"EUROPEANS ATE GROUND-UP EGYPTIAN MUMMIES!!!! ALL THE TIME!!!"
sounds much more dramatic than
"Europeans sometimes consumed ground-up Egyptian mummies, or fluid found inside the chest cavities of mummies, or a type of tree resin that became associated with mummies because it kind of looked like the bitumen used in the embalming process, or the dried and ground flesh of very specific European dead- most likely a bit of all of the above at various times in various places. but it's hard to say what the proportion of each was- and at least one early Middle Eastern physician, Abd al-Latif al-Baghdadi from modern-day Iran, also advised the use of the Body Cavity Liquid variety hundreds of years before the first documented use of mummy by Europeans. so it was a medicinal thing in the areas from whence the mummies came, too. unsurprising seeing as a lot of cultures- including Europeans -have done Corpse Medicine with their own people for centuries. there was also been pushback against the medicinal use of mummies in Europe since at least the 16th century; it remains unclear how popular the notion was at any given time. so the answer to Is This A Good Symbol For The Effects of European Colonialism In Egypt remains a resounding 'ehhh...?'"
"because the whole idea is, is it not, that Europeans were literally consuming the dead bodies of a non-European people who would have had no reason to sell their dead without a European market. and that's kind of true! there was a market that created a demand! but they were also already putting the bodies to these uses closer to home before Europeans started, because this whole thing began with both Arab and European doctors misinterpreting other Arab doctors who were talking about the medicinal qualities of tree resin. so really it's not as simple a situation as we might like to believe."
"and Mummy Brown paint is like this whole other situation where it was supposed to be made from ground-up mummies but often wasn't because Cost-Cutting, and a lot of artists didn't really like it anyway, and others used it thinking the name only referred to the color, and one time Edward Burne-Jones attempted an Egyptian funeral for a tube of Mummy Brown paint because he was so horrified with the origins, so while that's a more straightforward as an Oh Shit Violent Colonialism situation, people merrily waltzing into shops and buying one tube of Dead Egyptian Person, please, my good man! wasn't quite as widespread as one might now think"
"for me, the more compelling image of Europe Fucking Egypt Over is that of a white archaeologist peering curiously into a pit where Egyptian people are working tirelessly to excavate a tomb, their names to be lost to history in favor of whatever rich white person they toiled for. even that image is not without complicating factors- I, imagining it, am a white woman who cannot ask those Egyptian men what they think and feel about all their role in all this -but to me it seems more reliable than the VERY complex and often misinterpreted history of the mummy trade, even as I understand it after like an hour of research"
"on the OTHER HAND, does it even matter if people in the Middle East were already doing mummy medicine, when Europeans increased demand? does it even matter if Europeans felt bad or at least grossed out about Mummy Brown paint or if it wasn't ~always~ real mummies? maybe it doesn't! maybe my instincts as a history worker to say It's More Complicated are clouding my judgment on the nature of colonialism! or maybe they aren't! or maybe different people will think I'm right or think I'm full of shit and that's just the nature of doing public history on The Tungles!"
"anyway I have COVID and should probably go to bed now"
"this article and the Wiki page for Mummia are very well-sourced"

Certified Titty Sucker(s)™
the ones you can shut up by literally flashing him. but its only gonna make him drop to his knees in front of you so he can beg you to let him touch ("Let me at 'em" -Han)
the picture i had in mind was one of them (hyunjin specifically lol) just like laying on top of you with a nipple in his mouth and his other hand grabbing as much of the other boob as he can. maybe he's just come home after a long day and needs the comfort of his titties in his mouth. or maybe he's still inside of you, cockwarming after you both came, and he's calming himself down by mindlessly sucking one of your nipples
Hyunjin & Han (honorable mentions: Chris and Lix)
Biggest Babies
probably the kind to casually lay on them like theyre pillows the most out of all the boys. i could see him coming home from having a bad day and asking you to cuddle with him, so he lays you flat on your back and rests his cheek against your boobs as he looks up at you and rants about his day.
The ones who will literally pout and get teary-eyed if you ban them from your boobs for any amount of time. Maybe they marked you up when you told them not to or they just did something to make you mad so you put them in "Boob Time Out." The one's the most hurt about it and will cry and beg and grovel for you to take it back.
Hyunjin, Seungmin, Han, Changbin
Handsy Ones
would be the type to casually grope you randomly throughout the day. i specifically picture these guys as being the type of boyfriend who will sit on the bed while you get changed nearby, and the second your shirt and/or bra is off he just drags you close to him and shoves his face between your boobs. not like sexually per se but its so warm and he finds so much comfort in squishing his face between them. makes you literally fight to get him off you could try to put the new shirt on over his head to make him get off and he probably wouldnt budge 😭 he just sits there even more comfortable because now he's covered like a blanket LMFAO
Seungmin, Felix, Jeongin (honorable mention: Minho)
"No Shame"
the type who, if he's angry or jealous enough, will grope you in broad daylight. he wont do it for everybody's eyes but will specifically make sure the person that offended him can see it but nobody else can.
also very blatantly gropes you in front of the other members. for some (cough Jeongin cough) its an ego thing, but for the others its just the confidence that they feel because they know they're allowed and they just do not care that the others are 2 feet away
Han & Jeongin, Minho
Casual Enjoyers
these guys love your boobs to death (maybe not as much as Han) but they love them rather quietly. they dont outright tell you how much they love them and, if you aren't paying close enough attention, their love for them will go unnoticed
the ones who consciously care the most about your boobs' health. im not saying the others dont, but these guys will show their love for them by caring about their health specifically. they make sure you get the highest quality bras and does research for + buys you any oils that will give him an excuse are good for massages so on particularly achy days, you don't have to worry much about it.
also very easy to notice how much they love them when they drool and stare holes into them when you wear revealing clothes
Chris, Minho, Lix

Mars in the 8th house pt. 1/3
I'm splitting this into parts because there's a lot to cover with this placement.
A person with an 8th house Mars doesn't just share anything with anybody, they'll test you and make sure that you can be trusted before sharing anything about themselves other than surface-leveled things. From the outside, an 8H Mars person seems distant, kept, shut off, and mysterious; they're an enigma. Many people feel intimidated just by being in the 8H Mars person's presence. People want to desperately figure this person out or pinpoint something about them, but just simply can't. The reason 8H Mars people are so guarded is because they most likely have faced life-altering pain or traumatic experiences at some point in their lives, commonly due to death or betrayal by other people. They can be incredibly hesitant or totally reluctant with trusting and opening up to others. They tend to keep people at arms length and might have paranoid thoughts about getting close to people because of their trust issues and reluctance to let down their guard. They are incredibly hypervigilant people and it takes a long time for them to express their vulnerabilities.
These people are naturally investigative and are great at researching and absorbing information. They're like sponges when it comes to obtaining details that reveals the truth. They love digging things up beyond the surface, revealing the truth, and bringing things to light. They want to understand things on a much deeper, intellectual level to reveal secrets and to solve cryptic and hidden messages. They either are great sources themselves or provide great sources for others and will always show up with the cold hard facts. I worked with a girl who had an 8H Mars and she did so much research on employee's rights to dig up what illegal things our management was getting away with. She obsessed over it for months and was fixated on "exposing" the institution we worked for. I am also friends with a guy who does scientific research at his school as a job who has an 8H Mars. I have an 8H Mars and am deeply invested in astrology.
These people are wonderful friends, family members and partners, and will always be the first responder when someone they care about is in a dire situation. They're also the best person to be with when in a dangerous or life-threatening situation. These are the types of people to remain calm and collected to ensure that whatever is at hand is taken care of. During an emergency, they're the ones to brainstorm and come up with a plan to execute; they're incredible strategists. This is most likely due to having dealt with a lot of dangerous or traumatic events in their lives which caused them to be able to respond to other people's situations with a much more steadfast approach.
Most of the 8H Mars people I've met had a weird relationship with their sexuality in their teenage/young adult years and lost their virginity at a later age compared to their peers. People may objectify 8H Mars folks or perceive them to be more sexual than they are (ex. being told that the 8H Mars person looks like they have a lot of experience with sex even if they don't) because these people commonly ooze sex appeal. Something about them makes people feel incredibly drawn and magnetized to them. I knew someone with an 8H Mars who was a stripper and did sex work. She also had a sugar daddy which I would associate to be an 8H topic (shared/gained resources from another, Mars covering sex). I too have considered doing sex work for quite a while now. 8H mars people may like more rougher and primal sex such as BDSM. The bedroom is where the more darker parts of themselves are revealed. They may also enjoy exploring different kinds of kinks rather than having plain or vanilla sex. Despite people thinking 8H Mars folks are sexually progressive all the way, these people actually need to have an emotional/spiritual connection to those they engage sexually with, otherwise they will feel like something is missing during sex and that the void they're seeking to be filled cannot be reached. Unfortunately, I have also known many 8H Mars people who have faced a form of sexual victimization.
In the next 2 parts, we'll cover certain transformations these people may undergo in their lives, mental health and psychology, life and death situations, struggles within intimate relationships, and "taboo" topics these people might enjoy. If you have an 8H Mars let me know if this resonates :))

"I just really wanted to explore both of those characters and I wanted to do it in a way that I hadn't really seen before, and also just like as a queer person I want to make queer art and that's what I'm drawn and that's what I'm interested in. So I kind of had these two different ideas, it was like one idea was that I would write a book about this rebellious first kid who's like figuring out that they're queer and what does that mean for their like political aspirations; and the other was about you know sort of a member of the royal family under all of this pressure to carry on this legacy and like what does that mean if they're gay. Um-And I'm just like kind of weighing these two different stories and deciding where I wanted to go and then I just kind of had this moment of like What If I didn't have to choose and it was the same story because they fall in love with each other? And-Um-You know in a classic bisexual fashion I was like I'm gonna have both, so I did!"
"It was really important to me that Alex was explicitly bisexual because like, you know, I really wanted the representation of like this bisexual character and then it was important to me that he was also Mexican like he is in the book and that he was played by a Mexican actor. (..) It was really important to me that, um, I didn't want any, I didn't want Alex or Henry, no matter how their stories were translated to the screen, I didn't want either of them to have any type of, um, like shame or resentment towards themselves for being queer, it was really important to me that the stakes of their lives and their like inner conflict was much more based on like the circumstances that they're in. It's like they don't hate themselves for being gay-or for being bi-they just wish that it was easier to be who they were in the world that they live in."
"..Taylor embodies that so beautifully. (..) I think he's just killer in that role. And Nick, I mean, if you like turned me upside down and shook me like he would fall out my brain as Henry (..) doesn't have blue eyes but they sure are sad eyes and that is exactly what they need to be."
"I see myself in Alex, tremendously, I'm very much in Alex, I relate to him so much, uh, truly, I think he's the most like me of all my characters."
"I very much would love screenwriting to become part of what I do, I'll say it that way."

I think that prior to Tim being found out as a spider demon, only Cass had good thoughts about Spiders. And maybe Damian but in more of a "don't kill it, you put it in a cup and move it to the garden" kind of way. Dick *hates* them and Jason had a bad experience with Beast Boy using the form of a spider the size of a dinner plate to jump scare him when he was still Robin.
As for how he makes his silk, i once saw a design of a spider demon that had two black dots at the corners of its mouth and when it pressed a finger to the dots and pulled them away, a line of string was hanging between their finger and the dot. I think his thread looks like normal spider thread (including the size) but is durable enough that only a few strands can stop a charging Bane. It's possible for him to take the silk he produces and turn it into thread and from thread into fabric. The fabric moves and feels like high quality silk but is about twice as durable as Kevlar due to how strong his threads are.
The only reason all of the Bats aren't already decked out in full Tim Silk Gear is because of the sheer amount of time and energy it takes to make that much thread. If he uses all of his spare time to make thread and turn it into fabric as quickly as he can, he would only make 2 or 3 fabric napkins in a month. If he was only eating, sleeping, and making silk he could produce a single sheet about the size of a picnic blanket in the same amount of time. Not exactly a lot of fabric to work with. Plus there's the fact that his thread is very weak by the standards of his species due to a mixture of malnutrition, constant exhaustion, and frequent injuries.
However, most of his family does have at least one thing that he made with his thread for them. They have no idea what kind of fabric it is that Tim brings them things made of and when asked if he can get more, he simply shakes his head and says, "I wish I could, but farming to much of the material needed to make this stuff can seriously harm the type of creature that creates it. I'm keeping it vague so that you guys don't try to buy it yourselves. The person I get this from have been very, *very* heavily researched to make sure that it's done in a humane way. Basically anywhere else you find this stuff is almost garenteed to be horribly mistreating the creatures to force them to produce as much as physically possible. And I got my guys entire stock just to make this for you." This throughly covers his tracks and makes it so that the Bats won't consider trying to buy more silk from other sources. Most of the things he makes for them are small, like gloves or Domino Masks or at most an under shirt to give them an extra layer or protection. Cass's whole cowl is made of Tim's Silk.
As for what kind of malnutrition Tim has, the Bats already knew about that, sort of. John saw Bruce's new gloves and after feeling them asked where the fuck he got that much Jorogomo Silk and why it's such Shit Quality. When Bruce asked for him to elaborate, Constantine ran his hands over the gloves a few times while muttering to himself before sighing, "Malnutrition. Their silk is a direct reflection of their health. Whoever made this, they have *not* been eating well. Probably only just enough to survive and with no... well, you'd probably be glad to hear that the one who made your gloves hasn't been chowing down on an human flesh. But it's an important part of their diet. Yeah, this one seems to have been trying to use supplements for the shit it needs, but that'll never truly work. Like you can take all the vitamins tablets ya want, but unless you go out and soak in some sunshine every now and then you'll always be deficient in Vitamin D cause your body just won't process it. If I were you, I would get in contact with your seller and get them a deal with the local mourge. After all, you're from Gothem. I'm sure no one would notice if a few of the already dead disappeared."
That night Bruce had an uncomfortable conversation with Tim about how his seller might not be as good as he thought and what Mourges tended to "loose" bodies most often. Tim did start eating some from the already dead but he hates it. Not because hes eating people but because they've been dead for a while and only fresh bodies taste good.
As for Jack, he goes into a coma until Tim gets there and he uses some of his threads to make Jack his puppet. However, Tim doesn't have any practice with preserving the bodies of his puppets yet so after about a month, Jack is starting to fall apart a little so Tim sets up for him to be part of a car crash and makes a new puppet to be Uncle Eddie. The second puppet does last longer, but only about 2 and a half months and then Tim eats what's left of Uncle Eddie. Maybe one day he'll be able to make puppets that last for years like his mom did, but not just yet.
Also she isn't dead and does stay in contact. She just got bored of her life as Janet Drake and ditched her puppet, telling Tim "here's my new number and new name and the puppet of your father. Good luck kiddo." And Tim was like "YOURE THE BEST MOM" because really, by their standards she is. Most of his species are completely abandoned once they can walk, hide themselves, and produce silk. Most don't have any idea who their parent or parents are at all.
Ooh! The way you made his silk OP but then put in a very realistic limitation was cool as hell.
I'm also curious how the Bats would feel about Tim needing to consume human flesh. If Red Hood is still killing, it would he super cool of him to offer up some of the people he murders. Hopefully that will be a bit fresher and better tasting for Tim.
Also, would Alfred try to cook food for Tim's diet? Or would that be too much for Alfred to handle so he refuses to cook human flesh?
If Tim or someone else cooked that food (post-reveal), they probably would have to build an entire kitchen just for him. They wouldn't want to cross contaminate that since it could make the humans really really sick.
You mentioned that Tim doesn't hate consuming flesh. Does he have any reservations about it? Are there parts of his being that he hates for not being human enough?
At least Bruce doesn't seem to mind a creature consuming already dead people. Though, maybe Tim (pre-reveal) worries Bruce would mind if it was someone he knew.
I'm also hella curious where puppet Uncle Eddie comes from. Dead body? Bad guy Tim doesn't mind turning into a puppet?
Love Janet Drake. Maybe Tim could go visit her every once in a blue moon. If not, at least both of them seem happy and content with their relationship

are there any bb!cats with schizophrenia or that regularly experience psychosis? people absolutely suck about mental illness so like. seeing characters like me going thru life and being treated like people and not monsters for something out of their control never fails to put a smile on my face! thank you for all the research and effort you put into making sure your disabled cats are not only believable but human. pd: cinderheart with bpd is an extremely based headcanon
Not yet but it's on my radar, plus NPD. The reason why I feel so unflappably confident with BPD is because I know and love people who have it, and I hate that I don't see any characters who are like them! So I feel like I'm really good at handling it, and knowing what's wanted in portrayals of it. It feels very personally important to me.
Pair that with the fact I write BB!Clans as canonically struggling with ableism and all these being so heavily stigmatized irl, I've gotta be REALLY careful with NPD and psychosis. I'm less connected to them so personally and I don't want to accidentally strike a nerve, you get me?
That said... I got an ask a while back that I'd been thinking about a lot, basically asking me about how Clan Culture would see psychosis in the first place. I've actually always been fascinated by how deeply schizophrenia is affected by the culture of the afflicted, so I've been idly thinking about that for a while without sharing those thoughts.
OH WAIT hangon let me explain some stuff about Schizophrenia and psychosis for people in the audience!!
Schizophrenia used to be diagnosed in subtypes before 2013. This is no longer accurate! A lot like Autism, it's a spectrum of symptoms that affect people differently. It's a cognitive disorder that messes with rational and organized thinking, and that can express in all sorts of ways.
One of the symptoms is hallucinations. It's The Famous symptom of it, but it's not actually something you NEED to have to be Schizophrenic. Not all people who are having hallucinations or delusions are Schizophrenic, either! I want to include an OCD character of some kind who experiences some mild auditory hallucinations, actually. The type where it's just random mumbling.
Delusions and hallucinations aren't the same thing Delusions are false beliefs and hallucinations are false experiences. An example of a delusion is, "If I don't click my pen three times, my family will die." An example of a hallucination is hearing voices.
PEOPLE WITH PSYCHOSIS ARE FAR MORE LIKELY TO BE THE VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE THAN TO COMMIT IT Feel like this is common knowledge in this space, and especially within my own following since I make a lot of art about mental illness and awareness, but it's always worth repeating.
So anyway
If you compare psychosis between cultures, you actually end up seeing VERY different expressions of the hallucinations. For example, in some cultures, voice hallucinations tend to say things that are negative or abusive, while other cultures hear significantly more positive, playful voices.
This doesn't mean that they're always less distressing. For example, the study above points out that Nigerian students (reported to hear lots of playful hallucinations) experience as much distress as Dutch students (tend to experience negative, abusive voices) during their psychotic episodes.
Still, there does seem to be a correlation with "less distress" and cultures that encourage psychotic people to see their hallucinations as positive, personal things. Even more interestingly, distress seems to be correlated with income and individualism in a culture.
But it doesn't stop there, the findings are fascinating.
Delusions of grandeur are rare in societies that discourage that sort of social mobility, reflecting social values.
Cultures that believe religious experiences are specific experiences-- like certain smells, temperatures, or sounds, will see those reflected in psychotic episodes
Yet, "voices" seem to be something seen across ALL cultures studied. Though some have more prevalence of random sounds and mumbling than others, they all share some expression of "voices that say stuff."
SO all that to say-- if I include psychosis it's definitely going to be trying to take the culture of each Clan into account, and I need to do a lot more research into what sorts of things people with schizophrenia and various types of psychosis want to see more often.

hey does acknowledging the existence of parts make symptoms worse? like if they have a different name or other stuff about them thats different from you as a part, or using we/us, or generally just talking about them as a different part. i see ppl on reddit complain abt 'fakers' and them talking abt parts as if different from themself being against treatment guidelines but whenever i talk about my parts this way w drs/nurses/etc no one gives a shit. how else am i supposed to talk about it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Posting all three asks together.
To the very first question, does acknowledging parts make symptoms worse, yes and no. I have to talk about both, because it depends.
Typically, when people first find out they're a system or start questioning having a CDD, symptoms DO get worse.
A lot of antis and reddit are going on old research (old research doesn't support them, bear with me). Before the age of the internet, most people had someone ELSE point out that they were a system before they saw it in themselves.
This has to do with how mental health was treated a couple decades ago (having problems was Bad™️, deny and hide symptoms, it's still true but it was much worse), and access to resources about symptoms being much, much harder to come by. Amnesia was harder to notice. These days, every time you log in, you can see what your alters were doing while you were gone. There's no denying or hiding it.
That said, take myself, for example. I'm in my mid 30s, and I've been in therapy since I was 4.
Around age 20, after a very serious event, my therapist and I started to discuss alters. Before this point, I had rarely heard them, as far I knew, they didn't have names or personalities. Many of my alters DIDN'T have names. They were little more than emotionally reactive concepts of bad coping methods-- "the angry one," "self harming one."
It wasn't until I worked with my therapist to gain some kind of communication that my system kind of... activated. Suddenly, all my symptoms seemed 100 times worse, I was noticing things more and more, the increased communication was terrifying, we fought and rejected each other. We became more real, gained traits, names, voices.
Typically, this kind of upset settles after a while, but it's normal for it to get worse.
This type of progression of symptoms is well documented, but it's no longer the norm.
Now, is it specifically acknowledging the alters or parts that cause issues?
Fuck no, and Treatment Guidelines don't say that acknowledging them as separate is a bad thing.
The treatment guidelines are very clear that you use the language and words that the client uses.
What the treatment guidelines advise against is encouraging the rejection or disownment of parts. An example is someone who's religious, and believes that their system is related to possession. The therapist is to refer to the alters in the same way the client does-- by name and "we/us", etc, without encouraging the idea that they're actually possessed by a demon.
This is more about system accountability than anything else. The point is to get the system to realize that they are all in this together, and that the actions of one have consequences for all, including the demon in question. There is no hell to return to, when the body goes to jail, so do you.
This is integration.
Learning to get along, compromise on needs and wants, working together, leaning on each other, learning about each other, until together you're an unstoppable power ranger mecha with useful skills spread throughout the system. Everyone has a part to play in success.
You can't do that if you don't acknowledge them and their differences.
Fuck reddit.

Hello. :D
Just found out your blog, absolutely love it, especially the fact that you mostly focus on the fluff, I'm just weak to these kinds of stories. 😂❤️
Is it possible to request more headcanons about Robin with a s/o ? Like... what do you think her type would be ? How would she realize she's in love ? How would she behave before and after their relationship ? Her love language ? (Male reader btw, if you don't mind of course 😊)
OMG!! HIIIII i’m so glad you like my content anon!! :) and yes fluff is the besttt it’s so cute!!
of course you can have robin x male reader :) i don’t mind at all!!
Tumblr media
i love robin tysm for your request!!! i’m happy to go more in depth on her loving reader :)
please enjoy!
OKK SOO for her type..!
robin loves a kind person!!
kindness was something she hardly received growing up and the first people to give it to her were the researches and especially Saul!! (the dereshishishi guy if you don’t remember 😭)
seeing a kind person do something straight from their heart makes her smile
it makes her warm and reminds her about the comforting things in life
almost as if your being kind to her too
she doesn’t mind if your intelligent or not so intelligent
she would enjoy being around someone who laughs a lot though
not that she minds if your straight faced
she just likes seeing you laugh
it means your happy :)
and laughter was another thing that helped her through her struggles
robin also appreciates someone who likes quality time
so maybe not a distant partner
robin was also alone for most of the time in her life
if someone comes along in her life who she wants to stay, she would definitely want to spend as much time as possible together
especially since she has a hint of doubt you might leave one day
which is why she also wants someone loyal
for obvious reasons of course, she knows she wasn’t exactly the most loyal in the past
but technically to the straw hats she was
if you think about it
it doesn’t matter much else about whether your weak or strong, happy go lucky, solemn all the time—whatever the case may be!
just for the record if your strong you fight together and have each other’s back
and if your weak/average she does her best to protect you
especially knowing how dangerous world, on the grand line specifically, is
how she would realize?
hmm good question
well, robin is either in a book, in someone else’s business or in her thoughts
and it probably happened during the 1st and 3rd options
you know that moment when your reading and all the sudden you space out and start thinking of random things?
yeah well that happened to her and it was kinda flashback of all the memories you two had in the past
she felt intense joy as she found herself smiling at the thought of you
and then you walked into the room
you locked eyes for a minutes before you asked if she was okay
she nodded slowly before looking away
spawning a hand in the wall for a thumbs up to say she heard you. :)
you left the room. and she knew, she was in love 💗💗
okkk time for how she behaves ♡
before your relationshipppp…!
she softly initiates intimate gestures
putting a hand on your chest when she speaks to you
helping you out with random things
leaning into you while you sit next to each other
not completely
just kinda leaning towards you
she definitely asks to talk and spend time together more often
this all really just her showing she cares and sending hints she likes you
remember that smile she gave zoro when they first met?
yeah you definitely get that a lot :)
after tho
it ramps up a bunch!!
and i mean everything
you spend all your free time together
even if your off doing your own thing she’ll come and watch you with adoration in her eyes
if you like to train/work out she’ll be there in the crows nest or watching you out on the deck
ngl i feel like robin would like to be carried if your strong
she also likes to take naps
so if you take one with her she usually gets up first and admires your face
you guys hold hands in your sleep
💥💖💥💖
SO CUTE
she compliments and praises you for any achievements you make
will feed you sweets or whatever other types of food you like
if you do it back she’ll find it endearing
it becomes y’all thing
her love languages areee….
acts of service
quality time
and tidbits of physical touch
which you could likely guess from me dabbling in this in the headcanons above :)
for acts of service
you can ask her for almost any favor and she”ll do it no matter how weird
shes not delusional but most of your weird habits if you have any become endearing because she loves you
she’s got your back in battles too
quality time?
yes.
she loves to do anything with you
reading, training, eating, sleeping
she just loves you
so she spends lots of time for you
she never takes you for granted
physical touch is hand holding
whether it’s an extra arm or not
head pats and gentle cheek caresses
putting each other’s feet or shoulders together
little things like that<3
i wrote this so fast?! i took me an hour exactly 😭😭
i could honestly sit and write for robin all day it comes natural to me ♥︎

Roger Barel: Chapter 9
Chapter 8
♡———♡
Roger: It's a collar. You've been promoted from chore girl to pet dog, congrats.
Kate: Thank you so much! Such a cute collar... wait, collar?
Kate: I told you to stop treating me like a dog.
(Geez, it's such a lovely choker, too. A collar...)
Even if I glare or sulk, Roger just keeps staring at my face, smiling happily.
(...When Roger smiles, he looks like an innocent boy.)
His usually sharp, thick eyebrows are lowered, and his canine teeth peek out defenselessly from his smiling lips.
Why does seeing that smile make me happy too?
(...Besides)
Since becoming Roger's personal Fairytale Keeper, the anxiety and hesitation within me have disappeared.
(Even if I'm being teased, having someone by my side to watch over my growth like this)
(Gives me a great sense of purpose, and makes me want to look forward and do my best.)
(Well... it does also feel like I'm being toyed with in the palm of Roger's hand.)
Still, the changes that have happened while spending time with Roger are something I'm happy about.
(I'm sure by being together, Roger is understanding me more and more.)
(As if he's unraveling a research subject.)
On the other hand, as for me...
(The more time I spend with him, the deeper the mystery of Roger as a person becomes.)
(That's why... I want to know more about Roger.)
Kate: Roger, um... could you give me one more reward?
Roger: Oh, it's rare for the shy girl to ask for something. Alright, tell me.
Kate: The more time I spend with you, the less I understand why you chose to be in Crown,
Kate: and what kind of research you're doing.
Kate: So, I want to know the reason...
Roger: Is that as my personal Fairytale Keeper? Or out of Kate's own interest?
Tumblr media
Amber eyes sear into my heart.
Kate: ...Probably both.
As a Fairytale Keeper, to record his cursed "sins."
And as for myself, surely...
To know what it is that occasionally makes my heart race.
I definitely have an interest in Roger.
But I still can't quite put into words what kind of interest it is.
Kate: However, I don't want to intrude on things you don't want to say or past events you don't want to share.
Kate: If you'd rather not, we can forget about it...
Roger: Heh, haha. You really are an honest and good girl.
Roger: Alright, I don't have any dark secrets to hide anyway.
Roger: Summarizing it is tricky... it'll be a bit long, but do you mind?
--CHOICES--
I don't mind.
You'll tell me?
It's a long journey.
-
Kate: You'll tell me?
Roger: I'm not hiding anything, and you're the one who asked, right?
Roger: Well, I was planning to tell someone someday anyway. I didn't think it would be you.
With those words, a long story began.
––Contrary to the train moving forward, Roger's story delves into the past.
Roger: You've met him, my father was a doctor.
Roger: So, ever since I was a child, going in and out of the clinic was my daily routine.
Roger: I'm the eldest of five siblings. Maybe that's why my father relied on me quite a bit.
Roger: Before I knew it, I decided to become a doctor.
(At first, I thought Roger seemed like an older brother type...)
Kate: So you're the eldest, Roger. No wonder you're so caring...
Kate: What kind of child were you?
Roger: Not that different from now. A knowledge-hungry brat who would sneak peeks at my father's medical books and charts.
Roger: Maybe because he was so free-spirited himself, my father was a tolerant man. He'd laugh off most things.
Roger: But I remember being severely scolded only once, when I tried to read a certain research material without permission.
Kate: That research material...
Roger: "About the cursed."
Cursed - a word I didn't know a few weeks ago, but now it's familiar.
If I hadn't met Crown that night, I would never have known it for the rest of my life.
(Roger found out about it at his father's clinic...)
Kate: But only a few people are supposed to know about the existence of the cursed, right?
The information is controlled, and the existence of both the curse and Crown is kept secret from the public.
(I became a Fairytale Keeper because I found out about it...)
Roger: My father is one of those "few" people.
Roger: Well, I guess he "noticed" it while examining his patients.
Kate: I see. It's true that doctors examine a lot of people's bodies.
Kate: The fact that he scolded you means that your father realized it was something that shouldn't be known to the public.
Kate: He tried to keep it a secret from Roger.
Roger: Yeah, but a child's thirst for knowledge is a scary thing.
Roger: I read through my father's research materials on the cursed behind his back.
Roger: My father should have hidden them in a safe or something. His management was sloppy.
Kate: ...That's why you had free access to medical books and charts since you were a kid.
Kate: Speaking of which, haha, you've been Roger since you were a kid.
Roger: Well, that's true. Now, here's the main point of the story.
Roger: When I finished reading most of the research materials on the cursed,
Roger: I wanted to meet the author of the materials, "Alexander Taylor."
Roger: I looked for him and found out that he was a former doctor at Gracefield Royal Hospital
Roger: and also a colleague of my father.
Kate: Former, does that mean he left the hospital?
Roger: Yeah, I don't know the exact reason.
Kate: Did you find him?
Roger: Sooner than I thought.
Roger: My father had lent him the Barel family's greenhouse on the outskirts of town after he left the Royal Hospital,
Roger: and I found out that he was doing research there alone.
"Alexander Taylor," who left the Royal Hospital and continued his research on the curse alone.
The more I heard about him, the more my imagination was stimulated.
Kate: So, Roger, you...
Roger: Yeah, of course I went to see him. I snuck out alone late at night after my father went to bed.
*Roger's past memory*
--In a deserted greenhouse, wrapped in silence, there was a young man in a white coat, Alexander Taylor, studying the curse alone.
Tumblr media
Roger: I'm Roger Barel, the eldest son of the Barel family. I'm interested in your research, let's be friends.
Alex: ...Yeah, go home?
Roger: Oh, haha... I see.
Roger: Well, I didn't think it would be easy, so it's worth trying to win you over.
Alex: ...You seem like a troublesome child.
After that, I visited him many times and was turned away many times. But when he learned that I had knowledge of the curse, Alex seemed to give up and accept me.
Alex: You're persistent...
Roger: Yeah, I'm the type who will do whatever it takes to get what I want.
Alex: Sigh, okay, I give up.
Alex: You can come here to play. If you can keep one promise.
Roger: Yeah, I can keep it! So we're friends from today.
I was unexpectedly happy to be friends with him. I grabbed Alex's hand without permission and swung it around. Then, he showed me a smile for the first time.
Alex: Haha, okay. We're friends from today, nice to meet you, little doctor.
Roger: So I started going to the greenhouse often and spending time with Alex.
Roger: He was the first friend I could call my own.
The nostalgic cough was gentle.
Roger: I knew even as a child that Alex was a very talented man.
Roger: That's why I wondered why such a man had left the Royal Hospital
Roger: and was hiding in this greenhouse researching the curse.
One time, I asked him a question.
Tumblr media
Roger: Hey, Alex. Why are you doing research on the cursed in a place like this?
Roger: Curses are born all over the world, but there are very few of them, right?
Roger: Wouldn't it be better to establish a cure for cancer, which is considered an incurable disease?
Roger: Then you could let the world know how great Alex's talent is!
Alex: Maybe so. Alex: But I think I have to do this research even if I have to throw away my status, fame, and money.
With that, Alex suddenly looked away with a sad expression.
Alex: Someone will find a cure for cancer, but for the curse... I'm sure no one will find it.
Alex: The voices of the few are often drowned out. That's why I have to listen.
Roger: Hmm. Alex is great because he can work hard for others.
Alex: It's not that good. I just don't want my soul to rot, Roger.
Roger: I always went to see Alex at the appointed time. He forbade me to go at any other time.
Roger: So, I went to see him at the appointed time that day too... but he didn't come back no matter how long I waited.
Tumblr media
Roger: ...I kept waiting there.
Roger swallows his dry voice and purses his lips.
Kate: ...Something happened, didn't it?
Roger: Yeah, Alex burst into the greenhouse while being chased by the police.
The greenhouse door suddenly opened with such force that I thought it would break.
Alex: Roger... why? I thought you were home...
Roger: ...Alex, what's with the police? What happened?
Black-Haired Police Officer: We are arresting Alexander Taylor, a former doctor at the Royal Hospital, as the main culprit in the organ trafficking case!
Roger: Organ trafficking? Alex?
Roger: There's no way Alex would do something like that...!
Brown-Haired Police Officer: What's with this kid? Is this kid involved too?
Black-haired Police Officer: Let's take this kid in as a witness.
The police officers reach out to me.
Roger: Stop it!
Alex: ...
Alex - to help me, he touched the top of the police officers' heads. At that moment, their hands snapped together. Like praying to God.
Brown-Haired Police Officer: What the... my hands won't come apart...!
Roger: ...A special ability...
Roger: Alex is... a cursed...?
Black-Haired Police Officer: You monster! Hey, you kid with the glasses, are you involved with this guy?
Roger: Of course, I'm Alex's fri-
Alex: ...Roger.
Alex: ...It was a promise, wasn't it?
Roger: Ah.
**at the beginning of their friendship**
Tumblr media
Alex: You can come here to play. If you can keep one promise.
Roger: What's the promise?
Alex: If anyone asks you about our relationship, you answer like this:
Alex: "We're not friends. This person and I are strangers."
Roger: What's with that weird promise? Well, I guess it's embarrassing to be friends with a kid like me.
Alex: ...Maybe so. It's a promise, Roger.
I finally realized the meaning of that promise as a child.
Tumblr media
Roger: Th-this person and I...
Roger: "We're not friends. This person and I are strangers."
Alex: ...Thank you. --- "It's okay now."

Oh boy, Hazbin's episode one is finally out.. here are my thoughts on it.
Tumblr media
Before I start, I'mma just say, I'm so happy that they actually posted the first episode on YouTube, cuz there's absolutely NO WAY I am paying to watch this shit on Amazon Prime, hell nah. That's good money being wasted on a shit show, no thanks. Anyway, let's move on.
Warning: minor spoilers!
***
Alright so the first episode, all I can say is, it's a rough start. I have SO MANY things to talk about that I feel like this post is going to be extremely long. So bear with me my friends. To make things simple I'll just number everything for y'all cuz I'm such a nice person :)
1) Introduction..
I'mma be real with y'all here, I'm noticing a pattern with Vivziepop's shows in terms of episodes. Like, the thing I don't like about Hazbin Hotel right now is that they do nothing to establish the characters at all!
You have to watch the Pilot (and I guess do some research) to understand the characters a little better, but the thing with Viv is that she claims that the Pilot episode isn't canon, and that "you shouldn't watch it" because it doesn't count.
And yet, she doesn't even bother to introduce the characters in the first episode! So if you're watching this show for the first time, you won't understand what the characters motives are or their personalities. She literally did the same thing with Helluva Boss! And now she's doing it here, and it bothers me so much.
And don't come at me saying "Oh but that's the point of the show, we'll get to know about them later!" Like, the characters talk to each other as if they had already met before, which means that we won't get introduced to them. They're just there in the series with no explanation.
Moving on..
2) The characters..
Oh my god, where do I even begin? The characters are terrible- I absolutely dislike every single one. They completely butchered them all.
I'mma start with Adam because holy shit he's the worst one of all, he literally serves no purpose in the show, other than to talk about himself and stroke his massive ego in front of Charlie. Not only this but his character design is so stupid- nothing about him screams "I'm an angel, I'm supposed to be the good guy here!".
Alastor just sucks. He's such an asshole in this series and he doesn't care about anyone at all. Like, I get that he was kind of sadistic in the Pilot I guess, but that's because he was meant to be intimidating and someone not to be messed with. But here he's just a super powerful guy who really likes old timey shit, and he's a dick to everyone for no reason.
Angel Dust all he does is be horny 24/7 which really isn't a good personality trait. I mean, he's a porn star, I get it, but he doesn't have to be spewing sex jokes all the damn time, it's annoying.
Vaggie is boring as hell, and honestly it doesn't even feel like she's dating Charlie, she feels more like a weirdly overprotective older sister if anything- plus their relationship feels forced in.
Nifty has been reduced to a weird yandere type character and honestly it's super lame. She deserves better.
*Edit: Vaggie also has no redeeming qualities, or a personality at all. She's literally just Charlie's girlfriend, that's it. There's nothing else about her. She doesn't have a single purpose other than to be Charlie's girlfriend.
Next up..
3) The voices..
Oh boy, some of the voices are not that great to be honest. I still don't like Alastor's voice, he sounds like if Shrek had a congestion and tried speaking with a higher pitch. Angel Dust's voice is TERRIBLE, it's so irritating to listen to- like, you can tell the voice actor is really forcing himself to sound like the Pilot VA. But it doesn't come naturally to him! Angel Dust's voice cracks so many times and it sounds so annoying.
This one is just a personal opinion but I really don't like Husk's voice. Like, I kinda miss his old voice because he actually sounded like a drunk old man, but here he just has your typical black guy who works at a casino kind of voice. (Literally, if King Dice from Cuphead had a deeper voice). Like, the voice is good, don't get me wrong, Keith David is an amazing voice actor, it's just that his voice doesn't suit Husk in my opinion.
Oh, and don't get started on Brandon Rodgers voicing Katie Killjoy- I swear to god I just wanna rip my ears off. I hate Brandon, okay? No offense but the guy's voice is annoying, he's not funny at all- I am so disappointed that they cast him to voice Katie, she deserves so much better!
Charlie's voice is alright, I mean she sounds like your typical quirky Disney princess. Vaggie sounds incredibly monotonous and Nifty sounds off, it almost sounds like the VA is using a microphone with a different quality than everyone else.
Furthermore..
4) The songs..
So there're two songs in this episode, and yeah they're boring. Basically, both songs are kinda like a rip-off of "Inside of every demon is a rainbow" from the Pilot, as they are both fast paced and explain Charlie's motive with the whole Hotel stuff.
But here the songs are divided in two, the first being "Happy day in hell". Which we've already seen countless of times in the trailers and whatnot. The song is a super Disney musical type of shit, which is alright I guess. But the second one "Hell is forever" sung by Adam is so unmemorable and boring. Yeah I personally didn't like these songs at all. I even ended up skipping through them when I watched the episode. That's how you know how bad they are.
And finally..
5) The comedy...
This show isn't funny guys. Viv's comedy isn't good and she genuinely doesn't know how to be funny. The only time I actually found a part of the episode funny was the scene where Vaggie was holding the camera while trying to make a commercial for the Hotel, and she asked Nifty to say some lines but all she did was just stand there blankly staring at the camera and not saying anything. That actually got a short chuckle outta me, but aside from that? Nothing else in the show is even remotely funny.
Alright that's it, that's all I have to say about the first episode. I'm done with this opinion post- If the other episodes get posted or leaked, I'll definitely watch them and give my opinion on them. Thank you all for reading and I'll see you next time!

Spaghetti and Specters
Spike is going to his girlfriend's house for dinner to meet her family for the first time, and Man does he regret not doing any research on them beforehand. Now he has to fight for his damn life over a plate of what is honestly kind of mediocre spaghetti.
For @darthfrodophantom's prompt: Jazz brings a date home for the first time. She didn’t exactly brief them on her family’s whole ghost thing. Antics ensue.
Read on AO3
[Warnings for anxiety and overthinking spirals, mentions of abusive parents (not the Fentons)]
"You're sure about this?" he asked. "Parents don't typically like me."
He was standing on the front porch of his girlfriend's house. The sun had just gone down, and it wasn't quite dark yet, but it was starting to get cold, and it made him wish he'd brought a jacket, aesthetic be damned.
"My parents are not your parents, Spike," Jazz insisted, straightening his leather vest and fishnet sleeves, and he relished the warmth of her hands as she did so. "My younger brother has a goth friend who comes over all the time, and they've never had a problem with her. They're not the types who judge based on appearances. They may be... apprehensive, but they'll at least give you the chance to prove whether your respectable or not before they give you the shovel talk."
"Oh, joy."
His sarcasm was something his parents had tried to shame out of him for a long time, but Jazz never did. She said that it was just a coping mechanism, and a pretty common one at that. The worst she would ever do was roll her eyes like she did now.
"Come on, Spike, they're giving you a chance," she said. "The least you can do is extend them the same courtesy."
"And what about the non-binary thing? Have you told them yet?"
"My brother's trans, too, I think I've told you that before. If they hold that against you, then there are gonna be much bigger problems at this dinner than whether they like you or not," she responded, amusement lacing her tone. "I know you're anxious, and that's understandable. If you really don't want to do this, I won't force you, but you're stronger than your fear."
"You definitely want me to meet your parents?"
She shrugged and nodded. "I won't force you to, but yes, I do."
"Then I'll do it," he said. "For you."
She smiled that pearly smile of hers, the one where you could actually see that she'd never forgotten to brush her teeth in her life, and she pushed up on tip-toe to give him a kiss on the cheek. Spike was actually shorter than her, when he took his shoes off, but his platform goth boots alleviated his dysphoria over his height, and they looked damn good doing it. He liked when she stood on tip-toe to kiss him, loved the feeling of tilting his head down and wrapping his arms around her warm body and pulling her flush against him like she belonged there.
He didn't do that now, because they were standing on her front porch, illuminated by the bright neon sign overhead, and all the neighbors could see. But a kiss on the cheek was nice too.
He took a deep breath and smiled at her. His smile was small and dull, barely a twitch of the lips, and nothing like hers, dazzling, and full-toothed. She said she liked it anyway. She said it suited him. And he always believed what Jazz told him, because she was the most brilliant person he knew, and she'd never ever wrong.
"I'm ready," he said.
Jazz pushed open the door and walked in, and he followed a few steps behind her, his steps feeling mechanical and his shoulders tensed. At first glance, the inside appeared to be a perfectly normal home. On closer inspection, however, there were a few things that didn't quite fit. The vacuum cleaner in the corner looked weirdly high tech, and there was a magazine called Ectoscience Quarterly on the coffee table. The air also smell faintly of ozone and something else Spike couldn't place, something sour. Citrus maybe? No... he didn't think that was right.
Standing there, in the living room, Spike became suddenly and acutely aware that Jazz never talked about her parents. She talked about herself, and her dreams, and stories from her past; she would bring up her brother in passing from time to time, and although Spike never learned very much about him at one time, she'd mentioned him enough now that Spike had begun to form a mental image of the freshman in his mind; but she never talked about her parents.
Spike talked about his parents all the time, since Jazz was usually willing to let him vent to her, though he always asked first, just in case. He liked having someone to talk to that he trusted, and he trusted Jazz more than anyone else. She said that his family was manipulative, controlling, and emotionally abusive, and he'd never once argued with her, because they were. Jazz was always right, after all. The second he turned eighteen, he was going to move out, one way or another, and she had an open invitation to join him, although she hadn't accepted it. At least... not yet.
The most Jazz had ever said about her parents was something along the lines of, "and my parents, ugh, they're certainly not making it any easier."
That, she said kind of a lot. He'd asked before if she wanted to vent, but she always shook her head and told him she'd rather focus on other things instead of dwelling on her frustration. Her parents, apparently, frustrated her a lot, though he knew she loved them anyway. He hoped that meant that she could love him anyway, too, even when he frustrated her.
Still, that wasn't to say he knew nothing about her parents, just... almost nothing. He'd heard the Fenton name thrown around enough, at school, and by adults around town, that he'd at least gathered they were somewhat infamous, though he didn't know why. Spike was never one for eavesdropping, or gossip, and his hearing wasn't the best anyway, so he was always out of the loop on the local hot topics—except for the stores.
The Fenton Works sign on their house seemed to indicate that they owned some kind of business, although doing what, he didn't know. Maybe some kind of technology or repair shop? Although most of the business must've been online or their ground floor would be more commercial.
Come to think of it, he had seen them once before, at the beginning of the school year—months before he and Jazz had started dating, back when he was just the classmate who helped her with her psych homework. If he recalled correctly, they'd captured Jazz in a net for some reason and carried her away. Whatever that had been about, he had not wanted to get involved, especially since he honestly barely knew her back then, so he'd just left.
Now that he was in their house, surrounded by that weird, increasingly acrid smell, he was wishing he'd done a little more research before agreeing to come over for dinner.
"They're probably in the kitchen," Jazz said.
He continued to follow her through a doorway, and into what looked, on the surface, to be an ordinary kitchen. Counters, cupboards, tile floors, all perfectly ordinary. There was a decent-sized, round table in the center of the room with five mismatched place-settings, and as many mismatched chairs. There was a homey feel to it. Though it was a little cramped, and eclectic, it still felt much more welcoming than his own dining room ever did, always with a spotless tablecloth and matched sets of dishes and silverware.
But Spike also noticed suspicious green stains on the table's surface that didn't look like they could have come from any food he knew of. Just like the vacuum cleaner, all their kitchen appliances also looked like they'd be more at home on the set of a sci-fi movie than in an urban apartment. Again, he wished he'd tried to learn more before just showing up here.
There was a red-haired woman in a teal jumpsuit standing over the stove, humming pleasantly, and Jazz groaned when she saw her.
"Mom, I thought I asked you to dress normally when Spike came over!"
"But honey, this is how I normally dress," Jazz's mom replied, turning. "And you must be Spike. My, that's a nice vest! Jazz has told us a lot of nice things about you."
"Uh, yeah, that's me, and thank you," Spike said awkwardly. "It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Fenton."
"Oh you can just call me Maddie," she said. "And it's wonderful to meet you too. My husband's downstairs in the lab, but he'll be up for dinner, you can count on that."
She chuckled like that was supposed to be funny and Spike let out a weak, uncertain laugh so she didn't think her joke fell flat, even though he didn't understand it.
"You can go ahead and have a seat wherever you like," she told him. "Jazz, would you mind letting Danny know that dinner's almost ready? He's up in his room."
"Sure, Mom."
Jazz left the room without a second thought, and Spike was left with the utterly horrifying decision of whether to sit down at the table, risk taking someone else's usual seat and disrupting the family's usual dinner dynamic, as well as condemning himself to spending time alone with his girlfriend's mom; or backing out to find a seat in the living room, and giving Mrs. Fenton the impression that he was the kind of rude, anti-social person who would just leave her there to cook without any company or conversation.
Oh no, he realized.
He'd been standing there too long to leave. If he'd wanted to wait in the living room, he should have left the kitchen at the same time Jazz did. There was no backing out now. Now his only option was to sit at the table before he gave her the impression that he was an indecisive wuss by standing there too long. But which seat? Should he go with the one that looked the least worn? They all looked pretty worn, but maybe that was just because the seats didn't stay in the same position.
Just sit down anywhere! urged Spike's panicked thoughts. Your mere presence at the table is going to disrupt the dinner dynamic. Sit down now before she thinks your some kind of weirdo!
He reached out mechanically to pull out the chair closest to him and take a seat. Mission success. God, this was why Jazz said he probably had anxiety disorder. He was really trying to stop overthinking things so much, but this situation just made that tendency flare up like it usually only did around his own parents.
"Sorry none of the tableware matches," Mrs. Fenton said, though she was still standing over the pot, and not looking at him. "Jack and Danny are both a bit clumsy, so dishes tend to get broken a lot by mistake around here, chairs too, if you can believe it." She laughed.
When Spike smiled, he tried to make it bigger than usual, stretching his lips a little wider so she wouldn't mistake that he was smiling. It probably just looked creepy. He should stop. Should he stop? He should say something.
"I don't mind," he said. "It makes this place feel lived-in—like a home, I mean. I just think there's something kind of... uh... aloof about everything being a perfect matched set."
"You know, I like that," Mrs. Fenton said. "That's a very interesting point of view. Certainly makes me feel better about it." She laughed again. She was a cheerful woman, that or she just happened to be in a very good mood today.
"I must say, you seem like a nice boy," she said after a moment. "Jazz's last boyfriend was a punk. Very disrespectful and reckless. I don't know what she saw in him."
"I'm actually not..." Spike trailed off, unsure if he should even say anything. Jazz said her parents wouldn't mind, but he was still hesitant to contradict her mom.
"Hm? Not what, dear?"
Oh, damn it, she was already calling him dear, he couldn't lie to her now. "I'm non-binary," he said, trying to keep his voice steady and not let it fall too quiet as he spoke. "I'm Jazz's partner, not her boyfriend."
"Oh! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to assume," Mrs. Fenton said immediately, looking back at him sympathetically. "Would you prefer I use they/them pronouns for you?"
"I actually prefer he/him, but they/them is fine with me, too. Whichever's easier for you."
"If you prefer he, then I'll use that," she told him. "I know that's what Jazz uses, too. I guess that's why I assumed you were a boy, but that's my bad. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable."
The only thing stopping Spike from tearing up at a parental figure not only correcting themself when they misgendered him, but also apologizing for it, was the fact that he'd worked so hard on his eyeliner before coming here and didn't want to smudge it by crying.
"It's alright," he said, then cleared his throat to keep his voice from shaking. "It was an honest mistake."
Jazz reappeared in the doorway then, with her little brother right behind her. Spike had seen the kid around school. He kept the company of one of the only other goth kids at Casper High, which was probably the only reason Spike had ever noticed him. He hadn't made the connection that this was Jazz's brother, though.
"Spike, right?" the boy said. "Danny. Nice to meet you." Without waiting for a response, he turned to look at his mother. "What's for dinner?" he asked.
Spike had been wondering that, too. He couldn't tell from the smell because it was overpowered by that other strange scent he still had yet to identify. He could swear he'd smelled it before, but he just couldn't place it.
"Spaghetti, Cobb salad, and garlic bread, and yes, you have to eat some salad before you leave the table," his mother replied. A timer dinged and she turned off the stove burner and put on a pair of oven mitts that were on the counter. "Danny, would you let your father know dinner's ready?"
Danny walked across the kitchen and opened a door on the far wall. Behind it was a dark, sloped hallway and some stairs, probably down to a basement.
"Dad! Dinner!" Danny called down before closing the door and walking back to take a seat at the table.
Jazz, mercifully, hung her jacket on the back of the chair to Spike's right to claim that seat. Then she went to help her mother transfer the food onto serving dishes. While the two of them started to put the food on the table, the building started to shake.
Spike grabbed the table, surprised. Was this an earthquake?
The basement door burst open, and Spike's eyes blew wide as he saw a gigantic man enter the kitchen. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit and a beaming smile that was actually strikingly like Jazz's. This must have been her father. She could have warned him that the man was a friggin' giant.
"Did I hear something about dinner?" His voice boomed, though it didn't seem like he was trying to be loud, more like he was just naturally big and imposing in every way.
"Yes, Jack, now take a seat," Mrs. Fenton told him. "Jack, that's Spike, Jazz's partner. You remembered he was coming over today, right?"
"I did not," Mr. Fenton said plainly, taking the seat on Spike's left. "It's nice to meet you, son!"
"He's non-binary, Jack," Maddie corrected gently. "He probably doesn't want to be called son."
It was true that, from a gender standpoint, son was not Spike's favorite word, but with the amount of affection Mr. Fenton had said it with, he actually didn't mind.
"Whoops, my mistake!" Mr. Fenton said. "It's nice to meet you, kiddo!" he turned to his wife. "Is that better?"
Spike tried not to get too choked up. "Yeah, thanks," he said, wondering if the Fentons could just adopt him now, or if that would be too awkward, since he was dating their daughter.
Everything was put on the table, and Jazz and her mom sat down in the remaining seats, Jazz to Spike's right, and Mrs. Fenton to her husband's left. Then the serving dishes were passed around the table so everyone could scoop themselves some spaghetti and take a slice of garlic bread and some salad (not very much salad in Danny or Mr. Fenton's case).
This part of dinner had little talking, except to ask for the salt or garlic bread to be passed. But once everyone had food in front of them, the conversation—the scary part of dinner with your girlfriend's parents—began in earnest.
"So, Spike, was it?"
Spike nodded at Mr. Fenton's question.
"What's your opinion about ghosts?"
"Dad!" Jazz whined. "Do we have to talk about ghosts at the dinner table?"
"What? It's just a question!" Mr. Fenton defended. "What else am I going to ask about?"
Jazz leaned over to Spike and shook her head. "You can ignore that. Ghosts are not a topic of conversation we have to engage with."
"No, it's fine," Spike said.
He really didn't understand why she was acting like this. They lived in Amity Park, so ghosts were a pretty common topic of conversation. When they attacked the town almost every day, that did tend to make people talk about them.
"Alright," Jazz said, as though he'd just insisted on going skydiving without any training, rather than having a conversation about current events. "If you're sure."
"Uh... I guess I'm neutral about ghosts," Spike answered finally, suddenly very unconfident in his decision to engage. He had thought ghosts would be a relatively safe topic, but he was definitely second guessing himself now. Were the Fentons some kind of ghost fanatics? "I wish they'd stop attacking our school so much, because it's really disruptive, but other than that, I don't really care one way or another."
"Disruptive, huh?" Mrs. Fenton repeated. "Yes, I'd say that's a perfect word for what ghosts are."
"Yes, although, I'll say if they were attacking my school all the time, I wouldn't exactly be neutral," Mr. Fenton agreed. "I'd want them gone."
"You want them gone anyway," Danny pointed out, rolling his eyes as he poked at his spaghetti.
This was, evidently, not the first time they'd heard all this.
Spike leaned over to his girlfriend and whispered, "Did I miss something? What's your parents' deal about ghosts?"
She turned to look at him with wide-eyed shock on her face. "Oh no," she whispered back. "Don't tell me you somehow didn't know? Everyone knows."
"Know what?"
"My parents are ghost hunters," she told him under her breath. "I thought you would have seen them making fools of themselves all over town, I didn't think there was anyone in Amity Park who didn't know, or I would have warned you."
"Oh."
Oh.
So her parents were fanatics, and he'd just decided to play hopscotch in a minefield. Great. At least that explained the weird stains, magazine, and anachronistic technology. And the smell. Now that Spike knew, that acrid smell was unmistakably ectoplasm, and if they were ghost hunters, it was no wonder that smell got stronger the closer he was to the basement where Mrs. Fenton had said the lab was.
How are you gonna worm your way out of this one, Spike? he wondered to himself.
What were his options?
First, he could keep trying to hold a conversation about ghosts with two people who A) knew way way way more about ghosts than he did, B) were way more passionate about ghosts that he was, and C) appeared to be very intense in their opinions on ghosts and would no doubt try to make him feel the same way they did. That sounded awful, but as long as he let them lead the conversation he could probably come out of it without looking like a bad person or a bad partner for their daughter.
Another option was attempting to change the topic, but that would require coming up with a new topic to talk about, and depending on the depths of the Fentons ghost fixation, there was a solid chance they'd find a way to bring the conversation back around to ghosts anyway. If they did that, he'd have to come up with another new topic of conversation, and that loop could continue until the end of the night when he could finally leave. He wasn't sure how fast he would have to cycle through conversation topics, and his mind was already blanking trying to come up with just one.
His final option was to fake some kind of emergency and run, but that would almost certainly lower the Fentons opinion of him, so he would rather put that in his back pocket and use it only as a last resort.
In his silence while Spike considered the best course of action, the Fenton parents had continued talking about the danger ghosts represented for the town's schoolchildren, and how they should really be taking much more thorough precautions than just installing ecto-detector proximity alarms.
First and foremost, Spike's goal for this dinner was to get Jazz's parents to like him. No matter how much he dreaded it, he knew which of the options for conversation would put him in the best standing with them. He only hoped Jazz could forgive him.
"So, you guys are ghost hunters," Spike began. "Have you met a lot of ghosts, then? What would you say the most dangerous ghost you ever fought was?"
Jazz turned to him with betrayal written all over her face. He knew that she hated talking about ghosts, and she obviously hated listening to her parents talk about ghosts even more, but if he wanted to get in good with her family, sacrifices had to be made.
Immediately, Mr and Mrs. Fenton started debating who the most powerful ghost they'd ever fought was. Mrs. Fenton said that it was, without a doubt, some ghost called Pariah Dark, although Mr. Fenton argued that they hadn't so much fought Pariah Dark as held him off. He seemed to be of the opinion that the most dangerous ghost they'd ever fought was Danny Phantom, who had—according to rumors, anyway—been the one who actually beat Pariah Dark.
Beneath the din, Spike leaned over to whisper an apology to his girlfriend.
"I'm sorry, I just really want them to like me, please don't be mad."
Jazz's look of betrayal twisted into a conspiratorial smile. "You sly bastard," she said fondly. "That's actually pretty clever."
"Danny Phantom never pulled the entire city into the Ghost Zone," Mrs. Fenton reminded pointedly.
"Just because he hasn't doesn't mean he couldn't!" Mr. Fenton argued.
That went on for a while until Danny huffed in annoyance and decided to put an end to it.
"Why don't you just tell him about both ghosts?" he suggested.
Spike wished that Danny had specified not to do so simultaneously, because what he got was a double-barrelled lecture on the most dangerous ghosts they'd ever talked. Both Mr. and Mrs. Fenton trying to talk over each other, neither of them pausing to let the other be heard, getting progressively louder and louder, even though Spike had poor audio processing abilities and didn't register a single word they were saying.
Finally, their explanations came to an end, and Spike nodded and tried to look impressed, even though he had absolutely no idea what either of them had said about either ghost.
"Wow," he said, it seemed like a safe response. "Sounds like you guys have had a lot of... uh... intense ghost fights?" he glanced at Jazz, who nodded encouragingly. "I bet there were some easy ones, too, though. Who's the weakest ghost you ever fought.
"Oh, the Box Ghost," both Fenton Parents, and, surprisingly, Danny, said simultaneously.
Spike had been hoping that question would carry the conversation a little longer, but he should have known better. Even he knew who the Box Ghost was, a total joke that didn't present a legitimate threat to anyone.
"Of course, I should have known," he said.
"You kinda should have," Jazz teased.
"Okay, well... how do you... I mean... what do you do with the ghosts, after you fight them?" Spike asked. Maybe that question would keep them talking longer than the last.
"We capture them, of course," Mr. Fenton said, which didn't bode well for Spike's time consuming endeavors.
"Then what?"
"We take them to the lab for study," Mrs. Fenton said.
"How do you do that?" That was it. If Spike could just keep asking follow up questions he could make it to the end of the night.
Mrs. Fenton began to describe her scientific process. It was kind of gross, but a little bit interesting. She finished with, "Unfortunately, I don't get to actually do that very often. Somehow the ghosts we capture end up escaping through the Fenton Portal. We keep increasing and overhauling the security systems in our containment chambers, but there must be some flaw we haven't found yet."
"At least they're escaping to the Ghost Zone and not into town to cause more trouble," Danny pointed out.
"I suppose that's true," Mrs. Fenton agreed. "It could be worse."
Eventually, everyone finished eating, and dinner did end. Mrs. Fenton invited Spike to stay for fudge. He said no, since it was getting very late and he didn't want to miss his curfew, but agreed to take a little box of fudge with him when she pressed. He didn't want to make her think he didn't like her cooking—although when he ate a piece at home later, he was sure that her fudge was way better than her spaghetti had been.
Jazz walked him out so they could say goodbye.
"You played them like a fiddle," Jazz said, beaming with pride. "I think they love you more than me after that dinner." She laughed. "And you were worried you'd mess everything up."
"Oh yeah, I was worried the whole time," he agreed. "But you were right. Everything went fine. You're always right."
"And don't you forget it," she said.
Spike leaned down to give her a quick goodbye kiss, taking her hands into his own.
"Thanks for having me over," he said. "Your parents are good people, even if they are obsessed with ghosts."
"I told you."
"Yeah, yeah," he huffed a quiet laugh of his own. "You always do."
"See you at school tomorrow," she said. "I love you."
"Yeah, I love you, too." Then he let her hands slip out of his and walked down the steps, waving goodbye.
He was not looking forward to returning to his own empty, aloof home, and his own cold, judgemental parents. One more year. Less than a year. Ten months, three weeks, and two days. Then he would be eighteen, and he could leave that awful house and live alone—or with Jazz, if she agreed. He didn't expect her to, but he could hope.

Hello, I am from Gaza, due to the shortage of medicine in Gaza, my mother who is a type 1 diabetic and was supposed to undergo urgent eye surgery, has not been able to get insulin or any medical care for the past three months. . Some members of my family fled to the southernmost part of Gaza (Rafah) in tents. But my parents and sisters have nowhere else to stay. They are forced to stay in the Nuseirat refugee camp, which has been bombed since the beginning of Christmas. "I am on my knees asking for your donations. Please help me. where you can.
Goal: $700
**"DO NOT DONATE TO THIS PERSON; THEY ARE MOST LIKELY A SCAMMER!!! DO DONATE TO ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS THE PALESTINE CHILDREN'S RELIEF FUND!!!***
All the casual readers need to know is do not donate to this person; they are almost certainly a scammer (I say this after looking into it further). Scammer, please, by all means, continue reading. I'd love to hear your defense. c:
Let's dissect this, friends. One incorrect piece of information at a time.
List of Scammer Red Flags Within This Ask
This account has quite a few posts, but all of them are reblogs dated only up to three days ago. The only original post is their pinned post, and even that was posted three days ago. They even reblogged sending this very same ask to another person who asked for a link, as they did not give one. This, too, was dated three days ago. This is fishy to me.
After looking into your claims about having a Type 1 Diabetic mother who needed "urgent eye surgery" without any access to insulin for supposedly three months, I doubt the validity of your statement. It sounds like your mother has pretty severe diabetes, seeing that she needed urgent eye surgery. Sounds like she's reached the criticality of risking blindness as a complication. That's pretty intense, and I highly doubt she would last three months without insulin. "Without insulin, people with T1D will die from hyperglycemia within days or weeks." She is no longer with us. Why does she need money for treatment if she is deceased?
This is a very real article discussing the very real consequences of the fall of Gaza's healthcare system. There is no healthcare system in place currently - nothing substantial or official. There are freelance doctors providing support where they can, humanitarian organizations with their limited authority and ability attempting to provide aid, and medical professionals of all kinds trying their damnedest to put their skills to use in ways they've never had to before. So I ask you, where the fuck is this money going? Are you going to pay ANERA $700 for your deceased mother's insulin?
Seems you have done your research on these tent and refugee camp locations. However, there was an unfortunate airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in early March. From my understanding, it may no longer be standing at all. Even if it is, I doubt, very much so, that you are there. I'm not sure where you are, but I feel it is not there. And where are you posting from, if I may ask? I'm curious how you've gotten internet access. Although I'm aware it's possible, from my understanding, it's extremely difficult to come by.
The Internet thing leads us into our fifth point. How will you access this money? If you were to say, run out of Internet connection, where would this $700 go? How will you get it out of your PayPal account? From your local refugee camp ATM?
PayPal does not work in Palestine, dumbass. You are as bright as a black hole and twice as dense.
-
If you need genuine help, I'm sorry, but this isn't the right way to ask for it. I wish I could do more for you. I wish I could go there myself and give you the relief that you need. I'm not sure what money could do for you in Gaza, especially when medical care is literally impossible to find with many doctors having, unfortunately, passed away and many more fleeing the country, but if you're real, I hope you receive the care that you need. I hope you find somewhere safe to reside.
But I do not think you need help. I think you are someone preying on the kindness of others, taking advantage of a goddamn genocide to earn some extra money. Your money is soaked in the blood of innocents. Innocents who could've used it themselves. Scammer, you disgust me. Children have fucking died while you were busy trying to earn some extra cash, profiting from their suffering. Fuck you, truly. There's a special place in the deep, deep depths of the afterlife, waiting to drag you kicking and screaming to the consequences of your actions. I hope you regret this scam. I hope it haunts you.

Hi guys! Got an anon ask with some triggers, so I'm copying it here so I can put a 'read more.'
TW: ED, SH
Here's the original ask:
hey Cas!
hru today? <3
I rlly don’t wanna bother u but I just need some advice bc I’m in a pretty tricky situation and I don’t know who I couldn’t turn to who wouldn’t then tell OTHER people (adults etc)
also a TW b4 anyone reads further: ED (not me but a a friend) and generally bad mental health (including sh and sui)
Basically I have this friend (one of my best friends) who’s struggled with really bad mental health and attempted in the past (we weren’t friends during this time but they’ve shared it with me) they have told me they no longer sh but I’m not entirely sure if I believe him on that but I guess there’s nothing to do except just take their word for it and they are definitely doing better than they were before (about a year or two ago)
thing is this friend does still have a (pretty bad I think) ED (specifically I think they have anorexia but I’m really not sure because I don’t know that much about EDs. I’ve tried to do some research but it’s actually incredibly hard to find any info about them especially in terms of ways to emotionally show support. In a medical sense they always seemed to be talked about like minor things(?) idk it’s hard to explain but often times I’ve been reading actual factual medical stuff and just been disgusted at the ways it’s discussed, like they try so hard to describe it from a technical viewpoint that they essentially the entire mental health aspect of it which kind of demeans the whole thing bc EDs ARE a mental health disorder)
sorry went on a little side rant there but basically I’ve tried to find stuff out but it’s really hard to learn about the mental health aspect and even harder to find stuff out about how to HELP someone through an ED
I’ve even resorted to looking thru some more unsavoury places for info (including anablr), I know these types of places encourage EDs and I am actually not a person who really loves their body very much but I do think I’m in a strong enough place emotionally to do this (and so far I’ve been correct, I’m unaffected) because I just wanted some actual insight on what it’s like
the problem with my friend is that she’s ALREADY in therapy. Her parents put her in it when they found out about her vaping habit but they just lie all the time (she tells me about it) because they have like serious trust issues due to past trauma and I’m gonna be honest, I 100% believe therapy is a good thing but sadly it is also entirely useless if the person doesn’t make any effort to get better
all I can do in that aspect of it is hope the therapy is going better than the jokes he makes about it or that eventually she will feel comfortable enough to share and process her issues
in terms of the ED what im really lost with is how to help
and don’t get me wrong, I know you can’t really help a person who doesn’t want to be helped but honestly I’m not giving up on this person I care about that easily. I will NOT be another person in their life who abandons them for being ‘too much’ or ‘too difficult’. I’ve already accepted the fact that I will not be able to help them out of it really (as best as I can at least)
I’ve already taken to carrying gum and mints in my school bag as much as I can (usually I’ll have a pack of both and I just share them with everyone so this person doesn’t actually catch wind that they’re the reason I do as quite often when they skip lunch they do help themselves to a few of my mints or gum pieces but ik if they knew it was for them they’d stop bc she’s just like that)
I just don’t know how else to help emotionally though, I’m one of the only people (I might be the ONLY person at all) that they feel comfortable enough to talk to about these issues and I just think its better that they’re telling someone who cares about them and is trying to help than telling no one at all which seems to be the alternative. The issue is I don’t know how to respond or show support especially because (thank u trust issues and trauma (/s) the window of vulnerability is SMALL (I’m talking a couple of seconds literally) before they’re joking and changing the subject
Also a small (but frankly compared to the rest of this, not very important) detail is that like I previously mentioned I am also not suuuper happy with my body ( I don’t sh really or have an ED in any way shape or form) and sometimes the stuff he says slightly upsets me (just like once I told him about how my mean grandma told me I was fat and had to eat less and he said his grandma forces him to eat more and that my grandma ‘sounds like her wet dream’ - I know this was just a joke obviously but I didn’t rlly love it considering my grandma is a pretty big source of my looks based insecurities)
like I said in no way is it on the same level and obviously I know it’s not coming from a place of malice because this friend also really looks out for my mental health like way more than my other friends tbh (I don’t know if it’s bc they struggled with it or whether they’re the only one who seems to notice I’m the therapist friend haha but they are the FIRST person to ask if anything’s wrong if I’m acting different and I rlly want to stress that because I know that from what I’ve said so far they may have come across as selfish or something but they are actually one of the kindest people ever) that’s especially why I’m worried if I bring anything up about wanting to help with little things or especially anything about not being a fan of little jokes that she’ll just stop talking about it at all in an attempt to make me feel more comfortable)
for context for all of this, I’m 15 (we both are) so still in school and they’re parents absolutely SUCK (in the most non violent way possible I would like to kill them [not actually but I do really hate them and wish them only the worst]) so there’s no emotional support coming from home for him
I don’t really have anyone I can talk to about this in real life because (for privacy reasons) they’ve asked me not to share it with like my other friends and I don’t have the greatest relationship with my parents (they’re not like abusive or neglectful or anything but we just have a lot of differences and just I’ve very much emotionally distanced myself from them)
sorry if this is too much because I do know it’s a really tricky situation and even though all of us sort of deify you, you’re still only one person and if this does make you uncomfortable or upset (not just if it’s triggering I mean just in general if you’re reading this and you don’t feel comfortable) in anyway please don’t force yourself to answer or feel guilty if you don’t because the last thing I’d want to do is put you in that kind of position
Im not sure if ill send in more anons but if I do then ill refer to myself (and you can call me) lacy anon so you know who I am (yes after the song bc i rlly love it haha)
Anyway sending lots and lots of love from the person who does basically look up to you as their adult role model and who I wanna be like when I’m older <3
Hi love! You're not bothering me at all!
So, first, I want to let you know that I am an adult, but when I say this, I hope you don't take it as...condescending, I guess? Because I don't mean it that way at all. I want to be realistic in the fact that these things you are dealing with are VERY grown-up and scary, and you are handling them in a remarkably mature way, but you are still legally fifteen.
This is way too much for a fifteen year old to take on.
You genuinely seem like the most amazing person. The fact that you have done research and carry around things for your friends, all to help them with their ED is frankly restoring my faith in humanity a bit. But I worry that you are placing WAY too much of the responsibility on yourself. I don't mean to be bleak or too blunt, but if god forbid anything ever happened, I would hate for you to blame yourself, and it sounds like you would. Your job is to be this person's friend. Not their therapist or caretaker.
So, here's my advice: I absolutely agree that you should not give up on them! But make sure you have boundaries. It broke my heart to read that you were going to places like anablr just to help- that's not healthy for you! As a friend, especially at your age, your most important job is to make sure your friend doesn't feel alone. And you're doing an amazing job, in my opinion. They seem to be willing to talk to you, and that's a big deal. But, in the best way, you are fifteen, and you don't have to have all the answers! Sometimes, the best way to support someone is to remind them that they are loved and they have someone in their corner. BUT remember that being there for someone doesn't mean you have to sacrifice yourself or your mental health. Say something if a joke makes you uncomfortable. "I love you so much, but that joke makes me feel uncomfortable. Can you maybe not joke like that?" It's okay and healthy to set those boundaries.
Please remember, you are not responsible for this person. You can love them and be there for them and care deeply, but you are responsible for you and your own health. Don't forget you.
My last very gentle suggestion is this: If you ever get to the point that you are so genuinely worried about this friend that you think it is a life-or-death situation, please don't take that on by yourself. I know it is scary, and I know that telling adults mean that there can be ramifications, but remember that if you are genuinely scared, then an adult needs to be there to keep everyone safe. Very bluntly: Trust can be rebuilt but you can't bring people back from some other very permanent decisions.
Again, you are a wonderful person, and a fantastic friend. But remember to take yourself into account and stay safe in all ways. I know this is probably not the advice you want to hear, but I hope maybe you'll consider it.
Sending so much love! <3 <3 <3

Info post about the au
(If characters seem OOC ((Out Of Character)) it's beacause I'm going off of my own interpretations/headcanons/fandom versions. So please be aware of that)
More info under the cut (Info is subject to change at any time. Info may be added to as well)
-Jobs in the group: Leader, Science experiments (either making stuff that could be useful to them or to help the group survive), managing the radio (trying to get a signal to contact other survivors)
Weapons of choice: ray gun like gaster blaster, spear like giant needles
-Head canon voice: ???
-One of the more smarter people in the group. Is the leader of the group, though he considers the title unofficial, since no one said he was he just kinda became the leader over a period of time.
-Is trying to research both ways for the group to effectively live with things that they have or can get their hands on. So a lot of his research consists of building random things and testing to see if they work, e.g. alternate ways to get power, or better water filters, etc.
-He’s also researching Wraiths. Though theres only so much he can do without putting anyone in danger. But it’s getting to the point in his research where he needs a more hands on approach to it, either that be trying to go out and document Wraith behaviors or trying to study dead ones before they disappear, etc. Might even consider catching one, but knows so much things can go wrong and knows it might get people killed, so is putting that on hold for now.
-Prefers to work in complete silence. But doesn’t mind hearing others talk/others playing sounds/music in the background, just prefers it to be quiet when it’s just him.
-Even though he’s classed as the leader, he appointed Night,Geno and Echo as sudo-leaders for when he wants peace, and since those 3 tend to be level-headed when it comes to making choices for the group.
-Is often standing, as standing desks and doesn’t sit down too often, will often fidget if sat down, just can’t seem to get comfortable.
-Feels a bit of pressure because he's seen as the leader. Is constantly worrying about the survival of the group and generally keeping everyone safe. Tends to try to hide his worries, but everyone can basically see through it.
-To somewhat add to the point above, he’s a horrible liar. He sucks at lying and easily gets caught in it. Most of the others try not to question him on it though, as they know he has his reasons for not wanting to give an answer to things. But since half of the group don’t question it he thinks he’s better at lying that what he actually is.
-Is awake most of the time, has to basically be forced to go to bed, even then it takes him ages to get to sleep.
-Talks very quickly and if he’s distracted he tends to mumble making him very hard to understand what he’s saying.
-Type of guy to answer a question no matter how stupid it may seem, also the type of guy to keep answering even if the person has asked the question a few times before. Understands people process information differently and how easy it is to forget things. So never judges people for these things.
-Is one of the more younger in the group, being 23, most of the others being older than that and a few being a similar age.
-Doesn’t mind what kind of people are in the group, doesn’t care for their backgrounds or where they were before the apocalypse as long as they can pull their weight and help out when needed thats all he cares about.
-Tries to keep his life somewhat private, both before and during the apocalypse. Very few know more about him. Most basically know nothing about him other than what they see of him.
-The one who tends to hang out with him the most is Fell, and Fell also tries to take care of him when he isn’t taking care of himself. Fell basically brings him back down to earth a lot of the time. Sci found it annoying at first, but has grown to appreciate what Fell does for him.
-Has a somewhat good memory, providing he wrote what he needs to remember down, writing something down helps him visualize what he needs to remember, so just has several notebooks of random notes. Doesn’t mind anyone going through them.
-Despite being the leader, he has limited interactions with most of the others, other than when they’re doing their jobs. Most of the others still have respect for him though despite this.
-For a short time lived off of caffeine based things, but Fell banned him, since Sci would use caffeine to try to stay up for longer.
-He’s kinda bad at interacting with most of the others, since he hasn't spent much time with anyone of them. The others have had time to get to know one another, whereas Sci feels like he’s been left behind in that regard because of his job. Doesn’t know what to do about it, so just let it continue to happen.
-When he walks around there’s normally a distinct metal clank/clink sound due to clipping tools onto his hoops of his clothing. So often people know its Sci walking around when they hear it.
How they feel about:
Nightmare: Has respect for Night, knows Night has worked hard to try to get the approval of the others. He knew from the start Night wasn’t the reason for the apocalypse and was quick to let anyone else know that fact. Though he knows Night is keeping something from him, he’s unsure if its about the apocalypse’s cause/Wraiths/etc, he just knows one of his equipment that deals in locating negative energy produced by Wraiths went off around Night. He never told Night why it went off at first assuming the machine mistook Night’s negative energy for a Wraith. But he feels something's there. But since Night has done a lot for the group he’s not going to question him for now.
Dream: Dream will sometimes quietly sit in the room and listen in on any convocation and may once in a while ask a question. Doesn’t mind Dream being there, and appreciates for the most part that Dream stays quiet and lets him work. But he wouldn’t mind if Dream was to talk more.
Cross: Kinda feels bad when he sees Cross, since he basically made Night immediately take care of Cross instead of getting to know Cross himself like how he’s done for most of the others. But when seeing Cross it seems Cross adjusted pretty quickly to the group and life in the group thanks to Night’s guidance. They don’t interact much but Sci makes an effort to ask Cross how he’s doing when they run into each other.
Blue: Doesn’t interact too much with him, will sometimes ask Blue to do a task or two every now and then.
Ink: Told Ink to try not to mess with things in his work space, it’s the same rule he gives to everyone else in the group, but he has a feeling Ink took offense to it, probably assuming it was a rule only for them. Has caught Ink putting googly eyes on his stuff, he does get annoyed by it, but he slowly over time turned it into a game of seeing how many of the eyes he can find, every now, and then he finds an eye or two in completely random places.
Dust: Not much interactions with Dust, but realized when he asks Dust to do something for him Dust will do it without any questions.
Horror: Not really any interactions with Horror other than talking to him about ways to help with growing food.
Killer: No real opinion on Killer, knows when they do interact that Killer doesn’t seem to care too much about his status as the leader. He’s unsure if he should feel glad about it or not.
Error: If he ever needs any help on the tech side of anything he knows he can ask Error about it. But other than that they don’t have too much interactions.
Lust: Very few interactions, but does appreciate the fact Lust reminds him to take care of himself.
Fell/Edge: Gets along well with him, the one in the group he talks to the most, Fell is also the one who knows the most about Sci. And appreciates all that Fell does for him, either it be keeping the others from bothering him, keeping his work space clear, forcing him to take care of himself. Just appreciates it all, so it a lot more willing to give Fell the time of day.
Geno: The second one in the group he talks to most, they just have similar interests and also similar curiosities when it comes to the apocalypse. So often they have a lot to talk about either it be theories or just talking about things they’ve found out.
Outer: Not much interactions other than their jobs, Outer is the one he hears about random stuff about the others from. Helps him slightly to understand the others better.
Reaper/Death: He doesn’t have an opinion of him really, he didn’t even know that such a being existed. Tries to ask Reaper questions now and then but Reaper can be selective about answering them.
Fresh: Hasn’t met him.
Gans/Echo: Sometimes Echo may come to his work space to help out now and then, but other than that they tend to interact mostly in the Radio room, trying to get into contact with other survivors.
Chief: He has some interactions with Chief, but in terms of jobs Outer tends to cover getting into too and from him. So he doesn’t see Chief as much.

Hey, it's the anon that asked if chronic pain counted as a physical disability
I guess I just wanted to ask a few other things because you're like the first person who has actually answered my questions on this kind of stuff— I'm sorry if it becomes annoying or if my questions are stupid, I really struggle with research and stuff, so if this stuff is easily found on google or something then im sorry
I wanted to mainly ask what counts as debilitating? I mean my chronic pain tends to come in episodes that last a few minutes to a few hours (well the most noticeable of it, which is my ribs. But I do tend to havesort of aches in my joints, knees((are they joints?)), hip and some other places pretty commonly, and that usually lasts a few hours but I'm usually good at ignoring that), sometimes it can happen every day for a week and sometimes I can go weeks without experiencing or noticing any pain. I can still do things that most people do I think? Other than running or walking up hills, that usually takes away all my breath and makes the pain really bad (so bad I've had to lay on the floor for up to 10-20 minutes because I walked up too many hills). I don't know if that would count as debilitating
For further context, I am quite young and I don't have any diagnosis, I haven't seen a doctor over it because my parents don't believe my pain is real and often say it's growing pains (I don't think it is, since it started back when I was like 7-9, so before I started growing) so I don't really know much about this or my body really
Again sorry if this is a sort of stupid question, if you can't answer it or don't feel comfortable answering it that's perfectly fine ^_^ /gen
holding you gently (if touch is okay)
i dont think you understand anon im autistic all i do is research please please ask me to your hearts content! /silly
going bit by bit so its easier on my dyslexia, what counts as debilitating? subjective to the person but overall; debilitating means a condition or otherwise symptom of some kind causng a person to be weak, effects their usual functions or otherwise hindering, so for something to be disabling / debilitating and to count as such, it just means it hinders you in some way and generally makes you weaker in a "more suseptible to" way, such as chronic pain making it so you cant get out of bed i the morning, you cant lift heavy things like chairs etc.
it common for chronic pain and other chronic conditions to come in episodes my moms chronic migranes for example only happen about once a month. it still counts as chronic so long as its reoccuring and when it does occur if it hinders you in any way then it very much counts as debilitating and therefore a disablity.
the pain level doesnt have to be consistent nor does the time length, just that its reoccuring in some way.
knees are joints yes. when it comes to joint issues and pain its likely that form of chronic pain is caused by a type of arthritis, fibromyalgia and/or some other autoimunity that is known to cause that. not certain but i just felt like that might be worth noting.
my chronic pain causes me issues with walking just like that, people without this condition dont often struggle with losing energy nor feel pain after walks or runs, uphill or otherwise, unless they have something else goig on with their body. if it effects you lower body its no surprise your mobility in that area is effected in some way too. i got myself a cane to help me with this as i walk uphill to work often (at least its one reason it helps me)
that hinderance alone, effectig your stamina, counts as debilitating, it might now sound or feel as severe as what other people expirience but it counts
it sucks that people equate age to conditions and then dont believe young people like us when we have issues, but age has nothing to do with it, you can expirience anything like this at any age for a number of reasons. i was born with a defect i my spine we didnt find until i was 18-19 and id been i pain for well over a decade now.
you'll find its hard to get people to listen to you now, but once you know what to say, for example telling them how long that this has been going on and how it effects you, even what you suspect it night be and dont let them derail from exploring those possabilities, you can /get/ them to listen to you.
sucks hard that people wont listen in the first place, especially when they think they know everything. but youre the only one whos gonna know and understand your body best because only you can listen to it when it sends you signals like pain.
(i genuinely enjoy these kinds of asks i love getting to ramble)

🤔
Did Gabby almost get taken by supernatural creatures, or someone, hence now she's super cautious of her safety? Krow is giving similar vibes so she hates him and may correctly suspect questionable intentions with Dove. (Or does she dabble in divination and is only right some of the time? Is she more aware of danger due to cultural reasons?) She absolutely knows on a gut level that there's something off about Krow.
LT totally knows what's up and how to deal with Krow, having dealt with similar before, hence why Krow is so uncharacteristically nervous of LT. I think they both know what Krow is now. Maybe that's how he even finds out. They maybe tell him either accidentally or to make him leave Dove alone.
Or maybe LT is like Tam Lin in that Gabby rescued him. Or he chose to leave to be with her.
The reason I asked about LT's physical characteristics being a clue is that I thought they hinted at him previously being aquatic.
But LT's aesthetic really says fae, elf or nymph to me.
His winged boots though look like those of Mercury the messenger. Is he mediating between the mortal world and the gods??
Also you said that Gabby may take Dove to her family or to LT's parent, and that Krow would try to follow... obviously that implies that LT would stop Krow himself, but also perhaps where Dove goes is somewhere Krow can't follow. Perhaps it's a special place.
Is it Under The Hills to the fae court? A remote place in the woods?
Or the underworld?
I'm also wondering if LT is something entirely different that's the natural enemy of Krow's people. Or - in a very specific case - is so similar to/familiar with certain stuff that he can recognise another one.
I'm wondering if LT is a type of bird known to attack [Krow's kind] and win.
LT is also giving some Persephone aesthetics so I'm wondering if he's similar to Zagreus. Who was reborn as Dionysus, associated with Pan and Gaia... and fauns/satyr who are known to abduct women.
I'm also thinking on the folklore of the hulda.
Man fucking nothing beats waking up and seeing a Krowspiracy novel ask in my ask box. Bless. Fucking bless. Thank you for the food.
*cracks knuckles* I'll put under a read more cause this will get long.
You more or less nailed it, so I'll go ahead and clarify a couple things. Starting with Gabby.
I forgot if I mentioned it or not, but Gabby is terrified of ghosts and monsters. She does a much better job at keeping her shit together than her Gabe counterpart though. This in part due to an experience in her childhood. She had witnessed... something, as a small child. Even she is not entirely familiar with what it was, but she was put in actual danger due to it. What had saved her was her guardian.
Gabby is a part of the Quileute tribe. Part of their beliefs is that each person has their own guardian that they look to and pray to for guidance, protection, that sort of thing. This guardian had protected Gabby that fateful day. But on the flip side, she's become... much more aware of things, mostly at a subconscious level, than the typical person. Even so, she just knows things that she cannot wholly explain as to why.
LT totally knew on sight something WAS UP with Krow, but he may not have known immediately what that deal was. A bit of research, a little digging and LT would figure it out. And even if he can't, he... has sources of which he can go to to get hints.
And you got it. LT is... something fae. But in a twist of things (mainly my own spin) he's not... what most may consider "fae". He's not fae like the Victorian's thinking of cute, whimsical creatures. He's a bit closer to being like the old stories of the Fair Folk; other worldly beings that live lives so differently than mortals.
No LT is more... fae as in... an eldritch abomination. Fae as in no mere mortal can possibly comprehend the true grasp of what LT's deal really is. Fae in that there are just some things about the universe humankind can't and won't ever know and understand.
If there were a hierarchy mmm... LT would be on the "prince" level.
If Krow had more access to his... uhh, dealings, then things could get REAL interesting between him and LT
But yeah. LT is actually a fae flavored horror cosplaying as human. He doesn't have malicious intentions with Earth or anything. It's general, genuine, honest... curiosity. And of course meeting and loving Gabby gives him reason to stick around.
LT has explained this more or less to Gabby. She wasn't really. Shocked. Probably said something like "No shit. No human being has your fashion sense." but on a more serious matter, she was given time to process this and LT let her come to a decision to continue being with him or not. Obviously she chose to stay with him. He would earnestly respect her decision regardless.
But the other theories you mentioned are super cool too. I always love getting your asks cause you make me think and have to rub my two lone brain cells together fjddk;fvgb
