I just had a (now apparently ex) friend say they were blocking me on social media because I was being creepy and crossing boundaries by messaging them when they weren't replying.

I hate stuff like that because it doesn't make sense to me, and when you do respect the "please don't respond" you cant get answers. It wasn't like, constant every day texting. Once or twice every few weeks weeks I'd send a meme or something that I thought they'd like.

I know theres a few of my mutuals on here I send posts to, some more often than others, yeah, but it's a "Hey this made me think of you" or "I think you'd like this one in particular" kind of thing. I don't even do it looking for conversation or response. Just a "hey look, thing" kind of thing.

Is that particularly weird? I can't ask this person for clarification, obviously, but now I'm worried that I'm weird or creepy or crossing other people's boundaries and just not being aware of it because I send people stuff.
