Donât forget that you live in a very incredibly crazy age of maximum information. We often forget how magical that is in itself. I know that most folks donât consider bluetooth and wifi to be âmagicâ but I very much do.
It may not seem very aesthetically pleasing to look up the meanings of your tarot cards on Google, or to download the e-book version of an ancient grimoire, but donât forget how fucking crazy it is that you can even do that. In an instant we can translate entire works into a language we can understand. We can research the histories of cultures we have no chance of witnessing irl. We can learn the names of Gods and demons that should have been lost to time. We can learn the benefits and dangers of any herb, we can learn which plants are native to our environment, how to care for them, and where to find them. We can predict the damn WEATHER!!! We can even converse with other witches all the way across the globe without a momentâs delay!!! Thatâs some crazy magic right there!!! Any ancient witch, mage, or practitioner would find these things to be absolutely incredible!! Thereâs so much to learn, and itâs so easily accessible!!!
Donât ever feel apprehensive about looking stuff up on the regular old internet. It might not look as cool, but youâre probably gaining a lot more knowledge than any of those ancient mages could have even dreamed of. Itâs always nice to have a collection of books and grimoires you can actually hold and study. But the fact that you have literally, all of humanityâs knowledge at the tip of your fingertips is amazing!!! Use it!

Request/Reading Boundaries:
A lot of people have asked to send me things to read or requests for writing. I LOVE when people send me these things, but just a few boundaries:
No MCD
No incest
No illegal age gaps
No noncon, in any sense
No EDs, SH, or SI
Advice/Ask Boundaries:
Please do not ask me:
Advice about sex (how-to, positions, etc)
Personal topics like my own intimate life, my own personal information (IRL name, names of family members, etc)
Topics that I am not educated on, or do not have a right to give my opinion on. While I am happy to talk and give advice about LGBTQIA+ issues, I am uncomfortable sharing my opinion on issues that I am still working to learn about, because I don't want to spread false information or be unintentionally hurtful. Also, since I hold a lot of privilege, there are certain topics that I would rather amplify the voices of others about, rather than taking up my own space.

Writing Tips:
Write a lot.
Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!
2. Try microfics!
Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!
3. Find people to write with.
Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.
4. Be gentle with yourself!
This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.
5. Write down your ideas.
Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

Paring: Lane/Anna
Word count: 1.007
Rating: T
Summary: Lane could give anything to Anna, as long as the scientist was sure.
Tagging: @rc-catalog
For the first time ever since she remembered it, the thought of staying alone in her room while she worked seemed unpleasant and annoying for Lane.
All her life, all she ever wanted and all she ever needed was her own space, some peace and quiet and something to work on, some puzzle to solve, some ancient language to learn. But as the members of the squad slowly left and Anna's eyes drifted to the open door, she felt almost a bitter taste in her mouth, a feeling of regret that filled her chest and made her want.
An insatiable want. For Anna's presence, for Anna's company, for Anna's blue eyes and sweet scent. But above all else, she wanted Anna to want to stay.
She wanted to know that Anna craved her company, that she also searched for Lane's face in a crowded room, that Anna wanted to stay, to belong, to be hers.
-I'll need to sit and translate all night. Maybe someone could stay with me while I do it?
Noah and Lester gave each other a confused look, but Anna simply smirked when she saw Lane's eyes fixated on her, throwing herself back on the couch and crossing her legs.
-Okay. Then l'Il stay here.
She waved the boys away as if she was the queen of Laneâs room. As if she ruled it all, and on her rule, she was the only one allowed into that room. The only one allowed anywhere near Lane. The only one allowed in her heart.
She kept on dismissing the boys while the only thing she won in return was a roll of eyes from Noah.
-What are you smiling about? You can go get your sleeping bag yourself.
-What for? We'll sleep on the bed. Together.
Lane only lifted one eyebrow in a silent question, but Anna was no longer looking at her. Instead, she was staring at the two boys who suddenly seemed very hurried to leave the room, making Lane smile to herself. Lester pushed Noah out, before closing the door behind them.
-You two have your fun, but not too much. You got training in the morning, Anna.
The scientist only let out a little air thought her nose before just playfully shouting.
-Get out, Lester.
The silence lasted a couple of seconds before their eyes found themselves once again, shifting the entire air in the room. Annaâs blue eyes seemed to burn colder on the dark room, and Lane knew she was uncapable of ever hiding anything from them. The blue still burned brightly when Anna turned her head a little to the side and patted her thighs on a silent demand.
Everything on her mind tried to convince Lane that she shouldnât. That she was getting her hopes up for nothing. That on the last second, Anna would back away, like she had done on the last time. That she would say that she didnât understand it, that she needed to think. And she would leave Lane to pick up the pieces of her heart by herself.
But like an addict always running back to their favorite drug, Lane would follow those blue eyes to any pit of hell, so her feet carried her to the couch before she could even open her month, and before she could run off, she was already sitting on Annaâs lap, her knees caging the woman to her, on a weak attempt to keep the woman to herself. Anna simply smiled, touching carefully Laneâs hair and placing a strand of it behind Laneâs ear.
Lane didnât move, she couldnât, she didnât dare to.
She kept on simply diving into those blue eyes for as long as she was allowed to while Anna touched all over her face with her finger tips, slowly, softly, surely. Because it was her territory. It belonged to her. And she knew it.
Smiling, Anna took her own hands to her face, taking of her glasses and placing them on the couch before holding Lane by the neck and pulling her closer. And like a stone sinking on the sea it was Anna, Lane had nowhere to turn, nowhere to hide.
And she didnât want to.
Annaâs lips were already so close and she still couldnât focus on anything other than on those blue eyes. She desperately wanted to believe on what they said, the sure they emanated, the sure her deliberate touch transmitted. But how many times she thought Anna was sure before only to be left bare and alone?
-I canât do this again. Not if youâre not sure.
-I donât think you leave me no other choice but to be sure. You are my best friend, no one else matter as much on this world as you do. And knowing that, you still decided to take more and more and more. Even when you know Iâm scared of caring too much, of having someone else important to lose. -Her hands slowly creped up to Laneâs face, brushing her lips with her thumbs. -But now, I donât I have anything else to give, you took everything. Iâm already all yours.
Lane never believed a kiss could be that soft, almost featherlightly so. Like it would almost be wrong to be anything else on that exact moment. Like that kiss, even not being the first one, was the most important one. Like it was a ritual, a promise, an oath. A declaration that both now belonged to each other. A confession, that perhaps they always did.
She could feel Annaâs smirk as soon as she pulled away. The smug smile filled her face as she leaned back against her seat, Lane could only smile back, even more pretentiously so.
-Well, it looks like weâre not just best friends anymore.
Annaâs smile turned soft as she pulled Lane close again by her hips and whispered against the cryptographerâs lips.
-What a pityâŠ
And their lips met again and again and again. Leaving between them no space for any other doubt.

[Translated from Portuguese]
LINK TO VIDEO INTERVIEW
Former member of the British boy band One Direction, Louis Tomlinson will perform, in May, three shows in Brazil. It will be the third time that the musician will perform in the country, an experience that, according to him, is always chaotic - and "in the best possible sense". This is what the singer said to g1, in an interview held at Allianz Parque, where he will play in SĂŁo Paulo, on May 11.
The shows are from the "Faith in the Future" tour, in which Louis returns to his latest album, released in 2022. The setlist also involves songs from the album "Walls" and, of course, One Direction hits.
Fever among children and adolescents in the 2010s, the pop group was formed from the TV show "The X Factor" and lasted six years, breaking up in 2016. Since then, the musicians have followed a solo career. A fact that, in Louis' eyes, is inevitably competitive.
"Your only reference is to compare yourself with the other members," said the Englishman. "You start to think, 'If they're getting this, why am I not getting it?'"
On Spotify, the number of monthly listeners among artists differs a lot. The most popular star of the divorced boy band, Harry Styles has about 58.2 million. Next are Zayn Malik (27.3 million), Niall Horan (17.3 million), Liam Payne (5.7 million) and Louis (2.9 million).
But if success meters like this were once a burden for the musician, today they are no longer, according to him, who also made a point of reiterating that he has always been proud of his friends.
In the interview, the musician also commented on subjects such as the conspiracy theories that describe him as a partner of Styles, the changes of concept between his albums, a Brazilian remix of his "Kill My Mind" - from the funkeiro FP of Trem Bala -, and his interest in fashion
g1 - What is the main difference between the Louis Tomlinson of the X Factor, 2010 and the Louis Tomlinson of today?
Louis Tomlinson - There is a lot of naivete in the boy who appeared in the X Factor. I really didn't know what I was getting into. I didn't know how that would put me sitting here. I definitely had no idea what I was acquiring.
I think I feel much more fulfilled. More confident. It took me a while to have enough courage to say: 'I'm creative, I'm a singer, I'm a composer
Now, I'm just internalizing all these feelings. When you grow up in a place like Doncaster, where I grew up, it takes a while to believe in all these things. Because you only watched it from afar, on TV or on the radio. So, when you become one of these people, there is a whole process until you believe and understand everything.
g1 - And what is the greatest similarity?
Louis Tomlinson - Probably my appearance (laughs). Well, I hope my fans don't correct me here. I like to think that I've always had a very lovely relationship with them. I think that's the only constant thing.
g1 - Do you know any Brazilian singer or band?
Louis Tomlinson - We were talking today about Anitta. And hm... Fresh? Fre? Fresno? I'm learning. I hope [the confusion with the band's name] didn't sound disrespectful, it wasn't my intention.
Do you have any recommendations for me? I got some tips today. What do you have for me?
g1 - There is a Brazilian musician called FP do Trem Bala. He made a remix of 'Kill My Mind'...
Louis Tomlinson - That's cool! So far, you were the one who made the best recommendation. Definitely.
g1 - Can I show you?
Louis Tomlinson - Of course!
youtube
g1 - What's up? Did you like it? Is there anything you would like to say to the FP of the Bullet Train?
Louis Tomlinson - Yes, it's a vibe. Fun. Very fun. Thank you for making a remix of the song.
g1 - This is your third time in Brazil. What comes to your mind when you hear things like 'doing a show in Brazil', 'Brazilian tour', or simply 'Brazilian fans'?
Louis Tomlinson - Chaos. And in the best possible sense. I totally love it.
Live experiences are defined by the most chaotic moments. And coming here and always feeling this energy is as if from the first drum beat, the fans were already there. It's a really triumphant feeling.
g1 - In musical terms, how was the experience of creating 'Faith in the Future' compared to 'Walls'?
Louis Tomlinson - I felt much more fulfilled, confident. I had more understanding of what I wanted to do and how to do it.
[On the first album], there was the factor that I left One Direction. It was as if my head was a mess and there was so much to think about... It didn't have a clear direction. I had to go through the experimentation phase to, in fact, understand who I am as an artist. That took time.
Throughout my creation of 'Walls', this was happening, but I was in a clearer, more concise place going to 'Faith in the Future'. And I think that made [the second] album better.
g1 - Recently, you created 28 Clothing, a fashion brand. What is your relationship with this sector?
Louis Tomlinson - I've always had a very funny relationship with fashion. Without a doubt, I'm interested in clothes, I've always been. Since I was young. But there is a level of haute couture that goes far beyond my understanding.
You know, I like to dress well. The brand is something I've always wanted to do. It is also intertwined with one of my [greatest] passions, football.
Football and fashion have been connected since the game was a game. People's fashion in the stands and everything else...
I think it's a very interesting thing and, for sure, a culture in which I was already inserted when I was younger. So, the brand helps me tell my story.
g1 - You once mentioned that you felt a little uncomfortable and more competitive at the beginning of your solo career. You said you were a little upset because you kept comparing your level of success with that of the other members of One Direction. Do you still feel that way?
Louis Tomlinson - No, I don't feel like it. Really. But I think that anyone - and obviously, there won't be many people who can identify with it - but anyone who has gone through a similar situation...
Being in a band and leaving on your own will always make your only reference be to compare yourself with other members. That's literally all you have.
I think it's a matter of maturity, actually. It took me a long time to look at it for what it was. Because that's where petulance begins. You start to think: 'If they're getting this, why can't I do it?'. And that becomes a little toxic.
Unfortunately, this is the nature of the music industry. It is naturally competitive. We are all competing for spots.
But now I see it in a very different way. And as I said, this requires maturity. I also needed to succeed on my own to be able to get through this. To overcome this.
Now, this comes back as I feel a confidence in saying these things.
Oh, and just to reiterate, because it's important: while I felt competitive, or more competitive than I am today, it wasn't like I wasn't immensely proud of everything the boys were doing.
It was more about reflecting on my own situation. Just about thinking: 'Oh, I wish I had a little of that'.
Now, I feel in a very, very, different place. And it's a nicer thing to feel, because being very competitive isnât always the nicest feeling.
g1 - I imagine you hear questions like this all the time, right? Does it bother you?
Louis Tomlinson - Yes, it's okay. As I mentioned before, I understand the obvious public interest in One Direction. That's obvious. And you know, I appreciate that these things are interesting. I suppose [that they are].
g1 - Louis, many fans believe in the conspiracy theory that youâre dating Harry Styles, even though you describe this story as ridiculous. Why is this conspiracy so famous?
Louis Tomlinson - What I realized a few years ago is that there is nothing I can say, there is nothing I can do to stop those who believe in this conspiracy. They are so connected with what they believe they will not see the truth for what it actually is. I'm sure many people look and find all these little conspiracies that happen in life interesting.
I would be lying if I said it doesn't annoy me a little, but it's the nature of the work.
There are times when it gets very personal. I have my son, Freddie. He's the most important person in my life. And occasionally, [these theories] end up addressing things that are kind of unfair.
That's what we have now. There's nothing I can do about it. Nothing I can say to stop people from inventing what they want to invent. So, so be it.
g1 - Finally, what is your favorite song at the moment and why?
Louis Tomlinson - My favorite album is Paolo Nutini's last. It's great, amazing. He's an amazing singer, maybe he's my favorite singer. It's indeed an inspiring album.
And favorite music... I can't remember the name, but it's from The Libertines, a band I've liked since I was young.

Hey there, I love your translations and all the work you do. Did you learn Japanese or are you a native speaker? I would love some tips on how to get started for a complete beginner like me. I hope one day I can be fluent enough to read manga lol.
Ahh thank you!!
I'm not a native speaker, I just learned as much needed to read manga lol. There are some vague grammatical similarity between Japanese and my native language which might've helped a bit, but I still extensively google every time I encounter new words so it often takes really long for me to read something;;
I can provide some suggestion for beginners though, mostly my personal methods. Reminder that this is just for reading manga!
1. Enrich vocabulary
To improve listening skills: anime. Shonen anime has simple sentences so try paying attention to sentence structures, verbs and tense along with vocabulary. The manga you want to read will likely have similar words (better if the same series).
2. Learn Kana

There's one video I randomly found on my feed that made me learn kana (katakana and hiragana) alphabets. I don't think I would've learned to read if not for this video because it makes the letters easily digestible:
youtube
Learning kana alphabets is unskippable. These two steps alone would help you to read shonen manga by yourself.
I'm specifying shonen because it's aimed at younger people so each kanji has reading aid texts called "furigana". Basically, each kanji's pronunciation is written in hiragana letters beside it. They bother when you try to scan the image but helps in manual reading.

For example, you may not recognize (green text) èŸČć Ž. But it has furigana (blue text) "ăźăăă" (no-u-e-n) written beside it, you'll recognize the word "nouen" from your vocabulary which means farm in Japanese. (page from The Promised Neverland manga, nouen is a frequently used word in the series)
3. Getting used to reading
After learning kana alphabets, as a beginner I used to work with pen and paper. I would write an entire sentence in English pronunciation first and then read the meaning. It helped me to separate each word (because JP doesn't have space between them.)

Sometimes I used to loudly read the English pronunciation for Google translate's speech recognition so it can translate the sentence for me.
Speaking of Google translate,
3. Applying Tools
Download Google translate app's old version (2020-2021 versions should be good enough) where you can scan a page, then switch off the app's auto update. It's an essential tool that (fortunately) works best for Kanji translation. If you're relying on auto translation, ignore furigana (the small texts) entirely, let it read Kanji.
Sometimes the scanning function can't distinguish vertical and horizontal texts. That's why learning to read by yourself is essential.
Now you're set, the rest is up to practice! When you start learning you'll want to read more to test yourself. And when you read, you get better. Hopefully you'll be able to read hand-written texts and recognize frequently used Kanji after practicing.
The complex/formal sentneces can easily translated via Google translator/DeepL/ChatGPT. But they need some human assistance. Without context they can't correctly interpret pronouns and sometimes you have to cut a bulk of texts into smaller parts.
A manga translation doesn't need to be 1:1. Recently I'm more flexible to suit a sentence closer to natural English than sticking to literal meaning. My English isn't the best either so I have to compensate đ€§

Devout Christian (A Fyodor X F!Reader)
Contains sexual content, minors dni Warnings: piv sex, creampie, oral sex (male receiving), bible talk, marriage, talk of murder and torture, pregnancy, Fyodor is hopelessly in love. (let me know if i missed anything pls) (also, any Russian I use, I have already learned because im learning Russian, and not through the incorrectness of google translate)
Fyodor was a man of God. He went to church weekly, studied his bible daily, and y'know, tried to wipe the smudge known as sinful people from the planet. But not all people were sinful, right? Surely some people were innocent? Wrong. Even Fyodor wasn't free of sin, but he acted like he was. He had murdered people, tortured people, made people beg for their lives while he manipulated them with his beautifully strung up lies. However. He was also a victim of lust, overwhelming lust for his beautiful bride to be, Y/N. Yes, he knew he couldn't fully have her *yet*. Which is how the current situation came to be. Fyodor sitting in front of his monitors panting, head thrown back, while his little fiancĂ© had her lips wrapped around his dick, his tip brushing the back of her throat while her eyes were glossy and tearful. Her eyes were filled with love nonetheless. Love for her soulmate, the man she could call her own. Fyodor. Fyodor never lasted long and found himself releasing his thick seed down her throat, groaning as the pleasure overtook him. After Y/N swallowed his seed and he came down from his high, Fyodor grabbed her by her armpits, lifting her up and into his lap where he held her close. Warm. They were both so, so, warm in each others arms. ~~~ A few months later Fyodor was dressed in a marvelous white suit with a red tie as he stood waiting for his darling Y/N to walk down the aisle. As she strode down the short isle of the old church she noticed the few guests in the front pew. Nikolai. Sigma. Y/N knew Nikolai was there as some kind of security so to speak, and Sigma was there as a friend to her. She turned her eyes to the old priest, his eyesight had gone many moons ago, so they had no need to worry about him giving descriptions to anyone who may ask around. And finally, her eyes met Fyodor's. His dark purple eyes filled with love as he looked back into her love filled E/C orbs. She knew the things he'd done, but she loved him. There was no manipulation in their relationship, it was always based around trust, love, and God. As wicked as it was. They said their vows, slipped the rings on each others fingers and just stared at each other. Staring like the other hung the moon and the stars. And finally with the last words of the priest, their lips met each others. It was not hungry or chaste, but deep, long, and passionate. After a few moments they broke the kiss and were brought back into the 'real world' as Nikolai was clapping and cheering loudly, Sigma quietly clapping next to him. Y/N smiled and giggled a little at the jesters enthusiasm, she was glad that she had people who supported her and Fyodor's relationship. Fyodor himself had a small smile on his face, as he held Y/N's hand, taking in her dress. A beautiful white dress, simple, not puffy nor skin tight. It made her look like an angel in his eyes. His angel. His wife. ~~~ When the couple got back to their home that night they were greeted by their adorable black cat, the cat never officially got a name. she was just... Cat. or ĐșĐŸŃĐșа (Cat) , as Fyodor called her. "ĐŃĐ±ĐŸĐČŃ (Love) , why don't you go get changed and wait in the bedroom for me?" Fyodor asked. Y/N knew what he was insinuating and went to their shared bedroom. Finally. They were finally married. Fyodor came to the bedroom after a few minutes, he had given the cat food and put the clothes bags that held the suit and wedding dress away. He was in awe to see Y/N sitting on the edge of their bed, completely naked. She was messing with her fingers, it was obvious she was nervous. "My dear, please don't be nervous. I'll take care of you", Fyodor said as he walked up to Y/N and held her hands in his. She nodded at him, giving a small smile as he let go of her hands and stripped of his own clothing.
When he was done Y/N raked her fingers gently over his chest. "I love you, Mrs. Dostoevsky" Fyodor whispered out before claiming her lips in a passionate kiss. This kiss had some shared hunger unlike the kiss they shared at their wedding service. Fyodor gestured for Y/N to lay down, and when she did he got some pillows under her head and some to help support her neck. She was comfortable. "Thank you Fyo", she said, adjusting slightly to get the pillows to lay comfortably under her.
Fyodor gently climbed over her, continuing their kissing, the kisses were getting hungrier, pent up lust bubbling to the surface, almost boiling. Fyodor ran his hands gently all over Y/N's body. Her face Her neck Her chest Her belly And slowly moved to move her thighs apart, properly setting his legs between her spread legs. His kisses moved down her body the way his hands had, leaving markings and paying attention to her breasts, lightly nibbling her nipples. She let out breathy gasps as he worked his way kissing and nibbling over her skin. He made a point to move his right hand down between her legs drawing circles over her clit while she whines in pleasure at the stimulation.
His mouth went back to sucking on her nipples while he continued to play with her clit. After a few minutes he looked up at her and took his mouth off of her nipple. "I am going to finger you, I will start with one finger, and I will go up to there as you get used to it. Tell me if it hurts and I'll stop.", he told her, voice barely above a whisper. She nodded in return.
Y/N whines as Fyodor slipped a finger into her tight walls, he kisses her nose and jaw and starts to pump his finger gently in and out. In and out. After about 10 minutes of this he had three fingers buried in her tight cunt, pumping them at a medium pace while she moaned and whined when he crooked them and hit her sweet spot.
He slowly withdrew his fingers, "Are you ready my love?", he asked as he looked deep into her eyes and kissed her collar bone. "I... I think so", Y/N responded, her eyes slightly glassy from getting lost in the earlier stimulation. Fyodor slowly moved down her body as he lifted up his upper body to watch as he aligned with her entrance.
He slowly pushed the tip of his length into her tight walls, he wasn't very girth, but he was longer than average. As he pushed the head in Y/N gripped his arms tightly, nails digging into his skin, not breaking it though. "Shshshhh love, it's okay. Breath", he told her as he stopped pushing in and kissed her a few times on her face, neck, chest, and stomach.
After a few minutes of getting used to the stretch of his tip, he continued pushing into her, she but her bottom lip between her teeth. It hurt. But it wasn't as bad since Fyodor gave her time to adjust every small bit he pushed in. He could see a small amount of blood as it slightly stained the white sheets beneath them, and he could see it on his length. Not that he minded a little blood. After a few reassuring kisses and I love you's, Fyodor began slow and shallow thrusts, they both gasped and groaned. Fyodor rambling about how good she was doing, how divine she felt, how she was an angel, *his* angel, and how good of a girl she is. Fyodor went back to circling her clit while he picked up his pace. Y/N whined out as he sped up, the pain melting away into incomparable, divine pleasure. She and Fyodor were finally together. Finally one. After a few minutes Fyodor's thrusts grew erratic, his hips snapping into Y/N's/ He was close, but she was too. Y/N lifted her legs and wrapped them around Fyodor's hips, both moaning at the new, deeper angle. "F-Fedya, I-I..." Y/N started, breaking into a moan before she could say more. "Me t-too, my love. Let's ~ngh~ cum together", Fyodor replied. A few moments later, both let out loud moans as they came together. Y/N's walls clamping tightly around Fyodor's length while he continued to fuck his seed into her. Fyodor collapsed onto her chest a few moments later, totally spent and exhausted. They laid there and held each other, not bothering to move as they basked in each others presence. ~~~ A few months later Y/N was looking through Fyodor's bible, a red book with a gold cross. Every page had notes scribbled into them, almost all of them in Russian as the bible was also in Russian. She read a few of the things he wrote as she picked up a little Russian from her husband, and there, written in black ink, was a few words on lust, and the long wait between engagement and marriage. She thought it was sweet as she held her stomach. The same stomach where their heir grew. ~The end~ (Feel free to make a request!)

hi. i had a very similar experince to trying to look through the code camp scams and everything online and not living near anything useful. if you can find an online real college thats what i did, granted its a community college and an associates but. other than that, don't sleep on utilizing chatgpt to teach you. thats how i learn all of my material. you can ask it questions or say "can you teach me about x", and if you dont like its response you can say things like "make that more simple" or "make that interactive". but helpful tip, all programming languages basically do the same things and work in very, very similar ways. if you just learn the fundamentals of programming you can just translate that to any language. in my opinion, the basics to learn are: the structures of programming (sequential, conditional, iterative), variables, datatypes (integer, string, float, etc)(in python those are it), conditional statements(these are those if-else things you see), iterative aka loops(do..while, for x in list, do until, etc), functions(keep em one purpose), passing data. i would say these are the fundamentals. every language does it (besides html bc thats not a programming language but just a mark up language), so once you know about the conditonal structure for example, just find out "how do i use this in x language". if you are learning python now, its a great language to learn about programming and you've probably realized by now that people most often use it in an object oriented way, but you don't have to and don't have to learn about classes or objects if you don't have the fundamentals down yet. i hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to ask me
Oh I 100% agree with this advice. After looking for a long, long time, I realised the most legitimate courses were from 'real' colleges and education suppliers that offered 'brick n mortar' schooling as well as e-learning.
I'm definitely going to utilise the free resources online and then work towards building a profile and generally seeing what the jobs online look for and work towards that alongside the usual path of learning :)
Also, I love how supportive folk generally are in this area of learning. I knew it would be competitive, especially when it comes to getting a job in a year or so...but seeing folk lift each other up instead of put each other down is heart-warming on so many levels. It makes me think I've found my correct career path :)

Hello! I was recently reached out to by Turan, and I would love to work with her, but I have absolutely no clue where to start. I've done some research on the Etruscan pantheon and the civilization, but I have no clue where to start with worshiping Turan. Any tips? Thank you!
Unfortunately, we know very little about Etruscan religious practices, so my best advice is to take what you already know and construct a practice from that, filling in whatever feels best/right to you when you don't have anything else to go off of. It can be easy to get stuck in the research rabbit hole and while research is important, at some point you do need to just start doing the thing. You can continue to modify as you find what works for you and the aiser and as you continue to learn more.
Especially if this is your first time practicing polytheism, I would recommend starting small and simple at least at first. You can always add more later or do more when you have time and energy. Like most Mediterranean polytheistic religions, offerings are important(1). I suggest at least establishing a goal offering schedule. You don't have to keep it all the time, but I've found having a goal of say I'm going to offer something to Menrva every Wednesday is a lot easier for me to keep in mind and do than I'm going to offer to Menrva every so often.
A wide range of consumable offerings were offered, and they could be burned, eaten(2), or buried(3). I typically eat mine, as that's what I can do and works well with my preexisting Kemetic practice. Libations are also a good option they can be poured into the ground (research if you're offering something other than water though) and sink libations are a good simple and discreet option, sag dab saar has a good post on them here. Votive offerings were also quite popular(4) and Turan was one of the deities we know they were given to(5). However, these may be difficult to do as a modern worshiper.
I do try to face east when I make offerings to them, as the east seems to be a preferred direction in altar placement and to have been seen as a generally favorable region. (6)
Divination is quite important to the aiser(7), so I do recommend researching and working on becoming comfortable with at least one method of it if you aren't already. Unfortunately I can't offer a lot of advice there as that's something I'm working on myself.
If you haven't already I would recommend checking out the Rasenna polytheism carrd especially their resources section. It has a lot of great information, and many of the books they have are really hard/expensive to get otherwise. The people who run the carrd also run a Discord server which you could also find useful.

Hello people or even better: Simblrs! (I just discovered this word)
My name isn't Bika, but you can call me that or Bia. I am an artist and I have always been an artist, I was born an artist and I will die an artist. I'm 22 years old and I live in Brazil. I'm bi or pan, whatever you prefer to call it, as long as you know that I don't discriminate, I hate everyone equally!
I've been playing The Sims since I was 5 years old, I met watching people play, I fell in love right away and until today I don't know why. I've always played to escape reality, to escape my disturbing brain and be able to listen to the silence for a few hours.
Despite having a career of 17 years (lol) I am very young in many things. For example, I started using mods last year (2022), I found out about animations/poses and etc just 3 months ago, I also found out about the world of The Sims or the Simblers just a month ago.
I love creating things, I love drama, I love romance, I love details, I love life is strange vibes, I love clichés and I love important moments. So, expect to see everything here.
Feel free on my tumblr to be friends or enemies if you want, to comment, to support. I'm a very open person, I love receiving tips, criticism, learning about new things, so feel free to help me whenever you want!
This text was made in the google translator and badly corrected by me, so forgive me. My english is very good but it's insecure lol
OlĂĄ, pessoas ou melhor: Simblrs! (acabei de descobrir essa palavra)
Meu nome nĂŁo Ă© Bika, mas podem me chamar assim ou de Bia. Sou artista e sempre fui artista, nasci artista e morrerei artista. Tenho 22 anos e moro no Brasil.
Eu amo criar coisas, eu amo drama, eu amo romance, eu amo detalhes, eu amo life is strange vibes, eu amo clichĂȘs e eu amo momentos importantes.

What would be for tips on designing characters?
This is kind of a complicated topic.
I think the first tip is to identify what the character design is for. like is it for a school project, a prompt, a parody of something else (and is said parody meant to be a tribute, or satirical), etc. Is the purpose going to be making them heroic, cute, cool, sexy, intimidating, scary, goofy, etc. Is this just for fun, experimenting, or something to represent yourself? Is this a member of a species/cast of characters, and if so, what traits are common to the species/cast, and what traits are unique to them? Knowing that beforehand can help set your expectations, and give you some direction to work towards (or away from? if you're really trying to experiment...)
The next step I'd usually suggest doodling ideas off the top of your head. it's unlikely to be "good" but it does help establish your current perspective that's been built up subconsciously over the years from exposure to media and your own tastes. It's a good point of reference to start off with imo. Sometimes that might be all you need, if you really like what you came up with and it speaks to you in some way.
Typically though, especially if you have a specific goal in mind or are learning character design or are trying to venture out of your comfort zone, it won't look that good/unique yet. That's when you'd begin researching: take a few characters that come to mind that fit your idea of goals established. If you want to make a cool character, what are traits that stick out to you as "cool"? Is it certain accessories, their shape, personality, or what they do? Those are things worth considering. If you have an art style established, how can you translate those aspects? If there's real-world or other references you can bring in, that's always good too, and has a better chance of coming up with something that feels more personal/unique.
Along with researching is when you'd start experimenting with this stuff. Trying out different body/head proportions, eye shapes, how hair looks. A really important thing to consider is how often you expect to draw this character. If it's something you know you'll draw hundreds or thousands of times, then you really need to weigh in what parts of them are fun to draw versus not fun, whether you can simplify parts of them into easier shapes, is the difficult aspect something you're willing to get better at overtime, what aspects lend itself to a wider range of expression (unless the goal is to make them NOT expressive, or w/e).
This is also where I'd start thinking more about stuff like personality and how they think. Maybe you have an idea already that's part of your overall goal, but now you should be trying to figure out how to convey that in the design. What's their history? What people do they interact with regularly and how do they interact with them? What's their long term and short term goals? Who is their favorite my little pony character? You don't HAVE to answer all of these, and you definitely don't have to commit to them forever, but it's the kind of stuff that will help inform your design more, and maybe even aid in world-building (if that's part of your goal).
I think the final "tests" would be trying to make some kind of reference stuff, arriving at a consistent draft of your findings. This can involve doing some turnarounds, seeing what they look like at different angles, or minor details. Expression tests involving the face, or body.
If it feels like something that appeals to you and hits on the goals you've established, then I say that's good enough... but I also think you should be open to experimenting on them further too, when inspiration hits. Character design is something most people change their tastes or get better at, and it's good to be open-minded about trying new things to see if that works out. It can be as complex as a whole redesign or just changing the color scheme. And while I described the process linearly, sometimes you'll get to the reference part and realize the goal itself ought to be changed. That's fine too, it's good to bounce back and forth all the steps if that's what helps you create something you like.
Of course we don't really design stuff in a vacuum and post stuff for others to look at, so I think another important aspect to temper your expectations is to know that not every character is created equal. Your concept could be an android-samurai that is haunted by math problems and maybe you can pull off that concept the best anyone ever could... it's not likely to get as many notes as "bunny girl with big boobs #35279". That doesn't mean you failed, just that your potential audience will be more niche, and likely their connection to a character idea, if presented well, might be deeper.
Of yeah, presentation. People aren't going to always know every single aspect of your character at a given moment: it's good to keep in mind what the themes of a character are and at least try to be consistent with that. It's totally okay to draw them in silly memes all you want, but don't blame other people if they have trouble taking them seriously when you suddenly put them in a dramatic trauma web series (you would have to pace your transition into it thoughtfully). You should try to present them in ways that make sense for their character. But sometimes you discover that maybe you don't like that anymore... it's fine to shift them into a new direction, I think that's part of the artistic discovery process.
That's all I can think right now that's broad. I think anything else is more just specific to my own preferences.

Hi!! Got excited when I saw your comment on the Queer Christians unite post, about sharing christianity through a queer lense!! Exactly what I've been looking for as a bi Christian looking for the vouch-for-queer-community-through-the-bible :):) Any tips?
hi so sorry for taking so long to answer!! this ask makes me so happy:) iâm answering this one on this acct but just btw i have a religion sideblog @blessedjudas which is what i usually post all my christianity stuff on!
my biggest tip is to look up churches in your area, find a queer-affirming one (they will usually say it on a website/have a flag in front of the church), and join a group there. my church in san diego is AMAZING and honestly the diocesan events and youth group in hs saved my life and relationship with god!! truly i doubt i would still be a christian if it wasnât for them!!
if you canât find a church community near you that is queer affirming, finding a community online is the next best thing!! just finding other people who are queer christians (and queer religious people in general) is the BEST thing you can do- it reminds you that queer christians exist!! and can love god fully!! without sacrificing any part of yourself!! and you also end up learning SO much from them. if you feel safe to do so, you can also try to create a group in your town!! iâm sure it would help other people in the area who might not feel comfortable being the first to reach out.
reading books is also great! there are so many that analyze the bible from a queer lens. here are just a few:
- called out by e carrington keith
-tenderness by eve tushnet
-god and the gay christian by matthew vines
- this i know by jim dant
-hearts ablaze by rolf nolasco
if you have instagram, following people on there is also such a comforting thing. some of my fav accts:
-belovedandqueer
-belovedarise
-marymagdalenestan
-liturgy (my old youth leader from hs/ms actually:))
-andhersaints (who also has a tumblr!! @and-her-saints )
-blackliturgies
-liberating_christianity
when you surround yourself with people who are deconstructing a very white, cishet pov of christianity, you start to realize how anti-jesus that rhetoric truly is. there are so many bible stories and quotes that just arenât even taught because they arenât deemed âimportantâ (they are). nowadays i read passages of the bible and find so much more LOVE in it than i used to, because iâve joined communities of people who truly care about love for the sake of love. once you realize itâs ok and holy to love always, you find so much more love in the bible in so many places!! (you also get a reality check on how flawed the bible can be, and how not everything should be taken literally as it was written by ancient human men in a different language. doing research to find true translations is also a great, if difficult, thing to dig into!!) it just makes me feel so much more connected to jesus and god and the holy spirit, and that feeling of true love is what keeps my faith.
when i was younger i kind of felt like i shouldnât take the bible very seriously at all because it was so fallible- but now i view it differently, because the more i studied it with other queer people, the more i realized how truly wonderful it is and how warped it had become in translation by american christianity. context is sosososo key when reading such ancient texts and it should not be taken lightly!! pretty much all of those passages that alt-right christians use only make sense in certain context or have been mistranslated. i view the bible as a diary of christians in the past, and in a way i find that even holier. itâs a treasure and the gospel feels even more real to me because of that!!
things just started to make so much more sense when i looked at the bible with a queer eye. when two women who lived together are blessed, that turns from a seemingly pointless story into a story about a romantic couple being blessed by the lord. when itâs mentioned that two men who live together are very close and do everything together, it makes so much more sense to think that they were together. everything just clicks into place! and it fits the image i have in my head of jesus so much better: someone who preached radical love and kindness of COURSE would never say it was a sin to love ANYONE, no matter who it is.
ok this was really long post and honestly i could go on for so much longer but i hoped this helps!! ily and if you have any other questions/musings feel free to ask!!â€ïž

Do u got any tips on learning like, legit history? I feel like I know very little about real history vs history taught to me in school. Is it worth trying to learn communist history in any big capacity?
i think most of the history we learn thru school is 'legit'. most of the bias i think comes thru what gets picked and what doesn't. idk, it's been a very long time since i was in school, so maybe it's worse now. but i feel like there are some subjects that touch on nationalist ideas and it should be obvious to take what they say with a grain of salt, to question if it's the whole story. or i guess if you come across any narratives that have a 'happily ever after' sorta vibe, uh, maybe there is some bullshit. but yeah i think even when they are feeding you nationalist bullshit it's generally still got some factual basis going on, they're just trying to twist it to make it look certain ways.
i think it's worth learning history in whatever capacity you can. but some people just aren't into it and that's fine. so don't feel you have to to qualify as a 'real communist' or w/e. i do think there can be too much focus on a sort of Team Red/Team Black sorta interest in history that happens a bit too frequently in communist circles.
as for like, how to approach it, wiki dives are a good place to start. the anarchist library has sections for various periods of history. im sure libcom has plenty of texts involving history. crimethinc does a bit of history once in a while. probably is gonna help to know a second language if you wanna get really deep in the weeds, as a lot of stuff related to the beautiful idea has happened outside the anglosphere, and no translations exist for a lot of works. can help set off a positive feedback loop, where your interest in history helps fuel your desire to learn the new language, and learning the new language helps you discover new parts of history that reignite the spark.
idk, with any luck this helps you whatsoever. good luck
