Kuro is always the one to die first. Mickbell is the one that has to go through the anguish of knowing he saw the only one he truly considers a family die. Look at his face when he realizes Kuro died/is going to die.

Mickbell doesn't cry here because he's afraid for his own safety or scared of what just happened. He cries because Kuro put himself into great danger and got killed.

I'll always wonder what would happen if Mick gets killed first.

I also think its just sort of sad that the night scene implies that Curly regularly wanders the ship when he has insomnia because he can't bare to just lay alone in his cabin with his thoughts. Of course he tosses and turns like he says, but it’s rather peculiar that it’s this night of all nights he just happens to go in a stroll.

And that no one else notices cause he’s the Captain and of course it’s not there job to send him off to bed, but it is the fact they get to rest and he likely doesn’t think he has to or should. Which of course already worsens his sleeping habits and awareness outside of what he sees as duty. He’s like a dog patrolling the parameter cause he has to, not cause he thinks there’s a reason but because it’s practically innate and he still was much of a defense or guard…

tbh I couldn’t for the life of me pick a color palette I liked And Render it so I gave up on color. Enjoy the half assery.

Tbh I’ve just been call it Ithacan Naga, but it’s objectively it’s a mix of snake, owl/bird, and human. So 🤷.

Tbh the wings are supposed to be white/gray-brown, cause owls & Hermes, while his scales are supposed to be an oscillating scale from sea green-blue to purple-tinted gray. Uhm. Evidently that sorta didn’t happen but also did. So.

The purple/grayer scales are gonna be more around with the feathers and wings.

Those fin colors are. Too blue and too bright but I love the colors themselves so they’re staying for now.

What a whirlwind, and the arc isn't even near over yet

And I'd just like to say, we've gotten a lot more of Akutagawa's introspection about Atsushi than we have of Atsushi's introspection about Akutagawa

Which kind of makes me sad, because I'm dying to know Atsushi's true feelings for Akutagawa. We know that Atsushi cares about Akutagawa, hell, even loves him, and is willing to die for him. We know Akutagawa is a large part of his life and he's never in the back of Atsushi's mind, we know he's seen Akutagawa's past now and fully understands who Akutagawa is as a person now

But I want to know more, with definite words. I want to know how Atsushi reacted to Akutagawa's death after swimming to mainland and being picked up by Ango. I want to know how Atsushi mourned him, how Atsushi truly felt the loss. I adore how Asagiri writes them and I really can't wait to see more of Atsushi's development towards Akutagawa be revealed

Does Atsushi still have his coat? Did Atsushi feel completely alone without him? Has Atsushi even come to terms with his own feelings for Akutagawa?

I love, love, love the Akutagawa/Sskk growth we've gotten, but I still desperately want to see more of Atsushi's perspective on it

He cares about Akutagawa, he loves Akutagawa, and I want to see more of this. More of the conflicting moral of loving someone like Akutagawa, more of Atsushi finding solace in loving Akutagawa; his other half, more of Atsushi learning to love and be loved

Atsushi is so wonderfully written and complex, and chapter 123 really added to his journey to healing from his trauma, and idk, for me, I'm excited to see more of Atsushi's side of sskk

shanks dies, Mihawk joins the red hair pirates.

but actually think about it. Shanks killed by Blackbeard before anyone gets to laughtale Mihawk distraught half out of his mind.

can't imagine not being surrounded by Shanks and his everything. Breaks unto the redforce collapses in the captain's quarters haunted by all the times Shanks wanted him to stay. how he went from asking him to join his crew, to asking him to stay just for a few more minutes, to asking nothing of him at all but Mihawk could still see the wistful smile every time he left at the break of dawn.

Mihawk haunted by the fact that if Shanks asked him now, now that it was too late, to just stay; he would. and now here he is on the red force, in Shanks' room stuck in a moment in time like the man himself will step in any minute with a quip that will delight him but he will have to pretend annoys, like they will just fall back into their routine like they always do when they haven't seen each other in months.

But Shanks will never walk through those doors again. and the red force has a new captain and Mihawk will never get the chance to tell Shanks yes. And now he has to kill Blackbeard and hope that Roronoa will come for his head soon.

and he never officially joins but he never leaves either.

Mihawk has never loved anyone enough to lose them he has absolutely no frame work for this he's devastated. a walking ship wreck
