Ed tries to open the Gate and get back to his own world with... mixed results. Read the update on AO3, fanfiction.net, or wattpad to find out what exactly that means.

It is so interesting to me that people are surprised by Roman showing kindness to Kerry, saying that he does not usually show empathy and that none of the siblings do. I just think that is sooo wrong. I'm a psych student and we learned about Empathy and what it consists out of. It consists out of two parts: Affective and Cognitive empathy. Affective empahy is feeling a parallel emotion to what someone else is feeling, cognitive empathy is the understanding of the emotion and how to cope and help the other person. Affective empathy is (often) intrinsic, while cognitive empathy is learned by observing and copying behaviour in your environment. I think it's clear that the roy siblings haven't had a lot of interactions involving comforting a person considering logan was their dad, so it makes sense that they don't know how to show it themselves!!

Thinking about him (the soldier in Poynter’s Faithful Until Death painting watching an apocalypse unfold around him with horror in his eyes as he tries to keep himself standing beneath a doorway, based on an actual 19th century archeological find of a man in full soldier’s garb under a doorway at Pompeii)

Sometimes when people on the Internet are like "ADULTS CAN NEVER INTERACT WITH MINORS IT'S CREEPY" I remember how, at 12, back in 1997, I was on the Witchvox forums with people ranging from me to people in at least their 50s, and no one there was ever a creep to me, no one ever made me feel uncomfortable or asked for my personal info, and when I finally broke down after a particularly brutal day of bullying at school and posted about it they were the first adults I'd ever met in my entire life who told me the bullies were the problem and it was okay to be angry about it.
Kids need to interact with adults who will listen to them.

I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.
Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.

idk man. i just think itd be really cool if sign language classes were mandatory throughout primary school. yeah because it would make communication with deaf kids and autistic/nonverbal kids much easier. and those kids would be accessible to the others so they could make friends and have healthy relationships. yeah. and kids would eat that shit up man. like their own little secret language? they love that.
