if you could redesign a pokemon or digimon to your own style what would it be and why?
I'm not really sure if you mean redesigning them in a way I would like them more or which Pokemon would fit my pre-existing style of drawing/world?
I feel pretty visually connected to a bunch of the ultra-beasts. Some creepy mons and some very cute ones like Clobbopus, Reuniclus, and Joltik, Tarountula... while Blaziken is my starter.
so here's a clobbopus who isn't an octopus and has only one fist
Tumblr media
I redesigned him just because I love this little guy! I have a plush of him.
And here's a redesign of a Pokemon I was very disappointed with. He deserves his long butt!!! - Spidops
Tumblr media
This is not probably what you meant with your ask but these were fun!

Have you reviewed the Grapploct line? Thanks as always for your thoughts!
Tumblr media
I actually really like Clobbopus here. I feel like a fighting-type octopus that uses its tentacles for punching, while a fairly obvious concept, is a good one, and Clobbopus does a good job of representing that with its dark-colored "boxing gloves" and markings that make a wrestling mask of sorts.
I also just like the general aesthetics here. The off-white and orange are a lovely combo, and the blue eyes work well with it. The "gloves" being a dark gray helps them pop out against the rest of the design, with just a small fringe of the same color at the bottom to carry it through without distracting from the tentacles. The blue eyes and their rectangular shape are also super cute.
Tumblr media
However, I'm not really that big on Grapploct. It's one of those evos that looses most of the best attributes of the first stage.
To start, I really don't care for the sudden color change. There's no actual reason it couldn't be the off-white with orange, and making the entire body dark gray means you lose any emphasis on the tentacles that the original had. Using navy on this dark color also means that the design blurs together, making it hard to read save for the yellow mask and suckers. Ironically, the shiny keeps a closer palette to Clobbopus (not exact, but closer), and frankly I think it's much better:
Tumblr media
On top of that, they also changed the eye shape again for no reason, and it seems to have completely lost the boxing theme. It still has a wrestling motif with the mask, and I guess it's gone from boxing to jujutsu given the "belt" around its waist, but I don't think that reads very clearly conceptually compared to the simplicity of the boxing gloves, thus making the design feel less coherent.
On the plus side, it is at least identifiable as belonging to the same line, and I do think it standing up on two tentacles is interesting, but otherwise it's just pretty "eh".
Tumblr media
Overall, Clobbopus is great. Grapploct isn't terrible, but it's not half as good as Clobbopus either due to a muddled color palette and less identifiable theme.

Ok. This is a prequel AU where professors Sada, Turo, Birch, and Sycamore are college-aged and in a metal band which logo is the best option (Birch is the lead singer he flew in from Hoenn). I have band logo ideas
Tumblr media
[ID: a Breaking Bad-like logo for Cytoplasm Blastocyst that uses the Chemical symbols for Oxygen and Arsenic. end of ID.]
Breaking Bad logo because science nerds making a metal band. Yes those are Oxygen and Arsenic, the second one make it edgy because Arsenic has Arse. Turo explained this to birch and he started laughing when Sycamore told him what Arse means in Galarian English and made breaking bad jokes is a terrible Blazikeney Accent.
Tumblr media
[ID: Cytoplasm Blastocyst Logo made from Lipops, a cutesy font, but with drippiness to make it edgier. end of ID.]
It's implied Augustine drew this on a chalkboard and Turo shook his head and Spraying and they based the logo on the drips. Turo said it was too cutesy and told Birch to make Augustine the Drummer.
Tumblr media
[ID: Cytoplasm Blastocyst logo with triangle-shaped letter A's and in Secreto Demo. End of ID.]
Drawn on a whiteboard by Sada. The eyes are from Clobbopus nd Polywrath respectively
Tumblr media
[ID: Cytoplasm Blastocyst logo spelled with unown, a pokemon based off of the roman alphabet and an exclaimation point and question mark. End of ID.]
Just uses Unown that Birch took a Photo of
Tumblr media
[ID: Cytoplasm Blastocyst logo with the melty monster font. End of ID.]
Made with a font called Melty Mon in the Pokemon universe, Sada rejected this from birch.

F-Zero racers but I give them a type to specialise in (yep, it’s another crossover post with Pokémon. Also surely I’ve done this already):
Deathborn - Dark. Is that even a question at this point?
Mighty Gazelle - Steel or Electric. That said, I do think he should have an Iron Hands on his team so yeah definitely Electric
Jody - whichever type has the most cat Pokémon. Normal feels right but given the Purrloin line, Incineroar and Meowscarada are all part Dark…
Robert - as tempted as I am to give him something like Grass, Fairy or Normal (he’s my favourite though I’m never giving him Normal), I think he has to be Fire because it means he gets Ninetales and Delphox, literally Golden Foxes. This post exists because I was thinking about Falcon as a Champion and Robert as an Elite Four member so he needs two more Fire-types I can’t think of (because somehow I’ve forgotten than Kalos is one of the only regions that does it like this (I vaguely remember Kanto in LGPE doing this too actually now that I think about it). I don’t like saying Kalos sucks or anything but you do gotta wonder what was going on in the heads of the people at Game Freak when they decided no Kalos Gym Leader has more than 3 Pokémon and no Kalos Elite Four member has more than 4 Pokémon) but for some reason Nickit (who is unevolved and pure Dark) comes to mind. He’s probably got a Flareon actually (possibly shiny because it’s closer to gold)
Baba - I’m tempted to give him an Iron Moth or a Miraidon (Iron Serpent) as a joke about his machine being called the Iron Tiger so probably either Fire, Poison, Electric or Dragon, all of which make some level of sense as Baba’s type speciality. If we wanna go with more tiger-like Pokémon… Incineroar???
Goroh - Steel because it’s where Pawniard, Bisharp and Kingambit are and I don’t want him to share a type speciality with another member of the Original Four. Water also comes to mind because of Samurott (yeah okay I’ll admit it, Samurott’s a samurai) and Greninja. Also Mantine. It’s a mantra ray not a stingray but I don’t think there are any real stingray Pokémon
Pico - Dark no question. Next!
Falcon - Flying. Also Electric because he represents the series and Electric is associated with speed (unless your name happens to be Iron Hands or Raging Bolt). Actually, so is Flying for some reason. Guess he’s undeniably a Flying trainer then!
Octoman - Water. Maybe Fighting for the Clobbopus line
Mr. EAD - idk probably Fairy but his Pokémon probably all have the Stellar Tera type
James - Dragon
Billy - Normal (no this has nothing to do with Rillaboom the Unrivaled, it’s because of Meowth)
Kate - Fairy because as far as I’m aware, that’s the type most associated with singing (maybe other than Normal. And Psychic). Her team probably consists of Primarina (probably with Liquid Voice), Jigglypuff, *looks up the move Sing to see what Pokémon can learn it* Scream Tail, *sees Lapras learns it by level up and remembers Lapras was one of the Pokémon in the Project Voltage artworks* Lapras, Cottonee (apparently it can learn Grass Whistle, which is basically Grass-type Sing) and… *is really tempted to go with Hatterene* Sylveon. I do wanna give her Toxtricity but I already decided her signature type is Fairy and Toxtricity is not part Fairy (she could have one with a Fairy Tera type though)
Zoda - You know for everyone else Mr Zero’s scared of I’m going with Dark. Zoda though I’m not so sure on. Electric and Poison both stand out as types that make sense for those who love to experiment (so he could have a Toxtricity. Cool)
Jack - Electric. His surname literally comes from the same word as Paldea’s Electric Gym city (yep, he’s definitely getting a Toxtricity)
Bio Rex - Dragon. He’s probably got half the Past Paradox Pokémon on his team (everyone saying the Future Paradox Pokémon are less original than the Past Paradox Pokémon okay tell me why all five of the Past Paradox Pokémon with higher base stat totals than the rest of them share the Dragon type while their Violet counterparts don’t share a type (well, the Neo Swords share Psychic but Miraidon wasn’t interested and that’s the only type Valiant didn’t get from its modern-day counterparts). Also the whole Past Paradox counterparts of Pokémon with two Paradox counterparts all being part Fighting while Treads got Ground/Steel, Moth got Fire/Poison and Miraidon got Electric/Dragon meaning none of their types are shared between them. Also until Wake and Fire existed the only Paradox Pokémon not to share either type with another Paradox Pokémon were Bundle and Moth (both of which seem to get featured heavily in merch - they both represented Future Flash alongside Valiant and they’re the two with those cool lights that are coming out in November. Damn I need those lights). And then there’s the animations)
The Skull - Ghost. Or Dark (probably got a Sableye)
Antonio - if Goroh has Steel, Antonio has Fire (or Fighting). If Goroh has Water, Antonio has Grass (or Electric)
Beastman - Fairy (it was the closest thing I could think of to something supereffective against Dragon without being Dragon itself)
Leon - Normal
Super Arrow - Flying
Mrs Arrow - possibly also Flying but probably something cooler like Electric
Gomar and Shioh - whatever type is the most known for having counterparts (I was thinking Electric bc Plusle and Minun but Fairy would make sense for Clefairy and Jigglypuff/Spritzee and Swirlix)
Silver - ???
Michael - I feel like Dark would make sense and he’s definitely got a Honchkrow and a Mabosstiff and possibly also a Theivul and a Liepard
Blood Falcon - Dark. Also Flying
John - Grass or Fairy
Draq - Fairy
Roger - ???
Dr Clash - Electric
Black Shadow - Dark
Don Genie - Normal, same justification as Billy
Digi-Boy - Water or Electric
Dai San Gen - Psychic
Spade - Psychic, apart from the fact he also needs a Meowscarada so probably Dark
Dai Goroh - whatever Goroh uses
Princia - Fairy no question. Actually I’m sure she could also use Psychic or Fire (Delphox?). To be fair, she’s probably more focused on Pokémon from Kalos
Lily - Steel
PJ - whichever is best at carrying others (so Dragon then)
QQQ - I’m not sure it would have a signature type. I think it just goes for turtle Pokémon like Squirtle, Turtwig and Terapagos
Phoenix - Fire. I think his theme suggests Psychic as well (*me suggesting two types and joking about them having the first Pokémon with both types I can think of* yep Delphox again)
Edit: forgot to give Silver and Roger types. I’ve just put question marks bc I still can’t think of anything

Ok so like I’ve seen a couple of twst pokemon aus and I wanted to make one too lol so I decided to list the characters and then give them a main partner based on the type I think fits best, there’s 22(?) boys so there’s gonna be 4 types that repeat. Some of them have evolved pokemon and some of them don’t, I was just kinda looking at what I think fits best.
Heartslabyul
Riddle: Fire-Flareon
I think fire fits him best? Red hair, bad temper and he’s seen using fire magic a good amount of time. I gave him flareon just bc I think the design compliments him the best.
Trey: Normal-Chansey
I really wanted to give him like alcremie or dachsbun but I think normal fits him better than fairy? Also i picked chansey bc Trey is a baker and I assume he’s uses a lot of eggs ahdhsj, also chansey is a caretaker kinda like the role Trey plays
Cater: Fairy-Sylveon
Cater wants likes on magicam and takes cute photos to get that so I think he’d be drawn to the cute fairy types even though he may not like it too much bc of his sisters; sylveon are very in tune with their trainers though so I think they help each other
Deuce: Steel-Togedemaru
His like big move is summoning cauldrons(giant metal things lol) and he’s trying to move away from his delinquent pass so I don’t think he’d want a bunch of fighting types, I chose steel bc it also makes me think of knights and he’s trying to be an honor student, someone his mom can be proud of so I think steel fits that noble image. I gave him a pika clone bc he’s more of a main character and I also think it fits him
Ace: Dark-Morpeko
I know his best magic is wind magic but I think dark fits his personality better, he’s mischievous and playful, he’s described as easy going but he can get mean and serious if need be. morpeko kinda shows how 2 faced he was when we first meet him and I gave him a pika clone too so 1) he could match w deuce lol and 2) bc he’s also one of the more main characters
Savannaclaw
Leona: Ground-Garchomp
Ground should be obvious lol, I chose garchomp bc I think a pseudo legendary fits a prince who can’t become king. Since it’s part dragon type it has a rivalry with malleus and his partner (most likely one sided tbh)
Ruggie: Dark-Zorua
Like ace I feel it really fits his personality. A mischievous pranker that also steals just fits the dark type. Zorua is mischievous and they enjoy playing pranks on people w their illusion ability
Jack: Rock-Rockfuff
Maybe it’s a bit of a cop out but I was gonna give Leona a pyroar and couldn’t so I decided to give the obvious choice to jack. Jack is always trying to get stronger and he’s real reliable which makes me think of the rock type and like I couldn’t not give the mon that turns into a werewolf to Jack that would be a horribly missed opportunity
Octavinelle
Azul: Water-Spheal
He doesn’t want people to know he’s an octopus so I don’t think he’d want an octo pokemon, he mentions that his home is super cold so I gave him spheal as a reference to that, I also think he’d try and lure in customers with them since they’re so cute and marketable
Jade: Bug-Parasect
I had this whole thing written with the repeats but I realized at the end if I wanted to make jade poison w a foongus like I had originally that would have left lilia with the bug type 😆, so jade goes from poison to bug which I still thinks fits really well esp with parasect, he enjoys hunting for mushrooms which means he must enjoy the outdoors so he can’t mind bugs too much right 🤨
Floyd: Fighting-Clobbopus
I think Floyd would have one to annoy azul, he also likes to squeeze people and so maybe one day if he evolves clobbopus he’ll have someone to squeeze with lol. Due to his sometimes violent nature I think he can handle fighting types
Scarabia
Jamil: Psychic-Indeedee
His whole mind control thing and being kinda two faced makes the think of the psychic type. I was gonna give him drowzee or gothorita but thought the former was too creepy and the latter would also make a great fit but I couldn’t pass up the butler/ babysitter gimmick, it can be a male or female indeedee btw either works I think
Kalim: Flying-Togetic
With 22 boys and 18 types there can be 4 repeats so while ground and water were both good options imo there are other types I feel need a repeat so I had to get a little creative, Kalim is a happy go lucky kind of guy which fits togetic and the flying type can be seen as reflective of his easy going nature, he loves going for rides on his flying carpet which may be a reach but I like to think he enjoys the skies and likes mons that can take him there
Pomfiore
Vil: Poison-Salazzle
I feel the poison is self explanatory and salazzle I think is the most fabulous poison type lol, he takes her on all his photo shoots and carpet walks
Rook: Ghost-Greavard
I feel a hunter needs a dog and greavard is known for its loyalty, I chose ghost bc he’s in the business of killing lol, I would have picked steel or fighting but I didn’t want more than 2 repeats for 4 types so oof, sorry if it seems it doesn’t fit I think it does
Epel: Fighting-Mienfoo
Epel wants to be seen as manly so I think he’d want some jacked pokemon, I picked mienfoo bc they’re known for their agility and graceful fighting and I think that would conflict with epels idea of manliness letting them grow together lol
Ignihyde
Idia: Ghost-Phantump
He opens a gate to hell to revive his dead kid brother, I think phantump fits pretty well lol and the ghost type again ties into the whole being based on the god of the underworld thing
Ortho: Grass-Leafeon
The grass type I think is similar to life and growth and ortho wants to start learning more about human emotions so I picked it, it might not be the best pick but I would have had too many repeats of typing so again I kinda made it a stretch and also I feel the fire specialty is kinda too on the nose? Idk I wanted something different
Diasomnia
Malleus: Dragon- Dracozolt
Malleus is like one of the strongest mages so he gets a legendary I think that’s fair?? The only other non mega non legendary electric dragon type is dracozolt and I really really really want sebek to have it, I know this repeats a dual typing but 🤷‍♀️, you can’t tell me sebek wouldn’t leap at the chance to share a typing w malleus lol. He is somewhat unaware of Leona’s rivalry w him lol
Sebek: Electric- Dracozolt
I kinda already explained why last post but I also think it fits sebek bc he’s half human half fairy and dracozolt is a combination of fossils so I think they relate to one another
Lilia: Poison-Zubat
Lilia is based on a bat so that fits, I had no idea what I wanted Lilia to specialize in so I had to change jade from poison to big but I think that worked out bc I feel you can make a good reasoning for Lilia and the poison type
Silver: Steel- alolan sandshrew
Ok so like I didn’t want to give him honedge bc again I think it’s a bit on the nose and like it’s kind of a creepy mon which is fine but I wanted something that fit the typing and was related to his ability to attract little woodland creatures lol

Alisha: *Smiles, sitting with Sneasel in her lap*
Sneasel: Sne!
N: Your Sneasel says a flower petal is gonna fall on your head...

N: *Stares at Alisha*
Alisha: Pretty...
N: How come you care about pokemon?
Alisha: They're my friends of course! I will always put pokemon above myself if it is needed...they're the best thing to have ever happened to us and in grateful we have these great creatures in our lives
N: I see...
Alisha: *Smiles, picking up her Clobbopus, holding him in the air* Pokemon amaze me everyday....I love them
N: *Smiles, watching as she set Clobbopus down, then grabs her hands* And you're the best thing to have happened to me...and that's the truth..
Alisha: N...
N: I mean it
Alisha: *Laughs* You're so cheesy, but you're the best thing that happened to me as well idiocy!
N: *Smiles, Alisha hugging him, squashing their cheeks together*
Alisha: *Giggles, beaming at him*
???: *Stares at them then turns and gallops away*

octolings come from something like Grapploct and Clobbopus, or Octillery, right? I'm pretty sure that, even though they aren't poison type, they are all venomous. //based on real octopi all being venomous
I think they do? They come from octopi, like how inklings come from squid.
I didn't actually know that they we're all venomous though. Huh, interesting.
I only knew that Blue ringed Octolings we're strongly venomous. I wonder if this means all of them are at least slightly venomous?

I keep making ocs that nobody cares about but I like my characters and I spent the last two days drawing them and I’m gonna post the two pictures separately.
Tumblr media
I’m gonna put details about them here and feel free to not read it
Conner is the captain of the ship, making him the frontier brain. Battling is something he’s good at but one thing he really enjoys is boats. He’s from Hammerlocke in Galar. He has an older brother named Jasper and their relationship is kind of based on rem and ram from re zero. Basically Jasper was good at a lot of things and better than Conner in everything he liked but it doesn’t really end up like rem and ram. Conner kind of hates him now and moved to Hulbury with his dad who is a sailor and he gave him a clobbopus.
So these two ocs I made them to be battle frontier ocs. These ones are part of the battle ship. There are five facilities including this because I was thinking of making their logo a star and in my head I have the battle tower and battle tower c. (which is a clock tower)
Dock from murdock it's kinda similar to port so what I was going for in his name is like portside which means left in boat lingo so he's left handed. Hoshi means star and starboard means right so Kenji is right handed.
The story keeps going but he ends up travelling a lot and the clobbopus is the reason why most of his team are made up of water type looking pokemon that aren't water types.
Kenji is the chief officer, he’s kind of like the second in command. He doesn’t really care about the ship or this job I don’t know how he starts working there. He lives in an abandoned house in Ecruteak city in Johto that he bought for cheap and fixed up with the help of his Pokemon. He likes double battles and playing video games. He’s a coder and he was extremely reclusive until his Pokemon forced him to go outside. Then they started making him battle which made him really like battling and then he started going to the battle frontier (the one in platinum, heart gold, and soul silver)
I really need to think of team strategies for them but I do have the Pokemon they own
Conner has Pokemon that are kind of water like but not water types such as Chi-yu, Grapploct, Dhelmise, Dragalge, and Eelektross.
I’m thinking of giving him a Gilmmora because my stupid ass thought it was a water type the first time I saw it but that would make a huge majority of his team weak to ground.
Kenji has Pokemon with an evolution in gen two. I don’t know how to explain it but he has a Weavile, Scizor, Gliscor, Honchkrow, Farigaraf. The ones that don’t qualify for that is his tyranitar because he has one for some reason. I might give him some hisuian Pokemon because some of them qualify for the has a evolution in gen 2 and I’m listing them out now because why not: Overqwil, Ursaluna, Wrydeer, Sneasler, Typhlosion (but I don’t feel like giving him a starter also ursaluna is extremely overpowered lol)
Also for Kenji I don’t think those will be the Pokemon he uses in the battle ship because I made the mechanics based around status conditions and I know most of the Pokemon I listed for him don’t have many status moves.
The mechanics for the battleship is all your Pokémon get a condition called wet and it can be removed but I haven't thought how. It can also be reapplied with the move splash so that move is finally useful. After a certain amount of turns every Pokemon will get splashed and become wet again so you don’t stay dry for the entire battle and also to remove the status you already have. When your Pokemon is wet and they get another status (paralysis, burn, poison, frostbite, and drowsy) They can spread it to another Pokemon with a physical move. (don't ask how burn spreads)
What this can do is encourage you to do is use special moves to avoid getting statused and also play around with protect. Or you can flame or toxic orb yourself and spam facade on the opponent because that works.

Caring for your Pokemon: Clobbopus/Grapploct
I did talk a bit about Clobbopus before, so I won't get into too much detail about it. Basically just remember that it has the mind of a three year old and will punch anything it is interested in, be cautious around fragile things.
As for Grapploct, this Pokemon is made of muscle, but that doesn't mean it is not vastly intelligent. They are smart enough to know who is a strong opponent, and with enough observation, can recognize and exploit weak points. While they are amphibious, they do need to be hydrated to survive, and when their skin becomes dry, they can develop problems. I would highly advise having some sort of water Pokemon nearby so it can survive longer on land. However do NOT and I repeat DO NOT IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES MAKE SAID WATER POKEMON BE A GOLISOPOD. They are natural enemies and will battle to the LITERAL death, with the loser becoming the others dinner. Pick any water Pokemon BESIDES Golisopod for Grapploct. Trust me.

Doodledex - #852 Clobbopus
Man, what is it with Game Freak and giving weird typings to Pokemon? I mean, Clobbopus here is a pure Fighting type! And it’s not not like it’s strictly terrestrial like Inkay is... Clobbopus actually lives underwater and only comes ashore to look for food! (...Speaking of Inkay, it’s weird that we now have two non-Water type cephalopod lines, right?)
Clobbopus are about as smart as the average three-year old, and are very curious about their surroundings. But when one comes across an unfamiliar object, its main method of investigating is to punch it with one of its big tentacles, which isn’t gonna get it anywhere in most cases!

An image for a thing I wrote, but have not yet finished. Instead of re-writing everything, the summary is is that's it's a pokemon theory about pokemon species and how independent species form a bond that allows them to evolve into another. So, for instance, remoraid and octillery are actually separate species, but they have a biological (or magical, it's just magic) that means when an octillery lays an egg it will always hatch into a remoraid. And explaining why pokemon do this (safety, resource management, ecological pressures, etc.).
Will it ever get released? Who knows. Lately, with college approaching and all the hurdles they're making me go through for registration (none of it related to Covid, if you can believe it, I've just got a personal gremlin ruining my records and stuff whenever I have to interact with clerical stuff with any school), I haven't had much will to draw. I might, because usually this fanart-y stuff gets more attention than original stuff. Which might trick my brain into being more productive. But whatever.
Hey, remoraid! I chose arrokuda to accompany remoraid in the fish family because actual remoras and barracudas are more closely related than any other fish pokemon. And clobbopus is there because they're both octopi. If I were to make a pokemon family tree I probably wouldn't go the normal way of assigning pokemon to certain real-world animals and lumping everything else in a "therapsid" branch. But I chose to do it this way for simplicity's sake. And because I like arrokuda's toothy grin. Both of the newer pokes are done with the newer artstyle they go with, all clean lines and plastic-y shading. The older two are done with the watercolor style of Ken Sugimori (or at least the nearest I could get to it).

I’ve said this before, but a big part of each pokemon generation- one that gets incredibly easily overlooked- is that there are always invertebrates. I’m not even talking about bug types, I mean generally animals that are in phyla other than chordata. It’s not some sort of coincidence or fluke either. Let’s run over every pokemon based on an animal that isn’t a chordate or an insect:
Gen 1: Tentacool and Tentacruel, Staryu and Starmie, Shellder and Cloyster, Ommanite and Omastar, Kabuto and Kabutops, Krabby and Kingler.
Gen 2: Spinarak and Ariados, Corsola, Octillery, Slugma and Magcargo
Gen 3: Lileep and Cradily, Anorith and Armaldo, Corphish and Crawdaunt, Clamperl
Gen 4: Skorupi and Drapion, Shellos and Gastrodon, Manaphy and Phione
Gen 5: Joltik and Galvantula, Frillish and Jellicent, Shelmet and Accelgor, Venipede Whirlipede and Scolipede, Dwebble and Crustle
Gen 6 *the gen with only one bug type*: Inkay and Malamar, Goomy Sligoo and Goodra, Binacle and Barbaracle, Clauncher and Clawitzer, Zygarde
Gen 7: Pyukumuku, Mareanie and Toxapex, Nihilego, Wimpod and Golisopod, Dewpider and Araquanid, Crabrawler and Crabominable
Gen 8: Pincurchin, Galarian Corsola and Cursola, Sizzlipede and Centiskorch, Clobbopus and Grapploct, Gigantamax Kingler
Every single one of these pokemon can be traced to a real-world animal. Every generation, without fail. The lowest count being three lines in gen 4 (if you count Phione and Manaphy as one line).
Someone who concocts a fake pokedex to “leak” on 4chan when a new generation comes out is liable to overlook this facet of the franchise entirely in favor of cool dogs and badass dragons and only the animals your average white westerner knows off the top of their head. It’s damning evidence when a ‘leak’ doesn’t have any mollusks or echinoderms or arthropods (outside of the token butterfly). That’s why it’s the first thing I check for in any “full pokedex”. It’s also why I’m so readily tricked by the siren song of tardigrades and worms. I really want worms.

Okay but Kid with a Clobbopus cause it's got 8 arms and is a fighting octopus and octo also means 8 and it's known for being angry I think and hitting things and Kid can be a little short tempered at times
I fully support this.
