Why I Love Hanamusa
I get this question very frequently but have never given a really in depth, definitive answer. All just kinda implied through my comics and spread out asks. So here's this I guess! Long post ahead:
Tumblr media
First, as a Pokémon fan in her mid 20s, I love seeing a ship where the characters are both in their mid/late 20s. Already, they’re much more relatable to me and my current experiences. Most Pokémon ships are between preteens, which can be cute but ultimately don’t interest me as much as they used to when I was a kid myself. Not enough to get super invested in and draw a lot of fanart for anyways haha.
I’ll also start by saying that canon doesn’t always influence whether or not I’ll ship something. I’m much more drawn to potential. Could the characters work together? Do their personalities work together in a nice way? I feel like this so much of fanon is anyways. Especially with queer relationships because they’re rarely depicted in the first place. A lot of the context for these ships is usually up to the fans to piece together or make up in general. And that’s the fun part to me!
Jessie and Delia have only met in the anime a handful of times. Any interaction they’ve had has either been pleasant, or just a typical Team Rocket interaction, with Delia dismissing them/not seeing them as a threat. Already a great jumping off point for me since, truly, they don’t have any actual beef or true, ill feelings towards each other. It’s not TOO out of the realm of possibility for them to potentially fall for each other. “But Jessie chased Delia’s son around trying to steal his Pokémon!” That’s where that dismissive and aloof attitude that Delia has comes into play. I’ll go more into Delia’s whole deal a bit later but I do think this aspect of her personality is a large reason why this ship can work. It’s not that she doesn’t care that Jessie has a bad past, but she can tell that, on the inside, Jessie’s a good person. And, in a scenario where Jessie is trying to become a better person, is forgiving enough to give her a shot. I feel like this is such a solid foundation for a ship. A character who has done wrong but is trying to be better and another character who is willing to help them be better. A classic dynamic!
It’s not just one-sided though; where Jessie is the only one benefitting and learning from the relationship. I believe Delia could get a lot out of being with someone like Jessie. To understand why, I think it’s important to know these characters’ respective backstories.
Jessie is an orphan/foster child who grew up in poverty. Her mother Miyamoto (from The Birth of Mewtwo) was a Team Rocket operative herself, who went on a mission to find Mew. In order to do this, she had to leave Jessie when she was just a toddler. Unfortunately, Miyamoto went MIA on her mission leaving Jessie to more or less fend for herself. Jessie went through life with zero stability, evident by her MANY different careers and constant moving around. It’s implied in the show that she went from foster home to foster home, and later in life tried being an idol, weather girl, florist, wine connoisseur, actress, most notably a nurse and finally a Team Rocket field agent. And even while in Team Rocket, she, James and Meowth were always doing odd jobs to get by. We see that Jessie used to be a sweet kid, and even adult, but the world and her circumstances repeatedly did her dirty, leading her to become the character we know today. Hot tempered, mean, selfish, etc. But despite this, her soft side does still shine through for the people and Pokémon she cares about. She is incredibly loyal.
Delia, unbeknownst to a lot of fans, also had a rough past (see Pocket Monsters: The Animation). Like Jessie, she had a lot of dreams and aspirations like wanting to be a model and even a trainer. But when she was 10, her mother didn’t let her, telling her that she had to stay home and learn to run the family restaurant (she’s an only child). Delia’s father left her and her mother to be a trainer, and never returned. When she was 18, she married Ash’s father and became pregnant shortly after. But right after Ash was born, he also set off to be a Pokémon trainer. And soon after that, her mother passed away, leaving Delia with just the restaurant and baby Ash. This gives so much context to Delia’s attitude in the show. We see that Delia is pained whenever Ash leaves on a journey, but she never shows that pain to anyone. ESPECIALLY Ash. She’s very quick to shoo him off when he shows any sign of wanting to go on another journey and even when he returns home, she acts more excited to see Pikachu than him almost every time. Without all this backstory, it’s easy to just read this as a funny gag, BUT with context, I think it really shows how quickly Delia shuts down and detaches in order to not confront her own feelings. She’s afraid of losing people and getting hurt again.
All that said, I think Jessie and Delia provide each other with EXACTLY what the other needs.
Aside from becoming rich and famous, Jessie’s biggest aspiration is to get married. In my opinion, this is more so an underlying want for love and stability. There is no one more stable in the show than Delia. Delia’s lived in Pallet her whole life, she’s worked at the same restaurant since she was young and she is always there when Ash comes back home. She has all the love, patience and stability Jessie needs and craves. While forgiving, Delia’s not stupid and can keep Jessie in check. Delia’s also just an angel, which I feel, would make Jessie want to be better. And on top of all this, on more of a surface level, Delia’s a chef and excellent cook. She shows love through cooking and Jessie, who grew up poor, regularly starving and eating snow, happily receives that love. Jessie’s able to live a happy and healthy life with someone like Delia.
Delia, as stated, is very stable. Likely pretty monotonous and solitary, especially living in such a small town like Pallet. This isn’t a bad thing but it’s a little sad when you consider that Delia also had dreams of traveling, being a model and a trainer. She had to give up so many dreams in order to fulfill her duties as a restaurant owner and mother. And even now, when Ash is off on his journey, she feels the need to always be home and be that stable pillar, leaving behind any ambitions she had, thinking it’s too late for her (she’s only 29 btw). But then along comes Jessie, dangerous, passionate, an absolute firecracker. Someone who’s whole life has been about chasing dreams and either, never giving up on them or finding a new dream to chase. Upon learning about Delia’s past aspirations, I could see Jessie pushing her towards them, letting her know that life’s too short and she has nothing to lose from trying. On top of this, Jessie’s also loyal. She, James and Meowth are depicted as doing anything for anyone who gives them food or shows them kindness. Delia does both so there’s no way Jessie would leave her. This fulfills an essential need for Delia, who is afraid of the people in her life leaving her.
There’s so much potential for mutual growth and learning between these two and I adore that. They compliment each other, they help each other and they bring out the best qualities in one another.
I’m not really sure how to end this and I could truly talk about them even more but I don’t want this to be tooooo long haha. OH I could end it with maybe the most funny aspect of this ship that I've brushed over and also what drew me to it in the first place. Jessie. As Ash’s stepmom. THE END.

DPXDC Prompt #142 Part 2
His parents had spent years working on their portal, to the point where they were neglecting their own children. Danny didn’t know any better, neither did Jazz. To them it was just how their family ran and for the most part it worked for them. It allowed Danny to really study space and the Stars. His room was covered with different ship models on the shelves, glow in the dark stars on the ceiling and posters on the walls.
Jazz had similarly explored her own thoughts and topics as she studied Psychology. Her room was more feminine but still had a certain scientific decorum to it.
He never thought that he’d suddenly be ripped from all the things he loved. But here he was with the trench coat man, instead of taking some biology class or something.
“What happened with the portal?” Danny asked.
The man took a long sigh, “listen… quite a lot of shit went down after your accident.”
“That tells me nothing,” Danny glared at the man.
“I get your upset kid, but let me at least know your name. Mine's John Constantine,”
“…Danny,” Danny muttered after a moment. He wasn’t sure he trusted the man but he guessed he had no choice. He was also noticing he felt a bit off, it was the weirdest gut feeling and Danny was having trouble telling exactly what the feeling was. It was like the feeling was telling him to trust John, although at the same time John had this weird feeling about him that had Danny feeling weary. He decided to trust John just a little, hopefully it got him back home, after a moment Danny spoke again, “…Can you at least tell me if the portal worked?”
The room was silent for a moment and then John spoke “Alright, fine, I’ll tell you what happened but some background first, do you know who the ancients are?”
The name didn’t sound familiar, “Ancients? Like Ancient Aliens or something?”
“No, no…” John took a swig from a flask in his pocket and then started fiddled with an unlit cigarette he pulled from a different pocket. He then looked Danny up and down, “You don’t know the first thing about the infinite realms do you?”
“The what?” None of this was making any sense and the more Danny talked to this guy the more he was getting a feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach. Something about this conversation felt wrong, like Danny should know all of this already but he just didn’t.
“Right well… I guess the easiest way to explain this is the portal your parents made was to the infinite realms.” John said, putting the cigarette in his mouth.
“My parents called it the Ghost Zone.” Danny muttered.
John seemed to chuckle at that, “I mean it is mainly inhabited by ghosts, however they aren’t the only ones, far from it in fact. I’m sorry but… I couldn’t allow your parents unlimited access to the realms. I had to disable it and prevent it from being reactivated.”
Danny felt a little disheartened after hearing that, he guessed John was probably right though. He remembered hearing his parents talk about how they’d dissect every ghost they found to study them. The bully’s at his school often bullied Danny over it especially after his dad and mom would continually embarrass him on parent teacher nights and on field trips.
Danny let out a small sigh, “so when can I go home?”
John looked a little surprised, his eyebrow quirked up, “so you're unaware of your situation right now?”
“Situation?” Danny trailed off, he remembered getting shocked and then he remembered waking up here, “where are we?”
John let out another sigh, “shit, well from my research you're supposed to know everything about your powers when you wake up.”
This made no sense to Danny, powers? Danny didn’t have powers, he didn't have the meta-gene.
“Powers? I don’t have the meta-gene. I think you have the wrong person.” Danny stated as he folded his arms in front of himself.
“Then how are you floating?” John asked with a smirk.
Danny looked down and he indeed was floating just an inch off the bed, he wondered when that started but the feeling threw him off a little as he stumbled a little trying to keep himself upright. It didn’t work and he fell back down on the bed with a little thud. He turned to see John watching him with a small hint of amusement in his eyes.
“What am I?” Danny asked, his voice small and a little panicked.
“You, Danny Fenton, are an Ancient. I know the term makes it seem like you're old but the term is more because your people are ancient in age.” The explanation made no sense to Danny but he could somehow float now. He thought the term ‘Ancient’ was a little much for some floating powers.

Little obey me headcanons (pt4)
(Pt5)
A/N: This probably like the second longest series of writing I’ve done fanfic wise. Lol anyway same stuff is here. Headcaons and world building, maybe once I get everything done with the masterlist I’ll show you guys my MC’s (yes I have 2 MC’s in the same verse) but I’m still not sure. Let me know what y’all think. Happy new year!!!
Everyone is super nosy about your life in the human world, some are more obvious and pushy then others but regardless they still want to know about every detail of your life, what kind of job do you have? What’s your family like? Do you live in acountryside or in City? Where’s your workplace? What’s your address? What’s your full legal name? What’s your blood type? Do you own any pets! Tell them all about it.
The Devildom and the Celestial realm have small populations. Devildom:50 million+ Celestial realm:45 million+ mainly because lots of people would rather not have kids because it would probably get in the way of what they were doing in their lives currently however it’s not uncommon to see families out and about. Nobles are the main ones who have families in the devildom.
Do you think that like a week after Diavolo was born his father did that lion king thing that Royal family does whenever they have another kid? Just basically raising him up for everyone to see? 💀
As I’ve said before Mammon has a great ass, you can’t help but grab it anytime you can, just coming up behind him and grabbing his cheek. It mainly happens in your room, both of y’all are laying in your bed with him on top of you resting his head on your chest and you’ll just unconsciously reach down and give it a squeeze. He used to loudly whine about it but he secretly loves it lmao.
When it comes to relationships and Virginity, I feel like I have a pretty decent grasp on who’s had what and who hasn’t.
Relationship+Experience: Lucifer Mammon Asmodeus Barbatos Solomon
Relationship+Virgin: Beelzebub Satan
No Relationship+ Experience: Belphegor only like twice though cuz I fucking hate him [affectionate]
Neither: Leviathan, Diavolo
Diavolo kin’s Pops from regular show unironically.
If you ever heard about the Mariko Aoki phenomenon good but if not it’s basically the need to take a crap in bookstores however if you leave before you do then the feeling goes away. Whenever you go into Satan’s room you automatically get the urge to take a shit, you haven’t told him about it the confused look on his face is too funny. 💀
Speaking of Poop. If any of the brothers can’t get into the bathrooms available on their floor/rooms they’ll come down to your room and ask if they can use your bathroom which you used to be fine with AT FIRST however you eventually banned them from coming into your bathroom because Beel took a massive shit in your toilet and it stunk up your bathroom for DAYS and Lemme tell ya, handling demon shits from GROWN ASS MEN are not for the weak.
“Phew…Thanks for letting me use your bathroom, MC.”
“No problem Beel I-“ *Turns into fucking dust*
Okay that’s not what happened but you did pass out. Beelzebub did say sorry and bought you a cupcake as compensation so I guess it’s okay for now, still not allowed to use your bathroom though.

I’ve decided to just go wild and start showing off my ocs and stories here that I’ve had in my brain and have made art for, even if they make absolutely no sense, starting with my oc that arguably makes the least amount of sense, but I still love her despite that, Xiǎodàn
To explain what’s up with Xiǎodàn, she kind of started as a sort of silly what if thought I had that went something along the lines of, “What would happen if someone was like, born in the scroll?” I’m not sure how to explain it, but before I knew it I was just running with the idea and Xiǎodàn is the result of that-
I’m still working out some of the details of Xiǎodàns story, but I have a sort of general idea of her backstory and her family’s to an extent
So this story starts with Xiǎodàn’s mother, Xīcai, who was a celestial maiden, though she was only a servant/attendant, nothing too grand or special. But she was forced into assisting in a crime (this is one of the things I’m still thinking on) and was caught and sentenced to be imprisoned in the memory scroll, however her punishment was reduced to be only temporary since it came out that she wasn’t helping of her own free will
But when Xīcai was eventually released from said scroll, two things were different about her now, one being her divinity was taken away from her (this was part of her punishment) and she was pregnant-
To explain that Xīcǎi, falls in love with a man who is a apart of the ink scroll (he’s the memory of someone else, I don’t really know how to explain it, ink scroll stuff is hard to explain, but basically he’s not the actual guy, but a memory of him) and stuff happens from there that leads to Xīcai to be expecting when she’s freed from the scroll
So now that she’s a mortal woman, and soon to be a mother, Xīcai works her ass off building a life, getting a home and job and integrating into the mortal realm and raising her daughter, who she named Xiǎodàn, and her daughter looks and acts completely like any mortal human kid would
That changes after Xiǎodàn’s 13th birthday
One day, Xiǎodàn noticed on the very tip of her middle finger, was a small black mark, that no matter how much she scrubbed and wiped it, wouldn’t go away. And with each day that passed, that black stain quickly got bigger and bigger and more appeared as well, and within a month or two, she was basically an ink person, though unlike the ink demons shown in s4, her body has more physicality, she’s got flesh, bones, etc, and her body doesn’t stain everything it touches
So while Xīcai is trying to figure out what to do about her daughters transformation and who she can go to for help, Xiǎodàn stays home and in her room most of the time, since she can’t go outside with her current appearance, cause of this, she’s grown incredibly lonely since she can’t see or talk to her friends in person now, the only person she can talk to face to face is her mom. One day at some point she’s just curled up in her room, and she mutters how she just wants someone else to talk to, before pressing her face into her knees, unaware of drips of ink on the floor slowly coming together and forming a small puddle, until a figure starts coming out of said puddle
It turns out Xiǎodàn can summon Inky (that’s what she calls the protective curse/ink MK) and de summon him whenever she pleases-
In a way Xiǎodàn is kind of like a walking scroll, she can create/summon ink people, but she can’t imprison people in the scroll (maybe she could if she had a piece of the scroll but I’m still deciding on this)
Xiǎodàn is not super eager to trust this ink monkey person who appeared in her room, and Inky isn’t super keen on trusting her either, though they are very curious about what exactly Xiǎodàn is and what she could be capable of, since she was able to bring them out of the scroll without a having a piece of it, and Xiǎodàn summoning inky and talking to them does make her wonder what exactly can she do (inky helps spark her curiosity) but she doesn’t tell Xīcai about this because she doesn’t want her mother to worry or freak out, and Inky advised her not to. So Xiǎodàn sort has Inky as a secret friend, summoning when she just wants someone to talk to about whatever.
One day inky is summoned by Xiǎodàn, and inky notices some bags are being packed and asks what are those for, and Xiǎodàn explains that her mom says they’re going to go to a city called Megaopolis to meet someone Xīcǎi says might be able help her, and when inky asks who, Xiǎodàn says he’s called the monkie kid and Inky just quietly says with a smile, “Interesting…”
And that’s all I’m gonna share for right now, I know this oc and this story don’t really make sense when you think about it, and there’s things I still need to decide on, but I wanted to share these here cause why not

I don't understand why people claim Al*s is going to be the only person the !Show Aemond ever cared about. Like we already know he's a dutiful son. He's also very protective towards Helaena (he literally shields his sister with his own body when Rhaenys ruins Aegon's coronation). In addition, Aemond's twisted relationship with Aegon is really interesting. I'd also say he's a father figure to Helaena's kids (judging from their reaction to Alicent, calling for her father Otto ❤️). Imo it will be such a pity if they reduce the realm of Aemond's feelings and emotions to just obsessing over his love interest.
Hello!
This will not happen, I am one hundred percent sure.
Alys stans says this because she wants to.
We have already seen Aemond in the first season: he takes care of his mother, Helaena, and children. I don't believe he will leave his family. Regarding Aegon, everything is complicated, Aemond demonstrates hostility (?) towards Aegon, there is no brotherly love between them (!). Relationship between Aegon and Aemond: "You may cuff him about as you wish at home, but in the world, we must defend our own" Sorry, but this is a fact. Perhaps everything will change in the second season? I really hope so.
Aemond doesn't abandon his family, not even in the book, I don't believe he did that, I think there's a lot left unsaid and unrevealed. Alicent said: "The city is yours, princess, but you won’t hold it for long. Rats play when the cat is away, but my son Aemond will return with fire and blood" Alicent knew her son better, and she knew that he would not leave her and Helaena. There must be a serious reason.
"Prince Aemond favored an immediate attack upon King’s Landing. None of the queen’s dragons were a match for Vhagar, he insisted"
I don’t like the character Alys, I’m not sure that I will have a different relationship with the show Alys. She looks a lot like Mysaria. I think Alys mur***ed all her children to preserve her youth - that's what you read between the lines.
I can’t support alysmond because I don’t believe in this ship, I don’t believe that there was love between them. Aemond destroyed House Strong, just as Aegon the Conqueror destroyed the family of Harren Hoar. alysmond is a crack ship, as if Harren had a daughter who, after her family was destroyed, fell in love with Aegon and had a child with him (If Helaena had fallen in love with Daemon). Maybe "stockholm sy***ome"? The whole story of alysmond is like a rumor - a rumor that Alys spread to establish his power in Harrenhal. Why didn't she save Aemond if she knew he was going to die and did she love him? Because from Alys’s side, Aemond’s death is an excellent revenge for the house Strong.
I think Alys will manipulate Aemond by threatening his family that she saw them die. I think there will be a deal between Alys and Aemond: he will spare her life, and she will look to the future for him.
I also don't believe Alys's child is Aemond's. You know, it’s very strange that she didn’t contact Aegon to make her son heir and marry him to Jaehaera. Alys called her son king, “kneel before your king,” but did not fight for his rights. Maybe because he is not Aemond's son? Maybe because she used this child, and when she realized that she had lost, she mur***ed him to preserve her youth? There are a lot of questions.
Aemond is a supporter of valyrian traditions “...strengthen the family. Keep our Valyrian blood pure” I don’t believe that after these words he voluntarily decided to conceive a child with Alys Rivers and be with her. Maybe Alys is a hidden Valyrian or Targaryen? (lmao)
It's funny that many of the TG (I'm not anti-TG) love alysmond ship, but condemn demira ship (I don't support daemira and tb) because of the large age difference between Daemon and Rhaenyra, although the age difference between Aemond and Alys is also very large, and this relationship can be called pe... too
Forgive me if you love alysmond and don't take my words if they hurt you, you can support any ship you want. You asked me and I answered you 🙏🏻
Thank you for your question. I hope you understand my English 🙏🏻

Eloped in Space Part 6
Read part 5 here
The days after Danny had moved into the manor had been strange to say the least. Dick couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that the man who had become like a father to him had turned into some love drunk dork.
They were still slightly in their puppy love stage but Danny had managed to keep Bruce’s hands off of him long enough for Danny to decide that he was going to bond with each one of Bruce’s kids. He had apparently decided that the first one to do this was with Dick. Danny and Bruce had been back on Earth for about a month now as Danny settled into living in the manor and getting used to how everything ran. According to Damian, Duke, and Tim it was an interesting adjustment but they all seemed to enjoy having the man there.
“So,” Danny said, lacing his fingers together and resting his chin on them. They were currently at some random diner in Bludhaven, Danny insisting that he could come to Dick to see him. Something about making a point to make an effort in this familial relationship. He rested his elbows on the table and stared at Dick with those blue eyes that looked as though they had seen their fair share of trauma in the world and refused to let it get him down. “Tell me about your relationship with Bruce. Is he good to you? He’s not shitty or anything? You get plenty of love and affection from him?”
“Uh…no?” Dick said slowly, furrowing his brows. “Bruce is the most emotionally constipated person I know. I think you’re the only person I’ve ever seen him act like that with anyone before.”
Danny made a face and nodded. “I see. Well, just so you know, Bruce will be starting therapy next week. He will be going three times a week until his therapist decides he can go less. He’s also going to be starting some medicine to help with his depression,” Danny said with a small smile, tiredness shone in his eyes.
“H-how did you get him to agree to that?” Dick asked, eyes wide in shock. Bruce? In therapy? What the actual fuck? What had Danny done to the man?
The Ghost King simply shrugged his shoulders. “My sister was a psychiatrist and took mental health very seriously. I myself see a therapist twice a month. It’s nice to have someone to talk to about all of the craziness that can happen in the world and in our existences. I told Bruce that if he wanted this relationship between the two of us to work he would need to be in some form of therapy. Then last week he met my sister and Jazz basically made him agree to meeting with her three times a week.”
“Wait, your sister? I thought you were like some immortal being, I didn’t realize you had a living family?” Dick asked, looking at the man who had declared himself his stepfather in confusion.
Danny grinned. “Yeah, Jazz died like two hundred years ago or something like that. She’s a ghost in my realm. Our parents both moved on, as did my friends that I grew up with. But Jazz decided that she had to be a pain in my life for eternity. Like I said, when she was alive she was a psychiatrist. And she’s insisting that she works with Bruce to make sure she’s okay.”
“Isn’t it like a breach of trust or something since she’s your sister?” Dick questioned, taking a sip of his soda.
At this his stepfather’s face fell in annoyance. “Trust me, Jazz is a pain in the ass. She would never break Bruce’s trust and if anything she’ll just tell him anything he wants to know about my childhood or something. But, he’s going to be getting therapy and Jazz is going to start working on that emotional constipation ASAP.”
Dick smiled at the man. “Danny, you’re an amazing step dad. I can’t believe you got Bruce into therapy. Alfred has been trying to convince him since the guy was eight and nothing worked.”
Danny gave him a rueful smile and took a bite of his burger. “I love Bruce a lot, Dick. I’m going to make sure he’s taken care of, whether he likes it or not. I have been around for a very long time, Bruce is the first person I’ve ever loved like this. And because of that, I’m going to make sure he’s okay and isn’t hurting. Under that emotional constipation is a man who loves his family more than anything in this world. The entire time we were on that mission together, all he could talk about was how proud of you guys he was and how much he loved you all. It was very sweet.”
“How’d you do it? How’d you get past it?” Dick asked, looking at the man like he was his own personal hero. At this point he pretty much was.
Danny just gave him a secretive smile, eyes shining. “I have my ways to get under people’s skin. I can also read people pretty well and knew just which buttons to push. It also didn’t help that from the moment I met Bruce he just looked at me like he either wanted to fuck me or whisk me away to protect me forever. He also had this look like he wanted to learn all of my secrets which was pretty fun. But we just got to know each other on that mission and the more I opened up about my life and after life the more he was willing to do the same.”
Dick took a bite of his own burger and smiled as he mulled over it. If Danny was able to successfully get Bruce in therapy to work on his problems and get the man to open up more, Dick would probably lose his ever loving mind. He couldn’t believe the changes he was seeing in Bruce but he was excited to see how it would go.
“I think you’re going to be really good for him, Danny,” Dick said with a small smile.
Danny beamed at him. “I think he’s going to be really good for me too,” he said quietly.

Why Ship Eärendil/Elwing?
I think there are a lot of good reasons so let’s have a look (。・∀・)ノ゙
1. They have a lot in common. Both of them went through pretty traumatic events as children that involved being driven from their homes by an attacking force, losing family to that attacking force (Eärendil’s grandfather, Elwing’s parents and her brothers), and ending up refugees. They’re also at this point the only Peredhil in Middle-earth. There are a lot of difficult experiences they share, which allows them to understand each other on a level people without those experiences can’t as well.
2. They grew up together. They grew up in the Havens at Sirion and childhood-friends-to-lovers is a fire trope as far as I’m concerned. It’s very possible they played together as kids and they were there through each other’s awkward adolescent phases and talked each other through other crushes before they finally got together.
3. They obviously care about each other. We don’t see the details of a lot of marriages in The Silmarillion. Many of them are left wholly to the imagination as to how those characters acted around each other, but Eärendil and Elwing are explicitly devoted to each other.
“Eärendil found not Tuor nor Idril, nor came he ever on that journey to the shores of Valinor, defeated by shadows and enchantment. driven by repelling winds, until in longing for Elwing he turned homeward....” (Emphasis added)
Eärendil attempting his first voyage to Valinor is beset by all kinds of dangers, but it’s missing Elwing that finally makes him turn back and call this trip a bust.
“For Ulmo bore up Elwing out of the waves, and he gave her the likeness of a great white bird, and upon her breast there shone as a star the Silmaril, as she flew over the water to seek Eärendil her beloved.” (Emphasis added)
Beloved remains one of the peak terms of endearment, lbr.
“Then Eärendil, first of living Men, landed on the immortal shores...And Eärendil said to [his companions]: ‘Here none but myself shall set foot, lest you fall under the wrath of the Valar. But that peril I will take on myself alone, for the sake of the Two Kindreds.’
But Elwing answered: ‘Then would our paths be sundered for ever; but all thy perils I will take on myself also.’ And she leaped into the white foam and ran towards him...”
Elwing really said “if you’re damned then I will be too.” Here she accepts Eärendil’s fate, just as Eärendil later accepts hers and chooses the Elven path.
“But when all was spoken, Manwë gave judgement, and he said: ‘In this matter the power of doom is given to me. The peril that he ventured for love of the Two Kindreds shall not fall upon Eärendil, nor shall it fall upon Elwing his wife, who entered into peril for love of him...” (Emphasis added)
Even the Valar recognize how much these two care about each other!
“And at times, when Eärendil returning drew near again to Arda, she [Elwing] would fly to meet him, even as she had flown long ago, when she was rescued from the sea. Then the far-sighted among the Elves that dwelt in the Lonely Isle would see her like a white bird, shining, rose-stained in the sunset, as she soared in joy to greet the coming of Vingilot to haven.” (Emphasis added)
After their journey, even in spite of all their grief, they still find joy in one another. Their marriage is still strong even through everything they’ve seen.
4. They saved Middle-earth together. These two did what no one else had managed and sailed back to the Blessed Realm to get help for Middle-earth. Clearly, power couple moves.
”Yet Eärendil saw now no hope left in the lands of Middle-earth, and he turned again in despair and came not home, but sought back once more to Valinor with Elwing at his side.”
Friendly remind this journey is supposed to be impossible, but they are determined to do it because they know Middle-earth cannot survive without the intercession of the Valar.
“Few of the Teleri were willing to go forth to war, for they remembered the slaying at the Swanhaven, and the rape of their ships; but they hearkened to Elwing...and they sent mariners enough to sail the ships that bore the hose of Valinor east over the sea.”
But for Elwing, the Teleri would not have engaged in the war effort at all; she alone convinced them to help.
“But Eärendil came, shining with white flame, and about Vingilot were gathered all the great birds of heaven and Thorondor was their captain, and there was battle in the air all day and through a dark night of doubt. But before the rising of the sun Eärendil slew Ancalagon the Black, the mightiest of the dragon-host, and cast him down from the sky...”
From start to finish Eärendil and Elwing have been committed to saving Middle-earth from Melkor’s menace and boy do they see it through.
5. Eärendil chooses immortality to stay with Elwing. In a mirror of Beren and Lúthien’s story, Eärendil surrenders a mortal fate to stay joined with Elwing.
“Then Eärendil said to Elwing: ‘Choose thou, for now I am weary of the world.’ And Elwing chose to be judged among the Firstborn Children of Ilúvatar, because of Lúthien; and for her sake Eärendil chose alike...”
Eärendil both trusts Elwing to make this choice for both of them and makes the same choice as her even though it isn’t his first preference.
6. Eärendil named his boat, which becomes the immortal vessel in which he sails through the skies, after Elwing. Can we say romance?
7. Elwing gives Eärendil the Silmaril. In general, most people who get their hands on a Silmaril are not keen to give it up. Yet Elwing passes the Silmaril onto Eärendil without a fuss and never again takes possession of it.
8. Their super rad mythological couple energy. Half-Elven couple who braved the sea to voyage to a realm it was supposed to be impossible for them to find to bring back divine help for their home? Last queen of the forest kingdom who in her moment of greatest despair is lifted up by divine forces and transformed? Hero of the last bastion of the Elves in Middle-earth who uses his mariner skills to make an impossible voyage, bearing back a jewel thought lost forever? Former Elven queen who now abides in a white tower on the sea and talks to birds and transforms into a bird herself to fly up to greet the return of her husband? Immortal captain of a flying ship that slew a dragon and now keeps watch over the stars? They are killing it y’all.
Feel free to add on o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ

Ok I need to talk about this with someone and I think you’re so cool and your art is amazing I love it sm, so I hope you don’t mind !! *LONG RANT AHEAD*
This is more like a head-canon/observation I made. I think Tomas’ character is super interesting. I know it’s always said how loyal he is and how much a good guy he is AND I AGREE!! but it made me think more about him and his story. Imagine losing your whole family, it being basically a mistake, and then being taken in by the same clan???? If I’m not mistaken Tomas was probably a pre-teen/teen when this happened as well. I’d like to think that fucks with the mind of a young kid. And this is where it goes into head-canon territory.
I like to believe that Tomas loyalty is a form of defense mechanism for what he went through. Like not only did Tomas probably have a whole whiplash in terms of environment, but also learning about Earthrealm and Outworld??? Like this is a clan that has protected and serve earth realm since probably forever. That is a HUGE change. So, at a young age being so angry (from Tomas encounter with hanzo) instead of holding a grudge forever id like to think Tomas brain just came up with a defense mechanism aka assimilate to where you are.
His new “family” his new “responsibility”. I notice in a lot of interactions it’s “father wanted this” or “father taught us this” he always brings it back to father and teachings. Like to me it would seem like a “if I don’t assimilate to this new situation I might just lose my mind” and that’s exactly what he did. He took on the Lin Kuei traditions, honor, and responsibility and didn’t look back. It’s what he had to do to survive.
Man this even affects his relationship with not only Bi-Han but Kuai Liang as well. He idolized Bi-Han but he wasn’t surprised when Kuai Liang said he betrayed them. No doubt just immediately followed Kuai Liang and accepted it. And after that, the scene where Kuai Liang puts his hand on his shoulder and says “even though we don’t share blood, we are brothers” I haven’t seen anyone mention it but Tomas literally looks down at Kuai Liangs hand for a second and just looks a bit confused. Confused!!! Like I see a lot of people saying how Kuai Liang is the one that treated him well compared to Bi-Han but I bring you this:
Tomas is disconnected from the concept of family when it comes to the Lin Kuei. Like in title and name yes Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are his brothers, but if we go back to what I said, to Tomas personally it doesn’t feel that way. Again going back to what he says to Bi-Han. “Father would’ve wanted us to be brothers”. And Bi-Han’s comments do not help!!! THIS IS NOT MEANT TO SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT BROTHERS: THEY ARE, I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH PLS.
They are brothers, but if I were to put myself in Tomas shoes I’d feel so dissociated from that knowing what happened to my first family. In title yes we are brothers because it is what is expected, it’s what father wanted. But we’re no longer Lin Kuei and you still called me brother? Why?
Like that’s what I feel like would go through his head.
Man and that interaction he has with Liu Kang. “Can I ever get the brothers to reconnect?” Or something like that. MAN. Not even a “can I get my brothers to reconcile”. Like this poor man probably dissociated and disconnected himself so hard from his situation and just tried to make the best of what he had.
And imagine the way they could expand on this. A Tomas who no longer is part of the Lin Kuei but still holds onto their traditions and secrets, and how he deals with understanding and processing that. A Tomas who is still having a hard time seeing Kuai Liang as a brother outside of the clan but devoting his undying loyalty to him and learning to slowly trust him as Tomas not Smoke. A Tomas who feels so conflicted over Bi-Han because he feels like he should’ve done more so Kuai Liang didn’t lose his brother, but realizes he also lost a brother himself. The grief of loosing yet more family. A Tomas who can drop the name Smoke and just be someone’s brother, someone’s friend, someone’s brother-in-law.
There’s obviously cultural factors that take place here and I don’t know if I did a good job on touching upon them, but this is just my head canon. I know I’m like way off but it’s interesting to see Tomas through this lens. Thank you for reading through all of this if you do🙏
I appreciate you sharing this with me because Tomas needs more love and analyze and now I will share this with everyone else AND THEY BETTER READ IT!

So finished my rewatch of all of ninjago that is easily available on Netflix (so the original, day of the departed and some of the shorts I could not watch)
Theories about dragons rising and therefore SPOILERS
While the merge would’ve happened no matter what BUT Ras and Beatrix triggered it early
Ras’s master is the overlord
Land of the Lost tells us what’s going on with the Departed Realm. It could’ve shown up on the map but once you’re in you can’t leave it creates a fog
Lloyd could’ve ended up in the land of the lost as a kid
I have decided that Spitz is actually Skales Junior but he got separate from his family during one of the events in Ninjago and they all thought he died and he lost all his memories
Fritz is a formling and judging by his hat he has a bird form. I’m hc that he got lost and stuck in the land of lost things during Zane’s reign and by the time anyone was able to remember him it was too late
Geo, is so obviously is love with Cole but I’m sorry I ship Cole and Vania and I won’t be swayed maybe they can be poly but I feel like a lot of Geo’s affection for Cole may come from him being the Son of Lilly and so he feels like he is the only one who can truly accept him
The Merge had to have messed with people’s memories because Lloyd keeps being treated like this perfect angel and no one wants to mention how much of a menace he was a child and I think Sora and Arin would greatly benefit from learning that (and not just in haha he was a menace and he’s getting payback from them. I really think it will help them in their learning)
Cole is most definitely going to be the one to find Jay
The administration is a nightmare but also far too real but maybe that’s just because I live in the US (cries in victim of capitalism)
The Administrator has to be either PIXAL or Garmadon but a fun twist would be Mindroid or Borg
Misako realistically would be dead by this point the youngest she could be before the Merge was mid 70s (I refuse to believe she and Garmadon got married before she was 20 because I’m so tired of cartoon woman being questionably young. I don’t care if that means she was late 40 early 50s when she had Lloyd it’s possible and actually not uncommon) BUT this is Ninjago so she’s probably alive and researching stuff
Also did anyone notice that the temple grave place Nya and Sora went to had a pillar that matched one in the Monastery and they show it immediately after in almost the same place I am really hopeful that’s important
PIXAL better be living her best life building stuff for fun and profit and they only thing missing is Zane and she just really misses him but otherwise everything is perfect for her and she won’t have to leave that but instead just move it to the monastery or the crossroads
The Geckle chancellor knew it was Zane he just didn’t recognize him at first and was embarrassed about it so he tried to cover it up by saying not even Zane himself could live up to Zane
Blazey H Speed/Racer 7 is Kreel change my mind
The explorers club has branched out significantly and now every major city that will allow them has a club house
The ninja are adults in this and you can’t change my mind
I think Lloyd is late 20s early 30s
I know Wu or the first spinjitzu master is probably who the big source dragon was talking about but I really hope it was the good part of Garmadon I just would really like to see that and it would also be funny if there were multiple versions of Garmadon running around because of Harumis ritual and then like the merge caused him to further split apart. It would be hilarious

Who do u think is most likely to (possibly) die permanently in SH
Hi anon, I had to give this some thought because in the past I’ve only considered the idea of who could die in Scarlet Hollow so briefly I didn’t have an answer. But now that I’ve let it percolate for a while I have some ideas. Spoilers below, but I’m going to be kinda vague about them. I hope you're okay with a long answer, friend, because that’s what this turned into, lol!
First off I think anyone who dies in the course of the game won’t come back in some way. The two people who can die in Episode 4 do so in such a way that it wouldn’t be possible for them to come back in the flesh. Unless we get another ghost or their spirit inhabiting another body they are gone-gone. Obviously I could be wrong, but given we’ve already dealt with a ghost and people being temporarily puppeted, I believe any death is permanent. And our choices really do matter!
So “most likely” to possibly die I think are Kaneeka, Sybil, and Avery. Kaneeka has a lot of concerning magical girl imagery associated with her character. I’m not familiar with some of it, but I love Madoka Magica, and the Sayaka statue is worrisome when you consider how her character arc ends. Like a lot of fans, I predict that Kaneeka will have some kind of magical girl-like awakening or transformation, and my guess is it has the possibility to end with her dying. And much like Tabitha, Kaneeka takes her family duty seriously even when it’s painful. So I think it’s within the realm of possibility for her to pull some sort of self sacrificing move.
Sybil is very connected to what’s going on, obviously a lot more than she’s letting people know. Which could easily put her in serious danger. Plus it adds Kaneeka and Miles to to Dead Mom’s Club! I know that seems like a joke, but I’m mostly serious. There are a lot of themes in the game about generational trauma and abusive parents. I think Sybil dying, especially if it’s from a choice Kaneeka makes, fits with the themes we’ve already seen in the game. And in light of how Episode 4 can end, that just adds weight to the theory in my opinion.
For Avery, it’s purely because they are way too casual about all the horrors happening! Mx Belle, please don’t say you’d be okay with a ditchling using your body to incubate it’s offspring! Do they even have a self-preservation instinct in the face of supernatural stuff? Because it sure doesn’t look like it from where I’m standing. Avery is reckless and much too willing to get into bad situations just for the thrill of it, so that doesn't bode well for their survival.
Granted, I’m not sure anyone is safe. And I’m concerned about Janey and Pastor Daniel making it to the end of the game. That conversation you can have with Tabitha about how no one in town has two parents is pretty ominous with her reply of basically “Tulip has two parents, for now.” Honestly, I do hope at least the kids are safe, because there is no way I could handle a child dying! (Despite the fact I don’t want children, I’m exceedingly fond of them.) Also, it just doesn’t feel right from the direction Abby and Tony seem to be taking the story.
Thanks for the ask, anon! Ngl, I was a little surprised to see it since there are quite a few SH fans here who are much more known for talking about the game and their theories. But it’s was fun, if a bit morbid, to think about! <3

my thoughts on My Journey to You
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: there will be spoilers below the cut!
Firstly I have to say that this was a drama I was anticipating so much and it was mainly because of two reasons: the cast and the director. The news of Esther doing another drama with Ling He made me very excited to watch the drama even before knowing what the show was about and when I saw that Edward Guo was the director, I knew I HAD to watch it because I loved the movie The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity that was also directed by him. When the trailer dropped I almost cried of happiness of how good it looked! And I know trailer can be deceiving some times but still got me excited and looking forward the release.
After watching the first episode I was very overwhelmed by it because since from the start the drama showcased amazing visuals, top notching costumes and an intriguing plot. And I felt the same feeling after watching every episode because it always got better and better.
So I will divide my thoughts in categories:
Characters:
One thing that made me really interested in the drama was the characters because they weren’t written shallowly. Although the english title for the drama is “My Journey to you” I think it should be called “A journey to yourself” because the main thing I got from characters is that they were on a journey to find their identity.
Weishan was a Wufeng spy/assassin but she wanted to be more than that, she wanted freedom to live as her real self that it was taken from her.
Ziyu always felt neglected by his father and it was one of the reasons he had no aspirations and didn’t know what he was and what he wanted.
Shang Jue was definitely the most suitable to be the World Wielder, he was capable, logical and already passed the three trials of the three realms but still felt like it wasn’t enough and lived blaming himself after what happened with this mother and brother.
Yuan Zhi had literally a brother complex with Shang Jue because he also blamed himself for what happened with Shang Jue’s little brother and lived his life trying to be the perfect brother to him.
Zi Shang was always downlooked by the others in the Gong family, mostly because she is a woman and didn’t meet expectations that they had for her, she was really smart but people always though of her being a superfluous woman who goes after man.
Jin Fan was a talent since he was a kid and had to give up the most precious thing to him that it was being a Red Jade Guardian so to meet the expectations of being a good guardian to Ziyu he had to shut down the things he wanted and the things he felt.
Shangquan is the only character I couldn’t really get into it because it’s hard to know what she really feels and thinks :(
So, with that being said, I think the development of the characters where they try to find their real selfs was the most solid thing in the drama.
Visuals:
Another thing that makes this show amazing it is the visuals! Since the cinematography, the costumes to the fighting choreography, it is really impeccable!
The director did such a great job to capture the feelings, the elements and really helped upgrade the tension of some scenes! All the scenes that had water as a primordial element were my favorite!
The couples:
I must say that even tho I got interested in the drama before airing because of the main cast pairing, when I was watching the drama, the romance was definitely on second plan. Of course it was great and cute but was not the priority for me so when the two main couples of the drama didn’t had their “happy endings” I was not bothered by it because it make sense. It was known from the very beginning that a relationship between someone from Wufeng and the Gong family was doomed so I was glad that at least none of them died because I think that this would make it a really sad ending.
The plot:
I’m still amazed by how the things turned out with the plot, and yes, there was some things that was left without a proper explanation but it still made emends to give some closured to the main story and for that I am satisfied.
When I think about a drama is really more about how the episodes influenced me while watching than only judging it by the last episode. So, the intriguing questions and theories made while I was watching and how they “played” with the audience’s mind were another solid point that sold the drama to me.
Editing:
For a drama, specially wuxia, to have 24 episodes can make the audience feels some rushes at the latest episodes but for me personally I think it didn’t rushed at all but again, some might feel different about this. I still think that if the drama had like two more episodes it could make some questions to be answered (specially about Wufeng’s leader and Weishan twin sister plot) but this is what we got for now. I really doubt (even tho I really want) they would make a special episode to give it proper closure to the cliffhanger that was left at the end :(
Acting:
Must I say, the acting of the cast is astonishing! They portrayed the characters so well that I could feel their emotions and sympathize (and cry) with them, such a great job made by a great casting!
Ost:
The soundcheck for this show is amazing and it really compliments the drama!
-
Overall, it was an awesome journey to watch the drama and it’s definitely one of my favorites of the year and among the all the dramas I’ve watched. I might have forgot to say some things I’m not recalling at the moment but for now, I will give it 9,5/10.

Side Note: We already get a lot of this information from the game, but I just wanted to build upon it more because I’m in love with the depth of his character so, so much! This will be going off of his good ending where the Shadow Curse has been lifted and the Netherbrain is no more, and Tav is a hero to Faerun.
After the battle has been won against the Netherbrain, Halsin can’t help but think about the next goals he wishes to pursue. It’s just a part of who he is, he does not find comfort in remaining stationary. He’s got a nomadic heart and has the constant craving to put his mind, body, and soul to use especially when it comes to harmony and nature. This stems from both his Druidic nature, and even possibly from some of the traumatic events he faced in the past.
Halsin despises city life, and the fruition of it grew stronger when he witnessed the discrimination of the refugees in Baldurs Gate. The cast-away fleers of war, the starving children left to fend for themselves on the streets, and the families who could no longer afford to put a roof over their heads because civilization turned its back to them—it was enough reason to give the Wood-elf inspiration for his next mission. And he already knew exactly where he’d cultivate his plans. Reithwin.
To be quite frank, the plan had already been formulating in his mind before the destructive battle with the Netherbrain, Lord Gortash, and Orin. Now that the world isn’t teetering on edge, he barely gives himself a second to breath when he takes the next step. He starts by visiting the refugee camps and extending his hands to help in all the ways he can, whilst spreading the word that he will lead a caravan to Reithwin within the next tenday. Possibly even sooner if Silvanus answers his prayers, but he won’t push his luck.
A plethora of tiefling refugees who traveled from Emeralds Grove hop onto the opportunity in an instant. The promise of a fresh start is sweet on the tip of their tongues, especially after all the kindness Halsin had shown them. Of course, those who grew weary of the road, choose to take their chances with Baldurs Gate, but Halsin extends an open invitation for them to join in due time if the lifestyle of the city does not suit their needs.
Within the short period of getting to know the refugees, the children adore the man. The boys rough house, climb him as if he were a tree, learn to be resourceful as Halsin extends his knowledge to the ones eager to learn. Meanwhile the girls love to listen to the fantastical stories of his adventures whilst braiding his hair and making him flower crowns. What the kiddos love the most though, of course, is his bear form. Who in the realms of Faerun wouldn’t want a life-sized teddy bear? On the particularly cold nights, he’ll wild shift and let the kids sleep with him to provide as much warmth as he can. It’s just too cute. He’s Daddy Halsin for a reason!
Of course one may be thinking, “Where is Tav in all of this?”. If anything, the first humanoid he thinks of joining him in this newfound journey is Tav…Yet, for numerous amount of reasons, he holds those thoughts to himself. What if Tav has a life to fulfill in the city? To thrust someone into a lifestyle that differs from his own, well that would be too much to ask. What if Tav no longer desires his company, romantic or not? He’s already asked way too much, especially when it came to lifting the Shadow Curse. What if, and this is if Tav did pursue him romantically, no longer had a heart that stirred for him? After finding the spark of love after so, so, long he couldn’t even bear (hehehehe) the thought. All the, ‘what ifs,’ cloud his mind to the point where he doesn’t even want to deal with the possibility of rejection. So he doesn’t.
That doesn’t stop Halsin from extending an invitation to Tav in a round-about sort of way. If The Oak Father wills it to be so, he falls upon. (If only there was the option to ask to join him, hint hint Larian Studios.)
As soon as Halsin and the refugees join him on the road to Reithwin, he can’t help but turn his head every so often to watch Baldurs Gate fade from view. Wretched the city was, Tav is there, out in the horizon, doing Silvanus knows what. The least Halsin could do was pray for their safety and resilience in whatever the Gods had in store for them.
Whenever the caravan settles for the night and Halsin meditates, he is constantly keeping Thaniel and Oliver up to date on the plans, and boy oh boy is Oliver excited. Not just for Halsin’s arrival, but the amount of children there will be to play with. Sure, according to the Wood-elf, there will be responsibilities to be had, and curfews, and all that other boring adult stuff, but surely there will be plentiful time for games of hide and seek!
Though Oliver is head over heels for this, Thaniel is definitely a lot more timid when it comes to the amount of children. He is easily reassured by Halsin that the children will be taught Druidic teachings when it comes to the bountifullness of nature and keeping the sacred harmony the environment provides.
Once at Reithwin, there is an exceeding amount of work to do…From providing resources, food, shelter, community, to giving responsibilities, providing ample opportunities for the young and old to educate themselves on the ways of the Oak Father, even figuring out bartering and trade. The reconstruction of buildings, the clean-up from battle…There’s an endless list of tasks to be done. It may be overwhelming at first, but Halsin quickly accommodates to it, finding peace in birthing a successful opportunity to help so many children and humanoids in need.
Halsin stares into the horizon every once in while, still clinging on the the hope that maybe, just maybe, he’ll see that outline of Tavs figure once more in his lifetime. Because he would love to share all the good that has blossomed since the ShadowCurse had been lifted.

Every once in a while I remember that Bloom had to earn her Enchantix by meditating on the dragon planet and like… that was fine? Putting the main character at a disadvantage and forcing them to do something different from The Way Things Are Always Done (tm) can be very interesting, actually, and I think having a character become more powerful by learning to embrace their inner self is a pretty good message for a kids’ show. But I’m absolutely baffled that this is what the writers decided to do instead of just… introducing a character or characters from Domino.
I know the show acts like it’s impossible for Bloom to earn her Enchantix the normal way because Domino was destroyed and its inhabitants were frozen, so there’s no Dominians for her to sacrifice herself for, but hear me out: that makes no sense lol.
You mean to tell me that in the Winx Club magic dimension, where the main characters are attending school in Magix and repeatedly visit realms other than their home realms, emigration doesn’t happen? Not a single person from Domino immigrated to Melody to study music, to Zenith so that they could be at the forefront of technological development, to Linphea because they wanted to be closer to nature? Nobody ever falls in love with someone from another realm and chooses to immigrate to be with them? (Bloom canonically does that one btw.) There was not a single mixed race Dominian who was born on Domino and later moved to be closer to the other side of their family?
Even if you want to pretend the Winx Club universe hasn't invented immigration yet (which like... a half assed fandom post isn't really the place to get into a discussion about xenophobia, but if you think that's at all a valid argument, then perhaps you should take a minute to consider why you think that), you mean to tell me nobody from Domino left the realm temporarily? There was not a single Dominian studying at Alfea who was excited to tell their family about acing their last exam only to find their family gone? There was not a single Dominian visiting friends in other realms, or just on vacation who tried to return home at the end of their trip, only to find there was no home to go back to?
Just the idea that there is not a single other person out there from Domino is absolutely nonsensical to me, but it's what the series decided to go with. And that's a damn shame because when you think about it, Bloom is a transcultural adoptee whose biological parents and their culture were victims of genocide. (Domino is brought back, but iirc both the characters and the audience were unaware that was a possibility at this point in the narrative.) There's so much that could be done and said with that.
The musician who made it big on Melody could sing Bloom folk songs that nobody else quite remembers. The person thriving on Linphea could show Bloom their garden filled with flowers they brought with them from Domino; flowers that no longer exist anywhere else. The former Alfea student could hold Bloom close and tell her it's going to be okay even though it won't because while their experiences are undeniably different, they remember being there; in that same environment, being forced to come to terms with the same truths and grief that Bloom is now facing.
And I want to make it clear that none of this precludes Bloom earning an incomplete Enchantix. Like I said, putting the main character at a disadvantage and forcing them to do something different from The Way Things Are Always Done (tm) can be very interesting, actually, and I think there's so many ways that could still be done. (I mean this purely from a storytelling perspective rather than a nerf perspective btw. I get that Bloom being overpowered is a common complaint, but it's actually not one I share. She's quite literally the current mortal avatar of the universe's canon Creator God; she should be more powerful than all the other characters lol.)
Maybe no opportunity arises for Bloom to earn her Enchantix while meeting these people and she's not going to purposefully put someone in danger just so she can save them (although in her most desperate moment, perhaps she considers it) (I am biting anyone who insists someone needs pure intentions to earn Enchantix btw; that's not canon and eliminating the possibility that morally grey or outright villainous high level fairies can exist is boring don't @ me). She can then make the active decision to go on the dragon meditation quest or whatever (perhaps with some guidance from the person or people she met), but is doing so with more knowledge about the people and culture she is fighting for.
Maybe the perfect situation to earn her Enchantix does arise, Bloom saves someone's life, and it just... doesn't work. To earn Enchantix, a fairy must save someone from their home realm, but not everybody has the same idea of home. The person she saves may be Dominian by birth, but in the seventeen-ish years they've had to grieve and rebuild their life, they've started to think of the realm they now reside in as their true home. Alternatively, Bloom realizes that despite being Dominian by birth and desiring a connection to her biological parents, their people, and their culture, she still considers Earth her true home. She doesn't want to go back to Earth and put her adoptive parents or anyone else in danger, so she makes the active decision to go on the dragon meditation quest or whatever.
Or maybe the perfect situation to earn her Enchantix does arise, Bloom saves someone's life, and she does earn Enchantix, but it's incomplete, despite doing everything right. If Enchantix must be earnt by saving someone specifically from the realm a fairy was born in, who's to say it doesn't share a connection to that realm? At that point, Domino is a dead world and Dominians are an endangered people. Bloom is a Guardian Fairy with very little to Guard and so she doesn't have access to the same level of Enchantix magic as other fairies do. This would also mean she would get her full Enchantix powers after Domino is revived; a sign that everything will be okay for the Dominian people.
idk I just have a lot of thoughts about all the missed opportunities here, basically all of them related to the erasure of the immigrant experience and how thoroughly the ball was dropped with the show's portrayal of genocide (refusing to even consider the idea of survivors other than Bloom and basically not discussing it at all beyond how it affects the former Company of Light and Bloom)

How are Hestia's Flamekeepers (I'm going to call them that because it sounds so cool!) and Artemis's Hunters different? What abilities do Flamekeepers have from Hestia's Blessing?
I sort of eluded to Hestia’s Flamekeepers abilities in my story “Carry on My Wayward Child” with the Reader’s aunt being Hestia’s Priestess/Flameskeeper and the reader becoming one at the end, but here we go into more depth-
To start off, Hestia and in turn, Hestia’s Flamekeepers revolve around the hearth, home, place of belonging, family, bonds, and so forth; while Artemis’ revolve around sisterhood, maidenhood, wilderness, and hunting.
So aside from the sisterhood and shared maidenhood, swearing off romantic love, etc… they’re plenty different in terms of aspects.  As a general differences between it’s like to be Hestia’s Priestesses from Artemis’ Huntresses:
I would say that unlike Artemis’ hunters, the Flamekeepers are non-combatants; matching with Hestia’s non-confrontational nature. While the Huntresses are out hunting monsters and moving at Artemis’ will, the Flamekeepers are back at home, places of refuge, maintaining it and keeping those there safe. Instead, I think the Flameskeeper are knowledgeable in healing, nothing too over the top like the Apollo kids, but more around the realm of medicinal home remedies, tending to wounds and pain from knowing first aid to soothing aches and pains both mentally and physically; like kissing a boo after putting a bandage on it. Not that they won’t or have any special, magical healing abilities but it's very down to earth. There’s nothing like making a literal magical bowl of chicken noodle soup to make someone magically feel better.
I’m not sure if Hestia would bestow partial-immortality to her flamekeepers, but given how Hestia sometimes look, the alternative is that she bestows her flamekeepers some sort of youth and vigour to them. A liveliness that is akin to being at home with a certain liveness to it.  (I’m not sure if instead of not just a vow, they also step into the sacred fire, allowing the fire to burn away small amounts of mortality, thus bestowing immortality).
Being part of the Hearth, I’d imagine the more a flamekeeper tends to the flame, they stroke not only the physical flame, but also the one in their hearts/soul. The more you embody Hestia’s flame as you tend to it, you learn the whispers of the crackling flame before you find yourself using it. While you can use it how you see fit, you don’t really feel the need to use it in a fight; instead you feel more kin to using it for other things like lighting a candle, using your fire to rekindle the cold coals to boil the kettle to make someone a cup of tea, to light someone’s way through the darkness, providing warmth to those who need it. It’s not as ferocious  as a roaring flame of Hephaestus, but it’s just as powerful. Just don’t use it to hurt for evil misdeeds. While the Flamekeepers are non-combatants, mostly, it doesn’t mean they won’t take up arms and do what is necessary when faced with danger; especially if it threatens the home and hearth. It’s a rare sight but when a force or someone tries to encroach your hearth with evil intentions to cause harm and destruction, the Flamekeepers will bear arms and stoke the flames that will burn away the evil.
Furthering healing and with fire, I also think the Flamekeepers are a master of blessings and curses. While rare to bestow a curse onto others, you still learn how to cast both blessings and curses, because to be knowledgeable in one, is to learn the other. In rare cases, you have to cast curses when someone has encroached the Flamekeepers’ place without permission or done something bad towards them. This information is more or less an open secret since Hestia doesn’t approve of her priestesses casting curses willy-nilly. Besides, it’s majorly to learn about curses to learn how to break them. The Flameskeepers are often bestowing others blessings when they leave camp for the year or when they go on a mission, and people come to you for help to burn curses; most often caused by Campers. Afterall, fire not only bestows warmth, it also burns.
It’s not a whole lot but I believe seasoned Flamekeepers are able to claim sanctuary and create a safe space in space they’ve made their own. From starting a small campfire in the middle of nowhere to your own personalized space. Anyone who enters your space that you’ve opened your door to is safe from danger, allowing you and others to rest and be safe. It won’t stop a god or a titan, but the more powerful and well-seasoned Flamekeeper is, the stronger their sanctuary is. So at the least, you can keep evil and some monsters away while you help feed and care for them; which is as much as demigods can ask for.  In a more practical movement, you can protect others to a degree.
Like the Huntresses who have their silver palkas and gear, when enough time has elapsed and when they pledge to Hestia, they’re gifted with a veil. It not only as a minor protection, it also has minor invisibility that lets the wearer hide away from evil, harm, and such. It's not as invincible as wearing the Nemean Lion hide or powerful with the invisibility as the Helm of Darkness of Hades, but for a priestess of Hestia? That’s more than enough.  You can wear it on your head like a veil or a headcovering (i.e. tichel, hijab, dupatta, so forth), a shawl, a scarf, to wrap around your waist, or whatever you like you find comfortable. It’s been weaved together with the help of all the sisters within the Flameskeepers with little ember hole marks by Hestia. If the Flameskeeper don’t have the beads from Camp Halfblood or Tattooed by Camp Jupiter, they have (also) the veil. Each year you all get together to embroider your veil with a design, helped by your sisters or by yourself, showing everyone. It can be elaborate or as simple as you like.
In a more practical, down to earth way, the Flamekeepers are domestics. I would like to think overtime each individual Flamekeeper becomes more talented in certain domestic activities; either its mending and sewing clothes, cooking and/or baking, and so forth. Being from the Hearth, you bring a home-like quality to everything you do and especially as you sing songs from home. So imagine all of that with some magical, blessing effect. So I guess if I had to put a term for it, it would be literal Household Magic.
Tumblr media
That’s all I can think of. There’s probably more that other Flameskeepers that may think of when reading this but that’s only the beginning. Thanks for asking this, I had a lot of fun thinking about this! Hope you all have a great day!

All my posts about Henry aged like fine wine but I was digging through some just now and found this one and decided to share it again. This is an analysis on Henry's childhood / the flashback scenes from the lab and Nancy's vision that I was tagged in.
In regard to the post you tagged me in: I am actually am gonna probably be boring and predictable here and say I don’t think it means Henry’s hiding anything at least not about his mother and while you know I came out here with the whole "Virginia’s cheating" thing and believe that is canon and MIGHT be addressed somehow next season, yeah I don’t think those scenes relate to anything about Virginia – they’re all about HENRY himself. I think we were meant see that basically Henry started getting… Really weird during his time in the Creel house. Like concerningly weird, like there is way more going on here than we know weird. ( If that makes sense. ) I think the scenes in question are suppose to show us that for whatever reason Henry was collecting up spiders and scurrying his little ass up to the attic where he kept a weird little shine to them and this has significance. Loving spiders is one thing, but this entire set up and the things Henry says about them is suppose to clue us into other things going on that we cant be told or explicitly shown at this time.
For me its suppose to highlight his unusual behaviors and how he didn’t go into that house acting that weird. Not in the normal realms of just an autistic kid who really likes spiders but the ‘abnormal’-weird STARTED in that house.
Also side note, I think Henry’s weird and secretive about this not just for the fact this is just weird in general but he probably doesn’t want his parents to know that he’s chilling out with about 5 jars of black widow spiders and thats something hes doing - going around collecting these spiders and keeping them. Those are dangerous, I’d probably stop my kid from jarring them up and playing with them too and I don't think adult Henry could fully explain everything to Eleven in the scene with them. ( Maybe he didn’t even know how to explain it himself, which is kind of what I think. )
This also kinda goes back to the scene in Victors memory for me and why Victor's flashbacks are directly paralleled with Nancy's Vecna vision here. We get the intentional impression that Henry was pretty much instantly “affected” by the house. Victor notes Henry “knew something was wrong.” Thats how he described Henry’s behaviors shortly after they moved in which tells me that Henry either TOLD THEM something was wrong or he behaved differently shortly after getting to the house and this seems to line up because we are shown this.
We’re shown when the Creels first arrived at the house everyone seems pretty happy, this looks and feels totally normal, a family excited to arrive at their awesome new home. When they’re shown walking in the front door for the first time everyone is looking pretty pleased and in awe but suddenly Henry starts looking troubled. The scene with little Henry and the weird thing with the lights in Victor’s memory seems to take place not long after this ( maybe a day or two ? ) because in the background we can see Henry is sitting surrounded by a bunch of boxes. This is presumably the belongings of the family because they were still in the process of unpacking. Now this is probably all headcanon but I’m mentioning it anyway because it seems like Victor also got pretty suss of the house pretty quick because he took the time to explain HENRY perceived something was wrong and he noticed that.
We do also know from canon it was VICTOR that took it upon himself to get a literal priest to exercise the house. I feel like thats a big thing to do, keeping in mind that this is the 50s, people would be AFRAID of looking "insane" and moreover the Creel's ONLY lived in the house for ONE MONTH max. ( So it seems like Victor was the only one that wanted to heed whatever Henry told them or just took the time to actually acknowledge his sons discomfort and think that was important, while I feel like Virginia probably shut it down as nothing and interpreted it all as just Henry trying to ruin things for them particularly before the “visions” start and those don’t start until way closer to the murders. And even then, it seems like Virginia didn't want to blame anyone except Henry and Henry does explain she literally hated him. — Personally I think this all kinda mirrors season 2 in a way when Will was infected by the MF and he very quickly started acting odd but he had a mother who actually cared, took notice, and tried to help in a better way than deciding to throw her kid in the looney bin and blame him for everything bc fuck him. )
We also saw Victor noting the attic stair door open and feeling compelled to go up there but during this time there is no trace of Henry up there, its just a bunch of old stuff that I PERSONALLY don’t think even belonged to Victor and his family. I think a majority of the shit up there was left there from whoever lived there before because we know they didn’t live there long enough for everything to be looking that dusty and old, and there's just some weird things up there like a pram and a piano. ( Again, they only lived in the house for a month and canon does tell us this. )
So we can probably assume due to Henry’s lack of appearance up here at this time Victor’s inspection of the attic was fairly close to the time the Creels moved in, maybe after the first weird light scene with Henry. But, anyway, for some reason Victor got the weird idea to go up to that particular spot and look around. He was compelled to do this which is very odd. He also – for some reason – mentions that the “demon” he could “feel” had cursed not JUST their house but the entire town. Its odd that he chose to mention the entire town. Where did he get this info ? Why would this be said if it wasn’t meant to clue us into something more than we could currently be shown in these scenes or maybe in this season itself ? Its 100% foreshadowing something because we already know theres a special connection with Hawkins and the UD.
It wouldn’t be hard to imagine that Henry, a “sensitive boy” who was able to develop such incredible psychic powers, specifically from his time in that house, was also drawn to the attic and whatever was up there – whatever feeling, whatever essence – whatever it was that was a little beyond Victor's normal perception, wasn’t beyond Henry’s. What we’re shown is Henry starts spending a LOT OF time alone up in that weird, cold, dusty, dark attic. Which he preserves. He does nothing to make it more comfortable for himself. The only thing he adds to it is the weird spider shrine and we’re basically shown him building it. Thats what those scenes are actually about. There is a light in the attic, we know that from Victors flash back. But Henry wont even utilize that to spend time up there drawing. He uses the dim light of candles instead. Theres a reason for this and you probably know where I’m going with this already because its me but we already know of something that can manifest itself as “a feeling” and that likes the dark, likes the cold and likes “to hide”.
What Vecna shows Nancy was the “progression of how Henry’s behavior’s began to change.” From “normal” boy, to boy who notices something weird, to boy who is “consumed” by whatever this weirdness is. ( Presumably because his parents, or his mother in particular rather, didn’t listen to him or dismissed his feelings or behaviors as just him being weird when this particular weirdness only started in that house. ) Nancy’s “visions” of young Henry start with Henry curiously walking around the house, like he’s looking for something, like something is luring him even, and indeed, Nancy starts to notice the lights flickering again when Henry is walking around curiously ( Again, this is framed like Henry isn’t the one flickering the lights, he isn't tapped into his powers yet, but he might be 'looking’ for whatever is causing the lights to flicker. It calls back to season one where Holly is following the weird acting lights in the Byers house and is led to the Demogorgon. )
Then Nancy turns and sees into the bathroom and is shown a vision of little Henry finding the spiders in the vent. Over top of this we have Adult Henry saying he “Found a new sense of purpose” ( Like this is very weird- like what does he mean ? Worshipping spiders ? Why does he think its his purpose to be worshipping spiders suddenly ? Also note Henry’s clothes have changed again so this is a different day from the day Henry was 'looking’ for something and the lights were flickering around the house. Which means the lights did this weird flicking thing a lot. ) This then cuts again to little Henry running past behind Nancy which startles her. We’re being shown another day here again, another vision. Henry’s wearing a different outfit and he has a jar in his hand, he seems to be heading up to the attic. This is also where he starts relating spiders to GODS and also note we’re then shown adult Henry as he’s explaining this and I don't know how else to explain his expression other than with the “ I've seen some shit ” meme like:
64.media.tumblr.com You ok Henry ? Nope. Hes not. Hes not ok. A lot of this fandom's breakdown of Henry's monologue scene is BIZZARE and doesn't reflect whats actually going on at all. They talk about Henry being emotionless and calculated when the reality is he's shown as the complete opposite of emotionless and calculated. Hes shown as haunted and distressed. He's very emotional. He even seems to look like his eyes are clouding with tears when he talks about his parents and how they weren't the good people they pretended to be.
Henry's clearly recounting something terrible he experienced that he doesn't completely know HOW to explain and worse he's pretty much been systematically gaslighted into believing somehow this was all HIS fault. Straight into the following scene little Henry’s now shown with a fully built spider shrine, complete with candles. He’s drawing the spiders. This is a different day again. Then we go back to adult Henry and the weird king just keeps giving. He says “The human world” specifically and ok… Maybe we can think he’s talking about the human world vs the animal world but he isn’t just talking about spiders as animals. He’s actually not talking about spiders as animals at all. Hes talking about them literally as gods. Then he switches from being kind of haunted and freaked out to some sort of look of realization, and then he switches again to something thats kind of cold and dark and it frightens Eleven. This is when he starts talking about humans as pests, “disrupting” the harmony of the god-like apex predator’s and their feeding- But imo- its not actual spiders he’s talking about here, not the way we know them.
Henry is a smart guy, he likes spiders, and I bet he knows a lot about them, and he knows spiders are animals, not gods, and they’re not the only "predatory animal” on earth yet he only speaks about spiders specifically in this way because he’s began to view them as an avatar of something divine. There is a reason the spiders are shown whenever Victor talks about the "evil force" hiding in the house. The spiders are displayed as analogs to this. The scene swaps again, we’re at a different day in Henrys childhood now. ( We’re literally going through a slightly condensed version of the month in the house from Henrys pov. ) His clothes have changed again. He’s standing in front of the grandfather clock. Back to adult Henry he starts to express his own anger with the “human world” from his own expereinces with his ostracization from it. But he’s angry, he’s now ranting, his voice even becomes distorted, and naturally Eleven starts to get more scared. But he calms down as he starts to approach her. He continues to explain, even though its obvious he's becoming more and more emotionally distraught. His hand is raised, kind of gesturing to his head and its trembling, his voice starts to tremble too and this is while he's explaining that he couldn’t pretend to fit in with everyone.
Now we’re then back to the scene with little Henry focusing on the clock briefly, then we’re back to adult Henry who has started to clam down. He starts to become placid again. Note - at no point do I think Henry was trying to scare Eleven at all, in fact it seems that being in her presence is what clams him not because he’s manipulating her but because her being there, telling this to her - someone who he thinks is just like him - is comforting to him. Like he's finally able to express something in some way that he might not have been able to do before – or maybe he might have never been able to talk about this in the presence of someone he thinks would understand and believe him. My personal take is both.
He’s looking at Eleven with some sort of affection here and then we cut back to Little Henry who shows us he’s harnessed his telekinesis, he’s moving the hands on the clock with his mind. This is first time Henry is able to manifest his powers imo and I think thats the significance of this particular scene. ( Which probably confirms Henry was never the one making the lights blink when they first moved in and the lights were blinking in the EXACT way we have seen them do in the show when something from the UD is trying to make contact ) And adult Henry is now more optimistically explaining he didn’t have to be trapped in the cruel oppressive system he couldn’t fit within. He could change it because somehow he developed these powers. This makes him feel like he can be the master of his own destiny- this is when he says he wanted to be “A predator, but for good.”
And then we’re back to Nancy and the rabbit. Its another day again. Henry’s gradually learning how to use these powers. The rabbit is trapped in a snare, its doing the rabbit death squeal as it struggles against the snare; the kinda bad cgi rabbit is dying, going into shock ( and I know this because rabbits have been in my family since I was a baby. This rabbit was in shock and was gonna die whether Henry touched it or not so the fandom take on Henry and the rabbit annoys me so bad. ) Henry decides to use it to practise his powers which adult Henry is explaining to Eleven that “as he practised” he realized he could do more than he even imagined he could do. As the days continue, Henry quickly learns he can literally read people’s minds. So Henry explains that he explored his parents minds and this is where he grows contempt for them because he begins to become horribly aware of exactly how much of a lie their “happy family” – that he was always the black sheep within – was and how unfair and hypocritical toward him they have really been. Which adult Henry is very upset again about thinking back on it.
Nancy runs back inside to the living room and sees Victor and the baby burning to drive home Henry’s point about the “terrible things” his parents have done, with this being the representation of Victor’s ultimate “bad thing” in Henry’s perception. We’re also shown little Henry sitting in front of his spider shrine in the attic and using his powers to show his father this particular vision that Nancy is witnessing – again this is a different day to the day Henry killed the rabbit, and both Henry and Victor are wearing different clothes to the directly following scene which is another day again, where Henry explains that his mother hated him.
This moves directly to Nancy walking into the dining room of the house and being shown Virginia, sitting at the dinner table with Henry and Alice and over top of this Henry explains Virginia’s plan to get rid of him, to lock him away by giving him to Dr Brenner to be “fixed”. This is the terrible thing we’re “shown” that Virginia has done, this was the straw that broke the camels back for Henry, to Henry this is Virginia's worst action. ( Which is valid like imagine the betrayal of finding out that your mother hated you to start but add that to the fact she also and wants to condemn you to a psychiatric facility and the known horrors of them even in that time period. )
And this is when Henry explains he had no choice but to “break free” leading directly to the death of Alice and Virginia. Then we get the scene with Brenner having strapped little Henry to the chair and tattooing him, much to Henry’s pain and discomfort, and with Henry telling Eleven he was glad she was born and all the rest of that.
But all those scenes are connected and important to each other. Its a progression of time during Henry’s childhood and the build up of events in the Creel house surrounding Henry’s strange thoughts / behaviors and developing powers in particular during the month, which are important and imo, its meant to clue us into the fact something WEIRD did in fact actually happen at the Creel house and that there was something else going on with Henry, something even more than he is able to tell us – but it seems he’d like to tell us he just couldn’t because he either didn’t know to explain it any better than what he did when he was speaking to Eleven, or maybe he just didn’t know how to explain it better to ELEVEN in particular, given how young she was.
But even Vecna wants to tell us something. He wants to show us something, even, and he chose Nancy for this which was the entire point of Nancy’s encounter with him. “Now that you have seen where I have been, I would very much like to show you were I'm going”. This is all connected and theres a lot more we have left to see. ( The lab, maybe some more stuff about Alice, the upside down, etc ) We’re gonna find out exactly what was going on with Henry and how / why Vecna is what he is and I can almost promise its going to be a whole lot more than some supremely uncreative, basic shit like “hes just evil and always has been” because they completely misread and falsely represent all these scenes and this character in a way I have literally not experienced in any other fandom.
