i don’t know if this is something Jojo is doing on purpose, or if it was an intentional detail but i grabbed and ran away with it, or if I’ve just completely read far to into things and entered the realm of just making shit up, but Warriors and his little crooked smile are so GODDAMN important to me and I am shaking him like a squeak toy (gently)
(big yap/analysis under the cut)
disclaimer, i just have a lot of thoughts, probably way too many thoughts, and 97% of them are about Wars so I might be insane, and what you’re about to read provided you’ve stuck around so far might be the equivalent of your high school english teacher yelling with tears in their eyes about how the curtains were blue to “symbolize her sadness”. also my apologies for weird spelling mistakes or oddly misspelled words, i am dyslexic 💔 but with that being said:
Warriors to me comes off as someone who’s constantly acting larger than life. He masks a LOT in front of the chain, he acts overdramatic and a bit ridiculous on purpose, and to an extent he just is a bit ridiculous, but his reactions to things are sometimes blow way out of proportion or are just larger than life in a comedic way where it just seems like he’s doing it intentionally. He comes across as a very extroverted, talkative person, and he seems like he’d honestly be a bit loud too (whether that’s who is REALLY is or what he’s REALLY like is a yap for another post). His (physical) image and the way his character/personality is perceived by others both seem like things that are not his CORE values or the things that mean the most to him, but they do seem to be at least a LITTLE bit important to him just based on how he presents himself and the way he acts. And to an extent, the whole thing with him caring so much about his looks is canon in LU, with that one sketch of him and Legend where he’s looking at his eye in a reflection of a shield and Legend says “alright break it up you two” being the first thing that comes to mind (which is in the post “Mirror Shield”, click the name for the link)
To me, from what I’ve seen and from my perspective, there are very few times we see an actual genuine smile from Warriors, and when we do it tends to be in moments where he’s not in the spotlight, he’s not trying to command the center of attention, and/or the focus is NOT on him. It tends to be moments where he just seems genuinely happy or at peace, and those seem pretty rare. He smiles a LOT, but the majority of his smiles seem big and flashy and performative, and not that that means he’s not happy AT ALL in any of those moments, but those smiles seem a lot more controlled and closely managed because he’s aware of the attention on him and therefore thinking about how he’s perceived. (I’ve made some posts in the past and I’ll probably make others in the future about how I think Warriors puts on this “Captain” or “Hero of Hyrule” persona because of how an entire war was started because a sorceress found him beautiful, and how he feels like him being just him isn’t really good enough for that and how he feels like he needs to fit in and look/act/seem like the legendary heroes he’s being compared to. He’s created this idea of what he COULD be and that’s what he presents to others, fake it till you make it and all that, but thats another yap for another day)
However there are these little moments where we see him smile, and the same one side of his mouth is pretty consistently always just a little bit higher no matter which way his head is facing (here’s a few examples):
Tumblr media
@/linkeduniverse, from the 2023 monthly art, “January- Cold Sunrise”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@/linkeduniverse, both from “Dawn pt. 2”
And the thing that really started this whole headcanon of mine that his REAL smile is crooked was this specific part of Dawn pt. 2 where Warriors sees that Twilight is gonna be find for the first time after most likely worrying about him and being up all night:
Tumblr media
That middle panel, to me at least, is probably the most genuine expression of a positive emotion we’ve seen from him this entire time. No one’s focus is on him, no one’s really looking at him, he doesn’t have the pressure of being the center of attention on him, and honestly even if that WERE the case, the genuine relief that hit him once he was Twilight was gonna be okay probably would’ve been enough to get a genuine smile out of him anyways. But the second he walks into the room officially, he kinda, for lack of a better way to put it, announces his presence and starts “acting” again (also from Dawn pt 2):
Tumblr media
And while that same one side of his mouth does seem a bit higher and not very straight, it’s definitely more even than it was just five seconds previously
Now, acknowledging there is an art style, and that I also just might be insane, but Warriors’s smiles for the most part (when they seem controlled) appear to be a Lot straighter and more even to me than when it’s a more genuine moment and he doesn’t seem like he’s “acting” so much (and just a note: it certainly isn’t EVERY time, but in general, in moments like these his smile seems consistently straighter unless he’s just flat out smirking. and im not saying it’s PERFECTLY straight either, just noticeably more even). When he’s being more dramatic or intentionally obnoxious or the attention is on him, it really does feel like his smile is more controlled: here are just a few examples, obviously this isn’t every single time he’s smiled in all of LU
Tumblr media
@/linkeduniverse, from “Swords”
Tumblr media
@/linkeduniverse, from “Shady Escape pt 2”
Tumblr media
@/linkeduniverse, from “Divine Dark Reflections pt. 8”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@/linkeduniverse, both from “Magic Sword”
am i looking too far into a little thing? probably. am i insane? yeah. but i just really love the idea that when Warriors is truly, genuinely happy, the part of himself that he tries to hide, the sweet and caring person he hides underneath all the dramatics, that true self he’s probably kept hidden away since the start of the war who’s been buried under insecurity and hidden because of the fear that who he is just isnt ENOUGH peaks through, and that person comes out through his happiness in the form of his smile. and yeah it does probably mean nothing and Jojo might not have done any of this on purpose, but i’m crazy, and Warriors’s crooked little smile is so so important to me *insert image of a guy crying face down on the floor because unfortunately i’ve hit the image limit*

So with Fae!Dick, we all know that Bruce is just… not gonna say anything bc of his own mental health, but do you think the other batkids notice anything once they come along?
On one hand, I think someone would have to notice. If not Jason, then Tim, Steph, Barbara, or Damian bc, well, they’re BATS. They literally have been trained to notice things.
On the other hand, though, I think it would be HILARIOUS if they just attributed Dick’s Fae nature to him just being weird. Like, completely unaware he isn’t human. Maybe not entirely realistic but I think it leaves for some interesting comedic moments 😅
Honestly at one point I think it all devolves into plausible deniability. 😭😂
Jason is the first to notice something amiss, obviously. But he joins Bruce in pretending it‘s just Dick‘s general weirdness. After all, as long as the dog just howls once in a while it’s not necessarily a wolf, right? And Dick, after the initial hang up and trying to kill him a little, is sweet as a summer‘s day to him and viciously protective to boot. Galas and all the rich people there that used to treat Jason like a circus animal aren’t a problem anymore because Dick always swoops in like a bat out of hell and distracts the creepy old ladies with a charming smile until they walk away with vacant eyes. It‘s all pretty funny. And very weird. But hey, Jason gets a laugh out of it and that secretive little grin from Dick so whatever.
Tim I headcanon has Dick all figured out within a month of officially meeting him (the opposite of this would be Tim never figuring it out which is also kinda funny and just attributing it to his circus past or something) and is veeery cautious about interacting with Dick for a time. It makes Dick kind of sad and Tim can only withstand the puppy eyes so long until he caves.
Steph just kinda shrugs and accepts Dick‘s strangeness at face value. It ain’t hurting her so why should she bother? Dick is cool. She likes Dick. End of story, thank you and good day. And yeah, fine, some of his habits are downright weird and everything but who is she to judge? And he‘s always down to cause mischief with her which is?? Super cool???? Even the more devious pranks she can bribe him into joining by handing him a jar of fresh honey or hand picked fruit!! Anybody trying to say shit about Dick lands them on her hit list, period.
Cass is Cass. Nobody can fool her. She may not know what Dick is, but she‘s painfully aware he‘s other. Most wildlife treats him like bees would their queen, there‘s always the scent of pines and rain following him. Dick‘s body language says ‘playful-content-happy’ but his eyes say ‘dark-dangerous-predator’. It’s all very conflicting; a study of contradictions. Cass learns to go by what his body language says and quickly finds a kindred spirit in Dick, who somehow always seems to know exactly what she tries to express but has trouble translating into words.
I headcanon Damian grew up with folklore so while his first theory may not be “fae” he definitely has Dick down as something other than human. Which means he must be powerful. Which means Damian must keep himself in Dick’s good graces in the hopes of making the creature teach him how to be powerful in turn. And, well, the kid grew up with a grandad that regularly takes dips in a magical swimming pool. I don’t think there’s much that can genuinely shock him lol.
Duke is… well, he’s the sensible one so of course he’s the first one to actually ask questions. And then proceeds to go nearly insane because??? Nobody seems to?? Care???? That Dick just rotated his head a full 360°???? Or that the manor sure af isn’t supposed to??? Randomly add hallways???? Or that there’s a whole ass SWAMP that appeared in the basement overnight???? Or a door that leads straight into the forest?????? Duke very nearly nopes the hell out because that’s too much even for him. But finally, finally someone takes pity on him (I headcanon it’s Cass) and she doesn’t explain anything per se, she just kind of… shows Duke. Shows him around the manor, introduces him to twisting halls and strange rooms, takes him to where Dick is lounging with the rest of the family, purring like a content cat. And Duke still doesn’t understand, not completely, but Dick smiles at him with too many, too sharp teeth and tugs him into the huge cuddle pile and?? Are those feathers on his neck?? No, he must have imagined it. Anyway, Duke thinks he can handle this… strangeness, if it scores him a family like this. It’s Gotham, right? Weirder things happen here on the daily.
Omg this turned into a whole ass essay I’m so sorry 😰😅😭✨

# PLATONIC . LMK HCS ! ── .✦
• — TW : Slight swearing,mentions of death, mentions of trauma !
• — ⚠️ : Spoilers for Lego Monkie Kid !
This is part one of PLATONIC LMK HCS!
Tumblr media
~ MK જ⁀➴ !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MK uses he/they pronouns !
We all love our bundle of sunshine that brights up our days just by having them running around with their strange yet sweet shenanigans
This sunshine in particular loves hanging around with his friends and do cool stuff with them! Including you, of course!
MK adores his times being spent with you! Via video games, playing in the arcade-
“Cmon cmon…get in the- NOOO!!” MK can only yell in distress, frustration and disappointment as the stuffed monkey toy falls off out of the borders of the claw machine. They can only watch in defeat with a sad shocked face, holding the two control sticks tightly.
you tried to comfort him, giving a reassuring pat on his back “MK it’s fine! We can try this again next time, you did your best! Plus the machine is a scam anyway-“
“No…” he says dramatically with shadow over their eyes (dramatically)
“… Huh??”
“NO! I’m going to get you this MONKEY PLUSHIE! EVEN IF IT COSTS HALF OF MY SAVINGS!”
“MK PLEASE, YOU’VE DONE THIS 50 TIMES ALREADY-“
-watching monkey court and acting like unlicensed lawyers, making friendship bracelets, pranking Pigsy with Mei, listening to Tang’s amazing story telling of The Journey To The West (which is mostly scenes of Wukong giving everyone a series of ass-whooping)
Fun times with your brother Friend!
You sometimes go ship noodles to customers with him! You always make the journey less boring and you guys just love talking or listening to eachother!
You also share eachother’s playlist on the ride, screaming the lyrics while vibin to it even if everyone is looking at them weird, they’re just jealous they can’t join in :]
(Which is why you can’t go with him most of the time, he’d always ended up lost, distracted or late to the customer lmao)
Definitely lends his jackets to you whenever you ask! He thinks it’s adorable and funny at the same time!
If you steal them, you’re gonna have a fun sibling wrestle and race, it’s all fun
MK loves out-door activities (well duh), partying, sports, everything! He’s down for any activity if it seems fun to do so!
Yes they can get VERY competitive and yes a harmless football match turned into a whole championship
You’re a special friend of him, of course you’re gonna have a discount at Pigsy’s!
Nah I’m just kidding, he’s gonna treat you for some noodles though, so it’s all good!
MK has a hard time focusing on things and he would most likely forget dates like birthdays
So he puts every single of his friends birthdays in the notes app, including you :]]
You two also have matching friendship bracelets!!! With Mei and Redson too!
Listen Redson Never wanted to wear it in the first place but ends up giving in to the two idiots bcs their constant idiocy
MK tries to make them at first but got distracted so you and Mei made them instead
The bracelets are coloured each with everyone’s signature colours! MK’s Orange, Mei’s green, Redson is well.. Red and yours is your fav colour!
One time he lost the bracelet and PANICKED, he went EVERYWHERE to find for it bcs he values you and his friendship a lot and the precious bracelet means so much to him!!
He went to the flower fruit mountain and asked Wukong abt it, went to Mei (and asked her to help him on his mission),
went to ask Pigsy and Tang, went to Sandy (and Mo)
went to Bai He and Macaque (more like paying them a visit), HECK he even used his golden vision, he still couldn’t find it!!!
He finally went to you and (comedically) cried and apologizes, dude is on his knees asking for forgiveness
You reassure him that everything’s fine and you could’ve just made him another bracelet
Then when he got up, Pigsy called him for the delivery and he reached to his pockets, THEN it turns out, the bracelet has been in their pocket this WHOLE time!
You two laughed it off and gave a friendly side hug with eachother as you go to Pigsy’s!
Another thing MK likes to do with you is doodling!
It’s actually one of his favorite activities with you to be frank
A personal hc of mine for him is that he is an age regresser, which means he acts younger than he actually is! Its a coping mechanism for him
he rlly needed some sort of activity to deal with the stress, trauma he held deeply inside
Age regressing helps to distract himself away from those negative thoughts, finally allowing him to relax, sit or lay down and just doodle
He likes to doodle him and his friends doing regular strange shenanigans!
It’s mostly goofy but cute looking drawings that he did while age regressing
MK would be more quiet while age regressing but he doesn’t really mind small talks here and there!
Besides doodling, he likes to just settle down and watch his favorite childhood shows! They’re all Journey To The West related but it’s still pretty great either way
MK also has his own monkey stuffed toy that Pigsy gave him when he was a little kid, he lets you hug it of course, you’re his sibling friend! If you also have your own stuffed toy and you let them hold it, he’s gonna hold it FOR LIFE no Bo
He also likes stickers and puts them on his drawings and furnitures! Sometimes you’d put them on his face, it’s pretty cute :3
And ofc he’s gonna put it on you too so you both would have matching stickers! Even if it is too much but who cares? STICKERS
If you let him, he’d also doodle on your hands, drawing little monkeys and shapes!
Sad zone down here!
And of course monkey man is a hero but not without personal issues. After so many things happening at once, he needs someone to hug and cry on for a long long time
The burdens he has to carry on his shoulders, the city, his friends, his destiny, his fate, his mistakes, his regrets, he really REALLY needs to have a long lasting vacation with his fav sibling, friends and family. Away from any problems
MK also has low self esteem that he needs to fix, of course it’ll take quite some time but he’s trying his best!
He’s deathly afraid of losing the people he care for, so on some days he can be a little clingy or stressed. Comfort and reassure him that you’ll never leave him then hug him please, he needs that sm :’{
Sometimes he wouldn’t get any sleep because whenever he closes his eyes, he’d always see nightmares of The Lady Bone Demon, or other bad memories that’s stuck in his mind forever. Pigsy’s noodles and your presence with him help him sleep easier :]
The moment he almost experienced death and Wukong caught them in his arms, you’ve never felt so relief in your entire LIFE, you ran as fast as you can to hug him so so tight with the others. Happy tears streaming down your face while you nuzzle on his shoulder, he remembers your face while embracing back, it’s a core memory to him
Noodles are their favorite comfort food, especially if it’s made by his dad! Sad day? Noodles! Tired? Even more noodles!
I mean MK would eat anything but noodles are a huge part of his childhood and life, it helps him to sleep at night and helps him to not have an extensional crisis :[
Sad zone end!
He is protective of you against harms way and genuinely wants you to always be safe, if someone or something is harming you, a demon threatening you, etc.. he’s always there to protect you and be by your side no matter what!
If you watch him train with Wukong, he’s going to try and impress you via doing cool tricks mid-battle! Which totally didn’t backfire and make a fool outta himself in front of you
But it’s bcs he wanted to be admired and praised by you! Tell them that they’re cool and his life shall be yours/J
He’s trained for months and had battled endless amount of demons and enemies that come for him everyday, the MONKEY KING is his mentor and has chosen MK to be his successor
He’s not afraid of a little harmless spider!
He’s TERRIFIED
That’s why if you don’t seem to have any fear towards those little crawlies and managed to successfully get them out of his room or sight, he’s going to cling to you and thank you liek you just saved his life-
Not that he’s dramatic or anything, no no, not that he was going to destroy his place over a silly creature or anything! that’d be too reckless and stupid of him! How come he could’ve done this to him and his dads work place that is also a home??
(Which is why you gifted him a night light so he wouldn’t get too paranoid of spiders falling into his mouth and living inside him)
It’s not Meis fault he thinks it’s actually real-
Overall, MK sees you as a sibling and adores you WHOLE lot! He enjoys being around you and finds your presence comforting to be around. Whenever you’re in danger, he’d be the first one to show up!

My issue with TUA s4 is that I don't mind the concept of it all. Jennifer and Ben being intertwined and somehow destined to bring the cleanse or die to avoid that.
I feel like there was some potential there to be explored and I enjoyed certain aspects if I look at it in isolation.
But maybe it's because they didn't feel like they had enough time to develop any idea so they did nothing for most of those 6 episodes.
Separating the characters in groups/duos/alone before reuniting at the end is the usual formula. But they did nothing of value for the whole time ?
I enjoyed what I enjoyed bc I like the cast and the vibe of the show, even when they have clearly no idea on what they wanted to do.
It was mediocre when it wasn't bad just because the actors are good at their job.
Now the Lila and Five thing. I can understand from a human standpoint that spending seven years alone with someone you care for and you connect with bc of your very similar life experience and past can push you to find comfort in each other and blurring the lines.
Was it completely unnecessary? It was. Especially with how they treated Diego's character this season honestly.
If they really had wanted it to happen they should not have leaned into the romanticism like I really do not think that they would actually fall for each other. Finding comfort in the only other person who is also someone you know is one thing but actually falling for them? That's something that really doesn't make sense to me for those characters.
Well either way it was unnecessary and could have easily never have happened because it legit did not add anything to a season where nothing happened and that's saying much.
Side note is that I hate how they turned Luther's body dysmorphia into a joke. I didn't even like Luther in s1 but they leaned so heavily into making him the comedic relief for the wrong reasons and I hate that. They did it a lot with Diego too this season and Klaus ofc.
I swear the characters were either used as laughing stock because of their trauma or not doing much? And then they just disappeared from existence. It made the ending not hit all from even though in another circumstance I would have been bawling at seeing them gone.
Viktor and Allison got the best end of the deal by at least having Reginald and Claire as their counterparts to talk to and explore a bit of their relationships.
It's sad to see a show that I have loved since its first season go down like this honestly. I wish we had the chance of a better farewell. The cast also deserved better storylines and a better goodbye to something that was a big a part of their life for years.

Reading TLH again #2
Okay, I finished the second Jason chapter and I have more thoughts.
Let's go by chronological order. But before anything I want to share this lil Jason & Leo moment:
Tumblr media
When I say they have cute moments like this throughout the whole book, I mean it. Very small snippets but it gives such a good relationship foundation for them. I love Jason and Leo friendship 😊
Now, let's dive into it:
Interesting observation #1: Coach Hedge's a fascinating character even tho he is treated like a joke
I find Coach a very good new character. At this point in the book he seems pretty unidimensional at surface but he has more to him than meets the eye.
For example: Coach is a unusual satyr.
His species are known to be strictly pacifiers and nature lovers, and even if we are not new to the concept of brave satyrs, Coach is a different kind of brave than Grover is.
He is much more bold and his presence is definitely louder. He is also bound to violence, which is a uncommon fact on itself
Tumblr media
He is also very protective towards this trio, especially Leo and Piper (the ones he knows from before), but his protection extends to Jason too sometimes.
Leo and Piper are, unquestionably, his favorites tho. Including all the seven 🤭
Also, everyone forgot (I think Rick forgot too) about the magical bat Coach had in the beginning, it changed forms
Tumblr media
More magical bat: it chases targets
Tumblr media
Coach Hedge is supposed to be retired. I guess this is not actual important info, but I think about this taunt as a way of informing the readers he didn't actually want to retire, and we don't know why they dismissed him.
Tumblr media
I just love Coach. I really like his character, he is a refreshing air and I think Rick made the right choice in putting him as the chaperone of the Seven. He is a comedic, action bound and brave character that deserves more love!
Interesting observation #2: Gaia treats Jason as a special case from the very beginning
Tumblr media
I remember she has this annoying habit of having favorites, as in favorites to become her "sacrifice". If I remember correctly, her faves are: Jason, Percy and Annabeth. We can see her playing with Jason's value for her plan from this very chapter, already treating him like a "reward"
Interesting observation #3: Piper surprises everyone with her courage
In this chapter, Piper demonstrates her bravery during the confront with the venti. She has surprising good scenes, and even if she isn't very helpful in terms of combat, she thinks quickly and is very agile.
Most important fact is that, even if she doesn't understand what is happening, she doesn't seems afraid. The girl can act under pressure, we have to give her that.
In this scene, she takes command and tries her best to be supportive to the other students, acting like a in-control guide in the middle of a hurricane.
Tumblr media
Than we have her acting as a sidekick to Jason during an actual fight. She is determined to help him defeat these strange creatures she doesn't even know.
Tumblr media
Bonus observation of Jason being attracted to her violent tendencies lol
Finally, she tackles a monster to protect Jason. Head-on TACKLES it.
Tumblr media
Piper have guts in this chapter. I like it. She is much more reckless than Leo and Jason, very "act first, think later" style.
Interesting observation #4: Jason's inhuman durability
Jason gets caught in some lightning from the Venti, who states is powerful enough to vaporize "twenty men"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He shows a super high durability during this hit.
Even tho I would like to observe that he can get hurt by lightning! It doesn't have the healing effects water has on Percy. Just an observation. I have a theory, but that is for a later post.
Interesting observation #5: Jason has aura
One thing I observed during this whole affair at the Grand Canyon is that the enemies (in this case, the Venti things) are a little wary of battling against Jason. It gets explicit in 2 (+1/2?) occasions:
Aura Moment #1: The subordinates Venti are not happy to fight him after seeing what he can do and survive
Tumblr media
Aura Moment #2.5: When he slashes them, they don't reform right away. Jason's aura is that powerful or was it consequence of his super classy Imperial Gold blade?
Tumblr media
Aura Moment #2: Finally, even their leader, Dylan, gets afraid of Jason after a while
Tumblr media
Boy has that energy oozing off of him. Badass aura points +
Interesting observation #6: Even if he has good intuition, Jason is reluctant to save Piper when she slips from the platform.
COACH has to tell him to save her TWICE before he moves. I also find this funny lol.
Tumblr media
When she falls, his first action is to not dive after her. In his defense a normal person wouldn't too, especially for a girl they don't actually know. Coach has to tell him what to do, but he still does nothing.
Tumblr media
Coach tells him to save her, AGAIN.
AND he still hesitates for a few seconds before letting his guts do the job.
Tumblr media
In this scene we can clearly see how Jason narrative has an air of the Logic vs. Instincts theme.
I would like to point out that this is, again, another of these moments where Piper and Jason aren't really clicking. His hesitance has to do with his way of thinking but also with the fact he doesn't know her.
Interesting observation #7: Jason is a VERY selfless character
We already defined he doesn't know anyone here, so logic dictates Jason doesn't own these people anything.
BUT
My boy was READY to DIE with Piper at the Grand Canyon! And he wasn't even phased by his imminent death.
Tumblr media
Pause for an observation: Jason isn't afraid of heights. If Thalia was here and not him, Piper would be history by now.
Tumblr media
Boy was prepared to die with Piper here. Impressive. Also, very nonchalant about the fact they were dying.
Following chronologically, right after these scenes we have the very first ACTUAL cute scene of Jason/Piper:
Tumblr media
Nothing to say here. It wasn't very detailed, didn't made me feel anything at all. We just know Piper's heartbeat went crazy but we don't really know if is because of Jason or because she was free falling the Grand Canyon. I am assuming it was cause she was dying, but maybe that is just me lol.
Interesting observation #8: his powers are similar to Percy's in the beginning, more like the element attending their wishes than actual control
It makes me wonder the actual laws of their abilities, if the elements of their heritage bends to their command forcibly because it doesn't have a choice like it happens to the gods or if the elements of their domain just bends to their will because it listens to their wishes and decides to comply, like Jason describes here, with words like "wished" and "imagined".
Tumblr media
Jason doesn't actually fly like superman would, he uses air as a supporting platform, more like buzz lightyear falling with style
Following we have a sequence of mini facts:
1 ) Jason finds easier going down than up (probably because of the effects gravity has on his control)
2) His first thoughts are for Coach and than Leo
3) Piper being brave moment #4
Tumblr media
Interesting observation #9: More of Jason's amazing instincts kicks moments
I already stated in the previous post that Jason has amazing instincts, but I would like to keep highlighting these super cool moments where his body takes control and muscle memory is stronger than his brains, because he sometimes gets flabbergasted when it happens and I find it funny
Amazing Jason Intuition Moment #1: He is very used to his weapon of choice, even if he doesn't remember where it came from (which is a super classy, I love this coin thing)
Tumblr media
Amazing Jason Intuition Moment #2: When he dives 1.200 meters down after Piper. This one was already quoted previously, but it is worthy mentioning again
Tumblr media
Amazing Jason Intuition Moment #3: When he half-heartedly tries to convince himself and the others he didn't know how to fly, even if he is already dismissing his rational thinking and slowly believing more in his internal pointers
Tumblr media
Amazing Jason Intuition Moment #4: Another muscle memory moment with his super dope weapon
Tumblr media
The part 2 of this post is here, where I will talk a bit more of Leo's poor situation during this fight (that is also very funny) and FINALLY will talk a bit about Annabeth, since she apperas at the very end of the chapter

Whenever I see "fix it fics" that involve Izzy being alive (or even being a ghost) and living happily ever after with Ed and Stede at the Inn, I'm just like, "Wow! Congrats on not understanding ANY of those characters."
Ed doesn't want Izzy to come live with him and Stede. Like, I think it's completely fair (and actually very much factual in canon) to say that Ed didn't want Izzy to die. They had more or less made amends with each other prior to the final episode, and Ed did consider Izzy to be family. But Ed considering someone to be family still comes with a lot of baggage for Ed. Izzy was the other half of Blackbeard and Ed wanted to put Blackbeard completely behind him. We know that Ed was different when he was with Stede on the Revenge. We know that he was different when he had support and friendships with the crew. We know that he was different when he had Stede. We know that Ed could have been himself on the Revenge, but he still chose to be an innkeeper. He still chose to leave all that behind, and if Izzy was still alive, Ed would have chosen to leave him behind too. He wanted a clean break with Piracy. The only thing he bothered to take with him after that break was Stede - the guy who made him believe that he could be more than just Blackbeard.
And Stede also doesn't want Izzy there. Sure, they had managed to find some common ground this season, but Stede just left everything behind to be with the love of his life, the man he has been single mindedly searching for for months. He wants to spend his time with Ed. He's not going to want a third wheel. I don't care if they managed to strike up the bitchiest of friendships in the end. You don't want your bitchy friend to tag along on your honeymoon.
And of course, if Izzy had survived, he wouldn't want to be there either. Did none of these people listen to the speech he gave to Ricky? Izzy had finally figured out how to make a crew into a family. He finally figured out how to find meaning in the crew instead of just obsessively following around a reputation. Season 2 finally allowed Izzy to find a purpose for his life that wasn't Ed, so why the hell would he want to leave that new purpose to follow Ed around all over again? Izzy likes being a pirate. After everything he went through, he still sees value there. He still sees a new path towards happiness in that life. He has no reason to want to leave it.
I get people wanting a situational comedy and dropping all 3 characters into those circumstances, and I'm sure there's good, comedic fics out there that accomplish that. But to claim that this scenario would be a happy ending for any of them just seems so completely divorced from reality.

Soooooo.... what if Wukong didn't always have stage fright? What if he ONLY started being afraid of large crowds watching him....
AFTER his rampage through Heaven and he was sentenced to death, trigrams furnace, lots of stabbing, and when nothing else worked 500 years under a mountain by a LARGE CROWD of angry gods.
Mac is more than a bit surprised to learn yhe boisterous, bold Monkey King was more than a little traumatized by the whole experience and maybe he needs some hugs....😈
Ooo thats a spicy idea >:3
My hc is that Wukong is good at bluffing and improvising - but the second there's a "script" to follow or something is expected of him, he just freezes. He can drunkenly retell his Havoc in Heaven to the Brotherhood with perfect comedic timing, but if he's asked to make a speech infront of his own army he stumbles. He'll def improv a troop raising call no problem, just don't expect him to keep any decorum.
And oh gosh, imagine that the modern stage reminds Wukong so much of the "trial" he endured in the Celestial Realm after the Havoc.
Hundreds of people he can barely see, many that want to hurt/kill him, reduced to his birthday suit (think the "you flicked too damn hard!" scene in Thor Love and Thunder), the location of his sworn siblings unknown, Mac's no where to be seen, and he just heard Lao Tzu say something about a furnace??
Wukong had the attention of All of Heaven on him. He never wants to endure that again.
At least with armies of angry soldiers, he can physically fight back and repel them. When his "audience" has him restrained or expected to remain calm, Wukong starts to panic. He feels like an chained animal. I'm surprised that he didn't have a more negative reaction during the talent show in Lantern City.
Tumblr media
Macaque of course always knew Wukong was bad at scripted speeches, so he had been the one to whisper lines into his ears/hold up cue cards for him back in the day. Macque had always been the better actor. Just another way they were like Sun and Moon together.
But the first time he sees the great Sun Wukong get swarmed by paparazzi in the aftermath of a rough fight, and the king freezes and can't even speak? Mac jumps in and whisks him away via shadow portal.
Macaque: "You never used to lock-up like that... not even when I dragged you into my plays for the little monkeys." Wukong, slowly calming down: "I... it's just all the eyes on me... It reminds me of the trial... All those face just... watching me and talking about me like I'm some sort of animal..." Macaque, flooded with regret and remembering what Wukong said under the mountain: "Oh..." (a hug occurs) Macaque: "I'm... sorry I couldn't come to your rescue back then." Wukong, trying to deflect with humor: "Hey lets be fair - I doubt you could have taken on the entire Celestial justice system by yourself. A lot of what I said back then was cus my brain just got finished steaming." Macaque: "I could have tried." Wukong: "Then we would have shared that furnace. And we'd be two idiots chained beneath the mountain together." Macaque, small smile forming: "You speak as though that would be so terrible." Wukong, forgot how much natural rizz Mac has: "ah." (//∇//)
The two monkeys later find a simple solution to the problem. Lots of Wukong clones, all doing advertisments and public appearances. Small downside is now a few hair clones will hum advert jingles and get too ethusiastic at the mic.
Macaque: "...tell me, why were you using a cardboard Wukong if you could make temporary clones of yourself?" Wukong: "Sentimental value."

The ask about racism in TOH made me realize, the show really is kinda racist?
Even tho the main character is afro latina, the crew is almost completely white. The one Black latina crew member (who Luz was named after, and who ✨inspired✨ the creator into making her afro latina) didn't even get to be a cultural consultant, let alone a writer. Instead, she was demoted to storyboard supervisor (AKA correcting other's drawings to make them in model, one of the LEAST creative roles of the bunch).
Then, there's the characters and setting. The demon realm "should" be a place of horror and awe, full of weird and bizarre creatures. And yet, all the important characters are human adiacent and far removed from any demonic trait. Even a supposed demon was stripped of his demonity (?) once it was time for him to become important.
Demons are, effectively, treated as an underclass by the narrative. Their only use is as spooky decorations, unnamed background characters, or comedic one off villains. They're never allowed to be complex, compelling or interesting. Even though the whole premise is about exploring a demon world full of different kinds of people, only the humanoids (AKA the people most similar to "us") are worthy of the show's time.
In a similar (but less obvious) vein, TOH excludes its POC characters from being actually important to the plot. Luz's cultural background is never properly explored outside of few background details and "speaking Spanish". Her being "afro" is never actually shown, being only mentioned outside the show. Her part in the big story, and her development, come much later than other characters, with a contrived time travel storyline.
Willow and Gus contribute very little to the overall story, and feel like network mandates. Gus especially gets overlooked all the time, inside and outside (post hoots, interviews) the show. His only few moments are overshadowed by some big character moments, like kisses.
Other POC characters are even more marginal (Raine, Darius). Meanwhile, Camila's characterization ping pongs all the time, before landing on "secret nerd all along" and hastly closing her arc.
Another way you can see the bias is in the world building. It should represent all of Earth's myths, but instead feels like reguegitated european fantasy. What about Willow being Korean? It doesn't get rep in the show since Korean culture never gets explored in any way. Just another informed attribute, a way to avoid the show saying "oh yeah she's not white she's... Asian" without putting the effort to actually represent Koreans (ik her va is Korean but Hunter's is Black... You shouldn't have to scroll imdb to find the rep).
And the show as a whole feels like this. It's "diverse" in a way that doesn't actually challenge the status quo, it shows different kinds of people but, at the end of the day, who gets the spotlight always falls into the same category of white/white passing, "good" looking, not too different in body frame, and aligned in values/behaviors to the norm.
TOH might pride itself for being "daring" because of the queer content... But it's a very "white" kind of queerness, only really welcoming to a very specific kind of person.

The Boys thoughts 4x5:
Homelander’s conversation with Ryan: felt realistic to his character but also yikes (as always). Acknowledgement of his manipulation of Ryan +1 Acknowledgement of his own trauma +1 Equivalence of his experience as a deeply privileged white man to slavery -100
Ryan getting the PA to slap the Snyder parody: one of those delightful moments that The Boys does so well where I feel both positive and negative emotions about it. Do I think the Snyder dude deserved to be slapped by his PA? Absolutely. Do I think it’s a good thing that Ryan thinks the ultimate penance is receiving corporal punishment? No I don’t. I do like that Ryan actually let the victim do the punishment and receive the apology rather than white knighting about it. And of course I am deeply aware of how ironic it is that Homelander is helping Ryan stand up for sexual harassment victims when Homelander raped Ryan’s mom in a similar power imbalance situation.
Genuinely feel sad for Ashley that she lost her Ben Shapiro parody submissive (at least partially because I found it hilarious), but she got him back and that felt very earned.
I knew that Ashley and A-Train did more to Homelander’s apartment! Haha I can’t wait to find out what it is.
Man no one is having a great time or talking about it this episode.
Always happy to see more Esposito, love him as the ultimate traitor. Just betraying everyone left and right.
Not super fond of how they’re making it seem like Annie was wrong morally for beating up Firecracker. For falling for it? Sure. For reacting with anger? No.
Big fan of the V-ed up animals. Hysterical and very fun.
“Do you even know who Annie is anymore?” Um has more time passed that they’re showing? Because didn’t Annie decide to use the Starlight name again like two episodes ago?
I like that we got to see Hughie solve a bad situation on his own this time. He’s really coming into his own. Also, I like that we got another chance to say goodbye to his dad. Still sus that Hughie’s mom knows what V is.
Finally we got to see some of Simon Pegg’s comedic chops too. Him spinning around inside that guy had me laughing like nothing else.
Butcher taking that scientist captive? Honestly that doesn’t feel so much like a return to the dark side as just something his character would always be willing to do. Lest we forget he kidnapped Translucent, tortured him, pumped him for information, and would have killed him if Hughie didn’t get there first. I do feel like he’s relying less on other people which is a backslide from his character development but true to where his character was in the first season too.
Not a lot of sister sage the episode, glad to see she saw through firecracker’s fake inclusion attitude. I do feel like she’s growing closer and closer to dropping Homelander as an ally, something I suspected she would do from the minute they teamed up.
No Colin but I’m sure that’s gonna bite them in the ass.
What are the rules of Victoria’s headpopping? We saw her do it a little but there were many more opportunities. Does she need to charge up? Line of sight? Eye contact?
I agree that Victoria turned her daughter into a monster but only because she taught her not to value human lives and also because she turned her into some version of Parasyte: The Maxim.
Not a fan of Frenchie turning himself in. That’s not going to do anything, now they’re gonna have to break him out, and this show’s morality was never black and white enough that it could look at his actions and be like “you finally did the right thing”
Man when they all meet up with Hughie again he’s gonna have some stories to tell.
Side note: I am utterly amazed that now the secret of Compound V is out that no other country is sending like every spy in their arsenal to steal some. Considering how easily Hughie and the Boys can get it, it isn’t very difficult. Take one look at the nuclear arms race and tell me that every country in the world wouldn’t be quietly declaring all out war on Vought to get their hands on some.

so, I have a few things to say
141 power rangers somehow manifested in my brain without any remorse, mainly because I was pissed that two of the original zord powers/suits werent dinosaurs and were mammals. so now we got Ghost(Ankylosaurus), Laswell(Pterodactyl), Price(T-rex), Soap(Triceratops) and Gaz(Stegosaurus). I also switched the Pterodactyl colours because as much as I love pink, it is a little too on the nose with the whole stereotypical gender colours and also I dont think Laswell would appreciate that. Yeah anyways so the way that rangers become rangers is they have to die so that the government cant have any identification ties to the current rangers. If they die with the core values that rangers follow there is a chance for them to be ressurected as a ranger(if there is a spot open on the roster, and its not 50/50, more like 13/87, it can take a good 20-30 years for the roster to be full) where they get their body modified to endure the battles and become retroactively immortal(NOT PERMANENT, they can die from really severe injuries, but then they get ressurected again, but are put out of commission for like a good week(they can also die on the spot when they retire their abilities(this is for comedic purposes)) The suits have a catalyst item(usually an item that was on their person when they die) that the rangers must wear if they want their suits, which they can morph into the three different options on command, usually verbal, with Ghost as the exception(for plot reasons(trust me)) The very patterned suits are what they wear if they are doing like, public service, since the rangers do some o that in the series, with the whole like, entertaining the idea of interviews and putting on little shows for kids. Those suits arent meant for battle because I keep twitching while watching any fight scenes because the suit fabrics look so thin. So in this the suits are more to appeal to the public eye more if they appear because they are percieved as more friendly and approachable. And then there are the battle suits(which Ghost is wearing in the second drawing), those are fully armoured but still flexible for the battlefield. There are two versions, day camo(havent drawn yet) and night camo. oh yeah and these guys are shapeshifters, with or without the catalyst they can morph, contrary to expectations, small AND large forms are the hardest to morph into alone. They can also morph into a conglomerate and manage the form coodependantly while doing things independently so that less time is wasted on just one persons reaction time hindering an attack(This is my version of the Zords in this AU) anyways that is my yap fest over.

Oooo, you have Jefferson hcs? I'd love to hear them if you're comfortable with that (not forced)
I definitely haven’t thought about this too much /s
TL;DR I feel like he’d be a great one-off character for the Table purely for comedic value. Dude is pathetic and his antics and attempts to convince others of his legitimate (totally legitimate, he swears) statehood would be hilarious.
Some art and HCs under the cut.
@freshwolfhell has lots of good Jeff HCs as well! A lot of these are the results of our discussions!
TW Discussion of weed (ofc) and other drugs
Tumblr media
I forgot if I posted this one or not; again, credit to @freshwolfhell for inspiring this silly comic.
-As the comic above implies, Jeff is sometimes the definition of political “horseshoe theory”; coming to agree with certain progressive/liberal values not because he understands them or agrees with them, but for his own completely unhinged reasons.
-Dude smokes so much weed. He’s just constantly surrounded by a haze. He also struggles with addictions to some harder drugs.
-He’s a hardcore conspiracy theorist. There aren’t many conspiracy theories he DOESN’T believe in, even ones that seemingly contradict each other.
-He lives in an RV deep in the forest. The RV is covered in moss and hasn’t been moved in at least 20 years. It’s at the end of a dirt road that’s impassable when it rains. He rarely leaves, but when he does, he drives an old beat up Subaru with a hundred somewhat contradictory political bumper stickers.
-He managed to rig up a setup for TV and shitty internet, but he’s very much stuck in the past technology-wise. He still rents DVDs and listens to the radio. His favorite pastime is listening to true crime or conspiracy podcasts, and/or watching news stories about how much California sucks.
-He may or may not frequently get mistaken for some type of cryptid.
-He used to work in the logging industry and he feels a lot of resentment at California and the “environmentalists,” who, in his opinion, ruined his life by lobbying against the industry, leading to the downfall of so many of “his” towns and plunging him into poverty. He’s extremely bitter about this, as well as every other wrong (imagined or real) committed by California and Oregon against him. (Just like California) He keeps receipts. He writes down everything in a journal, and takes it with him everywhere.
-He lets his resentment and anger control him. Instead of trying to better his own situation or trying to get along with others, he places the blame for his own failures on everyone else.
-A lot of his resentment and anger is (perhaps misplaced) jealousy. Of California. Of the other cities and regions of California who have (in his mind) everything he never had. Of the other states, who are recognized as such and the honor that brings. Of course he’d never admit this.
-He’s convinced in his own mind that he’s a real state, and has been for decades, and that everyone else is actively conspiring to hide that fact.
-In an attempt to to gain support, he’s gone to the other “misfits” in the nation like Puerto Rico, Hawai’i, and Maryland. Each attempt has backfired spectacularly, as he’s not exactly culturally or racially aware, and ended up saying some offensive shit to them.
-He tries to call both California and Oregon every Thursday to remind them that he’s a state, but they’ve long since blocked him on every form of communication. So he’s gone back to writing letters. They’re long-winded, filled with spelling errors, and list (in great detail) every grievance that Jeff has with both of them. He never gets a response, but he continues to send them.
-He also writes letters to various other California and Oregon cities— nasty, threatening letters if he hates them (San Francisco) or vague attempts to make friends if he likes/admires them (Bakersfield).
-He has a whole ass arsenal of guns. He is absolutely NOT a responsible gun owner. He should probably not be trusted with any type of weapon, not even a kitchen knife.
-He’s a self-proclaimed “survivalist.” He knows how to forage for food and he does eat a lot of wild blackberries and fish he caught himself. However, all the ramen and candy he eats on a regular basis might be hard to find during the apocalypse…
In conclusion, he (not California, as he claims) is his own worst enemy. He lets his legitimate feelings of betrayal and isolation burn out of control and rule his life. He’s lonely and bitter and he’s constantly seeking the kind of validation he never receives.
Also, here’s a playlist for this asshole. Mostly just vibes.

Thoughts about the impact jK Rowling has had on the female character:
I think it's fair to say that we have a long way to go in media and literature to achieve a steady basis of good female characters. That's not to say there's none, but the bad does outweigh the good. The thing is, it is getting better. These days when we look at media we can find a lot of well written female characters. Tina, Louise and Linda Belcher. Star Butterfly and Mabel Pines. Nadja of Antipaxos. These are just a few characters I thoroughly enjoy watching on screen and the reason for this is because they're relatable to me. I sometimes sing to myself like Linda, I've found myself writing fan fiction like Tina. I've had that moment like Louise where I stood there as a child and wondered why others around me don't like the things I do. I'm flawed like Mabel and I like cute things like Star.
All of these women above are women. They're feminine. They allow themselves to embrace everything that makes them who they are and yes there are struggles but they're not standing there telling me they're modernising what it means to be a woman. They're women and I like them.
Characters like these have been hard won. We've legitimately struggled to get them here and every year it's getting harder and harder to keep women like these on screen. The reason behind this, I kind of blame a lot on the impact Harry Potter had not just on media but what it means to be a woman.
Has anyone else heard the phrase 'Be a hermione in a world full of princesses?' Does anyone see how toxic this is? Does anyone else not see the problem JK has created by her series getting popular? A problem she hasn't and doesn't want to address because she doesn't realise the problems in her own books.
Hermione was a breakthrough character in children's media. By that, I mean that people finally saw the bookish girl as holding value in a narrative beyond what she had been before (maybe annoying. Maybe just a side character. Never a main character or love interest.- except no, that's wrong. we had lisa Simpson way before Hermione...
Lisa is more nuanced though. I enjoy Lisa because she's very self aware and does try and improve herself even if she's doomed to love in a sitcom she can't escape her role from.
Back to Hermione. Hermione was new to children at least. She showed kids there was value in reading and learning. But, in all honesty, how much is Hermione's popularity down to Emma Watson's portrayal of her and how much is it down to the character of Hermione.
Movie Hermione is very watered down. In fact she's given a lot of Ron's lines which makes her more impactful and Ron further into the shadow of the comedic best friend. Emma Watson is very pretty too. Even as a child she looked a lot like how a lot of prettier girls in my class looked. Her hair was the only thing that made her an outcast. But even then, this was the early 2,000s. Do you know how many kids my age came to school with Hermione's hair? They brushed those curls out until they were dead. No one knew about the curly girl method in primary. The point is, Hermione is different on screen than in the books. she's pretty, she's emotional, shes more nuanced than she is in the books and I applaud the movies for doing this to Hermione because it did make her more likeable.
That's the thing though. More likeable. In the books Hermione is not a likeable character to a lot of people. She would have been the know it all in class that reminded the teacher they had homework. Yes, she did some good things, she spoke up about the house elves, she saved Harry's life a few times but her character, in my opinion, got worse as the books went on. She remained very consistent. there wasn't a lot of change to her character. She didn't seem to grow because she didn't have to.
Worse. she was elevated.
I don't know if anyone else caught the horrific misogyny in these books but I did and it infuriates me.
JK makes a point of elevating Hermione. Hermione is always right. Hermione will always win. Hermione is the standard we should hold other females to, and I know for a fact it's because her popularity increased as the movies were brought out.
If we look at the other female characters in comparison to Hermione I honestly hate it. Mainly because Hermione is elevated to a point where she isnt feminine. If you show any femininity in those books you're villainised.
Don't believe me?
What colour does Umbridge wear? Pink. What is her favourite animal? A cat. She likes sweet things and lace. Shes everything we've come to know about women but she's twisted inside so we can't like these things. we turn against these things because Hermione doesn't wear pink. she wears blue like at the yule ball. she's almost masculine in her appearance so we don't associate her with natural beauty.
Lavender. Girly girl. Just wants a boyfriend because all girls at that age are boy crazy. She's a very supportive girl. Its turned to clinginess. Something hermione is not. In fact she keeps ron at such a distance I didn't even know they would end up together until the last book. the movies made it more obvious, they did their best with it. But the books didn't.
Cho Chang. Cries a lot. Emotional. Doesn't matter that she's grieving and was forced to give up the location due to a potion. No, she's villainised so Ginny can have a sudden romance with harry that again came out of nowhere.
Luna escapes this thankfully. Only because she's too weird for us to consider her having romantic notions. she doesn't have to be put down or twisted to make way for someone else.
Jk made a whole generation of girls hate anything girly. They turned away from pink. They would rather pick up a book than do their make up. Their interest in Hermione and rejecting femininity is the reason we have so many bad female heroines these days.
My question to jk is why? Why couldn't a girl like make up and reading? Why is it one or the other? Why must we reject the pleasures of being dainty and liking cute and fun things in order to be a good woman? Why couldn't we have a character like Louise? Louise is very much a tom boy. But you know what? Louise wears a dress and bunny ears, pink bunny ears, every day of her life because the writers of that show understood a female character. Louise loves smashing mirrors. She also loves Boo Boo. She doesn't like pixies but she still likes wearing a dress.
For years the girly girls of this world had to put up with characters like Hermione being paraded in front of them and told that they themselves were being bad women because they liked pink. Because they liked cats and boys. It wasn't right. And we really need to ask the question on why JK thought to put women down like this in her books when she herself is- apparently- such a protector on what it means to be a woman.
I spy some internal misogyny. I spy a lot of things and theres probably more i could say but it's late, I'm tired and my phone keeps smashing my words together so I need to stop typing.
This is just my opinion. You don't have to agree. This is just the experience I've had growing up in a world where these books shaped a lot of my childhood. I probably would have explored dresses and brighter colours faster if I wasn't told by a fictional character and the grip she had on me and my femininity that pink is bad. That being a girl is bad.

Say, what exactly was Jonno's endgame in combining his engagement announcement with MC's birthday dinner? Is he just that stupid and insensitive, or was he trying to take a jab at MC for some reason?
Hilarious that Natasha and MC keep getting shoved together though— first the announcement, then the wedding with MC getting shot. Chained to Each Other by the Red String of Fate, if you will.
If it was an option, I would totally steal her right under Jonno's nose out of pure spite and comedic value.
Also, my MC was totally exploding them both in their mind while fakely congratulating them. :)
jonno is like a blend of the worst people i have ever had the pleasure of knowing and being way too rich for his own good. jonno doesn't have anything personal against the MC (that we know of anyways) he's just the level of wealthy and privileged where awareness goes completely out of the window y'know - and he can (literally) afford to do that because it'll never bother or affect him! like you said, he's just insanely insensitive and inconsiderate haha
also KJ and jonno are like those best buddies that are always together but also have to bring their wives that hate each other (MC and natasha) to everything like in some cheesy comedy film LMAO

2024 Watch List pt2
Mr Unlucky has no choice but to kiss - Very, very cute and silly without being slapstick. This gets a bit lost in its own soup and after about episode 4 it drags some. Also just a bizarre and somewhat anticlimactic ending. The leads are lovely though and they do work well together. 3/5 (22/2/24)
What did you eat yesterday S1 - Just perfect. Watching Shiro & Kenji grow together over the episodes is a treat. This is as warm and tender as it is brilliantly observed and funny. A true must watch. 5/5 (24/2/24)
The Sign - This just got lost in itself. It had moments of absolute perfection but there were, for me, too many threads it didn’t tie up. Personally I liked this show the most in its procedural show parts and less in its fantasy elements, where I feel it had the most work to do. This isn’t one I’ll rewatch but I did enjoy the journey. 3/5 (25/2/24)
If it’s with you - Lovely is the best word for this. Just a little warm hug of a thing. A sweet story of first love. 4/5 (26/2/24)
I became the main role of a BL drama - Very soft and silly. Not much happens but the leads are lovely and fun to watch. Would kind of love a spin off about the managers if I’m honest. Zero complaints. Just a cute, easy, quick watch. 3/5 (27/2/24)
Kabe Koji - Very enjoyable. Absolutely loved the manga come to life concept of this one. It was super fun to look at. Personally, I think this could have done with maybe 1 or 2 more episodes. Neither character felt as explored as I would have liked. A nice watch nonetheless :) 3/5 (27/2/24)
The Man who defies the world of BL s1 & 2 - This is so unbelievably funny and well observed. Atsuhiro is a master at comedic faces and they never feel slapstick or overdone. Loved every silly second. 4/5 (28/2/24)
Candy Colour Paradox - This isn’t the best acted thing and the chemistry is only so-so it also really starts to drag in places. (Inserting Izuka Kenta into a multiple episode arc was a choice because he’s incredible and it only serves to highlight the so-so of the leads.) Having said all these things it still has a charm and I still enjoyed watching it. Just perhaps not one I’ll be itching to rewatch or suggest to friends. 3/5 (28/2/24)
Perfect Propose - A sweet six episode watch that’s really all about being human. Kai has to realise that being part of peoples lives is both terrifying but necessary and Hiro must learn to value the role he plays in the world. Just a gorgeous little watch. 4/5 (1/3/24)
Kei x Yaku - Is this a BL? Not really? It’s more like gay romance is heavily inferred but here is a messed up, lovely little found family so enjoy that. This is so much fun and I can’t rec it highly enough. Very much just tune in and have fun. 4/5 (1/3/24)
Cherry Magic - Zero notes. Absolute perfection. TayNew supremacy. 5/5 (2/3/24)
My Personal Weatherman - Just bored me honestly. It’s not bad but it’s not as good as some make it out to be. I think if I’d watched this before the novelist I might have liked it more? Not something I’ll reach for again. 3/5 (3/3/24)
My Beautiful Man s1&2 - This is very Japanese and, on paper, should not have worked for me at all. In practice tho? I loved this. I understand the reasons this is controversial but I also think if you go into this without any of the disk horse you’ll just see it for what it is; a love story between two broken boys with piss poor communication skills and self esteem issues. 4/5 (5/3/24)
My Beautiful Man Eternal - This movie is the third part of the beautiful man series. I genuinely think you could skip s2 and go straight in for this. It delivers what I would have wanted, but was impossible to give in four episodes, from s2. We see Hira and Kiyoi’s growth as individuals and also together and we finish with them as equals, with Kiyoi speaking to his king Hira. Beautifully shot, excellently acted. Will watch again. 5/5 (6/3/24)

I finished Fallout 1, I'm playing Fallout 2 and I plan to jump to New Vegas after that, any reccomendation? Obviously it's a different genre, but anything else I should keep in mind?
First and foremost, despite being one of the great gaming loves of my life, New Vegas is buggy as all hell. If you're comfortable installing mods, take a look at Viva New Vegas for a guide to the ones you may want and how to install them, especially ones on this page. Either way, save your game frequently!
The biggest gameplay change between the first two games and the later ones is that it's no longer isometric but first or third person. The introductory quests are pretty gentle, so it shouldn't be too hard to get the hang of it.
New Vegas is a more or less direct sequel to Fallout 2 (though I easily jumped in without playing that), so you're all set up as far as lore goes. Poke around and ask people questions, though, because some things have changed!
And now, more tips for anyone playing New Vegas for the first time...
Don't feel compelled to play Hardcore Mode unless you're already doing very well and want a challenge. There's great comedic value in the Hero of the Wastes scrounging around for old potato chips, but counting ammo as part of carrying weight is a killer.
No matter how you want to build your character overall put some points in Speech or Barter or ideally both. This is a game all about talking circles around your enemies.
Also take at least some Science or Lockpick, since you will usually have your choice of those two skills to get into locked buildings.
You don't have to take the sexuality perks (though I always do) but if you're playing a woman and you take Black Widow, it enables you to do the single funniest dialogue tree in the whole game.
There is no specific Designated Good Guy Path- there are three morally grey choices you can make arguments for, and one very obviously evil one. Pick the one you feel your character would believe in, or just the one with the most entertaining quest giver. Where you can really find unambiguous good, you'll find it in the various side quests you can do, and pretty much all of them will contribute to a good ending.
Some people love the DLCs, but I can honestly take or leave them. If you're just going to do one, do Old World Blues.
There is intense environmental storytelling going on, so be sure to read logs and listen to tapes whenever you can. In particular, within the remains of Vault 11, you will find a story that will haunt you forever.
Talk to your companions whenever there's a chance, they're all great and they all have great stories to unlock- for instance, if you want to see the extent of Caesars' Legions's evil firsthand, or find the only sympathetic moments the Enclave get in the whole franchise.
No matter which ending path you pursue, it's worth hearing out House and Caesar just because they have some very good speeches. You can always kill them later.
Don't be ashamed to look stuff up, quests are scattered all over the damn map.
You will eventually get sick of the same songs being played over and over on the radio. When that happens, open up your own music and put on the Johnny Cash cover of Big Iron.
