Playing the Pocky Game with the Genshin Boys
Featuring: Kaeya, Alhaitham, Itto, Scaramouche, and Xiao
Warnings: Kissing?
Format: Bulleted headcanon list
Notes: The pocky game is where two people eat one pocky from each end. The person who breaks away first loses.
It starts as a fun dare where you and the person at the other end of the bottle have to play the pocky game. As luck may have it, the person you get is the one you’ve been crushing on.
Kaeya
Kaeya looks straight at you as if gauging your response with a slight smirk.
Kaeya knows which flavour you like, so he goes for your favourite and lets you take the flavourful end.
You're nervous; he can tell. To ease your nerves, he puts a hand on your cheek and smiles reassuringly.
Kaeya slowly nibbles away, his eyes on you the entire time. Your cheeks turn pink as you get closer...and closer...
Kaeya's side breaks first, and you aren't sure whether to feel relieved or disappointed. A mix of both, you guess. Relieved because this embarrassing game is over or disappointed because—
Kaeya pulls you toward him and kisses you full on the mouth.
Your tongue meets this, and it's as if the world around you fades away, the sky opens, and everything feels right as his tongue caresses yours in ways no one has ever had.
"Looks like I had to take matters into my own hands."
Alhaitham
Alhaitham has always wanted to kiss you. What would it feel like? What would you taste like? Looks like he'll finally get his answer.
Alhaitham looks at the pocky options and asks you to choose one. You're surprised that he's going through with this, and he says he won't unless you're uncomfortable.
Your cheeks turn a faint pink. Alhaitham wants to kiss you? This feels like a dream.
You ask which end he'd like, and he tells you to pick. You end up choosing the flavourful end.
You aren't sure where to look as it's hard to look him in the eyes. He's taking this too seriously as if he wants to do it right.
Alhaitham seizes the opportunity, but he doesn't want to rush it. He knows you're nervous, and he is, too. But the only thing on his mind is he wants to please you.
You and Alhaitham slowly make your way toward the center with bated breath. But, unfortunately, your end is the first to break, and you're disappointed until...
Alhaitham gently presses his lips to yours. It happens so quickly that you think you imagined it.
"...I think that's a good start."
Itto
Itto turns into a blushing mess when he learns about the game. He's never heard of such ridiculousness and doesn't know what to do or say.
You've always known that Itto cannot hide his feelings. He clearly wants to play but doesn't want to admit it. It's his actions that do all the talking.
You boldly take out a piece of pocky and put one end in your mouth. Itto stares at you with wide eyes as you tap the other end.
Itto has no idea where to look. At you? The ceiling? This is too much. He has too many feelings, and he just wants to disappear.
Itto doesn't even get halfway when the stick breaks. He's a little shocked, but he's in for a bigger surprise when you grab his shirt collar, pull him towards you, and kiss him.
"Wha—no! I'm supposed to kiss you! Not the other way around!
Scaramouche
Scaramouche has no reaction. He keeps staring at you, but what's unsettling is that you have no idea what he's thinking.
You think he doesn't want to play, and you're obviously not going to force him, so you pretend nothing happened. But...
Scaramouche scoffs loudly and calls you out on your actions. Then, he takes out a pocky stick and tells you to put it in your mouth.
Your jaw almost drops. Scaramouche gets closer and repeats his order.
You bite on it eventually, and he's on the other end. He smirks slightly and takes his time making his way toward the middle.
Your lips are about to brush against his when his tongue runs along your bottom lip. You have no time to react when his mouth his on yours, his tongue exploring the warmth of your mouth and stealing your pocky in the meantime.
"I hate pocky. But, I guess it's not bad under the right circumstances."
Xiao
Xiao also has no reaction, but he's dying inside. Him? Possibly kissing you? His heart is racing, but he's successfully keeping a poker face.
Xiao politely asks if you want to play or pass. You, of course, say you don't mind, but you're dying to do so.
Xiao pulls out a pocky stick and hands it to you, a little embarrassed to bite it himself.
You put one end in your mouth. Then, Xiao moves closer and nervously takes the other.
You and Xiao stay like that for a good minute. Both of you are too nervous to do anything, but it's getting even more awkward.
You and Xiao slowly start making your way toward the middle when you feel his shy touch on your hand. That takes you by surprise, and you bite too hard that the stick breaks.
You look down at his hand on yours. Then, Xiao says your name. You look up, and he kisses you.
Xiao quickly pulls back, unable to look you in the eyes.
"...If you don't mind, I'd like to do that again."

Immortal Male Yan + G.N Criminal Reader
Summary: You kidnapped him to get some information about a shared friend, but he won't give in so easily
Warnings: Sadomasochism themes, violence, slightly suggestive scene
Good little Silas.
Always keeps every word someone says to him.
It's his job afterall - one no-one else in the entire world could full. You see, Silas knew the secrets of a lot of dangerous people. The type of series others would die, or even kill for. Why would these people trust a scrawny, pathetic looking guy like him? It's simple really. He has a bigger secret than all of them combined.
He couldn't die.
It was really hard to convince his boss of his usefulness at first. His buddies put a bullet through his skull and tossed him into the trash out back before he could demonstrate himself. Didn't even buy him dinner before hand. Assholes. Coming back after having his brains splattered on his soon to be employer's did wonders for his credibility. He was mostly used as a living meat shield early on, but with his resilience to wounds and the pain they may cause his boss become more relaxed around him. He had proven worth plus is anyone ever caught wind of their ties and kidnapped him Silas would never saw a thing. He was the perfect lapdog.
After that he pretty much became an outlet for everyone's tales. From little white lights to infidelity, murder, and every other sin in the book. Sweet Silas would do his to lean an ear and give input when requested. By the end of the year Silas had enough information to get everyone involved arrested, murdered, or whatever else might happen if he let any details slip. He could easily save the lives of innocent people, but he had a bigger prey to catch than the fleeting high of justice.
After all, a good boy might go to the police, and he was no good boy.
-
Silas greedily gulps down tablespoons of water as the glass clacks against his teeth.
"Feeling better?"
"Mhm..."
A backhand soars across his face.
"Good."
Silas' head hangs at an awkward angle from the force, red stained saliva dribbling down his lips. He bite into the lower one to avoid making a sound. Normally he'd hold his captor to the same standards as his friends in regards to filling his stomach with something other than water before smacking him around, but this was no ordinary kidnapper. They were intoxicating, threatening, the exact type of person he'd love to...
Ugh, he's getting carried away again.
Best not to do that while he's still playing an innocent victim, especially in front of his Doll. Just a single week before his employment, Silas fell in love. The culprit of his stolen heart was a crook committing another robbery that night, the two's paths crossed in an alley behind the bank. No questions asked, his future spouse stabbed him directly in his chest before they fled the scene. That boldness almost made them an optional playmate, but that hint of guilt in their eyes swept him off his feet. Researching them only made him fall madder in love. He would do anything to have them.
"I don't want to hurt you. Just tell me code to his safe and I'll let you go.
Facing away, Silas is fully able to roll his eyes. At least threaten his life if he speaks while you're at it.
"Please... I really don't know what you're talking about. I'm just a waiter!" He fights in his restraints and sobs with wide eyes, hoping to sell the act anc draw attention away from his lower body. Pitching a tent right in front of his doll on their first meeting was rather embarrassing. You snarl as you pick up your knife.
"Just tell me what I want to know!"
You're so pretty when you scream. Silas can't wait for his turn to play. He holds it isn't too long so he can take a picture of his wounds and mirror them on you so you'll have matching scars. Sure he'll have to redo his now and then, but the photos you take at your wedding won't know that.
You ghost the blade down along his neck. Silas swallows to feel its point and prevent himself from choking on the blood collecting in his mouth. He wants to act just a little longer - but you're making it so hard teasing him like that. He repeats his scripted moto in his head like a pray as you drag the knife down his chest.
Scream. Cry. Scream. Cry. Ah-
Your eyes grow to the size of dinner plates as the tiny moan sounds within the empty room. It's not a whimper you're used to, but one of pure unadulterated lust. "Did.. you just."
No going back now. So much for that.
"Guess I just can't help it, Dolly. You're too fucking irresponsible. I know you wanna hurt me, but since I love you so much I wanna let you in on a little secret. You can hurt me, but you can't kill me. Break me apart if you don't believe me. I'll be back tomorrow to take what's mine."
You step back as he erupts into a fit of shrill laughter. "That bastard- Always hiring the freaks. I can't believe he ditch me for someone like you."
His laughter stops. That's a secret his boss never shared with him. That old fuck would've been dead long before then if he had.
"Ohh, did he do something to hurt you? That changes everything. I'll give you whatever you want to know down to his house code if you let me have first cut."
"Why would you help me?"
"I already told you, Doll." Silas stands up and drops the cuffs to the ground, dislocated bones bopping back into place as he flexes. "I love ya, and I'm gonna make sure whoever's hurt you pays. Got this job just to help you out anyway. Issue is if you want me to spill the beans without a few dates first you gotta spilling my guts on the floor as my spit spills down your pretty throat."

For blind boxes I have a few single ones here and there but here are some of my main collections:
Tumblr media
I have a handful of the Finding Unicorn x AAMY figurines already. The three on the left are from the Melt With You series and the one on the right holding the flower is from the Picnic With Butterflies series.
These are good ones to get since all the options are so pretty you can’t really lose! I’ll definitely be saving up to get one from the new Clockwork Toy City series (if I don’t just bite the bullet and try and get a confirmed/used Dalmatian Waltz), and I know there is also The Magicians Story series that I don’t know too too much about but they are definitely perfect for Halloween!
Tumblr media
Another super cute Finding Unicorn figurine set is Molinta! These figures always remind me of children’s book illustrations. The one on the left holding the flags is from the Camping Vlog series and the rest are from the Spring List series.
I for sure want to get my hands on more of the Camping Vlog series, and the Gossip Club series is also very cute! I was going to say though that they’re not really my style but upon giving them another look uuuh I may also need to add one to the list 🫣
Tumblr media
And of course the ones that started it all are Smiski figurines! They are by far the most I have, but ones I’m most likely not going to be able to get more of in the near future.
For whatever reason they’re kind of a little more expensive and on the scarce side (at least for the series I’m looking for). I definitely lucked out in having a local store have almost every series stocked up and for much cheaper until they ran out and never restocked them 😭
Who knows, maybe one day they will be back but in the mean time I’m fine saving to boost up my other sets.
Side note though, if you do get some Smiskis, I recommend having them by a window or lamp. I have them set up on my desk directly underneath a light and it’s always very fun turning it off at night.

Thinking about how Soap would never outright confess to you.
He likes you and he knows (hopes) you like him too. He’s funny, charming and handsome. What’s there not to like? (everything according to Gaz but he has no say in this) However, you two have yet to confess your feelings to each other, and truth be told Soap expects you to bite the bullet first.
The bullet must be thick as shit because woho boy is this taking too long for his liking.
So rather than doing the logical thing which is talking to you about it, he instead conjures up the great plan to make you jealous. He’s never seen you jealous before so he doesn’t know if this will work but he’s also never tried to make you jealous before. What could go wrong? (Everything if you ask Gaz but Soap has made it his mission to ignore the man)
He squishes down any doubts he might have a sets this great plan into motion.
However he quickly learns this plan is doomed to fail and Gaz has to bite his tongue so that the words “I told you so” don’t slip past his lips.
At one point he’s on the verge of ripping his Mohawk out because why aren’t you paying attention while he’s getting chummy with another soldier (sure you have to make sure the recruits you’re responsible for don’t shoot someone’s head off but still!) and why do you barley react when he mentions the name of someone back home (sure he may be talking about his pets or intimate objects here but you don’t know that) and why are you comfy with people feeling all upon him (sure they’re medevacs and he’s injured but hey how can you be so calm with their hands on his chest?)
But weeks pass and nothing has really happened. He’s starting to have his doubts and they only grow when you’re one day sitting with 141 in the mess hall and out of nowhere mention this one friend from back home. You had received a package from them and there’s no hiding how ecstatic you are about it. On top of that most of the conversation is about this friend and the fond memories you have with them.
Soap is quiet, unusually quiet; head in his hands and playing around with the food on his table (more than usual). Gaz nudges him subtly and gives him a look as if asking if he’s okay. Soap just shrugs in response and goes back to playing with what he thinks (hopes) is meatloaf.
You do notice he seems a bit off though especially when you’re going back to your rooms but when you try to talk to him about it he just shrugs you off and shuts the door in your face. You just chalk it up to him having a bad day and decide to give him space. But the bad day doesn’t last for 24 hours, instead it lasts for a whole week.
People think you look like two dejected puppies walking around on base but for some reason you refuse to talk to each other?
One more longing look from the two of you and Gaz is smashing his face in so he decides it’s time to step in, corners the both of you, shoves you into some storage room until you have resolved your issues.
There’s no use arguing, Gaz won’t let you out til you have resolved this so you decide your only option is to talk.
“So…”
“Soo..” he parrots back to you.
“How have you been?”
“Good” he says, while rocking back and forth on his heels.
“That’s good” is all you manage to conjure up in reply. You don’t know what else to say and he doesn’t look like he wants to talk anyway but all of a sudden you hear him say
“So how’s your friend?” He’s not meeting your gaze and you fear that if he keeps up with his rocking motion he’ll tumble over. “My what?” You say confusion dripping from your tone but your hand has subconsciously found its way to his shoulder in hopes of preventing the fall that’s bound to happen.
He stops his rocking motion, gaze falling to the floor and this time he speaks in a much lower tone “the one that sent you the package”
“Oh! Good..? Why-“
“Do you like them?”
You momentarily blink at him before you find the words to respond “w-what?”
“It just seems like you like them -“
“What? No! I like you!”
“What?” Now it’s his turn to be surprised, not only that but he almost falls back and you quickly grab onto his waste to hold him in place.
“I thought it was clear ?”
“Well you- you never got jealous when I talked about someone else or when I hung out with that one soldier or- “
You’re silent as you think back at all those moment that you had brushed off as friendly interactions and innocent mentions.
“Well I didn’t see why I should be jealous when I know I’m the one you like” you say, plain and simple.
He’s blushing, absolutely burning head to toe and he thanks everything under the sun for the weak bulb light because he probably looks like a tomato “o-oh alright”
His hands subconsciously raise to cover his face but before he can do so you grab onto them. Although you chuckle at his shy reaction you cant help but melt while looking at him. He looks up at you under those long lashes, cheeks flushed and eyes glimmering and you think that he just looks so pretty. “Can I kiss you?” You ask him. He has the mind to straight up rip out the light bulb because there’s no hiding how red he is. However all those thoughts dissipate when he sees the anticipating look on your face, the way your gaze shifts between his eyes and lips and the way you’re now standing a tad bit closer to him. “Sure “ he says, swallows hard before his lips meet your own.
“Thank fuck” you hear Gaz’s voice through the door. You even hear the celebratory sound of a fist hitting the door before he leaves the two of you alone.
“We’re still locked in..”

Date gone wrong : Jason Todd x plussize!fem!reader pt 1
Tumblr media
@jasontoddsthickbabe - here you go :D
summary: being bigger girl is not always easy. Especially when it comes to the dating and relationships. However, they say that there are plenty fish in the sea, so maybe some people are just to stubborn to realise they are looking in all the wrong places,
This can be read as a story preceding to my other plussize!fem ff: Beneath and Snickers and Hoodies
Warning: mention of past trauma and eating disorder.
Clarification: I have nothing against make-up, dresses, woman's magazines and girls who are feminine. I'm just creating reader as more of a tomboy, because I seriously believe we need more representation of such.
***
„What are you doing?”
„Thinking.”
„You sure you are not worrying?”
“Yes, Dick, I am pretty sure I am not.”
“You got that face you know. “
“What face?”
“The face you do when you are worried” he grinned, making her roll her eyes
“You are unbelievable….”
“I know. Now come on, if there’s anything you want to share with your best friend….”
“On second thought there may be one thing.” She tapped her chin “and you may be right , I may want to share with my best friend.”
“Well then….”
“I’m gonna go find Tim. Have you seen him around?”
“That is so not fair!” Dick rushed right after her, not wanting to miss any of the gossip that she may tell Tim. After all, he was the oldest brother, and her oldest friend, it was his dutyto take care of Y/N.
***
Before Y/N started working in tech department of Gotham’s press and met Dick, she was a freelancer for a woman’s magazine. Now, thinking back it was the worst time of her life. She was never really interested in all those articles like  “12 make up tricks to make your eyes look bigger” or “10 ways to make a man fall for you” Ugh! This was just too objectifying – was it really the purpose of a girl to play pretend just to catch attention?  But she was newly graduated and needed money to keep herself afloat, so the best option to have any income was to adjust to the realities. And that meant accepting the open slot and cut down on her ambition. Just a bit and just for the time being.
“One year” she was telling herself “you have to stick here one year, get a name for yourself and then you will be able to choose any other newspaper to work for.”
Biting the bullet she was writing all those silly news and gossips, counting the days to the desired promotion and submitting to the wishes and whims of her boss. The editor was not the person to discuss with, she always knew better what would turn out to be popular, and when one day she called Y/N into her office, the girl knew there was a task for her. Arguably the one she would not like.
“I’m sorry, boss, you want me to do what?”  she raised an eyebrow involuntarily, but quickly realized it was not professional. She was the newbie, with no power to bargain, treated rather like a coffee delivery and courier than a real journalist. If she was to act even a bit too cocky with the boss that would end with her on the street.
“I’m pretty sure you heard me the first time, but I’ll repeat it for you. I need you to go to ten different dates with ten different boys found on dating app and write a reporting on it. “
“But….”
“No buts.” The boss cut her off “you got two weeks and I want to see it on my desk.”
“Two weeks?” that would mean she would be forced to go out almost every night “But…..”
“You can go now, Y/n. Good luck.”
This was like a nightmare coming alive. Y/N did not have good experiences with men or with dates or with that whole relationship stuff. Maybe it was partially because of her childhood issues. She never felt wanted or accepted for who she was. Her father practically did not care about her, only willing to acknowledge her presence when he was in need of help or feeling lonely enough to settle for her in the absence of someone better. Not exactly a role model. Y/N did not have any male friends in school as well, to focused on being an A grade student to please her strict mother. Burdened with pressures and expectations from everyone, herself included, she got dragged into eating disorder that left her a bit bigger than her friends. At some point it felt like food was her way to suppress all the emotions, good and bad. Instead of letting her feelings out she was drowning them by sticking food in her mouth and stomach. It was shameful and embarrassing and the more she tried to hide this sick self-defense mechanism the worse it got.  Finally, after a lot of hard work she dealt with it, but her weight and curves stayed in place. She was still bigger.
On good days, the outlook and weight never bothered her, she was just doing her own things, not caring who thought what about her, but on the bad days – she didn’t even want to leave the house and show herself. On those days she watched comedies and sitcoms that would lift her spirits and help her regain some confidence. But not with men. Her sarcastic and a bit harsh attitude alongside with emotional unavailability was not helping either. There were countless times when she heard from her mother, grandmother, aunts and cousins that she should be sweeter, lighter, feminine ….. All those words made her laugh inside. To hell with those comments. She was not going to be the men pleaser, and if that meant being alone then so be it.
But now, the task to come was bringing back all her insecurities. Again. So instead of treating it like a cruel joke from the boss (since at first she believed it was assigned to her only to mock her) she started thinking about it more like a job.  Involuntarily she created a fake account on the app and started her work. Maybe this would turn out to be a good social experiment.
***
“Hey Tim, can I have a minute of your time….” Y/N asked noticing the middle Wayne seated on the couch with some newspaper in his hands  “what are you reading…..? Oh, shit……” she hissed realizing the article Tim was so engaged in.
“Y/N?” the boy raised head and his eyes landed straight on her face “You did work for this magazine in the past, right?”
“I…. um…. Yes” there was no point in lying. Knowing Tim, he already got everything figured out.
“And you had one very particular nick you used for your articles, right?”
“Yeah, I…..”
“I am sorry.” Tim put the paper down and stood up to hug his friend. Y/N just stood frozen for a second not sure what to do, but after a few seconds reciprocated his embrace “you did not deserve any of it.”
“It’s in the past, Tim. I haven’t really thought about it in a long time.”
“Still. You did not ….”
“Mhm, you said it” she cut him off “and thank you for that. But what interests me the most here is how the hell did you find this outdated magazine?”
“I…..” Tim hesitated  and scratched his head
“Oh, you were spying on me.” She smirked
“That’s not the word I would use, but…. Look, you have been sad lately and Steph suggested….”
“So she was involved in this as well, great. I guess I should have known it from the beginning.”
“Don’t be mad at me, Y/N.”
“I am not.” she assured “I just need you to keep it to yourself, all right? Can’t risk your brothers finding it and…..”
“Finding what?” Dick peeked through an open door with a shit eating grin on his face
“NOTHING!”
“Oh you two are hiding something.” He muttered coming closer to the sofa. Predicting his next moves, Y/N quickly reached for the magazine, grabbed it and started running the other way but before she was able to escape Jason stood in her way and she ended up crashing into his chest.
“Auch!” she yelled, the paper falling from her hands, while Jason’s arm grabbed her securing her before hitting the ground.  Too close, too damn close.
“What the hell is going on here?” he asked, eyes switching between Tim, who just shrugged, Dick who quickly throw himself to gather the magazine and Y/N who wriggled out of his embrace, being the first to grab the paper.
“Come on, Y/N. Don’t be like that. Show me what is it.” Dick hissed, while Y/N hid behind Jay using him as a shield. “Don’t be a kid.”
“I am not the only one who’s acting like one! This is mine!”
“And yet, you let Tim read it!”
“In her defense, she didn’t know about it.” Tim chimed in
“Irrelevant. If Tim knows, we all knows.”
“Is that how it works now?”
“Pretty sure it was always like that.”
“I wonder why the hell do I even came here in the first place” Jason sighed and without any effort grabbed Y/N from behind, snatching that damn paper off her hands. “And you claim I am the crazy one here.”
“Give it back!” she struggled against his arms, but he did not let go. Just one of them was enough to keep her in place.
“What even is it? 10 dates that went wrong? Wait, did you write it?”
“Please…..” she whispered “please, give it back to me…..” her eyes were so pleading that it almost, almost got Jason wavering. He wondered why. Y/N just seemed to have strange effect on him and he wasn’t sure whether he liked it or not.
“I…..”
“Hey, Y/N. Relax. It’s just some funny article of yours, right. Nothing to be ashamed of. Or worried. Or…..” Dick opened the article, clearly ready to read it out loud “Y/N? Are you all right?” she was sobbing now and that was an unexpected view.
“You know what. I’m done fighting with you. Read ahead, but it’s not a funny little article.”
“Y/n….” Jason looked at her carefully. He recognized that look in her eyes. It was the same as he had when after coming back from the dead and dealing with all the shit in Gotham he still felt not wanted. Like a piece of trash. Clearly, just the title from the past brought some bad memories in her.
“I’ll be fine.” she took a step back “like I said, read ahead. Just…. not with me here” turning on her heels she rushed out of the living room.
“Tim?” Dick glanced at his younger brother.
“I’ll check on her. And just a word of advice to you two – prepare for some additional trauma after this.”
***
Date number  1 – he showed up late using some lame excuses about having an important job and being a really big fish. For the whole night he was talking about himself, not asking a single thing about me. After an hour of his monologue I excused myself into the bathroom to catch a breath and when I came back found him flirting with the sexy looking girl on the other table. “What, can’t blame me for being attracted to a good looking girl, for a change.
Date number 3 – he seemed like a nice guy. Came right on time, focused on me (perhaps a bit too much, not caring about personal distance), saying that he enjoyed my company. He paid for the meal. But when I started thinking that maybe, maybe he was a good one, the situation turned around. Despite my clear “no”, his hands were all over me, definitely in the places they should not. “come on, honey, you know no one else would want you. You’re just not the kind of girl to be desirable.” I used my pepper spray on him and got away, chased by his yells that I was a bitch
Date number 5 – “You should have posted your profile picture on the side. I wouldn’t have to waste my time if I knew you looked like this”
Date number 8 – “I believe man are far superior to woman. We are just stronger, tougher, smarter. Oh, and you probably did not know this, but color red is believed to be attracting to you, girls. I had plenty of woman falling to my knees just because I was wearing it.”
“Jason?” despite the seriousness dripping from the article Dick could not help a laugh
“What? That’s not why I chose to be Red Hood and you know it!”
“Maybe that is why you are just staring at me with those dumb, pretty eyes without a single word.” I was staring, but definitely not because I was enamored by his behavior.
Date number 10 –Honestly, I was planning to skip it, but much to my surprise my date found me. “You must be Y/N” he smiled approaching the table “I knew it from the second I saw you sitting here all alone.”
“Did you?” I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed, sipping on my drink.
“Mhm. You are smart girl. And those are rarely wanted. If you were pretty however….”
Ok, that was the end of that joke of a date.
So, to sum it all up, I am pretty sure finding yourself a good partner is a challenge I was not able to tackle. But if you follow all the rules and guidance we prepare for you in our magazine your chances for meeting your price charming are rising significantly. Go check our tips for weight loss and new trends in make up for the spring……
Dick voice broke at the ending, not capable of finishing.
“Poor Y/n” he sighed “she’s been though a lot.”
“She shouldn’t have searched on the Internet. “ Jason scoffed but clenched his fists. “She should have known better.”
“It was for a job.” Dick pointed out “she would never come up with something like this on her own and you know it.”
“How much time ago was it written?”
“Three years ago, why….? Jason! Jason! what the hell are you planning on doing?!”
“Making it right.” The younger brother muttered walking out of the room, grabbing his helmet on the way.
“Don’t you dare! Jason!” now Dick really felt like it was his responsibility to make sure his brother won't do anything stupid.
to be continued

with sea walls? uh. i don't think there's enough concrete to build a sea wall across every coastline on earth. and lots of places it wouldn't matter--if you're building on porous limestone, it will just seep up through that. and then you get other effects--you will note that concrete sea walls do not occur in nature, and you're going to massively alter erosion patterns and increase your vulnerability to tsunamis.
sea level rise is only one part of the concern around climate change anyway. increased desertification, rendering currently densely populated regions far less habitable, droughts and flooding resulting from shifting weather patterns, destruction of property due to wildfires, and negative impacts on food production are all going to occur to some extent or another.
if the amount of carbon in the atmosphere gets really high, the severity of these effects will not scale in a simple proportional manner to the amount of warming. carbon sinks like the amazon may cease to function, ocean currents may be altered, ocean acidification may alter marine habitats so much that specific industries like fishing are severely affected.
at a certain point it will make economic sense to bite the bullet and engage in geoengineering projects like injecting aerosols into the upper atmosphere--these projects may have negative environmental effects (like acid rain in the case of sulfur aerosols), but they will be less than the climate continuing to heat up. unfortunately these would be stopgap measures only: problems like ocean acidification aren't going to be affected at all. if co2 levels get too high human brain function starts to be affected.
there really is no long term solution for the problems caused by co2 emissions other than there being less co2 in the atmosphere. because carbon capture technology is still not very sophisticated, this means our best bet, by far, is to just not emit that co2 in the first place. personally i think good ol' nuclear power shows promise--modern technology can make it pretty darn clean and safe! even if we ultimately want to switch to other energy sources, fission is a good transitional option while we flesh out those technologies. continuing to burn coal (the stopgap a lot of anti-nuclear types seem to prefer) is not.

On the value of biting bullets
As llong as you are not on a debate against an opponent whose goal is to make you look bad, I cannot overstate how good it can be to bite bullets. By biting bullets I mean admitting to things that sound or make you look bad as long as they are not outright false.
It may feel like you are just throwing blood on the ocean for the sharks to pounce on you but it can sometimes, surprisingly, appaciguate the other person. It can work as an assurance for them that they are not crazy and most importantly that you are not crazy, that you can see what that other person sees.
It can also be a bit of a power move to shamelessly admit to something, it can disarm an opponent who is expecting to browbeat you with guilt or shame. If you are un bothered by some label or position they are trying to give you it can demonstrate that they have nothing but moral outrage and no real argument.
But also generally is just a good way of helping the conversation move along and make sure everyone is on the same page.
One example of this was when I was arguing about veganism with my gf (she's vegan and I'm not). Since I'm not stupid I freely admitted that yeah, industrial farming and slaughtering cause uncountable, abject suffering for animals of a monstrous nature and scale. I also admitted that I didn't care. That animal suffering, in my account, is just not morally relevant. That my morality extends as far as humans go and not much farther. That I am more than happy to eat meat knowing the horrors that had to happen for me to eat it.
At first she was a bit concerned about this until I clarified that I do have an ingrained response to feeling bad if an animal suffers in front of me. That if I see a puppy or a rabbit or whatever in pain I am going to feel sad about it. That reassured her that I'm not a sociopath.
And honestly I think afterwards she almost respected my position. She already thought me eating meat was evil before this argument and so I think she appreciated that I didn't try to hide behind the dogshit arguments that most vegans get when challenged (oh they don't suffer that much, eating meat is totally necessary and inevitable, if the rest of the world has a meat industry then obviously I, as an individual, then have no option but to eat meat (this one in particular is just so stupid)). I just accepted that and got to the bottom of the matter which is that our moral axioms are inconmensurable. That at a fundamental level I care about different things than she does.

I know it’s been a while and I really didn’t want it to be this long, but here I am. A lot has happened in the last few weeks and, to summarize it all, it’s taken a lot out of me. I wanted to have everything done and be able to move onto the Hocus Pocus AU, but honestly, I haven’t even finished the halfway point of the final Camp Wanamaker chapter. I definitely still want to write it, but with October being halfway over already, it feels as though pushing it to next year might be the easiest option (though I would love nothing more than to jump into it right now haha). Anyway, I feel as though I should sort of explain why I’ve been so distant in everything, especially my writing, but it’s sort of taken a lot out of me to write it all out. I do apologize in advance for being sort of blunt; I haven’t really been taking the time to process my own emotions lately and it shows.
For starters, my grandma’s step-mom, my Great-Grammy Donna, passed away. At 94 years old, she was still doing fairly well health-wise and keeping things as interesting as possible. She was creative, always spoke her mind, and, although we weren’t technically blood relatives, I felt just as close to her as everyone else. Her house was home to everyone and she made sure that you never left her house hungry or wanting for anything. She always loved it when my mom and I visited and promised to one day teach me how to make proper Polish food, though we never got the chance. Honestly, she partially inspired me to write Vivien’s Nonna Dawn and I made their personalities fairly similar, which made it really hard to think about writing her character at all lately.
On top of that, my car was having some pretty serious - and rather expensive - issues. In total, I would have had to pay at least 3 grand out of pocket to get it all fixed. Due to being from a family full of mechanics, I managed to find a quick fix for some of it, but the car needs to be road-worthy by the end of November and I don’t have the money for it all right now, so it looks as though I’ll have to just bite the bullet and buy a used car before then. I’m holding out hope that something road-worthy will come along soon, but until then, I’ve at least got my old minivan.
Now, I’ve been working on seeing the good in things lately and one of the few bits of good news I have right now, is that my mom and I have been working out more to get ourselves out of depression. It’s been working pretty well so far. I’ve lost almost 30 pounds and dropped a size, which feels great. As I am pretty tall, my weight is more evenly distributed, but I’m still hoping to be down to my goal weight by my birthday, if not sooner. It’ll be a lot of work, but I’m determined and it’s helping me get into a better head space, which is a bonus, if you ask me.
Anyway, I’m hoping to finish the chapter soon and, if I feel up to it, maybe work on the Hocus Pocus AU. I am still determined to finish this last chapter, but I’m definitely ready to move on as I really want to get into the storylines I’ve been practically dangling in front of my face like a carrot. It might take me a while as I work through things, but I want to make sure I take my time and have things come out the way I would like them to. I don’t want to half-ass anything or give you a cruddy chapter! So, yeah, that’s where I’m at with everything and I hope to get back to writing/posting more soon!
In the meantime, I’ve made my Pinterest boards for Melaka Mystica (Hocus Pocus AU) and True Colors (The Last Of Us AU2) available. There may be other boards making appearances sooner or later as I try to figure out what to write next, but for now, that’s all I’ve got for you. I hope you enjoy them at least a little!

OPM 180 spoilers: Dragon-level disasters
Tumblr media
Sheesh, ONE and Murata-sensei aren't painting a pretty picture.
That civilians and their buildings are just getting absolutely and violently murdered on the streets by casually appearing dragon-level monsters which are no joke even for S-rank heroes and becoming more and more common...and the civilians who have to live outside HA are always in this kind of danger and only by being rich, can you actually buy safety because they also relocated a bunch of the able heroes into the headquarters to guard rich people.
Sheesh. OPM world is being setuped for some kind of civilian uprising and unrest and some kind of revolution. This kind of shit is happening once a month too according to Crescent Eyebroll, which is just absurd to think.
This level of destruction makes all the abled heroes who can solo dragon level monsters even more valued but are they really valued by HA? Ofc course not, that would imply competence. Who's gonna protect the civilians if the heroes cannot? The only option left will be themselves, in any ways they can.
(Not so much different from irl now is it? Sigh...) (Now it really makes you think about if Saitama was relocated to HA because someone figured out what a true asset he is)
Oh well, least we have Saitama making a point and destroying corporation buildings like a bullet.
Tumblr media
That poor indie company Small Video though, collateral damage.
RIP VHS tapes, you will be missed. *salute*
I distinctly recall all those early demon+dragon level monsters Saitama casually took out (unfortunately city b was collateral) and now that he's a bit too busy with a sassy lost child, we're seeing a direct effect of Saitama being unable to do much to help, instead he's being thrown around like a ragdoll and getting too emotionally incensed and invested in versing Tatsumaki that he's not caring much about demolishing stuff either.
Unfortunately...our poor man still can't fly and Tatsumaki seems to be using so much power that Saitama can't stop being ragdolled that easily. He'll need his footing first, but psychic powers seem to be like this man's achilles heel.
But then again, corps being demolished means less goods for the civilians, so as funny as it may seem, all this will come back to bite the innocent civilian asses too, when goods rocket in price due to no availability and greedy companies on the other side.

sorry to bother but i have a question for u! how does one go about getting into tea and trying new flavors and brands beyond the generic ones at the supermarket? like where do you buy it? (im portuguese btw if that helps)
not a bother at all! so first off you wanna cover your bases and figure out which basic tea types you like more. so trying plain (good quality) teas is a good place to start! try different types of green, black, white teas, pu'erh, lapsang souchong, etc.; also try other types like rooibos and herbal infusions (perfect decaf options, i am super partial to rooibos).
then once you know which tea bases you enjoy, start looking for blends that build upon them! you may have already tried earl grey, but what about lady grey? or an earl grey-scented rooibos-based blend? there are teas infused and aromatized with every flavour you can imagine.
for where to shop - i'm a tea fiend so i do often bite the bullet and accept the costs of import duties when shopping, which might or might not seem feasible to you, so my favourite teamakers are actually in the US (black lotus tea) and the UK (bird & blend - super recommend this one!). in portugal, my #1 recommendation is companhia portugueza do chá, they have a fab online shop. also, i'm biased but! look for azorean tea, it's really good! gorreana brand ideally <33
i don't recommend brands like pukka or other similarly overpriced overseas brands that you often find on health shops around here. their blends are often not that great and you're paying the import taxes multiplied by a lot, you'd be better off just buying online from the sites i mentioned. the one brand that's available in supermarkets that i really enjoy is ahmad's!

This October, I am planning to watch one Halloween or horror movie every day of the month; I did the same thing with Christmas movies last December. I’m trying to get a mix of personal favorites, classics I haven’t seen, and high quality stuff I also haven’t seen, and am looking for suggestions; right now if I just watched everything I am sure about on my list I’d run out too soon and have to fill the gap with TV shows.
(I am planning to use TV shows anyway, to fill out an evening or any gaps, but definitely prefer movies for this project. Top TV shows are Over the Garden Wall, the Haunting of Hill House, and The Twilight Zone, and I may use Teen Wolf in a pinch.)
Here’s what I have so far:
Personal favorites:
Hocus Pocus
Crimson Peak
1408
The House on Haunted Hill
The Fly
The Mummy
What We Do In The Shadows
The Craft
An American Werewolf in London
Beetlejuice
The Addams Family
Addams Family Values
The Frighteners
Sleepy Hollow
Shaun of the Dead
Movies I haven’t seen and want to try:
Midsommar
Get Out
Alien
Carrie
The Shining
Movies I haven’t seen and am not sure I want to try:
Evil Dead?
I Know What you Did Last Summer?
Scream?
Poltergeist?
The Haunting?
New Addams family movies?
Fear Street?
Friday the 13th?
Halloween?
Movies I don’t want to watch:
The Nightmare Before Christmas (nothing against it, it’s just too much Christmas for the mood I want in October)
The Others (I like it, just don’t feel like it)
Silent Hill (…I’m a fan of the games, I only enjoy the movie for the visuals really, so it doesn’t work for me for this project)
The Ring (have not seen it, I know the twist ending and it doesn’t really interest me)
Generally, I’m not really interested in simple slashers or jump-scare horror, or anything super intense unless it also has some thought-provoking or nostalgic hook to it. I’d like more Classic Horror Monster Movies but also want them to be, like… good. Werewolves are my favorite, but I haven’t found many werewolf movies that I like over the years.
idk, any ideas? I technically have plenty of options if I bite the bullet and watch the ones I’m not sure about but I want to see if I am missing anything particularly good or obvious.

Should I apply for a loan with bad credit?
Tumblr media
Do you have bad credit? Have you heard that it’s hard to get approved for loans with bad credit? Maybe you’ve even heard that it’s impossible. The truth is, it’s possible to get approved for a loan with bad credit, but there are some things you should know before applying. Here are six factors to consider when applying for a loan with bad credit: your credit score, your past spending history, and the type of loan you’re applying for.
1- Applying For A Personal Loan With Bad Credit
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!: One of these days you’re going to have to bite the bullet and get your finances in order. Before you do that, however, you might want to consider applying for a personal loan. Personal loans can be just what you need if your credit is less than perfect—assuming you can put together enough collateral and income to convince lenders that they’ll get their money back with interest. Here’s what you should know before deciding whether or not it makes sense to apply for a personal loan while your score sucks: It will take time: OK, so we already said that there are other options out there besides a personal loan.
2- Do You Need A Loan?
If you have bad credit, it doesn’t mean you can’t get a loan. However, to qualify for these loans, you may need to put up collateral or be able to secure other types of financing. It’s important to figure out whether you need a new loan before making any decisions. Make sure that taking on more debt isn’t going to hurt your finances further. There are many ways to improve your credit score, including improving your current financial situation and paying off existing debts. You may even find that after improving your financial situation, you don’t want to take on additional debt at all!
Talk to an expert about how much money you should use from each paycheck toward saving and paying down debt; if there is anything left over when all bills are paid, then it might be time for a discussion about applying for a new loan.
3- The Lowdown On Personal Loans
Personal loans are often secured against your car or property, but they can also be unsecured. Regardless of which option you choose, make sure to research your options and read all the fine print before applying for a personal loan. By not being prepared, you could end up in a worse financial situation than you already were in, to begin with. Here’s what you need to know about bad credit scores and how they relate to getting approved for personal loans. If you are looking for additional help making ends meet until your next paycheck, personal loans may just be one solution.
4- Is A Personal Loan Right For Me?
Most loans, such as mortgages and car loans, require an excellent credit score. But personal loans don’t have to be so strict. If you’re looking to buy something more expensive than your monthly bills or are just starting and haven’t established a good track record of making payments on time, applying for a personal loan can help you get what you need—even if you have bad credit. However, it’s important to be realistic about whether or not you can afford one. While most lenders offer borrowers financial flexibility by not requiring them to put money down before approval, higher interest rates mean that paying back your loan will take longer. And if you don’t pay back in full within 6 months, the balance could compound and grow rapidly. So first make sure you can afford a potential annual percentage rate (APR) of up to 35% by calculating how much money that would cost each month in addition to your existing expenses.
5- Can I Get A Personal Loan Even If I Have Bad Credit?
Yes, you can get loans even if you have bad credit. But certain characteristics make you a good or bad risk to lenders. You can check your credit score and it will give you an idea of what kind of interest rates and terms you should expect on any loans or lines of credit that are being offered to you. If your score is low, don’t worry. It’s not impossible to get a personal loan even with bad credit; all you need is some knowledge and preparation. There are two main categories of people who seek out personal loans: those who want emergency cash and those who want funds for other uses but need quick access to capital.
6- How To Rebuild Credit After Bankruptcy Or Collection Issues
services. However, there are several ways you can rebuild your financial reputation. Here’s how to get back on track after bankruptcy or collection issues… Team up with someone who has good credit: If you have bad credit because of past mistakes, rebuilding it is hard enough without trying to do so alone. Instead, look for someone in your social circle that has great credit; then ask them if they would be willing to add you as an authorized user to one of their cards. This way, both you and they can benefit from better-than-average interest rates while helping each other rebuild your scores. Authorized users will enjoy all of the same protections as primary cardholders–including liability protection–and more importantly, all their positive payment history will help boost yours.

For the sake of compilation, here are the teams I had used to get to 54 wins when Gauntlet was last up.  I’ll be copying all of them, but maybe making some adjustments if I decide I have the freedom to do so.
Ghetsis, Ramos, Support Seadra vs. Tapu Bulu
SC Sonia, Janine, Support Weezing vs. Tapu Bulu
Alder, SC Ingo, Marley vs. Uxie
N, Misty, Support Dragonair vs. Uxie
Phoebe, Spring May, Sophocles vs. Entei
Hilbert, Acerola, Cynthia vs. Entei
Oddly enough, two of each category.  Maybe I just take the six win loss and call it good.  ...we all know I won’t do that.
One team can be swapped out for SS May, and in two days, we can bring in SS Brendan as a support.  I had also wanted to swap out Lickitung to use against Uxie, but this isn’t going to work at all.  The only other defense dropper is Parasect.  So same issues.
That said, struggling with other compositions.  Hilbert/Acerola/Cynthia is...kinda locked in.  There’s not really anyone else we have to use in tandem with Acerola and Hilbert.  Maybe Olivia, but that seems...terrible, frankly.  Spring May in the Phoebe/Sophocles comp could swap in Steven over May for the added flinch rate and a better sync nuke, but I’m not entirely convinced it would be a huge boon for him.  Especially because move gauge is an issue, and Spring May’s whole thing is boosting speed for the party.  The only option I can think of is swapping in SS May here.  It would work, but I kinda feel like having her take over SC Sonia’s team in Bulu would be less of a pain.  That team was so bad.
Uxie’s even worse.  By the time we reached N’s team, we were literally out of supports.  SS Brendan would not combo well with him either, so there’s effectively no salvaging it.  Similar problems exist for the Marley team.  She can only buff crit by 1, and that means only a team with someone who has Dire Hit+ can work with her.  That’s really limiting.  Summer N might work, though.  Debuffing special attack, and potentially accuracy, could work really well.  Swap out Ingo for an eggmon that can inflict trap, like Lickitung, and this could work.  Okay yeah, the team is now Marley/Tech Lickitung/Summer N, while the Darach team will use Tech Parasect over Lickitung.  That’s at least one saved.
Then there’s the Tapu Bulu teams.  SC Sonia really was a huge gamble, that more often than not didn’t pay off.  This team was brutal, requiring a lot of resets just to get started properly, and even then could fall apart pretty badly.  Ghetsis was fine as a damage dealer, and Ramos is required for that particular fight, but Tech Seadra is terrible and it’s a problem.  It gives needed buffs for the team, but it’s also weak to Grass, which is a disaster.  But as always, we’re low on tools.  This might be a good “Substitute in Brendan” match, since even if things go south on his pulls, we only need +1 crit and +4 special attack to make Ghetsis function.  The added special defense drops would turn Ghetsis into a monster as well.  Which salvages at least one option, but not the other.
I dunno, man.  I may need to just bite the bullet on this one.  Some of these bad teams may just have to be powered through again.  But all that said, here’s the new breakdown I’m considering.
TAPU BULU
Hop, Kahili, Tech Golbat - No change.
Darach, Kiawe, Hitmontop - No change.
Rosa, Anni Steven, Tech Farfetch’d - No change.
Lysandre, Skyla, Tech Persian - No change.
Winona, SS Kris, Anni Skyla - No change.
Dawn, SS Erika, Tech Parasect - Swapped Lickitung for Parasect to optimize an Uxie team.
Falkner, Blue, Lance - Worked okay, but may swap Lance for Support Chansey or Clefable for faster Blue buffing and Potion.
Jasmine, Ethan, Support Charizard - No changes.
Gloria, Palentine’s Marnie, Support Primeape - No changes.
Champion Iris, Classic Elesa, Maylene - No changes.
Lucian, SS Elesa, Tech Victreebel - No changes.
Ghetsis, Ramos, SS Brendan - SS Brendan over Support Seadra.  Brendan should be much more optimized for Ghetsis.
Lillie, Elio, Lusamine - No change.
Summer Lyra, Tech Exeggutor, Bugsy&Scyther - No change.
Classic Blue, Summer Hilda, Palentine’s Dawn - No change.
Lyra, Plumeria, Agatha - No change.
SS May, Janine, Support Weezing - Taking away SC Sonia.  SS May should be a much, much stronger option.
SS Cyrus, MU Torchic, Mina - No change.
UXIE
Anni Lillie, Support Tauros - No change.
BP Morty, Fantina, Support Gengar - No change.
Renegade Cynthia, Winter Erika, Tech Snorlax - No change.
Allister, Selene, Sawyer - Worked, but weren’t great.  Unsure of needed change.
Cheryl, Giovanni, BP Erika - No change.
Silver, Blaine, Sonia - No change.
Anni N, Tech Ninetales, Spring Burgh - No change.
SS Morty, Serena, Ethan - No change.
BP Surge, Viola, Masked Royal - No change.
SS Serena, Calem, Drake - No change.
Knight Diantha, Lucy, Support Muk - No change.
SC Jasmine, Palentine’s Serena, Mallow - No change.
SC Lillie, SS Leaf, Wallace - No change.
NY!Lillie, Solgaleo, Brawly - No change.
SS Lyra, Liza, Tech Nidoqueen - No change.
Summer N, Marley, Tech Lickitung - Adapted from Alder’s team.
NY!Sabrina, Lisia, Koga - No change.
N, Misty, Support Dragonair - Scraping the bottom of the barrel, I don’t want to do this again, but I think we’re stuck with it...
ENTEI
Crasher Wake, Tech Blastoise, Lana - No change.
Kris, Aaron, Will - No change.
Sabrina, May, Cyrus - No change.
Swimsuit Misty, Brock, Nessa - No change.
Sycamore, Barry, Tech Gyarados - No change.
SS Blue, SS Misty, SS Brock - No change.
Winter Rosa, Summer Steven, Candice - You know what.  Sure.  Let’s roll those dice again, see if we get the good outcome we want.
Leaf, SS Grimsley, BP Zinnia - No change.
Ingo, Emmet, Tech Raticate - No change.
Roxanne, Bede, Diantha - No change.
SS Dawn, SS May, Caitlin - No change.
SS Lusamine, Glacia, Bianca - No change.
H!Caitlin, Princess Hilda, Tech Magneton - No change.
Phoebe, Spring May, Sophocles - God this was so bad, but I can’t see anything else working here.  We can try Steven or SC Sonia instead, but gauges are likely way worse off with those two.
Sidney, Kukui, Marlon - No change.
Siebold, Tech Kangaskhan, Cheren - It was super RNG reliant, but no change.  When it works, it works.
Hilbert, Acerola, Cynthia - I legitimately contemplated EXing Hilbert just to make this work.  I should change it.  But Acerola’s the last flinch bot we have, and that locks us in to Cynthia or Olivia, and neither is going to go well.  Cynthia’s more invested so...here we go, I guess.
Whitney, Gladion, Piers - A bit RNG reliant with Whitney, but no change.

Hi! First of all, your writing is ASTOUNDING. I adore how you characterize. Secondly, I have a prompt idea:
A Villain who is falling in love with a Hero, but won’t admit it to themself. They stop being able to effectively fight Hero because they don’t want to hurt them. But Supervillain notices, so they capture Hero and use them to lure Villain in.

🥺🥺🥺 Thank you so very much! You just made my day. I thank you for the compliment and the prompt! I sure hope I did it justice, and I hope you enjoy!
CW//Injuries, threats, implied torture
Villain’s world spun as their skull cracked against the rough concrete of the roof. Opening their eyes, their field of vision was filled with only an array of stars.
Everything hurt.
They were convinced, in that moment, that there was not an inch of their flesh that was left unbruised, not a rib left unfractured. Breathing on its own was an ordeal, an ordeal that they endured only out of pure necessity.
Pain rippled through the stocks of jelly they had once called limbs as the villain scrambled first to hands and knees, and finally to their feet, even as unsteady as they were. They could do nothing but gasp as they faced down their opponent.
There was something in Hero’s eyes. Something that even their nemesis, their sworn, life-long foe could not quite name. It was not quite sympathy, no, but it was not quite pity, either. Something inbetween, perhaps, with only the slightest garnishing of regret.
“Come on, Villain.” It was with a pleading tone that the hero spoke, as though attempting to coax a frightened cat down from the top branches of a Redwood tree. “Just stand down! You can’t win this. We have you surrounded. No harm will come to you- No more harm.”
Yet, the villain only shook their head.
For any outsider, the matchup would have looked more like a massacre, waiting to happen. Villain themself was perhaps not the picture of musculature, but what villain was? No, they may not have been the strongest. But everyone knew what power they held in their palms, the lightning they could unleash at will. Enough to topple the building upon which they stood. Enough to topple the whole city, perhaps. The city had yet to so much as see their full potential.
But it was their potential that the villain now refused to use.
Hero, on the other hand, was... well, they weren’t much. As strong as they were, as clever, as smart, superstrength could only do one so much good. Villain could have destroyed them in passing, with the snap of a finger!
Why wasn’t the hero in the nearest emergency room? Even Villain themself wasn’t entirely sure.
“I’m not giving up, asshole!” They snarled, balling their hands to fists. It would be so easy. So very simple to send a torrent of lightning forth, to shock Hero within an inch of their life. Hell, Villain used their powers to make popcorn on the weekends!
But, they couldn’t. They couldn’t imagine Hero, the poor thing, the pitiful little fool, fallen to the ground. The very thought of using their powers against their opponent made them feel sick.
“I don’t want to hurt you.” Hero spoke, eyes wide and glimmering with that same mix of sympathy and regret.
“Too bad.”
And, with that, the rooftop once more became a battleground. Villain surged forward, met in the center by their nemesis. A blow to the side of their head sent them stumbling.
They couldn’t go on like this, they knew as their vision clouded once more with stars. Another hit and they would be unconscious, in the custody of the so-called good guys. They couldn’t do that.
They had two choices.
Three. Three choices.
The first? To take the hit. To bite the bullet, to find themself behind bars.
The second? To hurt Hero. To wipe that oh-so-innocent quiver from their lips. To destroy-
No. They had two options. That wasn’t even on the table. Villain could be beaten, or they could flee.
It was with a shivering gasp that they chose the second.

Sidekick placed down their fork with a resounding clack. In the silent room, the sound resembled the ring of a gong.
“Are you absolutely certain you’re alright?” They asked with a quirked brow. With the day turning to evening, they had left their sidekick’s uniform behind, replaced now with a casual set of garments. After all, the restaurant at which they were eating was far from fancy. That wasn’t the type of villain that their mentor was.
“Of course I’m alright. Do I look like some kind of ailing senior citizen?” Villain muttered under their breath as they looked over in displeasure at their sidekick. For someone so young, they certainly had a mouth.
“Not now. But on the battlefield last night-”
“I’m fine. I’m up and walking, aren’t I?”
“It’s not about that.” Sidekick shook their head. “It was in the battle. You could’ve taken out Hero easy-”
“Keep your voice down, we’re in public.”
“Sorry.” They lowered their tone. “But, I’ve seen you take Hero out dozens of times. Recently, though, you’ve been all over the place. You can’t even land a single hit! I’m worried. You’ve lost your edge. Up on that rooftop, it was like you were somewhere else entirely.”
Villain had been somewhere else entirely, not that they would ever dare to admit it. They had been lost, hopelessly lost- Lost in the eyes of their damn nemesis.
“I just wasn’t on the ball. Everyone has off days.” They grumbled, turning their embarrassed gaze away.
“Everyone has off days. But you’ve been having an off month! Don’t think I haven’t noticed that it’s just them. Just Hero.”
“They’re getting better.”
“So are you.”
“Really, I’m fine.”
Sidekick reached across the table, placing their palm upon the back of their mentor’s hand, which had unconsciously been balled into a fist.
“You nearly got captured, last night. I don’t know what I’d do without you, Villain. If you’re sick, if something’s wrong, anything at all, you need to tell me.”
Villain suddenly spotted something very interesting on their shoes, and kept their gaze fixed there.
“It’s stupid.”
“Are you sick? Everyone gets sick sometimes, it’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
“Not sick.”
“Then what?”
Villain gritted their teeth.
“Lovesick.”
Sidekick withdrew their hand in shock.
“What?”
“Look, it’s stupid! I don’t know. I shouldn’t be feeling that way about a hero, but- They’re a good person, I swear it. They want to help, and they’re kind, and I just can’t bear the thought of hurting them. What if I changed them? What if I hurt them, and that was what made them lose hope, lose faith? Then that’d be on my shoulders!”
“You’re saying...” Sidekick’s jaw was still ajar in shock. “You’re saying that you can’t fight Hero, because you’re in love with them?”
Villain looked up with a sigh.
“To put it shortly, I suppose.”
The both of them were shocked as a figure appeared next to their table. A sharply-dressed figure with a notepad.
“Are you two ready to order?”
“Yes, my apologies.” Villain cleared their throat. They and their sidekick presented their orders, which the waiter scrawled down with a series of understanding nods.
It was not until that particular waiter disappeared from the dining room that they slipped out of their disguise, and dialed a number into their phone.
“Hey, Boss? You might wanna hear about this.”

To say Villain was in a bad mood would have been an understatement.
The injuries covering every last inch of their body, too, ached with every step they took. Bruises and beatings rippled, forcing them nearly to limp. Yet, they forced their gait to remain normal, even if it meant pain.
They couldn’t call attention to themself. Not when they were in civilian clothes like this, and not when they were on the streets. Still, they kept their head low and their sweatshirt hoodie up as they went along. No need to stick out in the crowd.
This was the only solace they ever got, after all. When some got frustrated, they would go for a drive in the night. But their vehicle was distinctive enough that that wasn’t an option for the villain.
Instead? They walked, moving along with the crowd as though they were a single fish in a school. Usually, this helped them calm down. Now, however, every step they took only made their thoughts spin more wildly.
First, it was Hero. Hero and their stupid eyes. Then it was Sidekick. It wasn’t that Sidekick had confronted them that made them so worried, it was that they’d noticed at all.
That meant that other people out there might spot their weakness. Might use it as an advantage. Who would it be, though? Hero themself? Or, even-
A gasp rippled through the crowd around them in a wave. Voices shouted and fingers pointed, all in the same direction. Villain wiggled their way out of the crowd in order to see what had caused such fuss.
A billboard. An electronic billboard.
An electronic billboard that no longer housed an advertisement for the latest cellphone or insurance scam. No. Upon the massive thing, multiple stories in height, surely, was broadcasted a video.
“Good evening, and I do apologize for interrupting. But I just had to get my friend’s attention.”
Villain’s breath caught in their throat. They would know that voice even if they had to pick it out of a crowd of thousands.
Most would have expected that two people so similar as Villain and Supervillain would get along, but the reality was just the opposite. Villain couldn’t call themself a good guy, no, but they had ethics. Morals. Real aims to work towards, rather than burning the city down and laughing among the flames.
Supervillain, on the other hand? There was a reason that they were so feared. Their goals were far grander than Villain’s.
To say that they had never been very good friends would be an understatement.
And, now? Now they were enemies. The video projected upon that billboard made that fact certain.
Supervillain themself was not visible in frame-- Perhaps that was lucky for Villain. Seeing that stupid face would have certainly goaded them into destroying the projection outright. Instead, the video displayed a room.
A concrete room, with a chair in the center. A chair that was far from empty.
It was always Hero’s eyes that they could not help but get lost in. Now, that wasn’t a factor. Not when the hero was so tightly blindfolded. Their soothing, calming voice, too, had been eliminated-- the cloth gag in their mouth was already soaked-through with spittle.
Tied to the chair, bound, gagged, and blinded, sat Hero.
“Now, I don’t want a ransom. No, no. I only want to see a dear friend of mine. And it has been oh, so hard to track them down.
So, Villain, dear?”
They shivered at the sound of their name. Their name.
“How about you come to my base, and pick up your little friend, here. Or else, I might just have to do something drastic.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
For six hours, Villain did not move.
As soon as the broadcast had left the billboard, it had repeated itself upon every news channel that gave half a crap about the metropolis. National news, even international, with subtitles in two dozen languages telling of Supervillain’s threat.
They’d found out. Of course they’d found out.
Villain knew they  should have been furious. They should have strangled Supervillain, strangled Hero, strangled themself! After all, this was all their fault. Falling for a hero, how could they have possibly been so stupid?
Now, they stared. Hands balled to fists in their lap as yet another newscaster explained the same events, over and over again.
“Boss?” Sidekick’s voice was soft, nothing like their usual, nosy self. They sat in a chair behind their mentor, who was seated criss-cross on the floor.
There was no answer.
“Boss... What are you going to do?”
“I can’t leave them.”
“Leave who?”
“Leave Hero. You know what Supervillain is like! They’ll destroy them. Destroy the last good hero in the city.”
“You didn’t want to hurt them.”
“And I don’t want to see them hurt, either.”
“I know you don’t. But it’s all Supervillain has over you. You can just... Leave them, right? It’s not like Hero has any real power over you.”
“No.”
“No?”
“I have to.”
“You don’t!”
Villain stood.
“Yes, I do.” They spun around, stalking towards the room that held their costume. “And I need to wipe that damn smile off Supervillain’s face.”
