I feel like the best part about the new april fools groups is that they aren’t even unit swaps. It’s more like groups forced to work together because they got stuck in a specific part of the past/future.

So for all we know, this is in the same universe as the canon story except their sekai bugged and sent them to different time periods (at least sekai versions of different times) which is honestly really funny and compelling. It looks like a unit swap but looking at the names and what happens in the event (??), it’s the equivalent of just some losers who end up on a deserted island with no one but each other, trying to find their way home.

The implications of them having their old unit are funny too cause imagine them sharing this shit with each other 😭🙏🏻 like “emu. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU BEFRIENDED ROBOTS?? I ALMOST GOT EATEN BY A DINOSAUR?????!!!!”

i actually thought about it some more, and i think the new dun/meshi fandom really does remind me of some of the more annoying fandoms i've seen. i remember being a teenager and seeing people on here say you're problematic if you like lapis lazuli from steven universe because she was mean to peridot one time, and i was baffled back then and i am now.

They're just another type of animal, only a more anthropomorphic kind than others that can also be found here on Earth. I've never seen anyone use any different special terms for them.

Why would they be called "mobians"? That seems to imply that they come from a place of a similar name. Is it some kind of country I haven't heard about?

“Ukyo, care for a magic trick?” Gen asked out of the blue one afternoon, hands tucked away in his sleeves as he smiled at the older man.

“....What?” Ukyo blinked, half out of drowsiness from the early morning and half from confusion. That was usually a question reserved for the younger kids or Chrome. It was weird hearing it directed at him. “Why?”

“Why not? Don’t tell me you don’t believe.” Gen waggled his brows, his smile never dropping. “Besides, you're the best person for testing it.”

Ah. He understood now. “If you need a volunteer for your magic, why didn’t you say so?” Stretching his arms out, he followed the mentalist away from the village, entering a small clearing near the edge of the forest. Once there, he folded his arms across his chest, rocking on his heels as he waited. “Kay, now what?”

“Patience, magic takes time.” Gen flapped his hands, shaking his sleeves out of the way. He raised both hands, showing the front and back. “As you can see- there’s nothing here.” He nodded before stepping forward, suddenly very close to the taller man. “Now…what’s that behind your ear?”

“That old trick? Gen, I’ve seen you do it a hundred times-” Ukyo was about to point out how it was a favorite among the children when he was cut off suddenly as Gen’s fingers wiggled, making him duck down with a choked yelp. “G-Gen!”

“Hmm…wait, hold on- I lost it.” Gen reached further up, pressing into the sensitive spots behind the lobes. “It was here just a second ago.”

“Lohohohohoohohost whahahhahaht, yhohoohhoohohur mihihihihihind?” Ukyo scrunched further, cheeks starting to pink from how much he was giggling. He reached out to grab Gen’s wrist, pushing gently. “Stahhahahhap thahhahahaht! I’m noohohohohot a khiihihihihihd!”

“Hmm..was it this ear or…” Gen alternated which side he pressed, wiggling a finger behind both ears. “Maybe it was here?” He ran a hand back further so he could get Ukyo’s neck. “I might have dropped it down your collar?”

“Aheheheheheheh-EhehheHE!” Ukyo all but collapsed on his knees when Gen lightly scratched his shoulder blades, scrunching the best he could as his neck and ears were once again attacked. “Geheehheehehehehehn, whahahahhahahahait!” 

“Hmm…not here, not there…” Gen danced around him before sliding fingers into Ukyo’s armpits, making him arch with a squeal. “Hmm, maybe it’s here!”

“GEHHEHEHEHEN! AHEHAHAHHAHAHAHAA!” Ukyo cried, cheeks bright red and eyes watery with mirth. He squirmed this way and that, flailing about before falling over completely. He tried to push up and get away, but the mentalist had taken a seat on his back, fingers drilling into his armpits and upper ribs with reckless abandon. “PLEAHHAHAHSE IT TIIIHIHIHIHICKLES!”

“Does it now?” Gen grinned, laughing softly as he finally came to an end. “Oh, look what I found!” With a flick of his wrist, he brought his hand around and showed Ukyo a delicate white flower. “Stashed behind your ear this entire time! Thanks for letting me use you for practice, Ukyo!.”

“Heh…hehe…” Ukyo was too tired to question it, giving a tired thumbs up before face planting against the dirt.

Gen’s delighted cackles were quick to fill the area soon after.
