Ariel had always loved to experiment, had for as long as you’d loved her, but of everything she’d sprung on you this was by far your favourite — and not just because of how fond you were of sweet things.
She was stunning: ginger hair let loose out of its usual tight and formal up-do and left to fall around her delicately flushed face and neck, with most of it sprawling out across the pillows in a sort of messy halo; thin lips, wet and pink from the gloss she’d applied that same morning (and marked covered your face with just before she left), curled upwards into a mischievous grin, the smallest hint of her white teeth peeking out as she worried her lower lip between them for a few moments before letting it go once again; an intricate trail of delicious honey, glistening and golden, weaving it’s way down between her pert breasts (themselves decorated with a generous helping of that fluffy cream you’d seen your servants transporting between the kitchens and dining area all week) and meandering to her navel, it’s application clear and deliberate and almost artistic as you took it in; carefully melted chocolate, your favourite sort, seeped into the stretch marks on her stomach, waist and thighs, mapping out a crackling path to the sweetest delicacy of her body — the dripping pussy that was on full display between her slender, spread legs. God, how you longed to bury your face in it and lick her until she couldn’t even remember her own name, until everything from your eyelashes to your throat were drenched in her juices.
But all of that could wait, as your beloved wife had something much more interesting planned and you were never one to turn down such a tantalising dessert… especially not when your time together had been made so sparse after your daughter’s birth, anyway…
—————
You started with her face.
More specifically, you started with the very tip of her nose because whenever you kissed it your wonderful wife broke out in a brief fit of giggles that made your heart soar like you were a kid again. Kissing up the dipping bridge to her forehead and brows, smoothing down her hair and whispering half-laughed, earnest ‘I love you’s and teasing ‘what will I do with you?’s that you couldn’t say with a straight face as Ariel’s shoulders shook and her ocean blue eyes grew damp with silent laughter that was no less contagious for her efforts. Biting your own lips to stop yourself from smiling as you caressed the side of her face, and failing miserably at remaining somewhat stoic when she turned her head and nuzzled her face into the palm of your hand, pecking the very middle and smiling up at you with such warmth you nearly wept. Unable to stop yourself from pressing a chaste kiss to those wet, bitten lips as you both laughed, and wheezed, and told each other to ‘be quiet’ in whispered laughter, and failed miserably when she snorted out a laugh that had you both clinging to each other as you cried, and giggled, and kissed over and over again like the lovesick teenagers you once were.
But you were adults, parents, now. Adults that should probably care about covering their pure white shirts and perfectly ironed trousers in sticky honey, fresh cream, and melted chocolate — but only probably.
Though you never really felt like a fully fledged grownup with your wife, so neither of you cared enough to comment on it as you settled between those smooth legs of hers and started to kiss and lick your way down her body. Lapping up every sweet flavour and jovially teasing her for every moan or gasp or whimper she let out in response to your touch — even jokingly moaning back at her when you licked a dollop of the stuff off of her nipple, which earned you a huffy whisper of your name and a very gentle flick to the shell of your ear.
Some things really never change, and you were glad for it.
Glad that even as you grew older, more tired and serious by necessity, that you were still able to be playful with your partner. Grateful that she allowed you to kiss and lick and suck along the most intimate and sensitive parts of her changed body, her own playful confidence unaffected by the new lines and ridges that spiralled across her waist and thighs, nor the new softness of her stomach — in fact she seemed even more self assured for it. More lively, more experimental, more in love and, in your eyes, more beautiful than ever.
More beautiful than ever before as you lifted those thighs up off of the bed and let them rest comfortably over your shoulders. More beautiful than ever as she hoisted herself up on her elbows and smiled down at you with rose red cheeks and her messy hair obscuring bits of her enchanting eyes. More beautiful than ever as she reached down and entangled one trembling hand in your hair, half playing with it and half tugging you closer as you, with a mouth full of sticky sweet honey and a tongue coated with melted chocolate, leaned forward and finally pressed your lips to her neglected pussy — smelling and tasting her wetness immediately and moaning at how aroused she’d become.
How it felt like the first time all over again, this time with more sweetness, less awkward laughter and no accidental teeth collision. You were too old for that, though just barely, and you liked to think that you were much better at pleasing her (eating her, devouring her) than you were back then.
You knew when to wrap your lips around her clit and how hard to suckle on it to have her bucking up into your mouth. You knew how long to spend alternating between slow, flat stripes and tender, quick kitten licks before thrusting something into her entrance without her having to beg. You knew when to move from one finger to two, and then to three, and what to do with them to have her seeing stars and soaking your face with her cum — when to scissor and thrust and crook, and whereabouts to target those movements to lead to her clamping her thighs around your head as she cries out for you so loudly you fear she might wake the baby as she sleeps in the next room. You knew when to turn your head to one side and kiss her, mouthing words of praise let her know how much she’s loved: beautiful, you taste amazing, I love you, just like that, good girl, I love you so much, keep on going darling, I love you, I love you, I love you.
You knew all of that now, so clearly something had changed — you had changed — and yet you felt exactly as you did all those years ago. Felt like that anxious young man desperate to please his fiancée but unsure of where to start, getting drunk off of her taste and so into the sounds she’s making (those whimpers and moans and trembling cries for you to do something — and you knew you’d do anything she asked in a heartbeat, or sooner) that you already feel unbearably hot and restricted by your clothes despite remaining completely untouched.
So very different and yet so very the same. Older, maybe wiser, but no less in love with the woman who had left behind everything for you and was all the more admirable, stubborn, and beautiful for it. A mother and a mermaid, a wife and woman stronger than any other you’d known, and a queen worth more than her weight in gold — as well as someone so adventurous that she willingly covered her body and your marital bed with things that stain just to have some fun.
You really were the luckiest man in the world…

If you could go back, would you change what happened?
This is something that you often ask yourself.
You think about that fateful day frequently. It was the summer before your first year at Merlin Academy. You had finally convinced your parents, the famed mermaid Ariel and her Prince Eric, to let you go for a swim unsupervised. Being half-mermaid, half-human allowed you to transform back and forth at will. And although life on land was pretty good, your heart always ached to go back to the sea, to feel the cold, salty water as it engulfs you. To race along the reefs, tail swishing back and forth, allowing you to reach speeds far past what your human form can do. To leisurely swim amongst the many species of fish and plants that created the world of the ocean. To go back home.
Your parents had already gone over the rules with you hundreds of time, to the point where you could recite each one of them word for word: “Don’t go past the boundaries,” “Don’t approach any animals you don’t know,” “Don’t go so deep where you can’t see any light,” “Come out at the first sign of bad weather,” and, most importantly, “Do not, under any circumstances, interact with any humans.”
Your mother may be renowned for rescuing a stranger from the unrelenting grasps of the sea—if she hadn’t, you wouldn’t even be here right now—but that was a very rare case. Far more often than not, mermaid interactions with humans out on the waters ended up in the mermaid being tortured, held hostage, or even killed.
You knew the rules by heart, and yet, maybe it was because of your young age, you still broke them. You weren’t really aware of your actions in the moment; one second, you were swimming alongside a pod of dolphins, racing against the currents. The next, you heard loud voices and realized that almost directly above you, yet still a good few dozen meters away, was some sort of ship.
You had ducked down next to a big sponge, peering up apprehensively. It was at that moment you realized that you were far outside of the boundaries set for you by your parents. You should have turned back, should have swam back home, but there was something about the ship, something that intrigued you so much it forced you to stay in place.
A few moments passed, and seeing as there was no commotion, you let your curiosity get the better of you. After all, that ship shouldn’t even have been out there. Slowly, you crept closer and closer to the surface, making sure to remain in the shadows. The noises were becoming clearer; you could make out people’s voices now. But they still weren’t sharp enough for you to understand what they were saying.
Finally, you took the risk and poked your head out of the water near the rear of the ship. The sight before you elicited a sharp gasp, and made you wish you had just gone back when you still had the chance.
Extended from the side of the ship was a long, wooden plank. Standing on one side of it (the safe end), was a man, gagged, blindfolded, and bound. He looked to be no older than forty, with a scraggly beard and ripped clothes.
A pirate.
Another figure emerged, walking to the edge of the deck. Your reflexes caused you to duck down quickly, so only your eyes were barely above the water. This figure was much younger, with dark brown hair parted neatly and angular features twisted into a wicked smile. He donned a maroon blazer that covered a white shirt with an upturned collar. Something in his left hand shined brilliantly under the sun’s bright rays.
The younger figure laughed, but not in the way one would laugh at a funny joke. He unsheathed a cutlass from his side, using it to poke the back of the man on the plank.
“You see, Mr. Jones? This is what happens when you cross the most feared pirate captain in all the lands!” the young figure roared as he yanked off the older man’s blindfold, revealing to him his fate. The fear and panic that spread across the man’s face has been forever etched into your mind, even to this day.
You heard the man beg and plea for mercy, watched as every move he made caused the plank to sway even more violently. The pirate captain simply laughed, his crew along with him. Finally, when you suppose he tired of hearing the man grovel, you watched in terror as the captain gave the man a good kick in the back, finally sending him over the edge.
Suddenly, it was like the world was spinning in slow motion. The man plummeting off the wooden platform, falling, falling, falling. His screams muffled by the cloth around his mouth. Then, all too soon, he made contact with the water with a loud splash.
He sank quickly, devoured by the ocean’s waters within the blink of an eye. Your young, distraught face watched as a few bubbles rose to the surface. Then nothing. All that remained of the man’s existence, all there was to give proof that he had ever even been there, were a few ripples in the water.
That was it.
You were frozen in shock. How–what–why? Your brain could barely string together a comprehensive sentence. All you were sure of was the feeling inside you. You couldn’t quite put it into words, could barely even understand it. But it made your tail ache to move, made you feel as if you simply couldn’t stay in one place any longer.
You dove beneath the surface, frantically swimming towards the direction where you saw the man go under. You kept looking around, searching, but to no avail. You decided to dive deeper, swimming lower and lower until the water around you was near pitch-black. You were growing more and more panicked by the second, because every second you wasted was another second the man grew closer to death.
Finally, you caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye. Hope flaring, you darted towards it, the figure becoming clearer the closer you got.
It was him.
You reached out and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt to prevent him from sinking farther. His eyes were shut and he wasn’t breathing, but you could still hear a heartbeat. There was still time left.
Wrapping your arms around him, you started the difficult journey back to land. Thankfully, you knew of a small island not too far from here. Swimming with the added weight of a fully grown man was incredibly difficult, especially for a young mermaid, but you persisted. After all, this was his life on the line.
You swam as hard as fast as you could, and thankfully, by some blessing from the heavens, found a warm water current going the direction you were. You let it carry you, the rushing stream multiplying your efforts. Finally, after what seemed like hours but must have only been a couple of minutes, you reached the island.
Letting the wave wash you up on shore, you settled the man down on the soft sand the first chance you got. You rolled him to his front, which was quite the endeavor itself. His heartbeat had grown more shallow, but it was still there. There was still hope.
Using the skills your mother had taught you, you started to nurse the man back to health using your melodic voice. Ever since you were young, she had explained to you the gift bestowed upon mermaids, the power of healing through song. She taught you to sing before you could walk, and it was the one thing that you were sure you could do right.
As you sang your strange and melodious tune, it finally occurred to you that you were breaking the most sacred of rules. Not only were you interacting with a stranger, you were coaxing him back to life. Like mother, like daughter, you thought. I suppose healing strangers who were drowning at sea runs in my blood.
The only caveat to your healing powers is that it takes quite some time to have its full effects. You don’t know how long you sat on the beach, but it had been quite some time. You probably would have been there for much longer had it not been for the boom voice that sounded behind you, waking you from your trance of song.
“Well, I’ll be. If it isn’t a mermaid.”
You practically jumped out of your fins as you turned around, startled beyond words. There, towering above you, was the evil pirate captain you saw earlier. He was even younger than you had previously thought. In fact, he couldn’t be much older than you. You wondered for a fleeting moment how a kid like that could command an entire ship full of grown—and scary-looking—men, but decided you have bigger matters at hand to worry about.
A few members of his crew lurked behind the captain, and you could see a small lifeboat docked to the ground near the coastline. Further beyond that, his ship swayed in the ocean waves, dark against the bright horizon.
You followed the pirate’s gaze down to your tail, which was still out. You silently cursed yourself for forgetting to transform back into your human form, being too distracted by saving the man to pay attention to your own safety.
You wanted to yell at the cruel pirate for trying to kill this man. No matter who he was, what he had done, he didn’t deserve to die. At least not like that. But the words got caught in your throat, so while a war raged inside your mind, you were completely quiet on the outside, simply staring up at the man with wide doe eyes.
“You have a lovely voice,” the man said, with a tone that you wouldn’t quite imagine a killer using. He must have overheard me sing earlier, you thought to yourself. “Tell me, little mermaid, who taught you to sing?”
“M-my mother,” you replied weakly, your voice far more meager and small than you wanted it to be. You were still staring up at him, afraid of what he’d do to you.
“Your mother? Well, that’s quite interesting.” The captain raised his left hand to scratch at his chin, which is when you realized that it wasn’t a hand at all. Instead of a hand was a curved metal hook, with a sharp point gleaming at the end. So that must be the shiny thing I saw earlier, you thought.
“Oh, where are my manners?” laughed the pirate abruptly. “My name is Captain James Hook, leader of the Jolly Roger. And you are?”
You blinked, almost forgetting your own name. If it were a less tense moment than this, you would have laughed at the fact that his name is rather befitting for him. “Y/N,” you respond.
“Y/N…Now, where have I heard that name before?” He tapped his chin with his hook again.
“Sir, that’s the name of Princess Ariel’s daughter,” one of the big, meaty pirates behind him answered in a gruff voice.
“That’s right!” Hook exclaimed. “You’re the mermaid’s daughter. You know, rumor has it you’ll be joining me at Merlin’s Academy in the fall, is that right?”
For some reason, your voice seemed to not work anymore, so you settled for nodding. Join him? you pondered. You didn’t know that he was also a student at the school you were planning to attend.
Hook started pacing along the beach, arms crossed with his hooked hand extended, deep in thought. You watched him, fear growing by the second. A sly smirk spread across his face, which only served to fuel the flames of your worry.
“You know, you directly defied my command by saving that man,” he started. Slowly. Deliberately. Choosing every word precisely and carefully, like a shark circling its prey. “Do you even know why I made him walk the plank?” You shook your head no, the panic in you reaching record heights.
“That man”—he vaguely gestures towards the unconscious body laying on the beach with his hook—“stole an entire week’s worth of rations from my ship. An entire week’s worth of food and rum for an entire crew. Had he gotten away with it, we likely would have starved to death out at sea. Does he seem so innocent now, little mermaid? So worth saving?”
Again, you shook your head no. Although you agreed he definitely wasn’t an innocent man, you still didn’t see making him walk the plank a justifiable punishment. Despite your thoughts, you kept your mouth shut. Angering the captain further was not going to do you any good.
“Now, if anyone else had done something like this, I wouldn’t hesitate to cut their head right off,” Hook said menacingly, and with a swish, unsheathed his sword once again. You flinched—hard—and scrambled to back away from him.
Hook took note of this, and, sheathing his sword, crouched down to get on the same level as you. “But don’t worry, little mermaid. I won’t hurt you. You see, you’ve piqued my interest. Plus, it would do me no favors to have a little girl’s blood on my hands.”
You let out a breath you hadn’t even realized you were holding. So he’s not going to kill me, right?
“But, alas, you can’t leave unpunished, now, can you?” he added. Your eyes grew impossibly wider, your entire body shaking in fear. This was it. He was going to kill you, or do something equally worse.
“I demand”—you already felt a tear slip down your cheek—“that you write to me for the remainder of the summer.”
Wait, what?
“W-write?” you asked in disbelief. “As in…”
“Letters,” Hook finished for you. “Write me letters. I’ll give you the mailing address of the Jolly Roger. Write me everyday, and I’ll promise I’ll write you back whenever we dock. How does that sound?”
“O-okay,” you reply, still taken aback by the peculiar, and far more lenient than you’d expected, request. That was all you had to do? Write letters? As punishment for saving the life of someone he’d ordered to die? You must be dreaming.
“Oh, and,” Hook said, voice lowered as he leaned in close to you, until he was just a hair’s breadth away from your ear. You could feel his warm breath on your skin, his alluring scent of salty winds and something richer, deeper, filling your lungs. “I look forward to seeing you in the fall. Don’t forget me, my little mermaid.”
With that, he stood up, smoothing out the lines on his pants. “You wouldn’t happen to need a ride back home, would you, love?”
You shook your head no, too terrified of him changing his mind to spend another moment in his presence. You glanced back at the man lying behind you, still unconscious. “W-what about him? What will you do with him?” you managed to choke out, somehow finding your voice again.
Hook pondered this for a long minute, before finally answering, “He can live.” You let out a shaky breath. “But only because of you, little mermaid. And only this time. You go against my wishes again, and trust me, your punishment will be far more severe.”
And with that, he went back to his ship and sailed away.
You still muse about that day, thinking how different things would have been if you had changed just one little thing.
You kept your promise of writing him letters, too afraid to know what would happen when you had to inevitably face him in the fall to break it. At first, they started out simple. Ordinary recounts of your day, your favorite things, what you liked to do. As the weeks passed, you started writing more personal letters. How you felt about certain things or certain people, including your parents. You never spoke a word of that fateful day to them, knowing that you’d be grounded for life and forbidden from swimming ever again if they caught even a whiff of the danger you had put yourself in.
Hook kept his promise, too. He wrote you back, although it was far less frequent than your letters. Even though he kept his responses short and concise, you always ended up hearing his voice in your head as you read his notes. You soon found yourself checking your mailbox daily, even getting to know the mailman rather well. The rush of dopamine you got every time you opened it to find a letter awaiting you was unmatched; you would always run upstairs to your room, lock the door, and pour over the note. Reading every line, every word over and over again, committing them to memory.
You don’t know why you enjoyed these little letters so much. Maybe it was the thrill of having a secret that no one else knew of, or the absence of your usual loneliness every time you were reminded that somewhere out there, across the seas, was someone awaiting your letters, reading them, and writing back to you. Whatever it was, your heart started to form an emotional attachment to him without you even realizing it.
Unbeknownst to you, that had been his exact plan all along.

It’s safe to say that once you started school at Merlin Academy, Hook’s—or James’s, as he insisted on you calling him—grip on you only grew. Things started out pretty normal: light conversations in class and stolen looks exchanged across the hall, mostly initiated by him. After the first few weeks passed, things between you two only grew. Secret meetings during lunch hours, rendezvous after school, and small gifts exchanged between the two of you. From there, it became brushing your hands together whenever you passed by each other, soft pecks on the cheek or forehead where there were prying eyes, and more passionate kisses when the two of you finally found time to be alone.
Truth be told, you don’t really know what you two are now. Normally, you would consider two people that partake in such actions to be courting, and you kind of assume you are. But James has never said anything about a relationship to you, and in all honesty, you’re too afraid to ask him. You feel terribly confused at his intentions towards you; on the one hand, he approaches you every day without fail, even if you try to ignore him or when your schedules don’t match up. Somehow, he always finds a way. On the other hand, he never asked you to be his lover, never even vaguely mentioned anything of the sorts. So, you decided, with a heavy heart, to not be too confident and consider yourself his partner. And unfortunately, that meant that he wasn’t yours, either.
Really, you never meant to grow so involved with the bastard pirate that threatened to kill you on the beach that day. But for some strange reason, instead of treating you coldly like he did everyone else, especially the other hero kids, he was softer with you. Considerate, even. You had half-expected him to want nothing to do with you after your first few interactions, but he kept seeking you out. You often opened your locker to a note inside, or entered your dorm to find a letter slipped beneath the door.
Today was one of those days. You had gotten a note telling you to wait for him in your usual place in the evening, after classes. So here you are, waiting, staring at the water fountain in the courtyard. You’ve always been transfixed by the way the water spurts out the center and splashes all around. It seems that whenever you’re alone with your thoughts, they always end up back to that fateful day you met James, and everything that’s happened since.
“Wait for me long, my little mermaid?” a deep voice whispers in your ear from behind. You jump only a little, far more used to James sneaking up on you now than you used to be. For some reason, it seems he loves to startle you by wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you in close from behind, or speaking softly in your ear.
You twirl around, a delighted expression on your face, although you try to mask it with a feigned annoyance. “And if I say I did?”
“Well then, I’d have to find a way to make it up to you then, wouldn’t I, darling?” he purrs, using his hook to spin you around in his arms so you’re face-to-face. His lips make his way to yours, pulling you in for a slow, sensual kiss. You wrap your arms around his neck, bringing his head closer to yours, not able to get enough of his touch.
The feeling of his skin against yours ignites something in you, and you find your mouth opening to give him more access as a soft whimper escapes your lips. One hand reaches into his hair, tugging at it gently from the base of his head, while the other one trails down the front of his shirt.
James leans into you even further, your bodies flush against each other now, as he deepens the kiss. You find yourself leaning against the edge of the water fountain, the cool sprinkles providing a welcomed contrast to your heating-up bodies.
Once you’ve completely lost your breath, you pull away just slightly, a love-drunk smile on your face. “You had a request for me?” you whisper, panting, eyes full of adoration for the man you were interlocked with.
James breaks into a grin. A genuine one, not one of the smirks he flashes to uphold his patented suave demeanor. “Ah, yes, how could I forget, my love?”
He pulls further away to give you two enough room to breathe, yet keeping his good hand on the small of your back. “I was reminded today that it's been quite some time since I’ve heard your voice, my little mermaid.”
You give a little smile, deciding to mess with him a bit. “Whatever do you mean? You hear my voice every day. I mean, you’re even hearing it right now.”
James cocks his head to the side and raises a single eyebrow, clearly aware of your antics. “Your other voice, love.”
You giggle. “Fine, all right. Only for you,” you say, giving him a peck on the nose.
You sit down on the ledge of the fountain, turning back to stare at the water again. Although it has been a long time since you stretched your tail and went for a swim, simply seeing the rushing water soothes you. It isn’t quite like being immersed in it, but it still gives you some semblance of comfort.
You reach into the pool at the bottom, letting the cool water rush along your fingertips as you inhale a deep breath. Through your mermaid abilities, your voice twists into an otherworldly song, filling the space with a mellifluous sound.
James takes a place on the ledge next to you, reaching into the water to hold your submerged hand. You don’t really feel it, too transfixed on the rushing waves. You don’t see the way James gazes at you, like you’re his entire world. The softness, the tenderness in his eyes, which he reserves for you only. He looks at you not as if you’re his sun, something too bright to ever stare directly at, something violent and explosive and harmful, but as if you’re his moon.
As if you’re the figure he watches every night before he closes his eyes, and the one he wishes to see again when he wakes up. As if you’re the only thing he notices every time the darkness envelops him, your presence never falling off the pedestal he places it on in his mind. Never losing its worth. He looks at you, your soft glow and mesmerizing shimmer, as if you’re the only thing filling up the night sky. The stars and constellations pale in comparison to you, especially on your best nights, when you shine so magnificently.
You are the moon, and he is the tide of the ocean, constantly being pulled in by you. Never being able to escape the grasp you have on him, the grasp you are so blissfully unaware of. He stares at you in awe and wonder, bathing in your gorgeous light, so close yet always so far away. Sitting all alone against the dark backdrop of the evening sky, waiting for him to come back to you. And without reason, you always disappear. Always leaving him wanting more, waiting till the moment he can bathe in your presence again.
As you sing, the tide gets pulled in by the gravity of the moon. Your lyrical voice bounces off the stone walls, surrounding you both, just as the moonlight surrounds the waves on that mystical night.
But the moonlight is only a reflection of the sun’s glow, is it not? When daylight comes, the moon will pull away from the waves, its absence in the sky all but forgotten in the sun’s presence. And as dawn breaks, so too will the pull between the moon and ocean.

Yandere Genderbend Ariel x Reader
Well, what were you supposed to say when you saw some girl come out of the water singing with a shell on her neck? But for your parents, it was perfect grounds to leave you with a forced 'apology gift' of being the head planner for their wedding ceremony. You felt it was ironic that was your 'punishment' when your the king and queen spent a whole day with your sister being hypnotized and hadn’t noticed–but whatever. You didn’t mind and in the end, Erica admitted she never blamed you. You’d do this not only to get your parents off your back but for your sister even if her groom was a hopeless case.
“No Arrel! Don’t put that in your mouth!“
“But it looks just like–”
“It doesn’t belong there! Spit. It. Out.”
Perhaps this was why they didn’t bother, they knew you’d have a hard time educating the merprince. Since his negotiated stay for the wedding and there on a switch occurred: while the prince is on land the princess navigates the sea. It was Triton’s final stipulation, her only way to test and know the woman meant to take away her darling boy.
“How is he fairing?”
“Your Highness…he’s got a ways to go…”
You lifted your shoulders up as you moved your hands like a seesaw. Facing the magical reflection of the Queen of Atlantica, who twirled her trident and stroked her braid.
“Ah I know that tone…my Arrel is so much like his father…a little scatterbrained, yes but his heart was always in the right place.”
Surrounded by smile lines she reminisced with a sad fondness. You admired the ruler, even if she might’ve hated your family in the beginning. But just as any human would she cared about family and that was more uniting than anything.
“Speaking of, how’s my sister? Not giving you too much trouble I hope?”
Triton chuckled, “Oh no she’s been a dream and a fast learner too!”
“Ah, that's good.”
“She says she misses you.”
You playfully scoffed, ”That softy, of course, she’d say that.”
Talking late into the night, you both exchanged the highlights of your family’s adventures. Snickering to one another as you laugh at their failures, playfully jesting with one another about them. But the night was drawing to a close and with yawns from you, you moved to make your departure.
“Oh (Y/n), before you go–I have a bit of advice for you when training Arrel?”
“Oh?”
____________________________________________________
“Alright, Arrel we’re going to try something a little different today.”
“Uughhhh! Is this new thing going to be how I’m supposed to move these feet!? All day these tu-ders have been making me use them and I’m just tired of it!”
“Oh? That’s too bad, we were going to walk into town–”
“LET’S GO!”
Hopping giddily on the feet he claimed to exhaust minutes ago, he followed you to the prepared carriage ready to take you both into town. Bouncing his knees and smashing his face into the window to look at the surrounding greenery. Tapping twice at the wood above you the carriage rolled to a stop just outside the town. The redhead tilted his head at you following eagerly as you stepped out and waved the carriage off.
“Today you’re going to explore the town for yourself.”
“Myself? Like I pick where we walk!?”
“Yes, yes I’m just here if you have any questions. So where first princey?”
He excitedly intertwined his hand with yours before darting off in a clumsy run. Dashing through the marketplace as he searched for a specific stall. When he found it he released you stopping abruptly, naturally leaving you to smash into his back. Steadying yourself you walked beside him as he excitedly smiled at the stand.
“I want those things!”
“Things? Do you mean the apples?”
“Ah-pulls? Is that the red rocks?”
“They’re fruit, and their called–A-pples.”
“Aaaahhhh-pulls?”
Paying for the fruit would be the first of Arrel’s many souvenirs that he gained throughout his field trip. The lesson was more engaging and fruitful than anything you had tried before. Exercising new vocabulary and practicing the right platitudes when speaking with others, Arrel was learning so much. Watching the mer-prince’s mind racing with excitement as he truly came to learn what life as a human was like. You could understand why Erica fell so fast.
“Ah the uhm–sun, is settling, right?”
“Close enough. We’re allowed to be out a little bit longer if you want but if you’re tired–”
“Hmmm, I want to go to one last place! Is that okay (Y/n)? “Yup but where do you want to go?”
“I can’t think of the word uh just come with me!”
Once again weaving your fingers with his own he pulled you away from the populated streets of the town. Taking you to a place that sparked a forlorn nostalgia in its discovery. The grotto. As you helped Arrel who was trying to recall the actions of Erica to send you out on the boat, you let the memories of the place run wild.
“Come on (Y/n)! I found this cool place where I can be the captain!”
“Okay okay! Wait for me *huff huff* I have tiny legs.”
Just like before you let eager hands take the handles of the paddles from you, in order to enjoy the way the reflecting light shines in their eyes. Letting you sit back to see the beauty in their dreams flash in their eyes.
Arrel was no different than Erica.
Beautifully smiling as your boat floats into the blue lagoon. It was a gem, that no doubt was the catalyst of many romances. Drifting from under the rising moon to the roof of the willow tree’s branches, entering a world of flora and fauna. Firefly lights illuminated the space giving a magical glow to space; you’d be concerned if you didn’t fall in love.
“...Isn’t it fantastic? Those eels got in the way last time but now…this is perfect!”
Arrel mumbled to himself to which you tilted your head.
“Uhm Arrel wouldn’t it really be perfect if you were back here, with Erica?”
“...Well yeah…but I don’t know it feels right like back then!”
“Arrel…is this feeling awe?”
"Awww?"
“Awe. Like you’re enamored with nature and feel of this place.”
“Mmmh that sounds right!”
“But do you realize how that sounds when–ugh forget it you probably don’t even notice anyway.”
You quieted after that and enjoyed the orchestra of croaking frogs and crickeys. Gingerly reclaiming the paddles when Arrelbegan to dangerously slump against the boat. With great coaxing, you returned to the entrance of the lagoon and scheduled for the carriage ride home.
This would be the first of many new adventures into the town. Triton encouraged a more rewarding type of learning for his son whose attention was short for study but active for his curiosity. And it had become quite the brag to have the prince whine through his other lessons to attend your own. So in between you’re days spent organizing the intricacies of the wedding, you were taking Arrel into the town. On particularly busy days you did try assigning Grimsey to be his chaperone but the prince wouldn’t budge; instead, he spend his day clinging to your leg. Sullying your pant leg with his tears he refused to commit to his outings if you weren’t the one guiding him.
Other than that little hiccup, it was smooth sailing. Magically calling Triton as you both gushed about your respective students. As the days counted by the glorious day of the wedding was surging forth and you along with everyone else were on cloud 9.
It would be a glorious day.
____________________________________________
The news came as quick as a light shower. Lightly washing over the freshly painted smile on your face. Leaving an incredulous daze to take place as you could only tentatively look at the greyed sky.
“W-what?!”
“Erica…is dead.”
Perhaps it was because you hadn’t seen the body. Maybe that was why you didn’t immediately cry; you didn’t believe it. The princess–-your sister was supposed to return today. Return to her post on land to prepare for the big day. To whine in your ear about all her worries and woes as you fitted her gown for the overeating she most definitely did while in Atlantica. She and Arrel would have been squealing and twirling one another as though they’d been apart for years.
They ruled it an accident. Pure coincidence that the second she had been given her legs and ran to your parents she wobbled, clutched at her chest, and collapsed. A heart failure…an underlying condition she must have been secretly stoking with her hunger for adrenaline. A horrible match really.
The king and queen weren’t the only ones to witness the sight, Arrel was there as well. Having slipped past an adamantly guarding Grimsey to hug his beloved fiancee. Slowing his run when he found that her reaching out to him was not in welcome but in a reluctant farewell. Triton looking horrified from the safety of the sea, not only witnessed the fragility of humans firsthand but the terror it brought her baby boy.
Both kingdoms were thrown in disarray. The ones on land were rightfully devastated as the white decor became black with mourning. Those in the water did their own preparations longing not only for the loss of a new friend but of the uncertainty this meant. War? Forever severed ties between kingdoms? Atonement? Nothing was set in stone, even the status of Prince Arrel was a tempest gray. So overcome with grief he refused his mother and brothers when they begged him to come home.
“No…I won’t….not when…she’s gone.”
Your parents, too consumed in their own grief and the state of the kingdom to give nothing but tearful remarks to the prince. So it was up to you. Up to you to chaperone the fish out of the water with a new lesson. A grim one. All about continuing on if only in reverence of those beyond.
“Do…you not have funerals in Atlantica?”
“Barely…we live…long…healty lives…”
You dryly laughed, looking past your veil at the lowering coffin.
“Heh, guess we just aren’t meant to last that long.”
Arrel looked at you noting the salted water streaming down your face and the way your lips curved the opposite of their usual state. He did what he saw others do: wrapping his arms around you, subconsciously curling into the warmth you provided.
Living humans were so much warmer.
He found that to be true when he awoke in the same position behind you in Erica’s bed. You couldn’t sleep, trudging through the halls into her room.  Grazing your fingers along the untouched relics of her past. Shining brightly under the stream of the moonlight’s beams was Erica’s bed. So undisturbed it made you hesitate to ruin it even in your tired state. But in your mind was the memory of a younger Erica reaching out to you from her bed as she looked longingly at the sea.
“(Y/n), come come. I’m always happy to have you in bed with me. Cozy up with your big sis every once in a while…”
So with her voice and smile replaying in your clouded mind you curled into her bed. Shuffling under her comforter, smelling the faint remnants of her presence within the sheets. Unshed tears collected in your lashes as you succumbed to much-needed sleep. Completely unaware of the prince with a similar yearning. Tired and consumed with grief he saw no problem with shoving his nose into the crook of your neck as he curled himself around you.
You smelt nice.
Not the same as Erica but comforting all the same.
He’d spend many nights completing this ritual. Having waking moments that led to joining you in Erica’s bed. Waking together with the comfort of one another's heat before silently encouraging one another to eat. Even when you no longer found yourself needing to go to Erica’s room, Arrel still found himself waking up beside you.
It didn’t feel right not to at this point.
______________________________________________
As your debilitating depression became something manageable you found yourself able to offer your guidance to the rest of the castle. Becoming a figurehead as the only remaining heir and one of the few able to look logically through this season in the kingdom.
“(Y/n)...my baby…we worry that with this incident the kingdom has fallen behind in their affairs…”
“Truthfully we’d rather devastate ourselves than put you in this position–”
“Right, this is only if it’s alright with you…if you’d even consider it. Its a big responsibility–”
“Mother Father, please. Tell me what does the kingdom need?”
Letting out a shaky sigh she continued, “With this–no doubt severed connection with the sea kingdom it's best that we start looking to wed suitors with nearby kingdoms…”
You nodded. It was expected—that the next course of action was to reach for security. Even with the contact established for Triton attempting to speak with a distraught Arrel it wasn’t a situation to debate. Already having to dissuade the misinformed conspirators that were insistent that it was the mer-population fault along with the general instability of the kingdom. You were prepared for this, as you’d been raised to.
“I will begin looking at suitors two days from now.”
“S-so soon?!”
“We might as well move fast while all the preparations for a wedding remain. Not to mention this is for the kingdom, right your Highnesses?”
“Y-yes!”
“T-thank you, (Y/n)! We’ll begin preparing right away!”
When you exited the room you released a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Swallowing a silent plea you deeply inhaled and exhaled, holding your head high as you made your way through the castle. There was much to be done and no one needed a moping leader.
Unbeknownst you a certain bird was intently listening through an open window.
_______________________________________________________
When the day came, you fought the turmoil in your tummy as you let yourself be dolled up. Settling in the comfort of the garden for the suitors to give their impressionable first meeting. At the sound of the bell, the speed dates interviews would begin. With cups full of tea you would let various royal suitors talk you up about their many ventures. After a day full of bragging and insincere condolences as they attempted to capture you’re attention. Taking note of the least hated potentials, you sighed but nodded for the maid to call in the last suitor. Keeping your eyes on the cold ceramic you prepared yourself for the final interview.
“You look…tired.”
Your eyes snapped up to meet the sullen blues of a familiar redhead. Dressed in the pink drawstring blouse and matching pants, he looked the most put together since the funeral.
“...Arrel?”
“Do we have to stay at this…venue?”
Visibly trying the word on his tongue he smiled at you. Hand outstretched to you with the eyes of a mature prince. Torn between familiarity and proper etiquette you take his hand. Letting him lead you through your own castle to the entrance where a carriage was waiting. Helping you in first, you let Arrel tap the roof of the carriage starting an unknown route.
You didn’t bother speaking, finding that more was understood when nothing was said at all. Resting into the cushion of the seat you barely registered the familiar buildings and stalls being passed by. Sitting up to look at the waving citizens of the town.
“Are we-?”
You didn’t bother finishing, turning to look at Arrel who was lightly smiling as he looked out the opposite window.
When the carriage stopped it was at the man-marked dock of the blue lagoon. A simple wooden boat tied and awaiting you and Arrel as its passengers. Once again hand-in-hand he pulled you along seating you in the boat before pushing away. Discretely making eye contact with the coachman and guard who briefly tilted their hat to you; you assured that this was planned.
He paddled efficiently moving past the light current of the water to re-enter the willow’s cove. The moon was far from full instead the light was that of a small crescent. Letting firefly light bring dramatic shadows to his otherwise bright face. His darkened eyes remained on you, for the most part, harvesting an intensity unfamiliar to you. It kept you quiet for the most part, waiting until he spoke.
“My Father died, prematurely too.”
“...I’m sorry?”
“It was a human ship, you know. What you’d call Pie-rats?”
“Pirates.”
“Right. Well, they were the ones who killed him. He was…supposed to live longer.”
He was looking into the murky waters below, unglowing, and seemingly blacker than the night sky. The look was distant and foreboding, a widened terror to them that reminded you of a fear you would have felt during the news of a lost-at-sea Erica. You spoke if only to bring him back but it didn’t seem to sway him.
“Arrel.”
“But it's not like all humans are bad…heck I’m sure I’d be just as bad if nature hated me the same way!”
“E-excuse me?”
“Don’t you know that (Y/n)?”
He looked to you this time. Turning away from the edge of the boat directly to you, face distorted in a way you couldn’t behold. The darkness of nature made it worse only giving you a glimpse of the grieved madness swirling in his eyes—the blueness exchanged for a black substitute unmoving from you as he spoke.
“I’m sure humans were supposed to live as long as us mermaids, you know? B-but if you look at Erica and anyone else in that town’s graveyard it's obvious that's just the same case for you!”
“Arrel!”
Something about how he said her name, rubbed you the wrong way. Eager to stop, what had to be a mental breakdown, you leaned forward gripping the collar of his shirt. Pulling him close to your face as you tried to search his eyes.
“Arel stop it! D-don’t try to compare our lifespans to yours…this is just what you sign up for when you decide to love a human…”
You released him in order to nurse the burning in your eyes. Sinking back into your seat you used your sleeves, scolding yourself in the darkness. Fleeting lights of the fireflies hardly let you see your own sleeves, as you sniveled. So focused on yourself it didn’t matter at the time that he smiled into his hand before giving a muffled dry laugh.
“I guess you’re right… it's my fault for falling in love with a human right? Heh, heh then if Its all my fault I should fix it right?”
“W-what?!”
“Right (Y/n)?! I’m going to fix it! You’ll let me won’t you!?”
“W-wait?! W-what!?”
He moved fast, stabilizing himself on the sides of the boat. Moving closer to you until you could feel the boat shake with its weight. Letting his knee stabilize himself in between your legs as he leaned in close. Nose and breath fanning against you’re own it scared you even more that you couldn’t see his face.
“I know where the sea wizard’s lair is and he has loads of knick-knacks for keeping humans alive.”
“H-hold on–?”
“I could even turn you into a mermaid! Per-man–ent-ly!”
“Ar-”
“Or-? I could turn everyone into a mermaid then you’d have to live longer right?”
“Arrel!”
You tried to push him away stopping when the boat shook too much, making you tuck your arms against your person as he moved his hands to your seat. He tucked his head against your head, nuzzling into you as he wrapped his arms around you. Practically uncaring of the instability of the boat.
“You’ll pick me.”
He let his lips graze along your ear. Shuddering you fruitlessly attempted to move, failing.
“What?!”
“To marry. You’re going to marry me. I’ll be keeping you alive one way or another.”
“Arrel, you can’t–”
“I will and if that means making you like me that’s fine….Otherwise, I’ll just do it to everyone too! Then you can live forever like me!”

Merlin Academy wasn't necessarily know for it's nearby beaches. But being who you were, you always went the extra mile to go to one far off from Merlin Academy. Far off from any town, or people in general. It was always just you.
Your parents were not exactly a 'normal' relationship, so you weren't exactly the most normal son. Your mother was a mermaid, and your father was human. So what did that make you? Nothing too special. It wasn't like you could exactly call yourself a merman, you didn't have a fish tail and weren't capable of transforming or anything like that. But you did inherent something that made you different.
----
At the one beach you could ever find the seashore was filled with large and dark rocks. Heavy waves crashed against them, sending white foam everywhere that glistened in the rising moonlight. The sky turned darker as the streaks of orange and pink faded away from the remaining sunlight, being replaced with purple hues instead. The moonlight refleceted silver on the rippling waves and against the shiny sand. The sound of the waves was calming, echoing in your ears as you breathed in the beachy smell of your surroundings. The cool breeze softly hitting against your face as you smiled.
The first stars began to appear, twinkling above the world.
This was really where you felt most at home. The place you went when the real world became too much for you.
You loved Merlin Academy but you never felt like you could relate to anyone. Everyone had their own dreams and ambitions but you never knew what you wanted to do. What you did know was that the ocean called you. But you were always just out of reach. It was like you were meant to be out there but your legs kept you on the earth's ground.
But while you were enjoying the beauty of the ocean, it seemed someone else had come by. You didn't notice until they hopped over a jagged rock and landed on their feet next to you.
"And what do you think you're doing on my shore?"
You turn eyes widened in surprise at the sudden new person beside you until you recognized who it was. It was none other than James, better known as 'Captian Hook'.
Like anyone, you were not a fan of the VKs. They were always mean and full of themselves so you usually steered clear of them. But you didn't really know much of Hook. He was a pirate and he was from Neverland. That was pretty much it. You only ever saw him as another one of Uliana's henchmen so you never gave him too much of a thought.
"Your shore?" You repeat, furrowing your brows at his very bold claim to the beach.
"Mhm."
You so desperately wished he'd go away. You were very much enjoying your time alone and you had a feeling Hook of all people wasn't going to be the best company, "Right. I don't think you can own a shore."
"Course' I can. I'm a pirate. I own what I want." He smirks, resting his arm on your shoulder, causing you to suppress an eye roll.
You shrug his arm off of you, "You were a pirate in Neverland. I don't recall you sailing any of these seas." You say, crossing your arms over your chest.
"Well that's the great thing about being a pirate, darling. It doesn't matter where I am, if I want it, I take it." He stands proudly, running his fingers through his hair as he appreciates the view of your surroundings, "And I like this beach, so it's mine." He declares once again.
As appealing as it sounded to just be able to claim a beach or a sea as your own, you clearly weren't convinced, "I don't think that's how that works."
"Course' the little prince of the sea thinks that way," Hook replies, leaning his hip against one of the rocks.
"What?"
"Aren't you the kid of some mermaid queen? Half merman or something." He raised a brow.
You look away, "Technically. I wouldn't really call myself a merman though."
Hook laughed mockingly at your response, "Don't tell me you're the son of a mermaid and you came out as a borin human?" He laughed some more, eyeing you with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes, "No. I can do other things." You huff.
"Is that right, prince? Like what?" He asked, his stupid mocking grin never leaving his face.
Instead of saying anything, you stayed silent for a moment. And then you held a finger up and Hook's grin fell into a skeptical look. Well, more like confused as to what you were doing.
But then with one wave of your finger, the water from the waves that was puddled under your feet suddenly started to rise. Bubbles of water floated into the air and you decided to be a little bit of a show off and shape them into butterflies, making the mock butterflies flap their water wings.
A smile creeps onto your face as you see Hook's eyebrows rise in surprise, like it was the last thing he expected to see.
"So you got some kinda water magic?" He asked, observing the water butterflies and trying to poke at one with his hook, but his hook just passed straight through it.
"Yep." You confirmed, making the butterflies circle around as they danced through the moonlight, reflecting off of each other and mimicking a glowing effect.
You suddenly put your hand back down and the water collapsed from the air back to the floor. One of them splashing into Hook's face, making his entire face scrunch as it got soaked.
"Oops." You say, but it was pretty obvious that it wasn't an accident.
Hook did not seem amused by the water to his face. He used his hand to wipe the water off of his skin and push his now wet hair from sticking into his forehead. He then looked back at you, giving an unread about expression.
"Have you thought of ever being a pirate?" He suddenly asked.
You let out a dry laugh before realizing he was serious, "No. Of course not."
He then took a step closer to you, invading your personal space. "A pretty boy with powers like that might make a fine addition to my crew, yeah?" He smirked, gently poking the tip of his hook onto your chest and gently dragging it down to your stomach suggestively, making a shiver shoot up your spine.
"Are you serious?" You push his hook off of you, "No offense but I don't take it that you'd be a great captian." You say, smirking slightly at the jab.
He then draped an arm over your shoulder, he clearly had no sense of personal space which made your heart beat faster, "Well I s'pose there's only one way for you to find that out." He grinned, "You'd love it, ya know? Being out at sea all the time, doing whatever you want whenever you want, causing chaos. It's quite the charming life."
"As nice as it sounds to be out at sea all the time, I don't think I'd say causing chaos is charming." You raise a brow, not pulling away from him this time and just accepting his physical touch. Not that you hated the physical touch, it just felt a little intimidating at first. But something about Hook felt a little more harmless than he wanted to seem. Of course he wasn't totally harmless, you've seen just how dangerous he was. But he just wasn't as mean and awful as you took him for at first.
"You'll grow to like it."
You pause and think for a moment, "How about, if you can convince me by the end of the year, I'll join your crew for the summer and if I like it, I'll join for good." You propose.
"Deal. But you have to use your weird mermaid magic for the crew and how I tell you to." He adds on, holding his hand out for you to shake on it.
You think for a moment before taking his hand and shaking it.
After you two shook on it, he rugged on your hand before letting go, pulling you closer and grabbing you by the waist, "And maybe if you try hard enough you can get some extra benefits on my ship." He smirks.
"Gosh, you are such an awful flirt." You roll your eyes but couldn't hold back the smile from his flirtatious attitude.
"Whatever, you're just too embarrassed to admit you were charmed the moment you saw me." He said confident, letting go of you and dramatically flipping his fingers in his hair.
You laugh, using your magic to spalsh another small orb of water at him, effectively messing up his hair again.
His angry expression was worth it and for the rest of the night you two sat on the shore with back and forth bickering with the occasional flirtatious comment.
It was nice to be around someone who loved the sea as much as you did.

bring me to life - p.e
Tumblr media
summary: when ursula possesses y/n to make her try and trap ariel, eric knows somethings off.
prince eric x reader
a/n: this is so humbling but he’s actually the finest man i’ve ever seen
the day ariel sacrificed her voice for legs, it was bound to go to hell. the only thing she wanted in life was to be with the humans, sick of being confined to the ocean. the deal she made with ursula is that she needed approval from the royals in three days. she begged to understand their world, and after she met y/n and eric, she fell in love with the above world.
they were the most gracious and accepting people on the island. they strolled around with her, y/n helping her get dressed and ready, and eric showing her his collections. she never knew that the love from land was so strong until she spent the days with them.
eric glowed around y/n, ariel noticing the bright beam on his face when she came around. he talked about her like an angel, or someone from another perfect universe. ariel knew the look in his eyes, the one of full of mesmerize. ariel quickly found out that it was very mutual, y/n being so fond of eric. her love for him was stronger than the waves, and ariel knew it.
toward the end of the second day, y/n was running around the castle with eric, fooling around with ariel before being scolded by grimsby. most nights, y/n and eric go to bed together, falling asleep as he holds her. tonight was different. the air was stiff, making y/n’s anxiety peak. she decided to take a walk down to the beach to hear the waves and see the water, hopefully calming her down. the ocean was calm from the night winds, but as she sat on the rocks, it started getting harsher. the wind was blowing her hair around, as well as causing the waves to crash around her.
ursula knew the exact weak point in eric and in ariel. meeting y/n and taking her as a friend made her a perfect target to destroy ariel’s life. for eric, y/n’s the most loved. every part of her and her mind is completely admired by eric. ursula knows they’ll listen to y/n, doubting themselves too much. so, if she could convince y/n that ariel isn’t good enough, maybe she had a shot.
“oh, child,” the eerie voice rolls through the water, making y/n move her head around trying to spot it. “a sleepless night?”
“w-who are you?” she questions, stepping away from the rock, leaving only her feet in the wet sand. she’s fully alarmed by the sight in front of her. she’s never seen something like this, leaving cold chills down her spine.
“you’ve never heard of the sea witch?” y/n nervously shakes her head naively. “it means you should listen to me, sweetheart.”
y/n’s hands remain at her side, playing with the seams of her dress. her breathing deepens, coming out more sharp in panic of the creature in front of her.
“that little ariel,” ursula begins. “is no good for this world. and i need your help to bring her back to me.”
“i can’t,” y/n whispers as she walks back further. “i can’t help you.”
“i know you can,” ursula puts her hand out and y/n cringes at the noises of her tentacles on the sand.
the sounds of y/n’s quick breaths and the swishing of ursula’s many arms has become the only thing on the beach. “n-no, no,” y/n demands. “i won’t do this.”
“fine, then!” ursula sighs. as y/n attempts to run away, hurrying out of ursula’s sight, her tentacles grip onto her sides, pulling her closer. y/n tries to yank them off, but they stick to her dress and her skin like hot glue. the air gets tighter around her, using every ounce of energy to escape the grasp of the sea witch. “i’ll just have to make you.”
the words makes y/n’s mind freeze, placing horror into her mind. she thinks about eric, wishing he were here to save her. it was too late, he was out cold in their bed, where they should be together. she knew no one was coming to save her. before she knew it, ursula cracked open a bottle, the smokey substance inside fading into y/n as she breathed it in. her irises flicked between hues of purple from ursula’s spell before returning back to the normal color. ursula knew she must leave, so y/n was left on the sand, marks on her dress as she lay on the cold ground of the beach, unconscious.
eric wakes in the morning early, prepared to explore more with y/n and collect more treasures. he rolls over to place his hand on her, but it only sinks down and he is confronted with the empty bed sheets. he immediately gets up, putting on the normal clothes as he heads downstairs to look for his love.
“grimsby!” he shouts. “have you seen y/n?”
“no, i haven’t. was she not in bed?”
“maybe she went out to the villages with ariel?”
“ariel’s upstairs, sire,” grimsby informs. eric starts to get more fearful, anything could have happened to her. his life dream used to be to explore the ocean, but now it’s just to keep y/n safe. as long as she’s with him, he’s happy. if anyone ever attempted to hurt her, there would be a new version of himself.
he walked the streets and halls of the castle with no sight of y/n. he stormed through the rooms, requesting help from guards and anyone who was free to search. every single time that anyone came back to say she wasn’t found, his heart broke off a piece.
he decided to roam down to the beaches, just in case she had made her way down here and forgotten to say something. when he spotted a bundle of soft hair, the same color as y/n’s, he sprinted over and fell on his knees in the sand.
“y/n?” he asks, placing his hands on her cheeks to straighten her head. “hey, y/n!”
her eyes flutter open, and eric immediately catches on. she doesn’t seem disoriented, she doesn’t seem alarmed. she’s different. her eyes are darkened and her expression seems uncanny. eric shivers at the look of her, he knows somethings wrong than just a fall on the beach. “are you alright, darling?”
“i’m fine,” she replies. “where’s red?”
y/n walks through the castle, leaving chaos and destruction in her path. she’s messed up the organization, and touching everything she sees. she does it with a smirk on her face as well, knowing exactly the plan.
in her head, only ursula stands, controlling her words and thoughts as y/n feels barricaded. she feels like she’s in a prison of her own mind, not being able to escape and work for herself. it’s like she’s become a puppet of the sea, saying and doing what the monsters please.
there was a party in honor of eric tonight, the queen just being thrilled that he’s home safe. it was also a way to welcome ariel to their customs, and help her get settled into the community. she hadn’t gotten her answer if she was fully accepted yet, but that wasn’t enough for ursula. if ariel wasn’t hers at the end of this, she might just have to take y/n. it’s hard work to make a bad impression of someone so genuine like ariel.
y/n walks into the party, dressed in a slim corset and purple dress as she walks onto the outdoor floor. she looks at ariel, with a toothy smirk on her face. eric spots her, making note of y/n’s watery eyes and red cheeks. somethings terribly wrong with y/n, and he doesn’t know how to save her from it.
“your majesty,” y/n says to the queen. “i need to have a word with you.”
“of course, y/n,” she places a hand on her shoulder, walking over to a corner as eric follows behind them.
“i believe that girl is not safe for this island. all the destruction and disrespect in this castle is a result of her,” eric walks in, overhearing y/n’s words and being confused. she adored ariel, and there was no way she was saying this alone.
“mother-” eric speaks, his mother putting up her hand to him. even the queen can notice something wrong with y/n’s demeanor. her features are sharper, leaving a more intimidating look to her. normally, she looks sweet and welcoming, but now she’s started to look mischievous.
“y/n, im sure it is a misunderstanding what’s happened, but- y/n, miss?”
y/n’s eyes are glued on the orange skies, looking at the sun sinking closer to the horizon. her face glows a golden tint from the light and she moves to look at the ocean. eric grabs her hand, but she swipes it away and walks past everyone. ariel has a frightened look on her face, thinking of how to save herself from scrutiny. unfortunately, as the sun dips below the line between the ocean and the sky, ariel stumbles to the floor as eric scurries to help her up.
“you’re too late!” y/n cries, smiling but also with tears. she runs over to ariel, grabbing onto her arms and yanking her off the ground. they struggle over to the balcony before ursula pops up, grabbing the two girls and diving into the water.
eric watches as his friend and his sweet girlfriend fall into the water. he’s taken aback by the tail revealed, but he needs y/n to be safe first. he got in his boat and rowed out to sea, impacting with the sharp waves and abruptness. he spotted ursula with ariel and triton under the surface, but no y/n. he panics, turning into fight mode as he tries to impale ursula with a sword. he just grazes her, just angering the creature as she sends her eels up to him. even as he’s actually attacked, he just wants to find y/n before anything else.
the battle with ursula felt like a scene from a movie. it was like it lasted days, painful, exhausting days of torment from the witch. even after he swam up to shore, y/n was nowhere to be found.
“get a boat!” eric pants. “we need to find y/n, i need to find her.”
“eric,” the queen says.
“mother, i need her-“
“relax, first, eric. we will find her. we have people out already looking for her,” she tries to comfort her son who’s in the water, discombobulated from all he’s been through today. he stared at the water, remaining on shore but still lost at sea. y/n could be anywhere and it’s out of his control.
with every last morsel of strength y/n had left, she managed to force herself to swim to shore. she lay on the hot sand, absorbing the cold water from her hair and her dress. her eyes felt like she was looking through a dirty eyeglass, the ache in her head blurring her vision. her head had one too many impacts, leaving her with a thumping pain. once she landed there, rolling onto her back to let the sun beat on her face, she couldn’t make herself stand. her muscles were overworked and weary. the warmth of the sun encapsulated her body, leaving her to dry from the soak of the sea.
eric stormed through the beaches, despite the complaints from the queen. he wasn’t going to let her escape him again and be taken. she was just an innocent person, someone who didn’t deserve the wrath of ursula.
ariel herself felt scared. she never was able to experience the same emotions as humans, until she connected with y/n. she knew ursula too well to miss her tricks. y/n would have never done that to her under any circumstance. she admired y/n on the island. ariel had discovered the disappearance of y/n, and took matters into her own hands. she explored the oceans anywhere that she could’ve fallen to, but she eventually washed up to a small island, too far from the shore of eric’s island.
she could see the floating of y/n’s dress in the high tide. she saw the swishes of hair on the ground, covered in grains of sand. she rapidly flipped her fins, pushing herself onto the sand to grab onto y/n. she swam with the unconscious body quickly to the shore of the main island, leaving her on the dry land as she returned back to the waves.
even as time passed, eric was still searching frantically, looking like a lunatic on the beaches. he didn’t stop until he was forced to by his mother, succumbing to her orders to get back in the castle. he was observed and checked out in the medical wing to make sure he wasn’t hurt too severely.
he heard shuffling in the halls, the passing of guards and orders. “alert the prince,” one says, making eric’s head perk up. it wasn’t until grimsby whipped the door open, walking in to greet eric.
“sire,” he pants. “we’ve found y/n.”
eric stands up, his face falling straight as he swiftly moved down the hallways. his footsteps ricochet through the tall passages, skipping up the stairs and seeing y/n in a small bed. her hair was tied back with a white bandage wrapped around her head.
he pauses, taking in the sight of his one and only, vulnerable and hurt on the bed. his chest rises and sinks in long breaths. he doesn’t know if he can handle looking at her sleeping body, she looks too peaceful for him to be comfortable.
as the servants cleared out of the room, eric sat beside her on the bed. he grabbed her hand as she fluttered awake, stretching her body out with a grimace on her face. “eric?”
“yes,” he whispers. “i’m here, it’s alright.”
“i don’t understand what happened, it was all so fast and then ariel-“
“shh, you’re going to be ok now,” he reassures her, running a hand on her cheek.
“but where is ariel? she dropped me off on the shoreline and i didn’t see her again,” y/n questions, fearing for her friend. when she looks behind eric, she hears a soft, gracious knock on the doors as ariel steps in in her blue dress. she has a dim smile on her lips as y/n tells her. “come in, please, ariel.”
she steps into the room, looking around at the mysterious objects in this part of the castle. the couple smiles at the curious girl until she makes her way over to y/n on the bed. “i found you on an island on the outland. it was further from the shipwreck than we were.”
“thank you,” y/n smiles, grabbing ariel’s hand and placing her other one on top of them. she looks around, her expression changing to confusion. “i guess i’ll address the problem in the room. your legs have returned.”
“my father gave me the gift of staying here with you. i’m meant to be on land, and i’ve finally been heard. i couldn’t have done any of this without you. you showed me kindness and never once treated me like i was unordinary, even though i am.”
“you don’t need to ask for respect around here,” y/n says. ariel thanks her one last time, before moving out of the room.
“you have no idea how happy i am that you’re alright,” eric remarks, shuffling closer to y/n’s body. “i was so scared i lost you.”
“i know,” y/n replies. “but you’ll never lose me, eric.” he leans forward, placing a sweet kiss on her lips as a token of gratitude.
“we’re meant to be together until the sky falls, my love.”

Descendants James Hook x Reader: The Pirate And The Mermaid
Tumblr media
Request: Hi, I love your imagines so much that I was wondering if you could do an imagine where Uliana finds out that Hook is dating Ariel's sister and makes him choose the VK group or her by making the reader walk the plank and if hook saves her (which he does) and convinces Uliana that she's nothing like Ariel and is perfect for him. (The other 3 vks already know that they're dating except for Uliana and always help Hook sneak around to see her without Uliana knowing until one day she finds out)

----------------------------------------------------------
James Hook walked around the grounds of Merlin Academy, his dark brown hair messy yet perfectly styled, a confident smirk playing on his lips. But beneath that confident facade, his thoughts were elsewhere, focused on one person in particular.
You, Y/n, the youngest daughter of King Triton, were waiting for him in the secluded corner of the academy gardens. It was a secret place, known only to a few, where the wildflowers bloomed in brilliant colors and the trees provided a perfect cover from prying eyes. This hidden haven had become one of the many places you would meet, a place where the world seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of you in a bliss of stolen moments and whispered promises.
James spotted you before you saw him, your vibrant hair catching the sunlight as you idly plucked petals from a daisy. He paused for a moment, just to admire you, the way the sunlight danced across your features, the serene expression on your face as if you had no care in the world. It made his heart swell with a warmth he had never thought possible for someone like him. You were his light, the beacon that guided him through the dark seas of his life.
With a silent grace, he approached, his footsteps nearly soundless on the soft grass, until he was right behind you.
“Princess.” he whispered in your ear, his voice a velvet caress that sent shivers down your spine.
You jumped slightly, your hand going to your heart as you turned to face him, a smile spreading across your lips. “James, you scared me.” you said, playfully swatting at his arm.
He chuckled, his arms already slipping around your waist, pulling you flush against him. “Can’t help it, love. You’re just too easy to sneak up on.”
Your laughter was like music to his ears as you rested your head on his chest, reveling in the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. “If only everyone could see this side of you. They’d never believe the fearsome Hook has a soft spot.”
He tilted your chin up, his eyes capturing yours, the mischief that usually danced in them now replaced by something much deeper, much more sincere. “That’s because this side of me is only for you, darling.”
Your heart fluttered at his words, a warmth spreading through your chest that made you feel like you were floating. You leaned up, your lips meeting his in a kiss that was both sweet and intense, a reflection of the emotions that swirled between you. His hands tightened on your waist, pulling you even closer as if he could never get enough of you, and for a moment, the world ceased to exist, no prying eyes, no judgment, just the two of you, entwined in your own little world.
But as much as you cherished these moments, you both knew they couldn’t last forever. Merlin Academy was full of eyes and ears, and there were those who would do anything to tear you apart. After all a royal and a villain simply couldn’t be together, that is nkt gow it's supposed to be. The thrill of secrecy was always tinged with the fear of discovery, and yet, it only made your time together all the more precious.
As if sensing the shift in your thoughts, James pulled back slightly, his thumb brushing over your cheek as he gazed down at you with a mix of love and concern. “What’s troubling you, love? You’re too quiet.”
Before you could respond, a soft rustling in the bushes caught your attention. Out of the shadows stepped Morgie, his eyes scanning the area before he spotted the two of you. He was a loyal friend, always looking out for you, even if it meant risking his own neck. With his tousled hair and mischievous grin, Morgie was the perfect accomplice to your secret meetings.
“You two better wrap it up.” Morgie said, his voice low but urgent. “Uliana’s searching for you.”
James groaned, reluctantly releasing you but keeping one arm around your waist as if he couldn’t bear to let you go completely. “Can’t she take a break from being such a buzzkill?”
Morgie shrugged, glancing over his shoulder as if expecting Uliana to appear at any moment. “Not when she’s determined to keep you close, Hook. You know how she is.”
Your smile faded as worry crept into your heart. Uliana had always been a thorn in your side, ever since you first arrived at the academy. She was ruthless, cunning, and had a grudge against your family. It didn’t help that James was her first mate, a role that made your relationship all the more dangerous.
“I can handle Uliana.” James said, sensing your unease. He tried to reassure you, but you could see the tension in his jaw, the way his hand clenched at his side. “She’s all bark and no bite.”
But you weren’t so sure. “Just… be careful, okay? I don’t want you getting hurt because of me.”
James softened at your concern, brushing a strand of hair from your face with a tenderness that belied his fierce reputation. “Don’t worry about me, princess. I’d walk the plank a thousand times if it meant keeping you safe.”
Your smile was small, but genuine, though the unease in your chest remained. You trusted James, but you knew how dangerous Uliana could be. And you had a feeling she wasn’t going to give up easily.
Just then, the shadows seemed to grow darker, and a chill breeze swept through the garden. From the corner of your eye, you saw the air shimmer as Hades appeared with a dramatic flair. His blue flame-like hair flickered as he greeted the two of you with an amused smirk.
“Well if it isn’t mt favorite lovebirds.” Hades drawled, crossing his arms over his chest. “You two do know how to pick the worst places for a secret date, don’t you?”
“Relax, Hades.” James replied, though there was a note of irritation in his voice. “We were just leaving.”
Hades chuckled, his eyes gleaming with a mischievous light. “Good thing I found you first. Maleficent’s already weaving a little distraction for Uliana, but it won’t last long. You’d better make yourselves scarce before she catches wind of your little affair.”
You glanced at James, who nodded slightly. It was time to go, but the thought of parting from him so soon after you’d just found each other again left a hollow ache in your chest. As if reading your thoughts, James leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
“Meet me tonight.” he whispered against your skin, his breath warm and comforting. “At the docks. We’ll steal a few hours together, just you and me.”
You nodded, unable to find your voice as you were overwhelmed by the tenderness in his words, the promise of more time together keeping your spirits afloat.
With Morgie, Hades, and Maleficent covering your tracks, you and James managed to slip away from the garden unnoticed. But as you disappeared into the shadows, you couldn’t shake the feeling that this fragile happiness was standing on the edge of something dangerous. Uliana was relentless, and you knew it was only a matter of time before she made her move.
-----
That night, as the moon cast a silver glow over the academy grounds, you quietly slipped away from your dormitory. The corridors were silent, the shadows long and dark, but you moved with a purpose, your heart racing in anticipation. Every step you took towards the docks felt like a step closer to a dream, one where it was just you and James, away from the prying eyes of the academy.
The docks were deserted, the water gently lapping against the wooden planks. The air was cool, carrying with it the scent of the sea, a reminder of home. You pulled your cloak tighter around yourself as you scanned the area, your breath catching when you saw him.
James stood at the edge of the dock, his back to you, gazing out at the horizon where the sea met the sky. His tall, lean figure was silhouetted against the moonlight, and for a moment, you simply admired him. He seemed to belong here, in this quiet place, where the only sound was the rhythm of the waves and the beating of your heart.
“James.” you called softly, and he turned, his face breaking into a smile as he saw you.
Without a word, he closed the distance between you, wrapping you in his arms the moment you were close enough. You melted into his embrace, the world falling away as you buried your face in his chest, breathing in his familiar scent of salt and leather.
“I missed you.” you whispered, your voice barely audible over the gentle sounds of the sea.
“And I missed you, princess.” he replied, his voice warm and soothing as he held you close. “Every moment we’re apart feels like a lifetime.”
You looked up at him, your eyes locking onto his. “Then let’s make the most of the time we have.”
His expression softened, and he leaned down to capture your lips in a tender kiss. It was slow and sweet, a promise of the love that bound you together despite the dangers that lurked in the shadows. James’ hand gently cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing over your skin as if memorizing every detail, every curve, as if this moment was all that mattered.
When he finally pulled away, he didn’t go far, resting his forehead against yours. “I wish we didn’t have to sneak around like this. I want to be with you all the time, without having to look over my shoulder.”
You sighed, understanding his frustration. “I know, James. But as long as Uliana’s watching us, we have to be careful. I don’t want her to hurt you… or us.”
His jaw clenched at the mention of her name, a flicker of anger crossing his features. “She won’t win, Y/n. I won’t let her come between us.”
“I believe you.” you whispered, wrapping your arms around his neck, pulling him closer. “I just wish there was a way to keep her from interfering.”
James was quiet for a moment, then a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. “There might be a way.”
“What do you mean?” you asked, curious.
He grinned, the roguish smile that always made your heart skip a beat. “I’ve been thinking… if we can keep her distracted, give her something else to focus on, we could buy ourselves more time. Hades and Morgie have already agreed to help.”
Your eyes widened in surprise and excitement. “You really think it could work?”
“With a little help from Maleficent’s magic, we can keep Uliana running in circles.” he said, his tone filled with confidence. “She’ll be so busy dealing with false leads and wild goose chases that she won’t have time to spy on us.”
A thrill of hope surged through you. The thought of being able to spend more time with James, without constantly looking over your shoulder, was too tempting to resist. “That sounds… perfect.”
James leaned in, his lips brushing against your ear as he whispered, “And in the meantime, we’ll keep meeting in secret, just like this. No one will know where or when, only us.”
The idea of these secret meetings, of stolen kisses under the watchfull eye of the night, sent a shiver of excitement through you. You nodded, unable to contain your smile. “I love it. I love you.”
He pulled back slightly, just enough to look into your eyes. “And I love you, darling. More than anything.”
The night passed in a blur of whispered conversations and stolen kisses, the two of you wrapped in each other’s arms as you sat on the edge of the dock, your feet dangling above the water. The moon watched over you, a silent guardian of your secrets, as you shared your hopes, your fears, and your dreams of a future together, one where you could love each other openly, without fear.
Over the following weeks, the plan was set in motion. Morgie and Hades, along with Maleficent’s and her magic, created a series of distractions that kept Uliana busy. They spread rumors, created illusions, and sent her on wild chases that led nowhere. Each time she thought she was closing in on you and James, she found herself frustrated by some new trick or misdirection.
Meanwhile, you and James continued to meet in secret. Sometimes it was the docks, other times the hidden grotto of the academy, or even the deserted beach beyond the forest. Each meeting was a new adventure, filled with the thrill of secrecy and the joy of being together. You cherished these moments, the way his hand fit perfectly in yours, the way he looked at you as if you were the only person in the world.
One evening, after narrowly escaping detection by Uliana, you found yourselves in the old library, tucked away in a forgotten corner surrounded by dusty books and ancient scrolls. The air was thick with the scent of aged parchment, and the flickering candlelight cast a warm glow over the room.
“I think we’re getting better at this.” you teased, leaning against a shelf as James approached, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
He chuckled, brushing a lock of hair away from your face. “Maybe, but I’d still rather we didn’t have to sneak around at all.”
You reached out, taking his hand in yours. “One day, we won’t have to. But for now, I’m just happy to be with you.”
He smiled, his thumb gently caressing the back of your hand. “Me too, love.”
And then he kissed you, slow and deep, the world outside forgotten as you lost yourself in him. Time seemed to stand still in that moment, the only sound the soft rustle of pages as a nearby book caught the breeze from the open window.
You pulled away, breathless and smiling, you couldn’t help but feel that maybe, just maybe, things were finally looking up. You had each other, and with the help of your friends, you were outsmarting Uliana at every turn.
The days turned into weeks, and your secret meetings continued, each one more precious than the last. You cherished every stolen moment, every whispered word, knowing that as long as you had James by your side, you could face whatever challenges lay ahead. And as you stood together, hand in hand, looking out at the moonlit sea, you knew that your love was something worth fighting for, something that could weather any storm.
Throughout these weeks, the tension between James and Uliana only grew, casting a shadow over the secret moments you shared with him. The hidden grotto beneath the academy was your favoriteplace to go with him, a place where you could escape the pressures of the outside world and simply be together. The water there always glistened with an ethereal glow, the gentle sound of the waves lapping against the rocks soothing your troubled hearts.
-----
One evening, after most of the students had retired to their dorms, you and James retreated to the grotto. The air was cool, and the moonlight filtering through the cracks in the stone ceiling bathed the cavern in a soft, silvery light. Your tail, shimmering with iridescent scales, dipped into the water as you leaned against James, his arm wrapped securely around you.
But the peace of the moment was shattered by the sound of footsteps echoing through the grotto. You tensed immediately, recognizing the rhythm and weight of those steps. James’s eyes met yours, a mix of fear and resolve in his gaze as you both realized who it was.
Uliana emerged from the shadows, her lips curled into a malicious smile. The moonlight highlighted the sharp angles of her face, giving her an almost otherworldly appearance. “Well, well, what do we have here?” she sneered, her voice dripping with venom. “James Hook and his little mermaid.”
James instinctively moved in front of you, his hand hovering near the hilt of his sword. “Uliana, this doesn’t concern you. Leave.” he commanded, his voice steady but filled with underlying tension.
But Uliana wasn’t interested in leaving. Her eyes were locked on you, a predatory gleam in them that sent a chill down your spine. “You’re just like your sister, aren’t you?” she hissed. “Always getting in the way, always thinking you can have everything.”
You straightened, refusing to let her intimidate you. “I’m nothing like Ariel.” you replied, your voice firm. “And James isn’t yours to control.”
Uliana’s smile widened, her eyes narrowing with cruel delight. “Is that so? Let’s put that to the test, shall we?” She turned to James, her expression hardening. “You have a choice, Hook. Stay on my crew as my first mate, or keep playing house with the little princess. But you can’t have both.”
The ultimatum hung in the air like a blade, sharp and dangerous. James’s loyalty to his crew had always been a defining part of who he was, but the bond between you had grown stronger with each passing day. The thought of losing him, by being forced apart by Uliana’s twisted games, was unbearable.
“James…” you whispered, your voice trembling as you reached out to him.
He turned to you, his eyes filled with anguish. “I…”
Uliana’s voice cut through the air like a knife. “If you won’t choose, then I will. Either she walks the plank, or you do.” Uliana made a wooden plank appear with her magic, at the edge of the grotto right above the stone cliff and dark restless sea.
A cold dread settled over you as you realized the gravity of what she was asking. James was a pirate, bound by the code of the sea, and to defy it would be to betray everything he had ever known. But to agree to her terms would mean leaving you to a fate you weren’t sure you could survive.
“Do it, Hook.” Uliana taunted, her voice laced with malice. “Show me where your true loyalty lies.”
James’s eyes were filled with desperation as he looked at you. “Princess, I’m so sorry.” he whispered, his voice thick with regret.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you took a deep breath. You knew what you had to do. “James, I trust you.” you said, your voice steady despite the fear gripping your heart. “But if I’m going to walk that plank, I need to do it on my own terms.”
With that, you closed your eyes and concentrated. A tingling sensation spread through your body as you focused on changing your form. Your tail, shimmering with iridescent scales, began to shift. The transformation was always a strange, almost disorienting sensation, but you had done it enough times to control it with precision. Your tail split and morphed, the scales dissapearing and smooth skin taking their place until you were standing on two legs, your mermaid form replaced by your human one.
James’s eyes widened in surprise and admiration as he took in your transformation, but there was no time to dwell on it. You stepped forward, your legs unsteady on the rough stone, but your determination unwavering.
Uliana’s eyes glittered with a twisted pleasure as she watched you approach the plank. “So brave, little princess. Let’s see how brave you are when you’re staring down into the depths.”
James grabbed your hand as you stepped onto the plank, his grip strong but trembling. “I love you, Y/N.” he whispered, his voice filled with pain. “Please, forgive me.”
You squeezed his hand, a silent reassurance that you understood, that you didn’t blame him for the impossible situation he was in. “I love you too, James.” you whispered back, your heart pounding in your chest.
The cold wind whipped through the grotto as you stood on the edge of the plank, the dark water below swirling threathingly. You took a deep breath, preparing yourself for what was to come, when suddenly, James’s hand shot out, grabbing your wrist and pulling you back into his arms.
“No!” Uliana shouted, her eyes wide with rage. “What are you doing?!”
James held you tightly, his grip strong as he faced Uliana. “I’m choosing her, Uliana. I’m choosing love over loyalty.”
Uliana’s face twisted with fury. “You fool! She’s just like her sister, just like Ariel! She’ll ruin you, just like her family ruined mine!”
But James shook his head, his voice calm but firm. “She’s nothing like Ariel. She’s brave, kind, and loyal. And I’d rather face the consequences than lose her.”
For a moment, Uliana looked like she might strike out in anger, but then she seemed to reconsider. She glared at you both before finally turning on her heel and storming out of the grotto, her footsteps echoing in the distance.
The moment she was gone, you collapsed against James, your legs shaking with relief. He held you close, his hand stroking your hair as he whispered soothing words in your ear.
“I’m sorry, darling.” he murmured, his voice filled with regret. “I never wanted to put you through that.”
You looked up at him, your eyes still wet with tears but filled with love. “It’s okay, James. I know you did what you had to. And I love you all the more for it.”
He smiled, the weight of the world lifting from his shoulders as he kissed you deeply, the taste of saltwater and tears mingling with the sweetness of your love.
Meanwhile in the shadows, Morgie, Hades, and Maleficent watched, their expressions a mix of satisfaction and amusement. They had followed Uliana just incase things would get out of hand. However you and James managed yourself just fine. Morgie’s eyes gleamed with a dark, almost predatory interest as he observed the raw emotions playing out before him. Maleficent, ever the queen of darkness, merely watched with a knowing smile, her eyes glinting with a mixture of approval and intrigue. Hades leaned against a wall, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips as he pulled Maleficent into him.
The three of them had always known that love could be a powerful weapon, and tonight, it had proven to be the most powerful of all. As they faded back into the shadows, leaving you and James alone in the grotto, you knew that this was far from over. The battle had only just begun, but as long as you had each other, you were ready to face whatever came next.

When a ruler dies, the ones in line for the throne make one last attempt to get to it first. A rather chaotic few days filled with desperation, especially for those involved.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the kingdom, you found yourself seeking solace in the confines of your bedroom facing the dressing table's mirror. The weight of the impending crown bore heavily on your mind, its significance not lost on you. In just a few hours, you would officially become queen, but with the throne came the burden of making crucial decisions for the kingdom. The once comforting opulence of the room now felt suffocating and distant, a reminder of the isolation that accompanied the crown.
Sinking into a plush chair at the dressing table, your thoughts drifted back to the vivid memories of Ariel – the love that had blossomed between you, and the enchanting melody that had captured your heart. You couldn't help but recall the day she had saved you, the tender touch of her hand as she sang to you, the way she had held you close in her arms. Those memories now intertwined with the weight of your responsibilities, a bittersweet reminder of the love you had to set aside for the sake of the kingdom.
The question lingered in your mind, gnawing at your heart – was this the price of wearing the crown? Were you now destined to sacrifice your own happiness for the sake of a kingdom that demanded everything, even your own heart? The magnitude of the decision weighed heavily on your shoulders, casting shadows over the once-gleaming path you were meant to tread.
Lost in your inner turmoil, you caught a glimpse of your reflection in the grand mirror across the room. The image of the new queen stared back at you, her eyes revealing vulnerability masked by a composed facade. You wondered if anyone could see the turmoil brewing within, the fear of making the wrong choices, and the longing for a simpler life.
With a heavy sigh, you closed your eyes, leaning against the dressing table seeking a moment of peace. When you opened your eyes again and glanced at the mirror, an unexpected sight greeted you – the reflection of Ariel, her image appearing as if she were gently caressing your shoulders and whispering in your ear. Startled, you quickly whipped your head around to see if anyone was with you in the room, but the space remained empty. Rubbing your eyes in disbelief, you couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the surreal experience. Your mind wanders back to Ariel once again.
You would never forget the fervent kisses, scattered like a trail of fire across your body, etched indelibly into your mind. Ariel's tender embrace, as she passionately expressed her love in ways no one else ever had, remained vivid. Her hands enveloped you with tenderness and curiosity, each movement a promise, while the dance of her tongue, an intoxicating symphony of desire, enveloped you in a sensation that felt as if her longing had consumed your very being, propelling you to uncharted heights, a realm of ecstasy before she gently guided you into the cool embrace of the waters. There, her muscular form, usually untouched by warmth, melded with yours, creating a cocoon of closeness that spoke that she doesn't want to ever let you go.
Every morning, as you reluctantly left Ariel's warmth with the rising sun, her tender touches lingered on your body like an ethereal caress. The memory of her feverish kisses, especially the ones trailing across your neck, sent shivers down your spine even in her absence. But it was her melodious chanting in the sea that beckoned you, a siren's call gently urging you to come back to her embrace. As much as you longed to answer that call, you knew you couldn't succumb to its temptation.
The weight of the crown on your head was heavy, Your mother, the queen, had prepared you for the royal role you were destined to fulfill. Yet, the training seemed lacking when it came to matters of the heart. Complications arose as the people of the kingdom impatiently clamored for your marriage, whispering among themselves, eagerly awaiting the day when their future queen would wed, the people's expectations clawing at your back.
You will learn to love him. You remembered Lashana's soft voice as she held you in her warm embrace as you wailed into her chest, soothing your pain with her reassuring voice. The pressure from courtiers and advisors was suffocating, as they pushed you towards a union with the prince of Glowerhaven, but deep down, you knew your heart belonged to Ariel, and no amount of forced affection could change that truth.
Under the shroud of nightfall, you found yourself standing at the water's edge, the waves gently lapping at your feet. The kingdom had settled down for the night, its citizens and tourists all asleep. With a wistful gaze, you stared out at the vast expanse of water that separated you from Ariel's world. The rhythmic sound of the waves seemed to echo her enchanting songs, a constant reminder of the love you could only embrace in secrecy.
Summoning all your courage, you stepped into the sea, feeling the biting cold on your exposed skin. You clenched your teeth, the chill nipping at your lower lip as you endured it for her. For five years, you had been having these clandestine encounters with Ariel, braving the icy waters just to be with her. Waist-deep in the water, you perched on a rock, waiting with bated breath for her arrival.
As the cold seemed to intensify, you pressed your head against the stone, contemplating how to share the news of the arranged wedding with Ariel. Lost in thought, you suddenly noticed movement in the water – a beautiful teal tail adorned with red scales and golden bracelets. A head emerged as searching for someone, wearing a golden crown that shimmered in the moonlight—it was her.
Your tired eyes lit up with affection as you caught sight of Ariel. A smile tugged at your lips when her gaze met yours, Ariel playfully dove back into the water, her lithe form slicing through the moonlit reflection. The sight of her perfect, asymmetrical face and fiery red hair stirred the unquenchable flame of your love. As she approached, it became evident that she intended to playfully tackle you.
"Wait, Ariel, don't—" you called out, but it was too late. With joyous laughter, she leaped into your arms, and together you both sank into the water. Ariel's arms wrapped around your neck, and you opened your eyes underwater, her image slightly distorted but no less beautiful. Her playful spirit prevailed as she pulled you into an underwater kiss, and you tenderly placed your hand on her cheek, reciprocating the love.
As you both resurfaced, gasping for breath but laughing with delight, your foreheads pressed together in an intimate embrace. The reunion after two weeks apart felt like a moment of pure magic, and the joy of being back in each other's arms overwhelmed you. The gentle lapping of the waves served as a soothing backdrop to the emotions swirling between you.
"I missed you so much, Ariel," you said, your voice filled with genuine longing, as you pulled her close, relishing the feeling of her in your arms again. With your head resting on top of hers, you found solace in the intimacy of the embrace, as if no one else existed at that moment except the two of you.
"I missed you too, my love. Two weeks felt like an eternity without you," Ariel whispered her voice tender and filled with warmth. Nuzzling against your neck, she showered you with soft, wet kisses, expressing the depth of her longing and affection. Each touch of her lips on your skin sent delightful shivers down your spine, and you couldn't help but emit a soft whine, overcome by the overwhelming rush of lust you felt for her.
"I have a surprise for you," she murmured, Ariel's lips moved closer to your ear, and her warm breath tickled your skin, making your heart race even faster. "But I'll show it to you later."
Amidst the euphoria of being reunited, you couldn't help but feel a tinge of urgency, knowing that there was something important you needed to share with Ariel. A shadow lingered in the corner of your mind, a haunting thought that had been plaguing your consciousness for too long. As much as you wanted to savor this romantic moment, you knew that sooner or later, you would have to tell her the truth.
"Ariel," you said softly, your voice tinged with vulnerability, she hummed in response still nestled between your neck, "There's something I need to tell you."
"The court put me in an arranged marriage, and I'm getting married in 3 days," you muttered, your voice trembling, and your grip tightened around Ariel's body. Her face was nestled between your neck, planting wet hot kisses, but at the sound of your words, she froze, and her closed eyes shot open, registering the weight of what you said. After a couple of minutes that felt like an eternity, she relaxed again, brushing it off with a laugh.
"Married? Oh, come on, that's ridiculous," Ariel teased with a forced grin, trying not to believe the gravity of the situation. However, when she noticed the seriousness in your expression and the absence of laughter on your lips, her smile faded, and a flicker of something else appeared in her eyes. She continued, her tone gentle as she gently caressed your cheek, "Well... refuse, it's a simple thing to do."
"I can't refuse," you said softly, looking back at her. Her captivating gaze held you captive, and despite the tears that welled up in your eyes, you couldn't look away. Ariel briskly swam away from your embrace, positioning herself in front of you, maintaining that intense eye contact that made it hard to breathe.
"Of course you can…I will make them-" Ariel mumbled out, her irritation evident, but you could also see her fin tail twitching anxiously. Her blue eyes welled up with tears, a mix of frustration and hurt, you could feel the hurt in her voice.
"Ariel, please," you interrupted, mustering all the strength you could find to face the reality of the situation. Your throat tightened, making it difficult to speak, and tears streamed down your face. "You don't even exist for them…"
"So this is it for us?" Ariel asked incredulously, her eyes searching yours for any glimmer of hope. The weight of her question hung heavy in the air, and a mix of emotions flickered across her face – disbelief, sadness, and a tinge of desperation.
"I don't want it to be…uh…I love you Ariel, but I can't simply pass over this," you said, your voice filled with bitterness and desperation. As you looked at her with teary eyes, your breaths came in huffs, and it became increasingly difficult to breathe. You didn't want any of this; you hated seeing the hurt swimming in her eyes. Knowing she might hate you for this only added to your agony, after all, it was your fault-
"Loving someone means going through everything you can imagine, even death... If you can't do this, you can't love," Ariel said angrily through gritted teeth, her teary eyes locking onto yours. Hurt filled your gaze, and you could feel her words striking your heart like a dagger. Your emotions were overwhelming, and tears streamed down your cheeks as you tried to find the strength to respond.
A heavy silence engulfed the air, interrupted only by your sobs and Ariel's heavy breathing. Without a word, Ariel turned away, diving back into the water, swimming away from you. You could only watch helplessly, tears blurring your vision as she distanced herself. In the place where she stood, a shiny object caught your eye, your trembling hands reached for it, revealing a delicate ring. A pink pearl adorned the center, encircled by elegant purple pearls. Your heart sank as you realized what it was –
It was an engagement ring- She was going to propose to you.
"W-WAIT, COME BACK!" you desperately cried out, clutching the ring to your chest as if it held the key to bringing her back. Your breaths came in ragged gasps, and tears blurred your vision, but you continued to call out her name. When it became evident that she wasn't going to return, you sobbed even harder, feeling your vision blur and your breath hitch. You would do anything to make her stay, to mend the wounds that had torn you apart.
"Don't leave me....."
Don'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavedon'tleavemeDON'T LEAVE ME-
"Your majesty?" Eric whispered, awkwardness evident in his voice as you whipped your head startled to look at him, you noticed that he was concerned.
As you slowly regained consciousness, you found yourself in an unfamiliar place, disoriented and bewildered. The world around you seemed hazy, and a faint static sound echoed in your ears, further adding to the confusion. Turning your head, you noticed Eric standing by your side, his expression a mix of concern and bewilderment.
"Where am I? What's...?" you mumbled, your voice weak and filled with uncertainty. Your memory seemed to be clouded, and you struggled to make sense of your surroundings.
"You're in the church, about to become queen," Eric whispered gently, trying to offer some clarity amidst the fog of confusion. He furrowed his brow, trying to comprehend why you were asking such a question, unsure if you were joking or genuinely unaware of the significance of the moment.
The hushed murmurs and lingering gazes only amplified the pressure you felt. The air seemed thick with anticipation and tension, and you could almost taste the apprehension that hung in the atmosphere. Each whispered word seemed to swirl together, your head began to throb, the pulsating pain mirroring the internal struggle within you. The dizzying array of thoughts and conflicting emotions left you feeling disoriented and on the verge of being consumed by the noise.
"Are you alright? Should i get the doctors?" Eric asked softly, his face etched with worry as he noticed you had been staring at the scepter for quite some time. You glanced around and noticed the people in the room looking at you with pity, causing a tinge of embarrassment to flush your cheeks.
"N-No there's no need I'm alright," you mumbled, forcing a tired smile as you met Eric's gaze. Yet, deep within, a gnawing sense of unease had taken root. Your eyes then returned to the bishop, who held the scepter before you.
You took a deep breath, closing your eyes for a moment, trying to steady yourself. You reminded yourself of the reason you were here – to make the right choice for yourself and for the kingdom, to follow your heart even in the face of opposition.
As your outstretched hand tremulously reached for the scepter, an eerie chill swept through your bones, sending shivers down your spine. The air seemed to thicken with an intangible unease, and a voice inside your mind whispered doubtfully, questioning the morality of your actions. The gravity of the moment weighed heavily on your conscience, leaving you in a state of peculiar detachment from the reality that once felt so familiar. The allure of power clashed with the pangs of uncertainty, entangling you in a web of conflicting emotions, making you question if this path was truly meant for you.
Amid this disconcerting moment, a thousand unblinking eyes fixated upon you. However, their gazes appeared surreal, mere specters dancing at the fringes of your vision. The momentous occasion should have been filled with grandeur and significance, yet an inexplicable sense of isolation pervaded your being. As the ornate crown was reverently placed upon your head, a resounding applause erupted around you, signifying that you're their new queen. But the jubilation felt distant, drowned in a disconcerting symphony of static that seemed to echo within your mind, your throat tightened, and panic clawed at you, but you forced yourself to maintain the regal smile.
You now stood alone, with no one genuinely on your side.

ideal type hcs ; disney princesses
Tumblr media
requested by ; anonymous (12/06/22)
fandom(s) ; disney animated films
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; anna, ariel, aurora, belle, cinderella, elsa, jasmine, merida, moana, mulan, pocahontas, rapunzel, snow white, tiana
outline ; “Could you do a headcanons for the Disney princesses ideal types, and what they look for in a partner?”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
anna
anna would prioritise kindness and empathy in a partner above all else — someone who will stick their neck out to protect or help someone else without the expectation of a reward
someone who is capable on their own but who knows when to ask for help, and that isn’t too proud to admit their mistakes
someone who she can have fun with to escape the unending monotony and responsibility of royal life — but who will also stick by her side when the time comes to be serious
someone who loves her for who she is and not the money and status she represents
and bonus points if you get her big sister’s approval
ariel
ariel would pursue a partner who makes the effort to try and understand her — who will push through barriers (emotional, physical, linguistic) in order to make her feel heard and loved
someone who she can have fun with without being made to feel irresponsible or childish — who isn’t afraid to act foolish or silly with her
someone who is affectionate with her, who can match her need for physical touch and such without her needing to beg
someone who isn’t afraid to take risks and do dangerous things if it’s for something you love — be that her or one of your passions
someone who is open and honest with her, who doesn’t belittle or infantilise her — who includes her in the conversation rather than brushing over what she has to offer
a lover who is as in love with the world and with life as they are with her
aurora
aurora would want a partner who is, above anything else, kind — kind to others, kind to the world and kind to themself
someone who isn’t afraid to laugh at themselves but who will always lend a hand or an ear to those who need it
someone who is honest and genuine, but who knows when not to be blunt in what they’re saying — someone who thinks before acting
someone who doesn’t feel the need to rush through life, who can enjoy taking things slowly and take in the simple joys — thinks like freshly made bread and the grass between your toes
she’d want a partner who she could be briar rose with rather than someone who’d expect her to just be princess aurora
belle
belle would look for a partner who is always willing to learn and grow — to change and adapt to the world without getting stuck in their ways
someone who she can joke around with and make fun of without receiving anything but full reciprocation in return — someone who isn’t afraid to be the butt of a joke every now and then
someone who is honest and open, someone who is comfortable around her enough to be honest and who trusts her enough to be open — which she’d reciprocate in a heartbeat
someone who takes the time to get to know her mind rather than stopping at her face — who sees her as an equal and not just a future wife
someone who can be themselves around her and who she can be herself around without judgement or hesitation — just love and folly and conversation
cinderella
ella is the type who would look for a partner that she can be herself around — someone who loves her for all of her passions and eccentricities and that doesn’t expect her to be perfect
someone who appreciates and accepts her independence, never pushing her into any specific role, without forcing her back into the position of complete isolation she was in growing up
someone who can make her laugh but that won’t shy away from her when she’s upset — who accepts her in her entirety rather than only sticking around when she’s happy
someone who holds respect and empathy for everyone no matter their background or appearance — who would have treated her kindly even when she was a house servant
all in all, ella would want a partner who loves her for her and who she doesn’t feel the need to hide parts of herself around — someone who lets her come into her own as a person whilst the relationship progresses
elsa
elsa would want a partner who understands her — who takes the time to learn her boundaries and respects them without question, as she would for them in return
someone who gets her hesitance and isn’t afraid of her because of her gift — they don’t have to admire it or be in awe, just see it as a part of her
someone who doesn’t mind the cold and who won’t force her to stifle herself again
someone who loves her family (chosen and given) as much as they can — who adores anna, jokes with kristoff and who respects the legacy and memory of her parents
she’d want someone who she can have fun with but that isn’t opposed to discussing things that are serious when needed
jasmine
jasmine values a partner who is spontaneous but not in an actively dangerous way — like they enjoy adventure but not putting other people in harm’s way
someone who is fun and adventurous and who is eager and able to show her the world beyond the walls she grew up in
someone unlike all of the stuffy, pompous suitors that come filing in and out of the palace doors every day
someone who isn’t afraid to be unique and affectionate and silly and childish no matter the company
oh and someone who likes cats because raja is here to stay
merida
merida looks for a partner who is as independent as her and who isn’t going to expect her to be reliant on them
someone who is capable on their own and able to handle themselves if the worst happens — whether that’s a war or a loss in the family
someone who loves her family or at the very least makes the effort to get along with them
someone who isn’t afraid to argue and bicker, who doesn’t expect everything to be all roses and sunshine all of the time and bails when things start to not look so perfect
someone who has a good sense of humour and is able to match her wit and jokes without taking offense
but most of all: someone who is looking for a life partner to have fun with, not someone to be subservient to them
moana
moana would seek out a partner who is able to match her energy and mind — who she can talk to without limiting or censoring herself
someone who respects tradition and routine without abandoning or scorning any chance of change and growth — who will support her in bringing her village to a new age of exploration
someone who is willing to step outside of their comfort zone every now and then, but who is able to tell her when they have reached their limit — someone who can be honest with her and who she can be honest with in return
someone who she can bounce ideas off of and who will come back with new routes and theories and concepts that she can bring to the community for approval
she’d want someone who is their own person and respects her independence, but who she can come together with to become better in one way or another — a partner that encourages her growth, not one that hinders or stunts it
mulan
mulan would value a partner who isn’t afraid to be daring and step outside of their comfort zone — someone who balances routine/expectations and growth/adventure in a similar way to herself
someone who isn’t afraid to challenge her and themselves — who is willing to make mistakes and stumble without giving up entirely
someone who loves adventure and taking risks, but that can also enjoy the quieter and plainer aspects of domestic life — cups of tea, star gazing and reading
someone who loves her for her — not for the warrior nor the maiden but for the woman behind that legend
she’d also want someone who respects her and her family without being a complete doormat who is unwilling to speak for themselves — independence mixed with politeness
pocahontas
pocahontas would look for a partner who is willing to learn and grow and isn’t too caught up in themselves and the past to do so
someone who is willing to be patient and listen to the world around them in order to understand it — the water, the wild life, the wind
someone who won’t stifle her need for adventure and who will help her explore the world — travelling together to see more of the world with open minds and open hearts
someone who will stick with her through it all — protecting, listening, learning and growing as a couple and as individuals through the good and bad parts of life
someone who isn’t too proud to be kind or too stuck up to have fun and make mistakes — because that’s what life is about
rapunzel
rapunzel would appreciate a partner who is able to match her enthusiasm and passion for life — or, at the very least, someone who can understand it
someone who isn’t afraid to let their guard down and get their hands dirty — who is happy to let loose and have fun
someone who will listen to her without judgement and who will support her when she’s at her lowest — and that won’t turn her down when she tries to help
someone that doesn’t yell or lie, someone that approaches arguments clearly and honestly — who sees it as ‘us vs the problem’ and not ‘me vs you’
someone who is able to let themselves be silly and stupid and childish and not feel the need to be serious and sad all of the time — someone who is able to be their full self around her
really, she just wants someone to be herself around who won’t judge her for it
snow white
snow would probably find gentleness an attractive trait in a potential partner — that and a willingness to be kind without the expectation of receiving any reward for it
she’s a gentle soul and wouldn’t be compatible with someone who is volatile or combative — especially during disagreements where she tries to seek out a compromise and speak concisely (us vs problem) instead of raising her voice and trying to be right (me vs you)
someone who can let go of their ego when necessary and let themselves be wrong when they’re wrong — someone who is reflective enough to know when they’ve made a mistake
someone who loves animals or who at the very least treats them with empathy and tries to help out where they can
someone who is honest with her but not blunt — being open without being cruel
oh and someone who loves her cooking and baking as that’s how she shows her love
tiana
tiana would look for someone who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty — who is willing to put in work to get what they want rather than just expecting everyone to do everything for them
she needs someone who is independent but that works well with others as well, a team player who doesn’t need to be told what to do in order to get things done
someone who will stick by her through the tough times — providing emotional support and labour when needed without judgement — instead of someone who will just lay low and only be with her during the good bits of life
someone who isn’t afraid to admit when they’re wrong and who isn’t too proud to be emotional and vulnerable — she needs honesty, really
or, in other words, she needs someone who understands and trusts her and that she can trust in return

burning passion of twilight
this is part 2, recommended you read part 1 first! (to avoid confusion) pairing: james hook x fem!reader (requested) (note: reader is ariel's daughter and a mermaid) SUMMARY: as an enemy of the infamous pirate captain starts making advances on you, you are caught between the waves of your lover and the beaming rays of light given to you by another. GENRE: yandere, quite a bit of angst, comforting fluff at the end, a touch of spice CW: a bit of cursing, mentions of violence (sword fight, small injuries, threats), mentions of blood (just a few cuts), lots of hurt moments (from arguing), reader gets harassed, jealousy, possessiveness, suggestive material at the end, also uses of the word 'lover' instead of boyfriend or girlfriend because it fit the setting more WC: 5.5k (did I go overboard? ...maybe)
A/N: me? obsessed with this man? yes, yes I am. the things I felt when writing this...ahhh we love ourselves a jealous man. shoutout to everyone who read and supported part 1, I really didn't think people would actually enjoy reading my writing loll. I know this one is kinda long, so please bear with me. also thanks once again to the anon who requested this, this was a super fun idea to do! all feedback and suggestions are highly appreciated, I'd love to know your thoughts!

“…and then, out of nowhere, BAM! The entire thing explodes!” cries a boy not much older than you, with ginger hair and dressed in a simple green button-up shirt.
Your entire table erupts in laughter, with you sparing a small giggle. It is early morning, and you are sitting with your usual group in the dining hall. You’re only close friends with a few of them, and merely friendly acquaintances with the others. After all, you aren’t really the extroverted, talkative type. Not like the boy retelling the story of how he pranked the headmaster last quarter, somehow with the same enthusiasm as the first ten times he told it.
Peter Pan is one of the members of your large group that you aren’t really close with. Although he is considered to be on the “good” side of the hero-villain spectrum, he sure has his mischievous side.
He is also incredibly extroverted, chatting up anyone he lays his eyes on. Which is why you've always chalked up his attempts to start a conversation with you to his gregarious personality, and nothing more.
Still, you try your best not to get too close to him. Although James has never directly said anything about him to you, you can sense that there’s some…tension between them. Although he tries to act discreet, you’ve still caught on to the way James glowers at Pan whenever you’re with your group—although he doesn’t take much action, as villains and heroes don’t really mix. How he slips his arm around your waist and pulls you in tight whenever he catches sight of Pan, and even the few times he’s used his hook to pull you into a kiss right in front of the person who appears to be his enemy. Not to mention how he always happens to find you with some urgent matter or other that desperately needs your attention whenever you and Pan are having—or trying to have—a conversation. Although, now that you think about it, James does do that quite often whenever you speak to any guy besides him.
Pan catches your eye from across the table, and you can tell he’s waiting for some sort of reaction for his latest joke. You give a polite smile, not really knowing what they had been talking about anyways, and turn away to chat with one of your friends. Whatever’s going on between those two, you don’t care, and you sure don’t want to ruffle any feathers.
Your morning class this semester is Potions and Elixirs 101, in which you happen, by some cruel stroke of fate, to be seated next to the one and only Peter Pan. What is especially annoying about this class—or rather, about your table partner—is that you always end up doing most of the work yourself, being the only one out of your duo that actually listens to instructions.
The teacher explains how today, your class will be making Shanty Serum, an anti-seasickness remedy. After he goes over the requirements a dozen times, you finally set off on the mission of brewing the potion, which is always done in a pair with your table mate.
Everything is going fine, of course; you crush the siren teeth into a fine powder, and Pan, following your careful instructions, manages to brew the kraken saliva until it comes to a soft boil. Just as you reach the final steps, you crinkle your nose as a strange smoky odor fills your senses. You look up from your textbook to see your potion, which you worked so hard on, bubbling and overflowing from the cauldron.
“Ah, I’m so sorry professor! I could have sworn I only put in two unicorn hairs!” Pan cries, jumping back to avoid getting purple goo all over himself. You shoot him a glare, and he adds on, “And I’m sorry to you too, Y/N! I really am!”
You sigh and shake your head, flipping through your textbook to find the page where it explains how to counter excess unicorn hair. Through a bit of luck and a decent amount of skill, you manage to save your potion and not get a terrible grade on it, either.
The last few minutes of class, Pan walks up to you. “Look, Y/N, I’m really sorry about earlier. I know you tried really hard to get the potion right, and I just messed it up. God, I’m such a clutz.” He scratches the back of his head as he looks down at his shoes sheepishly. “Hey, but if you’ll let me, I can make it up to you! Say, you got any plans Friday night?”
His eyes light up as he looks at you with a puppy-dog gaze, and your heart melts a little at his attempt for redemption. But then again, you did promise yourself to keep a good distance from him…
“I-I’m, uhm, well, I was planning to study that night,” you say, which isn’t really much of a lie. “I mean, with midterms coming up and whatnot,” you tack on with a bit of an awkward laugh.
“Saturday night?” Pan pushes, eyes still alight with hope.
“No, I’m sorry, I’m, uh, I’m going out with friends that night. But maybe some other time?” you flash him an apologetic smile, guilt gnawing at your insides as a result of pushing him away. Honestly, you don’t know why James has it out for the poor guy. He seems like the friendly sort to you.
You quickly duck away and move to the other side of the classroom, deciding to meet up with some friends to get away from the stifling silence between the two of you. Deep down, you knew you wouldn't be able to resist Pan’s offer if you had stayed behind to see the disappointed, rejected look on his face. Still, you couldn’t help but glance back at his direction, feeling endlessly shameful for your cold actions.
Tumblr media
You thought that would be the end of that, but little did you realize, in that moment, how wrong you were.
School finally lets out and the afternoon rolls around again, which means you stand patiently waiting in the courtyard again for James. You pace around the water fountain, fingers lightly tracing along the rim, humming a tune under your breath.
This fountain has always reminded you of the sea, the rolling waves of the ocean, how the cold water brushes against your skin while it hugs you in a tight embrace. Just thinking about swimming makes your legs ache to morph back into a tail and take off into the blue depths. The worst part about going to the Academy, in your opinion, is that it’s so far from any bodies of water that the only times you get to finally enjoy yourself in your mermaid form is when you’re off for the holidays.
Just as you make your way halfway around the fountain, you see something move on the other side of the water out of the corner of your eye. “Y/N?” a voice calls out.
You walk back around the fountain to be met with… “Pan?” you ask, surprised. “What are you doing here?”
“Well, I saw you come this way after school, and um, I’ve been feeling really bad the whole day for how I screwed up in P&E earlier,” he explains earnestly. “And so, I was thinking, I really want to make sure that I don’t mess up like that again. For both your sake, and my grades’.” He gives a little chuckle at his joke, before straightening his face out again.
“So, uhm, I was wondering, would you be willing to help me out? You don’t have to fully tutor me or anything, but maybe help me study and give me a few tips?”
There it is again. That spark of hope in his eyes. And honestly, how could you turn him down twice? After how sincerely he apologized earlier, and now with how he’s still thinking of you and trying to prevent himself from causing more trouble. You may have your priorities when it comes to relationships, but you still have morals, too. And there is absolutely no way you can reject him again, especially when he’s so desperate to improve.
“Well…yeah, all right. I’ll help you out,” you say, trying to force a smile on your face.
Pan beams, excitement lighting up his features. “Wow, really? Thanks so much, Y/N! You won’t regret it, I swea—”
Pan’s eyes quickly dart to a point above your head, perhaps catching a glimpse of something behind you. Whatever the cause, he stops dead in the middle of his sentence, face dropping. He goes pale for a second, before morphing his features into a hard and cold gaze. Shocked, you turn around to see what could have caused such a sudden change in his demeanor.
And lo and behold, behind you stands a dark, glowering James, still half-concealed by the shadows behind him. He holds Pan’s cold gaze menacingly with a dark, furious, yet somehow misleadingly calm look of his own. Then, with no warning, he stomps towards you, ensnaring your arm within his hook as he drags you away. You barely catch his grumbled “Come on, we’re leaving” as you stumble backwards from his tug, practically running to keep up with his wide strides.
He leads you down a number of empty corridors and doesn’t let you go until you finally reach a deserted staircase. The second he stops hauling you away from the courtyard, you yank your arm back to your side, panting from the difficulty of keeping up with him.
James spins sharply on his heel, angry glare locked with your confused, half-mad, half-hurt gaze.
“Care to tell me what the hell all that was about, love?” he snarls. Darkness swirls around in his vicious eyes, deep and unrelenting like the crashing waves of the ocean, and equally as violent.
“I was just about to ask you the same thing,” you spit back.
“What the hell does Peter Pan want to do with you?”
“First of all, he’s my partner in Potions,” you reply heatedly, trying your best to hold back the angry tears you can feel already forming in your eyes. “And he was asking if I could help him study. As an apology for messing up earlier today. What’s so wrong with that?”
James laughs darkly, muttering, “Damn it, that bastard,” under his breath. He rocks his head back and forth, pairing it with a wicked, twisted smile that sends cold chills down your spine.
“I don’t understand what’s so wrong with that!” you cry out, feeling hot tears already start to trickle down your face.
“Don’t you see?” spits James, taking a step towards you and waving his hook wildly in some form of gesture. “He’s trying to steal you from me!”
At this, you recoil, blinking slowly. You can feel the emotions simmering in you, deep down. The calm before the storm.
“Steal me? From you? Steal me?” you ask, the emotions and fury building inside you like a rising wave. You take a step back from him, your voice rising.
“Look, Pan and I may not be mates, but I know him well,” James snaps, clearly pissed. “And I can tell you right now that he doesn’t have any good intentions towards you.”
“Steal me? Like I’m some sort of treasure to be claimed? Like I’m an object?” you cry out, exasperated and relentless.
Something flashes across James’s eyes for a split second, some emotion or thought that is rather undecipherable. His features soften slightly, reminiscent of how he was when you sang for him under the moonlight not so long ago. As if his rational mind is finally catching up to his emotional words, his face falls, furrowed brows loosen a bit, and the cold anger in his eyes gives way to a more tender side of him. Maybe if you looked hard enough, you could also see a hint of regret laced in there.
“No, I’m sorry Y/N. I didn’t mean it like that,” he calls out after you. But it’s too late; you’re already running down the empty hall, away from James. Away from all your problems.
Tumblr media
You’re half-asleep when you show up to Potions and Elixirs 101 the next morning. After your fight yesterday with James, you simply couldn’t catch a wink of sleep. It’s the first time you two fought like this, and you honestly don’t know what to do or how to feel. Sure, you’re still angry at him for the way he acted, but at the same time, you miss his comforting embrace, his soft laughs, the touch of his skin against yours.
You sit down at your assigned table, trying your best to ignore the ginger next to you. Today, you’re taking notes on a lecture the teacher is giving, so you thankfully won’t have to do much talking to Pan.
You make sure to listen as intently as possible to the professor, wanting to fill your mind with something other than thoughts of your argument earlier. You pay attention to taking notes so closely that you nearly forget all about your problems. That is, until you’re reminded again at the end of class, as you’re putting your things away alongside everyone else.
“Hey, Y/N?” Pan asks from beside you.
“Yeah?” you reply, feigning nonchalance. You make sure to keep your head down as you stuff your notebook into your bag. Oh, please let this be about the homework we were just assigned and nothing else.
“I wanted to talk to you about what happened yesterday.”
Well, damn it.
You think about giving a quick response to end the conversation, but in all honesty, you don’t really know if he expects you to accept his apology, or give one of your own. You aren't quite sure who is in the wrong here, but you are sure of one thing: saying the wrong thing will not do you any favors in solving your problems.
“What about yesterday?” You try to keep your tone light, as if it’s all water under the bridge, but you can’t help the apprehensiveness that leaks into your voice.
“Well, I wanted to apologize if I was interrupting something between you two back there,” Pan starts.
You give him a small, apologetic smile, “No, don’t worry, you weren’t interrupting anything,”
“In that case…” Pan runs a hand through his hair as he lets out a quick exhale, before locking eyes with you and asking, “Why are you still with him?”
His blunt question startles you, sending your mind reeling for a response. “I-I don’t know…I just am,” you say, wishing this conversation would be over already. You had never been a big fan of difficult questions that made you doubt everything you knew, or thought you knew, about yourself.
“He treats you terribly. I’ve seen the way he acts. He’s a terrible lover, Y/N.”
You turn to face Pan directly, a defensive glint in your eye at his accusatory tone. “No, he’s not!” You turn away again as you mumble a small, “And he’s not my lover.”
At this, Pan quirks an eyebrow and gives you a look with a very obvious meaning behind it. “Oh please, have you never seen how he is around you? Of course he’s your lover.” Without missing a beat, Pan tacks on, “And a shitty one at that.”
You huff angrily, but you can’t think of anything to shoot back at him besides blatant denials. Pan must have taken this as an offer to continue, because he steps forward and places a gentle hand on your upper arm.
“I’m saying this because I care about you, Y/N. You deserve someone a lot better than the likes of James Hook. Someone who will treat you right, take you out on dates whenever you want, and proudly walk around in public with your hand in theirs. Not someone who only meets up with you after school so nobody sees and acts like you don’t exist half the time.”
Your anger only grows at his words, knowing that his accusations aren’t true and that James does care about you…right? Because underneath the part of you that is always ready to defend James entirely and completely, is a part of you that doubts it, doubts him. It’s always been there, lingering in the back of your mind ever since your unusual relationship started to blossom. And now, with a new layer of hurt and confusion having been peeled back during your fight last night, that part of you wondered, deep down, if Pan was right.
“You need a better lover, Y/N,” Pan continues. “Someone who truly cares about you. Someone…someone like me.”
Your eyes blow wide at his revelation as your mouth parts slightly in shock. You take a step backwards, shrugging off Pan’s hand as you stumble away from him.
“Wait, please, just hear me out,” he pleads. “Just give me one chance. One chance to prove myself to you. You gave Hook a chance when you started trusting him, didn’t you? And he’s a villain. So why can’t you give me a chance? You won’t regret it, I promise.” He moves closer to you and you keep inching away, until your back collides with a wall and you realize that you have nowhere to run.
Pan continues forward, your fear skyrocketing at his increasing proximity. “Please?” he begs. “I could treat you right. So much better than Hook.”
He finally reaches you, standing far closer than you would have normally let him, or anyone else, for that matter, as he cups your cheek with his left hand. Truth be told, it feels nice to sense warm flesh on your skin instead of the cold, harsh metal of James’s hook. But you shake that thought away almost instantly, chastising yourself for, even for a moment, putting Pan above James.
Pan places his free hand on the wall next to your head and leans in even closer. “Please?” he whispers, his warm breath fanning across your cheek.
The feeling of his exhale, paired with his natural scent that you only smell now when he’s this close, takes you back to that day when you first met James. He had leaned in too, whispering in your ear. You had felt his breath on your skin, breathed in his scent.
You feel an odd sense of deja vu, but for some reason, this interaction causes your heart to race out of pure fear, rather than the exhilarating rush you felt when you were with James. The realization causes you to snap out of your trance and go into full-on panic mode. “N-no, I’m sorry, I…”
Pan growls, not backing away. “Come one! How come you gave a villain a chance and you won’t give me one? That’s not fair!”
Your breathing quickens in pace, the panic settling over you and dragging you deep under like a wave at sea. Your palms start sweating profusely, and you can hear your heart racing a thousand miles a minute. You’re pretty sure this is what people mean when they mention one’s fight or flight response.
“No! Just, just leave me alone!” you cry, ducking under his arm and rushing away from him just as the bell rings. You run into the hallway, trying to put as much distance between you and him as possible.
You finally make it to the dining hall, plopping down at a table far away from your usual spot. You don’t care if you have to eat alone; anything to get away from Pan. Your mind is already wandering to thoughts of how to convince your Potions and Elixirs teacher to let you switch seats when you notice a lot of commotion next to the entrance of the dining hall.
People have started crowding around the doors and murmuring to each other. Curious, you get up from your seat, wandering over to see what’s causing the commotion. As you near, you hear distant shouting and the sound of metallic clinking. You move even closer still, and finally catch snippets of people’s conversations.
“...fighting…”
“over…girl…” “Wait, who’s winning?”
“...did you see that?” “Oh my god…he’s gonna kill him!”
You try to stand up straight to get a look at what's causing the commotion, but the large crowd that has amassed blocks everything from view. “What’s going on?” you ask, not really to anyone in particular.
“Didn’t you hear?” a short, round boy, with big glasses to match his wide eyes answers. You recognize him as Smee from some of your classes. “James Hook is fighting a duel against Peter Pan!”
James…fighting…what? You blink in absolute disbelief. There is no way this is happening right now.
You manage to push your way to the front of the crowd, albeit not without many disgruntled mumbles thrown your way, until you get a clear view of the corridor in front of the dining hall.
You stand there, petrified, as you watch. Hell, it is really happening. James and Pan each have their swords unsheathed and are violently swinging them at each other’s heads, parrying the other’s attacks with deafening clashes of steel.
“You bastard!” James yells, taking another swing at Pan.
Pan jumps back, floating a few feet in the air as he does so, with a laugh. “Oh please, all I wanted to do was treat her right. Unlike you.”
James grits his teeth, countering Pan’s blow with one of his own. “You tried to steal my girl!”
Pan rolls his eyes, continuing the back-and-forth between their swords. “Your girl? As she said herself, you’re not even her lover.” James ducks down to avoid Pan’s latest attack. “Ha, how amusing indeed.” A dark glint shines in his eye as he lets out a cold and malicious laugh, before charging forward once again. “Of course I’m her lover, you bilge-sucking scoundrel! She belongs to me!”
Your eyes grow impossibly wider at those words. It shouldn’t come as much of a shock to you as it does; after all, it’s not like you and James haven’t been acting like a couple for the past few months. But still, you had managed to convince yourself that it was nothing serious, since he had never once directly talked about what you were. And hearing him say it out loud…declaring to the whole school that you were his…it made your heart feel unspeakable things.
“Well, you sure as hell don’t act that way,” Pan bites back, nicking James’s cheek. James recoils for a second, raising his hook to his face and wiping at the gash. He looks down at it, and from your front-row seat you can see the blood smeared against the glistening metal.
James looks back up at Pan, raises his cutlass, and resumes the fight with a new vigor. Every hit more violent than the last, every offensive move aiming at a critical point. “I’m gonna kill you!” James yells as he lands a blow on Pan’s right arm.
This gash seems rather deep—far deeper than the one previously inflicted on James—the blood already leaking out and staining Pan’s sleeve. He winces and steps back, but continues the fight.
You stand there, motionless, too afraid to do anything. Maybe a braver person than you would step in, tell them to stop fighting. But your feet remain planted to the floor, your jaw aching from being clenched so hard as you pray for no one to get seriously hurt.
Pan parries one of James’s attacks and does a quick spin, rapidly gaining momentum with his sword as he turns around and aims the blade…
…directly at James’s head.
A small whimper escapes your throat as the roar of metal hitting metal echoes through the hall. You gasp, heart in your hands, as your eyes take a moment to register the scene in front of you.
James has caught Pan’s blade in the curve of his hook, holding it just inches away from his head. Their arms tremble with strain, with Pan trying to break James’s defense and slash through his neck, and James fighting to prevent him from doing so. They lock eyes, an endless, unspoken conversation passing between them in that moment. Pan’s sword inches closer to James’s head, whose back is bent as he struggles to hang on.
With a sudden swoosh, James yanks his hook in a downward motion, spinning Pan’s sword inside of its arch. A terrible screech sounds at the rubbing of metal against metal as the sword gets wriggled free from Pan's grasp. James jerks his hook backwards, and the sword launches out of his opponent's hands.
The entire audience lets out a collective gasp as Pan’s sword lands with a clang! against the rough marble floors, off to the side. Everyone is dead silent, holding their breaths with anticipation of what’s to come.
You watch as the realization of his defeat dawns upon Pan, the fear blossoming in his eyes as James extends his cutlass to Pan’s throat. He presses the sharp tip into his neck, lightly enough not to break skin, but still firmly so no one, not even Pan, doubts his opponent's defeat.
“Apologize,” James demands, voice booming across the corridor, tone rather befitting for the captain of a ship.
“I-I’m sorry!” Pan pleas, just now aware of what a dangerous predicament he had gotten himself into.
“Not to me, you moron. To her.” James jerks his head backwards to where you’re standing, in the front of the audience, eyes blown wide.
Pan turns to face you, eyes locking with yours amidst the crowd. “I’m sorry! Truly, I am! Please, forgive me!” he cries.
James snarls, pulling his sword back, poised to strike a lethal blow. He thrusts his hand forward, straight towards Pan’s chest…
…but doesn’t ever reach it.
Everyone watches, confused—James more so than anyone else—as his hand remains suspended in midair. A soft blue force field shimmers around his arm, just as loud footsteps and an old, yet assertive, voice fills the hall.
“Fighting on school grounds is strictly against school policy, you know.” The headmaster, Merlin, walks in from the opposite side of the hall. His steps echo loudly against the high ceilings, filling the otherwise dead-silent area. “Boys, you come with me. The rest of you, get to your classes.”
The crowd slowly disperses as Merlin whisks James and Pan away. You still stand there, feet glued to the floor, watching their backs until they disappear from sight.
Tumblr media
You didn’t see neither James nor Pan in your classes for the rest of the day, and you assumed you wouldn’t be seeing them for a while. The headmaster was generally a kind soul, but he was strict when it came to breaking rules. You didn’t know what punishment he had come up with for them, but whatever it was, it couldn’t be good.
Which is why you’re rather surprised when you open your locker at the end of the day to find a note flutter out and land at your feet. Curious, you pick it up and read it. “Meet me at our spot after school. -J.”
A small grin makes its way across your face, although you try your best to help it. You don’t know why, but reading James’s little notes always brings you joy, even if you are in a tight spot with him.
You make your way to the courtyard, where James is waiting for you by the water fountain once again.
“Y/N,” he says, voice back to being gentle and soft. You open your mouth to respond, but he puts his hook against your lips, quieting you. “I need to get this out first before you yell at me.”
“I wanted to see you to apologize for my actions. After hearing what Pan said…” His eyes wander down to the ground as a grimace spreads across his features. “I’ve come to the realization that he’s right, love.”
You raise your eyebrows at his statement, shocked at the confession. Cocking you head to the side, you wait for him to continue.
“I haven’t been treating you the way I should. And that is going to change, starting today. I also have to ask for your forgiveness for my actions earlier…it was wrong for me to get upset at you for speaking to Pan. But seeing you act so kindly to my enemy…it really struck something inside of me.”
“James,” you breathe, lifting his hook up to your cheek and placing your hand on top of it. “It’s fine, I forgive you.”
“Even for dueling Pan?”
You let out a small giggle. “Yes, that too. Although, I must admit, I did find you fighting for me to be kind of attractive.”
“Oh?” James asks with an intrigued smile dancing on his lips. He uses his free hand to wrap around your waist, pulling you into him. “Then I suppose I’ll have to start more fights then.”
You giggle again, happy to finally be in your lover’s arms. Truth be told, you had mentally forgiven him long ago. Ever since the night of your argument, you had just wished it would all end, that you two would go back to the way things were.
“Why...why did you start that fight with Pan?” you ask, the question having been on your mind for a while.
James slowly lets out a breath before responding. “I heard of how he harassed you in your class earlier. The thought of him putting his hands on you…making you uncomfortable…it was just unbearable, love. I don't care what it cost me; he had to pay for what he did.”
You process this, giving a small nod. Although you don’t quite agree with his methods, you still find his protectiveness endearing.
“I have something to ask you, as well, darling,” James inquires. You meet his gaze, signaling for him to go on. “Did you really say that I wasn’t your lover?”
“I, well, uh…” your voice trails off. You were hoping that he hadn't quite caught that when Pan said it, but apparently he had. Glancing back up at James’s face, you wish you didn’t see the pain etched into his features, all but hidden by the mask he always puts up.
“Well…” you start. “You never said anything about us officially dating, and I didn’t want to presume…” You look down at your shoes, avoiding his burning stare.
James removes his hook from your cheek and slips it under your chin, gently tilting your head upwards towards him. “And here I thought that it was so obvious, I didn’t even need to mention it to you, my little mermaid.”
You give a small grin, finally at peace within your lover’s arms. “You can never be too sure,” you whisper, leaning in and intertwining your lips with his in a passionate kiss, the intensity building around the two of you.
James takes a few steps backwards as you lean into him, still locked in your embrace, his leg hitting the stone of the water fountain you two love to meet at. He maneuvers his way down and sits on the rim, pulling you on his lap.
You wrap your arms around his torso, straddling his thighs. James puts his good hand on your waist, using his hook to pull you in by the collar of your shirt. You moan softly, the sound melodious as your rampant emotions spark the magical abilities inside you, one hand leaving his back and creeping inside his loose shirt.
You open your mouth as he slips his tongue inside, gently rocking on his legs. A groan escapes his lips as you rub your fingertips along the bare skin of his chest, moving lower to trace his rather well-defined abs. He moves his good hand down to your leg, gripping it tightly as he continues kissing you with a deep fervor. Everywhere he touches, he leaves a trail of fire on your skin. Your body ignites at even the slightest of brushes, a blaze consuming you inside and out.
Which is why when he raises his hook and brushes your cheek with the cold metal, the feeling is all-too welcomed. You nearly melt as your mind completely blanks, your senses overwhelmed. James doesn’t quite understand why his small gesture elicits such a reaction from you—you were now kissing him and moving with much more rigor than before—but he revels in the way you make him feel. You, on the other hand, get lost in the sharp contrast the coolness of his hook provides to your burning cheek, the inferno that swells around you ever-growing as you continue to have a passionate night with your lover.
The moon has its cycles, coming and going. When it disappears at the first rays of dawn, the tides yearn for its alluring and familiar presence yet again. And although it may seem like an eternity away, nightfall always comes, bringing with it the gentle serenity of being with the one you belong with.
You think back to the question you asked yourself not so long ago, If you could go back, would you change what happened, that fateful day you met James? In that moment, you decide, no, you wouldn’t. Because the life you have right now is the only one your heart will ever yearn for.

• Ariel is always trying to learn more about you. She's asking so many questions about your childhood, your dreams, your fears. Don't matter how long you both know one another, Ariel will pay attention to everything you tell her. Don't matter if it doesn't sound important, if you already told her, Ariel will hear gadly.
• She loves to do new things with you. Ariel is so adventurous, so interesting in knowing more about the world, and she wants to do that with you. Don't matter if it is trying a new dish or going to a dangerous place, she wants you with her.
• Ariel thinks she knows how humans behave, but little does Ariel know how dumb were the things she heard. So she's trying, she really is. Maybe she don't know that people give flowers to their girlfriends, but she gives you grass with the same intention of making you happier. Her compliments can be a little off, but she truly believes she's saying normal, nice things.
• If you are in danger, Ariel will protect you. Don't matter if she can't possibly save you, if it would be better if she ran away, if she can get hurt: Ariel would do anything for you. She's yours, you're hers. If anyone tries to change that, she will be there to stop them. Don't matter what.
• She can be jealous, but Ariel never acts like it's your fault. She just gets possessive, afraid that someone may try to get you away from her, and that usually makes her act more like a child than she would like to admit. Ariel just needs time to undertand her feelings.
• Ariel is clingy. She wants to be near you, to do things with you, to share everything she has with you. She includes you, invites you to be part of her life, whenever she can. For Ariel, this is how she can show her love for you.

𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩 ‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
As the rest of the pack went to cheerleading practice, me and Willa decided to skip the rest of the school day to have some alone time and to catch up more.
"Are you sure nobody is home?" Willa asked with a raised brow and I gave her a nod.
"Yeah and if anyone comes home you can just sneak out the window or I'll hide you" I said and opened the door to my house making sure to double check that nobody was home before inviting her in.
I led her up the stairs and opened the door to my room. Unlike the rest of the rooms in the house I made sure that mine had a more me look.
"Nice room" she said looking around.
"Thanks" I said and sat down on the bed and she sat down next to me.
The room was silent for a while until I decided to break the ice "so I see you've been leading the pack while I was gone eh?" I asked and she chuckled.
"Yeah, it wasn't easy since I've been trying to find this moonstone for years and well also you" she said looking at me.
"Well I'm here now and we won't rest until we find that moonstone ok?" I asked, leaning on my elbows and she nodded.
"Loud and clear mamm" she said and I let out a laugh and she laughed with me.
"Sooo about what happened in the library" I said a smirk and she tensed up a bit.
"What about it?" She asked, looking down at me.
"Well we were in the middle of something until it was interrupted" I said wiggling my eyebrows and she rolled her eyes.
"Keep rolling those eyes, maybe you'll find a brain back there" I chuckled out as she shot me a glare.
"So you're saying you want to continue?" She asked, cocking her head.
"Would you kill me if I said yes?" I asked.
She licked one of her canine teeth before smirking and leaning down pressing her plump lips to mine.
I cupped her cheek with my hand as our lips moved in sync.
I pulled away and grabbed her hand "come here" I said and tugged her onto my lap before reattaching our lips.
I gripped her waist with my hands and slowly raised her dress a little before I rocked her hips into mine. She moaned softly and started planting kisses down my neck and jaw.
I let out a soft moan as she started sucking on the skin harder.
She leaned back up and moved her hair out of the way before reaching behind her back and unzipping the back of her dress.
I flipped us over onto the bed and took her dress off her shoulders and pulled it down her body leaving her half naked.
She tugged on the bottom of my shirt and I took it off as she started to unbuckle my jeans. I tossed my shirt away as she unzipped my zipper and I tugged my jeans off leaving me in my boxers before getting in between her legs.
"Are you sure you want to?" I asked and she gave me a raised brow.
"If I didn't, would I be half naked under you right now?" She asked with a smirk and I just shrugged my shoulders.
"Just asking" I said
"Moon just shut up and kiss me" she said and pulled me down towards her lips.
She tangles her hands in my hair, taking it out of its hairstyle. I trailed my kisses down her neck and started sucking on the skin making sure my sharp teeth don't cut her skin.
"Fuck" she hissed
"Did I just hear you cuss?" I smirked at her profanity and she gave me a look before I went back to giving her neck attention.
I slowly trailed my hand down her body and stopped at her underwear. I looked up at her with a reassuring look.
"Can I?" I asked and she nodded.
I slowly slid my hand into her underwear and started to rub her slowly.
She let out a soft gasp and gripped my upper arm.
"Does that feel good?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yeah" she breathed out.
I slowly started to move my hand faster and her noises slowly started to raise.
I knew I had to be careful though since this was her first time ever experiencing something like this.
A few minutes later I took my hand out and she gave me a questioning look.
"Why did you stop?" She asked.
"Just want to have full access to you" I said and yanked her underwear down and she let out a surprised yelp.
I spread her legs revealing all of her.
I looked at her and saw she was slightly nervous "it's ok Wils I promise that this will feel good" I said and she let out a deep breath before nodding.
"Ok" she mumbled under her breath.
"This might sting a little" I told her as I slowly pushed a finger inside of her and she let out a small hiss.
"You ok?".
"Yeah it's just kind of uncomfortable"
"Don't worry it'll feel good in a minute"
I started to move my finger in and out of her and her uncomfortable groans slowly turned into moans of pleasure.
"Oh god" she mumbled under her breath, her head falling back on the pillows.
"There you go" I whispered and slid another finger inside.
She whimpered and her back arched off the bed. I started pumping my fingers into her at a steady pace.
I curled my fingers and she let out a loud moan hinting that I found her g-spot and started moving my fingers fast in that particular spot.
"Oh yes!" She cried out.
"I see you're enjoying it huh?" I asked and she nodded her head.
I pulled my fingers out of her and she gave me a questioning look "why did you stop?" She asked.
"Because I want you to feel everything" I said and it looked like she understood what I was trying to say because she gave me a look of approval.
I opened my top drawer and pulled out a condom before closing it.
"What's that?" She asked.
"Oh this is a condom it basically prevents me from getting you pregnant" I explained.
"Oh ok" she said and I slowly pulled my boxers off and I saw her eyes widen at my member. I snickered and opened the package before putting the condom on.
"Are you ready?" I asked lining up with her.
"Yea" she said.
"This is gonna hurt ok so just squeeze my hand if you feel pain" I replied taking her hand.
I slowly pushed inside and she let out a small yelp and squeezed my hand a little.
I pushed in some more and she let out a cry of pain, her moonstone necklace glowing and her eyes turning gold.
"Wait! Stop, it hurts!" She cried out tears welling up in her eyes threatening to fall down her cheeks.
I quickly stopped and groaned when her walls closed in on me tightly. I rubbed her sides to comfort the pain and peppered her face with kisses to distract her.
After a few minutes her walls seemed to open and up and she gave me a nod.
"You can continue," she said.
I nodded and thrusted the rest of myself inside of her, her eyes shot open and her grip tightened on my hand almost breaking it.
We waited a little while before I slowly started to move her face scrunched up in discomfort before it slowly changed to a look of pleasure.
"Can you go faster?" She urged.
I smirked and gripped her waist "be careful what you wish for Wils" I replied.
"Shut up Moon and just-" I cut her off by giving her a rough thrust and she yelped in shock.
"Tell me to shut up one more time" I challenged her with a wide grin.
When she said nothing I smirked in triumph before continuing my pace. We both let out moans at the feeling of each other.
"Holy fuck" I groaned under my breathe.
I cupped her chin and pulled her into a kiss. I licked her bottom lip for entrance and she hesitantly opened her mouth allowing me to slip my tongue inside.
As our tongues swirled with each other I sped up my thrusts making sure to do more deeper strokes.
She moaned loudly into the kiss biting my bottom lip with her teeth drawing a little blood but I could care less.
I spread her legs more and lifted one up with my arm holding it up while the other leg was wrapped around my waist.
Her mouth dropped open and her eyes fluttered.
"Oh my god" she moaned, raking her nails down my back.
"Shit!" I hissed, feeling my skin break.
"Are you ok? Did I hurt you?!" She asked in an alarmed tone quickly pulling away.
"No it's fine it turns me on even more actually" I smirked, kissing her jaw and thrusting into her harder.
"Ah!" She cried out her nails digging into my back harder.
I smashed my lips onto hers silencing our sounds and she wrapped her hands around my neck, her fingers gripping my hair as she wrapped her legs around my waist.
"I want to fully make you mine," I said breathlessly.
She didn't even hesitate and nodded.
"Do it," she muttered.
I grabbed the back of her neck and tilted her head back so I had full access to her neck.
I knew after I marked her it would seal us as mates fully which would mean I would smell her scent and I knew I would most likely get more rough.
I bared my canines and in one swift motion bit down on the skin she let out a loud gasp as my teeth pierced through the skin not enough to draw blood but enough to leave my mark.
I pulled away and I saw my tattoos slowly start to appear on her arm.
But after a few seconds I grunted when I smelled the strong scent of vanilla and lavender raiding off of her. My eyes turned gold and I let out a loud growl. I looked down at her and saw that her eyes were also gold.
She growled along with me and to my surprise flipped us over so that she was on top.
She gave me a wide smirk and slammed her hands down beside me and started moving her hips.
I leaned my head back on the pillows moaning at the feeling of her and the fact that her scent was just overwhelming all of my senses.
I gripped her hips tightly and made her move faster. Her hands gripped my chest and she let out a moan.
I inched my hands towards her bra and looked at her for reassurance. She looked a little nervous and I was gonna move my hands away but she stopped them.
"You can take it off" she breathed out hesitantly.
I made her lean down and I unclipped the back of her bra and took it off her shoulders.
I tossed the bra away and made her lean back up. I could tell she felt a little insecure.
"Hey you look beautiful let me see all of you" I said and she slowly removed her hands revealing her top half.
I bit my lip and cupped her breasts while bucking my hips up into hers.
She let out a loud moan and started to bounce up and down on me meeting my movements.
"Fucking-" I groaned out.
She leaned down and placed her lips on mine slipping her tongue in my mouth.
I slowly moved my hands down to her ass and gave it a squeeze. She jumped a little and pulled away from the kiss giving me a shocked look.
I stopped my movements and raised an eyebrow at her.
"Was that too much?" I asked.
She shook her head and tucked some hair behind her ear "no just wasn't expecting you to do that" she said.
"I won't do it again if it doesn't make you feel comfortable?"
"No, no it's fine I liked it just don't stop next time" she said and pulled me back into the hot kiss.
I roughly bucked my hips into hers and loud moans left her mouth with each thrust after a few minutes of doing that I pulled out of her and she let out a soft whine.
"Why did you stop again?" She asked.
"Get on your stomach" I said, more like demanded.
She got off of me and layed down next to me on her stomach. I got on my knees behind her and lifted her hips making her arch her back a little before pushing back inside.
I continued my pace but a tad bit more rougher than before grunting under my breath with each pace.
Her hands gripped the pillow tightly as continuous moans left her throat.
I tried to hold back the control as her scent started to get stronger after trying to fight back against it. I just wasn't able to take it anymore.
My eyes glowed yellow and my claws dug into her hips tightly as I started to slam my hips into hers.
Her sounds got louder and my groans and growls got deeper.
"Faster!" She cried out and I gave her exactly what she wanted.
"Oh fuck Moon!" She whimpered.
I grabbed a lock of her hair and yanked it forcing her head back so that I was able to grab her neck.
I moved her hair out of the way and bit another mark on the other side of her neck making sure that anybody knew that she was mine.
"Ugh!" she groaned.
"I'm your alpha correct?" I whispered in her ear wanting to hear from her mouth that I had complete dominance over her
"Nobody is the boss of me- fuck!" She screamed when I yanked her hair back more and slowed my thrusts much to her dismay.
"If you want to finish you'll say it" I growled.
"Fine!" She grunted.
"Fine what?" I asked thrusting into her roughly.
"You're my alpha" she whimpered and I smirked in triumph and let her hair go letting her head fall back onto the bed.
I grunted when I felt her walls tighten around me and my thrusts started to get sloppy. She dug her face in her arms trying to cover up her sounds. I let her just in case someone came home and we didn't know.
Our sounds got louder and louder as we both felt our climaxes coming "Moon-" she was gonna say but I already knew.
"I know I am too" I groaned out burying my face in her neck.
She turned her head and pulled me into a kiss just as our climaxes hit us, our sounds being muffled by each other's lips.
I rode out our highs before I pulled away from the kiss and pulled out of her before I plopped down beside her. The only sound in the room was our heavy breathes before she finally spoke up.
"That was amazing" she chuckled out and I laughed with her.
"Glad you enjoyed it" I replied.
"You're kinda insane in bed though" she said, giving me a look and I burst out laughing.
"My bad" I said but she just shrugged.
"Didn't say I hate it" she said.
She laid her head down on her arms and turned her head to me and gave me a cute smile with her canines showing.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh nothing, just wondering..... what we are now?" She asked.
"What do you want us to be?" I asked.
"Well I was hoping we'd be something more since we never really put a label on us" she said, tracing my markings with her nails.
"Well...Willa Lykensen would you do me the honor and be my girlfriend?" I asked and she smiled before leaning over to me and giving me a quick peck on the lips.
"I would love to," she said, putting her head on my chest.
I grabbed her chin and was gonna kiss her again but we were interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. Our heads snapped to the door just as a voice spoke from the other end "Hey Moon you in there?" It was Zed.
"Shit" I mumbled under my breath and we both scrambled up from the bed almost tripping over the covers and each other I tossed her one of my shirts and she quickly put it on.
"Hide under the bed" I whispered to her and she quickly moved under the bed.
I grabbed my boxers, some regular shorts, and a baggy shirt from my dresser and quickly put them on as another knock came to the door "umm you in there?" He called out.
"Yeah, give me a minute!" I called out and I quickly tossed me and Willa's clothes into the closet making sure I looked presentable before walking to the door and opening it.
"Hey! What's up?" I asked leaning against the door and he gave me a weird look.
"Nothing just wanting to make sure you were good since I heard some noises in here earlier" I almost choked on the air when he said that his ass was here and for how long.
"Oh!.... uh I was moving my bed around trying to find my football gear gotta make sure I don't lose it right" I laughed and punched his shoulder and he laughed with me.
"Uh yeah and you uh have some lipstick marks right there are you dating someone?" he asked with a raised brow pointing to his neck and jaw demonstrating where he was seeing it.
I quickly wiped my face and looked down at my hand and saw it was smudged with lipstick goddammit Willa. Next time I'm gonna tell her not to wear makeup.
"You know how lacey is she pretty much never leaves me alone" I said.
"But she doesn't wear-"
"Ok! What did you need to talk about?" He asked.
"Umm I just wanted to talk about what I had said yesterday at school I shouldn't have said those things especially with what you're going through trying to find your pack and all I really hope you can forgive me?" He asked and I smiled.
"Of course I do you big doofus I can't ever stay mad at my little bro for long" I said ruffling his hair and he groaned.
"Oh come on I just brushed it this morning!" He groaned.
"You'll be ok," I said.
"Well I gotta go finish looking for my gear so yeah!" I said and he seemed to get the memo.
"Ok I gotta go meet Eliza for this election vote thing so I'll see you later?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah I'll be there" I said and he nodded and was gonna walk off before he stopped and looked into my room.
"Hey? Who's bra is-" he was gonna ask.
"Ahaha! That's mine, ok bye Zed!" I said and I slammed the door making sure it was locked.
I heard a chuckle behind me and saw Willa already on the bed laughing her ass off.
"You're gonna be the death of me one day and why didn't you warn me about this" I mumbled, gesturing to my smudged hands.
"Oh my bad I felt like I didn't have to since you were too busy moaning my name" she teased and started mocking my voice which made me throw a pillow at her and she laughed again.
"I should get going back to the den anyways" she said, getting up from the bed and pulling on her underwear and taking off my shirt before tossing it back to me and grabbing her bra.
She put it back on before getting her dress and zipping it back up.
"My bad about that I thought Zed was gonna be gone longer" I said and she just shrugged.
"It's fine at least he didn't knock in the middle of it or better yet burst in" she said and we both laughed quietly.
"Yeah you're right that would have been a sight he could never erase from his memory" I replied and we laughed louder.
"Hey Moon? She asked and I turned to her.
"Yeah?"
"When are you coming back home?"
I froze up a little and slumped my shoulders. Believe me I wanted nothing more than to come home with them but I've been here for so long and if I left I didn't know how it was going to affect Zoey or Zed.
"I honestly don't know I know that I have to come back eventually but I just don't know what that's going to do to Zed and Zoey" I explained and my heart ached when I saw a small flash of hurt in her eyes.
"But I definitely know I'm coming back, I just need some time" I said and she gave me a nod.
"I understand you know your room was still the same as you left it?"
"For real, even the skull of the first animal I caught?!"
"Yeah of course!"
"Holy shit" I exclaimed as we both laughed.
"Wynter and Wyatt were right," she said and I raised an eyebrow.
"About what?"
"About making sure we're not just dreaming of you," she replied.
I smiled softly and pulled her into a hug which she returned "even if I wasn't physically here I'll always be there in your hearts" I said lifting her chin with my finger and giving her a small peck on the lips.
"Remember that ok?" I asked and she nodded her head. I gave her another kiss before we both pulled away.
"Also who is lacey" she asked, giving me a pointed look.
"Oh she's a girl who kinda has a small crush on me" I said and her glare hardened.
"Well that crush better vanish" she protested.
"Pretty sure it will since she's pretty scared of you" I explained and a smirk came to her face.
"Good" she said
"I should get going see you tomorrow?" she asked and I nodded and watched as she climbed out the window but not before shooting me a wink before running off.

When Willa made it back to the pack she immediately caught the eye of Wynter who walked up to her quickly.
"Hey! Where were you?" She asked.
"Oh I was with Moon" she explained trying not to smile or get flustered at the mention of her mate.
"With Moon huh?" Wynter asked, wiggling her eyebrows ever since she saw what happened in the library she had been teasing Willa non stop.
"Yes I just said that" Willa responded, rolling her eyes and turning her head away not knowing that Wynter had seen her neck.
"Hey what's that on your neck?" Wynter asked moving Willa's hair aside and her eyes widened when she saw Moon's bite mark.
She quickly grabbed Willa's arms and saw Moon's tattoos and mate marks.
"Oh my God did you guys-"
"Shh" Willa quickly hushed her and pulled Wynter more away from earshot of the pack.
"When did this happen?!" Wynter rambled.
"Well it happened when you guys went to that little cheerleading practice I went to her house and we talked for a little before one thing led to another and well you know" she explained.
"How was it?" Wynter asked, her eyes wide as frying pans.
"Pretty painful at first, kind of rough, slightly fast, but other than that it was amazing" Willa said and Wynter smiled before she pulled her best friend into a hug.
"I'm so happy for you even though I totally wasn't ready for you guys to do it so early," Wynter said, raising an eyebrow.
"Wait, she didn't get you pregnant right?" Wynter asked, cocking her head and Willa looked at her with wide eyes.
"No! Of course not!" She said and Wynter just shrugged.
"Just saying," she replied.
"Also when are we gonna bring Moon back to the den?" She asked.
"I don't know I mean she lives with that zombie so I'm pretty sure she won't come back so quickly especially when it's us against this whole town" Willa said and Wynters face turned into a frown.
Their heads snapped towards the pack when they saw them all coughing and Wyatt tried to help them.
They both looked at each other and knew that they needed Moon urgently despite what she had said.

Meanwhile at cheerleading practice Zed had witnessed Wyatt being a little closer to Addison and ran off with her following after him.
"Zed! Zed! What's wrong?" She asked, grabbing his arm but he just shook it off.
"Werewolves. They're not interested in fitting in. They're into cheer. No, they're into you, and you're into him..." he trailed off feeling his anger get the best of him.
"them. What? Why are you acting like this?"
"Do you know how hard it was for zombies? Now everything is just being handed to the werewolves - on a silver platter" Zed explained.
"Actually, they hate silver"
"I'm trying to win an election for my people, for you. So we can go to Prawn, so we can be accepted." Zed said, his voice raising more.
"That's not being accepted. That's being afraid to show who you really are." Addison snapped back.
"Says the girl who wore a wig her whole life." Zed said and Addison gasped slowly feeling tears come to her eyes at the fact her boyfriend pointed out her biggest insecurity.
Zed's eyes widened when he realized that he had said "Addi I didn't-" he was gonna say but she cut him off.
"Yeah. I did. Because I always felt like an outsider. And even though I might be cheer captain, I still do. You know I don't have a place here! Don't have a zombie crew. I don't know what I am! So, excuse me for respecting a pack of werewolves who are proud of who they are!" She shouted at him before running off in tears.

Addison sat on her bed and took a long look at her phone before turning it om and texted someone who might have not wanted to hear from her, but it was wort a shot.

Addison- hey Moon
Moon- oh hey Addison what's up?
Addison- I was wondering if we could talk? Zed kind of upset me earlier today
Moon- oh...um sure? I'll text Bree to bring some snacks and we'll talk in my room sound good?
Addison- sounds great! See you there!
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
Addison put the phone down and bounced into some new clothes before skipping out of the house she didn't know why but she felt so bubbly around the wolf girl maybe because Moon was so confident about herself since day one and it made Addison look up to her like a sister.
‧˚₊꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒷꒦︶︶︶︶︶꒦꒷‧₊˚⊹
Moon made sure to text Bree before she put her phone down and went to finish her workout before she heard a scratch come to the door.
She immediately paused and sniffed the air smelling Willa's vanilla and lavender scent as well as Wyatt and Wynter's, so she knew who was at the door.
She put her hoodie on over her sports bra and opened the door but was stunned to see the whole pack standing there.
"Come with us Moon" Wyatt said.
"Why?" She asked.
Wynter, Willa, and Wyatt all looked at each other before Wyatt stepped closer to her with a serious look "it's time to come home" he whispered to her.
Moon's eyes widened and she looked at the rest of the pack and they looked a little more drained than they did when they first got here but Wynter looked the worst she was slightly paler, and Moon knew there was no more waiting.
"Let me go grab my shoes" she said and walked into the house.
