Note that I'm a critical Homestuck fan. I love the story, but I absolutely hate Andrew Hussie. I absolutely hate the fact that such a well written webcomic was written by a creator whose ableist and racist.

You know what would be really fun?

You know the typical trope

Batkid meets Danny and has a huge crush on him

Maybe they're just acquaintances or even friends

The thing is, Batkid pines for Danny, a lot

A little stalking here, a little cyberstalking there, just to get to know him better

(Bats are incapable of being normal with their feelings)

Batkid wants to ask him out on a date, but doesn't have the courage (or for whatever reason)

The family finds out, of course because they're nosy and intense

The family gets involved in that relationship (that doesn't exist yet) already excited about the future brother-in-law

They're already, jokingly, planning the wedding

The family encourages Batkid, that "they're perfect for each other", that "he'll accept", that "you're a great catch"

Batkid goes and asks Danny out on a date

There's just one little problem

Danny is Aroace

and he says No thank you (or even *confused nervous laughter* What? no)

Cue the confusion (anda maybe outrage) in the Batfam

(That's right! I'm subbing this trope, love loses here)

"No, thank you. I'm AroAce," Danny tells the man who approached him and offered to take him out on a date.

"Oh, sorry for bothering you. Have a good day," he says, raising his hands and backing away. He returns to the table of other black-haired people who are doing poor jobs of not staring. They all start jeering and taunting the man until he shakes his head and speaks.

Everyone at the table pats him and passes the chips and dip. They move on to a different topic, and Danny can't help but feel highly grateful none of them made it a big deal.

One of the girls with dark hair sees him staring, but she merely smiles. She proudly holds up her purse, displaying the demisexual pins, and with a wink, she lets Danny know that he doesn't have to feel uncomfortable.

It is then that he realizes he actually knew that man. He was Jasson Todd, the TA for Sam's advanced English Epic Poems class. Danny would see him whenever he waited for her class to end since he was her ride. He would do his homework in the back of the lecture hall after getting permission from the professor since he could use their Wi-Fi.

He never realized Todd paid him any attention.

He returns to the bar, signaling the barkeep for another jarrito mug tequila shot. That's when Jazz returns from the bathroom, smiling at the few men who throw her appreciative looks but find her seat next to him without stopping for any of them.

"Don't be mad," She says, gesturing to the approaching mariachi band. "The restaurant has a special treat for birthday boys."

Danny can only turn bright red as the band surrounds him, and an employee appears carrying a slice of chocolate cake. They surround him, tuning up the Spanish birthday song (He thinks it's called The Little Mornings?). Jazz is signing along because she studied Spanish and worked as an English teacher in Mexico for about four years before returning to the USA to finish her childhood dream of being a psychologist.

She recommended this restaurant because it was classy and well-decorated, and the food was authentic Mexican cuisine, which she had missed so much.

Danny smiles awkwardly, unused to the attention when he realizes that Jason Todd is singing from his table and his siblings (?) are all clapping along. From the corner of his eye, he catches Jazz, sending Todd a grateful smile that has a tad bit too much interest.

The man may leave this place with a date from a Fenton after all. Todd blushed when Jazz sent him a drink towards the night's end, but he didn't seem uncomfortable with her attention.

Danny got to leave with the whole chocolate cake behind the counter. Everyone had a great night.

S8e9 always fascinates me. How House can't believe in a relationship without sex and how Wilson actually wants it to be true. How House was talking about sex all the time when in relationship with Cuddy and how Wilson always just wanted to be friends with their wifes/gfs before they jumped him.

so there's actually a nice amount of canon evidence for this, most of which was not intended to be canon evidence for this. I saw many of these panels on tiktok originally and unfortunately many of them have been deleted, but at least one that I have bookmarked is still up by user goodusername28 so you can go check that out.

anyway, to sum up, robin!jason is a precious baby who was written to be simply too innocent to understand why people want romantic relationships, but also he was fourteen/fifteen at the time which when many people (including myself!) get in their first relationships and even fall in love for the first time, and him expressing disgust at Bruce being in a romantic relationship can also easily be read as him not being able to understand or relate to wanting to have a relationship at all.

when it comes to adult!jason, honestly he hasn't really had the time to date that much, but the few relationships that they do try to give him all seem to crash and burn really quickly and he never seems to me to be that invested, or the relationships even happen entirely off screen (apparently after they've hooked him up with rose wilson in a couple of elseworlds stories {there's one where they're married I think??}, they decided to mention that he and rose "used to date" in canon. when tho. literally when. he don't got the time!). in n52 rhato he simply does not catch onto the fact that a stereotypically hot flight attendant is hitting on him and once they do go on a date seems honestly surprised that she'd want to kiss him. canonically they do fuck, but a. acearo people still have sex b. scott lobdell can't write, so I take what I want from his shitty writing and leave the best behind. they also repeat the whole jason being weird about consenting adults being in relationships around him sometimes as an adult, which is just hilarious cause they also insist on writing him as someone who fucks. pick a struggle, dude.

canonically the first time jason has sex is with talia shortly before he returns to gotham, and when you read the issue it's just. honestly, he doesn't express any attraction to her and I don't understand why he slept with her and it makes their already weird relationship basically incoherent, which is why so many fics ignore it happening altogether. but when it comes to my headcanon, if I choose to acknowledge that was a thing that went to print? it was about comfort. like, she is the only thing that's really familiar and safe for him right that moment, and if she comes onto him and you choose not to interpret that as an assault, it's gotta be that he accepts for that reason. and that's not desire.

there is more evidence, some specific panel stuff, but like obviously this is an interpretation that dances around canon. dc comics does not want us to think that jason is aroace. jason is a hot anti-hero, obviously he fucks. except like. he really doesn't. he's so fucking bad at relationships. he does not have any steady romantic interests. except for damian, who's still a literal child (and even then still has had a romantic interest in teen titans apparently), he's simply had the least romantic plotlines of all the robins (tim and steph count for each other, for one, plus after this week's issue of batgirls you can basically count stephcass as canon, dick has had numerous love interests with the most notable ones being babs and kory, obviously, and tim is the actual slut of the family, like dude really gets around).

and honestly I just like it? like I think it vibes with his character very well. if I'm writing him, I'm probably either writing him as demi or as aroace, depends on the story I'm telling. I have yet to come across a bad a-spec!jason fic (I've already rec'd all the ones I have tho, so go ahead and make new ones I'd fucking love that). it's just a solid headcanon.

to go into more detail about my specific headcanon, in my mind jason really hasn't had the chance to figure out that he is ace. I don't think he's even had the chance to figure out he has "equal attraction" to both genders. like my guy's been through a lot. he was a teenager and then he exploded and then he came back to life and was cutting heads off people and then he was a villain for a bit and then his dad died and then his dad wasn't dead and then reality got rewritten and he was a part of this team and then he was part of batman incorporated and then another team and also his brother died but it turned out his brother wasn't really dead and then his other brother died and this brother really was dead but he was brought to life by his dad and then his dad had amnesia and there was -

okay so basically what I'm saying is I don't know how anybody in the batfam has time for a romantic life, but certainly jason has not had the time or emotional space to figure out he does not want one. I don't think he looks at other people and wonders why he's not in a relationship, he's too busy being a crime lord and/or having daddy issues. like if he's going to be looking at strangers and longing for what they have it's like, a superficially happy and loving father/son relationship. he wants very much to belong and to be loved. but both canonically and in my own headcanon, he's not particularly motivated by romantic love.

Being acearo at a wedding is like. I love my family so much. The bride and groom are so happy. What would I write for my vows? If I got married I don't think I'd want to seal it with a mouth kiss. Naruto Pride Icons: Team 7

I headcanon all three members of Team 7 as Demi Aroace.

I used what they looked like in the Orginial Series. I plan on making these again, but using what they look like from Shippuden and Boruto. I didn't make a Kakashi one, but I plan on making a separate post for the teachers. I also plan on making one of the other characters from the Naruto universe.

However, this reminds me that I should pick up Shippuden again. I stopped somewhere during the Pain Invasion Arc. I've just been really occupied with other anime series, work, and burnout.

Happy International Asexuality Day!

I'm happy there's so much more awareness these days. I spent so many of my younger years thinking I must have been, at first, straight (100% based on liking fictional male characters more at the time lol), then bi (for feeling the same way--what i now realize is "nothing"--about both genders irl). Realizing asexuality was a thing in my early 20s shifted my perspective drastically and it's fit ever since.

I hope newer generations don't need to deal with that confusion, or struggle of trying to experience a relationship you have no interest in just because it's "normal".

aromantic: experiencing little or no romantic attraction to anyone; not having romantic feelings.

Abroromantic / aro flux: someone who fluctuates between experiencing romantic attraction and not experiencing it, and/or experiencing romantic attraction to different strengths.

Akoiromantic/lithromantic: a person who experiences romantic attraction but has no desire or need to have their feelings reciprocated. Sometimes an akoiromantic person’s attraction may fade if a romantic relationship is established.

Alloromantic/zedromantic: someone who does experience romantic attraction. An alloromantic person may be allosexual as well, but not necessarily.

Cupioromantic: someone who does not experience romantic attraction but has a desire to be in a romantic relationship.

Demi(a)romantic: someone who only experiences romantic attraction after establishing a strong emotional connection to someone.

Quoiromantic/WTF-romantic: someone who finds romantic attraction confusing, or cannot differentiate between platonic and romantic attraction, or is unsure of whether they experience romantic attraction.

I saw anouther person call Ford aroace and I think I finally.landed on my this bothers me even though I'm aroace.

I think I like Ford best lableless. I could sit here and make a cannon based argument for him being a demi sexual demi romantic demi boy, or I could sit here and explain why he's a cis gay man, or a he/they lesbian, or agender and pan and none of these break the cannon. The only thing that would change the cannon (and only slightly) is if you say he's a trans boy and I only say that becuse God knows the stans dad was transphobic like come on.

I find the fact Ford can be read as nearly anything beautiful it's a testament to how he's really good accidental queer rep. He puts the werid in queer. I find saying he's canonically, definitely one thing, an unsatisfying answer. I think if Ford got tumbler ,he'd go through dozens of lable variants, and he'd try every pronoun he could find. I think that calling him "plansexual" is the best thing the cannon could do because it jesters to his lack of hetronomivity without naming it.

Now I think reading Ford as acearo is fine and dandy my problem is with well really anyone sujesting there is one "correct" set of labbles for him besides Queer.
