Unpleasant Revelations - DPxDC Ficlet Idea for the Stillborn Au

"Have you met my youngest, Damian, Mr. Masters?"

Its only from twenty years of long, hard experience and practice that Vlad doesn't increase the room temperature from 'borderline uncomfortably cool' to 'unbearably hot' the moment Bruce Wayne pulls his youngest and "only" biological son out in front of him.

He puts only in quotations because twelve year old Damian Wayne looks scarily, uncannily like one Daniel Brown. Jack and Maddie's foster son, second victim of their foolishness, and only other halfa in existence. Second only to him.

It's nauseating how similar they look. From the scowl and terrible glare on the young boy's face, to his brown skin -- which was only a few shades lighter than Daniel's, the shape of his nose, and even the strange winged edge of his eyebrow. Something that Vlad has long since come to find endearing on the child he considered a son of his own. The only difference was that Damian had dark, sharp green eyes.

Daniel's eyes were blue. The same glacier shade as his father's, who stood behind Damian with a proud, oafish smile on his visage.

It was infuriating how similar they look. Vlad might not have rapidly swung the room temperature from one extreme to the other, but he can't stop himself from letting the fury burning within his core from slipping out and raising the temperature up a few degrees.

Because it really only meant one thing.

Damian Wayne and Daniel Brown were related.

Damian Wayne and Daniel Brown were brothers.

Standing in front of him, it was clear as day. He can already picture a phantom image of Daniel standing beside Damian, the same scowl written on his face, the same glare carved into his eyes. The only difference being the dark, exhausted circles beneath them that seemed to be permanently painted onto his skin. The only thing missing being the permanent loneliness and vigilance permeating his being like a scar.

This, if revealed, would be enough to ruin Bruce Wayne's reputation. Or, at the very least, darken it quite a bit. The great philanthropist Bruce Wayne with another secret blood child? One related to his youngest? One that had been put into foster care? Seemingly thrown away?

It would be a firestorm.

One that Vlad is not keen on starting.

It would ruin Bruce Wayne's reputation, yes. But it would hurt Daniel in the process -- the harassment he would face alone might just be enough to break that fragile child completely. That was just not something he could allow. Or, even worse, bring him into his biological father's care and custody -- something Vlad was even less willing to allow.

It's not out of kindness to Wayne that Vlad will keep mum about this.

His grip on his champagne flute tightens, just a bit. He's still aware enough of the world around him to not let it shatter in his hands. His plastered, pleasant smile tightens around the corners, and he forces his focus to slide from Damian to Wayne.

"The resemblance is uncanny, Mister Wayne." He says, slanting his smile to the side slyly. Although he's not talking about the resemblance between Wayne and his son. Rage simmers beneath his skin, burning coal and embers in the core of his chest, nestled between his lungs, as he meets the man's eyes.

Wayne swaggles his head proudly, his ditzy smile widening as he squeezes his son's shoulder affectionately. Bastard, Vlad wants to spit.

He breathes in through his nose, and exhales out through his mouth. The champagne in his hand cools, and stops its unusual bubbling.

The Damian boy scoffs under his breath, his mouth still coiled upward into a scowl. With the revelation of his blood relation to Daniel evident, Vlad's not sure if he should find it endearing or not.

He is not Daniel, so he decides that it's just simply irritating. He decides to ignore it.

"And you said he was your only biological son?" He asks, voice lilting and head tilting. He knows its a suspicious question at worst, insulting at best. But considering Wayne's past proclivities, he can hardly call it an unexpected question.

Damian puffs in great offense, face twisting angrily. It reminds him of Daniel when Vlad insisted that he was wrong about something or other, and for a moment his heart swells, fond.

But this is not his child, and so the feeling quickly crashes and burns, simmering back into rage. This was not Daniel -- this was his replacement. A replacement that Wayne was free to keep.

Wayne chuckles, idiotically, as if he'd said some funny joke. Vlad's other hand, the one gripping his cane -- something he's required ever since he was dispatched from the hospital all those lonely years ago -- tightens instead. He grinds his teeth -- him and Jack Fenton would get along like a house on fire, he hates it.

"I can understand why you'd ask that, Mister Masters," Wayne says, squeezing Damian's shoulder again, "but yes, Damian is my only biological son. Although that doesn't mean I don't love my other children any less."

Bastard.

For all his posturing and flouncing about caring for his city and his children, Vlad never would have thought the Prince of Gotham capable of abandoning one of them.

But, well.

They all have their dark secrets.

And what one man throws away, another man picks up. If Bruce Wayne didn't want the treasure child that was Daniel Brown, then Vlad Masters was more than happy to take him instead.

"I see."

I really need to get this out of my system so I have been sitting on this idea for a while it hasn't left me yet funny thing is I was looking at art that has nothing to do with this idea when I thought of it ok so Vlad accidentally clones himself the clone is younger than him teenagers and is stable the clone aka Victor has a similar personality to Vlad but a lot less creepy and conniving and more sassy and spiteful eventually Victor decides he wants nothing to do with Vlad (cuz he's creepy and obsessed with a married woman) so he goes and bugs Danny

Ectoberweek Day 6 | Ecto-Acne

Goddamnit Danny your bfs and gf got ecto-acned (again)

Out of curiosity. Have you had any ideas for Vlad?

He seems like he'd be difficult to design for the AU given how he 'died'.

Well, this one might be a bit of a gross description so keep that in mind when going beyond the read more cut

At the very least he'd look as though he was still covered in ecto-acne, perhaps way worse than we've ever seen on the show

He could even have somewhat along the lines of burn marks all over his face and glazed-over eyes since the proto-portal blasted him right in the face (although as far as we know the proto-portal didn't kill him right away, he likely died during his time in the hospital due to the lethal ecto-acne, he could still have been left with burn marks in ghost form if he died from the acne before the burns healed)

Heck, I'd imagine that some of the ecto-acne postules probably popped and left his skin full of craters/holes where there aren't postules (which, while gross, could also be kinda funny because of the cheese, so part of the reason why he gets known as the Wisconsin Ghost is because he also looks -and possibly smells- like cheese, pff)

It is kind of hilarious to imagine that Vlad thinks his ghost form is this handsome vampire lookalike, but in actuality humans think he's some gross blue cheese ghost XD Like with Danny, it does help keep people from making the connection between Vlad Masters and the Wisconsin Ghost though

Standard 'cultists demand the ghost king destroy and remake the world,' but danny answers with:

"Been there, done that, its not nearly as satisfying as it sounds."

Because, canonically, he HAS. Multiple times.

Not only has he aborted the timeline that created dan, but he also had another alternate timeline adventure to try to stop vlad and cure the ecto acne.

He also used the reality guantlet to fix the changes that freakshow made.

If one is generous, you can also count any event in which a rogue was on the verge of 'taking over the world' and he stopped them just before they could get into the swing of things. This includes but isn't limited to: pariah dark, technus, ember, undergrowth, and nocturne.

And if you're being generous about that, you can count the infi-map adventure, where he repeatedly prevented vlad from taking over the world AND left his mark on history.

(But we're all just gonna ignore the disasteroid, unless we want to make it canon with a mindwipe that erases everyones memories, then it counts TWICE.)

And THEN, because this is already a ghost king au, you can imply any number of other events that are a consequence of the title. Maybe clockwork has used him a few times to deliberately alter some event for the better.

So danny just drops that bomb on the cultists, and they're just like, what? And danny just rambles on that the world is already the way he wants it and they're cultists that worship him so they shouldn't question his judgment, and the cultists are like, 'no we're binding you to us to do our bidding.'

Danny, because he already knows he's immune to binding spells and expected that answer anyways, just doubles down, 'do you really think I'd remake the world in a way that would allow someone to take away my agency? You should be grateful you even exist with the agency to come up with such stupid ideas.'

The justice league slash bats slash whoever crashed the summoning or got used as a sacrifice, have no idea how to handle all of this information. Danny is a 'capital G' God, and God is a snarky teenager who clearly doesn't get enough sleep. One of these days, he's gonna get summoned and just snap, and there's gonna be nothing they can do about it.

I always see people give vlad a Count Dracula kinda design and its cool and all but one time I sat and thought hey, Vlad, doesnt sound like an american name. And isn't Vlad short for Vladimir? Long story short he's Russian now. (In my au! Don't come at me people,,,)

I thought it fit his personality well enough, greedy, cunning, with high education that he is not using enough, and always looking for ways to work as little as possible.

How he got to America is fairly simple, his parents born in the soviet union didn't agree with the communist party so they fled to America where Vlad was born, that’s all.

In his design i have only taken a little inspiration from slavic royal attire, the rest is from how ectoplasm naturally settles combined with Vlad's preferences in how he looks. (Yes he has black teeth, yes his mouth is glowing from the inside.)

How Vlad died is much more interesting tho, radiation poisoning.

It started shortly after the portal exploded on his face, with skin ulcers (his 'ecto acne' ,  Is one major symptom of radiation poisoning), continued with organ failure, and ended with a series of seizures with the last one on his bathroom floor while bleeding from every hole in his body. The whole metamorphosis lasted about a year.

What happened is that he didn't die quickly like Danny had, he didn't shift to a ghost form right away because he didn't have one yet. He hasn't died yet. Without the huge amount of ectoplasm Danny had the suit that kept him together Vlad's ghost-half formed gradually and so slowly that he couldn’t tap into it while in the 3rd dimension for another year after he died and came back.

His death has formed a core, the electric shock from its awakening is what revived him. The poisoning stopped, he already died, the core kept him alive until the body recovered enough to function on its own.

That's a lot of angst 

Uh, um, he also less cares about Maddie herself and more about taking everything from Jack which is who he blames for his death.

So yeah, poor guy :'o his hate for Jack is now very justified.

Some of my own contributions to the dp fairy godparent au~

The first 4 pics are a short comic using @furiarossa 's fairy vlad design. Danny uses jack and maddies fairy powers for good, and dear old vladdy is preying on that...

Then i tried my hand at my own fairy vlad concept, heavily inspired by furiarossa's ofc, because i was struggling hard with the comic(it was actually supposed to be longer, but i just couldnt get things to look the way i wanted) Unfortunately even with my own design the fop style was just not fun :']

Sooooo then i made some dp styled fairy versions! I practiced the vlad one by redrawing one of the panels with it. And a fun fact; the wand they share looks different depending on whos holding it, hence the different wand designs! I honestly just really wanted them to have unique wands and then thought itd be neat if it changed shape

Also of note for both fop and dp style, vlad's hidden tattered wings are the replacement for his ecto-acne in this au

You know I had this real random au I made on discord on my other account that I logged out of and subsequently lost!

Where Vlad was a priest and Plasmius is his contractually obligated partner.

Except, said contract is actually 50-50 all the way on the scale of a good deal, but meh.

So baaaaaaasically, Plasmius was (I think) a demon that appeared before Vlad while he was in the hospital suffering from Ecto-acne and basically gave him a:

"Bind yourself to me or die."

Offer.

Like, literally. Vlad became Plasmius' vessel in the mortal world and Vlad is free to live his life. Well, whenever Plasmius wasn't living his life that is.

Which is pretty rare but anyways.

Vlad was a goddamn workaholic who spent most of his time working away on whatever little thing he could, before the rest of that time was spent with Plasmius taking over his body and doing whatever he wanted.

Most of which, due to having a mortal vessel and not as durable as his demon body, ended up with Vlad being injured a few times than not before Plasmius got a grasp on what Vlad's body could and couldn't take, well, compared to his other human vessels he's had in the past of course.

Then, a few years later, or whatever, Vlad and Plasmius have been going around killing a multitude of priests. Mostly the ones that have a high position and the like, and having Vlad replace them and work there for a while.

Why?

Because Plasmius wanted to find a suitable vessel for his son.

Which Vlad was totally a-okay, the killing priests part and taking their place he means. Taking over their roles were surprisingly easy, and he's memorized enough verses that he could recite the entire thing back-to-back from book to book with no real difficulty.

Oh, and he also found how to make holy water! And he could even confidently say that it works because, hey! He's literally the guy being possessed right now, and if it works against him then it'll definitely work on your probably possessed child, miss Samantha!

(He doesn't tell about the demon possessing him part of course, because that would be more paint something that most surely works in a negative light.)

It quite literally never even became a thought in his mind to try and use said holy water against, well, you know. The literal demon possessing him.

But hey, Plasmius brought it up once and Vlad just gave him the most, blank-eyed stare he's ever seen, and then just moved on with his life.

And Plasmius?

Well shit, he's realized he's picked a wonderful vessel.

(Usually, they would try to eject or kill him at their first opportunity, which is quite rude since he helped. But y'know, past is past and what not.)

So then comes time, after Vlad's like, 25th switcharoo they managed to find a picture perfect vessel for Plasmius' son, and he's like:

Plasmius: Kill him.

Vlad: What-

Like, kill priests? Sure no problem Vlad legit does not care, but killing a child? Not something he can do, he gets some shade for his decision, of course, but he's adamant about it.

So Plasmius, powerful demon from hell who is used to taking what he wants.

Lets him.

At the cost of the boy becoming his son's newest and first ever vessel of course.

And Vlad was kinda on the fence about this, but due to the contract- in which he stated that he'll do anything so long as he lives- is, well, there, he had to chose between the two.

And that, was how one young Daniel Fenton, was made the vessel of demon going by the name of Phantom.

Of course, he wasn't happy about such a thing, but it was going to happen eventually, so at least compared to the original plan he'll live.

(Can't remember if Danny's fam was alive or not here, so I'll just say they dead as hell in that Nasty Burger explosion. Cept it was more of a celebration thing, and Danny was running a little late on his way there and then BOOM.)

Vlad tries to make Danny as comfortable as possible after the possession, and of course Danny isn't happy about it, give all three of them snark and sass and being a genuine little shit. Except Phantom doesn't like that, and since Danny is the equivalent of a newly gotten toy, it doesn't end well for him.

Mostly, in the form of numerous injuries that leads to Plasmius lecturing his son about how fragile mortals are and some- looking at Vlad- even more fragile than some others

You know, since he was trapped in a bed for years and all that.

So then Plasmius and Danny wander around, dragging their vessels along behind them. Vlad and Danny do get a quiet a bit closer during this time, Vlad explaning that hey, he didn't want to subject a child to his fate, but it was either that or death so.

And that kinda thaws the ice a little between them.

Vlad says that it'll eventually get better, he's been at this for years and Plasmius regards him as either his most loyal henchmen.

Which is an upgrade from being viewed as a pet since he can actually add his opinions now, well, he could before but now Plasmius would actually take them into consideration if Vlad doesn't wanna do this or that.

Danny is very obviously bummed out about that, and also kinda pitying Vlad but is also still dealing with the trauma of his family and friends exploding and then having to share (Not really even THAT) a body with a demon who leaves him injured far more often than not because of his stunts.

Well, you could say he isn't having a good time.

Then, cut to a while later, and Vlad managed to make these things that allow for them to be separated, but not past a certain point.

Why?

Because Vlad was getting tired about Plasmius' wants for his body getting in the way of working through Vladco (a business idea he pitched and Plasmius backed once he found out he needed money) and there's only so much mental calculations he could do before he tries to find a way around this.

Plasmius thought that Vlad was finally about to do the expected 'fight back against the possessor' and was even a little hurt, before realizing that no, said thought still hasn't crossed his host's mind and he's just upset that he couldn't work on Vladco because of Plasmius' need of his body.

Plasmius, once again. Realized he picked a wonderful host, though this time he thinks there may be a little something wrong with him.

But that's okay, he still loves his henchmen regardless.

Meanwhile, Danny and Phantom are ecstatic, more so Phantom than Danny, and instantly use them. Thankfully, unlike the rings Vlad and Plasmius have, they have bracelets, the point extends city wide comfortably, a fair bit while past that if they strain it though.

So, Danny has been having the best time of his life now, able to spend it doing normal teen things instead of stunts that'll injure him or kill him and having fun.

Phantom?

Well.

He joined the Super scene.

If I remember correctly, he was a hero and his father played the villain, mostly because Phantom wanted to play as a hero, but he didn't have a nemesis like everyone else or something so-

Then for Phantom and Dann's birthday (Phantom kinda declared Danny's birthday his because it was the day he came to the mortal plane), Plasmius decided to kidnap various heroes to participate in an escape game that's really just an elaborate ploy for said party.

Some balloons here and there, confetti, a few gifts and a lot of things you wouldn't expect when kidnapped by a villain. Then at the end there was a birthday cake and a Happy birthday sign hung up there.

Then a Tv turned on and it showed Plasmius, sitting there in a classic villain chair with Vlad standing next to him- a surprise to most heroes there since Vladco was relatively clean actually- and then Plasmius going Happy birthday and then waving over at Vlad saying that he planned most of it.

Kidnapping various heroes was his idea, of course.

But everything else, from the design of each room to the traps to gifts and all of that, and Phantom excitedly shouts a thanks Dad and Papa, with Danny giving a quieter thanks Dad, which leaves the two of them shocked. Then Vlad, who was currently standing to Plasmius' side and working through Vladco investments and business opportunities, tries to play it cool but everyone (heroes included) can see the pink dusting his ears.

While Plasmius is just laughing his ass off at Vlad's reaction.

That's all I can remember right now, of course with a few tweaks here and there because, well, you can probably tell why.

Oh right, there was also this funny thing where, because of the matching rings that Vlad made and the two were wearing. The heroes thought they were married lmao.

Silly Danny Phantom Headcanons/AUs

Vlad’s outfit looks the way it does because he finally “died” after the slow process of his ecto acne while dressed up for halloween.

Danny sends Vlad a Christmas/Hanukah present every year. It’s a box of fruit loops.

Danny Phantom, but Vlad is just a mildly annoying rich guy that Danny likes to mess with and no one ever believes Vlad that a ghost/Danny is messing with him.

More DP X DC au ideas:

1- the clown population (both living and deceased) are getting tired of the bad rap they are getting due to two bad eggs: Joker and Freakshow. They demand expulsion.

2- A lot dp x dc crossovers have danny as bio related to the Wayne's, but I give you Danny Dent, son of Harvey aka Two-face. Maybe Danny's accident is similar to his father's psychosis. (Where phantom and Danny are seperate personalities maybe) or its a case of balancing out the personalities so Harvey can be with his son.

3- Halloween is soon and the Veil is thin, some ghosts appear how they look like when they died. For some ghosts, it is a very sensitive time, and they are vulnerable. Nearing time, Damian will look like part of his chest was punctured and Jason will start to smell like smoke, is lit on fire and his body feels week and beaten. For Vlad 's form, his face starts to get disfigured with ecto acne or slight melting. For Dani's form, she starts to melt like a puddle of goop and has a hard time keeping shape. For Danny's form, he either smells like burnt flesh, darkened form with a punctured wound on the arm that touched the button with tear tracks down his face or this form is bigger and more elderitch looking as the Portal consumed a massive amount of energy to work. (Maybe size of a two-story building)

Au where Vlad giving Danny’s friends ecto acne backfires spectacularly.

Specifically, I want the issue that causes it to be an ectoplasm overdose without a ghost core to regulate it, rather than Vlad having the power of coke cola flowing through his veins.

Danny learns this by asking frostbite, and Vlad would never ask a ghost about human health, (or his own health in particular due to it displaying weakness) so he’s completely in the dark until Danny tells him.

Danny avoided this fate by dying and getting a core before his body really had to worry about regulating ectoplasm.

Though with the food in his house it would have come up at some point.

Or maybe exposure from conception allowed his body to remove it like any other waste product, and it wouldn’t have been an issue for him without the portal, he just wouldn’t have developed powers like Vlad did.

Tucker gets cured by re-merging with his ghost half from the Tucker phantom episode.

Sam gets cured either by merging with undergrowth himself, or by merging with a core he made for her to use.

Vlad originally learned to suppress his condition by mentally controlling the ectoplasm in his body and using his powers to an excessive degree to acquire his wealth and power, but his human body could only tolerate so much as old age came into the picture.

Basically that forcefully exerting control over the ectoplasm without a core was a delay tactic, and the timer has run out.

(And perhaps permanent damage from his first fight with ecto acne has gotten worse over time)

Vlad is left to his own devices because he was getting by with being some sort of ghost hybrid without a core, and nobody is willing to give him one.

Maybe Vlad even loses his half ghost status, as without a core from somewhere, his only option to survive is either to become a full ghost, or have his ghost half removed by the ghost catcher.

(Danny canonically only saved Vlad’s life because his best friends were held as collateral, without that Vlad’s on his own for the most part)

Or maybe Vlad is unwilling to accept a donor core(though who would provide I don’t know, as Danny would never allow an unwilling participant to do so), as it would make him give up some individuality that he’s just not willing to part with under any circumstances, including death.

And there’s no way he’d tell Maddie about his ghost half so she could get a better look at the problem, as that would involve admitting to her both that he is something she hates, and admitting to so much wrongdoing to her face, and he would never willingly compromise her view of him.

Basically, I want the result of Vlad’s folly to be that not only does he give Danny’s friends half ghost status, but that out of necessity he gives up his own. (Rather that be via ghost catcher or just fully dying)

Fun (scary) fact: Amity park's citizens will die of cancer, furthermore, at 'young' age (30-50's years) because ectoplasmic pollution (small particles or ectoplasm itself) in the air or in items ghost had possessed is a radiation. Human somatical cells mutate faster than they should. It also affects on their reproduction: the number of born-mutants will increase, problems with fertility as well. (Of course, halfas are immune, they don't care about poor people (Vlad got ecto acne before he developed this immune))

It could be an alternative subject for Danny's bioproject (s1 ep3). Ah, Sam, your little ghost boy could scared your classmates to death but you suggest to research gorilla's behaviour.

(I've just realised 80% asks for you was mine: ghost king au with pompous pep marriage, DP as anime?, omega/malewife Vlad, soulmates, contact infection au and etc. (but not Vlad's bites-detectors) I guess I talk too much :( )

That's very plausible! Maybe the worst thing about it is that it takes 10 years for all the cancer signs to show up, then another 10-15 years to figure out what's causing it. If the Fentons haven't moved out of Amity Park by then, they'll have to when angry mobs start showing up on their doorstep. Maybe things get bad enough that the GIW gets involved. The federal government comes under fire for allowing private citizens to pollute an entire town, intentionally or not, and Jack and Maddie are faced with the difficult choice of ending up working for the GIW (why let all that good research go to waste?) or going to jail for a long, long time.

And then Vlad steps in, perhaps after 20 years of living in recluse following the events of Phantom Planet. He's barely aged. He offers to help the Fentons out of their jam and redeem himself in the eyes of the world by developing a cure for the ecto-cancer he's been working on* (a derivative of the cure for ecto-acne that he received during the events of Masters of All Time), for which he needs their help.

The cure works, and the Fentons are allowed to continue their research under the supervision of Vlad Masters/Plasmius, who went from most hated man in the world to its beloved hero... and of course Danny is disgusted with this turn of events. (But at the same time he's also kind of glad to see Vlad again. The old fruit loop seems to have calmed down a lot in the past 20 years, and he did help his parents out of a terrible mess, basically restoring the Fenton family name... Maybe it's time to forgive and forget.)

* I like to think that after Vlad got out of the hospital in the early 80s, he stole the ghost portal plans from Jack, perhaps trying to find out exactly what was causing these strange new abilities he had. In the process, he ended up rebuilding the portal and correcting for all the flaws—such as leaking ecto-contaminants. (Maybe that was his role when working with Jack and Maddie: always better at improving upon ideas rather than coming up with new ones.)

Sorry, anon, I seem to have gotten carried away. LOL 80% of these asks may be yours, but I don't mind! They're fun and I really enjoy answering them, so no need to apologize :)

Unlikely Friends AU if you'd like to call it anything.

When Vlad got blasted by the prototype portal and was hospitalized, the future Fenton couple worked their asses off to cure the Ecto-acne, stayed close friends and were always in contact. This helped Vlad to not feel isolated, gave time to accept Maddie's new relationship and move on.

He discovered his ghost powers soon after his discharge from the hospital.

To say that he was freaked out was an understatement of a century. But he didn't want to trouble Maddie and Jack and made a decision to was scared to tell keep quiet. He kept the portal that cursed his life and worked on it separately. Be as it may between them, he no longer trusted a lab space with the Fentons in it.

He felt so hollow. Something was always missing. Being around Jack and Maddie made that pain worse.

That resulted in his portal working WAY sooner than that of the Fenton couple. He was even about to tell them! But...

The first ghost he ever actually encountered was the Dairy King. (Yes, Vlad is still a shady as hell billionaire here. Can't change the Core of the person) The Ghost was a little underwhelming but also extremely endearing to Vlad.

The Fentons wouldn't understand. They were both extremely intelligent but headstrong people. They would not change their ways. The permanent access to the Portal would put him and other Ghosts in danger.

So he kept quiet.

Years passed. He would often take trips to the Ghost Zone, or The Infinite Realms as the Ghost called it, and learn. About himself, his powers, their customs, their ways of thinking. He'd make friends with a few and enemies/sparing buddies with others.

A year into his Ghostly existence, he learnt what the hollowness was.

His Obsession. It wanted Kinship. It wanted people he felt safe around. He wanted family he could call his own. He wanted to be understood.

The Ghosts fullfilled it in a way he didn't know was possible. He loved, secretly, being a part of their community.

But no-one fully understood him.

His human needs would make them confused. Their more Ghostly ways were very hard to comprehend. The Ghost speak was a pain to learn.

So when, 20 years after the accident, he met the young Daniel at his doorstep and Saw him, he latches onto the young, green Halfa.

On that night, he came to him and offered mentorship. He may have been a little too pushy and scared the teen, earning the permanent moniker Fruitloop for his troubles.

But he managed to build up some trust when he did his best to help with some Ghost fights.

Vlad would dare to even say that they were becoming friends. The teen was highly entertaining to be around. It was freeing. He could joke, poke and talk to him almost about anything. Danny soon began doing the same.

The Dan incident was horrifying. It brought them closer. It also opened up a lot of teasing material for both sides. (Don't judge. That's how they cope)

Pariah Dark was released by an annoying Box Ghost by accident. They worked together to bring the Tirant down. Young Danny, with the help of his Father's suit, landed the final hit.

Danielle... was a terrifying but welcome accident. Vlad and Danny were doing some experiments on the Ectoplasm and how it effected different stages of the DNA. It was quite fun.

They didn't expect to accidentally clone a full Halfa of Danny when they were messing around.

Danny got a godsister. Vlad got to be a Father in the most unconventional but perfect way.

I was considering why Sam and Tucker might need Danny to trigger their transformation when I saw this gif and realized the Fenton's Ghost Portal activation had a kawoosh that Sam and Tucker could have been caught in.

This neatly solves several problems.

How did they become half-ghosts? They were standing in front of the Portal when it activated and were hit by the ectoplasmic backwash. Why are their transformations tied to Danny? Because he was inside the Portal when it activated and all of the ectoplasm that hits them went through him first. Why don't they have Ecto-Acne? Because even though they got blasted by a ghost portal like Vlad, unlike him, the ectoplasm that hit them didn't have any contaminants.

There are several semi-related AU ideas could use the Fenton Portal's activation kawoosh as their divergent point.

Danny Phantom AU: The Phantom Men

In this AU, the college ghost portal goes horribly wrong in a different way, and explodes, giving Vlad, Maddie, and Jack ghost powers, and ecto-acne.

After developing their ghost powers, Jack, Maddie and Vlad use their powers to fight crime.

Vlad/Plasmius

Vlad gains the same powers he has in the show. Not much to say, really.

Jack/Tempest

Jack's ghost powers are somewhat weather based, similar to that of Vortex, the weather ghost. Jack's ghost form is a genie-like entity, with a bald head and pointed ears, and a black beard, and a cloud-like ghost tail in place of his legs.

Maddie/Echo Lady

Maddie's ghost powers are noise based. Her echoes can sound out signals to anyone far away, and she can hear things from long distances. Her ghost form gives her a cape which kind of resembles a bat's wings. She also has an ability called Scream, similar to Ghostly Wail.
