So, as you may already know, Russian Supreme court has banned 'international LGBT movement' as an 'extremist organisation'. I rarely post something, but let me share some news and tell you how the situation feels to me, a bisexual 22yo living in Russia.

Now, according to law, you will face up to 12 years of imprisonment if you somehow show that you're gay or support gay rights - even if you're wearing a 6-colour rainbow pin on your T-shirt. Even if you're holding hands.

Yesterday a TV channel in Saint's Petersburg was fined for showing a music video for a song by Sergey Lazarev (you may remember him as a Eurovision participant in 2016 and 2019) where two girls are showing affection. In the official statement, the vid was described as containing 'fragments showing interacting hands (caressing each other) belonging to two different people of the same sex, i.e. potentially perceived as a tactile, sensual interaction of individuals broadcasting their homosexual preferences'.

I have a girlfriend, we've been together for 2 years now. We used to hold hands when outside sometimes - not in super public places, but you know, quiet spots in a park where you are unlikely to meet anyone. Physical touch is one of my main love languages, and having my gf touch my shoulder to reassure me or take my hand to show affection means so much to me. My heart actually skips a beat when she does that.

We are planning to move in this January. And it is so scary that people might notice. That there might be a neighbour that would rat you out. That you might forget changing pronouns from 'her' to 'he' while mentioning your partner - and spend years in jail.

Yesterday, there were raids of special police units on LGBTQ+ night clubs (that are not saying openly what they actually are ofc) under the pretense of 'illegal drug sale'. People were not let out without taking a photo of their passports.

Two of my queer friends were supposed to go there and ended up not going only because one of them didn't feel well. He was so lucky not to feel well.

Some might say that we should know better than to hold hands in parks and go to undercover gay clubs knowing we're living in Russia - that we could live without this provocation. That is not entirely false.

But the thing is, even two years ago, when I started dating my girlfriend and before the war in Ukraine, no one seemed to really care. I can't speak for the entire LGBTQ+ community, but I'd say if we were living quietly our undercover gay life, we were more ignored than actually oppressed. Even when the 'LGBT propaganda law' was passed, at least you could get away with a fine for showing a rainbow. Now you don't. We won't hold hands or go to gay parties, you win.

And that's scary.

I would love to know how to fight, but I'm just so tired.

The hospital she was in was dimly light, making her set up also turn dim so when you snuck into the background of her office the viewers didn't immediately clock into you. You stood there for about 30 seconds, forcing your body to imitate the movements of the undead enemies that hunted Ellie.

What we can say happened for certain coz it seems like it would be protocol, would be Bangpd holding a meeting with all 7 of them. Jikook being together affects the entire group after all. So their boss calling them all together after everything has been said and done is a thing I think we can all agree on, probably happened.

As for the rest it's all guess work on my end of course since like I mentioned apart from parties involved, there's no way of having an exact answer to this.

So this is just what I think happened and I wouldn't mind seeing in the comment section what others think also.

I dont recall Jhope talking alot about women but between Suga saying his type is a man with a beard and JK a girl with muscles and Jimin shamelessly wanting JK, it's easy to peg Yoonminkook from jump. RM, Jin and V however, if u watch their early content there is a way they talk that's super hetero. The word wife and girlfriend and kids used to be thrown around which is why I've always pegged Jin as straight. (Yes gay men can have kids too but Taejin meant with women for sure) while I think RM is bi, these 3 emitted the most heteronomative vibes to me.

My point is, I can see this being why RM could have possibly missed what was happening right under his nose. As for V, due to his original views on homosexuality I would've put him in this category if Vminkook weren't as close as they used to be. But the general consensus is that V felt some type of way when Jikook got together since he kind of lost his best friend to JK. Its because of this I can see V putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

First it was him and Jimin hanging out together. Then JK wants to join them all the time so now they're the close trio. But then suddenly Jikook are hanging out without him or keep disappearing and coming up with weird excuses. Idk if you've ever had friends that were shagging, but things start to get weird and suspicious real quick and before you know it, you've worked out they're hooking up. Especially when u start to feel like the 3rd wheel. I imagine that's what happened with V. The moment he realised Jimin likes dudes it was game over, really.

The reason why I think Jin didn't need to be told is coz the Jinkook dynamic is really strong. And we know it was this way from the beginning. What with Jin taking JK under his wing and being like a dad to him almost. He looked after him and made sure he got everything he wanted. And even though they have a Tom and Jerry dynamic going on I think JK respects the shit out of this man. I can see even now in 2023 Jimin going to Jin when JK won't listen and tells him to talk to JK or something like that. And it doesn't even have to be for a Jikook fight. I can see Jimin going to Jin about any concerns he could have about JK. Anyway, my point is, I think JK told Jin himself. That is, if Jin didn't already figure it out. Even if he told JK "I knew already" I can see JK wanting to tell Jin himself.

I cannot place Suga and I go back and forth for 2 reasons. 1) Him being queer himself may have made him automatically figure it out, couple that with him liking, liking Jimin, but noticing Jimin likes JK instead. Or 2) Suga likes to mind his own business and so he don't pay attention to members personal lives unless he needs to. Plus he was busy trying to practice hard on this complex choreo he didn't sign up for and had producing and writing to worry about.... idk guys. Idk about our mans Suga. But I lean more towards number 1 because just coz he minds his business doesn't mean he don't notice what goes on around him 🤔

As for Jhope this is a no brainer, really. We don't even need to headcannon this y'all. He was the first to know. Didn't even need to be told. JK was around them all the time in their room, in Jimin's bed. I wouldn't be surprised if he accidentally walked in on a make out session once or twice. Or that one time they thought he was sleeping and they started making out, little did they know Jhope could hear everything

For sure. I agree. At some point Jikook must have decided to actually say something to the members. Maybe 2016? I think that by Osaka Vlive all members knew. After that live no one was allowed to budge into another member's room without warning ever again so for that to have happened means all for them saw what we saw, which means they knew. So by 2016 they all knew.

V, Jin and Jhope of course told them they already knew. Maybe Suga too? And only RM was shook 😂😂 i can't picture otherwise guys. Tell me he's not confused AF here. He's like; what in the world is going on???

Yes. Especially RM as the leader. I'm sure as soon as he found out he was already thinking about the downside. Jin and Jhope supported them immediately and told them to be careful. V and Suga did not address repercussions. I don't see them caring about that.

Like I said their rlship affects the group so yeah an official meeting with Bangpd had to have been had about this. Their contracts had to be adjusted, etc.

But I believe Bangpd supports them 1000% and was quite lenient with them until 2022/2023.

April, with her beautiful smile, would wear this for her sad days. Or even when she wasn't shy enough, she'd do so on public dates.

God- her smile. It just does something to you that you could never explain into better and enough words. Nothing could ever compare to how that girl made you felt. Your tail swished back and forth, sticking high in the air.

The way she talked, or the way she walked. How her lips quirk upwards at a horrible pun, or how her feet step to the beat of a song as she sits in a chair.

Whenever she talked to you, or when she pecked you to sleep. Where her hands were as you kissed, or when she held your face lovingly. You took another breath in and held the hoodie tighter.

You couldn't help but kick your feet, helplessly falling in love all over again. Your chest thrumbled out a pathetic giggle, your smile getting wider by the millisecond.

Hearing the door open, you slowly lift your head towards the person this whole thing was about! April chuckled at your doped out face, your wiggly smile, the occasional jiggle or kick your body would give.

"Hey baby girl, you okay? ha- you look dizzy" She smiled softly, looking down at you.

All you could do was nod, before promptly failing to keep your head up any longer. You hummed deeply, spoiled by the smell of the hoodie. April reached down to touch your head, helping you (somehow?) relax even more.

Not even a second later your were nuzzling your hand and purring like crazy. Suddenly, you pounced on her, taking her by hip, and nuzzling her chest. Your tail was curling around one of her arms.

April, despite being on her back, pulled you closer. She noticed how blissed out you seemed. The dilation of your pupils, the way you sighed so lovingly, how your fur seemed to relax even further with every brush of her hand.

ah.

"You got stuck in those scent fantasies, huh?" You nodded quickly, a mewl spilling out, looks like you rendered yourself non-verbal. "If you wanna cuddle just ask- okay?"

Its like weren't even hearing her, she could tell. It was always hard to snatch you from those clouds, but April never minded.

After all, she loved you just as much.

what relevance does gladstone have in the comics? like. in terms of relations, plots, character in generalll because i dont know much in generals

Uhmmmmmm Well he's Donald's super lucky cousin that's his main thing. His 3 main consistent traits are 1. SUPER LUCKY probably most important one 2. Lazy cuz of said luck. this is both just because of the nature of living his whole life lucky but also in a lot of comics his luck will punish him for working so like. #sucks 3. Egotistical as fuck.

the intricacies of his personality kind of depends on who's writing him my favorite kind is when he's an asshole to donald but mostly just kind of clueless and unaware. his ass does not pay attention. esp when you can't really tell if he's purposely pushing Donald's buttons or was just made in a lab to specifically piss him off. I think it's both tbh.

^ one of my favorite examples. He's really funny. I mostly see this in Barks comics and stuff obviously inspired by him.

like it's just a really good phenomenon. He's mostly a character who is a hindrance to Donald but in which way depends on the plot. I've noticed a sort of cycle where it's like. Donald doesn't like Gladstone cuz Gladstone is an ass to him (understandable), but even if Gladstone is not actively trying to piss him off and just existing Donald will usually be mean to him (both cuz Gladstone is an ass but also his luck pisses him off soooo much), which causes Gladstone to be annoyed back and purposely piss him off. What if both of you stopped. freaks. this is just kind of Donald's nature tbh but this isn't about him.

^ that's just like. my favorite interpretation. there are so many versions of these characters cuz of all the different writers and I usually just take my favorite parts of the different version, but barks is def my fave just purely 1 version of gladstone wise. Rosa Gladstone is usually just an asshole for no reason and a really big one. It's kind of funny. I don't have it on me but there's one comic where he specifically walks ontop of Donald and uses his hat to clean his feet for no reason. what a freak.

you can tell it's Rosa Gladstone by that he looks kind of gay. sorry I didn't say that. Rosa's artstyle is really distinct tho lol, sometimes he has blonde hair it depends on who colored it (inking and coloring are done seperately. this is also why some comics have different versions of the same story with different colors)

uhm the 3rd most well known version of gladstone is topolino gladstone I don't really have much to say abt him. he's much nicer than other version usually. there's versions within topolino cuz topolino is like. a bigger thing. rather than just a single writer. I kind of got off track. there's also dt17 gladstone but. again I got off track.

uhmm.. the three main kind of stories gladstone appears in are. 1. Gladstone centric. 2. hinderance to Donald 3. just kind of there because the whole Duck family is there. then there's categories within those. also dd comics loveee reusing plots btw this is why they're so easily to put into catergorie

gladstone centric comics usually center around either him 1. getting sad about his luck cuz people exploit him or don't like him cuz of it 2. he either loses his luck or THINKS he loses his luck and freaks out because of it. these get kind of repetitive but I like how they explore his relationship to his luck 3. who up exploiting the golden goose. other characters love taking advantage of his luck and it always blows up in their face cuz his luck serves him and only him. lol. lmao.

hinderance to donald comics are uhm. big category and includes most of his apperances. stuff includes like 1. donald is in a competition and it turns out gladstone is also in it. 2. kind of the same as b4 but there's a lot of stories where it's specifically a raffle??? 3. donald and gladstone fight over daisy. I hate these comics. a lot. they're often just really misogynistic... if I can get away with it I try and read them as if Gladstone is just kind of odd and one of his only friends happen to be his cousin's girlfriend. usually makes the stories much better LOL. I don't really like. I hate the concept of them fighting over her and the way she's written where she's two timing them basically. but also sometimes they have good parts in them... like the one where it turns out gladstone has written really sappy love letters to daisy. I like when he's sappy it' something that comes up sometimes #SAPPYFUCK. 4. scrooge makes them compete in something usually a business cuz they're his inheritors but he doesn't want either of them to have his money cuz he thinks they'll waste it. often they both technically lose or gladstone wins but either he doesn't want to do whatever scrooge wants him to do afterwards or scrooge gets scared cuz gladstone's luck can outpass him in riches lol. gladstone publishing is named after one of these stories where scrooge gets scared and so gives him a comic publishing comic cuz "who can get rich through comics?" it's a little 4th wall break that I find funny.

Definitely missed that poll too!

Yeah, I'm kind of really sad about it, because I'm the one that had asked for a version of the poll specifying if it was for the TV show or the videogame character, back in September.

Since then, I had periodically been checking on the @foundfamilyadoptionagency blog to see when submissions would reopen, so I could submit Radovid with a picture and description of the character, specifically from the TV show this time, and was planning to rally other fans (especially those that I know have a large number of Radovid/Radskier fans followers) of the character to reblog the poll so fans of the TV show and the character would hopefully see it.

I'm thinking of one person, in particular, that tends to make the notes on my own Radovid posts soar whenever she reblogs them.

But Destiny apparently had other plans, I completely missed it (therefore didn't vote, nor did I get the chance to increase its visibility among fans of the TV show and the TV show character) and, at some point, it would be ridiculous to just keep insisting for it to be reposted again and again, expecting a different result.

That being said, I was extremely surprised and very touched that they'd remembered it, though!

I was not expecting they'd be doing a second version without a reminder, or someone giving a proper submission, so a part of me went "OMFG! They're so sweet!", while at the same time face-palming that most fans I know seemed to have missed it.

I have a feeling that a lot of Radovid (show version) fans tend to check out the Radskier (Jaskier/Radovid ship) tag more often, too, since that allows us to avoid posts about the videogame character (and most Radovid posts are also connected to Jaskier and their relationship anyway).

Or they simply follow the few main blogs that keep creating and reblogging content about Radovid and Radskier directly to get their fix.

But yeah, given said main blogs did not appear to notice or repost the poll, I'm actually not at all surprised by the results.

Because "The Witcher" 's fandom is a bit of an eclectic mess of clashing ideologies, values, and extremes.

Including hardcore videogame fans that were expecting the TV show to religiously follow the narrative of the games, rather than create their own adaptation of the books.

So, while you will get people disliking Radovid for the usual (and perfectly valid, BTW) fandom reasons, such as:

They simply fail to emotionally connect or relate to him,

They feel like the show had been building a romance between Geralt and Jaskier for the first 2 seasons, only to instead pair him up with another newly introduced character in season 3.

You also have some videogame fans that are having a hard time treating these two characters as two completely different persons, and will even readily admit that they have an irrational dislike of Radovid based on his videogame counterpart.

Again, a fairly reasonable thing to happen that does affect the character's overall popularity, but usually those fans are pretty laid back about it and don't mind that people that only read the books and never played the games, or have only been watching the TV show, fell in love with the show's version of the character.

Videogame Radovid and TV show Radovid, are essentially two very different original characters that were created to serve very different purposes, that were vaguely inspired by a few lines from the books.

One is a villain people love to hate.

The other basically Netflix's version of a Disney Prince.

But then, you also have a very passionate and extremely vocal group of gamers (type "The Witcher" on YouTube, and get ready to enter incel territory!), that will be losing their shit over the fact that they made Radovid a super gentle and sensitive gay prince that admits to being scared, huddles and weeps in a corner when he finds out his guards have all been slaughtered, has a romance with Jaskier on the show, and is ready to leave his life at court behind to go chase after love; instead of the cruel, paranoid badass hypermasculine dictator king that was written for the 3rd videogame.

And then, there's also the argument that: "Jaskier is straight in the books and videogames! How dare they make Jaskier queer by having Radovid be written as Vizimir's adult younger brother instead of being his 12 y.o. son? They aged up a character just to make the show more woke and gay! It's so wrong! " we keep getting from queerphobic audiences.

Basically, TV show Radovid has been getting a large amount of hate from toxic subgroups of the gaming community ever since Jaskier was announced as being in a M/M relationship with him.

It's not even an issue they have with Radovid specifically, but the show in general.

There are entire YouTube channels devoted to hating on the show, it's creators, and everything they deem to be wrong with it, such as the way it focuses too much on Yennefer and Ciri when it's supposed to be called "The Witcher" (not "The Sorceress" or "The Child of Surprise"), having chosen to cast women with healthy and diverse body types (and ethnicities) to portray sorceresses that are described as the most beautiful women on the Continent in the books (when the videogames gave them more "conventionally attractive looking", and often white, in animated form), etc.

And that sort of general resentment towards the show for wishing to explore its own themes, being more inclusive, and taking their adaptation in a different direction than the games (and the books, at times, like most TV show and movie adaptations will do), means they'll take any opportunity they have to express their discontent.

I remember a poll, at some point where the "Radovid's character was screwed over on the Netflix show" option was winning, until the fan I'm talking about earlier reblogged it, and then the "He was treated just fine!" option won (I think the "he was screwed over" ended up with only 15% votes after it was reblogged by fans of the TV show).

So, you have gamers that hate everything about the show and the way it's different from the games... that are sharing the same space/tags as people that love the show, and either have no interest in the games, or are able to appreciate each as two very different takes on the same shared source material.

Of course they positively hate the way the TV show ignored the King Radovid from the 3rd game and created their own character. So they'll wish to "ditch" that version.

And, of course they hate videogame King Radovid, given he's meant to be hated on! He's an awful human being!

Radovid might stand a chance in a context where the fans of the TV show and of the new romance with Jaskier are given a chance to mobilize on their voting.

Otherwise, the fact that he got close to half the votes without help from any Radovid/Radskier centric blogs is actually... rather impressive!

He's actually more popular and beloved than I thought! 😆

So, don't worry too much about it. It's already extremely nice and considerate that you (the poll creator) were willing to give his TV show version a chance, so that it was clearer which one of the two characters we were voting on.

But yeah, "The Witcher" 's fandom itself is a very strange and sometimes scary place to navigate.

mmm when he appears from behind her and her spidey senses go off. its good shit

just that emotion on her face. she's sympathetic that his brother didn't accept him back, but happy that he'll still go with them on their journey.

now, this is the only time we get a voiceover from carmen (other than when she's talking to crackle in the pilot) and its such a stark choice. like the only time we ever really get an inner monologue from carmen that lets us know how she feels about it

everything about this episode is just so fantastic and different! cs thrives when it dives into character motivations...but it just doesn't do that very much. there are so many unique choices in the episode- from the untraditional infodump scene to the music to the gorgeous animation/lighting to the voiceover to the rejected redemption scene to the hints at shadowsan's true past with carmen...i could keep going on and on about it forever, but I won't. you've seen the episode. its just. argh. its so good

Letter from 1914 (world war 1 - imagine scenario)

Summary: Felix is a 25 year old, German soldier from 1914. He's never done anything in his life, for his mom to be proud of. And since his dad died (9 years ago), his mom have treated him even worse. He has an 11 year old sister (Lily), and a 32 year old aunt, Elise. When the war comes up it's super obvious for Heidi (Felix's mom) to send him to the war "to have something to be proud of for once". Little did he know that he would meet the love of his life during his time there.

About 1700 words.

Author's note: I had a school assignment where we were supposed to write like we were any person from 1914, from their POV, and I thought it would be fun to post it here. Btw, it is a gay couple in the story fyi (I can write both gay and straight couples so you know).

Hello, Aunt Elise.

It's me, Felix. The war isn't like we thought at all.

You know Mother Heidi wanted me to participate in the war so badly, so she could finally have something to be proud of. And since it was obvious to everyone we would win.

But it wasn't that simple...

We are at war on both the Eastern and Western fronts now, which is where I am right now (The western front to avoid any confusion).

War is not what we thought it was.

It's bloody and cold. And I nearly died once. But a French man saved me.

His name is Nestor and he is only a year older than me.

He has dark hair and a mixture of blue and gray eyes. He could have chosen not to save me, since he could have received huge punishment for it.

When he bumped into that soldier who was about to shoot me.

The trenches were cold. Especially now during the winter.

It's so sad that everyone has to be here during Christmas. Think of all the families waiting for their father, or brother, or husband to come home again.

But anyway.

This Christmas was not as bloody as the rest of the war.

We in the German army started singing Christmas carols.

And despite the cold.

The bloody, silent cold. It felt like home in Germany for a moment.

After a while the French- and Englishmen started singing along.

It was a man from each camp who met up in the middle, between the trenches, and decided that we should have peace. At least during the Christmas night.

We all gathered in the middle after a while, and some people even played soccer. But not me though. I've never been much for soccer, as you know.

And then I met him again.

Nestor.

He also sat on the sidelines, while the others played soccer. And I sat next to him.

It was a little awkward at first. Because I didn't know how to thank him, or because of all the fine details in his face that I couldn't notice from such a distance before and that made me a little nervous now, I couldn't say.

I saw more detail now up close.

His hair was dark, like a crow's feathers. And his eyes, like two storms out at sea.

He seemed so brave and mature in the way he watched everyone during the soccer game. As if he had been through a lot, even though he's lived barely a year longer than myself.

But he also looked a little lost. As if confused. Or perhaps miserable.

He was also quite thin. From the slender shoulders to his slim stomach, and legs. It didn't look like he was sick, but..

It just felt like it wasn't enough, in a way.

When I realized that I had been staring at his figure a second longer than I should have, I cleared my throat and looked at the ground.

I was a little ashamed. But he didn't seem to notice. Or care maybe.

We talked for a while and he was actually very nice.

He told me about his family. About being an only child, and all the pressure that came with it.

After he finished talking, I told him about mine.

He felt oddly relatable though he's in the opposite family situation compared to me.

But it felt like he understood.

All the pressure that came with this particular war. What would happen if we didn't win? And what would happen if we did?

I got a strange feeling of nausea when we talked about who would win the war.

What if we won, and he died? Or vice versa?

The thoughts were too much at that moment, so I chose to push them away for the time being.

As the soccer game was coming to an end, Nestor looked much happier.

I told him some of your infamous jokes, and he loved them.

His laugh sounded so genuine. So inviting and warm, despite the cold night that surrounded us.

There was something about him that felt different.

Like home. But different from back in Germany. Like another kind of home. A kind I never knew existed before.

Like he filled a void in me I didn't even know I had. A void I didn't know needed to be filled. (please don't do me dirty here)

When the soccer game was over, everyone gathered in the middle of the field again, including me and Nestor.

I met some of Nestor's friends. He had to translate, though, since his friends and I didn't fully understand each other. But it went well.

Then we saw a cat pass by.

It was apparently a cat that had been in the trenches. The other German soldiers had named it "Felix" because they thought it looked like me (the same green eyes and blonde hair). But those in the French army had named it Nestor because apparently he was the one who found the cat in their trench.

Neither I nor Nestor thought it had to be named after ourselves. Nor that it had to be such a big deal.

We were a little embarrassed by their quarrel, to be honest.

So in the end Nestor and I decided to name the cat Felix as it's first name, and Nestor as it's last name. I actually wanted Nestor's name before mine since it sounded much more proper than mine. But Nestor insisted, and I couldn't deny that.

Besides, he looked so pleased after we decided the order of the names.

And he smiled that smile that spread a warm, slightly tickling feeling in my stomach.

The Christmas celebrations eventually ended and everyone would go back to their trenches.

I could see large masses of soldiers disappearing in three different directions, heading back to their camp. I looked at the German camp, and then at the French. But couldn't find Nestor.

I was afraid that I wouldn't have the time to say goodbye before the war would begin again. But then I found him.

He was standing a few meters away, and I got that feeling in my stomach again.

There he was, his head looking in every direction in a matter of seconds. Almost as if he was lookinh for something.

I walked up to him before he could notice me, and gave his back a hug. He was taller than me so my arms were under his.

He made a surprised squeak as he turned around to stare at me.

At first he was a little confused, but it only tool a few seconds before he looked more comfortable and hugged back. He was so warm. A contrast to the winter air.

I told him how much he mean to me and how happy I am that I have met him. Despite the short time we spent together, it felt like we'd known each other our entire lives. And everything about him just felt…

Right.

He was quiet for a while. And I don't know if it was a trick from the night, or if his usually pale cheeks got a little color. But the red shade suited him. It complimented his features.

And then. He closed the distance between us, his lips on mine.

They were soft and gentle. It felt like he kissed me for an eternity, until the second it ended.

When he backed up a little, the red color had traveled all the way to his ears.

Almost as if he had been slapped hard across the face. Or as if his cheeks got so cold because of the temperature, and that that would be the reason for his cheeks to turn into this hue of dark red.

But it wasn't.

I knew that. Because his cheeks were warm.

He said he hopes we win the war and that he hopes I'll be fine when I get back home afterwards.

He hugged me one last time, extra tight. And that was when I realized how strong he actually was, though he was pretty skinny.

He almost crushed me. But it felt good in a way.

Like a proper "goodbye", unlike the one I got from my mother when I left. The look she gave me. The disgusted look. And at the same time a warning that if I screw this up, it's over for me.

He then hurried to his friends in the French camp, and I felt the warmth disappear with him as he left.

When I went back to the trenches that night, I couldn't stop thinking about him.

How he hugged me. Kissed me.

And how I would never get to experience that warmth again.

A week later, when the war was on again, I saw Nestor. But it wasn't the same warm and tickling feeling that I had experienced before, that now filled my body.

Now it was pure panic.

I made eye contact with him for a few seconds. But then he was shot by someone from the German army.

He looked into my eyes as he fell dead to the ground.

I couldn't help the tears that flooded my eyes, down my cheeks the second his eyes closed.

His soft cheeks against the hard, dirty ground.

I hid my head behind the path of the trenches and wept as I had never done before.

It hurts so bad.

And not like a wound that goes away after a while. Not like the wounds mother gave me every time she got ashamed of me.

This was something much deeper, and that hurt a thousand times more.

This was an indescribable pain.

The reason I'm now writing to you Elise is because I don't know if I'll live another month, another week, or even another day here.

You're the one who's been there for me the most during my time in Germany after father died. And the one who understands me.

I don't want to die without you knowing what happened. And I want you to be able to explain all of this to Lily one day if I don't come back.

I wish for you to say hello to Mother and Lily, and for you to tell them that I love them.

Okay, like I previously said Fallout version of Angelus is wild to me.

Btw TW for heavy subjects talked about here.

I like exploring different sides to them all in different AUs and Fallout is no different. Also, like I said in a post any info on them prior to 2023 when it comes to this AU is null and void. All that info is either eliminated or retconned.

Also I'm gonna try and better the tag system for better organization. Kinda got something in mind.

Anyway, I like writing and playing this version of Angelus 'cause it let's me explore a side to Angelus that the Oracle (Oracle is the original btw) version just doesn't have.

Oracle Angelus had a rough start. He suffered every type of abuse and my fucking gods do I mean EVERY TYPE OF ABUSE from as early as 1-year-old up to 13 or 14. Pretty much a little over a decade of nonstop physical, emotional and psychological torture. He did NOT get out of that unscathed. The trauma of it all still clings to him to this day. Had he been human he would've died like at 2, if he would've survived he would've been completely deformed and disfigured. But he's a werewolf so he somehow survived. Physically he has three scares from when his abusers tried to kill him. Two of the scars are from being shot in the chest and the third one is from being stabbed through the heart with a silver dagger. He actually scared which is basically impossible for a born werewolf but because his abusers never let him consume human hearts his immune system never developed. He even got fevers from infections. Anyway, it wasn't a good time for him and because of it a lot of mental problems arouse from it. He has C-PTSD, bipolar disorder, depression, severe anxiety, the abuse exacerbated his ADHD and also caused him to develop a severe eating disorder and it's not some cute and quirky "oh ha ha i'll just pick at this salad i gotta watch my weight ha ha." No, this man legit will starve himself as punishment because if he makes a mistake he thinks he deserves to be punished. He will actually layer on clothes so Jelani doesn't notice any weight loss but Jelani is always on top of that. They constantly check in on him and help him through it. He has some good days, some bad days and some catastrophic days but regardless he tries his best. He does have his moments of unfiltered confidence and times where he's shown he's very sure of himself and shown strength.

That's why I have this appreciation for the AUs because like for example the Fallout one he didn't have a messed up upbringing. Yeah, there's the whole being sold and the transphobic grandmother thing but it didn't affect him. He's cocky as hell, doesn't really take much of anything serious, in party mode almost 24/7, he's loud, explosive, confident, loves to eat, is extroverted, not insecure at all, no mental illnesses, rowdy, little bit selfish, morally gray and ambiguous, an absolute lil shit but with a good heart and more of a leader than a follower. Fallout Angelus is the extreme opposite of Oracle Angelus and it really puts Angelus as a whole into this perspective that I otherwise wouldn't have had a chance to explore this side of him if it weren't for this AU.

I was NOT kidding when I said Fallout Jelani kind of took the role of Oracle Angelus. He was very similar to Angelus but then he was assaulted (I know I put a tw warning but this is not a word I throw around so freely given that it's super charged. Not sure if anyone actually reads any OC posts aside from Arcade but still) and you know, it was a brutal and traumatic event and not even a month later he witnessed his father "die" which made shit far worse and this is post-apocalyptic America. Where in the blue fuck is he gonna find a therapist to work that trauma out? Fallout Jelani is pretty much Oracle Angelus.

And that was covering some aspects. In terms of sexuality he's still very much gay. I think that'll be the only aspect about him that'll never change. In Oracle he was born a male but he's actually intersex (both genitals and half a uterus, it sooooooorta works), on top of that he has a bit of a feminine body. He's very androgynous looking. In Fallout he was born a female and transitioned to male. In Oracle he's strictly a bottom HOWEVER, if Jelani (he's a switch and both subs and doms) asks he will absolutely top him because he feels 100,000% safe and secure with him. In Fallout he's 100% strictly a top while Jelani is 100% strictly a bottom. And he enjoys the fuck out of dominating Jelani.

Honestly this version of him is really fun. Oracle will always be Oracle but these AUs are so fun to explore different sides to all my characters.

Pride Month Character Sexuality Headcanon Moodboards 1. Yasmine - Lesbian 2. Demetri Alexopoulos - Gay 3. Moon - Bisexual 4. Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz - Bisexual

Part of a new series I'm doing for pride month where I make a pride flag moodboard for each cobra kai character (right now just the kids, but I might do the adults eventually) based on whatever sexuality I headcanon they are, and then I ramble about why I hc them the way I do!!! First up is Yas, because I'll be a lesbian Yasmine truther til the day I am gone from this earth and here's why:

Shows 0 interest in any and all potential male love interests prior to Season 3. Even Moon is a bit flirty with boys in Season 1 (First Rory at the pool party, then Hawk at the beach party). But Yasmine??? Pre-Demetri, she never seems romantically interested in boys.

On the subject of Demetri btw. It's actually very common for closet lesbian teens to choose a harmless-seeming guy to project all their romantic interest onto. (like!!! The sheer AMOUNT of notes this post has!!! This is not a rare thing!!!) This absolutely seems to be the case with Yasmine and Demetri in Season 4, since Yasmine is very suddenly into Demetri in this over-the-top, almost hammy way that feels very performative and disingenuous. Almost like she's trying to cover something up...?

For the vast majority of the show, but especially in S1, Yasmine noticeably seems to prefer the company of girls to the company of boys. In S1, her lunch table is all girls. The boys visit them sometimes, but they don't sit together. She also very rarely hangs out with boys outside of school. At big parties (like her birthday bash and the beginning of season pool party) there are boys around, but most of the time she's hanging with either Sam and Moon or just Moon. She's friends with Kyler, but the amount of time we see them actually hanging out is pretty minimal. He seems to be her only real guy friend.

On the topic of Kyler, though! The fact that Yasmine didn't ever get with Kyler after he and Sam broke up is actually very strange to me. Think about it: What better revenge against the two-faced ex-friend who was supposedly talking shit about you than to openly date her ex??? And considering how quickly Yasmine dropped Sam and took Kyler's side, I think she had to have thrown any "girl code" reservations to the wind. And Yasmine and Kyler were at the very top of the school food chain, so like. It's only going to help both their reputations for them to be a power couple. So why weren't they??? Considering how horny Kyler is constantly, I don't think he would have been against it at all. So that means Yasmine, who definitely had it in her power to date Kyler if she wanted, actively chose not to. Not even for clout or to keep up appearances. And given the look she had on her face when Demetri was hitting on her, she definitely wasn't holding out for him. So if Yasmine actively chose not to go out with the objectively best dating option she had available, it indicates to me that she doesn't really want to go out with boys at all.

Even in later seasons, Yasmine barely interacts with boys at all. In S3, we only ever see her talk to Demetri (who is ALSO a closet gay, hilariously). In S4 and S5, she interacts with Demetri's friends sometimes, but that's IT. This is in direct contrast with Moon, who we see flirting (or at least interacting) with a football player in S3 and who has such a wide social circle of both boys and girls that she's able to throw a MASSIVE house party in S5.

She doesn't even mention Demetri in S5! It's like she drops the act of being super "in love" with him as soon as he isn't physically there. The fact that her S4 "24/7 Demetri thirsting" self is a completely different character from her S1, S3, and S5 self further indicates that it's faked to draw attention away from where her attraction really is.

Canonically Demetri and Yasmine fight so much that Yasmine's arm is now completely weighed down with make-up bracelets (which she doesn't even have on when we see her, indicating she probably only wears them around Demetri). Them being that dysfunctional behind closed doors is a pretty stark contrast to what we saw in S4, and is just more evidence Yasmine's S4 behavior was a facade. Also begs the question, if they're truly just a Normal Straight Couple...why do they stay together when they clash that much??? One of the simplest explanations is that both of them just. Do not want to lose their beard. Yasmine especially, considering her decline in popularity left her with not as many dating options, and Demetri's one of the most harmless guys she could be fake-dating.

The "I know what it's like" cast-signing scene with Yasmine and Demetri is so queer-coded. Like think about it. Two people, both of whom have an unusually close attachment with their same-sex best friend, are bonding over how hard it is to be the subject of mass ridicule. Wedgies aside, what other type of ridicule would it be easy for these two to bond over??? And considering the dick-drawing-on-cast bit, Demetri's ridicule even had some implicit homophobia! So what does Yasmine do??? She writes "I, a girl, love your huge, masculine dick!" on his cast. Almost as a way of broadcasting to the world that they're both straight. When Yas says "much better" there's a kind of unspoken "we're both in the clear now." It's such a lovely gay friendship moment and Yas and Demetri have a very underrated platonic dynamic tbh.

Yasmine's raging crush on Moon is a whole essay in of itself, but the tl;dr of it is that Yas really did not have to forgive Moon or take her back after they fell out in S1. And yet not only does she rekindle her friendship with Moon in S3, but it also seems like part of the reason she changes for the better in S3 is because of Moon's influence! As far as we know, Moon was literally the only reason Yasmine ever made an effort to stop being awful. She also is basically never apart from Moon S4 onwards. Like every time Demetri and Yasmine have a scene, Moon is also there!!! Moon gets scenes without Yasmine (e.g. the cheerleading scene in 4x06, the tournament scene with Eli) but Yasmine almost never gets scenes without Moon and/or Sam. Sus.

Also Yasmine and Moon are so absurdly catty when Sam interrupts their weed-smoking date hangout in Season 1. And we're meant to believe they boot her out of the girl gang because she talked shit and was a slut (supposedly), but from how touchy they're getting at that concert...seems like they might have gotten tired of her third-wheeling?

Yasmine interrupts Moon and Hawk's S1 makeout sesh!!! She yells "Moon cmere!" and Moon leaves!!! Then she's still sulking in a jealous huff when Demetri goes over to hit on her later!!! Then she goes over to yell at Aisha when Moon and Hawk are right there being flirty, like. Girl is so gay and jelly it's out of control. She also tries to roast the shit out of Hawk in front of Moon. "Look!!! Look how much I'm the better option!!! Let's get out of here and away from any potential competition I may have!!!"

WAIT ALSO. The way Yasmine's ridicule was also a direct result of her trying to win Moon back??? And it all happened in front of Moon and (to her thinking) lowered Moon's opinion of her??? Adds a new layer to Yasmine saying "after the front wedgie thing, I know what it's like" to Demetri later!!!

Of COURSE she knows what it's like. She knows what it's like to fall for someone who decided they liked the Cobra Kai karate gang better than you, and not be able to get through to them in the moment it mattered the most. She knows what it's like to lose your best friend and get absolutely humiliated in the process.

In any case, it REALLY seems to be Moon and Hawk's interactions that send Yasmine over the edge during that party scene and get her the angriest. Interesting.

Generally speaking, the fact that Moon, who is canonically bisexual, is Yasmine's best friend is very telling. Any queer can tell you that queer kids always manage to find each other, even before they're out!!! Most queers who keep up with their high school and/or childhood friend groups will tell you that most of them are also LGBT. Yasmine's social circle consists of a canonically queer character and two heavily queer-coded characters (Demetri and Eli). Sam and Miguel are probably straight, BUT Miguel she only really hangs out with by proxy and Sam could be either the Token Straight (every queer friend group has one lmao) or a closet bisexual. Point being that with a largely queer friend circle, Yasmine's chances of being totally cishet are...not high tbh.

Just a random little detail and this is probably me wildin, but I find it funny that Moon laughs at Yasmine's little torturing Anthony joke in S5, but Sam didn't. My guess is that Sam is not amused because on some level (even if it's subconscious) she's worried Yas is serious, and is being a bit of a protective older sis. Moon though? She laughs at Yasmine's joke like the smitten simp she is because she knows the whole concept is too absurd to ever happen. BUT ALSO. It sounds a little like a knowing laugh. Like the mere concept of Yasmine being into guys or caring about them working out in the least is absurd. Maybe Moon knows Dem and Yas are faking a straight relationship to keep up appearances (if they confided it to anyone, it would be her!), and that's why she's not really bothered by Yas doing what would otherwise be the equivalent of stringing Moon's other friend along.

*Side note that I will make an exception to my Lesbian Yasmine truthing for Kyler Park and Kyler Park only. He's the only male character on the show she has even an iota of romantic chemistry with, and also the idea of her being "lesbian except for this one trashfire douchebag for some reason" is honestly too funny for me to resist XD Literally any other male character though??? I will start biting before I ship them with Yasmine, and them's the facts.

1. Are you named after anyone?

Sort of actually, haha. As a transman I chose my own name. I sort of named myself after King Richard from the TV series Galavant! (That everyone should watch btw because it is a criminally underrated comedy fantasy musical.) But there were definitely other people and characters that influenced my choice... As well as all the cool nicknames you can use when named Richard such as Dick, Rich, Ricky etc.. etc..

Also the name and nicknames comes with so much pun potential!

2. When was the last time you cried?

It was rather recently.. It was an rp moment that really got to me emotionally, touching me to tears. Though it would be even more recently if we count laughing so hard you cry. Either way I blame @nikyri-ninky for both!~ 😘

3. Do you have kids?

Does my cat count? Cause I call him my son, my baby boi, my sweet child.. If so yes. My fur baby named Major Flumph. I also have fictional children as well as a few friends who refer to me as their dad.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I would not say that I do, no. On occasion for sure. Especially if I am teasing my boyfriend. Though that is mostly payback for him doing it to me.

5. What sports do you play/have you played?

I played a bit of soccer, did gymnastics, and played a lot of floor ball (a sport that was invented in Sweden) as a kid. But sport rarely interests me these days.

6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people?

That is a damn good question that I struggle to answer. I genuinely do not know for I notice a good number of things but could not tell you what the first thing is even if I wanted to.

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Both. Both is good. If I had to choose however: happy endings. I love me some scary movies but I also struggle with anxiety and stress enough that happy endings are usually more healthy for my mental health in the long run.

8. Any special talents?

My coworkers, parents, partners and several friends would all kick my ass if I didn't mention drawing and painting. Also baking and gift giving (more specifically finding things for people that is based on their genuine interests).

it's been a minute since i gave a refresher on what the fuck these posts/this series is. not bc anyone was a dick lately, i just think it's good to insert handy entry points into a long-running series on occasion. i think this post where i read a whole bunch of pulp detective fiction is most representative of the series as a whole (and is one that came together in a very satisfying way/one of the entries i am happiest with)

what the fuck this is

this is an incentivized way to get me to listen to new music, read something, watch something, play something, and make something every week bc if i do a variety of enrichment i am noticeably better able to cope with uhhhhh Life. it's also a way to curb some of the perfectionism bc there is a hard fucking deadline every week.

what the fuck this is not

this is not a critical series, nor is this a recommendation series, although there are elements of critique and you may decide to consume some art based on my description of it. i cannot legally or physically stop you. this is more of a journal than anything else.

elements i have in the back of my mind when i draft these things on sunday afternoons include: what's the pitch for this thing/what is it? does it accomplish the artistic goal i think it's trying to make? a work can be beautiful, and i can recognize its value and be glad it exists in the world and also hate it, so do i personally like the way it does or does not accomplish its goals? how did i find out about this work? lastly is it sick as shit?

watching i watched the s/andman. i have a lot of thoughts about the s/andman. this is more me working through a lot of thoughts and feelings than actual thoughts about the show.

i don't have a lot of close friends who are straight dudes. i don't have a lot of close friends who started out as straight dudes either. the one straight dude i was actually close friends with in 2011 in high school introduced me to the works of neilman and started by gently bullying me into reading these. i had an exceptionally bad time in high school, through no fault of this man. we also don't talk much in the current day, again through no fault of this man.

my thoughts and feelings about s/andman the product are therefore wrapped up in who i was and things that were happening in my life when i read the comics. the first time i read them, it was through trial and duress and many interlibrary loans in 2011. i made my dad buy me the first two giant omnibi editions over two christmases and lugged them around throughout college when i was moving twice a year and living out of suitcases. not my photo

reading these comics, with their nineties #representation, felt very revolutionary and daring in the republican suburbs of central jersey. they definitely started me on the way to unlearning a whole bunch of shit. however, i do wish neilman had continued being at the forefront of more and more interesting and daring #representation. i think you can enjoy all the shows based on his work, acknowledge their source material was written decades ago, and be lightly annoyed with him (an extremely active and involved producer by all accounts) for not adapting them in a bolder way to these modern times.

a different but related thing: i really love the concepts of neilman's books but rarely their execution, even though i think he's a perfectly fine prose writer. i enjoy heavily referential and allusive works bc i feel really smart when i catch a reference. i like feeling smart and well-read, even though i personally find most of the references in the comics to be name-drops rather than like, putting the name-dropped thing in a very different context and imagining it in a different context to give it new meaning. to be fair this is a very difficult literary device for me, an amateur, to execute. idk

the actual show: the s/andman is excellently made, very competent television that knew when to deploy its cliffhangers. this feels like a backhanded compliment but i don't know how to phrase it different. i think neilman is a far better television writer than a prose one. i enjoyed watching it! it was fun to watch! the performances really carried a lot of lines that are very silly in print! i'm not going to remember very much of it by next week. i am particularly irritated by the current-day meta around the show (specifically the co/rinthian, bc i think ppl are reading in a lot of things that simply aren't fucking there), but at the same time i do not care enough to go looking for more meta. these transitions did whip tho
