A broken arm and a heart that refuses to break

My name is Alaa. I was injured in the war on Gaza, with what was described as a minor injury.

One day during the war, while I was in the place I had fled to for safety, a missile hit the place where we were staying.

Miraculously, we survived, but I didn't, and my right hand was broken as a result.

The broken hand wasn't just a passing pain; it was an agony that permeated every detail of daily life. With every small movement, my body screamed in pain, but it wasn't just the physical pain that exhausted me; it was the lack of medical care, helplessness, and neglect.

The treatment journey was painful in itself. There was no modern equipment, no appropriate medications, and not even enough painkillers to relieve the excruciating pain.

I didn't just suffer from the brokenness; I suffered from the brokenness of the humanity around me, due to my inability to obtain the treatment I needed. This white bandage on my arm is not just a medical bandage; it is a small witness to a much greater tragedy.

This picture... despite all the pain, holds within it a glimmer of hope, because deep down, I believe that even broken bodies are capable of rising again and telling the world my story.

Hi all,

I don't typically do this sort of thing, but I felt the need to share this to a larger audience in hopes of finding some generous souls.

There's been a tragedy at my workplace, my coworker, Alex, recently lost her son in a hiking accident. He was missing for days until unfortunately they found his body at the bottom of a cliff. He had fallen and not survived. It's been hard on everyone but I simply cannot imagine what she's going through losing a child, especially around the holidays.

My other coworkers have put together a gofundme in hopes of taking some of that financial stress off of Alex's family's shoulders. If you guys would do me the favour of sharing this around and donating anything you can that would he much appreciated. Even just a dollar helps get towards the goal. These coworkers are like a second family to me, they're some of the most supportive and kind souls in my life, it would mean the world to me if they got some random kindness from strangers online to help ease the pain and financial burden this christmas.

I am Muhammad and my family consists of 4 people and I need to buy milk for my child Zuhair who was born in the war. Since his birth, I have not been able to buy him new clothes and I have had to borrow clothes from some friends for my child. Because of the war, I lost my job and I do not have the money now to get it back. I ask you to donate 10$$even a small amount to meet part of my family’s need. I can say that I am the breadwinner for my father and mother as well due to their old age and my father’s inability to work due to illness. Your donation🪙💸, my friend, will make my family happy."

The fact I am making another post like this is not lost on me. If anything, this should show the dire conditions these people, people, families, children, are in. Their very lives, and our future, are at constant risk. If you are like me and cannot help financially - I, for example, do not hold control over my finances and cannot donate- you can help by sharing,liking, or even make a post of your own. This is not me using a terrible situation for shares or likes or interacting, this is a genuine cry. On the internet, we have the chance to be interconnected.
