The medicine that I have to take for my fibromyalgia was starting to make me gain weight. I couldn't handle it and started taking diet pills to counter the drowsiness and insane appetite.

Right now, I'm trying Hydroxycut Advanced. If they don't work, I'll go back to Stacker 3XPLC pills. I used those in college and I loved them. I just bought the hydroxycut because it was on sale and I'm broke. We'll see what happens.

I'm thinking about posting my intake here. I feel disconnected from the community when all I do is share memes and pictures. I'm lonely.

I've seen quite a few posts about how diet pills are just laxatives and while that's true for most of them, there are so many more side effects that I have never personally seen discussed anywhere, certainly not on the packaging of said pills not anywhere else. So let me give you my experience.

My mother was recently hospitalized for severe anorexia, and we found out that she has been taking a whole bunch of diet pills for years.

Not only did they lead to extreme weight and muscle loss, they also lead to severe dehydration. She also had toxic hepatitis from all the pills, as well chronic inflammation of the stomach lining and the colon. The doctors informed us that chronic inflammation of the digestive system can turn into cancer when it isn't treated. She also had inflamed kidneys and was told she was the kidney function wasn't affected but it was a matter of time.

Diet pill don't just give you the shits, they literally destroy the body bit by bit. The manufacturers of these pills don't care. The magazines that push beauty standards on teenagers don't care.

Fuck diet culture. And fuck any lab who makes these things without warning their customers.

And if you ever think that maybe those pills would be better than experiencing fat phobia (I'm fat believe me I know) I assure you, a healthy fat body is so much better than a thin dying body. Focus on keeping yourself healthy, on a varied diet, on getting the right vitamins and nutrients, on moving your muscles regularly and on keeping your mind as sane and regulated as you can. The size doesn't fucking matter.
