Hi so recently I've become a huge jariel shipper thanks to your content and literally have looked at everything by you. Your art, your fic Landlocked, even Ocean's aria! I was wondering if by any chance there were any other fics/comics you'd recommend because i literally don't know where else to look! Love your work by the way!

I don't know where else to look either! I'm very picky about fanfic (a me problem), and I haven't seen any comics of them. I'm always been more of an amv person. It's how I got started on Jariel, all those years ago...

So here's my Jariel playlist. It's incomplete, but I've opened it to collaborators so you can add your favorites. there are some really good ones on there! Broken Road is the very first one I saw, and I think it set some standards for Ariel/Jim edits back in the day.

For a challenge in the Wish Re-write community.

I'm not much of a 3D artist myself, so I do hope this turned out okay. I drew it all with my finger on my phone. (RIP to my finger. ☝🏼)

The prompt was to make a Wish style poster for Starboy. I chose to surround him with the various characters that have inspired my headcanon of him, along with the ones he was initially inspired by. So here they are.

For princes, I chose Phillip and Eric. Two classic heroic love interests from Disney.

For magical beings, Starboy was inspired by Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and Genie. But I also chose to add the Spring Sprite from Fantasia 2000, because she is very youthful and joyous.

For non-princes, I chose Taran and Jim Hawkins, since they're young and adventurous.

And the last one I chose was Ariel, particularly when she lost her voice. Because my personal headcanon for Starboy is that he's mute. Plus, Ariel is curious and fun.

This pic is one of the biggest examples of hypocrisy on the Internet. For none of these characters being a ginger was important, some of them still had red hair despite different skin colour, and most importantly the same people who use it ignore Matt Murdock, Scott Lang, etc. They never complain about it when a character is still white but not ginger like Matt, Scott or Gordon, and many others. Let's run through some of these characters, Gordon wasn't ginger in any live action adaptation. He barely was in animation, and no one complained. Artemis was such a minor character in WW movie that no one would figure out it's her without checking the cast list. Electro is in his electric form for most of the movie, so who cares about his hair or skin colour? Honestly, who cared or knew about Firefist and Cecil? CW Wally was based on his New 52 variant, who's black, so that is invalid. Miss Martian is not really ginger. That's not her real form, just a humanoid disguise to make people more comfortable around her. The same goes for her live action appearance. April wasn't ginger in 2014 live action movie, and no one complained, not to mention in her original design that she didn't have red hair either. Batgirl, Starfire, Cyclone, Daphne, and Ariel still had red hair, not to mention Triss hair was red after season 1. If these people really cared about "gingercide" then they would complain about Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Gary Oldman and JK Simmons as Gordon, Megan Fox as April, etc. But they don't. Not to mention, there are still red head characters, true, but there aren't many of them, but still. In live action, it's mostly because it's not very common hair colour.

It girl Ariel goes against her father's wishes and goes to school for anthropology. While there, she crosses paths with Jim, a skating engineering student. He immediately dislikes her. But Ariel finds his disdain charming, and she takes up the challenge of befriending him.

It was Calypso's birthday, and the fireworks were booming away in the night sky. They were so bright and loud that even under the ocean, they caught the attention of the mermaid Ariel. Her father, King Stede, thought she was home working on homework, but she had snuck out of her room to treasure hunt.

When she surfaced and saw the massive pirate ship, Ariel was intrigued and went to investigate. What she saw onboard was a whole bunch of joyous people loving life and each other.

She was watching them dance when her friend, Buttons the Seagull, came to say hello. She tried to make him go away so he wouldn't alert the pirates of her presence, but he didn't listen…like usual. As they watched the party continue, a very handsome bearded man started to sing.

Now, even the mermaids knew about Blackbeard, so as the lovely song filled the sea air, Ariel recognized him leaning against the railing. Seconds later, she watched as he went to move but slipped and tumbled backward into the ocean.

Ariel went to rescue him but found her dad had gotten there first. Guess he had figured out that she wasn't at home doing her schoolwork and had come to find her. Hmm…her dad and Blackbeard were staring at each other rather oddly.

Oh! OHHH!

And then Ariel watched as her dad transformed into a human and went with the pirate onto the ship. Blackbeard found some clothes for Stede, and Ariel smiled as the besotted man introduced her dad to the crew.

Her attention turned upward then as a new set of fireworks started. It wasn't until the last sizzle of color faded from the night sky that she noticed her dad and Blackbeard were not on deck. Wanting to be sure the dreaded pirate didn't hurt her dad, Ariel swam around and looked in all the windows for them.

OHHHH F#ck!!! She shouldn't have looked in that window! As happy as she was for her dad, that was definitely not the image she wanted to have burned into her brain!
