Thinking about Steve and Bucky getting home at nightfall, after Bucky spent the day attending Yom Kippur service in the city.

Steve dropping him off and picking him up (It's not technically allowed, but they're so far from the synagogue they attend walking just isn't realistic, especially on a fast day).

Bucky is hungry and emotionally wrung out and Steve gently guides him to the kitchen to find a simmering croc-pot of matzo-ball soup, Bucky's Ma's recipe, that he made for Bucky as something light and comforting to break his fast.

And Bucky just smiles at him, kisses his cheek and whispers, "Thank you, lyubenyu." and they both chuckle when his stomach rumbles, reminding them it's time to eat.

Yom Kippur anon here. No fluff for you (yet) just a bit of a rant and a bit of a well wish. The rant? I woke up today with a nasty cold. I am not sure it will be wise for me to fast. I am very upset by this.

However! If you are able to fast, please make sure you are hydrating and eating now. Have an easy fast, and may you be sealed for a good and prosperous year!

I'm so sorry to hear that! Colds always come at the worst times.

I can't fast for numerous medical reasons, so I've decided to do an alternative fast (specifically extra noise bc I find silence is very uncomfortable and it will be pretty challenging for me). It's not the same, but maybe that would be something that would be meaningful for you too?

May you also be sealed for a good and prosperous year!
