obm headcanons cuz why not
tags: pure family fluff! sibling shenanigans
when lucifer first brought a car in the devildom , despite their ages , levi and mammon would fight each other on who sits next to the drivers seat when lucifer drives. the rest of em would just get tucked in the backseat . more often than not , belphie usually ends up sprawled across everyone and sleeps there .
if beel (imagine human age 7-8 yrs) ever comes up with a school assignment which was due tomorrow , you bet it was mammon rushing out to buy supplies and burning the midnight oil while beel just sits on the countertop while mammon furiously writes and draws . bonus beel eating oreos and feeding mammon some while he is knee deep in papers and crayons.
levi's day to day wear is one fashion crime away from asmo taking him to majolish and redoing his whole wardrobe
speaking of which , when levi first started anime and cosplaying asmo used to help him out with make up and stuff , this is probably the reason why asmo became so good at makeup .
speaking of fashion sense , asmo is the first on the chart , mammon the second cuz he does modeling gigs at times , and third is lucifer . it is due to these three's combined efforts that the house of lamentation manages to look presentable at most of the times.
asmo tried to convince satan to wear both the sleeves of his jacket but to no avail.
during beel's fangol matches , you can see all seven of them at the bleachers sporting all the jerseys with beels number on it , with tiny flags and face paints . lucifer won't admit it , but he cheers the loudest during every climax of the match.
after the matches , its a family routine for them to head to hells kitchen for an unorthodox dinner having cheeseburgers and milkshakes .
belphie lost his aux cord privileges at the car due to his playlist solely being emo kid music and the devildom equivalent of mcr .
one time , diavolo convinced mammon to sneak him out of the castle for a night out because he wanted to see might life at devildom instead of being stuck back there . they were found later at 6 am at a motel , hungover due to cinnamon rolls , empty pizza cartons and cans of soda . it was barbatos and lucifer who found them and thankfully the issue didn't get much publicity . diavolo and mammon have become more sneakier in getting out , the duo that you didn't expect but now you have seen it , it can't be ignored .
levi has an online friend who likes sebastian from black butler a lot , both of them are practically best friends . but levi doesn't know his online bestie is barbatos who secretly manages a pinterest , tumblr and ao3 account in his free time . pinterest is where he gets his crochet ideas.
one time luke fell asleep at one of diavolo's formal galas , and it was beel who carried him like a baby back to purgatory hall .its said that luke unknowingly snuggled up to beel but he denies it .
when lucifer was an angel , simeon and him were really close . simeon notes the fact that when lucifer was first introduced to his baby brother mammon , he cried a bit at the thought of him growing up .
sometimes when belphie can't sleep , he goes to levi's room as most of the time , levi is busy playing with his console and belphie just ends up sleeping in his bathtub .
satan used to love it when mammon used to read him bedtime stories when he was younger . him and asmo used to share a bed and it was their favorite part of their bedtime routine .

The concept of internet safety is lost on you. How else could you explain sharing a hotel room with someone you’d never met before in real life?
Perhaps, you should retrace your steps. See how you’ve managed to find yourself in such a dangerous position, the front door locked and your body pinned to the bed.
Making friends as an adult is difficult. On par with counting every grain of rice in a field, you’d say.
You underestimated how easy maintaining friendship was when younger, third places like school, daycares, extra-curricular activities demanding your presence, inadvertently strengthening your social life. Not that you were the most social, you had a hard time approaching people actually, but maybe that was a part of your charm. Bringing you out of your shell, like all your friends did before your bond was cemented in tree trunks or sandy beaches. University is the last place you take this ease for granted, exposed to all different kinds of people and relationships, some platonic and not-so much. Either way, despite the barge of assignments and countless nights out, you’d make it into adulthood relatively unscathed.
Adulthood, however, doesn’t turn out as you expect. You’d been sold a dream, one eight-year old you envisioned dabbling with the stars accompanied by a lavish life and all the ice-cream you could get your hands on. Unfortunately, no star would be rubbing shoulders with you anytime soon and any that would, you’d have to pay a large sum of money to even see. A large sum you did not have. So, yeah. Just that, toxic work culture, endless bills and a whole host of other obligations linger above your head like a grey cloud.
What helps is finding the small joys in life. Slow mornings when the city is asleep, the scent of coffee at the crack of dawn, the sunshine against your skin, friends who despite their busy schedules carve out time to see you. All pieces of your life that make it worth living. Music is in there too, the art of melodies and lyrics strung together having the strange ability to carry you throughout even your worst days.
Your moods refuse to stick to a certain genre and in the midst of dark afternoons and frost covered roads, you find yourself gravitating towards alternative music. Slow, steady and aching. Like how your life moves with the severe lack of sun. It’s not a genre your circle of friends dabble in as much as you do. It’s to be expected, anyone who deviates from a standard of ‘normalcy’ was outcasted, one too many examples found in your high school days where kids got called weird and satanic for wearing a Green Day t-shirt to school. The thought makes you laugh now, but back then, when all that matters is fitting in, it was sad and suffocating. Seeing a part of yourself denied before your very eyes. Sometimes you’d hang out with those kids, bond over your collection of CDs and even go to a few gigs together. However, when Monday came around and they’d approach you and your friends, raving about the concert - you froze. Confronted into either owning yourself and being outcasted like the rest of the emo kids or ignoring them, deny yourself for the sake of social standing.
You pretend like they’ve grown two heads, feigned confusion knitting your eyebrows together while your friends laugh and hurl insults at someone who you considered a friend - a better one than the ones at your side. And yet, you let the laughter continue, a coward with its tail between its legs as you depart, the taste of iron on your tongue.
Maybe this is payback for those poor decisions. A dead-end job, a successful but shitting ex and enough inner turmoil to make a therapist clutch their pearls.
You abandon those friends when you get to university, getting better ones that wouldn’t make someone feel small due to their own insecurities. You make amends with the emo kids, your apology marking the true end of your friendship. You search online spaces for like-minded people, showing up as yourself and being embraced as. Everyone in the Reddit community is unbelievably sweet, sharing their music recommendations, concert wishlists and pictures of their cats. Some members, including yourself, form a closer bond, taking your conversation to a Discord server that becomes your escape in a way. A channel for heartfelt discussion that extends past your love for music. You’re not as active due to work obligations, but whenever you pop up, one member in particular always greets you with a warmth like no other.
Linkin.parkjisung is his user, his icon the rock and roll hand sign over his face. Likes Blur, Green Day, Oasis and of course, Linkin Park. He’s like you, dips in and out, types a few responses before he’s gone again. It’s a scenario where other members grow closer, and your anxiety around speaking in the group begins. They’re already close, it seems almost futile to interrupt, right?
What if you’re ignored? What if you’ve missed your window of opportunity?
It’s a line of thinking that crosses your mind when you send in an apology for being inactive, moments later your phone pinging with a notification.
Linkin.parkjisung: no need to apologize! life gets busy for everyone, myself included. hope you’re doing ok (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) .ᐟ.ᐟ
Other group members echo his message, sending in their own real-life obligations that the group ends up bonding over, complaining of rising car insurance and overly demanding bosses.
It’s the start of it all, really. That one message, a hand extended to yours that breaks you out of your shell and kick starts your friendship with Jisung. From that day onwards, you move more freely throughout the server, making good friends with everyone but better friends with Jisung. Somewhere down the line, you end up privately messaging each other. What starts out as simply giving each other music recommendations (since he apparently always loves the songs/artists you send into the server) becomes sneaking into the bathroom during a busy family reunion to call Jisung about how your grandmother wore a catsuit to impress her ex, your grandfather. You grow that close, no details spared on life events. How else is there space for secrecy when you’re video calling drunk, watching festival performances of Fontaines D.C.?
In any case, you’re close. You text everyday and call every week like clockwork, namely because you live some hours away from each other. During your calls, he’s shrouded in a low darkness, self conscious of the way he looks, he says. You’re unconvinced, slivers of his features in photos he sends you with his roommates’ three cats or on call saying otherwise. Regardless, you let it slide because Jisung becomes more than his face - he becomes a source of comfort, someone who makes you laugh as much as brings you calm, someone you slowly can’t imagine your days without. In hindsight, this is where your romantic feelings develop. And with convenient timing too because one of the bands you recommended to Jisung, Wunderhorse are on tour, set to perform in a city two hours from the both of you.
“Tickets are going onsale at 10 am on Thursday,” Jisung murmurs, the clicks of his cursor coming through your laptop speaker. “Remember to set your alarm.”
“Will do. Lemme set a remin-” opening up your calendar, you see an unwelcome surprise. “Fuck.”
“What’s up?” Jisung’s voice echoes with sincere concern.
“I forgot I have a shift that day,” you groan, already knowing by the time your lunch break came, the event would be sold out. “We’re understaffed as is, so there’s no way I can get someone to cover for me.”
A deep hum vibrates from Jisung’s chest, a few more clicks of his cursor sounding before he asks in a small voice. “Well, I could just get the tickets for us both.”
“You would?”
“Yeah, I’m meant to be working from home that day anyways. And not to flex, but my internet’s pretty decent.”
You laugh. “Is that for your job or your crippling gaming addiction?”
“A bit of both,” he chuckles back, the sound blooming a warmth of happiness in your chest. “Working in CompSci has its perks.”
“So, I’m finding out,” you smile, an underlying layer of discomfort shifting you against your desk chair. “Are you sure, though?”
“Of course. I’d hate if you lost out on this knowing I could’ve done something to help,” Jisung explains. “You were the one to introduce me to them anyways. Plus we’d have a better chance of sticking together in the pit if we get them together, right?”
You swallow a lump in your throat, something taking flight in your airy chest. “Yeah, you’re right. Just send me your bank details so I can transfer you the day of.”
“Coming right up!” he jokes, and you laugh, however lame he claims himself to be.
On Thursday, he sends you a photo of his solid black high-tech set-up, a PC he’s constructed himself with more monitors than you can count. The side of his face is included in the picture, silky black hair, a brown eye and a beauty mark on his cheekbone you dream of kissing later that night. You find out he secures the tickets on your lunch break, your debt towards him being booking the hotel you’d be staying at. Due to the limited funds you’re working with, you end up getting a shared room, an option that gives him pause before he agrees in a tremored voice. You’re a bit apprehensive yourself, but you booked for two beds, so it should be fine. If worst comes to worst, and something happens between you two – like him turning out to be a sexist neckbeard loser he couldn’t take no for an answer - you’d sleep in your car (or kick him out, actually). At any rate, you had options (and a friend tracking your live location).
In no time, weeks fly by and Wunderhorse drops their latest album. It’s the best thing you’ve experienced since sliced bread, an opinion Jisung shares as you two listen to it over call late one Friday night, speaking about your favourite songs amongst other things. You don’t know how it starts, perhaps it’s a lyric that sticks out to him that he mentions or something else entirely, but suddenly, you’re reminded of high school you. How deeply you wanted to be accepted by others, and how that satisfaction depended on the person you got it from. That you preferred conformity instead of individuality, because being seen with popular shallow kids meant something to you.
“I wasn’t a good person in high school,” you find yourself admitting, your body hollowed out with guilt. Regret like ash on your tongue. “I hurt people because I valued other people’s opinions over my own. I know I was young, but-”
“You said it yourself: you were young,” Jisung comments, the serious intent in his voice catching you off guard. “The fact you recognise your behaviour and feel remorse for it shows how much you’ve grown. I mean, high school can be very unforgiving because nobody really knows who they are or what the fuck they’re doing, so it’s only reasonably to make choices you may regret. What’s important, I think, is how you’ve chosen to move forward,”
“You said it yourself, you’ve apologised to those you hurt. Not many, if any person in your position, would do the same, which shows how much you genuinely care to make things right,” you sniff, vision blurring with tears of relief and sadness. “So, if you ask me, I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself. It’s all a learning curve, you were doing what was best to protect yourself then. And now, you’re a better and kinder person because of it.”
Another time you should’ve known you’d fallen for him. Yet, you remain none the wiser. All the way until concert day, getting off work early that Friday afternoon and making the journey down to the bright city lights of Seoul. Everything twinkles and dazzles, a 180 from your modest living in your hometown. You suppose your excitement for the concert has some role in this too, but considering the lack of vibrancy in your life, you allow yourself to sink your teeth into this. Feel the goosebumps against your skin, the lightness in your limbs and the uptake in your heartbeat.
You check into the hotel first since Jisung has a last-minute team meeting at work, setting yourself up on your side of the cosy room of wooden and white hues. As you slip on your Hello Kitty headband to do skincare, a knock rasps against the door, audible above the sound of your music.
With furrowed eyebrows, you approach the door, revealing a sight that stops your heart in its tracks.
On the other side of the door is who you should’ve expected: Jisung. What you don’t expect, however, is his sharp features, black smooth hair with matching formal clothing to contrast so beautifully with his porcelain skin. The dark, ocean blue contacts he wears with a pretty pink lip tint. Not to mention that beauty mark you’ve been thirsting over for the past few months? Yeah, that’s all in eye-view now, close enough to touch and it’s this fact that sends your brain into overdrive.
While you malfunction, Jisung dips his head, a large fist curled to his lips to hide his sheepish smile. Chuckles in a bit of an awkward and embarrassed way.
Oh my god?!
“Nice to finally meet you,” he greets, black leather overnight bag clutched to his side. A fluffy blue and pink keychain of Little Twin Stars hangs off the zip, a cute juxtaposition to his intimidating outfit. And height. God, he really wasn’t lying when he said he was nearly 6 ft.
“I texted you I’d arrived, but you hadn’t read them,”
A forceful blink out of your trance brings you back to reality, one where you’re not openly drooling over how handsome your internet best friend is. “Yeah, sorry. I was busy getting ready.”
“I figured so,” his eyes scan your clothes - your ripped baggy jeans, leather platform shoes amongst what you have on - and his lips curve, admiration in his eyes. “You look great.”
If there weren’t societal ideals of an inappropriate reaction to that compliment, you would’ve tattooed it to your forehead, or on your lower back. Maybe ripped off your shirt and kissed him before combusting because what do you mean, this very handsome man, thinks you look great?!
“Thank you,” you blush, your body running hot like a furnace. Even so, you decide to take advantage of the situation, leaning in for an embrace that he reciprocates as you mumble into his shoulder. “Nice to finally meet you too.”
The rest of the afternoon blurs, the few moments of scattered glances and awkward silence incomparable with the ease of conversation that flows between you once his favourite song, Poppy, comes on. Catching up to speed with each other’s day as you two get ready, it’s not lost on you how domestic the scene is - how familiar, or right it feels. Jisung, in all aspects of the word, is endearing - flustered by the compliments you send his way, brightening up at the new additions to the setlist and best of you, timid with pink cheeks when he hands over a ‘first meeting’ gift - an assortment of snacks, a Hello Kitty plushie and a card that makes you coo. It takes everything in you not to sink your teeth into him, overwhelmed by the sweetness that laces his actions and words, riding the high he and the music gives you as you make your way to the venue after you’re both finished.
Long lines snake around the arena, grey clouds permeating the area as rainfall clatters to the pavement. Jisung, ever so prepared, brings along an umbrella that you share, squeezing underneath so much you feel the warmth of Jisung through his bare, very defined bicep. How someone looks so good in a silver sequin top under a tattered sleeveless black vest is beyond you. Then again, him being single is beyond your comprehension too. Considering his calm and thoughtful demeanour, coupled with his good looks, you would’ve expected people lining up by the thousands to plead their case. However, whenever you two talked about this, he’d simply say his go-to phrase and change the topic, his phrase being:
“I’ve got my eye on someone. Just working up the courage to ask them out.”
Whoever managed to catch his eye, you’d thought to be lucky. Maybe they’d saved a small village in their past life because as people push when the doors open, Jisung shields you from any damage, reminding you how good of a romantic partner he could be. Especially so when you’re inside and he snaps all your photos, accompanying you to the bar and merch table where you get matching t-shirts before he keeps them with him so you’re free throughout the concert. Dimmed red lights and chatter fill the spacious hall, a flood of warm bodies surrounding you as you peer at the stage, the band all set up and ready to go come showtime. You sing along to the host of songs the venue plays beforehand, enough nudges in the shoulder to get Jisung to sing along and of course - of course - he has a beautiful voice too. At this point, you were convinced he either had a missing toe or had weird opinions about the order of cereal because the more you spent time with him, the more he shines in your eyes.
Eventually, the chatter dies down and all lights go off, screams rising through the crowd as Wunderhorse comes onto the stage. Buzzing at a frequency unheard of, you bounce off the balls of your feet, hand holding Jisung as you exclaim, “It’s them! It’s really them!”
Missing how flushed Jisung becomes at the contact, you sing with all your heart - offkey and all - to their opening song, Midas. The energy is through the roof, a dizzying world of flashing lights and music that retches the lyrics straight out of you. In a moment’s chance, Jisung and you turn to each other mid-song, smiles bright as the stage lights outline your damp faces, chest heaving with a mouthful of lyrics in their wake. It’s the happiest you’ve been, holding his hand like this, and as the night winds to simmer, you sway to slow songs and thank your lucky stars for finding your way back to this.
After the show, you two chatter with other adoring fans before trekking to your nearby hotel, stomachs growling for food. Jisung finds a great Chinese place that delivers until 2 am, a gesture you simper at, unaware he’d even remembered you’d liked the cuisine. At this point, you’re drained in the best possible way, a dull ache in your feet but riding a high of something you’ll remember forever.
Now, you’re all up to speed. Great. Let’s get back to your current dilemma.
Somehow, someway, your unlaced and stubborn platform shoes cause a stumble, one that Jisung tries to save you from but ends up caught in the mix. How, you might ask? Well, you’re not entirely sure but what you definitely know is that you’ve fallen on one of the beds, Jisung’s body caging yours as he braces his own fall. Face-to-face. With you.
Ok.
You’re close enough to share a breath, within reach to see his long lashes and shaky pupils that dart from your eyes to your lips, back to your eyes again. Suddenly, the room temperature dials to an unprecedented heat, walls closing in on you two as you lie in waiting. Waiting for the other to make their move. To lean in or pull away, heads or tails on a coin.
His phone rings, cutting through the tension-filled air with a knife. The moment, gone.
“You okay?” he rasps, a knit in his eyebrows as if he’s holding himself back. You blink wordlessly, your answer in an absent nod. “I’ll, uhm…get the food.”
It’s not a suggestion, nothing that you can object to, particularly when he’s long gone and you’re clutching at your chest, months of infatuation knocking the breath out of you.
When Jisung returns minutes later, you’ve turned the TV on, preparing to fill the silence if need be. It proves necessary, only groans of pleasure and compliments to the chef shared between you two as you eat your weight in noodles. Not much is said when you’re getting ready for bed either, brushing your teeth together as if you're a couple and settling into separate beds, all the lights turned off.
Still reeling for the fall, and convinced his shallow breaths allude to his slumber, you’re startled by the call of your name, head turning towards Jisung beside you.
“Yes?”
“You sure you’re ok?” he asks before clearing his throat. “That was…some fall.”
You can say that again.
“I’m ok,” you lie. You’re on high alert, frazzled at every end with a heart you’ve just realised longs for the man not even two metres away from you. “Are you?”
Silence. The only feedback you hear is the crinkle of his duvet as he shuffles in his bed.
“Ask me another question.”
You turn to him, shrouded in darkness. “Like what?”
He doesn’t speak again, lets the silence devour the space between you before he says. “Ask me about the person I’m interested in.”
Water that rivals the arctic pours down your back, a harsh call to reality as you remember. Right, he has someone he’s interested in. Someone who he’ll devout his time to, listen to their music recommendations and hold their hands at concerts. And you? Well, you’ll still be friends, just not as close. Maybe not even friends at all.
The thought closes an iron fist around your heart.
“Why haven’t you asked them out?” is what you manage, because it’s on your mind - what time and place he’ll find himself in when he confesses his feelings.
“Because I’m scared,” he admits, small and in a whisper. “Considering we met online, it’s kind of hard to gauge their interest or read any signs. You don’t give me much to work with,”
You still. “I don’t?’
“I mean, I haven’t been too obvious, but I’m crazy about you,” he confesses. “I love the light in your eyes and the kindness in your heart. You’re so deeply human and live life like it’s your first and last. There’s no one like you and I think the idea of knowing how special you are triggered my fear of rejection. Because what would my life be without watching festival performances drunk with you? What would it be if you didn’t laugh at my lame jokes and didn’t command my every thought?”
Jisung shuffles again, a flicker of dim light in between you two at a lamp source as he stares over at you, wholehearted and vulnerable. “It’d be an empty one - not worth living.”
Slowly, your body brings you upwards, the two of you hanging off the edges of your bed. So close if you’d reach out, your hands would touch.
“When?” you croak, unable to meet his eyes. “When did you…start feeling this way?”
His eyes lower, a slight curve to the corner of his lips. “Around November?”
Electricity zaps your back straight. Five months ago? “When we joined the server?”
“Shortly after that,” he admits, a coy grin breaking out against his flushed features. “I was having a really hard day and you’d recommend a song in the chat, Favourite by Fontaines DC, and said how nostalgic and hopeful it felt to you. I gave it a listen and…it was like a battery in my back. I cried, but I also smiled too because I understood what you meant by it all,”
He threads his fingers together, peering up with shining eyes as he adds, “it felt like a peak into your soul, and mine too….I think that’s where it started.”
Your hand finally reaches out, overlaying his as tears fill your sight. “You know you’re my favourite, right?”
“No one stood a chance after that drunk video of you singing along to Champagne Supernova,” you share a laugh, reminiscing of the video he accidentally sent into the server one December night. A die-hard Oasis fan till the end. “I mean it. There’s no one I’d want to spend my days with, listen to music with and discover all there is to life. No one but you.”
His bottom lip gives a wobble, hands unearthing from yours as his thumb grazes your knuckles, bringing the hand up in a searing kiss. One he looks you right in the eyes for as he says, “Can we push the beds together please?”
You bark out an unexpected laugh, fondness shaping your smile as you speak with all of your heart. “I would love nothing more.”

Online Harassment
Online harassment has become an increasingly pervasive issue, affecting individuals across all platforms. From subtle microaggressions to outright threats, harassment takes many forms, each with its own set of consequences. In this post, we'll break down the different types of online harassment, their impact, and what can be done to address them.
Important vocabulary: Misinformation is false or inaccurate information—getting the facts wrong. Disinformation is false information that deliberately intends to mislead—intentionally misstating the facts.
Let's start with what does not count as harassment:
What Doesn't Count as Harassment
Constructive Criticism: Offering feedback aimed at improving someone's work or behavior. For example, a manager providing an employee with feedback on how to improve their performance.
Disagreement or Debate: Engaging in a civil disagreement or discussion on a topic. For example, two colleagues having a heated but respectful debate about a work-related issue.
Enforcing Rules or Policies: Applying rules or policies in a consistent and fair manner. For example, a teacher enforcing classroom rules or a supervisor addressing attendance issues according to company policy.
Isolated Incidents: A single, non-repetitive instance of a comment or action that might be offensive but is not part of a pattern of behavior. For example, a colleague making an offhand remark that could be seen as rude but immediately apologizes.
Perceived Slights or Misunderstandings: Situations where an action or comment is misinterpreted or taken out of context. For example, someone feeling slighted because of a misunderstood joke that wasn’t meant to offend.
Friendly Banter or Jokes (If Mutual): Light-hearted exchanges that both parties understand and accept as non-offensive. For example, friends or close colleagues teasing each other in a way that both find funny and acceptable.
Normal Management Actions: Legitimate management actions taken in the course of business, like performance reviews, promotions, or disciplinary actions. For example, a supervisor assigning tasks based on job performance and business needs.
Cultural Differences: Actions or behaviors rooted in cultural norms that may be misunderstood but are not intended to be offensive. For example, a greeting or gesture that is customary in one culture but may seem strange or awkward in another.
Refusal of Unreasonable Requests: Declining a request that is not reasonable or within someone’s rights to refuse. For example, an employee refusing to work overtime that was not agreed upon in their contract.
Addressing Harassment: Communicating to someone that their behavior is harassing you, when it is true. This can help make the individual aware of the impact of their behavior, seek resolution, validate your experience, set boundaries, and follow legal or organizational procedures. For example, telling a coworker that their repeated comments about your appearance are making you uncomfortable and asking them to stop.
Now let's break down what does count as harassment:
Disinformation and Defamation of Character
Definition:
Disinformation: This refers to false information that is deliberately created and spread to deceive or mislead others. It’s often used to manipulate public opinion, discredit individuals, or cause confusion.
Slander: This involves making false spoken statements that damage someone’s reputation.
Libel: Libel is similar to slander but involves false statements made in a fixed medium, typically written or published online.
Defamation of Character: This is a broader term encompassing both slander and libel, referring to any false statement, whether spoken or written, that harms a person's reputation.
As Harassment:
Disinformation becomes harassment when it is used maliciously to harm an individual's reputation or cause them distress. This might involve spreading false rumors about someone’s actions or beliefs, or fabricating stories to discredit them.
Slander/Libel/Defamation become harassment when false statements are made with the intent to damage someone's character or standing in the community, leading to social, professional, or personal harm. This is particularly damaging when spread online, where false information can quickly reach a wide audience.
Examples:
Disinformation: A group creates and spreads a false narrative that a well-known activist has engaged in illegal activities, with the aim of discrediting their work and damaging their public image. The false information is shared widely across social media platforms, leading others to believe the activist is untrustworthy.
Slander: During a live podcast, a speaker falsely accuses a colleague of being involved in unethical business practices. Even though the accusation is baseless, listeners begin to question the colleague's integrity.
Libel: An online blog publishes an article falsely claiming that a local politician has been accepting bribes. The article spreads rapidly, causing the politician to face public scrutiny and potentially affecting their career.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional Distress: The victim may experience anxiety, stress, and a sense of powerlessness as their reputation is attacked. This can lead to mental health issues such as depression or anxiety disorders.
Social Isolation: As the false information spreads, the victim may find themselves ostracized by their community, friends, or professional network. They may be unfairly judged or treated differently by others who believe the falsehoods.
Professional Consequences: Defamation can result in job loss, damage to professional relationships, or loss of business opportunities, especially if the victim’s reputation is central to their work.
Financial Damage: The victim might incur legal costs in attempting to clear their name or experience a loss of income due to damaged reputation.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: In many jurisdictions, victims of defamation of character can pursue legal action against the perpetrator. They may sue for damages to compensate for the harm done to their reputation. However, these cases can be complex, requiring proof that the statements were false, made with malicious intent, and caused harm.
Platform Policies: Many social media platforms have guidelines against spreading false information and may take action by removing content or banning users who engage in such activities. However, enforcement can be inconsistent.
Ethical Implications: Even if legal action isn’t taken, spreading false information or engaging in defamation is ethically wrong and can have serious consequences for both the victim and society as a whole. It undermines trust in information sources and can contribute to a culture of misinformation and cynicism.
Disinformation and slander/libel can be deeply damaging, both personally and professionally, and are forms of harassment that are taken seriously both legally and ethically.
Amplifying Disinformation and Slander
Definition:
Amplifying Disinformation: This refers to the act of spreading or sharing deliberately false or misleading information created by someone else. It involves reblogging, retweeting, sharing posts, or forwarding messages that contain disinformation, even if the person amplifying it isn’t the original creator.
Amplifying Slander: This involves spreading spoken false statements about someone that are damaging to their reputation. It often occurs in social interactions, such as sharing gossip or rumors.
Amplifying Libel: This is similar to amplifying slander but involves sharing written or published false information that harms someone’s reputation. It typically occurs on social media, blogs, or other written formats.
As Harassment:
Amplifying Disinformation becomes harassment when it is done with malicious intent or reckless disregard for the truth. By spreading false information, individuals contribute to the harm caused to the victim, including damage to their reputation, emotional distress, and social or professional consequences.
Amplifying Slander/Libel becomes harassment when the person sharing the information knows it is false or harmful but continues to spread it, thereby further damaging the victim’s reputation and standing. Even if the person amplifying the content isn't the original source, they are still participating in and perpetuating the harm.
Examples:
Amplifying Disinformation: After seeing a tweet that deliberately spreads a false narrative about a political figure being involved in a criminal activity, a user retweets it with a comment that suggests they believe it, spreading the disinformation to their followers. The false claim quickly gains traction, causing the political figure significant public backlash.
Amplifying Slander: During a group chat, one person repeats a false rumor they heard about a coworker being unfaithful. Even though the rumor is baseless and was created with malicious intent, it quickly spreads through the workplace, damaging the coworker’s reputation and personal relationships.
Amplifying Libel: A person shares an article on their Facebook page that falsely accuses a local business owner of engaging in fraudulent activities. Although they didn’t write the article, their act of sharing it contributes to the spread of the disinformation, leading to a decline in the business owner’s customer base.
Impact on the Victim:
Increased Harm: The more widely disinformation or slander is shared, the more damage it can cause. As the false information reaches a larger audience, the victim may face increased social ostracization, professional setbacks, or emotional distress.
Difficulty in Correcting the Record: Once disinformation or slander is amplified, it can be challenging for the victim to correct the falsehoods. The spread of false information can take on a life of its own, making it hard for the truth to prevail.
Reputational Damage: The victim may suffer long-term harm to their personal and professional reputation, which can affect their relationships, career, and social standing.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Amplifying disinformation, slander, or libel can expose the person spreading the false information to legal liability, particularly if they knowingly shared it with the intent to cause harm. In some cases, they may be sued for defamation or held responsible for damages caused by the spread of false information.
Ethical Responsibility: Even if there is no legal liability, those who amplify false information have an ethical responsibility to verify the accuracy of what they share. Spreading disinformation or slander without regard for the truth is unethical and can contribute to a culture of harassment and mistrust.
Platform Policies: Social media platforms often have policies against the spread of disinformation and may take action against users who repeatedly amplify harmful content. This could include warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.
Amplifying disinformation and slander is a serious issue that can cause significant harm to individuals and communities. Those who engage in this behavior, even if they aren’t the original creators of the content, play a crucial role in perpetuating the damage and may face legal and ethical consequences.
Cyberbullying
Definition:
Cyberbullying involves the use of digital platforms, such as social media, messaging apps, or online forums, to repeatedly target, intimidate, or belittle an individual. It is a form of bullying that occurs online and can include various forms of aggressive behavior.
As Harassment:
Cyberbullying becomes harassment when the behavior is intentional, repeated, and causes significant emotional distress or harm to the victim. It can involve sending threatening or abusive messages, spreading rumors, or using online platforms to isolate or degrade someone.
Examples:
Personal Attacks: A student repeatedly sends mean-spirited and threatening messages to a classmate through a messaging app. These messages include insults, threats of violence, and derogatory comments about the victim’s appearance and personal life.
Public Shaming: A group of people creates a social media page specifically to post embarrassing photos and make derogatory comments about an individual. The posts are shared widely, leading to public humiliation.
Spreading Rumors: An individual creates fake profiles to spread false and harmful rumors about someone, such as accusing them of dishonest or immoral behavior. This false information is shared across multiple platforms, damaging the victim’s reputation.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional Distress: Victims of cyberbullying may experience feelings of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. The constant online attacks can lead to severe emotional distress and a sense of helplessness.
Social Isolation: The victim may withdraw from online and offline social interactions due to fear of further harassment. This isolation can lead to a decline in social support and relationships.
Academic and Professional Impact: For students, cyberbullying can lead to decreased academic performance and school avoidance. For adults, it can affect job performance and professional relationships.
Physical Effects: The stress and anxiety caused by cyberbullying can result in physical symptoms such as headaches, sleep disturbances, and a weakened immune system.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Many jurisdictions have laws specifically targeting cyberbullying. Legal actions can include restraining orders, criminal charges for harassment or threats, and civil lawsuits for damages. Laws vary by location, so the availability and extent of legal recourse depend on local regulations.
Platform Policies: Social media platforms and online services often have policies against cyberbullying. Users who engage in such behavior may face account suspension, bans, or content removal. Reporting mechanisms are available for victims to report abusive behavior.
Ethical Implications: Cyberbullying is ethically unacceptable as it inflicts unnecessary harm and distress on individuals. It contributes to a toxic online environment and can have severe consequences for victims. Promoting respectful and positive online interactions is crucial for fostering a supportive digital community.
Cyberbullying is a serious issue with far-reaching effects on individuals’ mental health and well-being. Addressing it requires both legal action and ethical responsibility, with efforts focused on prevention, support for victims, and creating a safer online environment.
Doxxing
Definition:
Doxxing (or "doxing") is the act of publicly revealing or publishing private, sensitive, or personal information about an individual without their consent. This information might include details like home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and workplace locations. The term "doxx" originates from the word "documents," reflecting the sharing of documents or personal details.
As Harassment:
Doxxing becomes harassment when the intention is to harm, intimidate, or distress the individual whose information is being exposed. It can be used to provoke harassment from others, incite physical threats, or damage the victim's privacy and security.
Examples:
Public Exposure: An individual’s personal details, such as their home address and phone number, are posted on a public forum or social media site after a heated online argument. This leads to unwanted contact and harassment from strangers.
Threatening Behavior: An online user publishes sensitive information about a journalist who has been critical of certain groups. The journalist starts receiving threatening messages and is forced to take security precautions.
Intimidation Tactics: After a disagreement in a gaming community, a player’s real-life address and contact information are shared with the community, leading to in-person threats and harassment.
Impact on the Victim:
Safety and Security Risks: The victim may face threats of physical harm or stalking due to the exposure of their personal information. This can lead to a heightened sense of vulnerability and fear.
Emotional Distress: Victims often experience significant emotional stress, including anxiety, fear, and a sense of invasion of privacy. The knowledge that their personal information is publicly accessible can be deeply unsettling.
Social and Professional Consequences: The victim’s reputation can be damaged, leading to unwanted attention and negative interactions in their personal and professional life. They might experience social ostracism or job-related issues as a result of the doxxing.
Financial Impact: In extreme cases, victims may incur costs related to increased security measures, legal fees, or changes in their contact information.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Many jurisdictions consider doxxing a criminal offense, particularly if it involves threats, harassment, or incitement to violence. Laws related to privacy, harassment, and cybercrime can be applied to address doxxing. Victims can often seek legal protection or file complaints with law enforcement.
Platform Policies: Social media platforms and online services typically have policies against doxxing. They may take action such as removing the offending content, suspending accounts, or providing support to affected users. However, enforcement can vary.
Ethical Implications: Doxxing is ethically problematic as it involves a deliberate invasion of privacy and can lead to severe consequences for the victim. It violates principles of respect and confidentiality and contributes to a hostile online environment.
Doxxing represents a serious breach of privacy and security, with the potential for significant harm to individuals. Addressing doxxing requires both legal measures and a strong ethical commitment to protecting personal information and respecting others’ privacy.
Stalking
Definition:
Stalking involves persistent and unwanted attention or surveillance of an individual that causes them to feel fear or distress. It can occur through various means, including physical following, digital monitoring, or repeated harassment through communication channels. The intent is often to intimidate or control the victim.
As Harassment:
Stalking becomes harassment when it is done with the intent to cause emotional or psychological harm, invade the victim’s privacy, or exert control over their actions. The behavior is characterized by its repetitive nature and the fear it instills in the victim.
Examples:
Physical Stalking: An individual repeatedly shows up at the victim’s home or workplace, waits for them outside, or follows them in public places despite being asked to stop.
Digital Stalking: A person continually monitors the victim’s online activities, sends frequent and unwanted messages or emails, tracks their location through social media check-ins, and creates fake profiles to gain more access.
Harassing Communication: The stalker sends numerous threatening or intrusive messages, calls, or letters, making the victim feel unsafe and overwhelmed. This can include persistent contact despite clear requests to cease communication.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional Distress: Victims often experience high levels of anxiety, fear, and paranoia. The constant sense of being watched or followed can lead to severe emotional trauma and mental health issues, such as depression or panic attacks.
Social Isolation: Victims may withdraw from social activities or change their routines to avoid the stalker. They might also feel compelled to move or alter their personal lives significantly to ensure their safety.
Professional Disruption: Stalking can interfere with the victim’s work life, leading to decreased productivity, job dissatisfaction, or even job loss if the stalking occurs at their workplace or affects their professional reputation.
Physical Safety: In severe cases, stalking can lead to physical threats or attacks, putting the victim's safety and well-being at risk. This may necessitate physical security measures or legal protections.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Many jurisdictions have specific laws against stalking, which can include criminal charges and restraining orders. These laws address both physical and digital stalking behaviors, providing legal avenues for victims to seek protection and hold perpetrators accountable.
Platform Policies: Social media platforms and online services often have policies against stalking and harassment. Victims can report stalking behavior to these platforms, which may take action such as banning the perpetrator or removing harmful content.
Ethical Implications: Stalking is ethically unacceptable as it infringes on an individual’s right to privacy and security. It represents a severe violation of personal boundaries and can cause lasting harm. Ethical behavior involves respecting others' personal space and ensuring that interactions remain consensual and respectful.
Stalking is a grave form of harassment that involves a persistent invasion of privacy and control over the victim’s life. Addressing it requires both legal intervention and ethical commitment to safeguarding individuals' personal safety and well-being.
Hate Speech
Definition:
Hate speech refers to any communication—whether verbal, written, or visual—that disparages or incites violence or hostility against an individual or group based on attributes such as race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. It involves expressions that promote hatred or violence towards people based on these characteristics.
As Harassment:
Hate speech becomes harassment when it is used to target individuals or groups with the intent to demean, intimidate, or incite violence against them. It often creates a hostile environment and contributes to systemic discrimination and exclusion. The impact of hate speech can extend beyond the immediate target to affect entire communities.
Examples:
Social Media Posts: A user posts derogatory comments and slurs about a specific racial or religious group, encouraging others to join in and spread similar messages. These posts can lead to a climate of hostility and exclusion for members of the targeted group.
Online Forums: On a discussion board, members share and amplify content that advocates violence against LGBTQ+ individuals, including graphic threats and dehumanizing rhetoric. This can make LGBTQ+ users feel unsafe and unwelcome on the platform.
Hate Groups: Organized hate groups use websites and social media to recruit and spread propaganda that targets specific ethnic or religious groups. Their messages include misinformation, inflammatory statements, and calls for discriminatory actions.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional Harm: Victims of hate speech often experience emotional and psychological distress, including feelings of fear, anxiety, and depression. They may feel dehumanized or marginalized.
Social Exclusion: Hate speech can lead to social ostracization and reduced participation in community or public activities. Victims may withdraw from online communities or public spaces to avoid hostility.
Physical Safety: In severe cases, hate speech can incite real-world violence or harassment against individuals or groups, leading to physical harm or threats. It can also contribute to a climate of fear and insecurity.
Community Impact: Hate speech can contribute to broader societal divisions and tensions, fostering environments where prejudice and discrimination are normalized.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: The legality of hate speech varies by jurisdiction. Some countries have specific laws that criminalize hate speech, while others protect freedom of speech more broadly, making legal action challenging. In regions with laws against hate speech, victims may have the option to report incidents to law enforcement or seek legal remedies.
Platform Policies: Many social media platforms have policies prohibiting hate speech and may take action by removing content, suspending accounts, or banning users who engage in such behavior. However, enforcement can be inconsistent, and some platforms may struggle to balance moderation with free speech considerations.
Ethical Implications: Hate speech is widely regarded as unethical because it promotes discrimination and intolerance. It undermines the principles of respect and equality, contributing to societal harm. Addressing hate speech requires a commitment to fostering inclusive and respectful communities, both online and offline.
Hate speech is a serious form of harassment with far-reaching effects on individuals and communities. Recognizing its impact and taking action to prevent and address it is crucial for promoting a more respectful and inclusive digital environment.
Trolling
Definition:
Trolling is the act of making deliberately provocative, offensive, or off-topic comments with the intention of eliciting strong emotional responses from others. It often involves disrupting conversations, creating conflicts, or stirring up controversy for amusement or to upset others.
As Harassment:
Trolling becomes harassment when the intent is to target specific individuals or groups with the purpose of causing emotional distress, confusion, or frustration. This involves consistently targeting someone with offensive or inflammatory comments, aiming to disrupt their online experience or provoke a reaction.
Examples:
Social Media Comments: A user repeatedly posts inflammatory or offensive comments on posts related to sensitive topics like mental health or personal identity. Their goal is to provoke arguments, upset the original poster, and attract attention to their own posts.
Forum Disruption: On an online forum focused on a specific hobby or interest, a troll deliberately posts off-topic or derogatory comments to derail discussions, causing frustration and confusion among regular members.
Live Stream Interference: During a live stream, a troll bombards the chat with spam, offensive messages, and provocative statements to distract the streamer and viewers, disrupting the content and conversation.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional Distress: Victims may experience frustration, anger, and stress as a result of trolling. The constant need to address or ignore disruptive comments can be mentally exhausting.
Disruption of Conversations: Trolling can derail meaningful discussions and create a hostile environment, making it difficult for others to engage in productive or enjoyable conversations.
Reduced Participation: The presence of trolls can lead to decreased participation in online communities, as users may avoid engaging with platforms or topics where they have previously been targeted.
Psychological Impact: Persistent trolling can contribute to anxiety, depression, or feelings of helplessness, particularly if the troll’s comments are deeply personal or offensive.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: The legal response to trolling varies by jurisdiction and the nature of the trolling. While many forms of trolling do not constitute a criminal offense, behaviors that involve threats, harassment, or incitement to violence may be actionable under cybercrime or harassment laws.
Platform Policies: Most social media and online platforms have community guidelines that address trolling. They may take action such as removing offending content, suspending accounts, or banning users who engage in trolling behavior. Enforcement can vary, and some platforms struggle to effectively manage trolling.
Ethical Implications: Trolling is generally considered unethical because it aims to disrupt, harm, or manipulate others for personal amusement. It undermines respectful and constructive communication and can contribute to a negative online culture. Addressing trolling involves fostering a more respectful online environment and encouraging positive interactions.
Trolling is a form of online harassment that can have significant emotional and social impacts on individuals and communities. Recognizing and addressing trolling behavior is important for maintaining healthy and respectful online interactions.
Impersonation
Definition:
Impersonation involves creating or using a fake identity to deceive others into believing that you are someone else. This can include pretending to be a public figure, a private individual, or a professional entity. The goal is often to mislead or manipulate others for various purposes, including personal gain, harassment, or deception.
As Harassment:
Impersonation becomes harassment when it is used to target individuals with the intention of causing harm, spreading false information, or engaging in malicious activities. This might involve creating fake profiles or accounts to misrepresent someone or to exploit their identity for harmful purposes.
Examples:
Social Media Accounts: A user creates a fake social media profile pretending to be a well-known celebrity or public figure, using it to post misleading or harmful content that could damage the real person’s reputation.
Email Scams: An individual sends emails from an address that looks like it belongs to a trusted authority or organization (e.g., a company executive or a government official) to deceive recipients into providing sensitive information or making financial transactions.
Online Fraud: Someone impersonates a person in an online dating profile, using fake photos and personal details to manipulate or exploit other users emotionally or financially.
Impact on the Victim:
Reputation Damage: The victim may suffer from reputational harm if false or misleading information is spread using their identity, leading to confusion, mistrust, or negative perceptions among their audience or associates.
Emotional Distress: Being impersonated can lead to significant emotional distress, including anxiety, embarrassment, and frustration. The victim may feel violated and powerless, particularly if the impersonation is done in a malicious or humiliating way.
Professional Consequences: For public figures, professionals, or businesses, impersonation can lead to professional repercussions, including loss of business opportunities, legal issues, or damage to professional relationships.
Financial Impact: If impersonation involves fraud, the victim may suffer financial losses or be involved in lengthy and costly legal battles to address the situation.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Many jurisdictions have laws against impersonation, including identity theft, fraud, and misrepresentation. Victims may have legal avenues to pursue, such as filing complaints with law enforcement or taking civil action to seek damages. The specifics of legal recourse vary depending on local laws and the nature of the impersonation.
Platform Policies: Social media and online platforms often have policies against impersonation. They may take actions such as verifying identities, removing fake accounts, or suspending users who engage in impersonation. Effective enforcement of these policies can be challenging, especially given the scale of online interactions.
Ethical Implications: Impersonation is generally considered unethical because it involves deception and manipulation. It undermines trust and can have serious consequences for individuals and organizations. Ethical behavior online includes respecting others' identities and avoiding deceptive practices.
Impersonation can be a serious form of online harassment with far-reaching effects on both individuals and organizations. Addressing and preventing impersonation involves understanding its impacts, pursuing legal remedies when necessary, and fostering ethical online behavior.
Spamming
Definition:
Spamming refers to the repeated, unsolicited sending of messages or content, often with the intent to overwhelm, disrupt communication, or promote something, usually in a commercial context. It can occur through email, social media, messaging platforms, or other digital channels.
As Harassment:
Spamming becomes harassment when it is used to intentionally annoy, intimidate, or overwhelm an individual or organization. This might involve flooding someone's inbox with unwanted messages, bombarding a social media profile with repetitive or abusive comments, or inundating forums with irrelevant or harmful content. The goal is often to disrupt normal communication or to cause distress.
Examples:
Email Spamming: A user receives hundreds of unsolicited promotional emails, some of which contain malicious links or phishing attempts. The volume of spam clutters their inbox and makes it difficult to manage legitimate communications.
Social Media Spamming: An individual’s social media account is flooded with repetitive comments or messages from the same user or group. These comments might be abusive, irrelevant, or aimed at disrupting the user’s ability to engage with others on the platform.
Forum Spamming: A user continuously posts irrelevant or disruptive messages in online forums or discussion boards, often to derail conversations, promote products, or harass other users.
Impact on the Victim:
Overwhelm and Stress: The victim may feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of messages or content, leading to stress and frustration. Managing or filtering through spam can be time-consuming and mentally taxing.
Disruption of Communication: Spam can disrupt normal communication, making it difficult for the victim to focus on important messages or tasks. It can also crowd out legitimate content or conversations, reducing the effectiveness of communication platforms.
Privacy and Security Risks: Some spam messages may contain malicious links or attachments that can compromise the victim’s privacy or security, leading to potential data breaches or identity theft.
Financial Impact: For businesses, spamming can lead to loss of productivity, increased costs related to managing or mitigating spam, and potential damage to their reputation if customers are affected.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Many jurisdictions have laws against spamming, especially when it involves malicious intent or financial fraud. For instance, the CAN-SPAM Act in the U.S. regulates commercial email and provides guidelines for managing spam. Victims of spam may also seek legal remedies for damages or file complaints with relevant authorities.
Platform Policies: Most digital platforms and services have policies against spamming. Violations can result in penalties such as account suspension, banning, or removal of the offending content.
Ethical Implications: Spamming is considered unethical as it disregards the recipient’s consent and aims to exploit or harass individuals. It disrupts normal communication practices and can contribute to a negative online experience for users.
Spamming, when used maliciously, can have significant negative impacts on individuals and organizations, and is addressed by legal frameworks and platform policies to protect users and maintain the integrity of digital communication.
Making Threats
Definition:
Threats to Harm Others: These are statements or actions that express an intention to cause physical harm or violence to another person. These threats can be explicit (directly stating the intention to harm) or implicit (suggesting harm or intimidation).
Threats to Harm Oneself: These are statements or actions that express a desire or intention to self-harm or commit suicide. Such threats may be made in distressing contexts and can indicate serious emotional or psychological issues.
As Harassment:
Threats to Harm Others: When threats are made to harm others, they can be a form of harassment if the intent is to intimidate, control, or manipulate the target. This can involve direct threats or veiled warnings intended to cause fear or distress. The impact can be significant, causing emotional and psychological trauma, and creating a sense of insecurity or danger for the victim.
Threats to Harm Oneself: Threats of self-harm can also be a form of harassment if they are used manipulatively or to provoke a response from others. In some cases, individuals may use threats of self-harm to exert control or to gain attention, which can create distress and concern among those who are aware of the threats.
Examples:
Threats to Harm Others:
Direct Threat: A user posts a message on social media stating, "I will come to your house and hurt you if you don’t stop talking about me." This explicit threat aims to intimidate the recipient.
Implicit Threat: An individual leaves a comment on a public forum suggesting, "People like you should be careful about what they say," followed by a vague reference to "consequences." This implies potential harm without explicit details.
Threats to Harm Oneself:
Direct Threat: A user posts on a social media platform saying, "I’m going to end my life tonight. I don’t see any way out." This expresses a clear intention to self-harm.
Implicit Threat: An individual frequently posts messages or updates about feeling hopeless and discusses self-destructive thoughts without explicitly stating their intent to self-harm, but hinting at severe distress.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional and Psychological Trauma: For threats to harm others, victims may experience fear, anxiety, and a sense of vulnerability. The threat of violence can lead to psychological stress and trauma.
Behavioral Changes: Victims of threats may change their behavior to avoid potential harm, such as avoiding certain places or people, or taking additional precautions for their safety.
Distress and Concern: For threats of self-harm, friends, family, and others may experience significant emotional distress and concern, feeling helpless or anxious about the individual’s well-being.
Intervention and Support: Threats of self-harm often prompt intervention from mental health professionals or emergency services, which can be disruptive and may lead to involuntary treatment or hospitalization for the individual making the threats.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse:
Threats to Harm Others: Making threats of violence can be illegal in many jurisdictions. Victims can report these threats to law enforcement, who may investigate and take legal action if necessary. Criminal charges can be brought against individuals making credible threats of harm.
Threats to Harm Oneself: While threats of self-harm are not typically illegal, they often prompt intervention by mental health professionals and emergency services to ensure the individual’s safety. In some cases, these threats may lead to involuntary hospitalization or treatment if the person is deemed a danger to themselves.
Platform Policies: Many online platforms have policies against threats of violence and self-harm. Content that violates these policies may be removed, and users making such threats may be banned or suspended. Platforms often have mechanisms for reporting and addressing these issues.
Ethical Implications: Both types of threats raise serious ethical concerns. Making threats to harm others is fundamentally unethical and can have legal consequences. Threats of self-harm require sensitive handling, as they indicate significant distress and necessitate a compassionate response to address the underlying issues and provide appropriate support.
Threats, whether directed towards others or oneself, are serious and can have profound impacts on all involved. They are addressed through legal channels, platform policies, and ethical guidelines to protect individuals and provide necessary support.
Sexual Harassment
Definition:
Sexual Harassment: This is unwanted and unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature that creates a hostile or intimidating environment. It can occur in various forms, including physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct. Sexual harassment is often characterized by a power imbalance and can occur in both professional and personal contexts.
As Harassment:
Sexual Harassment becomes harassment when it involves making someone feel uncomfortable, threatened, or demeaned through sexual advances, comments, or behavior. This includes behavior that interferes with the victim’s ability to participate in work or social environments and can create an atmosphere of intimidation or hostility.
Examples:
Verbal Harassment: Making inappropriate or suggestive comments, jokes, or propositions about someone's body or sexual activities. For instance, repeatedly commenting on a colleague’s appearance or making unwelcome advances.
Physical Harassment: Unwanted physical contact, such as touching, groping, or brushing up against someone in a manner that makes them uncomfortable. This can also include gestures or displays of sexually explicit material.
Non-Verbal Harassment: Sending sexually suggestive messages, images, or using body language that implies sexual interest or intent. This includes persistent staring or creating an atmosphere with sexually explicit material.
Online Harassment: Sending unsolicited explicit messages or images through social media, email, or messaging platforms. This can also involve tagging someone in inappropriate content or making unwanted advances through digital communication.
Impact on the Victim:
Emotional Distress: Victims may experience a range of emotional responses, including anxiety, depression, and fear. The harassment can lead to a diminished sense of safety and self-worth.
Professional Consequences: In a workplace setting, sexual harassment can affect job performance, career progression, and workplace relationships. Victims may face challenges in their professional environment, such as being passed over for promotions or experiencing isolation from colleagues.
Social and Personal Impact: Harassment can lead to a loss of confidence, social withdrawal, and strained personal relationships. Victims might avoid certain places or situations to escape harassment or its reminders.
Physical Health: The stress and emotional impact of harassment can manifest physically, leading to issues such as sleep disturbances, headaches, or other stress-related health problems.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
Legal Recourse: Many jurisdictions have laws and regulations against sexual harassment. Victims may have legal avenues to pursue claims, such as filing complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in the U.S. or similar bodies in other countries. Legal action can result in compensation for damages, changes in workplace policies, or other remedies.
Platform Policies: Online platforms and workplaces typically have policies prohibiting sexual harassment. Violations can lead to account suspension, removal of content, or disciplinary actions against offenders. Reporting mechanisms are often available to address harassment claims.
Ethical Implications: Sexual harassment is a severe violation of ethical standards and personal boundaries. It undermines the dignity and rights of individuals and perpetuates a culture of inequality and fear. Ethical responses involve creating safe and respectful environments, actively addressing and preventing harassment, and supporting victims.
Sexual harassment is a serious issue with significant legal, ethical, and personal implications. Addressing it effectively requires a combination of legal action, supportive policies, and a commitment to creating respectful and safe environments for all individuals.
Understanding and addressing online harassment is crucial for fostering a safer and more respectful digital environment. From the deliberate spread of disinformation and defamation to the invasive impact of spamming and threats, each form of harassment has its own set of consequences that can deeply affect individuals and communities. Sexual harassment, in particular, represents a severe violation of personal dignity and can lead to significant emotional and professional harm.
By recognizing the different manifestations of harassment, from slander and libel to online threats and unwanted sexual advances, we can better equip ourselves to combat these issues effectively. Legal frameworks, platform policies, and ethical practices all play essential roles in addressing and mitigating harassment.
It is our collective responsibility to create and maintain environments—both online and offline—where individuals feel safe, respected, and heard. By staying informed, supporting victims, and holding perpetrators accountable, we can contribute to a more just and compassionate society. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and it is up to all of us to uphold these values in every interaction.

Mark loves his job.
Nothing made him happier than donning the red and blue one-piece suit with the arachnoid symbol on the center of the chest and pulling down the matching mask. He was pretty proud of his sewing skills. Hopefully the elderly owner of the downtown fabric store never puts the puzzle pieces together.
He was still fairly new to being Spider-Man – only being bitten at the beginning of last semester and using the summer to work out the kinks – this spring semester would show his improvement.
His school schedule was class schedule was calm with classes only on Tuesday and Thursday in the morning and evening with the rest online. With the perfect amount of time throughout busy days to sneak away to patrol the city. The rest of the weekdays were dedicated to working at the college radio station. It allowed Mark to work around his own schedule as he could pre-record segments and cue up pre-made playlists.
The morning of the first day of the new semester was looking like an average day, helping civilians with minimal tasks like crossing busy streets and saving pets in trees.
Swinging to university was his favorite form of transportation as it was convenient but at the same time fun as sailing through the air was incomparable to any other experience. Mark landed on the roof of the old bell tower as he quickly changed into a pair of clothes he stashed in a hidden backpack on the ceiling ledge. Nothing too exciting, just a maroon tee, brown cargo pants, and black converse. He made quick work to stash his suit inside his backpack and slung it over his shoulder.
He walked down the spiral staircase as he put on his headphones and checked his phone.

johnny dude r u coming to shoot some hoops?
jaehyun are we playing basketball or should I skip for football practice?
mark be there in 5
Mark raced across the university lawn, passing unassuming students that would never know his secret. The early morning hours provided more security for his secret as most people around him were either too busy rushing to their 8 AM lecture or too tired from pulling another all-nighter.
When he reached the basketball courts, Mark tucked his bag in between Jaehyun’s massive athletic bag and Johnny’s decked out in pins and patches. The duo was goofing off with a basketball as they made obnoxious moves before shooting for the hoop.
“Hey guys, sorry I’m late.”
Johnny pauses as he turns toward his best friend before tossing the ball. Mark effortlessly catches it due to his built-up reflexes from stopping local crimes.
“Yo guess who finally decided to show up.” Johnny remarks as Mark makes a 3 pointer.
Jaehyun and Johnny both share a look as the former greets Mark, “You’ve gotten really good at basketball in a short amount of time… like crazy good.”
“Yeah man. You used to not be able to even get the ball in while standing still, but now you’re even better than Mr. Team Captain over here.”
Mark shrugs as he dribbles the ball, “I’m not even close to Jaehyun’s level, dude. He’s the best player.”
“Okay then go to the other side of the court and make it in.”
Mark looks at Johnny as Jaehyun chugs some water but gives in as he walks to the end of the court.
Mark is pretty sure that his sharp reflexes only work for short distances or when he’s out being Spider-Man, so the dare shouldn’t tip his best friends off. Mark dribbles the ball a bit before throwing the ball in the direction of the hoop.
Luckily, the ball goes over the hoop and proving to Johnny and Jaehyun that he still sucks at basketball, but unluckily almost hits a passerby.
You.
“Airball!”
You turn to the source of the noise as you let out a surprised yell as you duck to avoid the rouge basketball, falling to the ground and letting out a string of curses. Mark rushes over after his Spidey senses went off, shooting a ball of webs to knock it off its course of hitting you.
“Are you okay?”
You look up to see a concerned Mark as he helps you up, “Dude, I am so sorry. That could have ended really badly. Did you get hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?”
Johnny and Jaehyun follow Mark to check up on you as you stare at the 3 attractive men paying too much attention to you.
“I’m okay, really. I didn’t even get hit. Just was caught off guard.”
The trio are unconvinced as they inspect your arms and head. Mark is focused on checking for any injury – even a millimeter of a scratch – on your right arm as Jaehyun checks the range of motion on your left arm and Johnny is asking you how many fingers he’s holding up.
“I’m not hurt, but I’ll still get checked up the clinic.” You bargain to get the attractive strangers to stop dotting over you.
“I’ll walk you!” Mark volunteers as he grabs your backpack off the floor and waves bye to his friends. Johnny and Jaehyun refuse to leave until they exchange their number with you to check up but also to make it up to you later. You tell them that it’s not necessary, but the pair insist as Mark gets you to leave.
He quickly introduces himself and you do it in return. Walking to the clinic was peaceful as both you and Mark’s steps were in sync. The crisp spring air helped calm your nerves. You know that you weren’t hurt but it would be best to get a check-up by a nurse.
“I’m really sorry again.”
“Apology accepted.”
“Let’s just get you to the clinic.”

After a quick check-up with a nurse, you are deemed “okay” with no external or internal injuries. Mark gives you back your backpack as you thank him and are returned with another long string of apologies.
“Here, let me – no us – make it up to you.” Mark opens his phone to create a group chat between the four of you.
we’re sorry

johnny thank god ur not hurt
“So, are you free this week?”
You look away from your phone at Mark staring at you. You quickly look away at the students walking past you. You feel nervous as Mark is cute and being near him is not helping your poor heart.
“Yeah, I can do Wednesday or this weekend.”
You have to work Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with your two in-person classes on the other days and your two fully online classes spread throughout the week. Luckily, working at the bookstore on campus was flexible and allowed you to complete homework whenever you had free time.
“I know this is an annoying question, but what’s your year and major?”
“I’m a sophomore majoring in Health Sciences.”
Mark’s eyes light up, “I’m a sophomore too! But I’m a Biomed major. We’re kinda in similar majors.”
“We might even have a class together.” You joke and let out a laugh, but your mouth shuts as Mark has his printed schedule in hands and extended in your direction.
Your joke turns out to be true as you both share the same evening class on Tuesday and Thursday. Which is a good thing because at least you know someone in that class. A friend possibly.
“Do you work?”
“I work at the radio, so if you ever tune into 27.1 FM you will hear playlists I put together.”
“Ugh, that sounds like such a fun job. I work at the bookstore. I mean, don’t get me wrong I like it there, but it’s never busy for my shifts.”
A notification on Mark’s phone makes him freeze up, but before you can ask what’s wrong he quickly bids you goodbye as he rushes off. You decide to head to work and hope that nothing else out of the ordinary happens today.

On the plus side, your shared class with Mark has been going well so far. During the first class the day after you met him, you got to the classroom early and saved him a seat.
You watch as people slowly trickle into class as you held out a small hope that Mark would want to sit next to you. The class was almost full with just a handful of seats left – two directly in front of the professor’s podium, one in the very back by the other door, and the one you’ve been saving. He arrives at the last minute, and you watch him scan the room, hopefully looking for you, but once your eyes meet and Mark grins, your heart started racing.
Squeezing between people already in their seats, he reaches the open seat as you move your backpack from the chair to under the table. The professor starts the first day lecture of going over the syllabus, but you tune them out as your attention was… elsewhere.
Mark sits next to you, typing on his laptop as the professor talks. His outfit is a simple green hoodie with tan cargo pants and beat up black converse, yet the outfit compliments him. His hair is fluffy and a little messy as he runs his hand through it in an attempt to fix it. You notice that he’s breathing hard like he ran to get to class. You reach into your backpack to grab your water bottle and place it next to his hand. Mark pauses from typing notes as you turn your head back to the professor.
“Thanks.” He mumbles as he drinks the water.
“Don’t worry, I have another water bottle in my car. You can just give it back to me next class.” You whisper back while pretending to be interested in the professor’s grading policy.
When the second class rolls around, you’re surprised to see Mark is the first person in class, sitting in the same spot with his backpack on the seat you were sitting in last time and your water bottle on the table.

Saturday is the only day you are all free for lunch. Jaehyun, who keeps telling you to call him Jae, promises that this lunch will be the best lunch of your life and how he knows a worker. He’s brought it up every time he saw you while you were working. Johnny was no help either as he kept asking you super specific questions you would have no idea how to answer.
Johnny leans on a display table full of notebooks while flipping through a psychology textbook, “What kind of wood is this table?”
You let out another deep sigh as you put on your customer service voice to answer yet another question from Johnny Suh. “Sorry, I don’t know.”
“Do you know someone who would?”
Johnny smirks as he puts on his sunglasses. You turn around to reshelve new chemistry textbooks when a tap on your shoulder has you seeing Jaehyun holding a cookbook open.
“Do you like” He turns the cookbook back to himself as he squints, “Maultaschen?”
“What do you know about Germany?”
Jaehyun closes the cookbook as he shoots you his best dimpled smile, “Nothing.”
“Guys, I’m trying to work.”
“Yeah, and we’re being customers.”
Johnny sasses you as he pushes the cart of textbooks away from you. “Don’t pretend that we don’t make your shifts better.”
You can’t argue that because it is true, but you’re also afraid that your boss might think you’re slacking and goofing around with friends on the clock.
“I do love it when you guys come see me while I’m working, but I don’t want my boss to think I’m slacking.”
Jaehyun leans on your shoulder as he looks around the empty bookstore. “Bro, you’re the best employee here by far, but if your boss thinks otherwise, we can give a good review.”
“You? Slacking?” Johnny lets out a laugh as puts some textbooks on the highest shelf. “Slacking is scared of you. And Spider-Man.”
“Here he goes.” Jaehyun rolls his eyes as Johnny scoffs.
“Spider-Man is the coolest superhero ever. I’m jealous of all the people that get to see him work in real time.”
“Spider-Man?”
Johnny’s jaw drops, “Yo… you don’t know Spider-Man? You know, the masked guy in blue and red and has a spider sign on his chest. Stops bank robbers and saves people in car crashes. The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?”
“Oh… his name is Spider-Man?”
“Yeah. I don’t wanna brag, but” Johnny leans closer to you, “I basically coined the name. The story’s really cool and super long, so I’ll save it for lunch.”
The other brunette fixes his backpack straps, “I should head to basketball practice soon, but we’ll text you later with the details. See you tomorrow.”
The duo leaves you to finish your tasks, but with less work as they helped while talking to you. You can’t help fighting the smile on your face at the idea of having plans with friends.
Lunch! With friends! Friends that you made in university and not the same friends you had back home that you knew from elementary school.
Maybe things were looking up for you.

Spider-Man business had never been easier. Petty thefts had gone down. The city was running smoothly like normal, which was great for Mark as he could focus on schoolwork and improving his swinging skills.
Currently, the vigilante was patrolling the city on the lookout for any danger. Nothing was coming through the crime watch app connected to his watch. He has 10 more minutes until lunch with Johnny, Jaehyun, and You.
Once he reaches the café building’s rooftop, Mark drops down and enters through the stairwell door going directly into the janitor’s room to change. The doors are unlocked, which is not the safest but it’s convenient for Mark, he quickly changes into a white tee, light wash jeans, and the same black converse. The suit and mask are stuffed into his backpack as he goes back out to the roof to web down to the ground to enter through the café entrance like a normal person.
He's constantly on the lookout as he drops down near the trash bins. When he walks in, Mark is the first out of your group to arrive. He snags a booth in the corner as he checks his phone.
we’re sorry

Mark smiles at the selfie Jaehyun took with him and Johnny on either side of you. Jaehyun does a peace sign pose, Johnny is making a kissy face, and you’re just softly smiling. A smile that Mark Lee cannot look away from.
“What are you looking at?”
Mark gets spooked by you as Johnny and Jaehyun slide into the opposite side leaving you to sit next to him. He quickly locks his phone as his roommates give him teasing looks.
The server, Na Jaemin from fraternity Dream, hands out menus and readies his tablet. “Hi. Can I get you all started with any drinks?”
“2 vanilla iced coffees, 1 mango smoothie, and 1 ice matcha latte with coconut milk.” Johnny easily recites as Jaemin types it.
“I’ll be back with those as you look over the menu.”
As Jaemin walks away, you look surprised at Johnny, “How did you know my drink order?”
“You’ve sent a selfie with the same drink the past three days.”
You slump back against the cushion. “That’s embarrassing.”
“Not as embarrassing as Johnny thinking he named Spider-Man.”
Mark tenses at the mention of his other identity. He steals a glance in your direction to see if you noticed, but you’re too busy watching his friends start bickering.
“Bro! I totally did!”
“No, dude. You did not.”
Before the duo can start up another pointless fight, you remind Johnny of his story time.
“At least someone’s interested. As I was saying before, it was early October last year and I was walking to the subway when this massive car crash happened in front of me. I thought I was going to get killed, but then I was suddenly out of the way. Some dude in spandex had pulled me out of the way of one of the cars and then he started pulling people out of the wreck. He even jumped over a 10-ton truck. It was insane. After the fire department and ambulance came to help, the dude shot out a web and it came to me, “Spider-Man”, so I yelled that, and he turned around to give me a thumbs up before swinging away. So basically Spider-Man owes me for that copyright, but I’ll let it slide because he saved my life.”
Mark laughs at Johnny’s retelling of the story because of the way he tells people. The superhero was just glad that he had the spidey sense to save one of his best friends.
Jaemin comes back with the drinks and takes food orders.
“Spider-Man is cool. I’m a fan.”
Mark chokes on the first sip of his smoothie from your casual confession as Johnny high fives you.
“Why do you like the Spider Boy?” Jaehyun questions you. Mark sits up slightly straighter in his seat as he focuses all his attention on your answer.
“Do you remember that major subway incident where some asshole pushed that lady onto the tracks?”
The guys nod their heads.
“I was waiting for the train when it happened. I didn’t see the asshole that did it as I was on my phone, but then the frantic yelling of people started and some good samaritans trying to help the lady off the tracks. Then, all of the sudden, Spider-Man runs in and saves her. Thank god he did before the train arrived and he calmed her down while she told him about the person who did it. I just remember feeling so useless but wanting to do more.”
Mark looks over at you as you stir your drink with a spoon, his heart sinking as he remembers. It was the first time he became a hero. The first person he saved – Ms. Smith works at the corner flower shop that his mom loves.
“And I even… never mind.”
“No finish your sentence.”
“Johnny’s going to make fun of me.”
“I won’t let him.”
“Well, I kinda have a crush on him.” You immediately put your head between your arms on the table in an effort to hide away.
Mark freezes at your confession as Jaehyun lets out an “awe” and Johnny’s jaw drops.
“You like Spider-Man?”
“I know. How do you even like a person when you’ve never seen their face, but it’s his personality. In every story about him saving or helping others, he’s always described as the nicest person ever.”
Mark’s ears are turning red from the compliment. He would have asked for what else you thought about Spider-Man, but Jaemin came back with their orders.
“Yo Jaehyun, are you coming to DREAM’s party Friday?”
“I should be free next week if that invitation extends to my friends.”
“Any friend of Jaehyun’s is a friend of mine. Can you get the football team to bring kegs again? Haechan’s throwing the party this time and he won’t shut the fuck up about it.”
“I can get the guys together to do that. I’ll text him.”
“Thanks man. Enjoy your food, guys.”

You and Mark meet up and walk to class together. He fills you in on all the bullshit Johnny and Jaehyun got into over the weekend. Something about making a short film where they switch bodies and tried to get Mark to film it.
Before you both can enter the building where your class is, the distant sound of sirens gets closer. You ignore it as you go to open the door, but Mark stops you.
“I, um, have a family emergency so I’ll miss class. Text me. Bye.” Mark weirdly stammers before giving you a quick hug.
You’re left standing in shock as he runs away.
Mark runs to the dumpster behind the university as he quickly changes into his suit. He stuffs his clothes in his backpack and webs it to a lamppost before heading into action. His spidey sense alerted him as soon as the sirens passed, and the app informed him of a fire in an apartment complex a street up.
Once he swings onto the scene, firefighters are battling the fire and evacuating the building. Mark propels himself to the top floor to check for any civilians.
You’re concerned about Mark as he left abruptly and isn’t responding to any of your texts.
you i hope your family emergency isn’t too serious
just let me know you’re ok!
we didn’t do too much in class, but i’ll send my notes
going to the library after class to print something for a class
You’ve never been to the library at 10 PM on a Tuesday night, but there’s a first time for everything. It was shitty that your printer in your dorm had to stop working last night. The first floor of the library was unsurprisingly packed with students as the university’s coffee shop was adjoined and open until 2 AM.
You got into the elevator as the printers were located on the fourth floor. The fourth floor was empty because most people preferred to keep electronic files electronic, but of course your morning class’ professor made the class print their papers to turn in.
Printing the paper was a quick task. There was certainly no line to wait in. You tuck the sacred 5-page paper into a folder to keep pristine and leave the library. You check your phone again for any word from Mark, but nothing. You go to call him, but then the elevator jerks to a stop as the light shuts off. You press the emergency call button and wait for an operator. You try calling Mark again, but your phone can’t get cell service and your battery’s dying.
Sinking to your knees, you hang your head between your hands as the ringing becomes background noise.
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
Mark rushes back to university after the fire, swiftly changing back and shoving his suit into his bag. He checks his phone to see the texts from you and calls you. When your call goes immediately to voicemail, he knows something is wrong.
The hair on the back of his neck stands up and Mark books it to the library. The first floor is filled with chatter and students looking normal so he knows that only you must be in trouble. He goes to the elevators where there’s a student waiting for one.
“Are you waiting for the elevator?”
The girl looks up from texting, “Yup, the other one isn’t working again. Ugh so annoying.”
Fuck.
The other elevator returns and Mark steps in with the girl. She presses the next floor and goes back to her phone.
A million scenarios play out in Mark’s mind. Were you claustrophobic? How long have you been stuck in the elevator? Were you alone?
The silent ride was eating him alive as every second felt like an eternity.
When the doors open and Mark basically throws himself out of the elevator as the girl walks around him, judging. Mark’s senses aren’t going off on the second or third floor, he goes up again.
The second the elevator starts moving up to the fourth floor, his senses kick in. When the doors open, Mark calls out your name. When your muffled voice responds from the neighboring elevator he sighs in relief.
“Mark, can you help me?”
“Is help on the way?”
“No.” Mark starts freaking out. “The emergency button doesn’t work, and my phone died a little while ago, but it wouldn’t even help because my service wasn’t working.”
“Why didn’t you call 911?”
“I’m not dying or in serious trouble!”
“W-what? This is an emergency! Hold on let me get someone!”
Mark runs down the hallway and quick changes into Spider-Man. He shoves his backpack behind a printer in the back corner and runs back to you.
Mark clears his throat before speaking in a lower tone, “Hi!”
“Um hi?”
“I’m going to open the elevator doors, so please stand back!”
“Okay!”
Mark places his hands in the middle of both doors as he pushes the doors open by force. After getting them open he holds out a hand to you as you look at him, well Spider-Man, in shock.
“Spider-Man?”
“Are you okay?”
You feebly nod as you allow Mark to pull you towards him.
“Are you sure you’re fine? I can take you to a clinic.”
You shake your head as Mark leads you down the stairs to the first floor while calming you down, passing confused or excited students. When both of you reach the entrance, Mark tells a skeptical security guard about the broken elevator.
Mark is about to swing away to change when you grab his hand. “Did you see my friend? He has brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a yellow hoodie?”
“I sensed there was someone in trouble and he said he was finding a janitor.”
“Thanks, I’ll go find him. And, um, thank you again.”
Mark looks into your eyes full of gratitude and sends you a wave before swinging away. He makes sure to get far enough before u-turning to the back of the library to change. 5 minutes later, he’s running around to the entrance where you are still standing in shock.
Mark pulls you into a hug as you tell him how Spider-Man saved you.

Haechan’s party was tonight, and you had no idea what you were going to wear.
Jaehyun had surprised you at 8 in morning by waking you up, endlessly calling your phone until you told him the password to open the door. A code you were going to immediately change after he leaves.
“Jae, it’s too early for any bullshit.”
He moves his sunglasses from his face to push back his hair, looking dangerously sexy. You have to shield your eyes from his blinding attractiveness.
“I need some help getting the kegs from Jungwoo.”
“Ugh,” You draw out the word as you throw one of your extra pillows at him which he catches, “I don’t want to get up.”
“Okay.” Jaehyun says as he effortlessly picks you up from your bed. “Now you’re up.”
“Put me down, Jeong.”
“Woah, not the last name. Putting you down.”
He gently sets you on your feet from the princess carry he was holding you in.
“I don’t want to know where you’re storing all that muscle to be able to pick me up.”
He smirks, “Wanna see my 8 pack?”
“Absolutely not. Now stand outside in the lobby so I can change.”
You meet him in the lobby after quickly throwing on an oversized shirt and biker shorts. You check over your bag that you have everything you need for the day – your phone, lip balm, sunscreen, your wallet, hand sanitizer, blotting sheets, and your water bottle.
“Okay, I guess I’m ready to tackle the day with you.”
“Don’t worry, we’re not doing anything too crazy.”
“I have very little trust in you at 8:30 AM.”
He puts his free hand on his chest as he fakes getting hurt, “You wound me.”
You roll your eyes in response as you start walking out of your dorm building, Jaehyun following you from behind.
Jaehyun leads the way to the football field as you walk next to him. The walk isn’t too bad and soon enough you hear various guys yelling and spot footballs flying through the air.
“Hey Jungwoo!”
A shirtless, blonde guy jogs up to the you two and dabs Jaehyun up.
“Hey Captain! I thought you weren’t coming to practice until later?” Jungwoo smiles before turning to you, “Oh, and you are?”
You politely introduce yourself as Jungwoo stares into your soul. “It’s a shame I haven’t seen your pretty face around.”
His remark takes you aback as you turn in shock to Jaehyun.
“Right? Imagine my surprise when I saw her for the first time.”
You avoid eye contact, not sure how to respond. “Um… thanks. We’re here to pick up some kegs?”
“Oh right! Let me get Yangyang.”
Jungwoo calls out to another guy behind him, thankfully he is clothed because you don’t know if you could survive another attractive, shirtless guy. He runs up as he greets you.
“I have it in my car, so follow me. Jungwoo, tell coach I went to the nurse or something.”
“Okay!”
Jungwoo jogs off to get back to practice. You and Jaehyun follow Yangyang to his car so he can drop you off at the DREAM frat house. The drive is short since the fraternity and sorority houses are near campus and the sports facilities.
Outside of the DREAM fraternity house on the front lawn are a few guys running around with water guns. The three of you get out of the car, grabbing their attention. Yangyang and Jaehyun wave at them causing one of them to run inside. As the kegs are being unloaded from the trunk, who you presume Haechan is, walks out.
The pretty boy with purple hair waves at you as he takes a hit from his neon green vape. He walks over as he blows a fat cloud into the air and pockets the vape.
He nods his head at you and leans against Yangyang’s car. “Hey.”
“Hi?”
“Are you coming to the party tonight?”
“Yeah?”
“Cool.” He wets his lips as he looks you up and down, “Wear something hot, ‘kay?”
“Okay?”
He gets off Yangyang’s car as he winks at you.
“Thanks for the kegs. I’ll get the guys to bring them into the garage.”
Haechan taps his phone causing the garage door to open showing you the set of workout equipment on the side and a black Porsche parked inside. 2 guys with blonde and Oreo hair come out from the door inside and start moving the kegs.
“Hey Shotaro! Hey Renjun!”
Jaehyun calls out as the frat bros wave back at him.
“So, are you ready to go?” Yangyang stands next to you as you nod. He opens the passenger door for you to get inside. Jaehyun sits smack in the middle in the uncomfortable seat so he can talk to you.
“What next?”
“Our pretty girl might need a shopping trip.”
You felt like the “ugly” but actually stunning main girl whose only transformation is taking off their glasses or hair out from a ponytail and it’s the makeover montage scene in a 2000s romcom. Jaehyun and Yangyang were running around in the local mall piling on different types of clothes into your arms to try on.
Two hours passed by already and you were getting sweaty from trying on the various combinations of tops, skirts or jeans, and dresses. It was annoyingly sweet of Jaehyun and Yangyang, who you just met today, to go out of their way to help you find something to wear.
“Honestly, I could find something in my closet or a thrift store.”
“If we don’t find something in the next 30 minutes I know a good thrift store.” Yangyang throws a black minidress at you and you let it hit your face.
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
As you walk down the street where Johnny parked while fixing the biker shorts under your dress.
Johnny opens the front door of the fraternity only for you to be greeted by the sight of a hundred or so people engaging in various acts of grinding, making out, drinking, or dancing to whatever playlist DJ Yangyang picked.
“Oh my god.” You walk in as Jaehyun and Johnny tail behind you, making sure to stare down anyone who looks at you in a mean or creepy way.
You smile and wave at Yangyang in the corner of the living room as he motions at your trio to come over. The three of you move through the crowd of people partying and try not to have any kind of alcohol accidentally spilling on your new outfit.
Yangyang removes the headphones from his head to his neck and talks in your ear, “You look hot!”
“Thank you! Can we get you anything?”
“Whatever has the least amount of alc by volume.”
“Got it.”
Johnny, Jaehyun, and You find the kitchen entrance behind Yangyang’s DIY DJ booth and open the various coolers filled with alcohol. Johnny helps you pick out Yangyang’s drink from the sea of canned beverages while Jaehyun gets drinks for you all.
As you walk back to give Yangyang his drink, Haechan is talking to him and spots you getting closer to them.
“Well, aren’t you a sight to behold.”
Haechan holds a handout as you take it, spinning you around him.
“That dress fits you perfectly.”
You shyly thank him as you did feel amazing in the red and black dress you bought at a thrift store after the three of you gave up at the mall earlier, but you hid the dress from them so you could pay for it. Jaehyun couldn’t stop staring at you and Johnny couldn’t stop complimenting you when they picked you up from your dorm. You felt that you needed to donate some of your old clothes to keep the good streak going.
The people around you start yelling and both of your heads turn in the direction of the kitchen when a loud crash is heard.
“Fuck. I bet someone tipped over a keg stand. Gotta go.”
He winks at you as he walks into the kitchen. You look around the room to see that J² are nowhere to be seen.
you hey!! where did you guys go??
johnny we’re upstairs hanging with mark
johnny jeno and jaemin are coming down to get u
You stand by the end of the staircase as you scroll on your phone when someone taps the back of your shoulder. Turning around to see 2 more beautiful guys as they smile at you. The guy with black hair and an undercut introduces himself as Jeno and the guy with brown hair introduces himself as Jaemin.
J² sent 2J to get you. Funny.
They kindly escort you upstairs, down a hallway on the left, and to the room at the end. The door has a sign that says
“HAECHANNIE’S ROOM!
LADIES - FREE
GUYS - $20”
You knock on the door and walk in after Johnny says it’s open.
“Hey.” You greet Johnny, Jaehyun, and Mark who are sitting on the bed with various drinks and snacks surrounding them. Mark moves a reuseable bag full of chips so you can sit next to him as Jeno and Jaemin sit on beanbags.
“So, how’s the party going for y’all?” You ask the frat bros as you dig into a bag of your favorite chips.
Jeno and Jaemin jump into a story of how Renjun challenged Haechan and Shotaro to a keg stand contest where Shotaro won and Haechan complained the rest of the time setting up. Haechan also must carry out a dare later tonight, but Renjun is keeping it a secret.
During the story, you keep looking at Mark to see his expressions throughout the story time. You like him, you realized this after Spider-Man saved you in the elevator, the way Mark comforted you and stayed with you the entire night. Even sleeping on the pull-out bed attached to your bed that was a little too small for him. Mark was paying attention to the story, but right after 2J finished telling the story, he abruptly gets up and runs out the room.
“Is Mark okay?” You ask bewildered as the rest of the guys are nonchalant.
“Oh yeah, Mark does this a lot.” Jaemin tells you as he takes a sip of his beer.
“Really?”
Johnny nods, “Yeah ever since the start of last year Mark’s been really weird like weirder than usual.”
“And stronger for some reason.” Jaehyun adds. “We started working out together last semester. When he thought I wasn’t looking, he maxed out the bench press. I can’t do that and I’m active in sports.”
“So now we think he’s doing steroids.”
“Dude don’t say that.”
“Kidding,” Johnny says as he looks at you. “But there is something going on… like he’s keeping a secret from us.”
“Are you insinuating that Mark is Spider-Man?”
Johnny shrugs. “I didn’t say that, but I also did not not say that.”
“I think you’ve had too much to drink, dude.”
“I’m literally sober. I have to drive you and Jaehyun home tonight.”
As you’re handing Johnny a bottle of water, Shotaro opens the door.
“Johnny or Jaehyun, can you please talk Haechan out of jumping from the roof into the pool.”
The two oldest guys let out a sigh as they get up to stop Haechan from doing something stupid and getting hurt.
₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸⋆。₊✩。🕷˚🕸。
Your little group stands outside on the pool deck as people crowd around the pool chanting at Haechan to “jump”. Johnny and Jaehyun are sticking their head out of someone’s room scolding a tipsy Haechan who is standing near the ledge. It’s only 7 feet between the roof and the pool, but the pool is another 6 feet to dive into and the entire situation just screams “danger” to you.
Haechan is getting dangerously close to the edge causing Johnny to step out onto the roof as Jaehyun holds one of his hands.
“Haechan, we’re bringing you inside.”
“No.” He puffs a cloud of vape into Johnny’s face.
“You’re being an asshole, get in.”
Haechan’s balance is off because as he steps back a bit, his right foot misses the ledge. You can’t watch. The crowd is yelling. You look away only to see a figure jump over the fence.
Spider-Man thwips a web to put an inflatable pool floatie a foot of the ground with another floatie under it to cushion Haechan’s fall. Thankfully, Haechan falls right on the floatie and is safe from breaking a bone or something worse on the concrete.
“Are you okay?” The masked hero asks Haechan as he helps him stand up and check his body.
An eerily similar situation that mirrors exactly what Mark did when you were almost hit by a basketball.
Rushing over to Haechan, you hug him as you’re actively scolding him.
“Never do that ever again! You could have broken your legs or spine or died!”
“Excuse me.” Spider-Man clears his throat as you turn your head to him. “Are you a friend of his?”
“Yes.”
“It would be best to check that he doesn’t have any injuries and keep him inside.”
“Johnny’s probably going to bubble wrap him now.”
“I have to go now but have a good night.”
Spider-Man waves you and everyone else at the party bye as the crowd cheers for him. He then swings out of DREAM’s backyard as Johnny, Jaehyun, Jeno, and Jaemin meet you outside. They all hug Haechan and scold him as well.
“You’re cut off.”
“Seriously?” Haechan whines.
“From everything. End of discussion.”
Most of the crowd disperses inside to tell or show their friends a video of Spider-Man saving Haechan. You’re putting the pool floaties back in the pool when you almost fall in.
“Hey–woah there!”
You look wide up at Mark, who appeared out of nowhere, holding your waist to stop you from accidentally falling in the pool.
“Mark! Thanks for saving me.”
“Anytime.”
You stand back up away from the pool ledge as you smile at Mark. You notice that he’s sweating a bit.
“Could we head inside? I, um, wanted to ask you something.”
He nods his head as the two of you walk inside and then upstairs where there aren’t that many people. You hear commotion in the hallway that leads to Haechan’s room. You’re both curious, so you walk down the hallway to see Jaehyun standing guard outside his room.
“What is happening?”
“Johnny is inside making sure Haechan can’t escape out his window. Well, if he can get out of the bubble wrap duct taped to his body.”
“Figures. Mark and I are going to talk in someone’s room.”
“Oh?” Jaehyun gives you a look.
“We’re not going to fuck in someone’s bed.”
“Sure it isn’t.”
Mark blushes as you grab his hand to walk away down the other hallway. You spot Shotaro standing outside his door.
“Hey Shotaro! Can we borrow your room to talk quickly?”
“Yeah! Just lock the door after and find me at the DJ booth when you’re done. I don’t want a repeat of the first day of summer party where someone threw up in my bed.”
“Of course, and don’t worry, we won’t fuck in your bed.”
You make Shotaro speechless and Mark blushes even harder. You open the door to Shotaro’s room and get inside. His room is cutely decorated with pictures of him alongside the rest of the fraternity and tiny little trinkets sprinkled throughout. The window is open and as you look out of it you can see that his room overlooks the grassy area beside the pool.
A thought comes into your head as you look at Mark who is sitting on Shotaro’s bed across from you.
“I’ve got a lot to say so please hear me out for its entirety.” He nods his head as you stand in front of him. “Mark, I have a crush on you. I thought you were cute the first time I saw you after that basketball almost took me out. I was so excited when we ended up sharing a class together and you sat next to me the next class after we met. Then when you comforted me after Spider-Man saved me. That was the moment I knew that I liked you. I like you, Mark. Maybe even more than that.”
He stares at you awestruck.
“It’s okay if you don’t like me back. Hope we can still be friends no matter what. I just want you to know.”
“I like you too. A lot. I liked you ever since I almost accidentally hit you with a basketball. I liked you when you were excited when you found out we shared a class. I liked you when you saved a seat for me and let me borrow your water bottle. I was so happy when you were safe from being trapped in an elevator. I really like you and, if you want to, I hope we can date.”
“I would love to date you, Mark, but now I’m going to do something that might ruin our relationship before it even starts?”
Mark looks adorably confused as you walk backwards to stand in front of the window.
“You know that I also have a crush on Spider-Man. And I’ve had this hunch since he saved me in the elevator. I didn’t realize it when it was happening due to the adrenaline, but then thinking back on it – when you left while we were walking to class that one time for a “family emergency” and Spider-Man had been spotted right helping firefighter put out a nearby fire. Then, I got stuck in the library elevator and Spider-Man miraculously came to save me. Sure, it could have been a coincidence since the fire was near the university, but I wasn’t in that dire of a situation. I could’ve waited for you to find me after I texted you. Then, just right now, you leave as we’re talking with 4J then when Haechan is in danger Spider-Man shows up in the nick of time to save him? In every situation I brought up, you were there then gone, Spider-Man shows up then leaves, and then you’re back? Never in the same room to witness the masked hero. Something’s not adding up.”
“Am I Spider-Man?” Mark asks while nervously laughing. “You mean you think I’m Spider-Man?”
“I’d bet my life on it.” You tell him seriously as you sit on the window ledge.
“That’s serious.”
“I am serious.”
You continue getting farther out of the window as you possibly can.
Mark slowly stands up, “What are you doing?”
“If I’m wrong… have 9-1-1 ready.”
You then lean back as you fall out of Shotaro’s window hearing Mark yell your name, you barely have your entire body out the window when you stop moving. Opening your eyes, bunches of white strings surround your head and shoulders – Mark slowly brings you back inside Shotaro’s room.
The silence between the two of you is deafening until you open your mouth.
“I fucking knew it.”
Marks hugs you tightly. “Please… never do that again. You scared me.”
“Do you still like me?”
“D-Do I still like you? Yes, I still like you very much.”
“I scared you that bad, huh?”
“What if I wasn’t Spider-Man? Then what? You fall and die?”
“I wouldn’t have done it unless I was sure. Would a kiss make you feel better?”
“A kiss away from the window and maybe on solid ground would.”

Did you hear about joannes going bankrupt? Do you have any thoughts on that?
(Quick note so no one um actually's me: I'm aware that not all bankruptcy is Chapter 11. Thank you)
As a crafter, I'll say: oh dear, that's going to make shopping harder.
As a person who was aware of the insides of how that company was running, I'm going to say, "about fucking time."
See, here's what was happening with Joann. Problem #1 was that they stopped taking the "you have to spend money to make money," mentality and applying it to labor. A store is not about the products or the customers. The life of a store, the thing that keeps it beating, is the employees who serve the customer and serve the corporate ownership.
When they first started notably cutting labor, the store did have a lot of driven, passionate people who were willing to pick up the slack. It's possible to cut the freight shift one night a week when you have daytime floor associates who can do the freight when there's no customers immediately needing help. You can expect store managers to clean and recover the store, because it's a task that keeps them free to disconnect from when a store needs a manager to be acting as a manager. You can expect any free employee to fill in at the register or cut counter to cover a break or a lunch or fill in during a high-customer time. The store had a lot of employees who didn't mind doing some multitasking, and didn't mind being completely busy from the start of the shift until the very end.
However, when these labor cuts proved to be an effective way to save the store money, the amount of multitasking, and the amount of expecting one shift to cover for cuts made to another shift, started going up. It was no longer cutting the freight shift one day a week. It was cutting the freight shift until it was ONLY one day a week.
And that's where they made the big mistake in labor load. Instead of, "serve the customers, and do these tasks when you have time," it became, "do the task, and serve the customers if they demand your attention." A store is not the customers; it's the people who work in the store. But one of the key players in a retail store's staffing is the employees for whom making the customers happy is their primary drive. The way that stores were staffed, people whose primary drive was to serve customers were not allowed to adequately do so to reach customer satisfaction.
We need to add to this that, in addition to demanding more from every employee, Joann corporate has several of their demands on employees to be automatically measured. Customer response surveys, ship-from-store fulfillment, buy online pickup in store response times, number of remnants that were rolled to be sold, all of that can be sent to corporate with a pass/fail number assigned to it. Other elements of the store, like how much freight from a box actually makes it onto the shelf on time, or if a wheelchair can navigate the store, are not measured. This means that the company prescribes which tasks will actually be done and which can be shoved in the back for later. With the work load that was being put on employees, corporate decided that the ONLY tasks that should get done are ones that have specific metrics tied to them.
Employees whose drive is to help customer, who are not permitted to help the customers asking for help, will quit and go to a place where customers actually come first. Employees who are okay with doing two people's jobs, but who are asked to do three jobs, will leave to a place where they only have to do one job. Employees who have worked for the company for 4 years and never received a raise despite being praised for excellent work will go to a job where they get paid more. And suddenly, the only people who are left are the people who aren't overworked, because they're the people who will only do one job no matter how much demanding corporate has for them.
The last two years that I was at Joann, there were tons of employees asking or begging for more hours. It was not that they couldn't hire people. It's that they wouldn't assign labor hours. Employees who would happily work 35-40 hours a week, but who are assigned three hours a week, will leave and find a job where they can get a consistent number of hours. When they made all floor managers part time, a lot of people who had been with the company for years left to get more hours or some health insurance.
But, despite all of this, corporate never said, "if we put more people on the floor, our customers will be happier, and will spend more money." They still continued to treat labor as an unnecessary expense that should be limited. Why put more people on the floor when you can just overwork the people who bothered to show up for work today?
So, weirdly enough, that business model was absolutely not working for them, and it's all come crashing down. Damn right, as it should be. Respect the people who work for you, and they'll work for you. Take away the things that they're there to do, and they'll go somewhere else. Simple math.
Also, in the last decade, the fact is that, "Joann has a lot of coupons, so I can save money!" changed in the eye of the public into, "Joann is overpriced unless you know how to play the coupon game."
So yeah. I'm not surprised, and I hope their restructuring does good things for the employees who work there. Hell knows they need it, because their current system just proved that it cannot survive in that state.

How To Better Your Overall High School Experience From A Recently Passed Out Student
No drama, absolutely no drama. Don't get into trouble, it stirs negative emotions which is a waste of time.
It's not high school musical. I seriously am saying this, you won't just have "problems" that can be solved by just working together. Not everyone would be willing to be your friend/solve problems etc. Be okay with that.
Catch up on homework/assignments/tests/projects. Everything is so much easier when you actually are doing the work on time. Don't pile your work up until it becomes a mountain you can't climb without breaking down.
Don't take everything as "I'll manage" or "it's easy". Newsflash? The really important topic that you thought you'd wing it by studying the day before is actually way more complex and harder. So, take your books and do sit and study.
Stay with positive people. Your friends determine your energy. The people you surround yourself with represent your energy and mindset. So, choose friends wisely. Have a good friend circle.
Sleep on time. This is honestly one of the things i had difficulty in following because sometimes there's too much to do and absolutely no time. But is still say this because it's not impossible. I made sure to sleep before 11 or 12. Max would be 12:30.
Do courses! Lots and lots of them. The reason why i suggest this is because it literally enhanced my experience and my learning journey. It also gives you better opportunities during college admissions and for job interviews.
Have an idea of what you want to do in college and choose subjects accordingly. If you just entered High School and are in a position where you have to choose your subjects. Sit back and think "What am i going to do in college?" (I live in a place where what subjects you pick in high school would only open up opportunities in those fields.)
Choose subjects wisely and make sure to have a variety of subjects. Like languages, practical based and memorization based so you have options and won't get easily bored.
Build career paths. How? I again recommend courses. Even online courses like Coursera and Edx can highly make you experienced in your desired field. It's a roadway for more opportunities.
Save! Even if it is a dollar. Save money for things that you don't know you need in the future. It might help you. More than you think it would.
Build habits. Good habits. Waking up early, reading, exercising. Anything really. And be consistent with it.
Read! When i say this. I mean it. Read Everything. Self help books, business books, finance, romance, fantasy, dystopian, fiction, biographies. You don't know how this makes you develop into a another category of improvement. If you don't like reading, listen to audiobooks and podcasts.
Explore. Seriously. Be open minded. Everything is interesting but you must make it interesting.
Extra curriculars are a must. I seriously mean it, i don't remember much about academic achievements but i do remember all the main events and awards from clubs and competitions. That also doesn't mean you join everything under the sun, something interests you. Join it. If it doesn't, then don't.
Even if your friends aren't passionate about improvement etc, you can be friends with them. It doesn't mean they're bad, it just means that your goals differ. You can still be friends with them.
Don't drag out fights between friends or anyone. There's nothing wrong with cutting off from fights, it saves a lot of energy
Always lend an ear to others, friend or not. People remember others who are good to them so be nice. It doesn't hurt much. If someone needs help. help them.
Have some network beyond school (from other schools if you go for extra competitions or anything) I found it extremely helpful
Don't party (not too much). Personally, i don't believe too much in FOMO. Like, everyone around me participates in every small event, parties and what not. The trick is to join things you actually want and not just because you think you'll miss out. If you join every party/event, you'll likely won't be able to differentiate between the things that actually matter because everything looks the same.
Don't drink. That's what I'll always say. It's actually pretty bad for you, not only can you result in a bad hangover on a Monday morning but also actually mess up your body from the inside.
Don't do relationships. (at least in my opinion, it's an invitation for unwanted drama from what I've seen with my friends. it's messy)
Speak up in class (It can be difficult, but you must do it from time to time, it will boost confidence). You don't have to answer every time really. I spent my entire life sitting silently knowing the answers to every question but I chose not to say it.
Explore your aesthetic. Literally.
Cut your hair, wear rings, go emo or goth or cheerleader style. Hell, mix them. No one cares. Even if they do, does it really matter?
Take mental health days. I literally had 3-4 days a month for just resting. My sister and I would take days off together to watch tv shows and movies.
Talk to freshers, sophomores, juniors and seniors. (Honestly, I really love when my juniors come and talk to me, it feels nice, and you'll actually help them. we seniors aren't that bad)
There's no such thing as not cool (except when you disrespect somebody).
Don't start fights, if you find yourself in one, apologize and move on. Unnecessary drama really.
And don't gossip/talk bad about anyone. Once, my friend literally asked me, "Don't you freaking hate anyone from the class?" and i just said, "Hating someone requires energy, i don't want to waste my time and energy on that. Even if i hate them, i don't really have to advertise it."
Get familiar with your circle.. Honestly, i am a very quiet person, I didn't start getting comfortable with my group until like 3 months into senior year. It took me 1 and a half years to get comfortable with them.
It is totally fine to have a small circle of friends. It's also okay to have a large circle of friends. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Don't back answer a teacher. Teachers have impressions and if you back answer. That definitely leaves a bad impression. And you don't want that.
Have a memory book or anything for the last day of high school (I didn't want to keep a book because you had to spend weeks giving it to everyone so when we had a high school party, I took one of my scarfs and made people sign it and write a short message)
Don't give in to peer pressure. Honestly, it's fine if you don't do or like something.

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #410
Today was a normal day, mostly. I woke up, and I got a lovely picture of the snow outside before leaving:

I wasn't able to get pictures of all the cookies and sweets I baked because between being busy the whole time and poor Tr needing someone to listen to her as she spoke on the difficult things happening for her at home, I just didn't have an opportunity. I'm sorry about that.
The four hours of my shift passed by in a flash. I'm pretty sure An was there today, but I didn't see him, and I was a little sad about that. The new manager, Dy, popped by, though – both to ask me if I needed help with anything, and to offer Tr a little bit of comfort. Apparently, he has been going around from department to department, learning about how everyone does their jobs so that he can be a more effective leader. This bodes really well, I think.
...I feel extra silly that I initially mistrusted him.
I had an idea about building a cookie grid; I struggle with spacing the cookies and turnovers evenly on the cookie trays due to the dyspraxia, so I thought that if I built a tool, then I can just put the cookies down without thinking about it, which will make life easier for anyone who is assigned that task. He suggested that it should be built out of plastic so that it can be washed. Today, I got the measurements for the parchment paper our bakery uses, and with that, I should be able to plan out something cool using graph paper! We'll see how it goes!
I picked up some groceries after my shift, went home, and put them away. After that, M, J, and I went together to this store called The Fat Crow. It's closing permanently after February 28th, and I'm more than a little sad that I only heard about it recently. There were some teas that I saw in their online store that I wanted. They didn't have them; I'll have to get them from the manufacturer. But in the meantime, I did get these...

...The Cross-Eyed Owl. The Fat Crow. Hahaha... It's significant for reasons I dare not explain in this space. But maybe you'd understand even without an explanation.
I took a couple nice pictures on my way home. And then I relaxed in my art room for a while. It really is a much nicer space now that I've rearranged it. And without the tension from the conflict on Tuesday, it really does feel like a safe and wholesome space in here.

I wish you could come by. I'd put on some tunes and teach you how to crochet wisteria blossoms. Something tells me you'd like that. Especially if I brought you up some nice hot tea.
Oh, speaking of which, I did make a tea today. Here:

Oh, and!! I got some pictures of the cats yesterday, too, that I think you'll like.

And a video of the snowfall yesterday, too...
youtube
...I hope you like it. I know your body is probably up at the Northern Crater or whatever, but... I dunno when is the last time you got to see falling snow.
M and J and I finally went to the reopened Chinese buffet. M didn't like it, but I did. I wonder if, since we went late, maybe it's just that the food wasn't very fresh anymore.
I got a really great picture of the moon, and a little sparkly friend next to it:

...I'm not sure what object the sparkly friend was. But... it was like a little friend who came by to hold the moon's hand for a while. I liked that little story I wove, so I'm gonna stick with it.
I want to write more. But J wants to take me to the ice runway tomorrow at super early in the morning. I'm looking forward to it, but... I need to get to sleep.
I love you so much. Please stay safe out there in the world, okay?
I'll write again tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have some cool pictures then, too.
Your friend, Lumine

[RGG Online Translation] Scratcher Event · Creed of the Half-Baked Man (Kido & Arai)
Summary: Shortly after joining Kanemura Enterprises, Kido works hard under Arai's tutelage to be recognised as a full-fledged member of the group. His work pays off when he's finally assigned his first solo collection by the captain. His spirits high, Kido sets off to collect the cash, but... Featured Characters: Takeshi Kido, Hiroaki Arai Spoilers?: The opening narration gives away something that happens in the first hour of Yakuza 4. Otherwise, this is a prequel, and contains no spoilers!
On this episode, Kido's bizarre luck with schmoney takes a turn for the worse.
Kido is low-key one of my favourites characters, so I was delighted to find that he got a scratcher event while I was busy having my brain rotted by MMO's. I was extra delighted to find him bringing the pathetic failboy energy for this one!
(Akiyama isn't in this story btw, despite what the banner might indicate. He was released as a KSR that got bonus points during the event.)
Usual Disclaimer: I'm coming at this with little more than crude Japanese knowledge, a machine translation cocktail, and an insatiable desire for more RGG content. This will by no means be a decent translation, but it should at least be serviceable.
------------------
Narration: Before the shooting of Ihara by Arai Hiroaki of Kanemura Enterprises, a direct affiliate of the Shibata Group of the Tojo Clan...
Narration: This was when Arai had not yet become the captain. Soon after his younger apprentice, Takeshi Kido, joined Kanamura Enterprises...
Arai: [frown] ...Wait!
Rough-looking Guy: Hah... hah... Who would wait for you!
[he runs down an alleyway]
Rough-looking Guy: Hah... Hah...
Kido: [smile] It's a dead end, man.
Rough-looking Guy: !? You... You're Arai's lackey!?
Kido: [frown] I ain't his lackey, I'm his disciple! Ha!
[he charges at the rough-looking guy]
Rough-looking Guy: Gah...
[the Rough-looking Guy goes down]
Kido: Heh, idiot. That's what you get for borrowing money from us and then trying to run away.
Arai: ...Kido. Did you catch him?
Kido: Yep. He was acting up, so I gave him a good smack.
Arai: [smirk] Alright... now we can calm down and have a little chat. Let's discuss those fees that you're behind on.
Rough-looking Guy: Guh... Damnit...
------------------
Kido: Daaamn, Arai-aniki's guidance was perfect.
Arai: [smirk] ...You did a good job catching him too.
Kido: [smile] Hehehe... I'm confident in my strength.
Kanemura Enterprises Captain: ...I hear you managed to collect the debt from that delinquent. Great work, Arai. Even the boss praised you.
Arai: ...It's thanks to Kido, too.
Kanemura Enterprises Captain: Heh, I see. How's it going with him? Think he's ready to stand on his own two feet?
Arai: [surprised] What?
Kanemura Enterprises Captain: See, there's a funeral tomorrow for my kyoudai in Tochigi, and I want you to go on my behalf. I was thinking of having Kido collect money in the territory by himself tomorrow. What do you think, Kido?
Kido: Yes! Leave it to me, captain! [smile] I've collected money plenty of times with Arai-aniki, so I can handle it just fine on my own!
Kanemura Enterprises Captain: Heh, good answer. Well then, Arai, I'll have you go to Tochigi tomorrow.
Arai: [frown] Understood. Kido... you're in charge of collections tomorrow. Just keep on your toes, okay?
Kido: Yes! I'll keep my guard up!
[the other two leave]
Kido: (Yes! Finally, entrusted with a job of my own! I'm a real professional now! I'll keep on like this, and eventually I'll be just like Arai-aniki!)
------------------
Narration: The next day...
Kido: ...Alright, I've visited all the stores under our watch. Now I just have to bring this cash back to the office. [surprised] But damn... this is a lot of money. Way more than what I'm getting paid.
Kido: (...Someday I'll be earning even more than this... that's why I became a yakuza. I've been helping out Arai-aniki a lot, and I'm already being asked to do work on my own... I might be even closer than I thought... hehehe...)
Thug: ...Haah!
[the Thug hits Kido with an iron bat]
Kido: [surprised] Guh...!
[Kido collapses]
Thug: Hehe... that's dangerous, bro. Walking around this town with an envelope full of cash.
Thug's Friend A: ...Hey. This envelope... it's from Kanemura Enterprises, right? This guy... isn't he a yakuza?
Thug's Friend B: Seriously...? Hey, this is bad. What do we do?
Thug: Don't freak out... There's nothing he can do, he didn't see our faces. If we book it now, we won't get found out.
Thug's Friend B: Y-Yeah...
Kido: W...Wait...Ah...
[screen fades to black]
Kido: Shit... this is pathetic... What was I thinking, walking around without a care in the world... with that important money... Thought I was becoming a professional, but this is what happens the first time I work alone...
Kido: If I think about it... Things have only been going well because Arai-aniki has been smart and made good decisions... So in the end... I thought I'd become a full-fledged adult, but I'm just half-baked... Damnit...
Kido: [pained] ...Aah...! Ugh... that hurt... that feeling... was that a bat? Shit... they didn't hold back...
Kido: How many hours was I out... Sky's still bright, so it can't have been that long...? [frown] Anyway... I gotta get that money back quick!
Kido: [pained] (But who the hell were those guys... I didn't even see their faces... I can just barely remember their voices... No, I can't even say that. If I heard them again, I don't think I'd recognise them... Only other thing I remember is seeing their shoes before I passed out... their sneakers were made by Barquino. But I was so dazed, I can't remember the exact design... There's plenty of guys wearing Barquino sneakers. That won't be enough to find them.)
[Note: The katakana here is "barukino". Going by a Japanese RGGO blog I found, this is an old term for Barcelona, and is likely supposed to be a made-up foreign brand.]
Kido: How the hell am I supposed to find them...
Kido: [surprised] I got it... If I ask aniki, he'll have some good ideas. I'll contact him... [pained] ...No, I can't. If I contact aniki... If I do that... [frown] ...I've got to get that money back on my own.
Kido: (But...What should I do... How do I find those guys...)
Kido: [surprised] ...Wait a sec... I don't know their faces, but they'll know mine. If I can take advantage of that...
------------------
Thug: Hehe, let's go to the arcade next.
Thug's Friend A: Hell yeah... Hey, wait. That's...
Thug: ...I think I'll skip the arcade and head to karaoke instead.
???: Hey, wait a minute.
Thugs: ...!
Kido: [frown] You're the punks who attacked me. You stole my group's money... and I'm here to get it back.
Thug: !? Wh— How did you know... It couldn't be... you saw my face!?
Thug's Friend A: Oi! You said we wouldn't get caught! L-Let's get out of here!
Kido: [smile] Oops... not letting you do that. [frown] And your reaction... seems you really are the culprits.
Thug: What?
Kido: Sadly, I didn't get to see your faces. All I remember is that your shoes were Barquino. But, I figured you guys would know my face. [smile] So I hunted down anyone wearing Barquino shoes, and waited for them to run away if they saw me.
Thug: What the... That's cheating...!
Kido: [frown] Heh... you fell right into my trap.
Kido: (...Well, I did get it wrong a few times, and wasted time dealing with civilians... Guess I can't be as smart as Arai-aniki after all.)
Kido: ...Anyway, I'm taking my money back.
Thug: ...Tch...
[Thug's Friend A shoves Kido aside]
Kido: [surprised] ...!
[the thugs all run off]
Kido: [frown] Oi! Wait!
------------------
Kido: ...Wait! Don't think you can get away... huh!?
Thug: Heh... Lemme repeat what you said earlier. "You fell right into my trap".
Older Thug: Yooo... what's with that guy?
Thug: He's the owner of the cash I just gave you! He's come to take it back!
Older Thug: I see... Guess we have no choice but to fight back. Oi, everyone. Let's go.
Group Of Thugs: Yeah!
Thug: Heh, sorry, but I've already split the cash between all my friends. If you want it back, you'll have to go through all of us!
Kido: [pained] You split it all up? ...Ugh... what a hassle...
Group Member: Stop fooling around, asshole!
[the Group Member tries to whack Kido with his bat, but Kido dodges!]
Group Member: !?
Kido: [frown] Not this time!
[Kido charges at the Group Member]
Group Member: Gwah...
[Group Member collapses]
Kido: And now... [smile] I don't know how much he took, so I'll just nab his wallet. [surprised] Hm? There's a weird ticket in here... Ah, whatever.
[Note: A cheeky reference to this being a scratch ticket event]
Kido: Alright then... The rest of you, come at me. I need to head back, so I'll be taking that money real quick.
Thug: Don't fuck with me! That money is ours now!
Older Thug: That's right... If anyone tries to take it from us, even if they're a Yakuza, we'll kill them!!!
[Kido kicks their asses]
Thug: ...He's... too strong...
[they all collapse]
Kido: [pained] ...Hah...hah... Tch, took me a long time to get through all of them... Shit, it's already getting dark! I need to get this money back to the office...!
------------------
Kido: ...I'm back.
Arai: ...
Kido: [surprised] Aniki, you're back already?
Arai: Yes... It took you a long time to collect the money. [frown] You're covered in bruises, and your clothes are a wreck... What on earth happened?
Kido: [pained] Well... The thing is, I was jumped by a group of gangsters on the way back from collection. They took the money, and I was getting it back until now...
Arai: Did you manage to recover it?
Kido: Yes. I got it all back.
Arai: ...I see. So... why didn't you report this earlier? I've always told you to report anything immediately.
Kido: [pained] Sorry... but, I really didn't want you to help me, aniki.
Arai: [surprised] What? You didn't want my help?
Kido: ...That's right. Actually... I felt like I was finally standing on my own two feet. I was working hard with you, and was even given a job to do on my own. I thought I was doing well... but then I got beaten up by that punk, and I realised... I'm still just a novice. I'm still relying on you, Arai-aniki.
Arai: ...
Kido: [frown] I felt like... if I couldn't at least get the money back on my own, then I wouldn't grow at all. I'd fall further and further behind you, and eventually be left behind... So, instead of depending on you, I tried to wipe my own ass for once.
Arai: ...I understand why you did it, but what would you have done if things hadn't worked out? If you weren't able to get the money back, and the perpetrators got away because you were late in reporting the theft... would you have been able to bear that responsibility? Kido: [pained] I...
Arai: Besides that, I heard you were causing a disturbance with civilians at Theatre Square. Was that to catch the thief?
Kido: Ah... yeah. That's right. I missed the mark a few times, and got wrapped up with people who had nothing to do with the theft.
Arai: [frown] ...Regardless of your reason, you caused a public disturbance. Didn't you consider how your behavior would reflect poorly on Kanemura Enterprises?
Kido: [pained] U-Um... I'm sorry.
Arai: In the end, all you did was take an unnecessary risk and cause trouble for the group. [frown] With how reckless you were, you're lucky you got the money back at all.
Kido: ...
Arai: I don't care how resolved you were to solving this by yourself. This incident won't improve your standing. [frown] If anything, it's just convinced me that you're still too inexperienced to work on your own.
Kido: [pained] ...I understand.
Arai: ...And because I'm your aniki, it's up to me to take care of you.
Arai: [smirk] Speaking personally, I don't hate that bullheadedness of yours.
Kido: [surprised] ...! A-Aniki...
Arai: Next time, give me a proper report. Understood?
Kido: [smile] Got it...!
Arai: ...Hey, you haven't eaten yet, have you?
Kido: [pained] Oh, yeah... I didn't have time to... Honestly, I'm starving...
Arai: [smirk] Heh... In that case, I'll be buying. After that, we can have a drink. We haven't had one in a while.
Kido: [surprised] ...Eh? Really?!
Arai: Yes, really. Let's go.
Kido: [smile] Yes, aniki!

𝑹𝑶𝑳𝑳 𝑪𝑨𝑳𝑳! Meet the study group!

𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑪𝑼𝑷𝑰𝑫𝑺! More like the failures, but oh well..
These poor kids are trying to help, really. They aren't actively trying to make things worse for Y/N, they just unintentionally do! All the time! Constantly! But that's okay, what's a study group without the group? Then again, what's the study group without the studying??
𝑵𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒓𝒂 is super active on social media, she posts selfies, shopping hauls. She tweets whatever she wants, no shame. She's close with Y/N, Yuji & Megumi, and even though Y/N is constantly studying she tries to go out of her way to see her.
𝑴𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒎𝒊 doesn't post a lot, he usually talks about assignments, posts pictures of his dogs or replies to his friends. Almost has every single class with Y/N and thus, they see each other a lot. Which works out, since they're both pretty focused on their classes, they help each other out often. Hates Sukuna. Bro stares too much.
𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒊 doesn't use social media much at all, she's only there to check out Nobara's posts (they are dating <3) and occasionally to rant. She also does check in on her other friends from time to time. Surprisingly, she hasn't spoken to Y/N yet. Maki's just too busy and Y/N is always studying, but they'll eventually meet when Nobara finally has an excuse to drag one of them away towards the other.
𝑻𝒐𝒈𝒆 is just a professional yapper. He has most of his followers from bullying kids on roblox and posting the clips online sometimes. He's besties with Yuta and him & Rika jokingly throw hands with each other publicly but it's all in good fun. Toge is also a selective mute, and he really only talks around his closest friends.
𝒀𝒖𝒕𝒂 made an account after Toge harassed him to, and he doesn't post too often unless its photography from his travels. Takes his studies probably the most serious, with Megumi right after him. He still manages to balance studying and his social life which surprises a lot of people. He's dating Rika, but she doesn't go to their university. Was Y/N's original study buddy! They never hung out outside of studying though.
𝑼𝒓𝒂𝒖𝒎𝒆 only really made an account to follow Sukuna. Technically, uraume is not a part of the study group. But they're Sukuna's best friend, so they tend to show up around him often. They don't really need the extra studying, but they do have some classes with Y/N. Not really friends, not really enemies, they don't care too much.

Hi do you have anymore swapfell sans x reader?I don’t mind if it’s a one shot or multi chapter.Fluff preferably smut is acceptable no angst please.
Howdy, thanks for asking! Here are some fics that might fit what you're looking for!
WeirdTober 2020 (Because My Therapist Seems To Think Writing is Good For Me) by PineconeTrinklebriar (Teen And Up, Complete)
Your love of the macabre has served you well for most of your life. Well, maybe ‘served you well’ was a strong statement, but it had landed you a rewarding job that you got to work side-by-side with the love of your life, your best friend, and your other best friend, so you weren’t about to start complaining now. Sure, it made for a tough middle school experience, back when people were still burning witches, but you survived and had very few physical scars to show for it.
Black as Pitch by YinYanChan (Mature, Incomplete)
During a time that bitties have been bred with even human killing abilities in illegal kennels for bitty fights. Bitties are still not considered people or even regular monsters...just things or pets in the eyes of the law. One night you managed to save the life of a helpless edgy bitty from a blackberry bitty named Pitch and his gang. By saving the poor Edgy and finding out just how many problems he had to cause him to be in such a situation to begin with led you to the life you have now. You've become a licensed bitty therapist in hopes of reaching out to the abused, the neglected, and street worn bitties and giving them a chance at a better life. With your supportive and loving edgy bitty by your side years later down the road you should have know that eventually the past would come back to claim you after all your life no longer belongs to you.
Play with Me by grimrester (Explicit, Incomplete)
When you decide to pursue your childhood dream of running an arcade, the developing monster city at the top of Mount Ebott seems like an obvious choice to set up shop. The community is growing quickly, you'd have very little competition, and commercial renting space is dirt cheap. The only problem is you've never run a business by yourself before, and you're not very good with numbers. When you find a monster accountant advertising his services online, you jump at the chance to work with him. The skeleton seems formal, professional, and detached, which is just fine by you. Who needs the distractions of friendships and relationships when you've got a business to run?
Skeletons Like Honey Buns by YinYanChan (Not Rated, Incomplete)
Monsters have always lived on the surface. Just not with humans. Keeping to themselves and living up the hype they are dangerous and wild creatures. Sans and Papyrus are just as guilty. Yet both have been intrigued on how humans have grown... they know better than getting mixed up too much with humans... however... they end up crossing a line and getting severely injured. As a last ditch effort to get away, Rus shortcuts him and his brother away from the aftermath. So wounded they almost end up feral and eating out of a nearby house's trash to try and heal... enter Amelia, your kind hearted daughter, to find it's not trash pandas but spooky scary skeletons... and instead of running to you... she offers them a honey bun.
Nox X Reader Oneshot: Ducks, Glue Sticks, and Sleep Deprivation by Chance36 (Mature, Complete)

I redrew this old art piece.
...and here is the full story, which I have never published. (They are in class 1a, after they got their provisional licences)
White Clover
Katsuki's lungs were burning.
No matter what he did, the itching in his throat would not disappear.
He was fucked. He knew he was fucked, but he'd rather die than tell anybody what was going on. Hell, he would just have to destroy those damn flowers before they escaped his mouth. It's been three months and he was managing, somehow. Hot water and some suspicous pills he purchased online helped him to slow down the process, but he knew if he didn't act, he would die. It would be fine. He was Katsuki fucking Bakugou. Something like this won't – can't stop him from becoming a hero.
The most annoying part? He didn't know who caused all of this shit. Katsuki has never loved anyone. What the fuck was he supposed to do? It didn't help that he couldn't find the damn flowers and their meaning online. They were disgustingly covered in blood and saliva and they looked disgusting and everything was disgusting and-
"...Kacchan?"
Izuku pulled Katsuki out of his thoughts. "Fuck you, Deku. What do you want?" "I – I was just worried...you don't – you don't look so well." Of course this fucking nerd couldn't just leave him alone. Can't you feel my burning throat? Katsuki wanted to yell, but instead, he turned his gaze away from Izuku with an annoyed huff and walked away. "Mind your own business, damn nerd." His red eyes glared at Izuku, as if to say I dare you to say any more.
Izuku followed him hesitantly. At another time, Katsuki would blame that fucker's stubbornness for ignoring his fucking warning, but of course today, they were assigned to do a stupid project from UA together. A project that included an investigation of a cave at the top of a mountain, which was restricted for normal people. That was why they were now on their way to that stupid hill on their map. Today, Katsuki's lungs were worse than usual and it pissed. Him. Off. Being on a mountain path with stupid Deku constantly next to him would give Katsuki barely any time to excuse himself to puke some fucking flowers out that made him slowly die from suffocation.
"I think this clue means we should take the path on the right." Katsuki ignored the burning feeling in his throat building up for the millionth time today.
"If you fold the map, it looks like a four-leaf clover and I remember from the last clue that there must be a flower field close to the cave!" Katsuki didn't have the strength to argue, so he waited until Izuku made a move towards wherever he thinks they needed to go and he followed him.
"Kacchan...are you sure you're ok? We can take a break, if you want..."
"I'm fucking fine. Let's get this stupid project done." Katsuki made the last comment so Izuku would shut up. And so I can go into my room and get rid of this burning throat, he silently added. In this exact moment, his body decided to betray him. His sudden cough made the other stop and run back towards Katsuki, who was now crouching on gras, trying to hold in the bloody flowers, trembling and gasping for air.
"Kacchan!" Putting one hand on Katsuki's back, Izuku said, panicking "What's wrong?" He tried to look for injuries while Katsuki's head was facing the gras. He didn't want Izuku to see his pained face. "W-water." He managed to say between shallow gasps. But before he could take the bottle from Izuku's hand, the flowers forced their way out and the green gras changed into a field of bloody, orange colored mess.
What was relief for his lungs, was devastation for his heart. He tried to keep in the tears from falling. Thinking back on his fits, on the intensity of the attacks and his reactions, he finally understood who caused all of this. How shameful, how embarrassing, how humiliating it was that out of all the people, Deku was the one to see his pathetic feelings. His silence told him that he realized what was wrong with Katsuki. _____ "Who is it?" Katsuki was quiet. "Kacchan...how long has this been going on? This doesn't look like it happened recently. Please talk to me." Izuku's desperate plea made Katsuki's irritation grew. "Let me help you. You will die if you don't -" Katsuki grabbed Izuku by his collar and met his big, glassy eyes with his own, angry ones. "Shut up. I don't want your help. Pretend like you never saw anything."
He slowly stood up, finally looking at the mess he puked out. There were more flowers than usual and Izuku was right. He must have reached the final stage. Will he live one month? A week? A day?
Before he could take a step, Izuku grabbed his arm. "No. I won't let you leave like this."
Katsuki sighed. He had no energy to fight. He was tired. Izuku expected a fight, but he didn't care anymore. Since he would die anyway, why not just let it all out? Maybe he would finally feel relief. "It's you." Izuku's reaction was just as he imagined. Quiet and confused. No words uttered. He just stared at him blankly.
Seeing his face gave Katsuki the energy he needed before. He just laughed, holding his hair with his hand. "You're gonna make fun of me, huh? Go ahead. Laugh. I don't care anymore." He shook his head. "I don't get it either." He felt tears falling from his eyes, his hand still in front of his face. "Why you? Why you of all people?" Katsuki yelled. The silence felt like eternity, before Izuku replied quietly. "I- but. No. This doesn't make any sense. I thought I- uh." Katsuki finally looked at Izuku, who looked the same as Katsuki. Desperate, pathetic, with tears filling his eyes. After another pause, he uttered a whispered "I'm sorry." He reached out for Katsuki, but he took a step back.
"Don't come closer. I don't need your pity. Why aren't you laughing?" His voice was so deperate, he felt sorry for himself, Pathetic. "I-I'm sorry, okay?" That's not it.
"It's not like I wanted this either." There was no malice or anger in Izuku's tone. Only sadness and pure frustration. "I don't understand you! Is -is it that bad?" You're wrong. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Katsuki hated how small his voice sounded when all he wanted was to yell. Why the hell aren't you angry? Why do you still look at me with those eyes? "I'm sorry." Stop following me. "I didn't mean to hurt you." I hurt you. "Please don't be mad." I don't deserve you. Let me go.
Let me go. Let me go. The flowers spoke in a language both could understand.
_____ After Katsuki's second fit, he passed out. Two fits in one day? How long did he have left? Izuku carried Katsuki down the mountain as fast as he could, where Aizawa was waiting with some of the other students who were assigned at the same area as them. He was taken to the hospital. Izuku didn't tell the others what happened, his mind was filled with panick and confusion.
Izuku was in love with Katsuki. He always has been. Why did he never get the disease? Was is because Katsuki loved him back? But why did Katsuki get the disease despite his feelings then? Were Izuku's feelings not genuine? Doubt started to creep up inside of him. He had to find out how the disease exactly worked, he knew his love was real, so why did he cause Katsuki to catch such a terrible disease? His heart ached. By pounding his fist on his chest and breathing deeply, he tried to calm himself down. "Midoriya Izuku?" The doctor who just examined Katsuki interrupted his thoughts. "Yes, that's me."
"We gave your friend some pain killers and medicine to suppress the flowers, but unfortunately, the disease spread too far in his lungs. It must have been months since he caught hanahaki." He took out a small bag with petals. "Every patient has different flowers, it comes from their desires. These are butterfly weeds." He took the bag from the doctor. "How can I help him?" "The only way to save him is to make the other person fall in love with him, but given the circumstances...it's unlikely that we can save him in such a short time span." But I do love him.
"He is awake, if you want to talk." Izuku didn't hesitate to enter the room. "Kacchan!" He sat down on the edge of the bed, but Katsuki didn't pay any attention to him, instead, he kept staring out the window. He was so angry at him for not saying anything all this time, but fighting was meaningless right now. All he wanted was to save Katsuki's life. "The doctor gave me the petals. He said these come from your desire. Do you know the meaning of them?" He took out the bag. Katsuki slowly turned his head towards Izuku to look at the bag and nodded. "Took me too fucking long to realize..." "I'm sorry for causing this to you. If only I told you how I felt before." "What do you mean?" "I love you." Katsuki snorted. "You don't love me." "I do. I always have." He stared into Katsuki's eyes, but he could see that the words didn't reach his eyes. "Stop trying to play hero, Deku. Why would you love me? Me? Of all the people? You don't have to try to pathetically save me by acting like you love me. It's okay. I'm fine." Without meaning to, Izuku's irritation krept up. "What the fuck do you mean? I'm not lying." His response was quick, no anger, no distress, just simple words. "I don't deserve you." "You can't decide who I love and who I don't. I love you. You can't take that from me, Kacchan!" He put his hands on Katsuki's shoulders. He didn't care how distressed he sounded, how franctically he held him, forcing him to keep looking into Izuku's eyes. "If you can't accept my love, you will suffocate. Please don't do this. I'm not pretending, you're the only one I love." His eyes swelled up with tears. Katsuki started to cough. Another fit? "I want to be alone now, Deku. Leave." Izuku didn't move. "Please." With a pang of sorrow, Izuku left. Not because listened to Katsuki's wish, but because he was determined to prove that he loved him. He didn't have much time.
_____ After a two hour train ride, an hour of walking, thirty minutes of waiting, he found the person he was looking for. The girl in front of him, with long, wavy pink hair and pink eyes, didn't expect a stranger waiting in front of her apartment door. She seemed nervous and it didn't help that Izuku seemed desperate. But he was. He quickly introduced himself and managed to convince her that he wasn't a creep. "I'm sorry for the sudden visit. I need your help."
_____ Like Katsuki wished, Izuku was gone, and he didn't return. He would lie if he said he wasn't hurt by that, even if he was the one who told him to leave. Katsuki watched the sky until the sun left. At least the sunset was beautiful today. He didn't know what to do. Should he call his parents to bid them farewell? Write his classmates letters? The doctor said he had a few days left, since the frequency of his fits increased day by day. Dying by suffocation was not on his to-do list. Maybe he should find a random villain on his last day so he could pretend he died in a fight.
He sighed. Everything was so dumb. His self-pity moment was interrupted by a knock on the window. At first he thought it was his imagination, a sad attempt at hoping to see the person he was longing for, but once the knocking increased, he knew it was reality. He opened the door and was greeted by a hug. "Kacchan!" "How did you climb up here, stupid Deku?" He hoped the other didn't hear the happiness in his voice. "That's a secret." Izuku's smile brightened up the whole room, which was completely dark by now. He took Katsuki's right hand and put something in it. "Here...eat this. It will make you feel better." Izuku handed him a soft pink rose petal. He also had one in his hand and ate it. He did as he was told. They waited for a bit, but Katsuki didn't feel any difference. His insides were still burning and he felt another fit coming, so he put his hand on his heart to soothe the pain. "Give me your hand, Kacchan." Izuku replaced Katsuki's hand with his own so it laid gently on his chest. He was sure the other felt his increasing heart beats. Whether it was due to the flowers creeping up or because he was way too damn close didn't matter right now. Izuku's hand felt comforting. Somehow, he managed to calm down slowly. He felt a relieving warmth spreading inside of him and his negative emotions seemed to melt away. Katsuki let out a breath and closed his eyes. He felt more at ease than ever. "What did you do to me?" His voice was calmer than he expected. He opened his eyes to meet Izuku's, who was smiling softly. He saw a delicate blush coloring Izuku's cheeks. It suited him so well. In that moment, Katsuki wished time stood still. He wished he could have erased his past to treat Izuku with all the care, all the love he had deserved. "What you're feeling right now are my emotions." Katsuki felt warm tears on his face. Izuku kept his gaze on him, with his hand still on his chest. He felt it all. The kind of love that is serene, happy, pure. He felt his devotion, his unwavering affection. Everything. "Do you get it now? You own my heart." In the silence of the room, Katsuki wept softly. He managed to nod and hugged Izuku. Partly because he didn't want to show his face, partly, because words were unneeded. His lungs were no longer burning.

Technology takeover
My topic as you probably could tell by the title is all about technology and the many parts of life it is involved in. I will be talking about what I believe it has helped and also not helped, along with many other researchers takes as well. I already have previous knowledge on this subject and what it has done for education and businesses. I have seen technology grow throughout my public school education and I believe there is both good and bad things that come along with it. I think that a good thing that has come from it is school work being able done without teacher grading to help with their time management. Many of my assignments in college so far and also in high school are papers that are done with research online and many assignments and discussion pages are due via technology which has been very helpful.
A negative thing however is technology has taken away many social interactions that kids need to learn. It can cause mental illnesses and create children and teens to become alone and without a social life. I would say that my blog is different than other blogs because I have personal experience and have seen it within my generation and even myself. I chose this blog and what I think my topic truly means is it shows the differences technology makes in society and how far it has come. Some important names are Katherine who invented the who had the technology transfer theory and Guo who is also apart of the technology transfer theory and they wanted to see the productivity growth. (https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s10961-024-10184-5.pdf).
We will be talking about that theory from the article from the library called “ Technology transfer and innovation efficiency in a large emerging economy: an integrative perspective of absorptive capacity and the technology ladder’’.I find this interesting and something that many people don’t realize all the time. Tedchnology has really taken over and I think it is very interesting to see the results from it. The picture from this link in this article really shows a good visual of how technology is growing and changing. (https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s10961-024-10184-5.pdf).

i completed a writing assignment for my macroeconomics class and so much of it was just word vomit because i have no idea what i'm doing 😵💫 it's a little embarrassing coming to class and being absolutely lost during the discussions. it seems like everyone else has picked up on the content really quickly except for me! economics has always been one of my weaker subjects, so i really need to get it in my head that i won't be able to just breeze through this class huhuhu. i'm not excited to see my grade for that writing assignment but i'm determined to do better next time.
my other classes have been okay! i'm taking both business stats and accounting completely online, but they've been surprisingly pretty easy. i used to struggle with online classes a lot, but the content for these classes in particular are structured for active recall rather than just reading which is great for me! i find most of the content pretty interesting too, so i don't get bored studying.
i've been enjoying earl grey tea recently 🍵
super excited for itzy's comeback!
