Violent Apprentices
MEANWHILE in the bat cave, our heroes talk about their periling issues...
Flash (Barry Allen): ...and now he's back from the dead, and while he isn't killing as many people as before, he is still hurting people to extreme!
Batman: And did August have this level of violence before he became Godspeed?
Flash: No, August was like any other officer in the CCPD. Which is saying something, we have one of the nicer police forces in the country. (That's just a headcanon. Yes ACAB, but these bastards are nice)
Batman: The way you're describing him reminds me of one my old protege. Jason Todd.
Flash: The Red Hood?
Batman: Yes. Except, Jason learned the hard way of why he shouldn't kill. Although he did return to using guns.
Flash: Really? That's seems very...reductive.
Batman: Yeah, I was surprised too.
Flash: Heh, imagine if they met. Wouldn't that be terrific.
Batman: Don't make me laugh, Barry. It would be the end of the world if that happened.
Flash: Yeah it would...
*Meanwhile in a more crime-orientated area of Central City, danger was afoot as the Red Hood monitored Penguin and Captain Cold and The Rogues.*
Penguin: As you can see here, we have the latest equipment in subzero freezing based weaponry. Perfect for handling those pesky speedsters! Wank!
Captain Cold: How much for the freeze grenades?
Red Hood: Snart, they're free if you really wanted them.
*All weapon were aimed at the anti-hero, ready to fire.*
Penguin: RED HOOD?! You followed me all the way here!
Red Hood, with both of his guns brought out: Yeah, because you're not supposed to be here. Now pack things up, and waddle your ass back to Blackgate before I make.
Captain Cold: I don't think you're the one to talk here. Me, my buds and sis take on the Flash every day. A guy who looks like he came from Mortal Kombat and carries guns doesn't scare us.
Red Hood: Really? Well, I've fought Mr. Freeze before. You're just a watered down copy.
Captain Cold: Oh you are so...*a look of fear strikes Cold's face*...MIRROR MASTER NOW!
*Mirror Master rapidly fired his mirror gun at the equipment the Penguin had presented. Penguin squaked both from fury and surprise. He cursed at Captain Cold as he and the Rogues teleported away in a flash of light. But then came a brighter light. A white blinding light. Screams from Penguin's men followed as the light zoomed around the area. Red Hood reached for something in his utility belt but stopped when the white blur caught and picked up Penguin.*
Penguin: What are you??
*The man in the white and gold costume resembling the Flash's uniform pulled the crime lord closer.*
"I am Godspeed"
Red Hood: Put the crime lord down!
*Godspeed glared at Red Hood and the guns he pointed at him with. The masked vigilante tossed Penguin aside and approached the Gothamite. Red Hood pointed at Penguin.*
Red Hood: Go anywhere, and I will make you a legless bird, got it?
Godspeed: I can stop a pullet the second it leaves a gun, who do you think you are?
Red Hood: I'm Red Hood, I usually work in Gotham City.
Godspeed: Red Hood...the crime lord?
Red Hood: For a time, now I just do vigilante work against Gotham's elites. Basically what batman did before the crazies arrived.
*Red Hood walked over and cuffed Penguin.*
Red Hood: I'm starved, wanna grab some Big Belly Burger?
Godspeed: ...why not?
---
*our Anti-heroes munched and chewed on their burgers as they discussed their various adventures as masked vigilantes while sitting in a big belly burger.*
Red Hood: Are you sure you didn't hear of me? Because I had similar reasoning when I fought Batman. Although it was focused on just killing the Joker.
Godspeed: That was 100% my idea, I had no intentions of copying your actions. I also fully intended on killing everyone in the Flash's rogues gallery. But I did emphasize Reverse Flash because he killed Flash's mom. I honestly thought Flash would agree with me. I feel dumb for thinking that now, and for wanting to kill those people.
Red Hood: Mutual feelings, except I'll never feel bad for trying to kill Joker. That fucker has it coming.
Godspeed: How is he still alive? I know the Gotham justice system is bad, but I didn't think it was that terrible?
Red Hood: It is shit, but he just keeps coming back. Rumor has it, he's immortal. I don't believe it though. I think he was just a guy who wanted attention.
Godspeed: That makes more sense to me. He does seem like an attention whore. Reverse Flash is similar in my opinion. Except he specifically wants the attention from Flash. I mean he did kill my brother just to help motivate me into being Godspeed so that I would be enemies with the Flash.
Red Hood: He killed your brother? Joker killed my mom the same day he killed me! Well, he used a bomb, but still.
Godspeed: Joker killed you? Reverse Flash killed me!
Red Hood: That is so coincidentally strange!
Godspeed: I know!
"Oh you have got to be kidding me..."
*Both vigilantes look and see Barry Allen in his civilian clothing*
Red Hood: (Whispering) Is that...?
Godspeed: (whispers back) Yup. (speaks normally) What? Never seen two vigilantes eating at Big Belly Burger?
Red Hood: They do it all the time in Bat Burger over in Gotham.
Barry: ...I'm tired.
---
Flash: (while running through Central City) And so they're just talking about how similar they are. I think they're friends now.
Batman: (in the bat cave listening to the communication link) I'm not surprised, Red Hood was following a lead that Penguin was going to give new weapons to the Rogues.
Flash: Oh...wait what?!

I know you said at some point that you had zero idea on how to put your own stamp on the Bat Rouges, and that does sound super difficult I feel like I have a few suggestions for the big 4 (Joker, Riddler, Selina, and Penguin) at least.
Joker - Follow B:TAS, bits of the 1989 film. In addition to actually being funny yet scary (especially B:TAS) those takes on the man were ex-mafiosi. Do what you will with the concept of Joker once being in the mob.
Riddler - He's an actual genius, but he's also an attention seeking narcissist, and the Arkham games the man has a case of megalomania, so maybe have him at some point move some operations to metropolis. Basically make the man an honorary Superman villain. He HAS worked alongside Lex in the silver age and in SOME comics, so like a Riddler-Lex team up could be in the air.
Catwoman/Selina - This is a free box so long as she remains a thief within the grey area of morality.
Penguin - Another free box honestly because Oswald has been redone a LOT, though I recommend going back to some earlier comics and some modern stuff to distill his essence.
While I appreciate the suggestions, I feel like I'm not clear enough with communicating why I struggle doing a reimagining of the bat rogues. So to put it plainly, when I do a re-mix: I need a thesis (a story to tell). I usually form a thesis if I find a narrative opportunity or I'm dissatisfied with how the character is handled in canon. That thesis will then fuel the story and design interpretation of that character.
Lately I've been reimagining Conner Kent/Superboy because I feel in canon after his initial debut in Reign of Supermen, Conner struggles being overshadowed by Jon Kent Superboy or Superman's legacy. DC doesn't know where to place him or what to do with him after his Lex Luthor-Superman-clone origin as a solo. Much of the later additions to Superfam don't feel as politically motivated as Clark would later be interpreted as (with the exception of Kong). So I wanted to create an origin that helps Conner stand on his own, be a uniquely different experience to Clark, and place him somewhere new after his origin is revealed- that adds longevity to his narrative. That's how my Paul Westfield/Conner Luthor version is created, from that thesis.
And that's my approach with all the characters I've done so far too. I wanted to tackle Martian Manhunter's ableist lore, or I wanted to reinforce the immigrant allegory in the Clois dynamic, or revitalize Superman rogues because they're underappreciated (Livewire), or I wanted the evil robot to be more gender (Brainiac). When I get suggestions to just follow what works, that's not creatively fulfilling for me.
Stuff that gets the gears in my brain turning are when I see fans passionately talking about but also being critical of characters they love. Like this Scarecrow video! It opened my eyes to how underutilized and undeveloped a character Scarecrow is (who I previously thought was popular). That's the kind of thing that gets me excited to pitch an interpretation on a character!
And lastly! I really don't want to crossover Batrogues into other hero's worlds where I can. I've done it sometimes sure, but only when there's a story to tell. Rogues are created to tackle a specific superhero's abilities and themes. A superhero crossing over rogues too often (especially with the Bat rogues, I get it they're the best rogues gallery in the business) feels like the creator lacks confidence in that hero's own rogues gallery. I'd rather revitalize a hero's rogues gallery than have My Adventures With Other People's Rogues Gallery. Amirite, MAWS.

Alternate Instincts Ch.10
Tumblr media
Pairing: The Rogue’s Gallery (Geralt, Syverson, Mike, August Walker, Walter Marshall) x Stephanie Daniels (OFC)
WC 1634
Wanring: Uh..none?
Geralt held her as she slept, his arms wrapped around her in a tight embrace. She didn't have the stamina of a wolf, so there was only much she could physically handle before her nerve endings called it quits and it became painful rather than pleasurable. They hadn't used protection, and he hadn't pulled out when he came, so they needed to watch it carefully in case she got pregnant. Then again, he doubted she and August had been careful either, so even if she did become with child, the father could be either of them. Or both, in rare circumstances.
Brushing her hair away from her face, he pressed his lips to her forehead, hearing her wake.
"Hey." She said and he gave her a soft smile.
"Hello." He said and tugged her up into a kiss. "Any regrets?"
"No." She said, shaking her head. "You?"
"None." He said, "You're my Mate, and I will never regret taking care of my Mate." She suddenly gave a quiet huff of a laugh that in no way sounded amused. "What?"
"Nothing." She said, "It's just that...my mom would have an aneurysm if she found out."
"Don't think I'm mother approved?"
"You're not my mother approved." She said and he gave her a questioning look. "You're a wolf."
"Oh."
"And I can promise you she would have a few choice words about me sleeping with two different men in two days, as well as both of them being wolves." She said and pulled away from him with a sigh, sitting on the edge of the bed and stretching. "I need to eat something." His hand laid on her back, running along her skin and he felt the shiver that ran through her. "Is it supposed to be this...intense?"
"Yes." He said, "We're Mates."
"And if I was a wolf? Would it be even more intense?"
"Couldn't say." He said honestly.
"There's just this feeling inside me, like...there's supposed to be something there. I want you, and August, and Walter, and Sy, and Mike. One at a time, at the same time, it doesn't matter. Being with you and August, it...I don't know."
"I understand."
"Do you?"
"You want your Mates."
"I'm not a wolf."
"I know." He said and there was a brief knock on the door before it pushed open. Anything Sy may have said died as he saw her sitting there, his eyes moving over her nude form.
“Goddamnit.” He said and crossed the room, holding the side of her jaw and kissing her, her fingers wrapping around his wrist as her eyes closed.
“No.” She said, pulling away from his lips, catching his confused look, “No, no, no. I need food. If I burn anymore calories without replacing them I'm going to poof out of existence.” He gave a soft chuckle, pressing a softer kiss to her lips before straightening.
“What do you need, Sy?” Geralt asked.
“Just lookin' for Steph, actually.” He said, “Figured she'd be in here as you left and didn't come back and she didn't make an appearance either.” His thumb moved back and forth over her cheek as he spoke.
“We mated.” Geralt said simply.
“Figured.” Sy said.
“Are you...okay with that?” Stephanie asked and he looked down at her in question.
“She's under the impression we'd be angry at her.” Geralt said, “She thought I would have been angry at her for sleeping with August.”
“She's August's Mate.”
“Mine too, and yours.” Geralt said and he looked down at her.
“Steph, baby, you ain't cheatin' on us.” Sy said, “Nah, doll, you matin' with August and Geralt don't bother me none. You're their Mate. Wantin' you all to myself would be tryin' to fight nature and that's never worked out.”
“Okay.” She said, her hands coming up to hold his thighs through his jeans.
“Now let's get some food in ya before we give Geralt a show.” He said and stooped down, throwing her over his shoulder.
“Clothes!” She exclaimed as he headed for the door.
“They're all gonna see it eventually!”
“Markus!” She snapped and he sighed, setting her down again and leaving by himself, coming back with some of her clothes that she had brought camping. “You forgot underwear.” He just shrugged unapologetically and she sighed with a roll of her eyes, getting dressed. “I'm going to need to get more of my things if I'm going to be on lock-down here.”
“Put together a list and Mikey and I will head over to your place.” Sy said.
“You're not going through my things.” She said, pulling the shirt on sans bra.
“Then the three of us will head over after you eat.” He conceded and Geralt flopped over onto his back after they left, picking up the pillow next to him and holding it to his face, breathing in deep the smell of her hair.
The drive over to her apartment after she ate her weight in pasta was made in silence, Sy driving, Stephanie sitting in the passenger seat with Mike sitting in the back.
“Oh my god, Mike, stop bouncing your leg. You're making the truck shake and it's making me nauseous.” She said while they were at a red light and he stopped.
“Sorry, babe, nervous habit.” He said and she reached back without looking, feeling his fingers wrap around hers. At her instruction, Sy parked in a slanted spot on the street and they got out, him and Mike pulling her camping gear from the back as she didn't need it at the cabin.
“I'll stay out front, make sure everythin' stays kosher while you two pack up some of her essentials.” Sy said as they climbed the stairs with Stephanie in the lead.
“Want me to bring any perishable foods back to the cabin?” She asked, “As we really don't know how long I'm going to be there.”
“If ya want.” Sy said with a shrug as she unlocked the front door, “Whoa, doll, hold up.”
“Jordan never had a key.” She said but he still put his hand over hers on the doorknob.
“Still coulda broken in, let me take a peek first.” He said and she stepped back, her hands up in surrender. He pushed open the door, heading into the apartment and it was quiet for a moment. “It's good.” She and Mike walked in as he came up from the back of the apartment, Mike setting the camping equipment down on the floor. “Don't take hours.” He said, pressing a quick kiss to her cheek before leaving, keeping the door open a crack.
“Mike.” Stephanie said.
“Yeah?”
“Are you lactose intolerant?”
“Nope.”
“Kill this half gallon of milk, I don't want it going bad.”
“Why do you have so many eggs?”
“I like eggs.”
“We'll take them with us, Sy goes though a shit load of them.” He stopped listening in after that, taking his phone out to scroll idly through various social media that he lurked, but didn't post much, on. Mainly to keep in contact with his Army buddies. Aika retired and was adopted by her handler's wife. Good for her, she was a good dog.
"Hey." He heard and looked up, seeing the man standing there. He was large in a strength build, a bushy beard on his face with his long hair tied back behind his head. He was also an Alpha wolf.
"Hey." Sy said, putting his phone away.
"You know someone in the building?"
"Stephanie Daniels." Sy said, moving his head at the door. "You are?"
"Frank Carter, her landlord." He said, "I also run the pack of this building and the one next door."
"Well, don't worry man, I ain't lookin' to challenge you on territory." He said, sliding his hands in the pockets of his jeans, "I got a few acres up north in the mountains that I control. Happy with that."
"How do you know Stephanie?" Frank asked, "You her boyfriend she thinks I don't know about?"
"Yes and no." Sy said, "That jackass is out of the picture, I'm in it now."
"Oh." Frank said, "Well I might have to raise her rent if you stay over a lot."
"She's gonna be spending some time up at my place. Council shoulda notified you of the situation, so you don't think I'm movin' in on your pack."
"Haven't heard anything yet." Frank said with a shrug. "If you infect her, she's mine."
"Pardon?" Sy asked, folding his arms over his chest.
"If you turn her wolf and she's still living here, she'll be a part of my pack, not yours."
"Not how that works, bud."
"I won't have someone else's bitch living among my pack." Frank said and Sy's shoulders tightened, "So either move her into your territory, or keep your claws to yourself."
"You don't tell me what to do."
"You're in my territory, you follow my rules." Frank said and Sy reached behind him, pushing the door open a little.
"How's it goin'?"
"Mike, put that back, I'm not taking that with me!"
"Aw come on, sweetcheeks!"
"Put. The bikini. Back."
"Hey!" Sy called out again.
"Almost done!" Stephanie replied, "Just having a disagreement over the meaning of the word "essential"!"
"Someone else in there?" Frank asked and tried to head into the apartment, but Sy stepped in front of him.
"My brother, Mike." Sy said and Frank's eyes hardened.
"Get the fuck out of my territory."
"Will as soon as she's done packin'." Almost on cue, the door swung open further, Mike carrying a duffel bag and a decently sized cooler, a backpack slung over Stephanie's shoulder.
"Frank?" She asked, seeing him past Sy's shoulder and there was a pause.
"Rent's due in a week." He said and stomped off down the stairs.

on one hand i like it when people make ed all cutesy and shit but on the other i think everyone misses the point that gotham is a generally dark place with people within it who have been systematically broken down and forced to desperate ends. ed is a narcissistic, wise cracking, jealous, obsessive person whose pathological obsession with being viewed as the best leads him to do terrible things. he has forced batman to cut a babies throat bcoz he shoved a golf ball down it. in killing time he beats penguin basically to death with his own umbrella in a specific pattern to signal coordinates. like it feels like 1. no one reads the comics and only gets their batman/rogues gallery info from tumblr leading to insanely gross characterisations that are basically just oc's and 2. everyone's so preoccupied by the uwu factor to make anything genuinely compelling. it also feels like you miss the point of the mental illness that ed and the other rogues are often handling, with ed especially he is so seriously handicapped by his own mental and emotional issues that he often ruins his OWN plans just to ease them.
the idea of gotham as a reflection of the very real effects of a late state capitalist hellscape where everyone is forced into a mode of self preservation above all, with a looming figure of the joke that is the system good and will help everyone in batman himself is entirely lost. peter milligan's later work with the dcu where he suddenly made everything bright again bcoz "how could gothamites actually live here?" ruined so much of the core emotional ideas of the franchise that made it so captivating in the first place. because the thing is people DO live in gotham in the real world. they live in places like flint, like skids row, like detroit, like baltimore, or pharr. people are living in places where they've been systematically hurt and forced into desperate measures. since late era milligan and all of tom king's dreadful run, it's become this fantasy la la happy silly land and i frankly fuckin hate it.
fandom creations don't have to be a 1 to 1 reflection of canon events, hell, i know my adaptations and fan works aren't -- but outright ignoring the genuinely meaningful and insightful social commentary altogether feels like deliberate ignorance and just. such a fucking faux liberal, poor media analysis approach to something that really did revolutionise the way comics were made.

Valerie and Danny, 50, for the kisses? (“last dying breath” can have any interpretation - go ham!)
~ 50. kisses with their last dying breath
(i did indeed use an Interpretation of this prompt. tagging @duchi-nesten for what will be obvious reasons) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There were too many of them.
Danny managed to fire off an ectoblast. It struck an enemy, evaporating it into bits and pieces, but where one was destroyed, there were a dozen more to take its place. They swarmed forward, clearly eager to avenge their fallen kin.
He was oddly reminded of the thrall army he'd faced at Pariah's Keep. Of course, that army had been far worse than this one, but he'd had the advantage of a tricked out mech and his own ragtag army of ghosts from his rogue gallery. Here, he had nothing more than his own core, which was quickly beginning to give out, and...
"Valerie!" He scrambled to his feet, just barely escaping a swipe of razor sharp claws. She could handle herself fine, of course, but if she was facing an attack like this one...
If anything happened to her, he would never forgive himself.
The distinct metal shink! of a sword reached his ears. He resisted the urge to swear. Of course she'd be forced to rely on her sword. They'd long since discovered her suit was nothing more than a fancy paperweight here. Sure, it wasn't just any average sword - he'd given it to her himself, after all - but one sword against a mob this size...
Clumsily, he sidestepped another enemy lunging at him. He would've preferred to just rid himself of it entirely, but with his core running so dangerously low, he'd be lucky to pull off a few sparks. Instead, he channeled what remaining energy he could at willing himself intangible and making a mad dash through the horde towards the sounds of the sword and struggle.
It wasn't easy. By the time he reached her, his core was shuddering violently, and he found himself shaking. He collapsed behind her, pressed up against a rocky ledge. "How're you holding up?" he wheezed.
Valerie grunted as she swung her sword down and into another enemy. It succumbed instantly. "I've been better." Her voice was tight - the same voice she got when facing down the likes of the Fright Knight or the Ghost King. "You?"
He looked up. Without her helmet on, her hair flowed loose and free behind her. The fire in her eyes shone brighter than ever. Though her face was contorted into one of exertion and pain, there was a beauty to it, one he found to be unmatched by any being in this world or any. She moved with a finesse and grace he could only hope to match, striking down her foes with deadly accuracy.
It was no wonder Danny found himself speechless. God, I love this girl.
Except she would most definitely give him an earful if he said that out loud in the middle of a situation like this. Instead, he swallowed it down and used the ledge to help him stagger up. "I don't think we're gonna make it," he said, trying to keep his voice from shaking too much.
Because wasn't that a horrifying thought?
Valerie seemed to think so too, if the way she whirled on him with an expression of horror told him anything. "Wh- no! Don't talk like that! We'll be fine!"
"What's the point in kidding ourselves?" He didn't mean to sound so frustrated, but in a situation like this, he couldn't help himself.
She shot him a glare before focusing back on the throng quickly advancing on them. "I don't know who you think I am, but I don't give up without a fight!"
"I don't either! But if all that's gonna happen is that we're gonna die either way..."
She faltered and glanced back at him. "We're not - I'm..."
Danny didn't see the attack until it was too late. He tried to warn her, tried to throw himself in front of it, but it was too fast. With a sharp cry of pain, Valerie was thrown back into him, and they fell to the ground.
He scrambled to sit up. She sat there, in his lap, hissing in pain as she examined the damage to her side. His stomach churned at the sight, even more so when she began to reach blindly for her fallen sword.
He caught her hand. "Please, Val..." he whispered. "I don't want to spend our last moments like this."
"Y-you're being overdramatic," she whispered right back, but the sheen of tears threatening to fall from her eyes betrayed her.
Carefully, he twisted his hand so his fingers interlocked with hers. "I'm scared." It was a confession he hadn't been expecting to make. "I'm... it's gonna hurt."
The mob was upon them now. She leaned into him, and he hoped it was more out of a desire to be closer to him than an effort to keep away from the threat. Their eyes locked together.
If it had been a movie, she would've given him an inspiring speech, with an orchestra swelling behind her voice and dramatic lighting highlighting the two of them and everything. She would've confessed her undying love right then and there, and it would've been the key to unlocking some latent power within him to eradicate the whole army at once and fly them to safety.
But it wasn't a movie. There would be no eleventh hour miracle.
And so instead, as the mob launched into their final attack, she took his face in her hands and brought his lips to hers. He responded just as fiercely, using the last dredges of his energy to pour every ounce of love he could into the kiss.
The attack hit, and the world went black. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The next thing Danny felt was his head slamming into a wall.
"Gah!" He crumpled to the floor, rolling and groaning as he gripped the back of his skull. "Uggghhhh, I think I broke it. I told you it was gonna hurt."
Valerie snorted. He cracked open an eye to see her sitting at her desk. A familiar, pixelated "GAME OVER" screen flashed behind her as she grinned down at him with crossed arms. "You only have yourself to blame," she said with a cheek that could only be rivaled by him. "I told you you'd regret overshadowing the game, but noooo. You just had to get the 'authentic Minecraft experience'."
"Exactly! There's no better way to get an authentic experience than by doing it first hand!" He rolled himself to sit up. The same "GAME OVER" screen taunted him from his laptop. "So really, I still win."
Even if he forgot just how violently games liked to throw him out when he died in-game. But he would never admit that out loud.
Valerie hummed. She spun back around and clicked to respawn. "Maybe you really did hit your head too hard. I wouldn't exactly call getting owned by a mob of Creepers 'winning'."
"Look, how was I supposed to know they'd spawn all over like that?" He stood up and stretched like a cat before walking over to her. With a grin of his own, he propped his arms on the back of her chair and leaned down to rest his chin on her shoulder. "Besides, getting you to kiss me like that? In Minecraft? That was a win all its own."
He didn't need to see her face to know she rolled her eyes. "I only did it because I knew you'd come back and get all melodramatic if I didn't. And it doesn't count as me kissing you if it was my avatar kissing you."
He laughed and turned to plant a kiss on her cheek. "Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Red." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~ Send me a ship and a number from this ask game and I'll write a drabble or draw a sketch!

We join the Freedom Fighters on the tail end of a successful mission, but what’s most intriguing about this issue is right there in the title box. While we’ve had a story from Lew Stringer already over in the poster mags, this is his first story in the main book. Not only that, but this story is called “Metamorphia” and if you have even a casual interest in StC, you’ve probably heard of this addition to the rogues’ gallery, who Stringer is about to introduce us to
Tumblr media
Amy shoots her shot and gets shot down, as this bear mobian asks Sonic for help. Now, you might think they’re playing the old “Sonic ignores Amy in favour of another girl” card but as I’ve pointed out a few times already, Sonic is just really invested in helping civilians and shows them a kindness that he doesn’t seem to show his own team. Maybe it’s that he feels his team can handle him for being the asshole he is? But that’s besides the point right now
Also, I’m not going to beat about the bush with this. I’m sure you’ve probably already guessed that, with the villain in the title being a play on the word “metamorph”, this bear isn’t who she’s claiming to be
Tumblr media
Amy might not be able to read the title, but she also gets bad vibes from this stranger and Tails agrees with her. But Sonic passes off these concerns as jealousy and is quick to head on his way, leaving the two of them behind
Tumblr media
Yeah, sure, this looks like the safest zone I’ve ever seen
Tumblr media
Sonic shares this sentiment and while he looks away, our damsel in distress suddenly looks a lot more sinister…
Tumblr media
They get attacked by soldier badniks (I tend to call them Troopers, but I’m not sure if they’re actually called that?) and while Sonic thinks they’re the most dangerous thing here, he’s seconds away from being proven wrong
Tumblr media
Here she is, Metamorphia! She introduces herself and her home, the Grim Zone, with Sonic having to admit that Amy & Tails were right not to trust her
Tumblr media
Metamorphia transforms into a gas to knock Sonic out and like, damn, I know shapeshifter characters are often OP, but that’s pretty OP! Not that I’m complaining at all, since it’s always good to have more powerful threats on the villains’ side. Though unlike Captain Plunder, it turns out that Metamorphia is another agent working for Robotnik
Tumblr media
Sonic wakes up in a some kind of prison cube, but it doesn’t even take him a few seconds after Metamorphia explains how it works for him to bust out of it lmao
Tumblr media
Metamorphia escapes and Tails shows up, but I’m sure we can all figure out that Tails hasn’t suddenly developed the ability to back-talk Sonic
Tumblr media
There’s something so funny about the villain being so blatant as to say “take a look over that cliff”. Also, I guess Metamorphia really hates Bluey. That’s my headcanon now
Tumblr media
Sonic was about as fooled by her disguise as we were and leaves Metamorphia to her fate. Turns out that even if she can turn into a gas, she can’t mimic Tails’s ability to fly
Tumblr media
I had wondered if Sonic would eat humble pie when he got back to Amy & Tails, but nope, he’s vague about what happened. Amy saying “Did your new girlfriend chuck you” is yet another reminder of exactly how British these characters sound. Meanwhile, our story ends on the confirmation that Metamorphia lives to see another day and we’ll certainly be seeing her again in future
Now, like the previous issue, this was a standalone story setting up lore to pull from in future. But I have to confess that I enjoyed this one a lot more. Even if I didn’t have much to say, I felt like there was a lot more stuff I wanted to hold up and go “Look at this!” Which isn’t me saying that I think Stringer is a better writer than Kitching by any means - both of them have wonderful stories that I enjoy and you wouldn’t have StC without either writer. But this was a strong start for Stringer and I’m looking forward to more
As for Metamorphia, I just like girl villains, so I’m obviously looking forward to her comeback. Having started reading StC with issue 80, the only story I saw of Metamorphia was the end of her character arc and the final story she appears in (which actually ends up being a Tails solo story), so I’m looking forward to seeing how her journey plays out before she gets to that final destination

i’m sure someone has made this list before. but i’ve recently reread the robin (1993-2009) comics and realised how Batshit Crazy tim’s time as robin was. here’s a list of major events that happened during his tenure:
obeah man???: still not clear on exactly what happened here, but his parents are both poisoned, resulting in his mom’s death and his dad’s long-term coma.
knightfall/knightquest/knightsend: the iconic arc when bane breaks bruce’s back and azrael (derogatory) temporarily becomes batman then quickly goes off the rails and tries to kill tim, forcing him to go solo and work with huntress (hashtag girlboss) before bruce returns and handles azrael
contagion: the incurable Apocalypse Virus™ threatens to wipe out gotham city and tim naturally catches it and nearly dies before bruce returns with The Cure
the final night: a sun-eater tries to Eat The Sun. tim meets impulse! robin and spoiler defend gotham city on their own during the crisis! tim’s girlfriend’s crazy mafia uncle tries to kill him after finding them in bed together (not doing the sexy. but it looked like they were gonna do it.)
cataclysm: a massive earthquake levels half of gotham, throwing the city into crisis and causing some problems in tim’s personal life as his father relocates them to keystone briefly before tim’s misery convinces him to move them back to gotham
no man’s land (a personal favourite): gotham’s post-earthquake crisis worsens and the government decides that the best solution is to declare it no man’s land. shockingly, this causes Even More Problems. there’s a whole thing where tim’s dad realises tim snuck off into the city, and the news about it makes people sympathetic enough to gotham’s (cough a rich white family’s) plight that the government decides to actually help. cass becomes batgirl!
young justice/teen titans drama!: so much went on here. i don’t even know where to begin. the whole imperiex/our worlds at war apocalyptic crisis. tim quits young justice after the thing where the justice league discovers batman’s Super Paranoid Contingency Plans™ causes the team to distrust him. he returns to the team, which is disbanded after a team-up with the titans goes badly. the teen titans is formed. general fuckery involving tim’s civilian life!
unmasked: tim’s dad finds out he’s robin, confronts batman in the batcave with a gun and forces tim to quit. steph becomes robin and cuts off contact with tim. superboy tries to convince tim to come back to teen titans, but tim insists that he’s Totally Happy Just Being A Civilian, Kon. Really. He’s Less Stressed Now That He’s Not Dealing With Constant Crises! (lying)
war games: oh god. we all know this one. gang war! gotham in peril! steph dies! tim meets evil!future batman!tim who murdered the entire rogue gallery with the gun that killed bruce’s parents. tim seriously considers killing himself to prevent this future.
identity crisis: a Mysterious Villain begins targeting families of the justice league. because tim is not allowed to have anything remotely nice, his dad is murdered (by captain boomerang, which is frankly adding insult to injury). tim invents an uncle to avoid getting adopted by bruce (really, kid? really?). bruce finds out and helps him solidify the fake uncle's identity (bruce no)
robin: to kill a bird: jason todd returns all crazy and nearly kills tim at titans’ tower (dressed in a version of his robin costume) and signs his name in tim’s blood. theatre kid much, jason?
infinite crisis: c’mon dc, you’ve done like four world-ending crises in the last decade. chill your goddamn tits. the teen titans, doom patrol, and justice society of america team up to take down superboy prime. normal superboy dies due to the fight, despite tim’s desperate attempt to find a cure. also bludhaven got nuked and tim’s stepmother gets a traumatic brain injury and is permanently hospitalised. then bruce, tim, and dick go on vacation and tim accepts bruce’s offer to adopt him! yay!
one year later: cass is briefly evil! the league of assassins tries to recruit tim, who barely escapes with his life after turning them down. then he goes a little crazy with grief, tries to clone kon, and has a brief relationship with extreme violence before deciding to break it off.
the resurrection of ra’s al ghul: damian arrives in gotham! and tries to kill tim multiple times! ra’s tries to seduce tim to the Dark Side with the promise of resurrecting his parents! tim refuses! ra’s tries to force bruce to sacrifice either tim or damian to become his new host body! tim tries to sacrifice himself but is convinced by dick to Not Do That at the last minute!
batman r.i.p.: bruce dies, but not really! fun times!
battle for the cowl: i like to pretend this doesn’t exist, because it is Stupid As Fuck. jason nearly kills tim again, but damian (!) rescues him.
red robin: dick makes damian robin. the end!
but not really
and then of course the whole red robin series (which i love) is just like. tim is passively suicidal! tim loses an entire important organ while working with the loa! tim becomes ceo of wayne enterprises then blows up the loa and ra’s almost kills him! tim is nearly raped by one of ra’s’ daughters because ra’s really wants tim’s babies! this is not dealt with at all!!! love that for him

🔥 The Shadow in the pulps
Myra Reldon was really, really cool on her debut, and pretty much never again sadly. Like, she was okay on the following ones, but her spark was lost once she became entirely reliant on her gimmick and could not longer show up or match The Shadow to the same extent. She was the greatest beneficiary of Gibson's "introduce this new agent as a potential villain and then reveal later they were a good guy" method but unfortunately she turned out to be a one-trick pony with a very limited trick. I blame this more on Gibson being generally unwilling to/lackluster at writing women than anything, Myra has potential but she's in a rough spot (and not at all because of Margo, but that's a spiel for another time).
I don't think the early years were the absolute definitive best ones. Gibson was still finding his footing big time and the character was still operating on undercooked surroundings and cast. Like yeah, if you think these novels are worthless whenever The Shadow is not on screen, you're probably gonna gravitate more to the ones where he's at his most distant and invincible, but I think that's extremely reductive and also plainly wrong, he's not even at his absolute coolest in those either.
I've thought a lot on how to make the best of it and I have some ideas but frankly, and I could change my mind in the future but for now, if I could excise the Xincas from Kent Allard's character/backstory, I would. It's just, I don't think you can escape the mighty whitey bullshit baked into the concept guys, I like The Shadow having globetrotted extensively and done something important in South America and the ring having all that lore into it and etc but the Xincas are just, they get cut out of adaptations for good reason.
I agree that Shiwan Khan is overused as hell and usually a bad omen but, thing is, I actually do like him, I do think he had some really good things going for him, and I actually do think he had a lot of legit reasons for being The Shadow's arch-nemesis. That said, I do get that the character is toxic and, even if I argue the particulars of it, I do understand there is a degree of inescapable Yellow Peril there that might not really be worth salvaging. Really the biggest reason I even want Khan to work is less about him and more because, well,
The Shadow's villains kinda suck, and he's not particularly conductive towards having a good rogues gallery in the first place, which really wouldn't be an issue (most characters don't have one) if they didn't keep making a comic book superhero out of him. It's partially because, well he's already the villain to end all the villains for a start, hence why the best-regarded pulp villains generally had surface similarities to him. But The Shadow doesn't really invite that kind of deeper Spider-Man/Batman parallelism, he can't have an over-the-top collection of outsized personalities to fight ala Nick Carter/G-8 because he already is the central outsized over-the-top personality here, and he kinda has the Punisher problem (he can't have a bunch of villains running around because he's supposed to actually handle them for good even if he doesn't kill them) but worse, because his supporting cast actually matters, and fixing this villain problem would come at the expense of risking his supporting cast of agents and honestly, that wouldnt be remotely worth doing.

Year of the Bat - Number 10
Welcome to Year of the Bat! In honor of Kevin Conroy, Arleen Sorkin, and Richard Moll, I’ve been counting down my Top 31 Favorite Episodes of “Batman: The Animated Series” throughout this January. Today, we’ve officially reached the Top 10! TODAY’S EPISODE QUOTE: “Change is everything.” Number 10 is…Two-Face.
Tumblr media
How fitting is it we’re covering this villain’s origins on the 22nd? XD Anyway, I had a hard time choosing between this and “Feat of Clay.” Both are actually extremely similar in a lot of ways: both are two-part story arcs, both feature the origins of great villains in Batman’s Rogues Gallery – great villains whose appearances were teased in earlier stories, no less – and both feature great animation and an exceptionally dark, at times almost horror-movie-esque, tone. Not only that, but even the plots of these episodes bear some noticeable similarities! With that said, the animated series definitely provided the best take on Harvey Dent we’ve ever gotten, at least outside of comics themselves. In previous episodes – specifically the series pilot, “On Leather Wings,” and Poison Ivy’s debut, “Pretty Poison” – we’d already met Harvey Dent and gotten to know him a bit. We knew he was Gotham’s rather well-liked district attorney, we knew he and Batman had a sort of rivalry going on, and we also knew that he and Bruce Wayne were best friends. All these facts made the events of this two-parter all the more disturbing, because we had gotten to know Harvey pretty well. In this two-parter, it’s revealed that Harvey secretly suffers from some mental issues, and has a second personality inside him, referred to as “Big Bad Harv.” This second personality is all of Harvey’s repressed anger and bitterness, refined into one diabolical, snarly, cruel beast. When the DA gets too close to the schemes of crime boss Rupert Thorne, Thorne’s minions capture Harvey, and in the chaos that ensues, the DA’s face and body are horrifically disfigured. This causes Harvey to snap and become the supervillain Two-Face: a deranged gangster who vows to get revenge on Thorne, and make Gotham his own stomping ground in the process. Harvey/Two-Face was voiced by the late Richard Moll, who – like many actors in later years – would reprise the role many times in other takes on the character. Like Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy, Moll cemented the character and became the definitive interpretation. He is so wonderful as the vulnerable, tragic Harvey Dent, while his gravelly, gruff, snarly voice for Two-Face has become the gold standard which all other versions (at least in animation) seem to try and live by. Two-Face, himself, has always been one of Batman’s most tragic and personal enemies, and the Animated Series didn’t hold back on that front. Not only do the events of this story scar Harvey for life – both physically and mentally – but they also take a heavy toll on Bruce himself. This two-parter is magnificent not only because of how well it handles a great villain, but because of Batman’s role in the story, as well. In a lot of the villain introductions of the show, Batman is sort of a secondary player, in a way: the focus is either just on him trying to stop the villain in question, or on the villain’s descent into darkness. This episode not only gives us both those elements, but it also gives us great character moments for Batman himself, as he has to struggle with the guilt and sorrow that comes with seeing one of his best friends become one of his most formidable opponents. We got bits and pieces of this kind of thing in other stories, of course, but “Two-Face” – perhaps because it has more time to manage things – really goes all out. This isn’t just a great episode for Two-Face himself, but a great episode for Batman as well. It’s for this reason, I think that I decided to rank this higher than “Feat of Clay.” There’s no doubt in my mind that it belongs in my Top 10.

Tomorrow we move on with Number 9! Hint: “So, it wasn’t all for nothing.”

So I've again been thinking about Frontiers and Tails going off on his own to make an impact of his own without Sonic to prove himself. Also I've been thinking about how Tails is a little badass and usually ends up being a big part in Sonic winning against every threat they face and how none of their rogue gallery seems to realize this. When it hit me, what if Tails going solo for a bit is what finally gets the attention of the villains on him more. This gonna be a long AUish kinda deal so putting it below the cut If you wanna keep reading.
Okay so hear me out here. Tails goes off on his own to prove to himself and the world he's capable and doesn't always need Sonic to save the day and that Tails is a hero in his own right. And the old villains (and maybe some new ones) take note that "oh okay this kid is actually more of a problem then we gave him credit for." Heck in one of the Eggman voice things in Frontiers Eggman even says he Tails is pretty formidable but he thinks Tails hero worship of Sonic is squashing some of that potential (and that, that's good for Eggman).
Tails solo time just ends up just painting a bit of a target on his back from villains. Cause now they see what Tails is capable on his own away from Sonic and that scares them a bit. Cause here comes an 8 year old (idk if that's his age any more in Frontiers I know that there was a thing going around saying that they did try to mature the characters a bit in that game but I still don't see Tails any older than like 10 at this point) but here comes a kid that can wreck their shit in ways they never prepared for cause most of their plans and defenses revolved around Sonic.
So during the next villain threat after Tails comes back from his solo time, they don't target Sonic they target Tails. And like good luck to whoever they're up against cause Tails is hard to take down and can take care of himself. But their main goal and plan is to take out Tails first then maybe Sonic cause now they see how much of a threat Tails is.
But the flip side of this is that this makes Sonic go into protective older brother overdrive. Cause yeah people they have gone up against in the past have targeted Tails (and with the exception of Starline) it's usually done to get to Sonic more so than really take out Tails. But this time the villain is pretty much ignoring Sonic and is gunning for his little brother.
And yeah Sonic knows Tails is capable and all and can handle himself but he's still worried cause again that's his little brother and someone is specifically trying to hurt Tails. (I also don't think he'd be too over protective like making Tails sit out the fight on like a lockdown but he def would try to keep Tails away from the villain, or at least not fighting them alone, and have some of their friends guard him a bit in the fight) And maybe Sonic is a bit more brutal than normal against this threat, he's still all quips and taunting but to anyone who knows him there is defiantly a bit more focus and intent is his attacks.
Extra bit: The villain(s) they're fighting do get a solid hit on Tails and pretty much take him out of the fight (it doesn't kill Tails but it def is gonna leave a scar) or do manage to nab Tails and run. If they kidnapped Tails (and not as a threat to Sonic but because they have plans for Tails and go into hiding with him) Sonic goes into full panic no sleeping no eating mode till they find Tails. And when Sonic gets a hold of them by that point just goes full terminator and just takes them down pretty brutally cause they hurt/took Tails.
Bonus Points if Sonic goes Dark Sonic mode on them.
Idk just an little AU for post Frontiers cause protective mode big brother Sonic gives me life and I really think the villains in this series really need to take Tails more seriously as a threat.

Top 10 Spider-man villains I wanna see in the 4th MCU Spider -Man movie
So one thing I like about Spider-Man movies is each one taps into a diffrent baddie from the rogues gallery (With the exceptions of No Way Home where old villains came back and Amazing Spiderman 2 which reused Harry Osborne as Green Goblin )So I feel like we have to continue that tradition.....Problem .....We are running out of the main rogues gallery, and with Sony taking candidates and making dumb solo movies no one wants,th wells getting dry (Yeah if that dumb Kraven movie wasnt coming out,Kraven would be my number one )
10.Beetle-I like his design, could be fun
Tumblr media
9.Silvermane-So Marvel says they want the next film to be low key and a way to do that would be Spidey against organized crime .Of the crime boss villains,Silvermane is the one I am least interested in ,butcybernetic old man could work
Tumblr media
8.Tombstone:Spectacular Spiderman showed this guy could work as a super intimidating villain, not my top choice but he could work
Tumblr media
7.Hammerhead -I dunno if he could work in live action as hes very Dick Tracyish ,but I have a fondness for this guy
Tumblr media
6.Mr Negative -I dont have him higher cause he is so recent and I dont know much about him but I know hes popular and I like his look
Tumblr media
5.Scorpion-Theyve set him up in the MCU ,not sure I want him as a big bad but want pay off
Tumblr media
4.Jackal -The cloning dude.....I dunno how with the way MCU has been handled they can make him work, but hey he is an important villain in Spideys rogues gallery
Tumblr media
3.Kingpin-I mean he is technically in the MCU already, and while I am grumpy Spidey hasnt faced a villain that is JUST his in the MCU (Vulture and Mysterio being motivated due to being pissed at Tony Stark and the villains of No Way Home are all from other Spider Men ),I love Kingpin,he is actually my fave Spidey villain,I love Vincent D'Onofrios take, and am admittedly giddy at the idea of them facing off
Tumblr media
2.The Chameleon-Been established in MCU ,and honestly Im surprised SPIDEYS FIRST FOE hasnt been a big bad yet
Tumblr media
1.Hobgoblin-The villain who I think would be PERFECT for MCU Spidey
Tumblr media
@ariel-seagull-wings @piterelizabethdevries @the-blue-fairie @themousefromfantasyland @theancientvaleofsoulmaking @princesssarisa @countesspetofi @filmcityworld1 @angelixgutz @amalthea9

So! I've seen a post doing some qsmp classpect, and I have not been able to get it out of my head since. So here's my two cents about the french team's classpect!
Pomme: I found her the hardest to determine, because compared to the other eggs, she seems to have less personnality and act in a more childish way: for example there is lots of things she does not know the meaning of (lots of words, some concepts too, like death). I'm not sure wich traits are really part of her personality and which are caused by the fact that she's really just a child. But well, other eggs aren't that old either, so here's my thoughts about that: -Her lack of personnality could be linked to the fact that her aspect isn't that present yet, like if she was a page (or a maid, some seems to believe maids start their journey lacking their aspect) -She has very few autonomy. This kinda is the case for other eggs, they are always with a caretaker, but I think it's particulary true for Pomme who was introduced at a time where the eggs had to be almost locked away, given how dangerous the situation was. In her first house, she didn't even had a way to get out alone. This lack of liberty could be linked to a lack of Breath. -She also have a kind of credulity/naivety which could fit a Breath Player. She is very suggestible: Etoiles took her to an art museum, Baghera said that she should be an artist after 1 painting and later Pomme said that she wanted to be an artist. Aypierre bring her turtles, Baghera tell a story about a turtle, and bam, the next day turtles are her favorite animal -This also works on people: she seemed very afraid of Cocorico and Cellbit despite them not ever doing anything to her, it was only on the basis of discussions she heard. But well, it was discussions between people she trusted, as were the suggestion. So this could also be Blood related? Richarlysons "kidnapping" was a few of the thing I believe she took at heart without anyone suggesting it. She was also quite concerned when Etoiles was bummed out about the grappling thing, even if Baghera didn't notice it. And of course, there is the fact that she was assigned parents, and both her and the parents accepted it without question. But well once again, this one is true for all the eggs. -Other random stuff I noted while trying to figure her out: She seems to write more neatly than other eggs (majuscules, more constructed sentences (or is this one a french language thing?)). She is more sad/afraid for other eggs than for herself. She likes building/decoration and have sometimes been handling it without prompt (on some of the art gallery parts, or for her panic room) I could see her being a Page of Breath. I like the idea of Blood, but none of the class match that much with it. I look forward seeing her a bit more fleshed out!
Baghera: Life, obviously. She's really energic, too much sometimes, with a lot of projects, concerned with other people's life. I think Maid of Life is a great fit! But like, an end-game maid, kinda bossy (especially with etoiles, poor etoiles), won't take no shit, unstoppable force.
Aypierre: Space all the way. Curious and creative, patient, well-versed in redstone/create mod stuff, enough to invent his own farms, always ready to teach it to others, all of space encompass him so much that it's hard to think of anything else than Space of Space. Maybe more of a passive class? Sylph could work.
Etoiles: If Aypierre is Space of Space, Etoiles is Rogue of Rogue. It might not be apparent from other streams, but he's quite often self-deprecating, that fits well with rogue's lack of confidence. He's also doing a loooot for other, he helped french players gear up and gave them other materials they asked for, he's putting their wants before his. I think Time is an aspect that fits him, he can be impatient, he's very determined, like that one time he farmed for a grapple during 4 hours even if he hated every second of it and talked about giving up every 15 min. That's a thing he often does actually, switching between "fin de rush" (=the rush is over =he's facing a challenge he can't get over, or at least not quickly enough to pursue what's he's doing) and "c'est gagné" (=it's won = actually the thing he's pursuing is super easy to achieve) a lot, over and over. That's like if his Rogue lack of confidence and his Time determination were battling! Or maybe it could only be linked to Time, with stuff not being worth it if it's not fast enough. And also the fact that this pattern is repeating again and again… Time stuff. Actually the more I think about it the more I find little Time symbolics, like how he loves doing MLG, a thing that require good timing, even if his armor prevents him from taking most fall damage and the use of the glider is easier. Also the way he sometimes uses music to convey stuff, as opposed to just background noise like most streamers. And the Rogue of Time association is really funny to me, considering he's kinda stealing his own time to give it to others!
Antoine: He hasn't streaming much, but I think the last session with Cellbit was very interesting, and also, I've been a viewer of his for quite some times and this gave me some opinions about the way he may play on qsmp, it might completely false, but still. He's often joking around but in a way that seems deconnected from reality, it's hard to explain but he's playing a very caricatural role, but so seriously that it doesn't seem like a joke anymore, it just become his character. At least that's what he did on another rp, and based on his qsmp sessions, I think that comes naturally to him so he'll do it again. So I kinda see him as a destructive class of Heart, both of those class also fit him, Prince for the importance/superiority he gives himself, Bard for the funnyguy side of him that makes him kinda unpredictable. I can also see destruction of a certain way of thinking in his interaction with Cellbit, when he asked him what he wanted to do now, why did a simple joke made him do that, and even if he said that out of anger, do he actually want 100% of Richas parenthood, etc. There is also a Mind logic going on, and with destructive class ghosting their aspect, this is a bit of a mess… So yeah, Prince/Bard of Heart/Mind, figuring out which combination it is exactly is too exhausting.
Kameto: Uuh… He has been the least active, I'm not a viewer of his, and the only relevant thing I could use is the fact that when told the eggs may have been given to them just to make them suffer in the end, he suggested to kill them all now. Which isn't a lot to work on, and it doesn't give me something right away, so i'll pass… Maybe Doom, but that's it.
BONUS non-french classpecting!
Cellbit: The post that inspired this one put him into Light, I don't remember which class but I 100% agree on Light, spotlight, search of knowledge, weird relation with rules, etc. I see him as a passive class, a Sylph maybe? Personality wise it's the one that fits the most, and it also works with his last plan, using his spotlight to bring knowledge to others. (And this is out of classpect but god do I dislike the recurring Light thing of putting themselves as the main character, that's exactly how I see his "martyr" plan, at least he's doing it for the sake of everyone on the island, unlike Vriska who did everything wrong)
Dapper: SPACE! Mostly because on a session they would definitively love breeding frogs! It also works because they are really good at the game, be it thanks to mechanicals skills or the amount of knowledge they have about various aspects of the game. This last thing makes me lean towards a knowledge class? But personnality wise it doesn't match that much so I don't know. Heir maybe?
Forever: Thinking about Rage, will not elaborate.
If you've read everything: why? Thank you, and sorry.

Grumpy Wally edition...
Waving his eighty-ninth doughnut for attention, Wally huffed out. “Don’t let the endorsement fool you. They may not be crazy clowns or megalomaniacal billionaires, but the Rogues still suck. Snart especially.”
“You’re just annoyed that he still treats you like a kid,” Barry pointed out gently.
“Damn right I am.” Wally kicked his heels at the floor and crammed the doughnut into his mouth. “For my last birthday, he sent me a bunch of Kid Flash merch. It was this big basket of action figures and tee shirts and a card calling me Sport, and it was humiliating! He’s always trying to embarrass me. Do you have any idea what that kind of thing does to a guy’s self esteem? Where did he even get any of that stuff? It was all original KF, not Ace or Bart. He had to have been planning it for ages. And Linda made me send him a Thank You card! Which, fine. Okay. I can handle that. But did he have to send a bouncy castle too? I don’t even know how he got it set up in the backyard without anyone noticing, and I couldn’t get the twins off of it for three days.”
“Last week,” Bruce said quietly. “One of my gallery had me bound and gagged as he injected me with a toxin that made me relive some of my most traumatic memories while my family were forced to battle one another for his amusement. I wasn’t sure if my children were going to survive. Do you have any idea what that kind of thing does to a guy’s psyche?”
The colour drained from Wally’s face and he looked like he wanted to vibrate through the floor to vanish. “Um.” He glanced at Bruce out of the corner of his eye. “Chocolate sprinkle?” he offered, holding out the box to him.
Bruce considered letting him squirm for a few more seconds, but after all, for his last birthday the Riddler had sent him a lovely card and bouquet of flowers that hadn’t even been rigged to explode.

Since I'm starting to interact with more of the Rogues gallery and starting to get to know ones from different pieces of media, it might be about time to share my headcanons for Tim's opinons on them in general because going through everyone is going to take forever especially since there's plenty I haven't had the chance to interact with yet and form an opinion on.
Also! All rogue interactions will happen in my Knighthood verse! Bruce's last case was solved, the plot of the Gotham Knights game has been handled and it's been long enough that Arkham has been rebuilt.
As a general rule, Tim will prioritise getting victims and hostages to safety over bantering with whoever he's dealing with that night. He will banter but only when it's safe to split his attention like that and not with every rogue. Black Mask, Joker, Bane, that kind of utterly vicious calibre? Absolutely not. He's more focused on surviving.
He's a defensive and stealthy fighter, he will stay hidden for as long as he can and not reveal himself until he has to.
With Bruce dead, he sticks to the philosphy to listen and try to empathise or at least understand if he can't empathise because anyone can end up in the same place as one of the rogues. All it takes is one bad day. That can happen to anyone. So if you're not actively causing trouble, he will sometimes just sit and chat especially if he's built some kind of rapport with someone.
He visits Harvey (@twcfaces) in Arkham regularly. He won't explain why and he's keeping those visits to himself for the time being. Harvey was kind to him the last time Tim went into sensory overload when checking him in and as it turns out, they have a few similarities. And Harvey isn't the only one.
Tim is a genius, he grew up very lonely, he's autistic and was never allowed to talk about it and, as much as he refuses to acknowledge it, he grew up emotionally neglected. He very easily could have been counted among the rogues if he'd made different choices. But that didn't happen and instead, he tries to ask questions and get them talking. If things end in a fight, then so be it.
He's also starting to visit Query and Echo occasionally to see if they've got any information he might have missed.
He tries not to jump straight into fighting. He'll pick off stragglers from the shadows, he'll sneak hostages out, he'll tackle things quietly unless he has no choice. If the situations is dire, he'll jump straight in and try to end things quickly.
He sees the corruption too, okay? He gets how infuriating it is. GCPD doesn't like him much right now either. He's angry about it too. He hates that so many people are unsafe and there's only so much he can do about it at night. He's starting to lean into the idea that he can help during the day too just like Bruce did, just as Dick does now. Money talks. Tackle the problems at the root. Which is why he asks questions, he tries to understand, as long as he's the only one in danger he'll even play along for a while.

Another couple of days went by and she finished packing, leaving her suitcase by the front door so she wouldn’t be rolling it through the house over the wood floors when her Uber got there.
“You got your toothbrush?” Syverson asked as he, she, and Mike sat around her room and she nodded.
“Packed my travel one.”
“Spare chargers?”
“And powerbanks, just in case.”
“Your itinerary?”
“On my phone.”
“You already check-in?” He asked but she shook her head.
“I can do that when I get there and get my boarding passes.”
“Got your rental handled?” He asked and she sighed.
“Sy, it’s covered.” She said and he gave her a look.
“Just makin’ sure you didn’t forget anything.” He said.
“This ain’t my first rodeo.” She said and Walter poked his head into her room through the partially open door.
“Looking for you.” He said.
“I know that look, that’s the “bad news Bear bearing bad news” look.” She said and he snorted.
“The winter storm was upgraded to a full on blizzard.” He said, “We’re supposed to be getting a record amount of snowfall. I checked the flights, yours and every other one has been preemptively canceled.”
“Fuck.” She said, “I could always drive. I’d get there a couple days behind schedule, but it’d be doable.”
“The roads will be a mess, love.” Walter said, “You know August won’t let you out in that.”
“Not if I leave early enough, he never has to know.”
“I don’t have to know what?” August asked, pushing open the door wider.
“Sophie’s flights were canceled.” Walter said, “Inclement weather.”
“I was actually looking forward to this one! It was in Vegas!” She whined and fell back on her bed.
“I thought you didn’t have time to do anything on your trips.” August said and she turned her head to look at them.
“I don’t. Doesn’t mean I can’t admire the pretty lights from my hotel room window.” Sophie said.
“We should all go to Vegas!” Mike said with an eager smile, “It’d be fun! The six of us on the Strip! Showgirls!”
“Blackjack and Texas Hold’em.” Syverson said wistfully.
“All you can eat buffets.” Walter said just as wistfully.
“I’ll see if I can plan something.” August said with a sigh. “For now: Sophie, you’re not driving to Vegas in the weather we’re getting. End of story.”
“Fuck it, fine.” She said, laying her arm over her eyes before flailing a little in a pout. “I love you guys, I really do, but these are the only times I get to have to myself. Outside of the work stuff.”
“We don’t bother you, do we?” Mike asked and she reached over, patting his leg.
“No, Puppy, you don’t bother me. I just like getting away every now and then and these trips let me do that.” Sophie said, “I’ll call work and let them know, but chances are they already do.”
“I’ll call them.” August said and she looked at him again.
“No, it’s fine, I got it.” She said, “I’ll send them an email, too, for good measure. Just so they have something in writing. Walter, can you send me a screenshot to my email of the canceled flights from the airline website?”
“I’ll do it right now.” He said and ducked out of her room to head back to his.
“We’ll leave you to it.” Syverson said and got up from his seat, mussing with Mike’s hair as he went past, the youngest Alpha getting up from her bed. They moved around August who stood in her doorway fully, crossing his arms over his chest.
“What?” She asked and he just stared at her for a moment before turning and walking away without a word. Getting up from her bed, she closed the door with a sigh. “It’s going to be fine. It’s going to be okay.” She whispered to herself before heading back over to her bed and picking up her phone, she had plans and reservations to cancel.
It started snowing late that night, blanketing the world in white and she stared at the snowfall out of her window, the familiar ache starting her muscles making her sigh, rolling her head to try to relieve the tension in her neck.
