Treating your headmates like separate people isn't worsening your condition by default by the way. Treating them with respect isn't making you dissociate more. Final fusion is a fine thing to try and achieve, but people need to understand that functional multiplicity is a thing you can work to achieve in therapy too. Please stop pushing the idea that you need to treat your headmates like a disorder or curse in order to heal. You can be happily multiple if you want that.

We are a simple system. A guy fronts for 6 hours and leaves, and miraculously during that time, all 4 apples we owned disappeared. Something ate them, and it totally wasn't that guy. Him having "likes apples" in his SimplyPlural description has nothing to do with this event at all. Simply a coincidence.

pluralphobes are jealous over your plurality, remember that
edit:
[TEXT ID: Title is Coping with Fakeclaiming by @the-alarm-system.
1.Express concerns to your headmates. being consistently fakeclaimed can harbor feelings of distrust towards your beloved headmates, discussing these feelings can allow the help to reassure anothers existence.
2.Affirmations. According to acendahealth. org, affirmations support positive feelings and ease stress. You may say affirmations outloud, write them down, or say them internally.
3.Taking a break. Whether you are being fakeclaimed in a real life scenario or online, it's healthy to know when to step back from an argument that is actively stressing you out or harming you. Know that your time is both precious and limited, spend it wisely.
4.look at visual reminders. Visual reminders of our plurality could be forms of physical communication like a journal or a simply plural. You could also ask your headmates to leave behind visual reminders(notes etc)
5.Be logical. BE LOGICAL when it comes to fakeclaiming. Those who are faking do not question if they are faking or not. Even if you are a willed headmate, singlets don't question if they are plural or not.

Pertaining to the last ask, to your friends, what does a person like them notice when a system (like you) is switching alters/headmates?
Some answers from our partner:
- Voice changes, pitch, tone, way of speaking. Even when masking there are tells like pauses between words, or different words used, or pronounciation of words (like the brits pronouncing words brit-way and Mahito's "t"s).
(Mahito's "t"s referring to Mahito pronouncing his t's very harshly in most words.) Some of us speak with more energy even when masking (like Red) or much less (like Dain).
Some people (Soul, Vince) use words like "quite" much more often than others. There's other vocabulary differences like that.
- Ways of moving. Different way you sit, different ways you walk, how much you trip, some people (Merlin) act like they've never had legs before.
We've been told by others that Crowley walks with a "smug aura" and that Vena walks "like a businessman". I think a friend once said Vince has a "overly confident straight male" walk.
Shrapnel and Onslaught are known to sit as spread out as possible (subconsciously, they aren't deliberate about it)--to the point where Onslaught's girlfriend has to remind him. Onslaught and Heart tend to put their feet up where possible. Dain tends to sit making himself as small as possible.
Some people need our cane more often than others because they're worse at walking--Merlin, Mystery, Fin, Mike, etc.
What foods/drinks you go for.
Vince and Shrapnel both have different regular cafes they prefer to go to--Shrapnel having specific drink orders as well. Merlin is known to mainly go for fruits and berries if he can get his hands on them, while Shrapnel and Rave normally go for something spicy.
So.... In the end, it's a lot of small patterns people can notice that might seem like regular day-to-day differences. After all, someone pronouncing things a little weirdly and wanting to go to a specific cafe one day doesn't make them a system! But sometimes, those things happen because of a system. But because differences in routine and life are part of being a person in general, there's not really that much of a line between "singlet who wants to go to this store for a change" and "this headmate really only likes this one specific store and fronted for the first time in 6 months". That's why it's hard to identify a system unless they tell you, in a lot of cases--if you can't see what's going on internally, differences are easy to brush off!
#hope that explains some of it!#theres more but its hard to gather details without like#putting out a survey of “what have you noticed about the interstellar system and their differences in fronters” lol#ask#anonymous#sys artist: soul#interstellar speaks#cdd#cdd system#osddid#dissociative identity disorder#disordered system#did system#actually did#plural#pluralgang#actually plural#plural system#plurality#alterhuman#pluralpunk#syspunk#endo safe#cdd inclus

If your trauma caused you to split, then you were traumatized 'enough' to be traumagenic/have DID, OSDD or what have you. Trauma isn't always from a parent: it can be peer bullying/shunning, sibling abuse, near death experiences, experiencing death of a loved one or even a stranger, medical trauma, etc.
I will go one step further and say that if your system experience isn't purely traumagenic, and you're pushed out of supposed safe spaces because of it, don't feel pressured to change the labels that feel right for y'all. I have half a heart to not post this in traumagenic tags, because SO MANY traumagenic systems are anti endo it seems. But mixed origin systems exist, endo systems exist, non-disordered traumagenic systems exist, etc and plurality is such a large umbrella of different experiences (even yours!).
You're doing nothing wrong by existing.

Anti endos claiming that they aren't abelist while fakeclaiming nontraumagenic systems that come from other disorders
Hi hello, we're a schizophrenic system, plurality has always been a symptom of my schizotypy, since I was as young as 11 I have been going through the cycle of experience plurality for a while -> freak out that I'm weird and crazy -> suppress it until it goes away for a while -> pretend it never happened -> experience plurality again within a year
It has gone away many times but it always came back and I'm currently at the beginning of breaking that cycle, this time I'm not letting ableists tell me what's going on in my brain.
It's not even sysmedicalism at this point because me and my system FIT into a medical model, the only difference is that our personality states are separated by psychotic symptoms instead of dissociative ones but I guarantee we're still gonna get hate for this
I'm literally in therapy for my psychosis and I am openly plural. CDDs aren't even on the table for potential diagnoses. My therapist is actively supporting me in recovering my plurality because he believes that it is a benign symptom
I personally know another schizogenic system, he doesn't use that terminology because he's like. In his late 40s and doesn't use the Internet much, but he was telling me one day about how one of the things his schizoaffective causes is extra people in his head and how sometimes they do things and he has to work together with them. And I had this awesome moment with him where I was like "wait. Really? I have that too!" I'd never met another system irl and the first one I met was a forty-something endo old head on the downtown streets. Because people in the real world don't give a shit about your online discourse. M and his headmates don't know or care that anti endos exist, he's busy hustling, he has bigger problems than some teenage DID sys who's inevitably going to come in my askbox and say I made him up. And you know what. So do I. Come into my askbox. It'll give me something to laugh at with my hot schizo gf while we try to get this housing shit sorted.

I love being plural. And I love being in relationships within my system.
Some nights, when cofronting with Shigaraki, we'll need to walk outside for whatever reason. We live in a caravan (yay housing market crisis!) and don't have running water, so we need to walk through the garden to our parents house if we need anything involving that. It's nice, though, to be able to be outside at night so often. The moon is cool to look at, and sometimes there's interesting stuff going on out there.
Nice for Shig in his own way too. You see, he's arthropodhearted, and lots of bugs come out at night. Particularly, you'll see pill bugs, snails and millipedes moving across the cement path between the gardens on either side. We're always careful not to step on any when we need to move through there. But sometimes, cofronting with me, Shigaraki will stop and crouch down to have a look at them. He loves bugs of really any sort, and when sharing the body with him, I can feel it.
I feel when he sees a pill bug with an interesting pattern and smiles just a little wider. When he sees tiny little baby ones and wants to hold them so bad, but doesn't in case he'd hurt them--our fingertips many times bigger than they are. I feel when he spots a tiny spider scurrying under a leaf and out of sight, and wonders if he'll ever get to see it again. I feel when he sees a millipede and without fail every time, gets filled with joy and the internal resonation that only really comes from seeing something so close to your kintype. I feel him wonder if he'll get to see a centipede walking around out there soon, and how excited he is at the idea. I feel all of his emotions from looking at these tiny little animals and I can't help but feel my own fondness too--for him mostly, but the bugs as well. I won't lie and say I haven't gained an interest in them since we became QPPs.
I go shopping with Red, sometimes--he's my other QPP. I can feel when we're both getting a little hungry, and walk us over to some place to eat. I can buy his usual order for him and feel as happy as him when he eats--I can almost taste the food the same way he does too. I feel when he sees something exciting and can't help but feel excited with him. I can feel his phantom wings perk up a little when the wind hits just right and his dragon brain wants to fly. I can feel him laughing at my stupid jokes, and I can feel his love for me too.
If we were presented with the opportunity to have separate bodies, I don't think we'd take it unless we could become plural again at will. There's too much closeness tied to being in the same body that we wouldn't want to lose. What would we do if we suddenly couldn't feel each other smile anymore? Feel each other laugh with the same throat and lungs? Feel each other's phantom limbs, tails gently intertwining while we're wrapped up in a nice warm blanket? Feel the little things that bring each of us joy, as strong as if it were our own?
Being a system has its drawbacks. It really sucks sometimes. It can downright hurt. Especially for a disordered system like us. But there's a uniqueness in being within the same body as your partner that's so hard to describe... but it's so integral to what we are right now that I don't think it'd ever be the same without it.

Been seeing a lot of "endos DNI, also mixed origin systems and endo supporters included in the DNI too" lately, much more than usual. Which is absolutely ridiculous coming from the people claiming to protect "real DID/OSDD" systems, considering as long as you support endogenics you're added into the DNIs and grouped in as a "fake". Looks like they have their priorities straight! Definitely looks like it's about protecting disordered systems and not about simple exclusionism to me!
SO. On that sarcastic note.
Mixed origin systems, you deserve supportive spaces. You should be able to access both traumagenic and endogenic spaces if both apply to you. You don't deserve to be cast aside like that. If you have traumagenic aspects to your system, you belong in traumagenic spaces. If you have endogenic aspects to your system, you belong in endogenic spaces. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
Disordered endogenic systems, you should have access to spaces for people with your disorder and I hope you're able to find the support you need. I hope you're able to avoid the discourse and find a community you can feel safe in. You're not less disordered because you're endogenic.
Systems of any origin with CDDs such as DID or OSDD who support endogenics, you shouldn't be barred from your own spaces because you support other groups. You deserve kindness, support, and community, just as anyone else does. Your support of endogenics does not and will never mean you should be removed from CDD spaces and it certainly doesn't mean you're unsafe for those with CDDs to be around.
Endogenic supporters of any kind, your support is immensely appreciated. You also don't deserve to be picked apart and cast out simply based on your support of a group of people. Genuinely thank you for supporting endogenics regardless.

We're obviously pro-endo and have a lot of headmates who are endogenic, but we do have DID and a lot of trauma worked its way into our formation of our system. Which leaves us in a pretty weird spot in syscourse!
But one of the weirdest things we've noticed is... A lot of the anti endo mindset is completely anti recovery for CDD systems entirely, while claiming to protect them. Often there's the sort of ableist rhetoric that's all about "if you're not suffering, you're not disordered and therefore mocking us or fake".. Which is ridiculous to say the least!
We've seen claims of:
Systems are fake if they're happy they're a system, because if you're happy you're a system then you can't have been traumatised enough to get there.
Systems are fake if they love their headmates in any way, because plurality is a disorder.
Systems are fake if they post "too much" about being happy online, because being plural is a disorder and therefore suffering.
Systems are fake if they never show signs of suffering online.
Systems are fake if they're open about being a system IRL or sometimes at all, because it's a deeply shameful thing.
Systems are fake if they have less amnesia than full-on blackout amnesia, because it's in the DSM.
Systems are fake if they don't dissociate much, because it's in the name of the disorder and the DSM.
And we're here to say that's all plainly incorrect at best. It's also incredibly ableist, anti-recovery and downright harmful to CDD systems who learn they have this disorder, go online for support, and just see discourse and people getting fakeclaimed if they don't show of how much they're suffering online.
Systems can be happy that they're plural. Even if it came from trauma. Why? Well you can be happy that you're any way you are, regardless of how you got there, obviously. But there's also a crucial point here that CDDs and headmates often develop to protect people from trauma. Of course some systems would be glad that they're plural, in a lot of cases it's what literally saved their lives. This goes for the "systems can't love their headmates" thing too--plenty of systems are full of love for their headmates! Not only because they were there for them when it was needed, but because these are--depending on your view--entire people you live with, or parts of yourself. Why are you implying you have to hate that so viscerally to be real?
It's also a pretty well known thing that people tend to post their happier moments online, leading to this perception that they don't suffer. One, because that's how a lot of people work--their personal pages are public after all, and they don't want to be seen as constistently struggling. Two, it's downright dangerous to post in so much detail about your triggers, your trauma and abuse you're currently facing on the internet--even ignoring the fact that you need to be wary of your digital footprint, people can read these posts and use information against you. It's a choice many people make to not hand random people ammo on a silver plate.
Claiming that systems are fake if they're open about being plural in any space is simply ablesim. We've seen this take quite a few times, actually, and it never fails to be some of the most ridiculous ableism we've seen--it comes with a puritan "sweep it under the rug" mindset and the expectation that systems are ashamed of their plurality by default, or that it's simply too dangerous to share. While for a lot of people it is very dangerous to talk about their system so they simply keep that information to themselves, claiming every system should hide it for their entire lives and not expect to be received with kindness, compassion or accommodation is horrible.
As for the amnesia and dissociation... Therapy can help with these! You can actively go to therapy and get strategies to deal with the symptoms that come with a CDD without even going down the final fusion route! You can get it to a point where you have communication with your headmates, where you can switch on command, where you don't dissociate much at all.... You can work toward these goals with the right tools! Why does a system like us who's worked through years of therapy and years of working with ourselves within our own system suddenly get called fake once we start healing?
CDD systems should not have to fit what YOU think a true system should look like. They shouldn't have to suffer on show for you to believe them. They shouldn't have to hide all of themselves away in shame and never have their true selves known. They shouldn't have to pretend they're not recovering to be treated as real. They shouldn't have to feel like they'll be persecuted for simply being happy with who they are as people, or happy with how far they've come.
"Being a system isn't all fun and games" and I'm sure it's not for plenty of people. But do you think it's ok when a CDD system says they love themselves and think their system is fun? Or do you group them in with the endogenics who are "mocking [your] trauma"? Do you really care about people with CDDs at all in that case?
You can say "anti endos aren't ableist because endogenic plurality isn't a disorder" all you like--you're wrong about endogenics not being able to have CDDs by the way, but that's another post--but when you display so much ableist rhetoric toward your fellow CDD systems, I don't know how anyone can see you as "protecting" those with the disorders at all. You can't hide your hatred behind the guise of "protection" when you're harming your own community. You're not protecting us from anyone, you're trying to make us fit into a box full of spikes. It was never about protecting trauma survivors, it was about your personal hatred for others. We shouldn't have to suffer for you.
