-perfection in the realm of the occult, the number, ’Thirteen,” represents the state of divine perfection, self-achieved perfection, and Illumination [6 + 7 = 13.].

Instead of a crucifix and the, “Our Father,” I chose an owl, my spirit guide and a stone etched with sigils of Goddess Lilith. For the Hail Lilith beads, I used Tiger Eye beads.

Interesting 1986 mid-century modern home in Surprise, AZ has 2 homes - a new addition to the main house was built in 2021. Total of 4bds, 4ba, $888K.

Look at the cute entrance foyer- it has HELLO written in tiles on the floor.

I love the paint in the combination living/dining room. It's so nice to see a reno'd home that's not white or gray.

This is beautifully done.

The main room's built-in shelving flows seamlessly into the kitchen.

And check out the work desk that was incorporated right into the kitchen cabinets.

The kitchen is large, has plenty of storage that virtually disappears, and there's also an interesting ceiling.

The cabinets are laminate and look at this- cabinets within cabinets.

The wall with the ovens and fridge have wood cabinets.

There's also a huge pantry that doubles as an office.

Very cool bathroom.

Look at the big game room.

There's a bedroom off the game room and it has a ladder to a loft.

This is cool.

The primary bedroom is interesting. The bed area is separated by a large beam.
