summer is right around the corner and im very into fashion so i wanted to talk about some pieces that im going to be looking for and collecting for the summer, color palettes, and everything in between.

i absolutely LOVE summer and fashion so i thought that this would be the perfect post to make. lots of summer content is coming up so i hope u all like it.

WEDGE SANDALS

these are absolutely adorable for the summer and i just think that they're so so cute. the vision with this is not to wear these at the beach, more so to wear it when ur running mini errands or to escalate ur summer look.

i think that these are definitely an acquired taste but if u get it then u get it yk? some wedge sandals that im wanting to buy are from juicy couture (for softer textures) and other more vintage brands for harder ones.

OPEN TOE HEELS OR WEDGES

personally i've seen lots of debate on open-toe heels and whether they're cute or not, and i've heard lots of different opinions about them but i LOVE them cuz i think that they're so so cute.

for summer specifically i love the ones that have straps (not on the leg part but more on the actual foot) but i just think its perfect for the summer and esp if u wanna show off ur pedicure.

COLOR PALETTES ;

CAMISOLES

camisoles r not only adorable for the spring but also for the summer. the key to these though is length and color. steer clear of colors that are on the darker side and go for colors that pop.

additionally, dont wear clothes that cover too much (unless u want to ofc) look for cute cuts and designs, ALSO shirts or clothing with cute slogans on them are a must for my style in general but also summer wardrobe essentials.

LONG FLOWY SKIRTS

long flowy skirts r absolutely gorgeous in any season i think but esp seasons like summer/spring. something thats rly been catching my eye for spring fashion in particular are skirt LAYERING and alternating between textures and lengths but that truly does depend on how well u can make something work yk?

but for the summer look for flowy skirts with a texture that isnt very thick or heavy bcuz summer gets hot. or if long skirts aren't ur thing then go for shorter lengths.

SLEEVLESS TOPS

sleeveless tops literally SCREAM summer, whether u like tank tops or tube tops, both r perfect for the summer.

SHORTS/SKORTS

shorts for the summer are absolutely perfect and so are skorts. i would've added mini skirts in this category but i've already covered them in the long and flowy skirts section.

(Cracks knuckles) Alright folks I remember how to draw

Fat fuck Vulpes by yours truly, Blaze Lander. Inspired by the lovely drawing by @yourmateyoya ,egged on by @legions-top-dog , and because i force you to deal with all my shitty drawings, @noomycatz

Yes, once again, i have put too much effort into a shitpost. Roughly 2 hours as I reused a canvas on ibis paint for a 5th drawing lmao

Process below hehe i like to ramble

And just because i like to talk about my drawing process for characters with complex outfits, this is how my lobotomy brain does it:

First i do silly fun colored sketch. I use different colors to differentiate the "skeleton" from the, euh, fleshy bits, and the clothing. You can see lots of lines that would not be shown in the final product so it makes it confusing to look at.

Next i do a clean sketch.

This is where i clean up everything before doing the final lines. I use one color and a thin brush to make it easier to line over. Here i add any extra bits (like the top football armour) and "render the physics" as i call it, so properly drape cloth and the uhhh squish of stupid fat fuck vulpes' boobs and stomach. I also will balance the drawing here by flipping it and redrawing or using the drag tool.

Next is lining.

For this drawing, i used a 9.0 digital pen with a taper. Its my standard :þ. I kept my pen at the same size for this piece. Sometimes i line the outside darker to make the drawing stand out more. I decided not to as i wanted to give the drawing a more "serious" tone. (How serious can this be though lol-)You may notice on the arms little bits of the lines are missing, thats because i gave him some arm hair. I like make little details like that show over the lines. But since the one shading technique i used works with clipping masks, i had to but the arm hairs on a layer lower than the line art. Next is colour:

I colour in the drawing with midtones. Simple as. I tried to stick with warm colours besides his eyes, which are grey blue. Idc if they arent, im too lazy to google it. I mostly use flat colors but i did make his shirt a gradient. Next is do simple cell shading:

Depending on how i feel i shade with or without the colours in the back. I went with a sorta "non decrepit" light source here. Didnt want too much intensity. I used a deep marronish orange on a multiply layer on 45% opacity. Soft shading/lighting next:

I get intense with the soft shading. I use the airbrush with a deep maroon to add dark gradient and airbrush with a light pink to add a bit more depth. I usually use less light and more dark because im evil i like the intensity. I keep the layer the same amount of opacity and multiply it with the darks and soft light for the lights. Next are the shine highlights:

I use the dip pen hard with a taper to add light highlights of white on shiny bits like metal and eyes. I uses pure white, set the layer to 25% opacity, and use normal blending.

I also shade the lines because it makes the lines softer. I use a clipping layer on the line art, set the whole thing to a dark grey, and airbrush in darker and lighter parts. (I felt like a picture wasnt needed cuz its hard to notice.

For the background, i used a dark red i stole from the cell shaded layer, drew a vine pattern with the kaleidoscope ruler, and added a vignette. Vignettes are my cheat code for background hehe~ it makes the subject stand out while keeping suave, seriousness and formality. To make a subject pop out more, put the vignette behind the character but in front of the background. For more intensity but it on top of both.

Also- I usually draw with a level 10 stabilizer (i got shaky hands) but i drew with a 2 stabilizer so im surprised it came out so smoothly-

Also i gave him goggle tan lines because if i have to have them from playing tennis with sunnies, so does he.

due to an intense school rivalry, she might want to keep your relationship a secret at first. eventually, she'll take you to meet the rest of her friends and they don't mind a bit when you tag along on their adventures! aia is a loud and somewhat chaotic person, so she would fit well into xsoliel too if you take her to meet the rest of the student counsel. they all love her so much too cuz she fits in so well!

REN ZOTTO ->

he generally wears a much darker color scheme so his uniform matches yours. of course, no one aside from you knows that. but either way, he absolutely loves spending time with you on the days you don't have school. if anyone were to see the alien prince with someone from the rival school, he'd just brush it off because he loves you regardless.

KYO KANEKO ->

okay so i got a whole scenario for this. imagine at a sports game and you and kyo are kissing under the bleachers and maririn catches you while looking for kyo. she's just flabbergasted and doesn't know what to say and kyo gets all defensive and tsundere about it. especially since you're wearing his jacket hehe. i wanna write a whole fic about thsi plz

ASTER ARCADIA ->

everyone knows right away, he spends no effort keeping it a secret. it's not like it matters much to him, cuz he never cared much about school rivalry or things of the like. the only problem is that your schedules conflict more often than not, so you only get to hang out some weekends or if you skip school to spend time with him. omg thats another idea skipping school with aster

MARIA MARIONETTE ->

she's like aster in that she doesn't care if it's a secret or not, she's just happy to be with you. as long as you're happy, she'll be happy. much like the rest, it makes her a little sad if you can't spend a lot of time together, so please take her with you to your student counsel meetings! she's so adorable you just have to say yes.

She is NOT! like drawing a night scene doesnt change the characters actual color palette unless you fuck up. a green alien in darker colors is still a green alien. even if that shade of green is actually blue its not cuz the background isnt white. thats how color relativity works and it doesnt change that the alien is green what am i missing hereee if you always use bright colors and make him lime green hes still a green alien!!! what!!! is it bc im not a native english speaker is colorpicking not just picking colors with the eyedropper tool is my life about to be changed forever

I finished the lines!

well, sort of, they will be touched up with darker colors when i actually put colors on them. but finally i dont have to worry about erasing pencil anymore XD

but i tried to touch this up a little this time cuz it was a bit fucked up from taking a picture instead of being scanned, its still fucky in places but thats alright since this is just a picture wip. i *hope* when i try to scan it that my scanner still works, honestly. oh, and i censored it again cuz apparently the line there looks too much like a vagoo which i guess it kinda looked like so i'm just essentially erasing it via editing cuz its too late to not add it in asdfasd--

anyway i hope you like the WIP! i probably won't post any tiny progress pictures anymore but bigger ones like this where i finished the lines lol (maybe i'll color block everything before the next update idk)

- i gave both pebs and moon belts that have colors from their overseers (also moon's has moon phases and peb's has . Well . Five Pebbles (lets imagine that from the back theres no more pattern its only the front)

- moon has water stains from rain . dunno if they look logical but they look COOL and thats all that matters

- sig's partial screen face was influenced by my lovey voidkat's nsh design .... because i think its super fun !!! Also he has a big stupid ribbon because the big stupid ribbon was cute and fun to draw and a unique take on that one hunter screen and i liked it

- suns is a rat cat thing thats all i have to say abt them . they do have the cheek stripe pattern too its just not visible from the top / front yknow . cons of being Rat Shaped . i was gunna give them a rat tail but considering i already kinda use the umbilical as a tail of sorts i decided against it

- sliver is . I dont have much to say abt her . she is diamond shaped i wanted to make her cloak look like the darker color was raining echo flakes but i couldnt be bothered to spend that much effort on her when i will likely not draw her much ever again

a very not cohesive list of grievences i have with natlan [and genshin], I'm writing as i go so if its too long the rest is under read more

I mean truth be told i opened youtube, saw the trailer first thing, noticed the thumbnail, and kinda just immediately knew it was joever

we can start w the archon i guess [I'm assuming the red haired lady is the archon by using context clues] uh ive seen people argue that its fine/makes sense that she's white since the assumption that's been made is that she's based on himeko from hi3 but uh like, himeko murata is japanese, she's not white, if the name didn't make that obvious [this is similarly why i don't like the argument that nahida being white is fine due to her being based on theresa hi3, theresa is a clone of a white german woman im not sure why mhy based the archon of a nation based on swana cultures on her but i digress] i think its at least good that she beat the conquistador allegations, left a bad taste in my mouth when that was being speculated

The confirmation of names means people have been honing in on the cultures natlan is taking inspiration from, ive seen a lot. i made my best guess when talking with a friend but i believe theres polynesian, west african, indigenous american [mexico and central america? specifically based on the name citlali] [[feel free to correct me on anything]] honestly wasn't expecting much based on sumeru

Tbh i have like zero energy to hate on the natlan debut cast cuz i already did it w a friend but I'll do it anyways, its a lifestyle

the argument of, why look for dark skin rep in a game made by a company who's colorist [either by choice or due to pressure from the government since genshin has incredibly insane cultural impact in China], is legit since its like me looking for clothes at the soup store and getting upset

But genuinely even if mhy had a vision with genshin and wanted to show a diverse world in its game, its kinda weak to be almost so blatantly colorist outside their playable characters. I don't think that making npcs dark skinned and playable characters light skinned is a good look, especially when it's the second time that that the human enemies of the region for the most part are darker skinned than the characters used to fight them

And i don't like how parts of the community jumps on people who critique genshin for this. Like, if its a non issue to you why get upset with people yk. Plus never speaking up on stuff is bad like fine, the multi billion dollar company won't listen to you, but id like to think that other people would learn from this to some degree and understand why people get upset. And idk maybe its overstepping and silly but id like to thing that outrage reaches people who can see that yea maybe there's people who Will listen to the stories you wanna tell but idk

I just don't like that people are making it okay to just be racist and colorist like, that's just gonna eventually bounce back and then great everyones seeing how mad ur getting over someone wanting a character w a skin tone darker than #FFFFFF, i cant vocalize my thoughts right tho but you get me ig

aeugh anyways on the characters specifically, the darkest skinned character in the trailer looks almost gray thats not great, and then the girls w darker skin tones [there's so few men in genshin lately] are dressed very much not at all which is a reoccurrence, sumeru dressed its darker skinned characters in not a lot clothing which like if you've ever been to a country that's hot and sunny, people don't dress in swimwear they dress in pants and sleeved shirts because hi sun damage exists and too much exposure is unhealthy and people tend to get used to the climate

Also a lot of animal themed characters this time, do correct me if I'm wrong but i kinda see an overuse in the women of color in genshin being animal themed but if im looking too much into it then uh idk maybe genshin should release a catboy

The modern theming in the outfits isn't egregious but i think too much streetwear might bog down the overall look, like latin america cultures just by themselves have amazing fashion and god id kill to see something like a dancer based on mexico's traditional dances since those are the prettiest dresses, like modernizing is fine [i believe i saw somewhere that chongyun's outfit is based on chinese streetwear and i think it fits great in with the more traditional outfits in liyue] but stuff like the hoodies around the waist and the weird half shorts half pants of one of the characters kinda weakens the overall vision [but I'm not well versed in fashion so I'm not sure what direction wouldve been best for natlan to take to both respect the fashion of the cultures inspo is taken from and also fit in with genshins vibes overall]

Natlan the region itself is the best thing of the trailer tbh, it's very nice looking and yea there isn't a yellow orange filter over it like this were american tv or something, and the music is great i think the one part of the team who does good is the music

Personal expectations, i just hope the characters are good, like i hope good personality saves these guys and my soul while i play the natlan quest getting flashbanged everywhere i look

ive given up on doing lineart a few months ago and now i just sketch whatever, then rescale it to my liking. i use a default pixel brush in krita so rescaling makes the sketch all pixely and ugly but it doesnt matter bcuz then i just erase and add to it until its shaped. its kinda like sculpting

now even tho everyone always tells me my colors r the most unique part abt my art there is actually nothing special to them at all! i just pick everything by eye as long as its bright. looool

and yeah i mostly dont pay too much attention to what colors i pick cuz the filters save everything in the end. epsecially saturation cuz making all the colors kinda the same level of saturation makes them fit together and everthing looks nice and it causes u the eyestrain u so desire (i have no idea what im saying right now im sorry if this isnt helpful at all) theres also luminosity which i LOVE and i would put it at 100% on everything if it didnt make u feel like u have no idea what ur looking at. but uh, yeah, it kinda makes it look like u put my art on eye-saver mode and the darker colors dont look so strong

This is probably an unpopular opinion but... im gonna say it anyway.

I don't think zombie media works...long form? Like zombie shows. Smaller shows yes. That's fine. A few seasons.

But like... 10 seasons? Plus some time skips like i know shows do. That doesn't work for me with zombies involved.

Cuz like, listen, zombies decompose. That's their whole thing. And as far as i know, them eating brains and flesh doesn't replenish them. They aren't fucking vampires, they're undead bodies.

So years and years pass in these shows and there's still fucking giant groups of zombies wandering around. That's not... no. It doesn't work!!! Like, yes there would be huge fucking hoards from the first wave zombies, from so many deaths. But after that? A few years down the line? All those zombies would be out of commission.

You wouldn't walk into a city like 15 years later to hoards of zombies still. It'd just be a fucking city full of bones! Maybe one or two of those little undead bitches wobbling around. But all those zombies from the first wave of virus would. Not. Still. Be walking around!!!!! Once the skin and muscle melts off them they cease to be!!! Thats just bones baby!!!

I just want... i want a long run zombie show that gets lighter. And more colorful as the show goes. Not darker and more grey. STOP IT WITH THE GREY FILTERS!!! THE HUMANS ARE GONE, NATURE WILL BE TAKING THINGS BACK!

Like, season one, that can be grey. It can be dark. And scary. And gross. You're runnin from shit that's trying to eat you. I get it. Not a fun time.

But by season 5 or 6? The world is green again. The cities are covered in vines and small trees blooming up through the pavement. Most of the zombies are melting in a ditch over there. Effectively becoming fertilizer. Probably not the best fertilizer, but nature finds a way an' all.

Just... a 10 or 15 season long zombie show would not be FULL of fucking zombies still. The hoards of zombies would die off, and there simply aren't enough fucking new bodies to replenish the zombie ranks okay??? You'd end up with like ... a few zombies here and there wandering through beautiful forests and greenery and it's what we deserve!!!

I have the term sour patch punk floating around in my head

its not a real thing, not yet, but i cant find any type of punk that makes sense for me.

i identify with punk, but i also am more on scemo side of things too. but i also like pop punk. but also pastel punk, but not quite. and cripplepunk of course too. but none of these really describe my experience with punk stuff, bc im just a sweet lil guy, but also can be sour when needed.

hence, sour patch punk! cuz sour patch kids are sour and sweet, and thats me, i think!

i guess its recognizing the fucked up in the world, the shit that needs to change, the political shit going on, etc, but also recognizing the good things too like little flowers and love for each other and humanity working together to help each other, that kinda stuff.

i know thats just Basic Punk Shit but like, punk feels a lot darker to me than what i relate to. im colorful, bright, but could stab you if you fucked with me, ya know?

Hiii!!! I'm kinda genuinely not sure if this meant like? Anything specific? But I'm sure you meant like, the lineart and colors? So!

If you have ibisPaint, I can just straight up give you the brush! I DIDNT MAKE THIS, I'm not sure who did cuz I got it off of Pintrest..

And I know this is gonna sound a bit anticlimactic but I'm not really sure how to describe my process? I just...draw! Sorry,,

But! The colors! I colored in ABA with her original colors, then did the shading on the face and hair with a Multiply layer! Thats my go-to shading technique lol. I then adjusted the colors using the Hue, Saturation, Lightness tool until I wanted the pallet/feeling I wanted, which in that case was like...rust? If you understand? I wanted it to feel YUCKY!!!!

Then! For that drawing, I colored the lineart with a darker shade of the color! Make sure to NOT color on the outside if you want to make it look more neat!

As you can kind of see, the hair is the only exception to this, as I wanted it to be a mostly seamless transition!
